Odd Behavior || Cedric Diggory x fem!Reader
Summary: Cedric Diggory is usually good with flirting with girls, but when it comes to Y/n, he's not very confident like usual. Cedric and Y/n are at the same party, but he's too nervous to do anything about approaching Y/n.

Cedric stands in the Hufflepuff Common room, surrounded by his friends. His friends are all laughing at something, but Cedric wasn't listening to anything his friends were saying. His focus was on a friend group that was standing across the room. The friend group included Y/n and her other friends. Y/n wasn't a Hufflepuff, but was still invited to the Hufflepuff party. The party was something random some people pulled together, it was supposed to be only Hufflepuffs, but people invited their friends from other houses.
One of Cedric's friends notice Cedric wasn't paying attention, so he nudged Cedric's arm to get his attention. Cedric turned his head to his friend, but kept his eyes on the girl he was staring at. "Hm?" Cedric hummed.
"Yo, what are you looking at?" His friend asked, trying to follow his gaze.
"Oh- nothing." Cedric says, looking away from Y/n and putting his eyes on his friend.
"No, not nothing, is it that group of girls back there?" His friend asks, trying to spot what girl Cedric was looking at.
"Uh, yeah." Cedric says as he looks back at Y/n. He sees Y/n's friend group burst out in laughter, he sees Y/n's beautiful smile. The corner of his lip slightly lift up seeing her happy.
"Is it that Gryffindor girl? Shoot whats her name.." Cedric's friend says, trying to remember her name.
"Y/n." Cedric responds.
"Ah, right, Y/n. Go talk to her, man."
Cedric looks at his friend with a confused look. He shakes his head at his friend and says, "No way."
"Why not? You've talked to girls before!" Cedric's friend says, trying to be loud enough over the loud Common Room.
"Yeah but-" Cedric pauses and looks over to Y/n. "not like Y/n."
"What are you saying, man? Go talk to her! It wouldn't hurt!" Cedric's friend says, looking over to the group of girls. "I didn't think I would live to see the day Cedric Diggory is scared to talk to a girl!" His friend laughs.
"I'm not scared! I'm just, I don't know." Cedric replies, looking over to his friend.
"What is so different about her and all the other girls you've talked to?"
"She like, intimidating but in a good way, you know?" Cedric embarrassingly admits.
"Man, how long have you been scared to talk to this girl?"
"Since like, 3rd year?"
"Cedric! You need to talk to her!" Cedric's friend says as the 2 boys look back over to Y/n's friend group. One of Y/n's friends look over to the 2 boys, seeing they are looking at Y/n, so she nudges her.
She whispers in Y/n's ear something, making Y/n turn her attention to the two boys staring. Cedric's friend looks back at Cedric as Cedric continues to look at the girl. Y/n furrows her eyebrows at Cedric, tilting her head slightly in confusion with a slight smirk. Cedric's face turns slightly red, he didn't know what to do. He smiles at the girl and raises his eyebrows at her.
Y/n smiles at the boy, then turns her attention back to her friends. Cedric's friend slaps Cedric's arm, making Cedric look back over at him. "Now you have to talk to her, man."
Cedric couldn't build up the courage to talk to her, he wasn't sure why. His friend was right, he usually was good with talking to girls. It's like all his experience of talking to girls has been thrown out the window and it's a fresh start now. It's true, he had his eye on Y/n since 3rd year, they've had classes together, but they've never interacted before.
"I feel like I just blew my shot." Cedric admits, embarrassed.
"No way! That was just the start, look her friends are telling her to go talk to you!" Cedric's friend says, looking at the group of girls once again. It was true, Y/n's friends were hyping Y/n up to talk to the boy, saying how it's obvious Cedric is interested in her.
"He's literally looking at you right now again!" One of Y/n's friends shout a little too loud. Cedric and his friend heard this and looked at each other and laughed.
"See?" Cedric's friend says proudly.
"Yeah yeah, I think I'm gonna go to bed or something, I need good sleep for the Quidditch game tomorrow." Cedric says as he starts walking over to the dorm area.
Once Y/n decides to talk to Cedric, she turns away from her friends and starts walking over to where Cedric and his friend were. When she sees Cedric's friend standing alone, she gives him a confused look. Cedric's friend laughs and point to Cedric, who is walking away. She nods her head and smiles at the friend, silently thanking him.
Y/n waits to call out to Cedric once they are alone. When they are in an empty hallway, Y/n says, "You were really going to leave without talking to me?"
Cedric hears Y/n's voice, making his heart flutter. He turns around and smiles at the girl, "My mistake."
"Correct." Y/n says as she stops walking in front of the boy. "You scared of me?" Y/n laughs and waits for the boys answer.
"Would it be bad if I said a little?" Cedric says with a smirk and raised eyebrows.
"I'm not scary, Diggory!" Y/n exclaims, nudging his arm with her fist. "Maybe you're just a scardy cat?"
"Could be," Cedric shrugs.
"Join me in the common room?" Y/n asks, holding her hand out for the boy. Cedric smiles at the girls boldness, happily accepting her hand and walking into the Common Room hand in hand.
THE END
A/n: Hey guys! I hope you liked this! I wanted to write something short and cute, so here it is! Requests are open!

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙚𝙬
Tumblr media
“Tatatataaa!” Hagrid sings, putting both of his arms up to present the creature in front of us.
Trotting towards us is what looks like a horse and eagle all at once. It has the body, hind legs, and tail of a horse, but its front legs, wings, and head closely resembles the features of an eagle.
“Isn’t he beautiful?” Hagrid exclaims happily. “This is Buckbeak. He’s a Hippogriff. They’re very proud creatures, Hippogriffs. Yeh don’t want to insult ‘em cause it might just be the last thing yeh do.”
I watch Buckbeak in awe as he lets out a squawk. He truly is beautiful.
“Right,” Hagrid says eagerly. “Now who wants to go say hello?”
The whole class backs away fearfully, except me, who take a slight step forward at the beautiful creature.
I turn around to Cedric, exchanging a certain look with him, communicating purely with our eyes. He lets out a heavy breath, mouthing a, ‘Fine,’ before stepping forwards with me.
“Come on, Y/N and Cedric,” Hagrid says happily, waving a big hand for the both of us to come forward.
“If I get eaten by this thing, I’m fully blaming it on you, Adair,” Cedric murmurs out from the corner of his mouth as we slowly approach the beast.
“How will you be able to blame me when you’ve already been eaten?” I grin.
He opens his mouth to shoot back, but Hagrid continues to give us directions, and I press a finger to my mouth.
“You might want to listen or else you’ll be Buckbeak’s lunch, Golden Boy.”
“Make sure yeh wait for the hippogriff to make the first move,” Hagrid instructs. “Yeh first have to bow, an’ if he bows back, then yeh may pet him.”
I lower myself into a polite bow, making direct eye contact with the creature, and trying my best not to break it. I can feel my eyes slowly start to water from refraining from blinking. I always lost to Jeremy at staring contests.
‘Any day now, buddy. I can feel my eyes practically sliding out of my sockets.’
As if reading my mind, the hippogriff cocks his head curiously at us, flapping his wings lightly. He finally lets out a friendly squawk before sinking into a low bow.
“Well done, both of you!” Hagrid exclaims cheerfully, tossing Buckbeak what looks like a dead ferret. “Now yeh can touch him. Pat his beak, go on!”
Cedric and I step closer to the hippogriff, placing our hands on his beak delicately as he nuzzles against us, closing his eyes contentedly.
“Congrats, you didn’t become hippogriff chow today,” I grin, and Cedric rolls his eyes, but his lips eventually break out into a smile, his dimples popping up.
“Now, are yeh ready to ride him?” Hagrid says.
“What?” I ask blankly. “No– no, I didn’t agree to this–”
But my protests are pointless as Hagrid picks both me and Cedric up easily, and setting me down behind Cedric on top of the hippogriff.
“Hagrid– Hagrid!” I exclaim, but it’s no use.
“Off you two go then!” he cheers, before slapping the animal’s hind-quarters.
Buckbeak shoots off with a jolt, causing me to let out a shriek of panic and settle my arms around Cedric’s waist for security.
My eyes are snapped tightly shut as I can feel the creature take off higher, and wind pulling my hair back.
“Open your eyes, Clever Girl!” Cedric yells out before letting out a whoop of laughter.
I open my eyes a slit, but widen them when I see my view. We’re flying above the forest– what feels like an endless distance of nothing but green trees. At the end of the forest, I can catch a slight glimpse of the gleaming water of the Black Lake.
I loosen my grip on Cedric’s waist and rest my chin on his shoulder, placing a chaste kiss on his jaw.
“It’s beautiful,” I sigh with ease.
“You’re beautiful,” he replies, before running a hand through his hand nervously.
“Is that you trying to woo me, Diggory?” I grin.
“I think I ‘wooed’ you a long time ago,” he rolls his eyes playfully.
After a few moment of peaceful bliss, Buckbeak decides to land on the edge of the water of the Black Lake, cueing for us to climb off.
I sit down and watch as Cedric grabs a rock, attempting to skip it across the surface of the glimmering water.
He’s not very successful.
“I think you should stick to Quidditch,” I laugh.
“Very funny,” he says sarcastically, walking back and settling to sit down next to me.
We watch in silence as Buckbeak entertains himself by catching a swimming fish in his beak.
“Y’know– I’ve been thinking–” Cedric says, breaking the silence.
“You think?” I raise an eyebrow. “I didn’t know you had a brain in there, Diggory.”
“Har har,” he rolls his eyes.
“Tell me what you were thinking about in that handsome brain of yours, Golden Boy,” I grin, resting my face in the palm of my hand.
“I was thinking about how I really want to be your boyfriend.”
His cheeks immediately flush the deepest shade of maroon I’ve ever seen. I can feel my heart practically beat its way out of my chest, a feeling I can’t decide if I hate or love– I settle on love.
I’m such a nervous wreck– never been like this before. I always dreamed of who my future boyfriend would be when I was a little girl, and I never thought it’d go as perfectly as this– with the boy I can see everything with.
“Well, good news for you,” I say, barely getting my words out. “Because I really want to be your girlfriend.”

Pairing: they’re all in love with you 🤭 x fem!reader (not house-specific)
Featuring: Draco, Theo, Mattheo, Lorenzo
Word count: 2.4k
Based on this request! Thank you :)
TW: none lol welcome to fluff city
Summary: With February 14th quickly approaching, the Slytherin boys fight for your affection in pursuit of being crowned your valentine. Some attempts are better than others, but only one can be the best… and it’s one that you never saw coming.
Tumblr media
“Don’t even think about it, Diggory.” Theo snaps, giving the Hufflepuff a look of utter doom.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, your favorite group of Slytherins have taken it upon themselves to act as your own personal Queen’s Guard.
Many of the Hogwarts boys are scrambling to make you their valentine, each attempt failing as miserably as the last, not unlike this one. The boys can’t fathom sharing you, and they won’t. It’s them, or no one. Cedric silently backs away with his hands raised in surrender.
Mattheo’s got his eyes buried in a book, keeping his stare down as the next suitor approaches you from behind. His voice is threatening enough, there’s no need for him to make eye contact.
“I wouldn’t, McLaggen, if you’d like to keep your neck straight.” Mattheo says, lethally monotone. Cormac scoffs and opens his mouth to retaliate, but not before Mattheo can interrupt him.
“Neck. Straight.” He spits, absent-mindedly making a fist with his right hand. It’s safe to say McLaggen got the message. Theo and Mattheo share a look, shaking their heads in annoyance.
“Oh for fucks sake.” Draco groans, standing from his position to size up one of the Weasley brothers headed your way. “Try and see how quick I’ll make Fred an only-twin.”
“I am Fred, you filthy snake.” He replies, an uncommon bitterness in his voice. His retort admittedly makes you laugh, no one is usually brave enough to fight back. Draco notices your reaction, a muscle flinching in his jaw.
“I care less about your identity than I do about the slugs you’ll be coughing up if you even entertain the idea of asking her.” Draco says, the tension reaching a high.
They stare at each other for a long moment, performing the standoff of a lifetime. You decide it’s time to interfere.
“Sorry, Fred. Maybe next year?” You say apologetically, giving the boy a sympathetic look.
“Over my dead body.” Draco mutters.
When Fred walks away, you glare at each of the boys, rolling your eyes in irritation. “You know, this is why we don’t get invited to things.”
“The missing out is worth knowing you won’t end up with a bloody Gryffindor.” Draco grunts, his eyebrows furrowed and mouth in a scowl. Theo chimes in, throwing an arm around your shoulder.
“Sorry, amore. This is what happens when you’re under our wing.” He laughs, placing a dramatic kiss on the top of your head. Lorenzo nearly spits out his tea, giving the boys a baffled expression.
“You lot are mental if you think we’re not the ones under her wing.” He exclaims, nudging your arm with his. Theo argues with him, listing off all the instances where they’ve protected you.
“I’m gonna stop you right there, mate. You’re literally wearing a bracelet, that you made because she asked you to, with her name on it.” Lorenzo gives Theo a smug smile and laughs to himself.
You shrug to Theo and stand up to leave, taking your bag with you. Mattheo grabs it from you, always being the one to carry your things. You don’t even think about it anymore, it’s just what he does.
Draco walks you to your next class, stopping you at the doorway and turning to you with a defeated look. You already know what’s bothering him.
“You’ll survive.”
“I can’t stop them when I’m in another room.” He grumbles, glaring at the handful of boys entering the classroom. You take his face in your hands, directing his gaze to yours.
“It will take a lot more than a couple of heart-eyes to be my valentine.” You assure him, pinching his cheek before pushing past him into the classroom.
“Oh, if you only knew what’s coming,” he starts, his words dragging on with satisfaction. You whip your head around in suspicion.
“What’d you say?” you ask.
“Oh nothing, love. Go on.” He sends you off with a small wave and a smirk that tells you trouble is coming.
The day has finally arrived and you have long since forgotten Draco’s little quip from that day before class.
You’re all dressed up, your hair styled your favorite way, a glow emitting from your face. You clasp a heart-shaped necklace around your neck, laying it gently on your chest.
Upon entering the Great Hall, you’re immediately swarmed with dozens of boys holding cards and candy, yelling and reaching out to you in desperation. Your eyes widen with panic, your feet staying frozen in place from shock, your books fall to the floor, mixing in with other lost belongings.
Out of the corner of your eye, you spot Mattheo shoving through the small crowd, pulling you into him when he finally gets to you. The rest of the boys go utterly silent at his intimidating presence.
“Go.” A single word, yet you’ve never heard him so threatening before, a look like hell in his stare. His arm snakes around your waist, your heart still coming down from the sudden attention.
Neville throws you a small smile and a subtle wave as he picks up his blue quill and his wand, before he disbands with the rest of the group.
Mattheo turns to you, the bitter glare melting into a nurturing gaze. “I’ll really do it.” he says, you have a feeling you know what he’s implying.
“I don’t doubt that.” You smile up at him, grabbing his hand and letting him lead you to the Slytherin table where Theo, Draco, and Lorenzo have taken place already. They give you your space, creating a seat for you between Draco and Theo.
You look down to the table to discover all your favorite breakfast foods laid out before you, a tiny gasp escaping your mouth. The surprise comes to you pleasantly after the overwhelming ambush. A blushing Theo presents you with a cup of steaming liquid.
“Your favorite meal, and your favorite drink.” He murmurs, carefully placing it in front of you.
“You’re kidding. The coffee we had in Rome?” You asked, your voice coated in disbelief, your eyes still running over every pastry and fruit before you.
“Had it delivered here just for you, bella. And maybe I bribed the house elves to make your breakfast extra special.” He brags. Before you take a bite of your danish, you plant a long, dramatic kiss on his cheek.
“Buon San Valentino, cara mia.” He whispers near your ear, taking in the grin of joy on your face. The other boys start scoffing, making disgusted faces and pretending to be sick as they dig into the treats.
“Let me get this straight- you’re asking our beloved and most precious Y/N to be your valentine by making her scrambled eggs?” Lorenzo jokes, shaking his head in disbelief. Draco’s laugh chimes in, earning a grimace from Theo in return.
“Grazie, love. You’re the best.” You hum, finishing your meal and getting up to leave, Mattheo once again carrying your belongings. You run a hand through Theo’s hair, bidding him a gracious goodbye.
“Who on Merlin’s sacred earth…” a student’s voice echoes behind you as you take in the spectacle.
“The only one who can afford it.” You respond, your voice full of knowing and awe. One minute you were in the hallway, sending Seamus Finnigan away with another valentine rejection.
The next, you were in your common room, every inch of which was adorned with white violets, yours and Draco’s mutual favorite flower.
You feel a presence behind you, a pair of arms wrap around your torso, pulling your back against him.
“Draco, how?” you turn your head up at him to ask, his grip on you tightening until you’re snug against his chest.
“I’d make anything happen for you. It doesn’t matter how. Happy Valentine’s, you perfect pretty thing.” He squeezes you extra hard, earning a bout of laughter from you. The satisfaction on his face is evident by a warm expression.
“I think they make me look rather ravishing,” Lorenzo appears, a handful of the white violets tucked into his hair. Draco sighs in frustration, the moment tarnished by his friend. “It’s too bad they’ll all be dead in two days.”
You release yourself from Draco’s hold, his eyes filled with anger and defeat. He takes an aggressive stride towards Lorenzo, teeth gritted.
“Good, I can bury them with you seeing as you’ll be sharing an expiration date.” Draco retorts.
“You think she’s gonna fall into your arms because of some bloody plants?” Lorenzo mocks.
You let the two boys fight it out, throwing empty threats and cheap insults at each other. In the meantime, you sit on the couch, braiding some flower crowns for you and your friends.
When you brought one to Professor Sprout after lunch, it made her entire day.
Later, your group is sitting in the courtyard enjoying a rare sunny winter day. The heat gives you chills, your skin basking in every second of sunlight.
The boys sit around you in a circle, facing you while sharing gossip on the day’s blossoming couples. Your ears pick up their conversation.
“Yeah, well not everyone wants a damn teddy bear, Theo. It’s not very original.” Mattheo snickers. You find it quite adorable, the sound of them arguing over what makes a sentimental gift.
“Original, hmm. You mean like this?” Lorenzo straightens up while handing you a gift-wrapped box. “Open it, baby.”
Lorenzo may be sweet, but he loves to cross the line, purely for the personal fulfillment of bothering the others. The nickname earns him an immediate smack on the back of his head from Draco, but he only laughs at the blow.
You open the gift wrap to reveal a moving picture frame, the first photo taken a couple summers ago when he was carrying you on his back into the lake by his family’s estate. The way your head is thrown back, and the way his cheeks are marked with sunburn takes you back to a happy time.
You hear an envious whisper come from behind you, no doubt belonging to Theo. “Fuck, that’s a good idea.”
Draco leans his head over your shoulder, giving him a better vantage point. Then, the photos begin to cycle through a gallery of… well, mostly just Lorenzo.
“How are you this thick, Enz? These are just pictures of your putrid face,” Draco jabs, causing Mattheo to grab hold of the frame. He literally falls over laughing, his hands covering his face.
You turn to Lorenzo, a slight embarrassment hinted in his eyes, but proud, nonetheless. “I will treasure this forever. It really screams… you.” You joke, brushing a thumb over his cheek and giving his arm a squeeze, appreciating the attempt.
He mumbles to himself, swatting at Mattheo. “Foul gits.”
The frame later finds a spot on your bookshelf. You meant what you said.
After dinner that evening, Mattheo leads the group out to the pitch bleachers and sits behind you, placing a leg on either side of you. He wraps his robe around you, keeping you warm in the February night, leaning your back on his chest.
A sudden gust of wind blows, knocking over your book bag. Draco scrambles for your stuff, stowing the items away.
A stray piece of crumpled parchment lands next to you, your hand grasping and smoothing it out before it can fly off.
Just as your eyes read the words, an eruption of light explodes in the sky, the colorful shards falling gracefully down. The next few are heart-shaped, reds and pinks illuminating the clouds.
“Are you a firework? Because you make my heart burst.” Mattheo says playfully, nudging his head into the crook of your neck. You scoff at the lame joke, shaking your head.
“You’re the worst and I love you for it.” You poke fun at him before planting a kiss on his temple. “This is really gorgeous, Mattheo. If only my valentine were here to see it.”
“Yeah. Wait, what?!” He exclaims, surprise etched on his every feature.
The others quickly look to you for direction as you beckon them closer. “Look,” you say.
You unfold the piece of paper you found before. “I think my books got mixed with someone else’s when I was flocked this morning.”
Lorenzo grabs the paper, then Draco. He stands up and reads it to himself, his face filled with jealousy and resentment. “It’s got her bloody initials on it.” He states before passing it around, each one reading the passage to themselves:
your heart is cosmic fire
wicked stardust
and I am but pieces of you
“It’s… poetry.” Theo remarks, earning a questioning look from the others, like they’ve never heard of it before. “Romantic poetry. From who?”
“Which one of you did this?!” Mattheo yells, giving each boy dagger eyes.
“It was me, Y/N.” Theo admits, followed by a brief and tense moment of silence.
“With no due respect Nott, you couldn’t even write your own name this nice.” Draco drags. “The handwriting is nearly better than my mum’s. Weird though, quill ink is usually black. This one is blue.”
And then it hits you. The Great Hall. The books on the floor. Everyone’s things getting mixed up from the crowd crush. Mattheo’s rescue, the blue quill, and that soft, endearing glance from…
“Longbottom.” You whisper. The name rolls off your lips, bringing you arguably the biggest smile you’ve worn today. The thing is, the boys know you’re right. Neville the sensitive, Neville the sweet.
“Well that’s just diabolical.” Lorenzo sneers, the group huffing and puffing in defeat.
You read the words again and again, every word imprinting in your memory. He probably didn’t mean for this to get in your hands. In fact, he’s probably off somewhere right now frantically worrying that you found it.
So you won’t tell him. Neville: the unwitting valentine.
You fold the paper up, storing it in your pocket. One by one, you pull each of the boy’s arms towards you, creating a huddle in the bitter cold. Their body heat keeps you warm, their heads all resting on your shoulders and lap.
“I love you guys.” You say, meaning each word as you all continue to watch the fireworks above you. Their collective bitterness was quickly replaced by the desire to be near you.
“And we are very lucky to be loved by you, Y/N.” Draco professes.
As you watch the colorful display, the best memories you have with the boys start to play like a film reel in your head.
All the brawls they’ve gotten in for you, all the times you rescued them from detention, all the pranks you’ve pulled on each other and the countless times they fought over who would marry you… and all the times they promised to keep you safe.
The glow of the fireworks reflects on their faces, unknowing of your loving gaze on each of them. You repeat the sentiment to yourself, the altered phrase hitting closer to home this time.
and I am but pieces of them.

you looked into the mirror at yourself as angelina was finishing your hair and did a couple of changes in your make up. when she was done, you stood up to check the dress that you had bought in hogsmeade, and definitely not because george told you fred was going to wear a suit of the very similar colour.
"you look hot," your friend katie commented. "fred's going to drool when he sees you."
you rolled your eyes but the thought made blood rush into your cheeks.
"well," you sighed, "in case you have forgotten, me and fred aren't going together. i'm going with peter kerridge."
angelina scoffed. "can't believe you said yes to him. he's a complete jerk."
"well, nobody else has asked me. especially not fred," you said deffensively.
"i don't understand why, though," katie frowned. "even a blind person would be able to tell he likes you."
"apparently not," you retorted, enough with the topic of fred. it suddenly hit you how crazy it was to buy wine coloured dress just to match fred. he will probably be busy with his date to even spare you a glance and notice it.
with a sigh and a last look in the mirror, you made your way out of the dorm into the common room.
fred was already there, talking to his brother. just as george told you, the boy you fancied was truly wearing wine-coloured suit and you had to stop yourself from staring because, god, he looked so beautiful.
fred turned around just in time to see you walking down the stairs. his mouth slightly opened as his eyes scanned you up and down.
"you look so divine," he breathed out, reaching for your hand.
you blinked. "me?"
he chuckled. "yes. who else?"
just then, fred looked behind you, drawing his hand back. you turned around to see fred's date. she was very pretty though you hated to admit that. however, her dark blue dress didn't match fred's suit.
jealousy pulsed through your veins at the sight of them intertwining her arms and you looked away, deciding that it was time to meet peter in front of the entrance to the common room.
he looked handsome, peter, i mean. he wasn't bad looking at all, no. a lot of girls wished to be in your shoes at that very moment but your heart didn't pick up its pace when you locked your arms together or when he said you looked beautiful or when he held your waist as you two danced. you could only pretend that he was fred.
speaking of him, fred seemed to have far more fun than you. laughing with his date, george and angelina as you were sulking in chair while peter was getting you drinks.
angelina was right, peter was a complete jerk, talking about himself the whole night while you were only pretending to listen to whatever he was talking about and glancing over at fred across the whole great hall.
when peter approached you with the drinks, you chugged the whole glass in one go. your date stared at you wide-eyed before chuckling and asking if you want to dance again.
you shook your head but he kept bugging you, saying how boring you are and how he thought it was going to be more fun and how he then, standing there in front of you while the alcohol started doing its' job on you, wished he asked the girl that went with fred instead.
you scoffed and rolled your eyes so much that it hurt.
"of course! everybody wants to go with (name)!"
you crossed your arms on your chest and let out a sigh of relief when peter finally left you alone.
harry and ron joined you shortly after. they, just like you, weren't enjoying the night like everyone else. harry was in very similar situation like you, after all. he wanted to go with cho chang who went with cedric diggory and so, the boy spent the entire night glaring in his direction.
few minutes and about thousands of alcohol-filled glasses later, you started to feel your head spin. you were almost certain that if you tried to stood up and walk somewhere, you would most likely fall.
you were so lost in thoughts, staring at your lap and feet that you didn't notice fred approaching you. it was only when he tapped your shoulder that you glanced up at him.
fred didn't take that personally though as he sat down next to you, grinning from ear to ear. "hi."
you raised an eyebrow and blinked drunkely. "yes?" you asked, sounding more rudely than you intended to.
"hi?"
"how are you?"
you scoffed as if it wasn't obvious from your mood. "perfectly fine."
"mhm, yeah, i can see that." he then stood up and handed you his hand. "would you like to dance with me?"
you shrugged, hoping to hide the blush on your cheeks as you stood up and he took your hand into his.
as he dragged you to the dance floor though, you tripped over your feet and you would fall to the ground if fred didn't catch you in time.
he chuckled and said, "alright, dancing might not be the best for you right now," he paused as you placed your head on his shoulder, eyes dropping. "oh, no, love, don't you fall asleep on me. let's get you to your dorm, yeah?"
you hummed and fred lead you out of the great hall up the staircase which was quite difficult for you to walk up. fred would lie if he said if he didn't find you hilarious and absolutely adorable at that moment. but he always did.
"don't you think we'd be in your dorm faster if i gave you a piggyback ride?" he asked.
you nodded and fred bent in his knees so you could get on his back. you wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned your head against his, breathing in his hair shampoo that you loved so much.
you almost fell asleep by the time you arrived in your dorm but once you did, fred sat you down on his bed and carefully took off your heels.
"did you have fun tonight?" fred questioned, tried to keep you awake.
you pouted. "no," you hiccupped. "peter's a dick."
he smiled. "but you knew that when he asked you. why did you go with him?"
"cause you didn't ask me," you said, making fred freeze, glancing up at you.
"we-well," he stuttered, "i didn't know if you'd say yes. you're my best friend. . ."
"you're mine, too," you shrugged and bit your lip. "but maybe i don't want you like a best friend."
fred shook his head. "you have no idea what you're saying, y/n." your heels were off and so he stood up and you did too. you reached to your back for the zipper of your dress and even though you could reach it perfectly, you had an idea.
he was so close to you with his hands now on your almost bare shoulders and you could feel his hot breath on your neck and back. you shuddered but he didn't pull away. you turned around to face him and bumped your nose with his before connecting your lips together.
"could you help me?" you whispered and the good friend freddie was, he nodded and pulled the zipper down.
you really wanted to go further, but fred pushed you away, causing your eyes to widen as you thought, oh no what did i do?
"oh, love, no," he tucked a string of your hair behind your ear before taking your face into his hands, thumbs wiping the tears that fell from your eyes. "i'd love to continue this, but you're so drunk and i'm quite sober. i don't want to take advantage of you."
"you wouldn't," you mumbled and let the straps of your dress fall from your shoulders. fred's cheeks turned redder than his hair at the sight of your bare chest. he turned around to give you privacy and you grinned. "don't worry. i only bought this dress so you could take it off, anyway."
that night was the beginning of something magical.

The atmosphere surrounding the students on the Hogwarts Express differed massively in comparison to your fifth year last year, when everyone was wholly against Harry. Now, however, people whispered in their compartments about how he was right, the Dark Lord had returned. How everything was changing, especially with the rising death toll, wizard and muggle combined.
You were walking to the designated Prefect's compartment, which sat in the middle of the train, with Hermione at your side, your blue and bronze tie clashing with her burgundy and gold one. Your presence at the Ministry that summer prompted the two of you to be topics of few conversations, you sent glares their way.
"What do you think will happen this year?" the Gryffindor girl asked as you both made your way through the throngs of students in the hallway.
"Considering we almost died in June?" you say, a frown painting your face as your mind brings you back to your traumatic time in the Department of Mysteries to aid Harry in saving (and failing to do so) his Godfather. "We'll probably face certain death this year, Mione."
Hermione swatted your arm in feined annoyance at your attempt of a joke. "Don't put that thought into existence Meadow."
You only shrugged as you held the compartment door open for her. Ron was already waiting inside, glaring at Theodore Nott and Pansy Parkinson, who were sat diagonally across from him.
Unlike your Gryffindor companions, you had no issues with the two snakes, in fact they were two people you would consider your closest friends, if it wasn't for the prejudice that went both ways – from your friends and some of their's.
"Stop glaring holes into the sides of their heads, Ron." you scold. "I've told you before, they're my friends. They won't do anything to you."
He said nothing, but he did stop his glaring in favour of greeting the two of you.
The Prefect meeting went on for over an hour and you found yourself zoning out multiple times.
You're going to miss out on important information if you keep daydreaming, tesoro. Theodore. You admired that he was as talented as he was, but it was annoying when he would invade your thoughts. You narrowed your eyes at him.
Stay out of my head, Teddy.
But it's so fun, and so easy. He smirked and turned his attention back to the Head Boy, who was busy assigning roles to the new fifth year prefects. Pansy nudged Theo's arm, breaking his concentration, as she was obviously using her own legillimens ability to berate him. She offered you a smile in apology, which you returned with one of your own.
You'd taken to learning legillimens at the start of fifth year, having read about it in a book you'd taken from the restricted section of the Hogwarts library. You also wanted to protect your mind, especially with the knowledge that Voldemort was back after Harry had returned with Cedric Diggory's dead body at the end of your fourth year.
"Now onto you sixth years." the Head Girl announced. "Like last year, you're going to be paired off for nightly patrols."
She began pairing you off one by one. Hermione was with Ernie Macmillan; Ron was paired with Hannah Abbot; Pansy with your Ravenclaw counterpart and Theodore was paired with you. She then paired off the seventh year prefects before the Head Boy dismissed you all.
~∞~
Ron yawned as he stepped into the corridor. "Thank Merlin that's over. I'm starving."
"You're always hungry, Ronald." Hermione muttered as she walked out behind him, rolling her eyes at his usual ramblings, causing you to laugh at his expense.
"My my, it's a wonder why Dumbledore chose you to be a prefect with that attitude, Weasley." Theodore spoke up from behind you, Pansy at his side, once again shooting you an apologetic smile.
"Piss off, Nott." Ron snarked, turning to face your snickering Slytherin friend, about to take a step towards him when you put a hand on his chest.
"Leave it Ron. He's only trying to get a rise out of you. I'll meet you both in the compartment in a bit." you say, turning to face a smirking Theo with a berating glare.
"Wanted to get me alone, tesoro? Finally. I've waited all these years." he said with a grin, stepping towards you as your Gryffindor friends reluctantly left.
"Don't flatter yourself, Teddy." you say with an eye roll before you turned to Pansy and brought her into a hug. "I've missed you Pans. Good summer?"
"Abysmal." she muttered, sharing a not-so-subtle look with Theo. You looked between them questioningly.
"What happened?" you ask.
Exchanging glancing, they seemed to come to an agreement and Pansy grabbed your hand, dragging you into the closest empty compartment. Theo followed behind the two of you, closing the door and spelling it from unwanted listeners.
"What's with the secrecy? Guys?" you look between them growing more confused by the second.
"Before I tell you, you have to understand, I didn't have a choice, none of us did." Theo emphasises. "I consider you one of my best friends, tesoro. But what I'm about to reveal....it cannot under any circumstances leave this room."
You look at him confused, but the nagging thought that had haunted you all summer suddenly creeped up on your subconscious. Your eyes widened.
"No. Theo don't tell me-" you stutter and he looks away ashamed.
His son is my best friend. My father wants to get into his good graces, I had no choice. Even his voice in your head sounds despondent.
"Oh Teddy." you mumble, wrapping your arms around his waist, hugging him tight.
"I'm to receive the mark during the Christmas holidays." he mumbles dejectively into your hair. "Hell of a Christmas present."
"How good is your legillimens ability?" Pansy asks you. "Can you block people out."
"I have my thoughts locked away into a little mental box, but I'm still working on fully blocking people out." you say, pointedly looking up at Theo, who smiles innocently at you.
"You'll need to practice it then." she says resolutely, but the look on her face indicates nothing pleasant. "Mattheo can help you."
You scoffed. "There is no way Riddle will willingly help me. His father's biggest threat is one of my best friends."
"And you're one of our best friends, Meadow." Pansy says. "Our loyalty to eachother goes both ways. He'll help you, he's the most advanced at it, besides Snape and Dumbledore of course. Trust me."
"What about Harry?" I ask. "And Ron and Hermione, the Order. What am I meant to tell them. They won't be thrilled that I'm taking lessons from you-know-who's son."
"You'll tell them that you're tutoring Mattheo. It's a believable lie. He's shite at Ancient Runes, no matter how much I try to help him." Theo says, nodding his head as a plan forms in his mind. That was true. You don't know how Riddle was still enrolled in that class. "We've already discussed this becoming a possibility. He's more than willing."
"Why are you trusting me with this?" you question, staring between your two friends.
"Like it or not, you're our one way ticket to the right side of this war, tesoro. You know as well as I do that Potter needs as much help as he can get. And you need to protect your mind so that the Dark Lord can't get into your head." Theo says.
"So are you in?" Pansy asks as she heads towards the door. "Because there's no backing out from here, and I really don't want to obliviate one of my dearest friends."
You know the risks. You don't know what this will mean for your current friendships. But you know that Theodore is right. To help Harry, he'll need as much help as possible. Having Theo and Pansy on your side could be a turning point in this brewing war.
"I'm in." you say, nodding your head in agreement. "Just keep the snarky comments to a minimum about Ron, Mione and Harry, please. And relay that message to the rest of your friends too."
"Already done, tesoro." Theo says, ruffling your hair, grinning when you swat his hand away.
You question what he means for a moment when the back of your skull begins to burn with a dull ache. You cradle the back of your neck with your hand, wincing at the sting as Mattheo's deep, raspy voice fills every corner of your mind.
Lessons start tomorrow night, Princess. Don't be late.
He was already in your head, you sighed. It was going to be a long year.
~∞~
You reached the compartment that your other friends occupied at the same time that Harry and Neville seemed to be leaving it.
"Where are you two off to?" you ask as the two boys move away from the open doorway.
"To meet Professor Slughorn." Neville said, although he looked a mixure of nervous and confused.
"Who the hell is that?" you look at Hermione as you go inside, leaving Harry and Neville on their venture.
"New Professor, apparently." she replied. "What took you so long?"
You knew that your friends, minus maybe Harry, had little to no legillimens skills, but nevertheless, you cleared your mind of the conversation you'd had with Theo and Pansy.
"Well Pansy likes a gossip." you said flipantly as you pulled out a book from your never ending bag. "How else are we to know everything that goes on outside of our little circle, now that Lee Jordan is no longer in school?"
Ron and Hermione smile at that, before Ron's face drops.
"Listen, be careful around them this year, yeah." he said, his voice low. "We went to see Fred and George's new shop and watched Malfoy go into Borgin and Burke's with a bunch of known Death Eaters."
Your heart dropped. Theo would be participating in those meeting come Christmas time. That must mean that Draco was already involved.
"Well you know what sort of things they sell there." you say hesitantly. "It probably doesn't mean anything."
Hermione scoffed. "Try telling that to Harry. I think he's convinced that Draco and Riddle have been inducted."
You fall silent shortly after that. The conversation only picking up again when Neville came back to the compartment, Ginny following behind him.
Harry was nowhere in sight.
~∞~
Harry was awol for the rest of the trainride.
When the Hogwarts Express pulled to a stop in Hogsmeade station and you all found a carriage to settle in, he still wasn't there.
"Where on Earth is he?" Mione muttered as the thestrals, that were no longer invisible to you all after Sirius' death, pulled onto the winding road up to the castle.
"He's probably already in a carriage and didn't wait for us. Wouldn't be the first time." Ron assured, although his face betrayed his words as he looked as worried as you and Hermione.
You were unconvinced, and more so when you split off towards the Ravenclaw table when the three of you arrived to the Great Hall and saw, not to your surprise, Mattheo Riddle with bloody and bruised knuckles. As you sat beside Luna Lovegood you felt that same prickling sensation that you did on the train. He was watching you, and he continued to watch you with his cold, unbothered stare through the sorting ceremony and Dumbledore's speech.
Your attention was brought to the doors of the Great Hall where Harry seemed to materialise, Snape's looming figure behind him. But what you noticed the most in the bright glow of floating candles that bothered you more than his lack of punctuality, was the bloody tissue he was dabbing at his recently-fixed broken nose, which he did not have when you last saw him hours earlier.
People stared and whispered as he made his way to where Ron and Hermione were sitting. But your attention was pulled to where Crabbe and Goyle were sat snickering from their seats beside Draco. You narrowed your eyes at Riddle, who was still looking at you.
Got a staring problem, Princess?
Merlin he infuriated you. You focused on him as you thought of your response.
Did you do that to his face?
He smirked. Did I do what?
You didn't give him a response, instead turning your attention to Theo, who was chatting to Lorenzo Berkshire. Did Riddle do that to Harry? You asked and you watched as Theo startled before maintaining the same facade of conversation.
No. It was Draco. Harry was eavesdropping his conversation with Blaise. Matt was with me and Enzo.
Your question was answered, but you were still left unsatisfied. And Riddle's stare had not faltered, which added to your growing bad mood.
Stop fucking staring at me, Riddle. And stay out of my head.
He smirked wickedly and finally looked away, taking the prickling sensation along with him.

you are in love | cedric diggory x fem!reader (part 1)
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Cedric was content with what he had. He was prefect, quidditch captain and the unspoken partner of yours. He wouldn't want to risk a thing with you because everything is so good as it is. But when other students are thrown into the equation, at the end of the day, is he truly yours?
warnings: two dummies in love, reader is a Gryffindor
word count: 2.5k
a/n: This is my first fic published so I'm nervous!! But I'm going to try to make multiple parts for this one because it was just getting too long and I have so many ideas for Cedric (bc we were robbed!) Also not proofread! ₊˚⊹♡
Tumblr media
Fred pushed the list of self made “Prettiest Girls at Hogwarts” in the new first years’ faces. The tiny moving portraits of the Hogwarts girls looked a little silly in the first years’ minds but the twins insisted that pictures solidify their case.
“These are who you lot should be aiming for,” he stated with confidence, utterly prideful of the list, “aside from y/n of course, she’s off limits.”
“Off limits? She said she didn’t have a boyfriend while she toured us though?” a small first year girl chirped. The twins exchanged a knowing look before chuckling slowly.
“The beautiful Gryffindor prefect, my little unknowing friends, is off limits because ah, right on time as usual” George dramatically cocked his head in your direction.
You had been eating your breakfast alone quite peacefully when you felt someone in yellow dawned robes slip into the open seat beside you.
“Cedric Diggory, Hufflepuff prefect, quidditch seeker-“
“And captain” George sang.
“And just all around dream boy. All the girls think he’s bloody fit.” Fred concluded.
“He has kind of an unspoken dibs on y/n. Has had one since last year when they became prefects. No one has even tried to make any advances on her cause of it.”
“Why’s that?” the first years were now all huddled close to the twins, listening with intense interest.
Fred rolled his eyes, “because look at the bloke!” A couple of students from neighbouring tables looked curiously in the direction of the loud proclamation. Looking around he leaned in closer to whisper, “Rumour has it he’s planning to put his name in for the Triwizard Tournament this year too. He’s as fit they come!”
“Not to mention he’s so bloody nice that you can’t even hate the bloke for being so perfect.” George finished as the rest of the table nodded along, absorbing the precious information.
“He’s not perfect you know.” Everyone whipped their head to see Hermione chiming in, not even looking up from her books.
“If he was the dream boy you all say he is, they would’ve been together by now. Personally, I think he’s too comfortable for his own good.”
“What’d you mean by that Hermione?” Fred asked.
She shut her book with a thud and sighed, “Yes he’s attractive in all ways, but how long do you reckon he’s going to keep stringing her along like that? He’s been flirting with her for as long as he’s known her but won’t do anything about it. It’s sad really.”
The twins paused while exchanging confused looks, not understanding what was so sad about the two perfect prefects’ relationship.
“Ugh, boys!” Hermione, exasperated, gave up and opened the thick novel to continue her literature.
It’s not like Cedric didn’t like you. He liked everything about you, but Hermione was right, he was comfortable with how things were. He wasn’t cocky, not in the slightest, but he was always far from worried when it came to you and other guys at the school. Everyone knew about you two, so he’s never been challenged for your attention. He in all honesty, guiltily enjoyed the lack of complication that the two of you had when it came to your relationship status. There wouldn’t be anything to lose if he didn’t start anything, so he stayed in his comfort with you.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
“Morning y/n!” Cedric’s presence instantly made you feel relaxed and warm.
“It’s such a pleasure seeing you here at my house’s table this morning Diggory.” you teased. It wasn’t completely unnatural for Cedric to join you at the Gryffindor table, but he usually felt that as a prefect, sitting at his own house table was almost a requirement.
“I came bearing quite honourable and exciting news y/n,” he was beaming, so excited that it seemed like he was going to jump out of his seat, “I’ve decided to do it this year. I’ve officially made up my mind that I’m going to throw my name out for the Triwizard Tournament.”
He was ecstatic, to say the least, and it was difficult for you to match his energy as you had just heard the worst news you could’ve expected from him. The Tournament has had students die while participating, so it wasn’t surprising that you didn’t want the boy you cared so much about to have a chance at it.
He caught onto your uncertainty fairly quickly; you were obviously smiling but it didn’t reach your eyes. He let out a breath and carefully reached for your hand.
“I know that you may feel hesitant about it but believe me, I know the risks but there is so much for me to gain from this experience. So please trust in me y/n.” his pleading eyes were too difficult to resist.
“I do, I do trust you Cedric,” you mustered as much support as you could in that moment, “the Goblet would be stupid not to choose such a fine competitor.” Your words seemed to satisfy Cedric as he jumped out of his seat, gave you a quick kiss atop of your head and sped off to the Hufflepuff common rooms.
He had made his mind up and the only thing you could possibly do was to try to hex that stupid over-gloried cup in your mind as you prayed to Dumbledore for Cedric’s name not to be pulled.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
The news that students from other schools were coming to Hogwarts excited the masses. It wasn’t every day they got to see such new faces. Especially faces as attractive as the Beauxbaton and Durmstrang students.
Everyone was bursting with excitement in the Great Hall, awaiting anxiously for the foreign students to arrive. You on the other hand were busy glancing at Cedric who was chatting happily with his housemates.
“You’re staring you know.” Hermione’s deadpan voice made your head turn to face her, your eyes lingering just a second longer on the Hufflepuff table.
“Honestly y/n, we have some of the greatest wizarding students coming in for a tournament that only happens every five years and your focus is on Diggory? Merlin y/n if anything, focus on the OWLs instead.” Hermione wasn’t annoyed, but instead truly baffled as to how you could easily ignore such a large celebration for one boy.
You held up your hands in defense, but before you could retort, Dumbledore had already started introducing the new guests.
The vision of blue overwhelmed your senses and you were stunned for a second, only being snapped back to reality by the hollering of the surrounding boys. You shifted in your seat in an attempt to see Cedric’s reaction to the Beauxbaton girls, but the rowdiness of the male students blocked your vision. Sinking back in your seat pouting, you wondered if Cedric was enjoying this as much as the other boys were. I mean, Ron was practically drooling. You didn’t have much time to sulk over the issue as you got simultaneously shoved on both sides by Hermione and Ginny. You craned your neck to see what was causing this female commotion.
“Oh Merlin y/n, it’s Viktor Krum! And he’s even better up close!” Ginny whispered excitedly. You stared at the older boy not really impressed but you giggled with Ginny nonetheless, feeling left out of the Viktor-Krum-is-so-handsome festivities that were happening at the table.
From across the grand path of new students, Cedric stared at you as you giggled and whispered with Ginny. Following your line of sight, his eyes were met with the stiff, soldier-like, famous Viktor Krum. Groaning, he hung his head in his hands as the noises of the Great Hall faded in his ears. He was beginning to think, maybe he was, in fact too cocky when it came to you.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Your friends were whispering excitedly in the courtyard when you had joined them.
“What’s got you lot so excited?” you asked while squeezing to sit between Hermione and Ginny on the ledge.
“Viktor Krum! What else?” Ginny chirped excitedly. Just at the mention of his name, the other girls squealed in pure bliss. You observed your young friends’ excitement happily. You hadn’t had much time to observe the new Hogwarts guests, as the reality of Cedric putting his name into the goblet this year became more and more clear to you. A warm hand delicately tapped your shoulder from behind you, breaking you from your worries temporarily, and you looked up and behind to see Cedric standing behind you while giving you his most infamous, heart-stopping smile.
“Ladies” he nodded to the group of girls in acknowledgement before bringing his full attention to you. Content, you leaned your head back into his chest as you looked up at the boy who seemed to be radiating sunshine.
“Cedric! What are you doing here?” you were beaming. He looked like honey. You couldn’t really describe it, but he was just so warm and so sweet. Beautiful really.  Especially in the courtyard sun.
“I thought you could perhaps lend me your potions books for today?” he grinned lopsidedly at you as you sighed and pulled out the heavy book. How could you ever say no to this boy?
“You’re the champion of my heart y/n, you know that?” you laughed when he clutched his heart with his free arm. Your heart bubbled with warmth. You let yourself bask in the feeling only for a moment when Ginny moved to head back to the common rooms first. Feeling rather amorous, you told her you would meet her back there soon. You wanted to share your bubbly feelings with someone and Ginny always loved listening to it.
“Not just your heart Diggory.” Hermione teased quietly seeing that you were distracted with Ginny for a moment. She gestured Cedric towards a pair of Durmstrang students. One in particular seemed to be taking quite an interest in you. As the Durmstrang boy kept glancing at you, Cedric’s hand on your shoulder unconsciously became a little stiffer and he pulled you a little closer.
Cedric then bent down to reach your ear and whispered lowly, “I really do appreciate it y/n. You’re not only the champion of my heart but also the one who holds my mind, body and soul in all completion.” The cheesiness of his words had you giggling. You knew he didn’t truly mean what he was saying, but the light tinge of pink on your cheeks was evident.
Stretching back up to stand Cedric held his gaze on the Durmstrang boy, feeling rather confident and accomplished as he watched the boy’s friend pat him on the back consolingly as they walked away.
“Oh, Merlin! I forgot that I told Ginny I’d meet her in the common room!” you frantically gathered your things and hollered rushed goodbyes. “Don’t forget to return my potions book Cedric!” you reminded and he chuckled lightly to himself in response.
As your sporadic figure grew smaller in the distance, Hermione turned to face Cedric. “You know Diggory, every guy at Hogwarts may know of your guys’ relationship, but the ones at Durmstrang don’t.” Hermione stated matter-of-factly, making Cedric’s grin falter.
“What’s that supposed to mean Granger?” Frustrated, Hermione groaned, “It means that although the boys at Hogwarts don’t fancy y/n, that doesn’t mean that the boys at Durmstrang won’t. You can’t pull that kind of stunt again with every Durmstrang boy she comes in contact with. Godric, boys are so dim sometimes!” she huffed as she turned on her heel to leave.
Cedric rubbed the back of his neck, feeling quite sheepish for being caught in his rather childish act. Hermione was right though, he wouldn’t be able to keep every single guy away from you. So what was he supposed to do?
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
The night of the choosing of names came all too fast for you. You knew he put in his name. You knew he really wanted this. And for some reason, you felt like you knew he would be picked. This weighed heavily on your mind and you honestly could not for the life of you, pay attention to who the other two victors were.
The paper flew out and Dumbledore caught it. The dread in your stomach increased to a nauseating level, the chatter of the students ringing in your ears and then the room went quiet. It wasn’t actually quiet but suddenly you weren’t able to hear the cheers of your peers as you watched the boy you yearned for so dearly, walk through the aisles in celebratory fashion. Your head started spinning, how many students had entered their names? What were the odds? How was it possible that the one student, the one student that you couldn’t risk being out in that tournament, had gotten picked?
Cedric was on top of the world at that moment. He wasn’t too interested in becoming legendary or glorified through the Tournament but was simply elated to bring pride to the Hufflepuff House. He would be lying though, if he said that he would gladly take on the glory if it meant you would see him as such. Thinking of you, he searched quickly for your head in the crowd. When he finally spotted you, his grin widened but as he saw your fallen and disconnected expression he grew concerned and tried to move his way through the crowd to your spot. Unfortunately, it was a lost cause as the Goblet erupted once more and the wave of confused students swept Cedric further away from you.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
“Krum’s got a yes!” Cedric turned his attention away from his house tablemates to the rowdy group of Durmstrang boys that were chirping excitedly.
“Who’s the lucky woman Viktor? I mean half of this school wants to be your date to the Yule Ball! You have to tell us who you ended up asking!” the boys leaned in eager to hear more about Viktor’s proposal.
“Who else, I asked the pretty Gryffindor I said I would ask.” he replied shortly, seemingly unamused by his friends.
“Bloody hell, he’s asked y/n!” Cedric whipped his head around to the first-year Hufflepuff who had also turned to listen in. Cedric’s facial expression dropped.
Glancing at Cedric nervously one of the older Hufflepuffs questioned the girl, “How in Merlin’s Beard would know that? Krum didn’t even say that he had asked y/n.”
“It’s obvious!” she smiled as she hurriedly reached into her pocket and fished out a piece of paper.
“Prettiest…Girls…At…Hogwarts” one of the Hufflepuffs read aloud slowly. Unbeknownst to you, the twins have not only been solidifying their list with the Gryffindor first years, but ALL the first years.
“Look!” she pointed to your tiny moving portrait on the paper.
“It says right there: y/n, 6th year, Gryffindor. If Viktor Krum had been talking about a pretty Gryffindor, it had had to be her. She’s a prefect, he would absolutely go for her!” the tiny girl smiled proudly at her findings as if she had cracked a hard case.
⋆ ˚。⋆୨♡୧⋆ ˚。⋆
Sitting alone in the Hufflepuff common room, Cedric was deep in thought.
Had Viktor Krum really asked you to the ball? Had you really said yes? He knew he hadn’t asked you at all but he had assumed it was only natural that the two of you would’ve gone together. Right..?
The more he questioned you and himself the more miserable he became.

Katie and Angelina had come back just minutes after you had found your dress in pristine condition. Their exhausted looks from whatever Hooch made them do were replaced by shock.
“Is that- You were able to fix it?” Angelina blurted out, there was a noticeable amount of disbelief in her tone.
“Not me. I didn’t fix it.” You muttered, still looking at the clean fabric. “The twins…did.” You shook your head in disbelief, ignoring how the two girls gave each other knowing stares and smiles.
Katie then pleaded for you to leave the rest up to her, you did. And of course, by some miracle, was able to set you up with a Durmstrang boy for the ball, literally the morning of the event.
It was awkward being set up with a total stranger, but a date is a date.
Plus, you’d never have to talk to whoever this boy is again after this. Hopefully.
It was awkward enough meeting him. You had butchered the poor boys name to his face within the first minute of meeting each other. He had said yours perfectly through his thick accent.
“Poliakoff.” He corrected, you stammered out an apology and he only put up a hand to shush you. “It’s okay. Shall we go in?” He gestured to the entrance doors of the Great Hall when you looked puzzled at him. You nodded and wrapped your arm around his.
It was worse when you finally found where Angelina and Katie were standing with the twins, their dates. The weirded out stares from all of them were unnoticed by Poliakoff, but definitely not by you. It was so pathetically obvious you were just each other’s arm candy.
Poliakoff wasn’t the worst looking guy, but he definitely wasn’t the sharpest, and that seemed to be well-known already.
Even Cedric gave you a befuddled look and nod that said interesting choice when he entered with Cho and all the other selected champions and their dates.
Other than that, the night was going well. You stuck near Katie most of the night, you danced, you cheered and jumped around with the crowd when the band Weird Sisters came out to perform. Katie and you excused yourselves during the band's intermission to go get drinks from the refreshments table, you even were able to talk to Cedric then.
“What on Earth made you choose him?” Cedric gawked as you walked up to the table.
“You know…that is a really great question!” You happily pipped, turning to Katie with a sarcastic smile, “It was Katie's doing, not mine.” Katie scoffed and threw her hands up in defeat.
“Listen, he was the best I could find!” She huffed, crossing her arms in a playful way. “I understand he’s not the smartest but he was one of the better looking Durmstrang boys!”
“Exactly, you got her paired up with a Durmstrang while she's bestfriends with a future Triwizard Tournament winner from Hogwarts.” He grinned, tilting his head in a teasing manner, Katie sighed and shook her head.
“Future winner from Hogwarts.” You nodded slowly as you repeated his words, raising your glass in cheers to him. “Has Cho escaped you yet?” You teased Cedric, not realizing Cho was already making her way over.
Katie nudged you and your eyes went wide, a small amount of embarrassment creeping in when you saw her.
She stopped next to Cedric, letting out a shy wave.
“Cho! You look stunning!” You complimented, hoping to make her feel less tense than she looked. She thanked you, still giving a nervous smile.
“Cedric’s been giving you space to breathe I hope?” You joked.
“Yeah.” She nodded and let out a small laugh, you could see her relax a bit. “Um, you and Fred are having a lot of fun?” She pipped.
“What?” You blurted out. You were confused, honestly confused.
“You came here with Fred, right?” She blankly said, clearly oblivious to your hatred for him.
“Oh, um, no. No, I, uh, I didn’t come here with him. He’s not my date.” You stammered, genuinely surprised she thought that you and him were together.
“Oh! I’m really sorry! I just thought you two had something going on.” She rambled, apologizing more, you played it off with a laugh and shrug.
She then excused herself from the conversation, walking back to the group she was originally in.
“So, your nights been a success?” You let out a heavy breath, looking at Cedric and trying to distract yourself and everyone else from what just happened.
“Oh, it absolutely has. Cho..she…” He trailed off, letting out a happy sigh and looking behind his shoulder at Cho, “She really likes me.” He turned his head back to you with a lovesick grin stuck on his face.
“So, are you and her like…official?” Katie gestured, you looked at her with wide eyes as you nudged her with your elbow, your way of saying don’t be so nosey.
“I’ve got no idea.” Cedric breathed out, “I don’t know how to ask, am I supposed to ask? How am I supposed to?” He talked at such a quick pace, you gave him an apologetic shrug. He was so in love with her, you felt proud? Of him in some weird way.
“Well, I’ve got to get back. You better watch out, Freds been staring you down all night.” He winked and nudged you playfully before walking back to Cho.
He wasn’t lying either, by the time you looked over to where Fred was, he was darting his eyes away from you, going back to nodding at Angelina.
“He’s not wrong. He has been giving you eyes all night.” Katie said as you turned back to her.
“No he hasn’t!” You let out a ‘pfft’ as you waved her off.
“He has.” Katie said, a more serious tone this time. “You just don’t wanna see it. Cho isn’t the only one who thinks you and Fred have something going on behind the scenes.” She sipped her drink.
“You know, I would’ve told Angelina which one was George so you could take Fred.” Katie continued.
“Who thinks that?- Wait, she doesn’t know?” You gaped at her.
“I haven't got the heart to tell her Fred was the one who asked her out. I feel terrible…but I'm praying she’ll figure it out before she makes any moves.” Katie held back a laugh. “Also, plenty of people think that about you and Fred.” She gave you a sympathetic look, you ignored her.
“But what about you and George?” You attempted to switch the topic away from Fred.
“Us? We’re just friends. He clearly has his eyes set on Angelina.” She shrugged, unbothered. “Fred got Angelina, so he just decided to go with me. Anyways, where’s your boy gone off to?” She craned her neck towards the crowd, looking for your date.
You couldn’t remember the last time you saw him. There wasn’t a glimpse of him amongst the crowd.
“I suppose I should go look for him before the slow dancing starts, shouldn’t I?” You sighed, putting down your glass. Katie nodded. She went back into the crowd and you went to go look for your date.
It embarrassingly took ten minutes to find him. After looking through the sea of people in the middle of the room, outside the entrance doors, the staircase, you found him hiding behind a large pillar in an empty hallway. With some Beauxbaton girl. Sticking their tongues down each other's throats.
Neither of them noticed you standing there with a disgusted look, nor when you stormed off back into the Great Hall.
Sulking in a chair at an empty table, you felt stupid for being upset. You didn’t even care for that boy in the first place, but you felt stupid. You felt humiliated. It was embarrassing, being left astray like that, just embarrassing.
You stayed there for the remaining hour of the event. You weren’t sure why you bothered to stay since you were in such a bad mood, most students had left already. There were a few pairs mingling around or slow dancing.
You felt envious, watching Fred dance with Angelina.
You weren’t envious of Angelina, that she was Freds date, or that she got to slow dance with him. You weren’t envious of that, of course not.
You surely were envious that Fred was able to score a date, that he got to have fun until the last hour, and not be abandoned by his date. It hurt. It hurt seeing that. Seeing them. Him.
So, you continued to sit around, resting your head on your hands, staring at the bubbles fizzing in your drink.
“Wow, it’s odd seeing you in that fancy dress.” Freds voice appeared as he stood in front of the table. “Despite being all mopey, you look quite nice.”
“Why are you here? I thought you were with Angelina.” You slowly raised your head to give him a puzzled look.
“I thought she knew I wasn’t George.” He gave an amused look as he nodded behind him, George and Angelina were now slow dancing together, looking much more lovingly at him than she was at Fred. You let out a small amused breath, thinking about what Katie said earlier.
“What’s wrong with you?” He spoke when he noticed your face go back to its inexpressive look.
“Nothing.” You muttered as your eyes darted over to where your now ex-date was dancing with the Beauxbaton, you didn’t mean to point Freds direction to them, giving him a non-verbal answer. Fred clicked his tongue at the sight.
“I knew that geezer wouldn’t be good for you the moment he stepped in with you. Hell, I would’ve been a better date for you, and you hate me.” He sighed and shook his head.
“Yeah, well I didn’t ask for your input.” You muttered.
“I’m just saying.” He lifted up his hands in defense, “You're always holed up on your own, Katie and Angelina are the most people I’ve seen you hang around.” His words made you sit up a bit more, rubbing your arm for comfort, a bit shocked at his words.
“Maybe if you put yourself out there more…you wouldn’t be heartbroken being someone's last resort.” He shrugged, all your movements stopped as you glared at him.
Last resort? Was he fucking serious?
“Excuse me?” You whispered out, he opened his mouth to speak but you cut him off when you stood up.
“Firstly, I was no one's last resort and I am not heartbroken over anyone! Secondly, I don’t hole myself up, I have friends.” You noticed that look in his face, it was a hint of condescending. “And finally, what the fuck is your problem?” You felt your eyes glaze over, you decided to start walking off before the tears came.
“I don’t have a problem! I’m just telling you how it is.” Fred was quick to follow your steps.
"God, you just don’t know when to shut up, do you? Have you always been this insufferable? I swore you were somehow more tolerable when we were younger." You spat, he only let out an amused scoff.
"I reckon what happened is you've just become uptight. People love me, I'm great!" He uncrossed his arms as he followed you up the steps.
“Of course you are! That’s your fucking issue! You’re always great and you’ll always be great.” You stopped where you were on the staircase, whipping around to look at him. You were the one staring down at him this time.
“Everyone loves you and your brother and I can’t see why!” You continued on, “Why doesn’t anyone find you as annoying as I do? Either you’ve got them all under some spell or nobody has the courage to buck up and tell you damn insufferable you are!” Fred blinked back when you pointed your index at him.
“And just because you grabbed me out of the crowd that one night doesn’t mean I have to be your friend or like you! Because all you’ve ever done is make me fucking miserable! With your stupid tricks and pranks! You make people miserable!” The words were like venom spitting off your tongue, you felt awful about it underneath all your rage. Fred looked down and blinked a few more times, like there was something in his eyes.
“Why can’t you just leave me alone? Why’d you even approach me?” You breathed out, your tears were angry and hot. You never realized you were already crying.
“I originally wanted to say that you…” Fred hesitated to speak, opening his mouth and closing it.
“What?” You barked out, you wanted him to say whatever he was going to say so you could finally go back to your bed. Your feet hurt and you felt humiliated, there were already enough eyes from passersby set on the two of you now that you’ve shouted at him.
“That you looked…nevermind. Forget it.” He sniffled and shook his head. “Have a nice night.” He said flatly, turning around and disappearing down a random hallway.
There was a sting that came with his words. You’d never seen this raw version of him. So taken aback, sharing the same bitterness you had towards him. Spitting at you the way you always spat at him.
You’ve struck something in him somewhere in your scolding to see him be actually insulted by what you said.
You let out a breathy sob, you felt almost guilty for it, but you were blind with rage, and he started it. You attempted to swallow back your sobs and keep yourself together until you got back to your dorms, although you were already falling apart, you had already cracked in front of Fred.
Hermione bursted in not long after you, her face matching yours; tear stained with puffy eyes.
“What happened to you?” You accidentally spoke out loud.
“Ron. What about you?” She sniffled.
“Fred.”
“Weasley boys. Can’t give a damn about anybody but themselves.” Hermione muttered, grabbing pajamas out of her drawer before slamming it shut and walking out the room.
Katie’s words rung in your head as you sat in the silent room.
“Cho isn’t the only one who thinks you and Fred have something going on behind the scenes.”
“Plenty of people think that about you and Fred.”
She had to have been exaggerating, no one truly thought that. There was nothing going on “behind the scenes”.
There was nothing but hate for Fred, there was nothing hiding behind your hatred for him.

treat you better - cedric diggory x fem!reader (part 4: the finale)
read first: part 1, 2, 3 summary: all is well in love and friendship wc: 1.4k follow @lovebirdupdates to join my "taglist"
Tumblr media
a/n: dear reader, thank you so much for following this series - i never imagined you would like it so much. i hope you enjoy this final fic, and please do reblog if yes! i’m sad to leave ceddie and harry, but i like how i've ended it :)
The morning after Cedric’s surprise party, you’re woken up by the soft sunlight streaming in through the huge windows of the Hufflepuff common room. Lifting your head up, you hear Cedric grumble, arms tightening around you. The scene feels so cozy that you don’t want to return to reality - but there’s a Herbology midterm coming up, and you’ve never been a natural at the subject, unlike a certain Hufflepuff. And so, you begin extricating yourself from Cedric’s embrace, which is no easy feat.
“How’s it feel to be seventeen, Ceddie?”
You get a groan in response.
“Alright, alright, then you stay put, but I’ve got to go study. I’m not a genius like you,” you tease, squirming in your efforts to slide out of his grasp.
“‘M not a genius, Y/N/N. You help me all the time. Don’t go, I know you’re ready for it, you don’t need anymore studying,” comes a sleepy protest.
“Mm… thank you for your confidence, but I assure you I am not in the least prepared. And what is all this bad advice coming from a prefect,” you raise an eyebrow, before finally slipping out of Cedric’s arms, and standing up immediately to avoid being pulled back in.
You feel the loss of Cedric’s warmth around your shoulders, and it weakens your resolve far more than it should, so you figure you need to leave as soon as possible, before grey eyes melt you into a puddle and back into his chest.
“Oh, fine. Leave me right after spending the night,” Cedric jokes, fully awake at last. He chuckles at the flush on your cheeks from this statement, and dodges your hit to his arm. “Just kidding, darling. Thank you for the party. Now go do what you have to do, I know you’re a busy girl.”
You smile softly, before tiptoeing up to ruffle his hair, and turn to leave. The gray eyes don’t leave you until you’re fully out of sight.
******
Climbing through the portrait hole, you see Ron and Harry sitting on the carpeted floor in front of the hearth, playing Wizard’s Chess, and Hermione engrossed in a book on the nearby couch. The scene is so familiar and comforting that it brings an involuntary smile to your face, before you wipe it off, the fight replaying in your head.
Ron is the first to see you, freezing mid-check, and gives a weak wave. Harry turns, and so does Hermione, with the former also stiffing up, and the latter offering a sweet smile. Hermione then looks back, and, finding the two boys silent, rolls her eyes, and jerks her head in your direction, glaring at them.
Spurned, Ron and Harry stand up, and walk over, looking so dejected that you almost feel sorry for them.
“Y/N - it’s nice to see you again,” Ron begins, his expression sheepish. Harry nods to echo the sentiment.
“We just wanted to apologize for that night. For the mean things we said. None of it was true, and it was of no fault on your end,” Ron confesses.
Your eyes soften, and give him a pat on the shoulder, “thanks Ronnie. And I expect you’ve said the same to ‘Mione?” giving him a pointed look, to which he nods fervently. At this, you offer a smile at last, and seeing this, Ron seems to realize he’s forgiven.
“I’ll give you two some space then,” he says, guiding Hermione away, and leaving Harry alone with you in the Gryffindor Common Room.
Harry gestures for you to sit, and the two of you settle in on the carpet.
“Y/N/N - I’m really, honestly sorry. I had no right to say what I said, and I’ve felt horrid about it every day since then. I know you’ll always have my back, and some Yule Ball date would never change that. I hope you’ll forgive me,” the black haired boy finally blurts, the words spilling out of him.
Your resolve crumbles. I mean, this is Harry. One of your best friends. You could never stay mad at him, no matter how much he messes up. It’s like he said: you have each other’s backs. So you lean forward and hug him, breathing in the smell of broom polish and treacle toffee that you had missed incredibly, feeling the boy physically relax into your touch.
“You really like him, don’t you?” Harry chimes, as you pull out of the hug.
“Yes, I do. And I hope you’re okay with that,” you share, crimson spilling onto your cheeks.
Harry nods, a grin spreading across his face, “I am, really. I know I acted in jealousy at the ball, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually felt romantically towards you - not that you’re unlikeable, you know, just -”
You laugh out loud, cutting him off, and offer a nod, “I get it, don’t stress yourself out, mate.”
He nods in relief, “you’re my best friend, Y/N/N, and that’s it. I love our relationship, and I do not want it to ever change.”
You nod, feeling better than you have in nearly a month.
Ron and Hermione choose that exact moment to enter the room, the guilt of eavesdropping written on their faces. But you’re far too happy to care - the gang’s back together.
******
Over the next month, life returns to normal, or rather, a new normal. Hermione is hanging out with Krum as much as possible, to make the most of their time together before the tournament ends and he returns to Durmstrang. You don’t see her nearly as much anymore, but it’s understandable.
Instead, you spend your days either studying out on the greens with Harry and Ron, or hanging out with Cedric, going to Hogsmeade’s various little cafes.
The second tournament task comes along, and you, Hermione, and Ron are pulled into the headmaster’s office then sent to the bottom of the Black Lake. When you awake, Cedric is treading water to keep the two of you above the lake, and you’re quickly pulled out and given a warm towel. Since Cedric finished first, the two of you rest in the champion seating section, and the boy keeps asking you if you’re okay, despite your fervent exclamations that you’re probably doing better than he is.
His friends soon surround him, arriving with endless teasing about how you’re the person “he’ll sorely miss,” and Cedric flushes scarlet at their words, refusing to meet your eyes. Eventually, he manages to shove them all away, and looks down to see you grinning.
“Ced, just so you know, I would’ve sorely missed you too,” you admit, before pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
Suddenly, Cedric could care less about his friends. He feels warm and dry and cozy, not a trace of the Black Lake’s eeriness on his mind.
******
A few weeks later, and it’s your birthday. Cedric had wracked his brain for ways to top your surprise party for him, and enlisted the help of the trio to do so. Hermione contributed all your likes and dislikes: she knew you like the back of her hand; Ron got Fred and George to put together a little sparkler show for you, and Harry was in charge of inviting all your closest friends.
The day of, you wake up to Cedric’s voice, before he gives you five minutes to pick an outfit, then promptly blindfolds you and leads you out to the courtyard, where the cutest picnic party had been set up. You laugh in delight, ecstatic, and after a quick kiss for Ced, rush over to meet up with your friends.
As you catch up over drinks with them, two boys, one Gryffindor, one Hufflepuff, are standing a distance away, both looking at you with slight smiles.
Soon, the sky is darkening and the party growing more and more uproarious. You spin around to see Harry and Cedric talking, and grin. Strolling over, you place an arm around each. Cedric kisses your hair, and you give Harry a tight hug.
“Thank you for all of this,” you say, “seriously. I’ve never been happier.”
Before they can reply: you were never one for cheesy emotions, you (forcibly) pull them toward the karaoke machine, where Ron and Hermione are singing their hearts out.

She calls me Freddie (Pt. 3)
Tumblr media

(Part 3 - Find all other parts here!)
༺═────────────═༻
A good few weeks passed before your hair fully returned to normal and even though you considered it, you didn’t make Fred dye his again. But you did need to go through a couple more boxes on yourself. After the third cycle, the dye finally faded away to its normal color rather than red, which you welcomed back gratefully.
Even after all the time that had passed, the competitors still weren’t chosen. You all tried to go about your day as normal, but anticipation and excitement quickly began to spread through the school. Everyone, student and staff, was eager to start the tournament. Although everyone had entered within the first few days of the year, the selection wouldn’t be made until tonight, weeks later.
After dinner everyone gathered in the great hall, chatting on about their guesses on who would be the three students. Some of the tables had been set aside and replaced with the wood bleachers, situated so that the goblet was in the center of the room and everyone would have a good view of it. You sat on these bleachers just one seat in front of Fred, leaning back to let his knees support you.
Dumbledore stepped up to the cup and instructed everyone to sit, waiting until they did so to begin speaking. “Now the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the champion selection!” He announced to the now quiet room. Every single one of you were paying attention. The professor waved a hand across the room, dimming the torches until the blue flame was the main source of light.
He stepped toward the cup, staring at it as if willing it to do something. On cue, the blue fire suddenly turned red and spit out a small piece of paper, which Dumbledore caught. “The Durmstrang champion is,” he started, reading off the name. “Viktor Krum!” Cheers came from their table and everyone clapped him on the back. Viktor stood and walked down to the headmaster, shaking his hand.
With no warning, the goblet presented another name, this time written on an elegant piece of parchment lined with gold. “The champion for Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacor!” Fleur stood with a smile, walking towards Dumbledore with applause following her. She shook his hand as well and then off to the next competitor.
“The Hogwarts champion, Cedric Diggory!” The room erupted into cheers as his name was called, being a popular choice amongst the Hogwarts entries. Cedric wore a proud smile, accepting every congratulations he was given on the way up to the rest of the champions. He shook Dumbledore’s hand before joining them.
“I still think I should’ve been able to enter.” Fred complained as the applause died out. You put a hand on his knee sympathetically.
“If only you were a year older.” You told him, still using his legs as the back of a chair. He absentmindedly began to twirl a piece of your hair.
“Excellent! We now have our three champions!” Dumbledore announced. “But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions. This vessel of victory. The Tri-wizard cup!” Everyone’s attention was directed to the end of the hall where the cover was lifted off the trophy. It was a blue and silver cup, decorated elegantly and giving off a bright glow. The entire room applauded once more.
The celebration was suddenly put on hold, heads turning back to the stone goblet. The flame danced again in preparation of a fourth name. It turned red and another piece of paper was shot into the air, falling slowly into the headmaster’s hands.
“Harry Potter,” he read quietly. The entire room turned towards Harry, who sat on your right side. You glanced at him and he met your eyes nervously before looking back in Dumbledore’s direction. “Harry Potter?” He called, scanning the room for the boy.
Harry tried sinking further into his seat and you could feel the dread coming off of him. “Harry Potter!” Dumbledore yelled, finally spotting him.
“For goodness sake, Harry.” Hermione said, reaching down and grabbing his shoulder, pushing him in the right direction. The entire room was silent enough that you could hear the crackling of the fire. Harry reluctantly made his way to the professor, each slow step bringing more tension to the room.
The boy was handed his name and then headed toward the rest of the champions, his eyes moving between all the whispering students around him. The whispers soon turned into protests. “He’s a cheat!” “He’s not even seventeen yet!” Harry slouched, making him look smaller than normal. He passed the teachers, receiving looks from every one of them except for McGonagall who put a hand on his shoulder.
With all four students selected, the flame in the goblet died out until it was extinguished, leaving the room quiet and dark again. Dumbledore seemed to come back to his senses. “You’re all dismissed!” He yelled, hurrying everyone out of the hall so he could attend to the new situation. You gave Harry a sympathetic look, which he didn’t see because he was staring down at the floor, confused. You stood, taking Fred’s hand when he offered and letting him hold yours while you stepped off the bleachers.
“How do you supposed he did it?” Ron asked out in the hallway, now that the crowd dispersed.
“It doesn’t look like he did anything.” You replied. “He looked more confused than we were.”
“You don’t think he figured out a way to enter illegally?” Fred added, walking beside you.
“I don’t think there is a way to enter illegally. And definitely not a way that a fourth-year could figure out. Even Harry.” You responded and Hermione agreed with you. But there wasn’t any way to know for sure what happened until you were told straight from Harry.
─────────────────────────
Time passed in anticipation as everyone waited for the first task to be announced. You were told a couple of days after the champions were chosen that Harry didn’t put his name in the goblet and he would be competing just like the other three. Most people didn’t believe him and were even mad at him for being a competitor, but you stood by your belief. There’s no way he entered on his own.
As far as the first task goes, there would be no telling when or what it would be. It could be days from now or weeks. The one thing this tournament was good at is secrecy.
You sat on the couch in the currently quiet common room, reading one of the books you picked up from the library. During this time of day, most students were out and about, except for you and now Fred. He was silent entering the room until he jumped down onto the couch next to you, making you jump. “God, Fred.” You shook your head, ignoring him and drawing your gaze back down to your book.
He took it from you, setting it down on the table in a way to make sure you wouldn’t lose your page. You crossed your arms, glancing back up at him. “I have a secret.” He crossed his legs, facing you with a dorky smile.
“Oh yeah?” You replied, shifting so that you sat against the arm of the couch.
“But you can’t tell anyone because I’m not really supposed to know.”
“I can’t make any promises.”
“Well, then I can’t tell you, love.” He shrugged, acting like he was getting ready to stand and leave. But even if you were going to tell someone— which you weren’t— he would probably share it with you anyway.
“Fine,” You set a hand on his leg to keep him there. “I won’t tell anyone.”
He looked around him as if there were anyone else in the common room and leaned in close to you, brushing your hair out of the way so he could whisper in your ear. You contained a shiver as his fingers brushed against your neck. “I know what the first task is. “He said, boasting.
You sat back to look him in the eyes, raising an eyebrow. “How?” You asked him skeptically. “No offense, but you’re the last person they would tell.”
“Ok well, I don’t know exactly what it is but I do know what’s in it.” He admitted, his gaze briefly drifting to whatever was near the floor.
“And what is that?”
“Dragons,” he announced, waiting for your reaction. You sat up a little.
“Dragons?”
“Dragons.” He repeated. “And for your information, I said I wasn’t supposed to know. They only told me because my brother—”
“Charlie?” You interrupted, causing Fred to abandon the rest of his sentence.
He sighed, rolling his eyes. “Yes, Charlie’s coming.” He said, already knowing your reaction. You grinned at the news.
“I haven’t seen him since Christmas! When’s he getting here?” You asked, speaking quickly. You had first met Charlie back in your first year and he immediately became an older brother to you. Even after he graduated, you still saw him during the holidays.
“We’re supposed to help him unload the dragons tonight.” Fred explained. “And he specifically instructed us to bring you.” Fred tilted his head toward you, amused at your excitement.
“Of course he did,” You told him, resting an arm on the back of the couch. “Otherwise he’d have to wait to see his favorite sibling again until Christmas.”
Fred shook his head. It was a running joke between you all and after the first few times it was told, it stopped bothering him. “Well, lucky for you. You get to see your favorite Weasley every day.”
You tilted your head, making a face that suggested Fred wasn’t your favorite. Even though evidence would prove otherwise. He scoffed and grabbed you from your spot on the couch, pulling you toward him to tickle you. “I know I didn’t just see you make that face.”
You laughed against your will, squirming to get out of his arms. “Fred, you’re torturing me!” You got out between giggles. You escaped his tickling but he still locked his arms around you, trapping you there.
“Freddie, Let me go!” You begged, using your hands to try and pry his arms off, clearly unsuccessful.
“Not until you take it back,”
“I didn’t even say anything!”
“You know what you did, y/n l/n.” He pouted exaggeratedly, loosening his grip a little when you stopped wiggling.
“Fine. You’re my favorite,” You admitted with a sigh.
“Your favorite what?”
“Freddie!”
“Your favorite what?” He teased you, squeezing you tightly. You turned around in his arms so that you were facing him.
“Okay, you’re my favorite person in the entire world.” you told him, making a stupid face at him. He paused for a split second. That wasn’t the answer he expected. But just as every other time, he snapped out of it quickly.
“Well, I’m flattered.” He replied, letting his hand slide to your shoulders and then down your arms to hold your hands. “And you’ll be happy to hear that you’re my favorite person too.” Fred booped your nose, putting a little smile on your face.
“That’s wonderful news.” You stated simply, taking in the details of the boy you were looking at. God, he really was attractive. And it was a mystery why it took you so long to realize it.
─────────────────────────
After dark, you all had to take a walk through the woods to get to the spot where the dragons were brought in. You, Fred, George, and Ron all came to see Charlie, each of you with a little light at the tip of your wands that acted as a flashlight.
“Where’s Ginny?” You asked, using your wand to see where you were walking.
“Dunno,” George replied with a shrug. “She said she’d see Charlie tomorrow.”
Despite the light he held, Ron tripped over a root and stumbled a few feet before catching himself and standing again. “I mean this with no offense,” He started, brushing himself off. “But why are you here? I mean he’s our brother—” He was cut off by Fred jabbing him with his elbow, sending him a brotherly glare.
“Because clearly he likes me better.” You returned, not bothered by his question. The sound of dragons growling in the distance was now becoming more audible.
“What, that’s ridiculous—” Ron was cut off again by George.
“No, she’s right. He said specifically in his owl that he likes her better than all three of us combined. And he wants her help with the dragons.” He explained to his younger brother.
“And anyway, she was invited. So why don’t you close that big mouth of yours, Ronnie.” Fred said, shoving his brother’s shoulder.
You came up on the spot, first seeing the four huge cages, all covered so that you couldn’t see what was in them. However, you did see a tall red-haired man climbing down from one of them. He beamed when he saw your group.
“Charlie doesn’t prefer her over his own brothers.” Ron mumbled. Fred glanced down at his brother and then gestured to you, who was already greeting Charlie.
“There she is!” He said, pulling you into a huge bear hug. It felt like he waited until you couldn’t breathe to let go of you. Charlie had a grin on his face, which was painted in a thin layer of ash. It spread even into his long red hair he had tied up, revealing the assortment of rings he wore in his ears. “How’s my favorite sibling?”
This was clearly meant to piss of Ron, which worked flawlessly. “She’s not even your sister,” He complained, crossing his arms. You shot him a look.
Charlie glanced at Ron and then Fred, eyeing him with a smirk. “Well, not yet.” He responded, sending a wink in your direction. You felt heat move to your cheeks, even more so at the look on Fred’s face.
“Nice to see you too, Charlie.” Fred responded sarcastically, doing his best to quickly shake off his previous expression.
Once Charlie properly greeted his brothers, he handed out hard leathery coats, gloves, and boots. “What are these for?” Ron asked, putting on the garments. You slipped yours on, letting it fall around you. It was long enough to reach your boots, making it so your whole body was covered.
“That’s to keep you from burning to death when we get a look at these guys,” Charlie responded, patting the cage. “They’re definitely not happy after such a long trip in such a small cage.” Ron visibly gulped and made sure to button up the coat completely.
“That’s small?” George asked, watching his older brother make his way to the first cage. He nodded casually.
“For them, it is.” Charlie added. He was around dragons long enough that he could forget none of this was normal for everyone else. Most people have never even seen one in person.
On each corner of the cage, the cover was held in place by thick chains, which carried a lock just as impressive in size. “Put your hoods on,” Charlie instructed, kneeling down to the first lock. “And make sure you don’t get your face melted. That coat is completely fireproof but anything uncovered is gonna get burned.” He pointed out a little flap on the inside of your coat that you could lift over your face if needed.
Charlie flicked his wand, unlocking the first corner. The chain fell and allowed its portion of the cover to flap a little. The dragon inside rumbled at the movement. “Get ready!” He called, walking over to the next lock where you stood.
He unlocked it and as soon as the chain fell, the cover lifted and fell toward the other side of the cage, revealing the dragon inside. There was absolutely no warning but Charlie somehow grabbed you quickly enough, covering your face and turning you so your back was toward the dragon. Within part of a second, fire surrounded you two, simply bouncing off of your jackets. You felt nothing more than a a sudden wave of heat.
Once it ended, Charlie brushed any remaining flames off of you and turned toward the creature. He spoke firmly to it in a dialect you didn’t recognize, which settled the dragon.
You glanced over at Fred, who stared back at you with wide eyes and his mouth slightly agape. “Bloody hell.” He said quietly, putting a hand to his chest so he could start breathing again.
Charlie spoke like this for a minute until the dragon sat contently in its cage. That’s when you finally got a good look at it. It was absolutely huge, with sharp horns running across its back and down its tail, covering the majority of its body. Charlie wasn’t joking when he said the cage was too small. “A horntail?” You asked, beyond impressed. You received a proud grin from him, as if he was showing you his child.
“Isn’t he beautiful?” He replied, pulling off the rest of the cover. Fred walked to your side reluctantly, not quite trusting that it was done breathing fire.
“I’ve never seen one in person,” you said in absolute awe. It’s huge head turned toward you, eyes focusing on your face for a few moments before losing interest. The dragon turned around in its cage, getting a good look at its new surroundings.
Charlie had you all split up and take a section of the remaining cages at a time. “These ones won’t be so aggressive.” He assured. “The horntail was the hardest of all of them.” You and Charlie walked ahead to get to the next cage, which was parked farther away to avoid conflict between the dragons.
“So, when are you going to start dating my little brother?” Charlie asked suddenly, gesturing to Fred who walked a little ways behind. You snapped your head up to him.
“What are you talking about, Charlie? We’re not dating.” You replied to him, taken aback by his forward question.
“Oh please, y/n.” He said, wiping a bit of ash off his face, which smudged black against his pale skin. “We’ve all been taking bets since your first year.”
You stuttered, clearly not knowing how to respond. He laughed at this, stopping at the corner of the cage.
“If you say you don’t like him even a little then you’re lying.” He said, kneeling down and unlocking the first lock. “And I need you to hurry up and get with him or I’ll lose money to Bill.” Charlie has always been one to say exactly what he was thinking but this was the first time it caught you so off guard. Ron was on the other side and undid the second lock, unveiling a smaller green dragon. This one was quite vocal but didn’t attempt to roast you.
“I’m so glad you know how I feel about him, Charlie.” You replied, crossing your arms. He shrugged and smiled, turning to remove the cover completely.
You noticed George struggling with a cage by himself so you walked over to help him, trying to avoid any further interrogation from his older brother.
“Oi, Fred. Help me with this one!” Charlie called, heading to the last cage. Fred passed you on the way over, nudging you playfully with his elbow. You made a face at him, brining out his wonderful laugh.
You made it to George, shaking your head and sighing as you kneeled down beside him. “God, does everyone think I’m in love with Fred?” You asked sarcastically. George paused for a moment and glanced at you, then returned to his work.
“Yes,” he responded simply. “But to be fair, most of us have a filter. Unlike Charlie” He nodded to the next lock and you moved there.
“I don’t know why everyone assumes that.” You muttered, lifting your wand to the lock in front of you.
“Well, are you?” George questioned, his eyes still focused on his corner of the cage.
“No!” You snapped defensively. But then your eyes drifted to Fred and you weren’t so sure. The sight of him made you feel like melting right there. He looked like he was actually starting to enjoy this, smiling as a smaller red dragon pressed its nose against the cage to greet him. He looked different to you lately. Just looking at him started to make your stomach flip.
George caught your stare. “You sure?”
You sighed, letting your face soften as you watched him. “No,” You said quietly. George looked up at you, surprised that you admitted it.
Do you even know how you feel about him? So much has change since the summer, but maybe that’s exactly why. Maybe you were proving everyone right after all. You paused for a minute before continuing on, looking down at George. “You can’t tell Fred.”
He glanced at his twin and then at you, probably considering wether or not to agree. After a brief moment, he gave you a soft smile. “I won’t, I promise.”
“Thank you, George.” You said, relieved. Charlie came over to your cage and helped you lift the cover completely to reveal a Swedish short snout, which was already fairly calm.
─────────────────────────
It was late when you finally finished since Charlie wanted every dragon to be settled perfectly into their temporary enclosures. “When is the task?” You asked him.
“Two days from now.” He answered casually, giving each dragon a once over.
“And how long are you staying?”
“I’ll be leaving with them once they’re done.” He told you and shoved your shoulder playfully. “But I’ll still see you for Christmas. You’re coming to the burrow, right?”
“I don’t think I have a choice, Charlie.” You said with a chuckle. Fred appeared by your side, resting an arm around your shoulder. “Fred is going to drag me there wether I like it or not.”
“Absolutely correct.” He responded, booping your nose and giving you a stupid perfect smile. Your eyes were stuck on his for a moment, mimicking his soft expression until you thought about your conversation with George. Your gaze drifted to him briefly, only to see his smirk.
Once Charlie was satisfied and absolutely sure all four dragons were taken care of, he let you go. The walk back was long and dark and the woods seemed to be endless. Fred offered an arm to you until you exited the forest, which you took and didn’t let go of even when you reached the castle.
A certain tension hung in the air between you two, there because both of you wanted to say something you couldn’t. Fred broke this with whatever thought was on his mind. “Glad we got to see Charlie.” He said sarcastically, coaxing a quiet laugh out of you.
“I imagine he had the same conversation with you, then?” You inquired, glancing down at the stone floor beneath your feet. The castle was dimly lit but still much brighter than the pitch black of the forest.
“That depends on if we’re thinking of the same conversation.” He responded, avoiding saying the words directly.
“I think we are.”
“I think we are too.”
Out of all your years of knowing Fred, this was the first time your talking flowed almost awkwardly. Normally it came so naturally to you two.
There was a long pause before you spoke again. “He’s just being Charlie though. Just ridiculous.” When you said it, you weren’t sure you meant it as much as before. Honestly, Charlie was likely not being ridiculous at all.
“Yeah, ridiculous.” Fred replied. Was there disappointment in his voice? God, the awkwardness made you want to squirm. That awkwardness was exactly why you didn’t want Fred to know what you said to George. It would ruin the dynamic between you, which was years in the making.
─────────────────────────
The next two days went by quickly and after that night you both seemed to forget about what happened with Charlie. Or at least pretended it didn’t happen. Regardless, both of you were back to normal. That morning the task was finally announced, giving only a couple of hours notice to the spectators.
The stadium, which would hold the event, was already occupied by nearly every student and teacher. You had managed to find and keep three sits for you and the twins, who had decided to hold betting. Once they had gone through every row twice, they finally arrived at your seats. “Look at this! I’m not even mad they canceled Quidditch this year!” Fred yelled over the crowd. You gave him a look, feeling the opposite about the situation.
“Well, I am.” You replied, still irritated that your sport had been put on hold for the year. Fred stopped beside you, letting George move to your other side.
“You’re always mad, Y/n.” George added, leaning over the wood barrier in front of you. Down below on the stadium floor were sharp jagged rocks, crowding the arena. On one end was a large golden egg, sitting just in front of a huge opening where each dragon would enter.
The objective of the task was to capture the egg, which was protected by the dragon. You imagined the type of dragon would be paired to each champion at random. But some would have a harder time than others, given that the horntail for example is much more aggressive than the welsh green and will guard his egg much more fiercely.
Suddenly the canon went off, sending the crowd roaring with more applause. The first competitor was Cedric, who took on the Swedish short snout. He collected his egg and made it out unscathed. Cedric was followed by Viktor Krum with the Chinese fireball and Fleur with the Welsh green.
“Harry has the horntail.” You said, barely audible over the yelling. “That seems hardly fair considering he’s only fourteen!”
“I don’t think they chose it for Harry on purpose.” Fred replied, clearly not as concerned as you were. You sighed and leaned down on the barrier.
Harry was introduced and then entered the stadium and reluctantly, taking in the sight. Everyone cheered when he entered, except for Hermione below you who looked far more worried.
The crowd went still in anticipation. The stadium below you suddenly looked abandoned, showing absolutely no sign of the dragon. You watched Harry make up his mind and make a start toward the egg, only to be stopped immediately by a huge tail swinging and hitting the rock just above his head. The crowd gasped as Harry rolled to the side, barely avoiding it.
The dragon, which you had seen calm only a few nights ago, now climbed the rocks with a huge growl and turned back to Harry. You gripped the wood tightly, Fred taking your hand off it to keep you from getting splintered.
The creature spotted the boy and sent fire in his direction, once again barely missing Harry. He made a run for the egg, followed closely by his opponent. The dragon gave Harry several more blows, swinging its tail and sending him flying. The crowd gasped and you grabbed Fred’s sleeve, clasping a hand over your mouth. It was a miracle he wasn’t just impaled.
Harry ducked behind a rock, just in time to avoid being burned. “Your wand, Harry!” Hermione yelled. “Your wand!” As if he heard her, he lifted his want, shouting a spell you couldn’t hear over the noise.
A few seconds later, a broom came speeding overhead, heading in Harry’s direction. He managed to jump onto it before more of the dragon’s fire reached him. Everyone applauded, Hermione probably the loudest.
Harry flew toward the egg, reaching down and just missing it. “Ooh” came from the crowd as he rose again to turn around, followed by the dragon. Everyone paused, hearing the crunch of metal breaking and seeing the chain falling to the ground, removing the only thing keeping the creature in the stadium.
The pattern in the audience continued with gasps this time as the dragon was freed from the area, forcing Harry to fly out and away from it. They left destruction in their path, nearly taking out the professors.
“Yes!” George cheered.
“Well done, dragon!” Fred followed. Harry and the dragon quickly ducked out of sight, leaving everyone else to wait for their return. It was several minutes before this happened.
Harry appeared over the rocks, his broom sturggling to take him back to the stadium. He ducked down and this time succeeded in taking ahold of the egg, which immediately sent the crowd into shouts and cheers.
─────────────────────────
Everyone met Harry on the walk back, taking turns clapping him on the back. Hermione, who had zero faith in his survival, jumped into his arms. “Well done, Harry!” You congratulated. The boy was still out of breath and covered in dirt and a little blood.
Ron grabbed his shoulders, taking the egg out of his hands and examining it. “Well, how are we going to celebrate?”
“We’ll take care of that, mate.” Fred chimed in, slapping his brother on the back. You could already see a plan forming in the twins’ head. And take care of it, they did.
It was late at night when you finally made it back to the common room, which you entered with Hermione. You were quickly hit with loud music, traveling effortlessly through your ears. The sound made your heart seem to hop right out of your chest, and the sight of the Gryffindors crowded in the common room increased that feeling. It was a miracle McGonagall hadn’t found out about this yet.
“Oh god, what did they do?” Hermione muttered as you stepped into the room. You two were exact opposites in your reaction.
Right through the door, you were grabbed by Fred, who placed a hand carefully on both of your arms. “I was wondering when you would get here, darling.” He told you. Hermione gave you a smirk as he dragged you away, leading you through the sea of Gryffindors.
“Are you drunk, Freddie?” You asked him, knowing full well he acted similar drunk as he did normally, but he wasn’t drunk very often.
“Not yet, love.” He told you with a smile and a wink. You shook your head at him, able to tell by his voice he was sober. “Dance with me, will you?” You obliged, letting him move you with the music. The beat pounded in your ears, syncing with your heart and thumping in your chest.
How they managed to bring in firewhisky was beyond you, but it only took a few drinks to bring you much closer to Fred. You were far from drunk but definitely tipsy. And you could say the same for him. The room around you faded as you pulled him closer to you, his face only inches away. His green eyes were fixed on yours making your heart double its pace. “You’re beautiful,” He said suddenly. His expression was soft and his eyes admiring you.
“What?” You whispered, your hands lifting to his neck. Fred had complimented you before but it sounded like he meant it differently this time. He leaned closer to you, his lips brushing yours delicately. It sent a shock through your body and in that moment all you wanted was to close the space. You could have kissed him, but there were too many drinks involved.
“Fred,” you mumbled, ghosting his lips with his name.
“Hm?”
“We’re drunk.” You told him. Neither of you were really drunk but you were still worried he— you too for that matter— was acting off of the firewhisky. He responded by pulling his face back from yours, respecting your decision without a second question.
“If we’re going to kiss, we’re going to do it sober.” You decided, making him chuckle. The sound made you long for him even more and you were sure if he asked to kiss you, you would let him. But of course, being Fred Weasley, he wasn’t going to ask you again after you told him no.
“I’m going to hold you to that.” He said, gently pressing a long kiss to your forehead. You were grateful he was still holding you because you could’ve melted right there if he wasn’t.
George made his way over, grabbing onto his brother. “Come on, Freddie!” He said and you could immediately tell he was much farther gone. “Sing a song for your girlfriend!” You didn’t even notice what he said since he started to drag Fred away. It was colder now without his warm body beside you.
Fred didn’t need any drinks to oblige in his brother’s request. The music changed and suddenly Fred was on the common room table, singing— more like shouting— the words to you, using his wand as a microphone.
You giggled at the sight, utterly taken by the boy, who blew you an exaggerated kiss. George, Charlie, and everyone else were right this whole time, you were absolutely in love with Fred Weasley.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not a secret for anyone that you and Theo have something going on between you too, everybody know that you guys like eachother,but when will you two finally realize that your feelings are equivalent?
You were in the Slytherin's common room,there was a party going on, Slytherin won a  quidditch game against Gryffindor. Theo was by your side,one hand in your thigh and the other on your waist. Now you're talking with Pansy.
"Did you see Potter's face? It was hilarious" "I know right? Draco really did a good job today" you said as you feel Theo tightening his grip on you.
"Only Draco did a good job,love?" You feel Theo whispering on your ear,"You know you did a good job too, Theo! I'm proud of you" you whispered back and then pansy said"I will get a drink now,bye lovebirds "
Theo starts kissing you at the same time as Pansy go away "I missed you,cara mia" " I missed you too Theo,but you can't just keep doing things like that in public,y'know? We're not a couple,and acting like that will make people think that we're dating"
"And what is the problem in that?" "The problem is that we aren't dating Theo! We're nothing more than friends and you have to put that in your mind" Theo's face gets serious and then he says " Alright then,if you don't want me to do it in public,I won't do it,but I think we should stop this, y'know "
"What do you mean stop this?" "We should stop kissing  and etc,y'know,that's not really a thing that 'friends' are supposed to do" "Alright,if that's what you want. I'm going to crab a drink"
[...]
2 weeks passed since you and Theo had that argument,and still you two haven't talked with each other,even your friends thinks this is bullshit and that you two are being stubborn,but you two don't seen to care. You try to show you don't care,but you've been distant of your friend group recently,and at this point,you think everyone in the group already knows what happened between you and Theo, after telling Pansy about,you knew all the group would know about it too.
This days you even avoided eating with them in the lunch, actually, you've been avoiding going to the great hall.
Now you're in potion class,you're sitting with Cedric,your best friend,even if he's a hufflepuff, you've been friends since forever.
"I think you two like each other,but don't admit it,and keep saying 'oh we're friends,and nothing more' and all this shit,but deep inside,you guys know you're made for each other. You haven't been smiling that much,since you two had that argument and in my opinion,you should talk to each other"
"I know Ced,I like him,but we're just friends and I bet he doesn't even think of me that way"
"You're a dummy for thinking like this"
[...]
More weeks passed by,and you still haven't talked with Theo. You're always looking at each other from across the room,but none of you would say a word.
Today it was having another party,but this one was with the all the Hogwarts's houses.
You were with Cedric,but you got thirsty "Ced,I'm going to grab a drink,okay?" "Okay,I'll be here" "Don't worry,you can go to Cho" "Alright,if you need anything,I'll come as fast as I can"
You went to the kitchen,got your drink and when you were going back to where the party was going on, someone stopped you. "Hello there, beautiful" Cormac smiled at you "Uhm.. hi Cormac,do you need something?" "Just thought that maybe we could hang out some time,love" he says as he get closer "I don't want to, Cormac" "Come on beautiful,you know you want me too" he put his hands on your waist "Get off of me, Cormac " "Oh,come on lov-"
"She said to get off of her" "Come on,mate! You haven't even talked in weeks,so don't bother us"
Theo punched him and said "get out of here before I kill you, idiot"
You and Theo watch as Cormac get out of the kitchen "are you okay?" "Yeah,uhm... I think I'm fine,thank you for helping me" you smile at Theo "Anytime... I missed you "
"I missed you too Theo"
"Your smile is beautiful"
You chuckle "Thank you"
"Listen,I love you,okay? There isn't a time at the day that I don't think about you,you're beautiful,not only your the way you look,but your personality too, you're funny,gentle and very sweet to other, which don't match with Slytherin 'mean personality',and that shows that we don't necessarily need to be mean,and I love the way you smile,I love your hair,and I love your eyes,I love everything in you. And say that we're just friends,but I'm catching across the room,always. You're always in my mind,and I don't know if you feel the same way,you probably don't,but I don't see myself without you"
"Theo,I love you too,so so much,I didn't tell you sooner because I thought you didn't feel the same way I did,and I didn't want to finish what we had,because for me,it was better to stay like that,than lose you forever"
"Your not going to lose me,your the most precious thing I have in my life and I will not let you go"
Theo kisses you while pulling you by your waist,he grabs your thighs put you on the counter,while the kiss get more heated as he pulls you closer. You put one hand in his neck and the other under his shirt.
"Wow,looks like you finally spoke to each other again,huh?" Pansy said chuckling

Words: 2,754
All My Stories
A/n: Hey guys! So I just was on a small vacation, and im about to go on another one, but i wanna post something before I leave bc idk how well tumblr works on my phone, but I also wanted to make a longer story. So there is no promise of me posting all of it, it might have to be 2 parts so im so sorry loll.
Tumblr media
Y/n finishes packing everything she needs for her camping trip. Toothbrush, toothpaste, clothes, hairbrush... Y/n thinks as she places the items in her bag, making sure she has everything she needs. A quiet knock on her door almost distracts her, but she finished her train of thought before she answered the door.
"I need help getting my bag." Y/n's little brother, Aaron, looks up at her with glossy eyes which indicated he was frustrated at something.
"Yeah of course Ronnie." Y/n says as she bends down and picks up her 6 year old brother. "Why so sad?"
"Mom said I can't bring more then 2 stuffed animals to the trip." He says with a trembling lip. "But I wanna bring 3." After he said that, tears broke loose from his eyes, making him stuff his head into Y/n's neck.
"Hey, don't worry about it." Y/n gives her brother a squeeze and he looks up at her. "Just put one in my bag, mom and dad don't have to know." She whispers to him and a huge smile is revealed on his red face and he hugs his sister. Y/n hugs and puts him down to get the stuffed animal he wanted.
Aaron runs back with a stuffed bear and places it on Y/n's bed. He then holds Y/n's hand as they walk to his room to get his bag from the top of his closet. Y/n reaches up on her tippy-toes and grabs it.
"Are you excited to see Leo?" Y/n asks as she turns around and places the bag on the toddlers bed. Leo is Cedric's 6 year old brother. Y/n always thought it was funny how her family and Diggory's family had kids at the same time, like it was planned.
"Yes! I can't wait for me, you, Cedric, and Leo to all play together!" Aaron smiles.
Y/n chuckles and says, "Don't get your hopes up, me and Cedric wont be able to play the whole time, 3 weeks is a while you know." Hearing this, Aaron frowns at the girl with begging eyes. "I can't speak for Cedric but I promise to play with you as much as I can!"
"You better!" He pouts, walking over to Y/n and holds her hand again. "Can we have ice cream before we leave?"
Y/n sighs and thinks for a moment. "Pinky promise you wont tell mom and dad?" She holds out her pinky with her unoccupied hand.
"Promise!" He says as he latches his finger with Y/n's.
~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n leans over and takes her thumb and wipes the chocolate ice cream in the corner of Aaron's mouth. She rolls her eyes playfully at her messy little brother, who almost got the 2 caught. The Y/L/N family was all in the car, heading to the camp ground.
Y/n's parents were talking to each other about the plans for what to make for food. Her dad said something about eggs, which made Y/n think of eating breakfast. She then went into deep thought about the upcoming trip.
She then thinks about the last time Y/n has saw Cedric, which was 5 years ago. She saw the Diggory family quite a lot, Leo and Aaron had a playdate the other week, but not Cedric. He was always too busy with other things to come visit the Y/L/N family.
She thinks about how young they both were, 11 and tiny. She thinks about how different she looked from now, and how it will be the same for Cedric.
Back when Y/n was 11, she thought Cedric was too cool for her until he approached and befriended her. They were at Y/n's house and were playing the whole time. They had the time of their life. By the time it was time for the Diggory's to leave, the 2 young kids were begging their parents to let them have a sleep over. When their parents said no, they said goodbye, not knowing they wouldn't see each other for another 5 years.
Y/n wondered if Cedric ever thought about that time. She hoped he did, Y/n always wished she could see Cedric again. In her first year of Hogwarts, her mind would wonder off in the middle of class, thinking about what he was doing. Little did she know they were both in Hogwarts, but they never saw each other and their parents never talked about it to them.
~~~~~~~~~~~
When the Y/L/N family arrives at the cabin, they notice the Diggory family wasn't there, so they decided to start unpacking the car. Y/n grabs both her and her brothers bags and walks into the cabin. She walks around, counting all the rooms and beds. 2 rooms for the parents, and 2 rooms which both had 2 beds for the kids.
Y/n places the bags on a table, unsure of where else to put them. As she does so, she hears a car turn into the cabin's rocky driveway. "Leo's here!" Aaron shouts, dashing to the front door. Nerves tingle Y/n's body as she waits for her old friend to reveal himself.
As Aaron opens the front door, the Diggory family stands right at the door with bags in their hands. Mr. and Mrs. Diggory's face light up as they see Aaron, who is holding the door open for them. The family walks into the cabin and says their hellos to everyone.
"Y/n! How have you been!" Mrs. Diggory says merrily and holds her arms out for a hug.
"I've been good! And yourself?" Y/n asks, returning her hug.
"I've been better, but I can't wait to spend the next 3 weeks with your family!" She responds, exiting the hug. "Cedric! Come say hi to Y/n! You guys haven't seen each other in forever!" Mrs. Diggory waves the boy over and Y/n gets a good look at him.
He is a lot different looking, his hair was longer, he was much taller, and much handsomer. Y/n wasn't afraid to admit that to herself, but certainly not to other people.
Cedric smiles and nods to the girl, saying, "Hey Y/n."
"Hey Cedric," Y/n returns the smile, "long time no see."
"Yeah, sorry about that, I've been super busy with school." Cedric laughs awkwardly as his mother walks away to say hi to the rest of Y/n's family, leaving the 2 alone.
Cedric looked into Y/n's eyes, taking in how much older she looks. More mature, tanner, and very pretty. Whenever his parents were talking about the Y/L/N family, he would always wonder how Y/n was doing. He felt bad for how much he couldn't see that family and he hoped they didn't think he was avoiding them.
"That's all right, I understand," Y/n gleams at the boy, "we have 3 weeks to catch up." Cedric lets out an airy laugh and nods as Y/n's parents come up to talk to Cedric.
As Cedric and Y/n's parents catch up about Cedric's life, Aaron and Leo run up to everyone. "Mom! Dad! Can me and Leo share a room!" Aaron says, interrupting whatever my Cedric was saying.
"As long as it's okay with Leo's parents." My mom says, fixing a hair on Aaron's head that was sticking up. She then looks to me and Cedric and says, "As long as it's okay with you guys to share a room too." Cedric and Y/n both look at each other and nodded in agreement.
"Yay!" The 2 young boys shout in union, running to one of the bedrooms.
Cedric finishes what he was saying before Aaron interrupted him, and Y/n grabbed Aaron and her bags and brought it to Ronnie's room. She then brings her bag to the other room and sets it on a random bed. She starts unpacking all her clothes, placing them in the empty drawer next to her bed. The 2 beds in the room were on opposite ends, both in corners. Y/n took the left bed, closest to a window.
Y/n finishes up unpacking as she hears the door open wider. She turns her head to the sound and sees Cedric walking into the shared room.
"Damn I wanted that bed." Cedric frowns playfully.
"Shoulda called dibs." Y/n says, shrugging her shoulders. Cedric snickers at the girl and walks over to the other bed. Y/n sits on her bed criss-crossed and watches as the boy starts unpacking his things. Y/n hears the voices of her and Cedric's moms entering the room, so she looks at them.
"Now kids," Mrs. Diggory starts as Cedric turns around and sits on his bed the same way Y/n is, "we know you kids are teenagers, but we are trusting you 2 to not do any-" She stops herself, not knowing a word to say.
"-'stuff'" Y/n's mom finishes. Y/n and Cedric share a look of disgust at their mothers.
"Momm." Y/n says shaking her head and looking away.
"I'm sorry Y/n, but as your mother I need to make sure I don't have a grandchild until I'm much older."
Y/n puts her elbows on her legs and buries her face in her hands. Cedric snorts at the situation, finding it funny how embarrassed Y/n is getting. Y/n hears his laugh and shoots her head at him. "This is not something to be laughing about!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Cedric laughs, putting his hands up in defense. Y/n rolls her eyes jokingly and laughs, looking at the 2 moms still standing at the door.
"They're so cute." Y/n and Cedric hears Cedric's mom whisper to Y/n's mom. After the 2 moms leave, Cedric and Y/n sit in silence for a few seconds. Cedric looks over at Y/n and sees something on her bed. He gets up and walks over to her, making Y/n look at him.
"Need a stuffed bear to sleep?" He asks, grabbing Aaron's bear and holding it up with a smirk. Y/n's face got flushed.
"No," Y/n gets up from her bed and reaches out for the stuffed bear, "it's Ronnies."
"Oh really? Then why was it in your bag?" He says, moving the bear out of reach.
"Because he could only bring 2 stuffed animals, but he wanted 3, so I packed one for him because I'm such a good sister." Y/n says, moving around to get the bear.
"That's a good fake story." Cedric teases. He knew it was true, but he found it funny annoying her about it.
"It's not fake! Ask Ron!" Y/n says defensively. She finally got a hold of the bear and Cedric let go, smirking.
"What ever you say, Bear lover!" Cedric walks away from the girl smiling into the room with the rest of the families. Y/n watches Cedric walk away and shakes her head, tossing the bear back on her bed and then following the boy into the kitchen.
~~~~~~~~~
As the first day was ending, the Y/L/N and Diggory family sat around a fire made by Y/n's dad. Aaron and Leo were running around playing games with each other, Y/n and Cedric laughed at the 2 boys tiring themselves out. Y/n and Cedric were sitting next to each other on a bench facing the fire, making small talk about their lives.
"I'm glad we are on this trip, I don't know what I would be doing this summer." Y/n says, thinking about how she would have been in her room all day.
"Me too," Cedric says as he turns his head to look at Y/n, "I would probably hang with the Weasley's and loose my mind."Y/n looks up at him and laughs, thinking about the crazy Weasley twins.
Aaron runs up to the Y/n and begs, "Can we play hide and seek pleeeeaassee?" Y/n and Cedric look at each other and share a "why not" look.
"Yeah sure, Ronnie. I'll start counting, you guys can hide." Y/n says, purposfully leaving Cedric with the 2 younger boys.
Cedric shakes his head at the girl, "How dare you leave me with them."
"Shoulda called dibs!" Y/n says, watching as Cedric gets dragged by the hands of Aaron and Leo. She covers her eyes with her hands and start counting quietly. "1.. 2.. 3...." Once she got to 30, she gets up and walks away from the fire, feeling the coldness of the night air.
Y/n walks around the semi-dark yard, approaching a set of trees. She spots a yellow shirt peeking from behind a tree, just like the shirt Cedric's little brother was wearing. "Hmm, I wonder where Leo is," She says as she peeks behind the tree.
Leo looks up at Y/n and says, "How did you find me!"
"Lucky guess?" Y/n says as she reaches out for his hand. "I don't want you getting lost in the woods." Leo nods and latches his hand in the girls hand. "Do you know where Ronnie is?" Leo smiles, pulling Y/n over to a tall tower of logs.
Before she could peek behind the logs, a tall figure jumps out at the girl saying, "Boo!"
"AH!" Y/n says quickly before covering her mouth. She looks up at the figure, identifying it as Cedric and slaps his arm. "Do not do that!" The boy laughs and places a hand on the girls shoulder.
"Don't be such a scardy cat." He says as the girl smiles and shoves his hand off her shoulder.
"Whatever." She responds. Aaron walks out behind the pile of logs laughing at his older sister, causing his hair to get ruffled by the older girl.
After more rounds of hide and seek, it was time to go inside and get ready for bed. The adults were putting their youngest children to bed, and Cedric and Y/n were getting ready for bed. Y/n was changing into her pajamas in the bathroom, and Cedric was changing in the bedroom.
Once Cedric was done changing, he walks over to Y/n's bed, picking up the stuffed bear. "I see you kept your brothers bear." He says loud enough for Y/n to hear.
"Oh, I guess I forgot to give it to Ronnie." Y/n calls out, rolling her eyes at the boy.
"Mhmm," Cedric says in a sarcastic tone, taking the stuffed bear over to his side of the room. He sits on his bed with the bear in hand and looks down at it. Y/n opens the bathroom door and looks over at Cedric.
"Oh so now you want the bear?" Y/n jokes as she walks over to her bed.
Cedric nods, "Yeah it's actually a pretty cool bear, I don't think I could sleep without it now." Y/n shakes her head and goes under the covers.
"It's so cold in here." Y/n says aloud, not talking to anyone in particular.
"Put on a jumper." Cedric says, looking at the girl.
"I didn't pack one, I didn't think I would need it." Cedric pauses, then gets up and grabs one of his jumpers. He then tosses it to the girl and she gratefully accepts it. Cedric watches from his bed as the girl puts his jumper on and then goes back under the covers.
Y/n's mom and Cedric's mom peek their heads into the room, which catches the attention of Cedric and Y/n. "Goodnight kids." They both say.
"Goodnight mom." Y/n and Cedric say in union. The 2 moms turn the light off and closes the door. Y/n looks up at the ceiling, thinking about the eventful day, still tired from the long drive.
Cedric looks over at Y/n as he recalls a memory from when they were younger. "Remember when we were running around in your basement and you knocked into your mom's vase?"
Y/n turns her head to the boy, smiling at the memory. She was somewhat surprised that he remembered that. "You remember that?"
"Of course I remember, you have a scar on your arm in the exact spot you hit the table." Y/n's face turns red from how observant he was of the girl. "Did you ever get caught?"
Y/n turns her body to face the boy, responding with, "I said the cat knocked it over, but I don't think my mom believed it."
A breathy laugh came from Cedric and he adjusts his body to face Y/n. "Why haven't I ever seen you at Hogwarts?" Y/n asked. "Were you avoiding me?"
"How could I ever avoid THE Y/n Y/l/n?!" He jokes.
"That's what I was wondering!"
"I'm not sure why you haven't seen me, I'm at Quidditch most the time. Have you gone to any Hufflepuff matches?"
"I've gone to a few Gryffindor ones. I think I went to the one where Hufflepuff beat Gryffindor."
"You're welcome for that win." Cedric winks at Y/n.
"Wait," Y/n thinks for a moment, "you were the one that caught the snitch!" Cedric laughs and nods his head. "Wow I never knew I was in the presence of the king of Quidditch!"
"You might need to get my autograph or people wont believe you've met me!" Y/n snickers and turns her body to face the ceiling. "So Ms. Y/n, why have I not seen you at Hogwarts?"
"I'm not sure, I'm usually outside of my room, hanging with my friends."
"Maybe I've seen you, but not recognized you. You look a lot different you know." Cedric said, emphasizing the word "lot".
"In a good way, I hope." Y/n laughs.
"Yes," Cedric pauses for a second, still facing the girl. "in a good way."
Y/n smiles and says, "You look different too, you don't have those big glasses you used to have."
"You did not need to bring that up."
"Too late." Y/n smiles and blinks tiredly. There was a moment of silence before Y/n said, "Goodnight Cedric."
"Goodnight, bear lover." Cedric says, even though he is still holding the stuffed bear in his hand.
END OF PART 1
Not pre-read!
A/n: Hey guys! I'm going to be writing more tonight, but I can't promise to post it until I'm back from vacation, so I hoped you liked this! If it wasn't clear, Y/n and Cedric found out they went to the same school when they were talking at the fire. Thank you for reading and I'll be starting on the next part!
𝘾𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡
Tumblr media
hi !! this is my first actual post on here that isn't just me rambling, and it's a little scene from my fic on wattpad, and i think it's so cute it's actually sickening.
The Hufflepuff common room is ethereal. The room is round with low ceilings and circular windows lining its walls. The afternoon sun beams through them, brightening up the room. The walls are adorned with honey colored hangings, and there are shelves where beautiful potted plants sit upon.
The four Hufflepuffs immediately find their spot in the back of the room, and sit down at their table.
"Your common room makes ours seem lame," I say, still taking it all in.
"It's cozy," Ernie says. "Always feels like home."
Justin starts a match of wizards' chess, which we take turns playing as we wait for Cedric's return.
Everytime the entrance to the common room opens, I find myself turning to look at it, to see if it's him. And every time, I'm disappointed.
Until it's finally him, and I can feel my heart beating stronger, my skin feeling warmer, and my head spinning faster.
"Hi Clever Girl," he grins, taking the seat next to me.
"Hi Golden Boy."
"So, what did Captain say?" Rolf asks.
"Wouldn't you like to know, Rolfie?" Hannah teases, causing him to give her a light shove.
"She's definitely disappointed," Cedric sighs. "But proud of us nonetheless."
"Maybe if I was on the team," Rolf says jokingly.
"Okay, Rolf," Justin snorts.
"Your brother," Cedric turns to me. "Is a bloody good Chaser. He wore out all of our Chasers last year, and he did so again this year."
"I'm not telling him you said that," I laugh. "It's only going to inflate his ego."
"You should join Gryffindor's Quidditch team," he says suddenly. "You'd honestly be a brilliant Chaser."
"I can barely ride a broom without crashing," I say. "Let alone throw around a Quaffle while riding it."
"I can see it," he continues, ignoring what I just said. "Y/N, Gryffindor's Chaser."
"Maybe," I shrug. "But definitely not this year."
"Next year?" he grins mischievously.
"Not next year either."
"Are you going to wait until I graduate before you try out?" he says, his tone playful. "I want to see you on the pitch, Clever Girl."
"I think I'll stick to the stands," I smile. "You stay on the pitch."
"I guess I could agree to that," he sighs, acting overly dramatic. "Only if you promise that you'll always be in the stands every time I'm on the pitch."
"I promise."
I'll Love You 'til the Grass Around My Gravestone is Deceased
post azkaban sirius black x fem!reader
CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE (see full series list here)
Tumblr media
1993
The walls of the Hall have all been covered in sparkling silver frost, with hundreds of garlands of mistletoe and ivy crossing the starry black ceiling. The House tables have vanished; instead, there are about a hundred smaller, lantern-lit ones, each seating about a dozen people. Enchanted snowflakes fall gently through the air, melting before they hit the ground.
The champions enter the room, lead by Minerva, with their partners, and your eyes immediately fall on Harry, who looks like he's very focused on not tripping over his own feet. On his arm, is his fellow Gryffindor, Parvati Patil. She seems to be in her element, beaming out at everyone as they make their way up the Hall towards the top table where the judges are seated.
Cedric Diggory walks with Cho Chang, Fleur Delacour with Roger Davies, and to your shock, Viktor Krum with Hermione. She's wearing a beautiful, flowy, periwinkle blue dress and she's slicked her hair back into an elegant bun at the back of her head. She smiles nervously at you and you even notice that something's different about her smile — her front teeth are far smaller than before.
They reach the top table and you spy Percy Weasley sitting in the fifth chair at the table, looking very well-to-do as Harry takes a seat beside him.
"Why is Percy Weasley here?" You say to Minerva as she sits down beside you at your less important staff table. You wish you were up at that top table and could get a few digs in at Karkaroff, keep an eye on him, but you're stuck here instead with the rest of the teachers. "And where's Crouch?"
"He's ill, apparently," she replies, glancing up at the table. "Weasley has come as his representative."
"I can't say I'm unhappy that he's absent," you say quietly, as you pluck your menu from the table and give it a once-over. "He'd put a damper on the mood."
Minerva nods. "He is quite sour, isn't he?"
You're not quite sure what to do with your menu — there's no waiters and the plates are empty. Then, to your rescue, Dumbledore looks pointedly at his plate and says very loud and clear, "Pork chops!"
And pork chops appear. Getting the idea, everyone else starts placing their orders with their plates and food appears.
Hagrid sits beside you, gazing up at the top table before giving a small wave. Following his eye line, you see Madame Maxime return it and you can't help but smile at the exchange. How cute.
When everyone has finished eating, Dumbledore stands up and motions for everyone to do the same. With a wave of his hand, all the tables are pushed up against the walls, then he conjures up a stage along the right wall, various instruments set on it.
The Weird Sisters troop onto stage, dressed in black robes that are artfully ripped and tattered and torn, and pick up their instruments. The champions and their partners stand up, and you catch Harry tripping over his dress robes as he stands up, before walking out onto the floor with Parvati.
The champions dance for about half a minute before Dumbledore steps out onto the floor, taking Madame Maxime with him. He's so dwarfed by her that the top of his pointy hat is just barely brushing the tip of her chin.
You extend your hand out to Minerva, bowing lowly with the other behind your back. "Care for a dance?"
She places he hand on yours, smiling, leading you gracefully out onto the floor. By now, nearly everyone has joined in and is dancing together on the floor. Even Moody is doing an extremely clumsy two-step with Professor Vector, who is nervously avoiding his wooden leg. You raise your eyebrows at her as you pass and she gives a look that suggests she'd rather jump off the Astronomy Tower than continue dancing with Moody.
You have quite an enjoyable night, swapping partners every dance and dancing with nearly every teacher in the school, except for Snape, Moody, and Karkaroff, who you warily avoid like the plague — but who also seem to be avoiding the dance floor entirely.
Out of breath, you make your way outside for some fresh air, loitering beside the freshly trimmed rose bushes that are glittering with fairy lights. You bend down slightly and bring one rose to your nose, inhaling its sweet flowery scent, when you hear a voice that positively grates your ears.
"...don't see what there is to fuss about, Igor."
"Severus, you cannot pretend this isn't happening!" Comes Karkaroff's anxious and hushed voice. "It's been getting clearer and clearer for months. I am becoming seriously concerned, I can't deny it — "
"Then flee," Snape says curtly. "Flee — I will make your excuses. I, however, am remaining at Hogwarts."
Snape and Karkaroff come around the corner, Snape blasting rose bushes apart with his wand. He blasts the one next to you, and two students sprint away from out behind it.
"Ten points from Ravenclaw, Fawcett!" He snarls as the girl runs past him. "And ten from Hufflepuff, too, Stebbins!" His eyes land on you and he fails to hide his grimace. "And what are you doing out here?"
"Getting some fresh air," you respond simply, crossing your arms. "And what are you doing out here, Severus?"
"Ah, well, excuse me," Karkaroff says nervously, brushing past you with a polite smile. "I should get back to the party..."
You raise your eyebrows, turning back to Snape's scowling face expectantly.
"I am doing my job," he says snippily. "Perhaps you ought to do the same and watch the students inside, rather than coming outside for a little personal excursion."
"Is your head on a little excursion up your own — "
Madame Maxime suddenly rushes past you, eyes on the ground and looking very put-out. She passes you and disappears into the Entrance Hall.
" — arse?"
Snape's nostrils flare and for a second he looks like he's about to jinx you, but instead he just bristles past you, purposefully knocking your shoulder as he passes.
Later, when the Weird Sisters play their final song at midnight, several students make their way out of the Great Hall and you too follow in their footsteps out into the Entrance Hall. However, just as you've left the Great Hall, you spot Karkaroff skulking up the stairs, glancing around him furtively like he's got something to hide.
Intrigued, you follow him up the stairs, keeping a small gap between the two of you and looking away when he glances back at you. Then he veers off to the left into another corridor, walking fast, and just as you're about to follow him you hear muffled crying coming from the next flight of stairs.
You look up and there, sitting on one of the steps with her head in her knees, is Hermione, her body shaking with sobs. You should go make sure she's alright.
But this might be your chance to see what Karkaroff's up to! You look down the corridor at Karkaroff, your opportunity to keep up with him quickly slipping the more time you dwell on your decision.
You look back at Hermione, and her sobs take over your judgement and you hurry up the stairs towards her. You sit down on the step beside her, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"Hermione?"
She lifts her head, eyes widening madly when she sees you. "P-professor!"
"Relax, Hermione," you say gently. "What happened?"
She bites her lip and looks away from you, drawing in a shaky breath and shaking her head. "N-nothing, nothing at all. It's s-silly, really."
You rub your hand along her arm soothingly. "Was it a boy?"
Her eyebrows raise slightly. "I told you it was silly."
You give her a sympathetic smile. "Been there. Teenage boys are stupid, Hermione. They were stupid when I was young and they're stupid now."
She sighs. "Do they ever stop being stupid?"
You give a light chuckle. "Eventually. Eventually they grow up and mature and start to actually use their heads."
You sigh, pulling her closer to you so she can rest her head on your shoulder as you continue to rub her arm soothingly. "You look beautiful tonight, Hermione. I can't believe how grown up you look."
"It's tiring," she says softly. "My hair took so long to do and it didn't even last the night." She gestures to her hair, which has become more dishevelled than it was at the start of the night, wisps of hair slipping out of the elegant knot and brushing her shoulders.
"I know. I have a million pins in mine and I haven't even got a date tonight!"
Hermione chuckles and you sigh, shaking your head. She yawns loudly, her eyelids drooping sleepily.
You pat her shoulder. "Alright, off to bed with you. I'm surprised you haven't collapsed yet with the amount of times I seen you out on the dance floor."
✧*。✧*。
A few days before the first day of term after Christmas, you sit at the staff table during breakfast, watching patiently as the post arrives. A barn owl swoops through the air towards you, dropping a copy of The Daily Prophet on the table in front of you. You grab it, pulling the twine off of it and unfolding it to read the front page.
DUMBLEDORE'S GIANT MISTAKE
Albus Dumbledore, eccentric Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, has never been afraid to make controversial staff appointments, writes Rita Skeeter, Special Correspondent. In September of this year, he hired Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, the notoriously jinx-happy ex-Auror, to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, a decision that caused many raised eyebrows at the Ministry of Magic, given Moody’s well-known habit of attacking anybody who makes a sudden movement in his presence. Mad-Eye Moody, however, looks responsible and kindly when set beside the part-human Dumbledore employs to teach Care of Magical Creatures.
Rubeus Hagrid, who admits to being expelled from Hogwarts in his third year, has enjoyed the position of gamekeeper at the school ever since, a job secured for him by Dumbledore. Last year, however, Hagrid used his mysterious influence over the headmaster to secure the additional post of Care of Magical Creatures teacher, over the heads of many better-qualified candidates.
An alarmingly large and ferocious-looking man, Hagrid has been using his newfound authority to terrify the students in his care with a succession of horrific creatures. While Dumbledore turns a blind eye, Hagrid has maimed several pupils during a series of lessons that many admit to being "very frightening."
"I was attacked by a hippogriff, and my friend Vincent Crabbe got a bad bite off a flobberworm," says Draco Malfoy, a fourth-year student. "We all hate Hagrid, but we’re just too scared to say anything."
Hagrid has no intention of ceasing his campaign of intimidation, however. In conversation with a Daily Prophet reporter last month, he admitted breeding creatures he has dubbed "Blast-Ended Skrewts," highly dangerous crosses between manticores and fire-crabs. The creation of new breeds of magical creature is, of course, an activity usually closely observed by the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Hagrid, however, considers himself to be above such petty restrictions. "I was just having some fun," he says, before hastily changing the subject.
As if this were not enough, the Daily Prophet has now unearthed evidence that Hagrid is not — as he has always pretended — a pure-blood wizard. He is not, in fact, even pure human. His mother, we can exclusively reveal, is none other than the giantess Fridwulfa, whose whereabouts are currently unknown.
Bloodthirsty and brutal, the giants brought themselves to the point of extinction by warring amongst themselves during the last century. The handful that remained joined the ranks of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and were responsible for some of the worst mass Muggle killings of his reign of terror.
While many of the giants who served He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named were killed by Aurors working against the Dark Side, Fridwulfa was not among them. It is possible she escaped to one of the giant communities still existing in foreign mountain ranges. If his antics during Care of Magical Creatures lessons are any guide, however, Fridwulfa’s son appears to have inherited her brutal nature.
In a bizarre twist, Hagrid is reputed to have developed a close friendship with the boy who brought around You-Know-Who’s fall from power — thereby driving Hagrid’s own mother, like the rest of You-Know-Who’s supporters, into hiding. Perhaps Harry Potter is unaware of the unpleasant truth about his large friend — but Albus Dumbledore surely has a duty to ensure that Harry Potter, along with his fellow students, is warned about the dangers of associating with part-giants.
You mouth drops open and you hurriedly nudge Minerva beside you, shoving the paper in her face. You watch as her eyes travel down the page and her frown deepens as she reads on.
"What a horrid woman," she spits, folding the paper disapprovingly and handing it back to you. "That explains why Hagrid isn't at breakfast this morning."
You glance down the table, noticing the clear absence of the large man.
"How dare she?" you snap, feeling your anger flare. "Come into this school just to spread such a thing...why, the next time I see her — "
"You'll hold your tongue," Minerva cuts across warningly, giving you a wary look. "You'll hold your tongue and you won't get involved."
"Why shouldn't I? Someone needs to put her in her place and — "
"You know why." She glances down the table, sighing. "If you get on that woman's bad side, she will pull up everything she can on you. Absolutely everything. You know well you will not survive that."
You bite your lip, sighing dejectedly. "You're right...I just — she deserves to be humbled."
Minerva hums in agreement. "I know, I know."
“COME ON, [Y/N], you’ll be late!” Hannah Abbott exclaimed, grabbing her bag as you waved her off, the blonde girl exiting the dorm and closing the door behind her.
You ran your hands through your hair, looking down at your half-naked body as you sighed in frustration, staring at your stomach, your belly fat slightly spilling out of your skirt. Glimpsing at the full-length mirror by Hannah’s bed, your figure went rigid as your expression crumpled.
Every morning after Hannah left, you always found yourself staring at the mirror in your room, pointing out your flaws and imperfections. Broad shoulders, an undefined waist, thick thighs—you could never win. And, unsurprisingly, you couldn’t help but compare your friends’ bodies with yours. They were slim, pretty, and had curves in all the right places.
You had curves in all the wrong places.
You gulped down any emotion that rose in your throat, snatching your shirt off your bed as you buttoned it up quickly, loosely tying your Hufflepuff tie around your collar. You wore the rest of your uniform, adjusting it so your belly wasn’t on display through your robes. You checked your appearance, turning to see your back in the mirror. You bit your bottom lip, rubbing your eyes before wearing your Doc Martens, taking your back as you walked out of your dorm with discomfort.
Exiting Hufflepuff House, you saw many people still in the hallways as your legs slowed, feeling self-conscious, ultimately holding on to your bag strap before you continued your journey. You shoved your other hand in your pocket, hearing numerous conversations throughout the hallway. You gathered that none of them were about you, but your overthinking had already driven your mind crazy as you kept to yourself, hurrying to Potions to greet your new Professor, Horace Slughorn.
Tumblr media
You stood next to Hannah at the back of the classroom, trying to listen to Slughorn’s lecture as he displayed the numerous potions before you. However, you set your mind in overdrive once you glanced at Hannah’s side profile, staring at your Potions textbook as you pressed your lips together.
Hannah didn’t have chubby cheeks like you, nor did she have your notorious stomach dip—which you hid with your robes. Hannah (her smile, curves, hair, body) was beautiful. Again, you knew you shouldn’t be comparing yourself to your friends, who were always kind to you, but you couldn’t control your thoughts. One would say they were an unstoppable force of nature.
But there was only one person who could pull you out of them.
“Sorry, sir, I haven’t got my book yet. Nor has Ron,” the voice stated, causing you to look up, straightening your posture as Slughorn mentioned the two Gryffindors could look through the cupboards.
The two Gryffindors consisted of Ron Weasley and Harry Potter. You knew them both, but Harry was the one you had eyes for.
Shamefully, you kept your eyes on Harry, hugging your Advanced Potions textbook tighter as your lips curled up at him and Ron fighting over something, Ron seeming to win as the brunette boy rolled his eyes, walking to the back of the classroom. You kept your gaze down as you did so, pressing your lips together again.
But you didn’t realise that Harry had stood next to you.
Here is a brief history of you and the supposed Chosen One. You have had a massive crush on Harry since third year after he asked you for help with his Charms homework. You complied, thinking he would forget about your existence the next day. That was what you were used to whenever a boy spoke to you, so if he did, you wouldn’t care.
But Harry didn’t forget about you.
“Hey, stranger,” he whispered as you glanced at him, a gorgeous smile on his face as you smiled back, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. Harry, who stood at 6’0”, towered over you as he spoke, “I haven’t spoken to you in ages.”
“You saw me on the train last night,” you murmured sheepishly. You couldn’t help but stare into his ethereal, evergreen eyes, feeling lost as you held onto reality.
“I did, but I couldn’t speak to you,” he countered, his friendly smile still lingering, “So I’m saying hello now.” You nodded, your cheeks warming as you chuckled.
“Ah, okay. Well, hello, Harry. How has your morning been?” you replied, greeting him correctly as he laughed softly.
“Utterly fantastic,” he muttered, looking at you intently. “And what about you, [Y/N]?”
Merlin, the way he says my name, you thought, smiling as you cursed yourself for thinking such things.
“Utterly fantastic,” you repeated as he nodded, the both of you falling into a comfortable silence. He was the first to look away, opening his textbook as he tuned into Hermione Granger’s explanation of Amortentia.
Despite him, you took longer to examine his features, watching his forehead crease as Hermione talked about the potion’s smell. You smiled subtly, pulling your eyes away as you looked down, squealing internally.
However, your friend, Hannah, turned towards Harry, her lips curling as she opened her mouth. “Hey, Harry. I thought you weren’t taking Potions?” Hannah asked, her voice soft as you looked at her. You glanced at Harry, noting his eyes were already on her as you deflated slightly.
“Oh, uh, yeah. Professor McGonagall insisted,” he shrugged, a polite smile on his face. His eyes momentarily lingered before he turned to Slughorn, taking in his words. Hannah leaned down, giggling into your ear.
“He looks extra delicious this year,” she commented as you nodded. Once she pulled away, you looked at your shoes, sighing softly as your mood dampened. You didn’t know why it had suddenly soured, but anyone could gather that you had become insecure because of your roommate. Once again, it was petty of you to think such things, but you couldn’t help it. When your eyes took a brief picture of the room, it was notable that many girls had/used to have eyes on Harry—Romilda Vane, Cho Chang, Parvati Patil, and others throughout the year.
They were all stunning.
What words could describe you?
As you unintentionally kept your head down for the rest of the lesson, your throat becoming raw as you gulped, Harry furrowed his eyebrows at your saddened mood, wanting to ask what had happened. But he couldn’t—Professor Slughorn had already set the task. And before he could ask you to sit at the same table as him, you’d already walked off to your friend Leanne, who waved you over in the first place.
Even though you didn’t notice, Harry’s eyes followed your every move as you smiled at Leanne. Anyone could easily say that you’re fine just by seeing the grin on your face.
Albeit, Harry had observed that your eyes didn’t smile like your lips.
He began to frown once he saw, wanting to pull you back, but he knew that would raise questions among his friends and be slightly inappropriate. You and Harry knew each other well but not sufficiently for hand-holding. He couldn’t have you being uncomfortable.
So, he pocketed his thoughts for later.
For some unknown reason, you always found the Black Lake your safe space whenever you walked on the Hogwarts grounds. In all honesty, it was a calming oasis of sorts, entirely different to the everyday commotion surrounding the wondrous castle.
As you hummed to yourself, attracting a crossbill (a breed of bird) in the process, you took out your journal, writing down a few things you learned today as active recall.
The Draught of Living Death is impossible to make. But, the way of getting the juice of a Sopophorous bean was to crush the ingredient with a blade. I shouldn’t cut it.
The wand movement for the Aguamenti Charm was a smooth wave movement from right to left.
Harry James Potter was the definition of sarcasm.
Your quill almost stabbed the pages of your diary as you snapped out of your daze, wondering what in Merlin’s name you were writing. You leaned your head against the oak, your memory flitting to Harry and Professor Snape’s little interaction earlier today.
Today’s DADA lesson included the practice of non-verbal spells. In other words, this sort of magic was unsurprisingly complex—you could’ve sworn your brain nearly ripped apart when you attempted to disarm your friend, Cho Chang, today. Truth be told, you were never good at this subject. Professor Lupin was much more friendly in your case, and you’d improved massively during third year. Nonetheless, after he resigned, your grade dropped quite a few marks.
During DADA, when Ron and Harry attempted to disarm each other non-verbally, Snape interfered, telling Ron he was doing it all wrong. And to Harry’s dismay, Snape’s stance was a little aggressive to him.
So he used a Shield Charm.
Of course, Snape wasn’t happy.
“Do you remember me telling you we are practising non-verbal spells, Potter?”
“Yes,” said Harry stiffly.
“Yes, sir.”
“There’s no need to call me ‘sir’, Professor.”
You’d fought hard, trying not to laugh out loud during that moment. Thankfully, Snape didn’t catch your strange-looking expression.
You crossed out your third note in your journal, mumbling to yourself as you wondered why you would write such a thing. It wasn’t a rude thing—Harry was known for his sarcastic comments. Indeed, Harry took pride in his sarcasm.
So if Harry ever saw the comment you made, he’d take it as a compliment.
Still, you crossed it out.
“What are you writing?” A voice interrupted your movements as you looked up, your eyebrows raising when you saw Harry standing before you. You closed your journal, smiling, when you spotted the little smirk across his lips.
“Nothing. Just some notes from today,” you shrugged, putting your journal aside. Shoving your shyness away, you patted the spot beside you, welcoming Harry to sit down.
And he did.
“Hannah said you’d be here,” Harry said as you faced him. “She said you come here every other day.” You smiled as you glanced at the lake, stretching your legs.
“I like watching the lake from this angle,” you replied, “I don’t see much stuff in the water since every creature hides away, but the scenery is…” You paused, trying to find the right word. “Picturesque.”
“That’s a big word,” Harry joked, his lips grinning as you laughed softly.
“Well, you know me and my words,” you retorted, watching the water ripple before your eyes. You furrowed your eyebrows slightly, facing Harry again as you tilted your head. “Why’d you come down here? Were you looking for me?”
“Yeah… I wanted to talk to you about something.” Your lips parted in bewilderment, hugging your knees as you nodded slowly. As I narrated earlier, you and Harry were friends but not close. Though, Merlin only knew how much you wanted to know Harry better.
“What is it?” you asked softly. Harry hesitated, pressing his lips together as he glanced at the water.
“I noticed your mood in Potions earlier,” he began, confusing you.
“My mood?” you repeated, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah—I mean, you were happy and then… I dunno, you just became sad,” Harry responded, turning to look at you as he examined your features. Harry always knew you were pretty. Beautiful, even, now that he’s looking at you up close. Your persona only made you glow, making you everyone’s sun in their skies. It had him wondering why no one had realised that about you yet.
Were people truly so blind these days?
“Oh!” You didn’t know what to say. Firstly, the fact that Harry noticed your slight mood change was astounding. Hannah was your closest friend at the moment, and although she knew you better than most people, she hadn’t once pointed out your mood whenever it soured.
Hannah wasn’t your best friend. She had her friend group, and you were merely her roommate. You had friends, of course, but not a friend. No one truly cared about your feelings.
But, looking at Harry, it seemed he cared about yours.
“It was nothing,” you replied, giving a reassuring smile. “I just get like that sometimes. For example, I could get assigned extra homework for History of Magic. That makes me annoyed, and it looks like my face visibly shows that,” you rambled, giving a nervous chuckle before glimpsing at the lake again.
“You weren’t annoyed, [Y/N],” Harry corrected, frowning. “You were sad.” You pressed your lips together, looking down at your lap. Your hands landed on your thighs, your Doc Martens knocking against each other as you shrugged.
“It doesn’t matter,” you replied, standing up with your journal. You were about to walk away when Harry stopped you, seizing your hand abruptly and spinning you around. You glanced at his grip on your wrist, raising a questioning eyebrow.
“Sorry,” he quickly apologised, letting go of your hand. Your cheeks flushed considerably, and you prayed it wasn’t noticeable. “Look at me,” he pleaded, his tone gentle, glimpsing through his lenses as you sighed inwardly, looking up.
“Harry, I’m fine. It seriously doesn’t matter—”
“Why do you say things like that?” he interjected, his expression containing frustration as you became perplexed.
“Because it doesn’t matter? I—”
“But it does!” His exclamation had a hint of exasperation as you exhaled through your nose, your gaze softening as you crossed your arms. You weren’t uncomfortable. You were just in a state of conflict.
“I’m just saying,” he began, smiling encouragingly. “You can talk to me. You can always speak to me. About anything.” Annoyed, you sighed, shaking your head.
“I don’t understand—Where is this coming from?” you questioned. Harry stammered on his words, his brows furrowing. “I know what you’re getting at, but you’ve never cared about me like this.” Harry faltered for a moment, looking down at the green blades of grass as his feet shuffled, his face contorting with guilt as he spoke.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice gentle as he met your eyes. You didn’t know what to say, staying rooted to your spot as he continued. Yet, you suddenly opened your mouth.
“You don’t have to apologise for that. It’s not your fault that you’re saving this bloody castle and its people every year,” you quipped, giving him a fond smile as he shook his head.
“Yeah, but you’ve been here for me,” Harry retorted, his lips pressing together as he exhaled through his nose. “When Sirius… passed away,” Harry began, looking at the clouds in the grey skies, “You immediately came to my aid. You helped me, even if you stayed quiet and stood before me while I cried.” You pursued your lips, remembering the state of depression Harry used to be in after his godfather’s death. Being the wonderful person you are, you wrote to him every day during the summer, and he always wrote back as soon as possible.
“That is different,” you said cautiously, catching Harry’s attention. “You went through something unimaginable. Every year, you suffer the most at this school. Sirius’s death, Cedric’s death, that rat’s betrayal of your parents,” you listed all of these with your fingers as he kept an attentive eye. “Of course, you needed someone. I, however, shouldn’t need someone for having an insecurity that is stupid anyhow—”
“It’s not stupid—” Harry tried to interject, but you stopped him.
“No, Harry, it is,” you sighed, glancing at the lake as its soft ripples entered your ears as if it knew that you needed some brief comfort. “Day after day, I compare myself to my friends. They don’t deserve that. They shouldn’t have to deal with my stupendous thoughts. I am a terrible friend!” You frowned, your tone exasperated as your bottom lip quivered. Meeting his gaze, you found a sense of empathy in Harry’s eyes, who had stepped forward, rolling up his sleeves to reveal something.
You widened your eyes. You almost stopped breathing.
“These are scars,” Harry embarked as you looked up, your heart squeezing. You never knew about this. Of course, he shouldn’t have to tell you as it isn’t any of your business. You bit your tongue from speaking as you silently held his hand, waiting for him to continue. “I started doing it when… Well, after Voldemort killed Cedric, I had PTSD.” He couldn’t look at you. You noticed how his fingers shook in your grasp, Harry trying to steady himself as words escaped him again.
“I felt guilty for being the one to survive. Again,” Harry scoffed, his expression stoic as his jaw clenched. “No one believed the truth when I told them, except Ron and Hermione, but also you,” he sighed, finally meeting your eyes as you softened, squeezing his hand. “I stopped when you found me in the library. You sat next to me with an expression of solace. You just—You understood me, [Y/N].” His voice was breathless. Desperate. Thankful. “I never told you, but I stopped because someone finally knew how I felt.”
“Oh, Harry,” you almost sobbed, your eyes pricking with tears as he held your hands, squeezing your palms tightly.
“You are beautiful,” Harry whispered as you gasped quietly, your lips parting once you saw the timid smile on his lips. “I’ve always found you beautiful. You’ve always been the light whenever darkness consumes the room. Your assuring smile could always make someone feel better after a stressful day. And I can tell a smile of yours is sincere when your right dimple appears a few inches away from your lips.” Harry grinned, a little chuckle easing out of his mouth as you looked down, a warm blush crossing the apples of your cheeks.
“You aren’t a terrible friend. I’ve always thought of you as one,” his words caused you to deflate slightly. “But, there are times when I’ve wanted to be more,” Harry admitted, his calloused thumb running across the back of your hand as your breath hitched at his touch, trying not to shiver as your stomach swarmed with butterflies all of a sudden. You comprehended his words, your lips curling up at his confession as he gazed at you through his circular glasses, his pupils dilating.
“I… I, um, don’t know what to say,” you chuckled, your cheeks warming once more as Harry smiled at your loss of words.
“You don’t have to say anything—”
“OI, HARRY!” A sudden voice interrupted the two of you as you snapped your head to the source, seeing Ron with an incredulous expression. Hermione stood beside the ginger, an awkward smile on her face as she waved, you waving back appreciatively.
“Uh, sorry, Harry, but you’re going to be late for Quidditch practise and Ron was getting a bit antsy,” Hermione explained, throwing you an apologetic smile as she gave Ron an irritated look.
“I wasn’t getting antsy—” Ron scoffed.
“Yes, you were, Ronald—”
“You’re antsy 24/7 so I don’t know what you’re waffling about—!”
“I should go before Hermione tries to rip Ron’s head off again,” Harry said softly, acting like his best friends’ plans to murder each other was normal. You smiled, nodding as you stepped away, reluctantly letting go of his hands.
“Of course. I’ll, um, I’ll see you later,” you responded, becoming shy as Harry nodded, giving you another grin before steering Ron away from Hermione in hopes to stop them arguing before they reached the castle.
Facing the lake, you bit your bottom lip with a knowing smile, walking back to your beloved tree as you leaned against it, closing your eyes.
Harry has feelings for me.
Harry drank his pumpkin juice, his nerves strangling his throat as he looked around the Great Hall for a particular someone. His leg bounced against the bench, Hermione noticing as she furrowed her eyebrows, calling Harry’s name.
“You’re not nervous, are you?” The brunette asked with concern. “You rarely ever get nervous when it comes to Quidditch.” He sighed, shaking his head as he surveyed the Hufflepuff table again.
“It’s different this time—”
“It’s different because he’s expecting someone to be there,” Luna Lovegood interrupted, her dreamy voice attracting their attention as she ate her pudding. “But he doesn’t see them in the Hall at this moment in time.”
“He’s looking for [Y/L/N],” Ron grinned, stuffing his mouth with bacon as Hermione sighed at his table manners. “Me and ‘Mione saw the way they looked at each other by the Black Lake. I mean, honestly, I swore I could’ve seen literal hearts palpitating in their eyes,” the ginger continued to tease as Hermione tutted at him once again.
“[Y/N]’s been to your games before,” Hermione said softly as Harry pressed his lips together.
“But this time I know she’ll be watching, Hermione. What if I fumble the Snitch—?”
“If anyone’s going to fumble the Snitch, it’s that ruddy Harper,” Ginny remarked, making a disgusted face as she glanced at the Slytherin substitute Seeker from across the room. “He’s alright, but there’s a reason he was named a substitute. Trust me, the only thing you should look out for is his foul play,” Ginny shrugged, finishing her food before standing up, Ron following suit.
“Yeah… Yeah, you guys are right,” Harry mumbled to himself, still uneasy as he reached for his goblet again, only to stop his movements when someone tapped his shoulder. He turned his head, seeing you there in a long-sleeved yellow sundress, lighting up the rainy, dull atmosphere, which also accentuated your figure perfectly.
She looks bloody gorgeous, Harry thought, his pale skin turning scarlet as he admired your beauty, noticing how you glowed today. You smiled shyly as Harry’s eyes lit up almost immediately.
“May I sit?” You asked, Harry nodding as Ginny moved out of your way, giving you a knowing smile before glaring at Ron to walk with her. Hermione quickly excused herself, as well as Luna, leaving you both to talk amongst yourselves.
“Hey,” Harry smiled, his nerves settling considerably as he smiled at you. You reciprocated, fiddling with the sleeves of your dress.
“Hi,” you replied, your voice sweet as always as you placed a small bottle before him. You noticed his expression, and quickly explained yourself. “It’s a little tonic I made. Hermione came to me earlier and voiced her concerns about you playing today. I didn’t believe her at first, I mean, I’ve never known you to be the anxious type,” you added playfully, earning another grin from him as your heart practically melted in your chest.
Hermione, forever the matchmaker, Harry thought to himself.
“You make me extremely anxious, love,” he murmured, his eyes meeting yours as you tried not to blush to deeply at the nickname. Harry removed the cork from the tonic, putting it to his nose as he inhaled its contents’ scents. He smiled once more, giving you a knowing look.
“I added golden syrup,” you smiled, knowing the tonic would taste horrible without it. “You know, from the treacle tarts you really like? It’ll still work all the same,” you shrugged, trying to seem casual.
“You bloody miracle worker,” Harry sighed, drinking from the small bottle almost instantly as you laughed at his behaviour. He put the bottle down, standing up and rolling his shoulders, giving himself a nod.
“Okay, I’m ready,” he affirmed. You were about to wish him luck before he leaned down, kissing the corner of your lips as you raised your eyebrows, a little shocked. As he walked hastily backwards to the entrance of the Great Hall, he waved you off, yelling, “I’LL GIVE YOU A PROPER ONE LATER!”
You widened your eyes, smiling as you waved back, laughing to yourself as you ignored the stares being thrown in your direction.
He’s going to kiss me.
Gryffindor had won the match against Slytherin.
It was certainly a tough one with Ginny and Blaise Zabini constantly shoving each other (though, Ginny had a mutual respect for him because he was actually good), and Zacharias Smith, a Hufflepuff in your year, known for his extremely obnoxious behavioour, being an awful commentator, which evidently infuriated Harry beyond despair. This caused the Slytherin Seeker, Harper, to see the Snitch before Harry. However when it seemed that he was about to catch it, he was put off by Harry's desperate taunt, implying that Draco Malfoy, former Seeker for Slytherin, had paid Harper to play instead. Harper, in his distraction, fumbled the Snitch (as Ginny said prior), costing his team the game.
You waded through the roaring crowd of Gryffindor, stepping off the Quidditch stands as you looked around for Harry, desperately wanting to congratulate him. The rain had began pouring as you stood by the sides, finally seeing Harry approaching you with a blanket around him since he had flown high into the sky (Madame Hooch insisted he wore it even though he was boiling to the core).
“Harry!” you waved as he ran towards you, scooping you up into his arms as you squealed, demanding him to put you down. He laughed, wrapping his blanket around you as the rain began soaking your hair.
“I won,” he commenced, throwing you a cocky grin as you playfully rolled your eyes.
“I know, you cheeky git. That’s why I wanted to congratulate you—”
Harry kissed you.
His soft lips captured yours in a searing kiss as your closed your eyes, kissing back almost immediately as his right hand held the back of your head, pushing you closer towards him. You heard the instantaneous cheers from the Gryffindor team as others joined the pitch, grinning at their captain.
“GO ON, HARRY!” Ron boomed as Harry pulled away from you, receiving a clap on the shoulder as you became flustered, parting your lips in surprise. Harry waited for your reaction, a smug smirk across his mouth as you stammered embarrassingly.
“Wow. That was… Wow.” You cleared your throat, looking down as your cheeks turned a crimson red. Harry tilted your chin up, smiling at your behaviour before kissing your forehead, his hand falling to your waist.
“Come on, sweetheart. It’s mandatory for the Gryffindor Captain and his girlfriend to be at the afterparty.”
