Renji paled seeing the overly cheerful man approach him. Nothing good ever came out of interacting with this shady shopkeeper. Always getting tricked into doing stupid things, just because of this one man. He wanted to cry.

BUT!  He would not be so foolish as to allow it to happen every time. It might have taken a thousand times, but Renji definitely had learned his lesson.

"Thanks fer the offer, but I'm gonna have t' politely decline," he held up a hand. He didn't voice it out loud, but this 'errand' of Urahara's was probably not going to end well.

Although... the offer was super tempting... no no no, he mustn't give into the temptation!

Kisuke seemed to know almost everything with his timing, like he was tracking everyone’s thoughts and movements. Who knows how he even know Renji was curious to find out if Ichigo had any porn on his laptop or phone?  This shady shopkeeper was honestly the devil in disguise, ready to offer a deal with his temptation.

“Oh? Are you sure? It’s quite a fast and simple task, really. I just want you to run to the store to get me some pumpkins! It will be Halloween soon after all!” He replied cheerfully, then lowered his hat some. “But if you do insist, then I suppose that makes you a good friend,”

It was hard to tell if this was a test of Renji’s willpower, or just another opportunity to get Renji to do his dirty work for him again. In either case as he walked off, Kisuke was low-key proud of Renji’s progress since he first arrived to live at his shop.
