Secrets That Shouldn't Be Found - Hōkū, 1997

Wilford IV, the Toppat Clan leader, took a drag of his cigar, puffing out smoke with a sigh.

Hōkū did his best to not shift his weight, or fidget. As unpleasant as holding his nerves in felt, nothing would compare to the disappointment he'd feel letting his mentor or clan's leader see it.

They'd been stood out here in the freezing November air nearly 5 minutes. They'd been back from their mission and disastrous discovery less than 15 minutes, all the while nether elite had said a word to him beyond;

"Balcony, 10 minutes. And Morrningstar?" Wilford's eyes darkened, "I don't care if you've got some 'rare 1 in a whatever ability' the Clan needs. Breathe a word of the mission to anyone, and it'll be your last breath. Clear?"

Wilford glanced to his Right Hand, Harry Copperbottom.

"In an ideal world, had we known what they were carrying, we wouldn't have brought you along," Wilford explained, "But this isn't an ideal world. You're not an elite, nor do you have the clearance for the shit we just found, so consider this your chance to prove yourself trustworthy."

"We have a rough idea of the cover story we'll be using, so once we have it solidified in the morning, we expect you to stick to it." Harry added, his eyes... distant. He looked past Hōkū to the horizon, where the sun had since just set.

"Questions?"

Hōkū snapped his attention back to his leader.

He had plenty of questions, but right now, only one mattered.

"What are you going to do about their project?" He asked. "Taking their 'weapon' isn't going to stop them. All this will do is delay their progress, that's providing their aren't more of them!"

"They're the Chaos Containment Centre, Morningstar. There isn't anything we can do about 'em." Wilford said.

Hōkū screwed his face up. He can't be serious! He's the leader of the Toppat Clan! He can do ANYTHING!

Wilford picked up on his frustration, but in return only let his weariness show. "I know what you're thinking, but this is the reality of being an elite: We don't have the power to fix every problem we find. We just do what we can to limit its impact on our Clan. Our job is to ensure its survival and keep people happy.

We ain't vigilantes, Morningstar: we're criminals. Remeber that."

"Speaking of survival..." Harry announced, "From here on forth you'll be doubling your training session, both with & without your abilities. We won't know for a while if their CCTV was transmitting a live feed beyond the container ship, but if that turns out to be the case, all 3 of us will have a rather large target on our backs."

Wilford nodded, "No doubt they'll want them back, if they realised it didn't go down with the ship."

Hōkū nodded, "Okay, but what about-"

"I'll be taking care of it personally, do not worry." Harry reassured. "Now, go get some rest. I'll meet you in my office in the morning to discus the details of our story further."

World History Part 4: Rise of the Toppats

With the aftermath of the war against the Imposters keeping most of the Government off-world, filing reports, tending to wounded soldiers, or otherwise keeping them busy, the Toppat Clan grew rather powerful. It was easy to, there wasn’t exactly anything keeping them in check after all. They stole jewels, planted members into high ranking positions across the globe, and even blatantly broke some of their members out of The Wall, THE top ranking prison on earth.

Even years after the war ended, the Toppats were still…quite the problem. 

The government tried to dedicate what officers they could spare to deal with them, but the Toppats' sheer numbers were overwhelming. 

And so, it turned to the Center for Chaos Containment to deal with the Toppats. They’d never been good at fighting (though they certainly had some powerful weapons in their arsenal, those weapons were only to be used against world-ending chaotic instances) and instead, their powers of observation and infiltration was used to get into the Toppat ranks. 

Unfortunately for the CCC, the Toppats had infiltrated the CCC several years ago, and were well aware of the attempts made to subdue them. In fact, reading mission reports of that very instance were some of the files used to introduce new recruits to the life of the Toppats. Each attempt to infiltrate the Toppats was easily overturned, and finally, the CCC had to withdraw. 

Thankfully, all attempts to establish Toppat outposts in space failed, and the Toppats remain earthbound. For now…

Found an old idea that I had left unfinished, until now at least lol.

I love the idea of Henry's powers being found out post CTM and how people would react to it. Ellie, Charles, and Galeforce accepting Henry for who he is, and realizing all the deaths he's gone through. That despite all the timelines he chose this one. The CCC (and by extension the Wall) still fearing Henry and wanting to keep him under control. After all in several timelines he lifted up the Toppat Clan and even killed Dmitri in two timelines (PP and TR)

And then there's Reginald who is my favorite reaction :D

HOWARD CHARLES!!!!!! HE IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Howard Charles (Charlie):

I gave a brief amount of info on him on my last post so its time to elaborate!! He works at the CCC, he's not exactly on the forefront of dealing with chaos, he is more or less just a repair man. Although he is just a repairman, he is experienced with electrical work. (this would come back to help Luccille later) He just chills out in their facilities, repairing stuff and making sure all equipment runs smoothly.

Charlie is actually quite interested in investigating anomalies, mostly cause he is an anomaly himself. His chaos levels are too low for the CCC to exterminate him. The CCC hired him in order to monitor him incase something happens with his chaos levels. His "anomalous property" is literally just having a brick head... Absolutely no one knows how or why he has it, not even himself. His abnormality is so pointless that he just functions like your average stickman, infact it leans more towards being an inconvienence cause he needs to get head accessories specifically tailored to fit his block head... He wants to figure out why he has a block head.

^^^such a miniscule detail but his hair is fluffy and when he puts his hat on it makes his hair sad and flat (this is visible in the last post i made of him and Luccille)

In terms of personality, he's a chaotic fella and he likes to do dubious things. He's not exactly stupid, he just likes pulling stupid stunts. He is kinda selfish and doesn't really care for other's lives that much. He doesn't mind killing people, which is kinda reflective on how the CCC would do anything to terminate chaos. If its for the better, he'd hurt someone without thinking much about it. (Meeting Luccille makes him start to question this way of thinking)

Oh and some miscellaneous stuff, his primary weapon choice is a pipe wrench. He also uses other tools like crowbars and regular wrenchs, its just that he prefers the pipe wrench out of all of his choices. When he's not busy trying to figure out what he is, Charlie is particulary interested in the Toppat Clan. The toppat clan is a chaotic nightmare for the CCC!!!! (genuine question, how does the CCC respond to anomalous things in the toppat clan..) Anyways, Charlie is quite fascinated by the process of fusion, it seems that fusion is an advantage used by the toppats in battle.

[Lost Children of the CCC (Part 2) - Mini comic]

It's not perfect, but for an illustration that managed to become a comic without planning, it's not too shabby.

I tried not to give too much away here, since a lot of this will be explored in depth during part 2 (along with other characters too), but I maaaaay have had a slight craving after seeing everyone else posting their own cool Mr Macbeth art :P

OOC : Art block strikes again, but I am currently taking suggestions on what to do, I mean like art wise because I'm currently planning a Splatoon like au, because as an e-liter main, its fun.

Each factions have their own team, similar to how inklings and octarians have their great turf war.

W/ that being said I imagine this :

Government : Inklings (basically the SS - SquidBeak Splatoon)

Toppats : Octarians (the hierarchy is pretty similar at least afaik)

Triple Threat, and anyone else a part of this AU: What kind of chocolate/sweets do you like, if any? Also, would you be willing to share this treat with a special someone (wink wink)?

I figured I couldn’t draw all of this with the limited amount of images I could post on here, so I may as well just tell you this way.

Henry obviously has a sweet tooth, he’ll eat anything he gets his hands on. He does share it with Charles though.

Charles does like white and milk chocolates. He’d break a piece for Henry and others that he cares for.

Ellie I think would eat it whenever she gets the chance, but she probably prefers chocolate truffles.

Rupert, as well as others in the government, I feel are on the same page as Ellie, but with Rupert, if it’s a date night with Dave, he’d just get sweets for them to share. He doesn’t really have a specific favorite.

Dave likes sweets, mostly white chocolate. He’ll share a piece with Rupert.

Sven likes sweets, but he prefers sweets from his home country like princess cake. I don’t think he’d really share it with Burt since he isn’t really familiar with it, but definitely he’s share it to other Toppats.

Burt will only eat a few sweets, mainly just some chocolate truffles, caramel chocolate, and during the holidays, he’s always be up for hot chocolate bombs.

Reginald and RHM I feel…don’t really care about chocolate and sweets or just grew out of it. If they threw a party, with the very rare chance after Randy Radman nearly set them into bankruptcy as leader, they’d just serve stuff like pudding or other food.

Other Toppats; Carol, Earrings, Witch, Toby, Tin, Stickman, Icepick, Snowcap, all still have a soft spot for sweets in the clan, especially with their partners.

Wall Staff and CCC members aren’t allowed food during work, so their only chances of them getting any is when they’re off of work, which is even rarer.

Watched one too much news on TV and is probably plotting something daring against the remnants of what was once the Toppat Clan.

At the same time he only wishes to live a normal life and probably reverse his past mistakes temporally.

Day 22 of Toppat weeks: Heist!

Another fun idea mulling around in my head. This takes place a while after Triple Threat with the bonus of the former leaders being brought back to life due to shenanigans (possibly CCC insanity or Dmitri being a prick). As celebration of their second chance at life and to help a crippled Toppat Clan, a heist competition is held. Their mission: steal as much valuable shit in the allotted time. The Toppat Clan keeps tally on what's been stolen.

Okay hold up- other endings that you had to scrap? And one of them had Ellie x Rupert?!?!? (I really like that ship as a platonic pare…)

May I ask, how would a TT or any timeline where Ellie goes against the clan work with this au? Since Ellie is/was a toppat and all…

Yup Yup! Lemme see…the two endings I definitely plan on doing are Toppat Civil Warfare (Crown of Thorns) and Toppat King (Queen of Roses)

Originally, though, I planned on doing a lot of endings- and even having some overarching story where either Ellie was allowed by Henry to borrow his multiverse powers…somehow, or where the CCC gets bugged by all of these multiverses and makes sure Reginald never betrays Ellie to limit the amount. Not super well thought out 😭

And yeah! Ellie x Rupert…I don’t know what drove me to do that. I think I just thought Rupert being the bossy jock that he always is would be super funny paired with Ellie’s…bossy kick-aaa kind of attitude, haha!

TT and timelines of the sort would mostly follow her resentment towards Reginald driving her to take down the Toppat Clan…especially after seeing how loyal Henry and Charles are. I remember planning a lot of emotional conflict but I can’t find anywhere where I wrote my plans :(

Update: Wait, I did find some notes! Here are the endings I still consider potential fodder if I ever did want to make more endings :))

(TK and TCW ARE canon, so I won’t go over them here)

Queen of Roses - Was going to be the final ending, which would’ve involved Reginald never betraying Ellie.

Bloodred Roses - This ending is one I still consider canon, and follows Ellie as she tries to hunt down the Toppats….only to find the remains of the Revenged Ending. She would meet the ghosts of her former friends, learn how they died in this ending and what life was like once she was gone…and she would try to give them peace.

Blooming Gardens - The Triple Threat ending, which would give Ellie a sibling relationship with Charles and Henry and a father-daughter relationship with the general (who ironically would’ve been her grandpa-in-law if she and Reg got together…this makes me laugh.) Rupert was going to be especially judgmental of her past as a Toppat, but I planned on them slowly becoming friends and possibly hinting at a relationship, although come to think of it they’re way better as best friends

Yeah, a lot of chaotic stuff. Currently, I just plan for Crown of Roses to be the current comic, two endings, and maybe a comic about Suave’s generation…since I like them a lot :)….though I’d love to do a mini-comic about Bloodred Roses….
