i wasn't too sure about how these had turned out at first, but after seeing them in game they actually grew on me, so here they are. thank you @gvaudoiin-tricou for encouraging me to finish them and share! i hope you like them :-)

since this is essentially a mash-up of several people's work (see credits), frankenstein-ed together, it feels pretty appropriate for the theme.... 🧟‍♂️🔪🦇🩸👽 consider this a tiny late simblreen treat, hehe 🎃

these separate tops are for AF only*, since that's what i needed in my game (but the TF/EF meshes should be easy to copy-paste onto) [edit: *added links to an AM version as well]

they are categorized as everyday, sleepwear and athletic (not sure who would want to sleep or exercise in fishnets but hey i'm not judging. also it's really easy to remove them if you like, since they're a separate texture from the shirt)

compressorized, tooltipped, and the files are labeled clearly. the swatch and previews are included in the rar file.

full disclosure, this mesh has a few issues i don't currently have the skills to fix: it has no fat morph (😑), and there is some clipping in places depending on how the sim moves, and a few dark spots (not super noticeable with the black texture, thankfully). if anyone feels inspired to fix the mesh or add morphs, i'll happily update this post and the linked file.

I was watching Martyn's stream today, and out of curiosity- why can't he look at ddvau yet? I know doody and maruu requested that we don't share it with ccs explicitly but I'm wondering why you say "not yet"?

(For context: someone suggested Martyn read a hero au fic on stream. I wasn't looking at my screen and just heard Martyn say "vigilant", panicked thinking someone suggested he look at Doody and Maruu's Desert Duo Vigilante AU (DDVAU for short) and started shouting "NO HE CANT SEE THAT YET" by mistake.)

Doody and Maruu have told me before that Martyn is one of the ONLY ccs they'd CONSIDER being okay with seeing the comic once his character has been introduced. But until then you CAN'T SHARE IT WITH HIM because those are Doody and Maruu's wishes. I just want it to be respected. So that's why I panicked.

Mammon as a barista/owner, Solomon as a college student, and my mc as a record shop owner. Mammon short circuits on a Wednesday (Solomon never shows up on Wednesdays) because the two people he finds a little too attractive are both a counter's width away (for the first time, at the same time) and he can't handle it. Fate (a late bus and upcoming exams) brought them together on this day.

I have so many ideas and lore and other characters make varying appearances (fashion student asmo, tattoo artist/piercer thirteen, streamer levi, photographer belphie LIKE ASDKDDJ. IT'S FICTION OKAY AND POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN).

I'm so crazy about this AU, i daydream about it at work but have not managed to put words to paper </3 fanfic coming soon™ hopefully. if you ask me about it i will probably end up writing an essay because I have too much to say (will also profusely sob bc i can't fathom people being into my ideas)

And Solomon is a little shit who teases both of them, but is also the only reason this slow burn isn't slower. My poor mc is both oblivious and scared of their feelings </3. Mammon stress bakes and loses sleep over how two regulars wormed their ways into his heart without even trying.

BUT IT'S OKAY BECAUSE THEY'LL END UP HAPPY AND TOGETHER (right? :D)

The fate of A Modest Renaissance

My latest art post was hinting at it but by this point I should just say it outright: A Modest Renaissance will no longer be an MCYT AU. More info under the cut.

Wait, it's ending?

No. If I stopped making content for AMR I think my brain would boil over.

What does this mean?

Characters and the story have changed. Some, like the one I posted today, underwent minor design changes. Other unposted characters got a major rehaul, and with them storyline alterations. In short, this story will now be populated by original characters.

Why?

I talked a little about it before on my twitter, but I got burnt out on MCYT content. I love the community and the people I've met in the fandom but I'd lost interest in most of the CCs and their stories by Doomsday, and by then had only been watching Techno's streams anyway. He was the reason I got back into MCYT with his Skywars videos. When he left, it made sense that I would too.

But I had a whole story plotted out for this blog. Since I hadn't been watching other CCs/drawing heavily on their plots in the first place, as I continued to work on AMR the characters started to resemble their origins less and less. So eventually I was faced with the choice to:

keep AMR a MCYT AU and rarely post art, squirreling away the "real" AMR in drafts, or

convert all of AMR into original content and (psychologically) give myself total creative freedom, but risk losing my audience.

The choice was clear, so I decided I should do what I want.

What about content already posted on this blog? Is it still canon?

A lot of characterization and plot stayed the same through the transition, especially regarding posted content. Think of it like a beta version of the story.

Now what?

I guess introductions are in order for my new(ish) characters. You've already seen Loume by this point, but I'll post new characters as I finish up their designs.

Oof. This one hurts in the best way. It’s everything you want for these characters that they never got to have. It’s fluff, but it feels like angst because it’s a reminder of what the Mulder-Scully family could have been. I love it!

If you’re a fan of Hiraeth (as I am), you’ll love this one! It has a very similar setting and plot. The writing styles are very different, though, so it’s not like they’re carbon copies of each other or anything.

Anyway, this fic is achingly romantic, with plenty of lines that take your breath away.

If you liked Waldron Island, you’ll love this one! It’s a similar concept, but lies more in the casefic genre rather than straight-up horror. I loooove the way it uses the plot (a succubus demon) to force M&S closer together and finally talk about their feelings. It’s one of those fics where you can see where it’s going, which adds anticipation and makes the ending so much sweeter!

This alternate version of the car conversation in Tooms is an incredible Scully character study that’s absolutely dripping with UST. For a short fic, it truly packs a punch! One of my favorite parts is this: “On the Dana Scully list of priorities, want figures very, very low. It’s not that she doesn’t possess it in great quantity, it’s just that she fights like hell to rate it less highly than ambition, dignity, control, pragmatism, self-sufficiency, stability.”

in this AU, cassidy is an afton!! i dont have much of the storyline down but the basis is that. well. cassidy is an afton kid and kind of changes up a lot of the timeline. cc and charlie would still die (im so sorry bffs), but elizabeth wouldn't because william never ends up building circus babys. michael, liz and cass grow up over the years and start to get suspicious of their father. cassidy has a near death experience stumbling upon her father committing the MCI which gives her the ability to see the ghosts of the missing kids!!
