GET TO KNOW ME: ♡ favourite underrated tv show - Trickster
There was a time when we were all family. Witches, Ancient, Tricksters. Cycle and balance...harmony. You're called ancients?
Why do you want my son? Your son? The son of a trickster and a witch. I've never seen that before.
LMFAO I was cleaning out my email inbox and found the letter CBC replied to me when I sent them a letter expressing my extreme disappointment in them cancelling Trickster instead of just finding a new show lead like anyone with a brain would do. And they were like "we have many new Indigenous focused stories to tell in the future."
I didn't watch atla and I intend to never do that (not the cartoon or the live action series) but like I promised, I'm here to make joel oulette's appearance in it all about cbc trickster ✌️😌
just went thru a whole rollercoaster today. i watched cbc trickster for the first time just to see joel oulette before he pops up on the 2023 atla remake, ended up liking the whole show, discovered it was cancelled because of a faux native controversy, and then i found an old post of yours under the joel oulette searches about him following some redpilled account on ig? 😭 many things are happening
i've created lore for the deceased members of NOSPIN and their relationship with Trickster, so i'll be posting it with inspirational posts about my version of nospin and rping them here.
for rp, NOSPIN are survivors taken by the entity when they died.
as a disclaimer, this is a side blog so i follow from grimmshood, but i will do my absolute best to interact primarily through anons or the dms on this blog.

A Florida woman damn near got the Steve Irwin treatment while swimming in Tampa Bay (mildly gnarly pics in this one, consider yourself warned).
We nearly lost Arnold back in 2019 following complications from heart surgery.
Flamingoes, likely thrown off course by Hurricane Idalia, have been showing up all over the damn place.

Getting the yips seems absolutely brutal and I always feel terrible for people when it happens to them.

Finally, I salute the Chicago-area trickster notorious for putting up official-looking-but-fake government signs around the city. That's some fine prankin'.

This show is SO good I don't want to spoil anything but I'm so sad only one more episode left this season! It's renewed for Season 2 tho!
Short answer, anon: YES! Trickster is, without a doubt, my favourite thing to come out of 2020. I am SO glad it’s already been renewed for a second season.
Trickster is currently available on CBC and CBC Gem in Canada, and will be airing on the CW starting in January.
You can read more about the show here!
One last thing I really want to stress again: you can tell that an Indigenous hand is all aspects of the creation of this show. The fact that there are Native people behind the camera as well really does shine through, and I love hearing the actors talk about how that made a positive impact on the experience, too.
tv is incredibly dry right now (to me), so I can only recommend shows from the last couple of years.
if you like coming of age and school settings, try heartbreak high on netflix (season 2 is coming this year). I think it's really well written actually, maybe not best when binged because there's a lot of foreshadowing and attention to detail.
if you like supernatural stories, I can recommend trickster (canadian show, originally on cbc), got cancelled after one season though. will still make pr for it without getting paid, no questions asked. also in the same vein, mortel on netflix. one of my faves of all time. very fucked up but so good. we love good polyamory.
also, grease: rise of the pink ladies is surprisingly good (ignore any trailers and bad faith reviews you might come across. it's on paramount (?) right now but I wouldn't know since I pirate literally everything), so if you like musicals, great choreographies, and feminism, this might be for you too.
that's pretty much every show I can think of at the moment, verdict still pending on some others but... yeah. I'm not really impressed with this year's television so far, going to be honest.
