Future Bulma was like a mother to Future Gohan, and Gohan felt great remorse for getting Trunks killed by taking him to fight the Androids. Future Bulma taught Gohan everything she knew so he could repair and build his own time machine in case anything happened to her, but made Gohan promise to not bring her back to life when she dies.

In his Buu Saga AU, Dabura kills Future Bulma to taunt Gohan into fighting him, this makes Gohan transform into a Super Saiyan 2 for the first time. Super Saiyan 2 Gohan’s fight with Dabura gives Buu enough energy to be revived (in his pure form), leading to the Supreme Kai to take Gohan to the Z sword, Gohan breaks it as he takes it out.

Future Gohan has his potential unleashed by the Elder Kai and manages to arrive back on Earth just before Buu tries to destroy the planet, Gohan destroys Buu completely, saving the Earth and the universe.

+ Shin also makes Gohan aware of the Super Dragon Balls and the existence of other universes like U6 in their quest to find them.

Gohan x (Saiyan) Tifa AU - Headcanons [Part 1]

Cell was absorbing people in Tifa’s hometown (including her father)

Gohan and Krillin attack Cell and save Tifa, taking her to Bulma at Capsule Corp

Tifa reveals that her mother is a Saiyan, explaining her super strength, and ki spikes with her emotions similar to Gohan

Gohan and Tifa bond, Goku takes Gohan to train with him in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber

Cell Games

Goku does not go to New Namek and bring back Dende as the new Guardian of the Earth to restore the dragon balls

Cell games is as canon, but Tifa also watches (next to Krillin), and fights her own  Cell Junior later too

When Cell returns from his self destruction, he shoots a double death beam, one at Future Trunks, and one at Tifa.

Gohan protects Tifa in time, but his arm is injured in the process

After defeating Metal Cooler, they use the Namekian dragonballs to revive those killed by Cell, including Tifa’s father and town, and Future Trunks

they also take Dende back with them to become Earth’s new guardian

like in canon, Goku chooses to remain in Otherworld

+ Bojack Movie: Tifa saves Gohan from Bojack’s bear hug (instead of Ghost Goku), which triggers his Super Saiyan 2 again

+ Buu Saga - Gohan keeps a good balance of studying/training during the timeskip because he continues sparring/training with Tifa while attending the same highschool

"Oh yeah, I could use the help. I'm having a hard time with this mission recently. I keep getting destroyed anytime that I try it." She explained to him as she was looking over some health capsules.

Gohan had become one of the first Time Patrollers and mentors after Future (Xeno) Trunks, having lived his life protecting the Earth, Universe 7 and then the stability of time itself after being recruited by the Supreme Kai of Time. Because of that he had a lot of seniority and experience, with the (time) technology that came with it too.

“I see, I’d like to know the details of the mission to best help you, who do you have to fight to complete it?” he asked Zizzi as put up a hologram to go through the mission archives, noticing her looking at health capsules. “Hm, you’re a Majin, correct? They must be really tough if your natural regeneration is giving you an advantage in battle.”

“What do you want, woman?” Vegeta asked her as he walked past, a towel around his neck after finishing another intense gravity training session. Yes, Kakarot was dead and will be staying dead too. Maybe he was training so hard and alone lately because he was still trying to come to terms with that, his rival, the goal of one day surpassing him, it was meaningless now he was dead.

“How’s the boy?” he added casually as he looked at Trunks. Maybe that would be his next goal, to train his son to become the best like himself. Naturally, that will come after his own goal to attain the transformation that Gohan showed during the Cell Games, if anger was the trigger, then Vegeta had a lot of that to use.

Verse: Stayed in the Past

branching from (my) Future Gohan's default verse + coz I don't want it to affect Future Trunks' canon haha

Future Gohan arrives in the past after Cell, he is from Cell's timeline where Trunks is killed so Cell can steal the time machine, Bulma quickly makes another time machine from a backup prototype for Gohan to travel in.

Future Gohan trains with Piccolo in the HBTC to prepare for the Cell Games, and masters the Super Saiyan transformation like Goku/Gohan after learning it from them.

With Cell destroyed, Future Gohan returns to his timeline

Future Gohan travels to the past once again years later, unable to completely destroy Majin Buu due to his regeneration. This is even with using the Z Sword and then having his potential unlocked by the Elder Kai of his timeline. So Gohan seeks out Piccolo to learn the Evil Containment Wave to seal then trap Buu in the HBTC.

After Future Bulma is killed by a movie villain (say Super Android 13), he decides to travel to the past and move there permanently. This will be during the time skip between the end of Buu Sag and the start of DBSuper.

Alternate Hope [Future Gohan & Future Trunks]

cc-fgohan “You’re Trunks alright, but not the Trunks that I know. Still, I’m glad to see you all grown up and strong as you are. Would you mind telling me about your first fight against the Androids alongside my other self?”

"You have no idea how good it is to see you Gohan, even if you aren't the one I knew. Seeing you alive like this... it's really nice." Even if it wasn't his version of his mentor, Trunks was always content to interact with alternates, it helped fill the void somewhat that was left by the knowledge his own mentor was not only dead, but completely gone. But now wasn't the time for reflecting on his more recent failures, now was reflecting for a time when things were a little less complicated... alas, it also happened to be a time where he had felt he failed his master.

"It... wasn't great. I was barely more than a burden at the time, only good for distracting one of the androids before you had to save me from them anyway. I apologized for embarrassing myself by not contributing anything meaningful, but you rejected every apology I gave."

“I can say the same about you, Trunks,” Future Gohan replied with a growing smile. In contrast Gohan felt similarly with what happened in his own timeline, though that was what this talk would lead to.

He frowned at hearing Trunks’ answer, it was unfortunate, but he was sure there were better and worse timelines besdies their own. “I see, so that’s what diverged with our timelines, I’m glad you survived.”

He let out a light sigh, years later and he still could not get over what happened, Gohan hoped he could find a little closer to being honest with his sins. “Unfortunately that very battle with the Androids, the Trunks from my timeline, I wasn’t able to protect him and he perished,” he confused, clenching his fists tightly. “Telling Bulma was one of the hardest things I had to do.”

If anything, that drove Gohan to make sure he was thorough with Bulma’s plan to send him into the past to save their future. Gohan supposed confessing to this Trunks, and other versions of him was his way of atoning. He wasn’t even sure he would forgive himself properly if he was meeting up with alternate Trunks’ like this, his guilt will always be there.

“Now onto a more lighter topic, Trunks, how strong are you now?” he inquired curiously. Future Gohan always knew Trunks’ had a lot of potential, he was eager to hear how strong his Trunks could have been if he had survived like this one.

"We've travelled to the past with a time machine, so I believe anything is possible at this point," Future Gohan told Future Puck. They had come back from the past, stronger than ever to defeat the Androids, only to find there were more out there after they took care of 17 and 18.

"It must have been a fail safe for when Androids 17 and 18 are destroyed, since the ones we met in the past were just absorbed by Cell," he wondered. Gohan tried to make some logical sense of their situation, he just hoped these new Androids weren't stronger than the ones in the past.

It certainly hurts more than it looks then, it feels like the universe wants me to lose this arm, especially with how much it’s been targeted before too.” Future Gohan replied bitterly as he stood up, unaware than his alternate self actually lose said arm. With a grunt he popped his dislocated shoulder back in place, then looked and addressed the newcomer.

“Thanks for your help, but who are you exactly? Your ki, it is quite something…” The hybrid looked at Krema with a mix of puzzlement and fascination, trying to analyse her energy.

“W-why? You know I can’t!”

Videl knew no matter what she did, no matter how fast she thought she was, it was near impossible to land a punch. Yet he continued to push her onward. Clearly, he believed in her abilities more so than she did herself. That, or he was severely overestimating her.

Really, since she’d met him and began training with him, he had truly humbled her. She questioned her abilities to the point where she only wanted to strive to try harder. Gohan was the only person that had ever made her feel this way. Then again, his powers were otherworldly. How could she keep up with that?

She let her fists drop to her sides, defeated. Panting and heaving, her head hung down, looking at the ground.

“I think we should…stop for the day…” Videl said, trying to catch her breath. Her hand came up to her forehead, wiping away the sweat with her palm. “I’m tapping out…”

“Why? Because you can Videl, otherwise I wouldn’t have agreed to train you. It’s just the matter of time, as long as you don’t give up on the way.” Future Gohan replied, arms folded as he continued to push Videl with his remarks. Maybe he was still not over the guilt of causing Trunks death, but there was no questioning Videl’s hidden potential. She just needed a teacher to guide her on the right path, and in time Videl may become even stronger than him.
