“Jeez, I feel like we’ve been here before,” Ichigo commented as he watched Rukia limp around, sensing an odd sense of deja vu. It wasn't the first time Rukia was stubborn over an injury she sustained while they were patrolling Karukara Town together, even after the war with the Quincies, some things never change.

To prevent her from completely collapsing, Ichigo picked Rukia up bridal-style and flash-stepped his way to the clinic he had started, which was intended for similar situations like this one. That was what he decided to do after high school, knowing there would always be hollows around.

“At this rate, we might as well make a room just for you,” he said as he placed Rukia on a bed, soon grabbing a pan so he could start washing the bleeding gash across her leg with a dampened cloth.

"Now let me take care of you, Kuchiki-hime," Ichigo added, half-joking at Rukia being like a spoiled princess, and him being one of her servants patching her up.

"No shit, I remember," Renji grumbled, taping down the stubborn wrapping paper that kept curling in on him. Rukia looooved the human holidays, including this so called Christmas. And somehow, he'd been pulled into celebrating it.

EXCEPT! Christmas was at the end of the month - they'd barely just started! "Why are we wrappin' presents when there's still..." He pretended to think for a second, then yelled out "3 more weeks!?"

“Because, unlike previous years, I don’t have time to do it during the week leading up to Christmas,” Ichigo told Renji with a sigh. It was ridiculous, also Rukai’s excitement over the holiday, which somehow got worse with each passing year. Which meant she might be devastated if they messed up, by not planning properly.

“So we’re doing it early and keeping them in my closet, you just need to make sure Rukia doesn’t go in there, or at least let me know when she’s visiting so I can do that,” he added. While Rukia dragged him into celebrating Christmas, Ichigo dragged Renji into preparing for it, as their mutual friend.

“Anyway, what are you doing Renji? Are you wrapping your arm up as a present?” He couldn’t help but comment on the curling wrapping paper, then again he had to commend the guy for trying. Ichigo wrapped his side of the presents like it was nothing, being used to it every year at least for family.

"Ireland? That would explain the accent, but don't worry, I can understand your Japanese just fine," Ichigo reassured Nasuca, then gave her a slight nod. "Yeah, feel free to ask me anything if you're lost or something."

He made the offer, because knowing Uryu, even if he was the class president, he might just scare her off with his personality.

So class went on as normally as it could be, until suddenly his substitute Shinigami badge lit up, it was his cue to go dispatch a hollow, and another excuse to train using his hollow mask.

“Sorry, gotta go to the bathroom!” Ichigo excused himself before rushing out. The hollow in question was yelling about beef and pork for some reason, maybe it used to be a butcher.

"Let's see how long I can last with this on!" He summoned his hollow mask to train its time limit, though he could easily defeat it without it, Ichigo was stalling the battle so he could work on his stamina while under hollowfication.

Perhaps it was in her best interest to make nice, judging by the pressure he was putting off, Nasuca could tell he, like her, was no ordinary human.

"Oh me? I'm from Ireland, I'm sorry if my Japanese isn't the best." Truth be told she'd only just started to learn the language during her training at the Seireitei a few months earlier when she'd first found out about the transfer. "You must be...Ichigo was it? It's nice to meet you too."

This was bad, Orihime had passed out from healing him, but not completely enough to close the wound in his chest, the wound he got from Ishida shooting him, which started bleeding again.

“Don’t push yourself, Rukia...” he told her weakly. The last thing he needed was for Rukia to pass out too for overexerting herself, his body should be able to heal by itself given enough time, but it would help if it could be stabilised first.

“I don’t plan on dying here, I still have to beat the crap out of Ishida, now more than ever...” he added. If there was anything that would save him from near death, it would be his stubbornness.

Now more than ever, right?" he spoke about being addressed in such a manner, this spirit before him was much more than the spirit manifestation of his soul weapon.

"Alright, I'll call you Tensa then, after my bankai," Ichigo decided with a smile, he couldn't find anything more fitting at this point.

❝Good, I'd rather not be drenched in your despair again….❞ Not that the young spirit could truly blame Ichigo, no, never him. He was currently dry, yet his clothes moved the same as ever, billowing in some breeze or another. Ichigo…no, Meister, he was different, now. A good kind of different.

❝A name…?     I'm fine with whatever you come up with, Meister.❞ He was no longer masquerading as the taller male's zanpakuto, the perceived need was long passed, and Yhwach was no longer an issue…oh, how the tables had turned. Now he was the one who had no name.

Oh, wait sorry. I meant "terrorize" the older friends with slang and sayings that they're unfamiliar with. Like saying "rizz" in front of Renji, giving him the wrong definition and seeing what happens next.

Another transfer student, Ichigo had just gotten used to Shinji hanging around, and Rukia before that. He was a little suspicious, but she seemed friendly enough, though she did seem a little out of place, especially with her Japanese.

“Nice to meet you, Nasuca, So, where did you transfer from?” Ichigo asked her, casually curious. Even with him subconsciously radiating spiritual pressure due to his natural presence, he seemed a little distracted. Honestly, he was in the middle of training the control of his hollow mask, so staying at school to keep appearances seemed, trivial in comparison.

"My name is Nasuca Burnheart. It is a pleasure to meet you." The young girl introduced herself to the class. She was a bit nervous as Japanese was not her native language so she was praying that she wasn't messing up too badly. After bowing respectfully to introduce herself the teacher had pointed out an empty desk by one of the other students.

"Thank you Nasuca, why don't you have a seat next to Ichigo, the open desk beside him." Standing upright Nasuca looked to where their teacher had pointed and nodded stepping off the platform. Sitting beside him felt different than any other student there. Glancing over she could tell he was radiating spiritual pressure. But it seemed like he was also trying to suppress it.

"What?! you're gonna be an uncle then?!" Ichigo realised in disbelief, yeah he just couldn't picture it, still he had to be polite. "Congratulations!"

He wondered what the kid would look like, guess it wasn't another thing to look forward to.

"Yeah, you can say something like that," Ichigo admitted, it wasn't like he intended to follow in his father's footsteps, it just felt most natural to him as a career choice, especially with what he was surrounded with.

"I guess it's been a year? Things have been going really fast once it started," he answered, looking thoughtful. "I guess it's slower in Soul Society, it's honestly still hard to wrap around how old some of you guys are."

In some way he still saw her as a younger sibling, but that wasn't it. "Yeh uh… Girl ya just met's gonna have a baby 'fore the next Easter." He explained why he was saying kid.

"Both'a us have big ol' smiles an' blond hair." Their eyes were similar too, though compared to him, she was softer… and shorter. By a foot.

"Tryna be like yer ol' man then?" There was a chuckle in his throat, "I'll remember 'at if I get banged 'roun' by a hollow. How long've ya been in school fer?" Last he remembered, Ichigo… just graduated from high school, and that felt recent.

"I haven't met her properly I think, I guess just in passing when I walk past Keigo's house, she's usually yelling for one reason or another," Ichigo replied with a shrug.

"Ikkaku's staying at their place apparently whenever he visits Karukara Town, better than mine, it's already crowded with Rukia here."
