The patient is doing better today. She's had an appetite. Last night's dinner was almost all gone this morning. She's very mellow, too. I think kitty CBD is helping. She just had 2 drops on her gums vs the recommended half dropper.
She is better about finding things though I wonder if she found the litter in the nick of time last night because the pee pad surrounding it was wet in an area. She's been better about being in the box and hadn't needed it for about 3 weeks
She's currently purring 😻

So a list of things that have happened since trying CBD
- My anxiety when from 100 to 0 literally overnight
- All food tastes amazing to me now
- I stopped having suicidal thoughts and dissociating constantly
- I was finally able to have an orgasm without the excruciating pain afterwords (fuck endometriosis)
- I rarely get panic attacks, but I haven’t even felt the start of one since taking CBD
- I have like 1000% more energy now and can finally get more than 1 house-related chore done each day after work
- I can focus so much better now
- I can think so much more clearly that I’m finally able to identify a lot of anxiety-related behaviors so I can work on reducing them
- The creams REALLY work to relieve pain, but they don’t completely numb me? It’s weird, but it works
It’s been literally 5 days, I am shook. I can’t wait to see what a month in looks like!

What Is Cannabidiol
It is an active ingredient in cannabis.
youtube
CBD is considered to have many medical applications.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the active cannabinoids (ingredients) in cannabis. CBD is considered to have many medical applications, and works in concert with THC to obtain what is known as the entourage effect. CBD is often extracted from the marijuana plant in the form of liquid oil and has slowly begun use as a treatment for Dravet syndrome in some US states.
Dravet syndrome is a form of epilepsy that begins during the infancy of a child’s life. This disease creates lethal seizures often with several instances per day. While there are reports that CBD is effective in the treatment of those who suffer epileptic events there is a lack of sufficient medical evidence to understand its effectiveness and safety.
Raphael Mechoulam is a cannabinoid researcher in Israel who believes Avidekel to be the first CBD enriched cannabis plant with almost no THC. Some researchers currently believe that CBD may also serve as a way to open receptors CB1 and CB2, allowing them to take in more of the available THC in the plant. A Canadian company has recently developed an aerosol drug for oral administration containing a nearly even mixture of THC and CBD. It was approved in 2005 under the name Sativex and is currently being used to alleviate pain associated with multiple sclerosis.
CBD is a Schedule two drug in Canada allowing for some medical uses, in the United States however it is not so clear cut. While marijuana itself it a Schedule I substance in the United States the Controlled Substances Act does not list CBD under any Schedule of the act. This has not stopped the Drug Enforcement Administration from treating CBD as a Schedule I substance. So while it may appear the drug is not currently regulated it is being treated as such by authority officials.
CBD is a potential treatment for glaucoma.
It is believed that due to CBD not being listed on the controlled substances act that CBD may be legal under federal law assuming it meets specific requirements. There is an exemption that allows products to be manufactured and sold in the United States if they produced from mature stalks and the fibers produced by them. This includes hemp oil and extracts of hemp products which may have high CBD content.
There is a US patent on file #6,630,507 titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” which is assigned to “The United States of America as Represented by The Department of Health and Human Services.” This patent mentions the use of CBD as a use as an anti-epileptic as well as a potential treatment for glaucoma. There is also a claim that using CBD may prevent neurotoxicity in the human brain as well as lower intraocular pressure in acute doses. The drug is also listed to have high antioxidant activity which can be used in oxidation associated diseases.

Diabetes Risk Assessments - Sydney Premier Medical & Health Centre
What are the assessments for diabetes?
Diabetes can be diagnosed and monitored through various assessments. Some common tests include:
Tumblr media
Fasting Plasma Glucose (FPG) Test: This test measures your blood sugar level after an overnight fast. A level of 126 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or higher typically indicates diabetes.
Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): This test measures blood sugar levels before and after drinking a sugary solution. A two-hour blood sugar level of 200 mg/dL or higher indicates diabetes.
Hemoglobin A1c Test (HbA1c): This test measures your average blood sugar level over the past 2-3 months. An HbA1c level of 6.5% or higher generally indicates diabetes.
Random Plasma Glucose Test: This measures blood sugar levels at any given time. A result of 200 mg/dL or higher, along with symptoms of diabetes, may indicate the condition.
Glycated Albumin (GA) Test: This measures the percentage of glycated (sugar-bound) albumin in the blood, providing an average blood sugar level over the past 2-3 weeks.
C-peptide Test: This measures the amount of C-peptide, a substance produced by the pancreas along with insulin. Low levels may indicate Type 1 diabetes, while high levels might suggest Type 2 diabetes.
Urine Tests: These can detect the presence of ketones and glucose in the urine, which might indicate diabetes.
These tests are used to diagnose diabetes, monitor blood sugar control, and assess the effectiveness of diabetes management strategies. If you suspect you might have diabetes or have concerns, it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and diagnosis.

The Role of Endocannabinoids in Regulating Pancreatic Cancer: A New Frontier
World Pancreatic Cancer Day 16th November 2023
Tumblr media
As we commemorate World Pancreatic Cancer Day, it is imperative to shine a light on the latest scientific advancements in understanding this devastating disease. One area that has garnered significant interest is the role of endocannabinoids in regulating pancreatic cancer. While these naturally occurring compounds share some similarities with the active compounds in cannabis, this discussion will focus solely on endocannabinoids produced by our bodies and their potential impact on pancreatic cancer. We will not delve into the medical uses of cannabidiol (CBD).
Endocannabinoids are lipid-based neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, primarily CB1 and CB2, in the body. These receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a crucial role in various physiological processes including mood, memory, pain sensation, and appetite. Interestingly, recent research has shown that the ECS also plays a significant role in cancer biology.
Tumblr media
In the context of pancreatic cancer, studies have revealed that endocannabinoids can influence the growth and proliferation of cancer cells. Here's how:
1. Modulation of Cell Proliferation and Survival
Endocannabinoids have been found to regulate cell survival and death pathways, which can directly influence the growth of cancer cells. In pancreatic cancer, endocannabinoids may induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) and inhibit cell proliferation. This could potentially slow down the progression of the disease.
2. Influence on Tumor Microenvironment
The tumor microenvironment, the non-cancerous cells surrounding a tumour, plays a critical role in cancer progression. Research has indicated that endocannabinoids can influence the tumour microenvironment, affecting angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels that feed the tumour) and immune responses. This could potentially limit the tumour's ability to grow and spread.
3. Impact on Cancer Cell Migration and Invasion
One of the main challenges with pancreatic cancer is its ability to spread rapidly to other parts of the body, a process known as metastasis. Studies have suggested that endocannabinoids can inhibit the migration and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells, potentially reducing the risk of metastasis.
While these findings are promising, it's important to note that research in this area is still in its early stages. The complex nature of the ECS and its interactions with cancer biology means that there's still much we don't know. For instance, while some studies suggest endocannabinoids can inhibit cancer growth, others indicate they might also promote cancer cell proliferation under certain conditions.
In conclusion, the role of endocannabinoids in regulating pancreatic cancer presents a fascinating new frontier in cancer research. Understanding how these compounds interact with cancer cells could potentially lead to novel therapeutic approaches for this devastating disease. However, further research is necessary to fully understand the mechanisms at play and translate these findings into clinical practice. As we mark World Pancreatic Cancer Day, let us celebrate the progress made so far and look forward to the promising possibilities that lie ahead.
