Marvel's The Order (2007) quotes -> Accepting // hey! be nice to your uncle, he is very tired and somebody did try to stab us !! @shootsxruns -> Hey -- toughen up, buttercup. - to uncle clint!
HE SQUINTS AT HER, TOTALLY OFFEND. LIP PARTING.
There's an internal debate of whether he takes the arrow shaft that he was working on to whack her or reach over to flick her on the forehead. It would absolutely be earned, considering he was recording from a stab to his shoulder. Trying to defend him and Ana from a hunter duo who had manged to get the jump on the two of them.
Some of his arrows got snapped in the ensuing fight, and considering he had a thing about using bows? They were taking the lull in infected to craft more, and let his stab wound heal. At least for day.
TRAVELING ACROSS THE COUNTRY WAS GOING LIKE THIS.
â Oh, I'm sorry, pigeon! Were you the one stabbed and thrown flat on his ass breaking most of my ammunition? â He snips right back as he lifts up an arrow to wave it around. Clint huffs, grumbles to himself of nothing that could be made out as he finishes up another arrow.
â There should be deer up in these parts, and ARROWS are going to be a lot more effective in not scaring them away. So don't toughen up buttercup me. â He doesn't see her being useful at the moment.

HE'D DO SOMETHING SPECIAL IN THE HONOR OF NATASHA AND BUCKY.
The crazy bastards would manage to plan their own assassination pr execution except Clint knew they were not getting out of the death part. They knew that they would not. Clint feels his own tears start to well up as he thinks about that.
It was a damn respectable thing to do and he knows what it meant. They had dangerous jobs before the world got infected and people died by the masses as humanity started to revert back to a survive first world. It may have been unavoidable but their final fuck you to the world was orchestrating how they went out.
The unit they had been, that kind of thing meant a lot. It's why Clint was angry with the both of them when they pulled him back from his own decision. It's why Bobbi's death had stung because it shouldn't have happened, it had been a necessity. Natasha and Bucky's death had been that as well and one day Clint thinks his own will be as well. Kate's had been neither her choice or a necessity.
â I know it's hard to believe, some days I feel like that about Kate and Bobbi; but they are gone and they want you to carry on. â After all the years that had past, part of Clint refused to accept that they were gone and he would wake up from some bizzare coma. That this entire situation was a fucked up nightmare that his brain cooked up.
Clint grabs Ana by the shoulder and guides her to his couch that he had managed to pad up the cushions better. He pulls her to a hug and is silent as he goes through his own emotions. Clint feels like he is probably in shock and the angry sobbing will come later.
He gives them several minutes of him just holding her, waiting for the wave of emotions to go through. Clint gives it time but the clogs in his wheel had to start spinning.
It's going to be feel cruel but he needs to turn on the radio that he has stashed that was patched into the FEDRA's comms so that he could hear the play by play of what was happening. Clint gets it out, starting to set it up so that he patches into the their comm. There's a lot of static and he has to turn his volume up as he tunes in.
â Did they tell you anything? Don't get specific, just give me a nod. A location, a name? â
The chatter is about sending a team to clear out the zone and recover any survivors but he knows what that meant. They were looking for Natasha and Bucky to confirm they didn't survive.
It was nearly impossible to process much of anything while Clint ran her from where they were to, to where his apartment was. All she could think about was wanting to get to her parents. She couldn't lose them. Being without them wasn't something she was ready to accept, leaving her able to do nothing but sob into his chest where he held her.
She could still feel the heat from the flames, even as they ran up the stairs, well...As Clint ran up the stairs. They weren't gone. They couldn't be. Natasha and Bucky were two of the smartest, most clever, and toughest people she knew, and now it was like they were never there.
Whenever Clint said he was sorry, promising to take care of her, it all made her wanna scream. She shouldn't need that. Her parents should be there with them.
Her world was spinning, and she didn't know how to make it all stop. She'd give anything to make this not happen. She remembered her mom and dad telling her a few days ago, if anything happened, that she needed to get the truth to the right people. Everyone needed to know.
As Clint continued to try and sooth her, she looked up at him, waiting to find out this was some sick joke. But those tears glistening in his eyes told her everything she needed to know.
This was real. They were gone.
She shook her head. Desperately trying to find reason in all this, but she couldn't no matter how much she tried, a world without them didn't make any sense. "They can't be...They can't be gone Clint."

StEx Appreciation Month Day 15: Red Caboose!
đâđâđâđâđâđâđâ
Face Claim: Ramon Visser (the prettiest caboose fr)
Favourite Song/Scenes: Broadway Wide Smile!!!! Todd Lester put his whole cabussy into that performance!!! Elaborate handshakes with Electra, terrorizing Rusty (shout-out to Michael Eborall's absolutely deranged screaming and laughing), and there are a lot of really good Caboose laugh audios out there but Kapa Kitchen has some of my favorites
Favourite Costumes: His costume is sooooo so so good! There's little variation over the years but I prefer it when the actors can use their natural hair (some of those hair pieces are crusty af). Joburg caboose also has a really cute costume!
Favourite Ships/Friendships: Red Caboose x Greaseball x Electra. Dinah is his best friend, he can and will fight CB over that title! He is genuinely friends with the freight crew as well!! (even though he totally crashed them into that wall on purpose during Freight)
Headcanons: I call him Red because CB is the original trucker caboose to me :) He originally agreed to help Greaseball because Dinah's title as a champion was also at stake if GB ever lost (and because he has fun causing wrecks). He crashed Greaseball on purpose during the final to get back at him for how poorly he was treating Dinah. Electra was just collateral damage
Unpopular Opinion: I don't subscribe to the Murderboose headcanons (though I have joked about it before). Is he freaky and unsettling? Yes. Sadistic? Absolutely. But a killer? Nah.
đâđâđâđâđâđâđâ
Bonus Round part one: CB!
Face Claim: Michael Staniforth
Favourite Song/Scenes: There's Me, his Freight verse (the way he says "Hello!" lives rent free in my brain), CB, ORARTM (I love the way his voice squeaks on the last "Whaddaya say?!")
Favourite Costumes: There's only been the one, but he needs the moustache imo
Favourite Ships/Friendships: CB x Elton (Workshop Electra). Dinah is his best friend! He's also friends with the freight crew!
Headcanons: His radio beeps always have hidden messages in Morse code. He uses them to communicate with Greaseball and the other Cabeese during races
Unpopular Opinion: The original CB is overall the most well-rounded version of the caboose character!
đâđâđâđâđâđâđâ
Bonus Round part two: Brake Van!
Face Claim: Tom Nihil
Favourite Song/Scenes: Anytime he's acting shifty, rubbing his hands together, etc! I love this little weasel! He's also fun to watch during Pumping Iron
Favourite Costumes: Once again, there's only been one but the two-toned gloves reign supreme!
Favourite Ships/Friendships: Brake Van x Elektra, Brake Van x Carrie. He's the only caboose that's not super close with Dinah. He is friends with Carrie and Brandi. Overall he prefers hanging out with the coaches or Elektra and the components over the freight crew (Krupp and Killerwatt do NOT trust him)
Headcanons: Unlike Red and CB, he has a lot of respect for Slick and her method of crashing trains (and the fact that she has lackeys to do her dirty work). He would definitely consider going into business with her
Unpopular Opinion: He's a fun spin on caboose and having some kind of motivation (even if it's just money) improves the character
đâđâđâđâđâđâđâ

The NCIS-verse aired its 1,000th episode tonight, and for Brian Dietzen, who plays lovable medical examiner Jimmy Palmer, âA Thousand Yardsâ wasnât just the perfect way to honor the CBS showâs longevity. It was also the latest in a long line of episodes created with a team heâs proud to be a part of.Â
âI love these people that I work with, and our crew that's been together with us for 21 years, a lot of them all the way through from the beginning to now,â Dietzen tells Entertainment Weekly. âI think you can see that camaraderie and the comfort and familiarity. It comes through to viewers.â
In a season shortened by the Hollywood labor strikes, Dietzen says the cast and crew turned lemons into lemonade with an inventive 10-episode season that culminates in a pulse-pounding finale.
âAs per usual with NCIS, it's gonna leave a lot of people with their mouths wide open after the credits start to roll,â Dietzen teases. âI think everyone's pretty damn proud of what we put together.âÂ
Below, the actor and writer, who co-authored this seasonâs emotional tribute episode to Dr. Mallard and David McCallum, talks about this major TV milestone, the shape of the season to come, and how the medical examiner in the Harry Potter glasses evolved into a romantic lead over 21 years.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Congratulations on the 1,000th episode! How does it feel to be a part of that legacy?
BRIAN DIETZEN:Â Oh, my gosh, think about 1,000 episodes. That's some pretty rare stuff. It feels very humbling to be a part of something so humongous, you know, and to have any small part in helping in its success. So yeah, it's incredible. It's definitely some âpinch meâ type of stuff.
I imagine! Well, I'd love to talk about the episode itself. Let me start by saying, poor Leon Vance [Rocky Carroll]. That man has suffered.
No kidding. We've got a few people like that on our team who've gone through the wringer, but I think none more so than Leon Vance. And, you know, you couldn't get a better actor than Rocky Carroll to play him. I mean, he just embodied that man and like you said, heâs gone through the wringer over the last 16, 17 years. I just love watching Rocky Carroll. I could listen to him read out of a phone book. So good. It's always an absolute pleasure to have a story where Vance is a central character.
The episode throws it way, way back. How important was it for everyone involved in the show to honor the deepest of those deep roots?
Well, I think youâve got to honor everything. There are a lot of people. Those 1,000 episodes don't happen without over 1,000 people working behind the scenes over the course of these 21 years, not just on our show, but on our sister shows as well. So I was really, really happy when I was reading this script to see some shout-outs to past characters that are no longer on the show and also past storylines that meant a lot to the fans and meant a lot to us as NCIS family members.
The ending, it just got me. Itâs one thing to read it in script form, but then when you get to see it, and see how visually it all comes together with the music swelling and you're showing some of these seminal moments from the history of NCIS and also simple moments like Gibbs helping a kid build a tree house. You know, the stuff that made NCIS what it is for two decades. And you're reminded that this is how we got here. Yeah, it definitely got me.
I would love to talk about the evolution of Jimmy Palmer over 20 seasons. What is it like as an actor to embody a character whoâs growing professionally and personally over two decades?
It's really interesting. Obviously, it's not something that's generally done in most actorsâ careers, you know? With procedural television like this, that character has a new story to tell each week, and he has to remain similar enough that people can recognize him as the character they've grown to love. But he needs to change a bit over time because that's what it means to be human, right? We grow and change. As an actor, what makes it interesting is to find those changes that are gradual and really playing the long game with it so that it doesn't seem like just overnight, oh, gosh, Jimmy's changed so dramatically from season 10 to 11, or from season 20 to 21, that those things make sense and still seem organic. Itâs been a delightful challenge to play. And itâs not just me accepting that challenge. It's our writers who are looking constantly at ways for our characters to evolve and to push us as actors. Itâs definitely a group effort.
When you started on NCIS at the end of season 1, did you anticipate your character being the core romantic pairing on the show at some point in the future?
Yes, we all saw this coming. From season 1, the assistant to Donald Mallard, we were like, âThat guy. That kid right there. The guy with the Harry Potter glasses. That's the guy that's gonna have the lead romantic relationship.â [Dietzen laughs.] No, of course not. That was never a thing. It was kind of a punchline that no, there's no way that guy could be the one to get the girls. But it's been nice to see that evolution for Jimmy for sure, and for him to find happiness has been great.
What Jimmy brings to the show is a huge part of what makes me love NCIS, that kindness and patience and optimism. Do you see that as an important component to a show with as much action as NCIS generally has?
I think it's vital. I really do. You can have an episode of NCIS and it's very action-filled, and you'll have people say, âI wish they had more comedy in this.â You'll have one that's very silly and people will say, âI wish they'd be a little more serious.â But thatâs what makes our show go. Those things complement each other really well. And when we have that light-hearted nature, that optimism, it does set up the audience pretty well for a sucker punch that happens here and there that takes your breath away. Like when Vance falls to the ground and heâs been shot [in âA Thousand Yardsâ]. Thatâs not something you saw coming. I think the show does a really good job of setting up those moments, and the comedy, the light-hearted nature and the optimism, is integral to that type of storytelling.
What is it what is it that made you want to include writing in your arsenal of skills? [Dietzen co-wrote âThe Helpersâ in season 19, âOld Woundsâ in season 20, and Duckyâs season 21 tribute âThe Stories We Leave Behind.â]
I've always loved writing, and I have a huge appreciation for our writers and what they do. This show is not an easy show to write. Anybody who steps up to the plate and says, âHey, I want to try this thing,â I say hats off to you. Including the history of the characters, the interactions, the optimism, the heart and the soul of what the show is, it's hard to get all those things together.Â
So I was really happy when I submitted some writing samples to our showrunner Steve Binder and he said, âHey, if you want to try it, go ahead.â So I teamed up with Scott Williams for âThe Helpersâ and we just went with it. I wanted that optimism, that thing that NCIS does so well, which is people looking after their own. I was really happy with the way that it turned out. And I was happy that I got to write again, two more times in the next three years.
Iâm curious what kind of discussion went into putting you in the writer's room for the Ducky tribute episode.
Obviously, that was the episode that no one wants to write because it means we've lost someone that's so near and dear to us, a member of our family. And Scott, from what I understand, stood up and said âIf we're going to do a Ducky tribute episode, I'd love to be a part of that.â Scott's has always been so good at writing for David, and he said, âI think that it's only right if Brian joins me on this. Weâll write this thing as a team.â I had already said I don't need to be taking scripts away from anybody else when we have such a such a truncated season, but everyone in the room said âNo, that seems right that Brian should be a part of it considering how closely he and David worked over the years and how close they were as friends, too.â So I was beyond honored to throw my hat in the ring for that and to add whatever I could to it.
Have you seen a difference over the show's run in how people react to you when you're just walking down the street?
I have to say, those glasses did a lot of work for a long time. It was one of those things where I never got recognized, but now when I'm traveling to see my family in Colorado and/or Illinois, I definitely get stopped, a bit more so in the Midwest than I do in Los Angeles. But it's great. People don't stop you because they hate your show. People only stop you because they like it. So it's really been nice.
What can you tell us about whatâs in store for the rest of this season?Â
There's plenty in store there. It's only a 10-episode season, right? It just kind of feels like each of our writers kind of only gets one at-bat, and they're really swinging for the fences and they are not disappointing. One that's coming up pretty soon here highlights Gary Cole's character Parker in a way that, to me, is some of the funniest stuff I've seen in a long, long time on the show, just situationally funny. Having read it, I can't wait to see what Gary does with the material.Â
Will you be glad to get back to a more traditional season next year, or are you hoping this will roll over into âlet's keep swinging for the fencesâ with some new approaches?
Our cast and, more importantly, our crew really depends on working day in and day out on our show, and we really, really love it. I'm proud of the season that we put together in spite of two major strikes in Hollywood, and I can definitely speak for our crew and the rest of our cast when I say we're looking forward to a full slate of 22 shows, 22 different stories, and a full season's worth of work for all of us. Maybe we can take some of the lessons that we learned this year and apply them to a full 22, yeah. I'm hoping that we hold each other to high standards and we keep making some good stories because itâs hard to get a better gig than this when you're working with people that you care for, and you really love what they do artistically as well. I'm very, very excited for everyone to join us next year to have 22 fresh episodes â you know, building toward episode number 2,000.

Ranking my favorite 2023 K-pop comebacks
I feel like 2023 was a year where I followed kpop comebacks especially diligently bc of my newfound interest in dance, and since it's 2024 this means an entire year has passed now of This
here's a list of my 10 personal favorite title tracks this year, happy new year all!
The Top Ten
1. Monsta X - "Beautiful Liar"
listen. when I said
in january of last year I meant it with my whole ass and I stand by it an entire earth year later. this song fucks So hard
firstable Yes I'm sad this is their last cb with most of the group in a while but also jesus what a banger to go out on
I love the guitars, the looks everyone is serving, the funky little twist in the song structure after the second verse, plus thinking always about lovemelovemelovemetellmetellmetellme + the chains + kihyun with a literal goddamn whip + the gunshot sound effects punctuating joohoney's verse. chefs kiss
2. Taemin - "Guilty"
god taemin is back and you can just feel the catholicity through the screen. the haunting vocals. the delicious string textures throughout (the way the arpeggios shift to pizzicato for the second verse!). the 6/4 time (the only choreo I learned this year that was not to an 8 count). the fucking through the shirt grab. the bridge which they extended in the MV specifically to squeeze in Even More Yearningâą.
this is a perfect cb and I will say the rest of the album is also flawless and my favorite out of this list. honestly this probably would have been first if not for the fact that I personally just liked beautiful liar so goddamn much. thank you taemin. no notes.
3. SHINee - "HARD"
aka the song I previously described as "2 baddies, but Good" (no really, they have same key signature & near identical song structure. listen to them side by side with HARD on .95 speed if you don't believe me)
anyway, like 2 baddies this is SM-flavored af but I love the old school hip-hop vibes in HARD soooo much. I've had some people tell me they found it weird and off-putting but to me it's effortlessly cool but also earnest and just. fun? (not only the music but also the visuals? hello? the fashions in this MV) def gotta be one of my most played this year
4. Lee Gi Kwang - "Predator"
ok now for a dark horse pick. I feel like in the borderline 5th gen landscape nowadays older groups are often forgotten (even though hello! 2nd gen bgs are back from the military now and are having a Moment) so people perhaps understandably overlooked this one but god this song is a bop.
is it just criminal by taemin part 2 but less sexy and with a lower budget? yes. but the song is an absolute bop and the choreo slaps in its own right so imo it's a very worthy homage especially given it captures its exact gender of "pathetic sadboy making horny mistakes and needing to dance abt it" so so perfectly,
5. Exo - "Cream Soda"
tbh not what I was expecting from an exo comeback and I was surprised that I ended up liking this so much given I didn't really care for the prerelease tracks, but the more I listened the more this grew on me?
ofc it's an exo track so the vocals are 100 emoji but the chorus and melodies are simply addictive and the choreo for this one is also just a ton of fun (the sexy little head swipe,)
also I love the outfits in this MV (everyone keeps saying this is the Weed aesthetic but honestly? with korea's whole Thing? this is exo's macklemore-style thrift shopping and/or raiding grandma's attic for hidden midcentury treasures phase. to me.) but thank u @ the universe specifically for giving us back silver haired baekhyun. bless.
6. VIXX - "Amnesia"
another underrated release tbh! this initially gave me guilty vibes w/ the abundant use of pizzes since they were released around the same time but I also just independently love this song
I feel like it's a very mature song that takes itself seriously but not in an overly self-absorbed or cheesy way (another comparison I might make is to leo's losing game from last year), the chorus is poignant and hits hard because it's so earnestâmaybe especially so since they were down to 3 with this cbâbut man that melody is just so gorgeous, like it haunts me
7. Dreamcatcher - "Bon Voyage"
ok if I'm gonna be real it wasn't a great year for my favesâwhile I liked OOTD and reason they weren't top 10 worthy for me, mx had 1 excellent release before having most of its members yoinked by the military, and I didn't love either of oneus's cbs this year
that being said! I did still like bon voyage! while I preferred the first 2 in the trilogy it still felt like a good and fitting finale, bittersweet and full of equal parts regret and hope
in many ways it feels like a harkening back to classic dreamcatcher with the Big Anime Opening Vibesâą but more somber and grown up, an unexpected summer anthem from these queens,
8. TXT - "Sugar Rush Ride"
it's been a busy year for txt and while I'm not super familiar with them and their releases are sometimes a bit hit or miss for me, when they do hit they HIT
I actually considered chasing that feeling for this list too but despite adoring the take on me-ness of it I ended up nixing it after adjusting for recency bias
sugar rush ride though, I feel is a bop that stood the test of time with its catchiness and surprisingly dark undertones, and is also one of my favorite choreos I learned this year by far like. come on. it's the epitome of Boy Group Hot.
9. Taeyang - "Vibe"
this song lived rent-free in my head for MONTHS, god it's so catchy
I actually missed when my local studio taught this song but I liked the choreo so much I learned it on my own which, predictably since it literally features 2 main dancers, was not easy but extremely worth it bc just like the song itself it's just really fun
other than that what can I say. the MV is nothing special but otherwise it's just a really solid song with Big feel good energy.
10. Kiss of Life - "Shhh"
ok,,,,,,,I don't really follow rookie groups that closely bc generally I don't feel like I'm the target audience but. out of this year's new groups I did especially like kiss of life's debut!
the MV doesn't do much for me tbh but musically it sounds uncharacteristically mature to me, in a good wayâit has a subtle confidence about it that I like plus excellent vocals, and is (possibly hot take?) what I was hoping to get from newjeans this year as a continuation of their debut last year tbh
Honorable Mentions
Jungkook - "Standing Next to You"
this one just felt like cheating bc it's technically an English single and there's probably some recency bias here but I can't not mention it bc I simply love this track. I'm not even a BTS stan but it's just a jam with great vocals and instrumentals (the big band notes and MJ influence! please!) and the choreo is also SO ridiculously fun, both the chorus and the dance break
BTOB - "Wind and Wish"
this is just a wholesome song that makes you feel good, like is it a lil bit cheesy? yeah, but it's also Good Vibes Comma the Song, wearing its entire heart on its sleeve in the most endearing way. it's nostalgic and mellow and full of love for its friends and a zest for life
also special shoutout to the bridge, which in such an otherwise lowkey song did not have to go that hard and yet it Did?? that harmony gives me chills, 100% certified vocal kings would cry again
Shownu X Hyungwon - "Love Me a Little"
this is a pathetic meow meow song in the best possible way and was sadly beat out by the other slightly better pathetic meow meow songs on this list (guilty, predator, amnesia) bc it was just a really good year for them but I still think it deserves a mention bc first of all yea boi @ my mans shownu being free from the military but also the instrumental/dance break at the end is dark as hell and also SO fucking tasty
Infinite - "New Emotions"
another 2nd gen group that quietly had a renaissance this year! this song is simply a bop and while the song itself is not as memorable as some in the top 10 the choreo is actually really fun
also myungsoo looks really ridiculously fine as center in the first chorus and that's the last thing I have to say about this song,
Key - "Killer"
honestly I really liked both of key's cbs this year but I feel like killer was slept on somewhat, it's got a hint of sadboi but it's tempered by the upbeat 80s pop style, plus the grungy mullet and beret outfit from the MV was a fucking Look and a Half
And my favorites per month
January: Monsta X - "Beautiful Liar"
February: Purple Kiss - "Sweet Juice"
March: Onew - "O (Circle)"
April: Lee Gi Kwang - "Predator"
May: Dreamcatcher - "Bon Voyage"
June: SHINee - "HARD"
July: Exo - "Cream Soda"
August: MAMAMOO+ - "dangdang"
September: Key - "Good & Great"
October: Taemin - "Guilty"
November: VIXX - "Amnesia"
December: TVXQ - "Down"

Good morning brethren,
While meditating this morning, Isaiah 55:2 came to me and I went to check in out using 3versions (NLT, KJV, CBS). And this is what the Lord taught međ
When you read through and study deep, you will see that a remarkably relevant question was asked. In that verse, the invitation is clear, the offer is made, the provision is made, and everything is available â but we must still do 3things.
đ We MUST listen and not just listen but carefully (that is the CBS version). KJV version says hearken diligently unto me. It takes time, attention, and effort to listen carefully. The question is will you listen carefully to Abba? Will you hearken diligently?
đ We MUST eat what is good. This requires some discernment. We must choose what is good, and then eat that. Many of us just simply eat whatever spiritual meal is set before us, without taking care to see that it is good.
The KJV put the last one like this âand let your soul delight itself in fatnessâ.
đWe MUST let your soul delight itself in abundance. Even when we listen, even when we eat what is good, we still must let our soul delight itself in abundance. You can sit down at a great spiritual meal, but by your stubborness or bad attitude, simply not let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Grace to listen carefully to Abba and Grace to be discerning as you go on with your day đ Blessed morning. Peace to your day

The Winchesters is Unnecessarily Competent
I like to have TV on as background noise while I work and the other day, I put on The Winchesters because I thought it would be dumb and campy and I wouldnât have to pay attention. Iâd forgotten a Supernatural prequel series existed until scrolling past it on HBO Max. I had never seen a trailer or read any press about it, and I had no idea what I was walking into.
Iâm halfway through episode 1 when I see John Winchester team up in a poorly choreographed fight against a demon with Mary Campbell and I start paying attention, waiting for something to swoop in and roofie John to next Thursday, and wipe his memory. But that doesnât happen. This John knows exactly what demons are.
Having skipped seasons 8-15, save a few episodes here and there, of Supernatural, I missed most of the Men of Letters and Jack shenanigans. But I remember very clearly that a ton of drama in the earlier seasons came from the boys having no idea that their mother was a hunter, and came from a long line of hunters, until a reveal in season⊠4, I believe. John never had any idea of his wifeâs history, as shown through a couple time travel episodes.
This was a big deal to Sam and Dean. Earth-shattering revelations had all around.
So when The Winchesters decided to retcon that⊠morbid curiosity had me paying attention solely to find out if this would crash and burn spectacularly with how little the writers seemed to understand about the source material.
Only, The Winchesters didnât crash and burn. It has solid acting, decent period-appropriate costuming and set design, fantastic characters with a lot of depth, a very Supernatural main antagonist, especially toward the later seasons, and a very clear love and respect for the source material.
And Iâm⊠baffled?
The show was clearly designed for those who had seen Supernatural. The title credits are the same font and the title card has the same sound cues from Supernatural. Thereâs that old familiar classic rock soundtrack and tons of winks and nods to famous lines from the show, âSaving people, hunting thingsâ being one of them, âDriver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole,â as well.
When actors came to reprise their roles, the music swells upon the face reveal, thereâs a big dramatic pause so fangirls can squeal and point at the screen like DiCaprio in that meme. Jensen Ackles reprised his role to narrate and eventually makes an appearance on screen. Itâs a good time. Itâs a fun time. They rely on familiar faces just enough to have a laugh, and let the main cast of this show have the spotlight, all the way to the end.
Thereâs some heavy character moments, like Carlos confronting Loki and really, confronting himself, and Lata finally opening up about her past. They also brought in some unique and interesting monsters of the week that felt like the old show. I did think the convenience of using CB radios in lieu of cell phones was a bit, well, convenient, but it never broke the immersion.
But it screws the canon up so badly that I was still baffled until the very last closing info dump explaining that (spoiler alert) this entire show is one big AU, explaining away why Loki (wink wink, nudge nudge) goes down the way he goes, why the actors look different than those from Supernatural playing John, Mary, and Samuel, why these Akrida are never mentioned in Supernatural even though they were a massive threat in this prequel.
At first, I thought that was a massive cop-out. Making this an AU removes any complications the writers would have to face trying to maintain continuityâ none of what happens here matters in the main show and none of it adds any nuance because weâre not looking at the 1960s past of anyone we cared about in Supernatural. Iâm also sick of multi-verses at this point and studios thinking âmulti-verseâ adds any sort of stakes to a story.
Then the credits rolled and I had some thoughts.
Now I will say, there is some weirdness. Team Free Will this time around is rounded out by Carlos, whoâs gay and hispanic, and Lata, an Indian woman, and their Bobby stand-in, Ada, a black woman. And, the thorn in their side all season is a young, unmarried hispanic copâŠ. In Kansas. In 1960-something. Surrounded by white men.
All these characters are well-acted, well written, and well-developed, but given the time period, and the setting of middle-America⊠thereâs no racism or homophobia? And, apparently, thereâs a solid support system for vets suffering PTSD that totally, absolutely existed back then, for sure.
Weirdest nitpick to have, I know. Iâm happy not having an obligatory racist or homophobe bullying these characters, but the script almost seems to ignore that it existed entirely. Maybe on this Alternate Earth, everyone was living in Candy Land, but something definitely felt too polished about how un-hateful the side characters were. Not even surly Samuel is racist. Unless I missed something, of course correct me, it was on in the background for some moments and I donât remember every single scene after binging it all at once.
Deanâs ending expository monologue feels like an info-dump slap in the face, that canât be ignored. The final fight ends and none of these characters know who he is, heâs there for the audience, so heâs talking and I believe only John and Mary even get to ask him questions. The other characters are awkwardly silent, standing off-screen.
Cas doesnât exist. It would be weird to have him there when Sam never showed up, but given what happened with the Supernatural finale also pretending he doesnât exist, it was a little disappointing not seeing an appearance of his character in another vessel, or any of the angels, back when he was his old, awkward, stick-in-the-ass self. Sam gets a name drop, Bobby comes back, Crowley isnât mentioned by name, but thereâs a wink and a nod there, and... no Cas. At all.Â
But with all that said.
The Winchesters is just a fun romp in the past⊠and it knows it. Itâs not burdened by the chains of continuity. It can make these characters do and be whatever it wants. And, watching it post-pandemic, when so much of TV is stripped and streamlined into one long movie with no room for filler or side-quests, seeing filler and side-quests was refreshing. (I recently watched season 1 of Gotham for the first time and that same nostalgia for old storytelling hit. Sometimes filler is a good thing, damn it). The Winchesters, for a prequel series to a show that ran 15 seasons into the ground and blew up with a spectacularly infamous finale, is unnecessarily competent.

7th Annual Tennessee Titans 2024 Off-Season Game Plan
Charles BarnesÂ
Barnes UniversityÂ
Consultation

"Where Excellence Is Expected."
"Provide Difference."
Proverbs 3 Verse 6
3.18.24
Roster Engineering MBA
The goal of this off-season should be to assess the market at positions of need then practically find players that fit your culture. Last year the question was should the Titans be trying to retool or rebuild? I said they should re-establish, meaning identify, what it means to be a Titan. This year is about rebooting. Every position, every limiting belief, every inefficient way of execution.Â
View the 2024 free agency cycle as the draft before the draft. Truly get guys that you want to grow with. After my studies some positions will be barren for a couple of years at the very least, so with money to spend, getting your type of guys to invest in long-term would be ideal. Planning and strategy is my strength. It's not perfect but it's valuable and functional.Â
You had better get YOUR guy(s) at these positions this off-season. QB, TE, C, DT, Safety, K, P. Also save your money and don't sign large WR contracts because there's depth in the draft and volume in the years to come. If you must pay up, get yourself a few good veteran corners. These are working off of predominantly Titans centric evaluations of course. So If you have enough draft capital, getting a rookie corner or two is fine.Â
For this year in free agency you shouldn't overcommit to replacement level talent during the 1st or 2nd wave. Roster cuts during training camp and in season acquisitions can supplement that. I'll be very big on 3rd and 4th wave pickups to fill out the roster.
My Positional Potencyâąïž grades will be introduced this Off-Season Gameplan (OGP) as well and you'll see forecasting at it's finest per usual. Be aggressive with player archetypes that won't be available later. Titans should come with open wallets but be good stewards of their newfound cap space.Â
Here's a friendly and annual reminder that free agency comes BEFORE the draft.Â
Remember, Free Agency is a two way street. Interest meets Finances. This model shows how to MAXIMIZE this season's pool of talent for the year ahead. Being present in the moment and only squinting at the future. No, you don't mortgage your future in one season but you do try to form the best roster possible, all while keeping in mind the schedule and possible pitfalls. Drafting however, is the purest form of talent acquisition. Therefore it is the foundation in which dynasties are made.
Regardless of what they do, this is what I do.Â
That of course, is forming a Super Bowl roster that's as infallible as possible through the roster engineering practices I've learned throughout two decades of coaching and study.Â

(PFF analytics and grades were used in this project to further describe a player's impact and execution. It's important to reiterate that analytics broadly tell the story but momentum, pace, and emotion are the driving force. The important part of roster engineering is finding players who assist in administering those ebbs and flows. Emotional I.Q. and human nature still play a substantial role in my evaluations.)

Free Agent Synopsis/PFF Grade
1st Wave - Premium and/or priority signings within the first week of free agency. Competitive Offers and time sensitivity are a factor.Â
2nd Wave - A week or two after the first week of signings. Serviceable Depth - Can make the roster and could be starters.Â
3rd Wave - Depth/Glue Guys. Bargain Backups that are ready for training camp.Â
4th Wave - Veterans waiting on an opportunity. Usually after significant release timeframes. Think post training camp.
QB Mason RudolphÂ
"1st Wave:Â I was high on Mason Rudolph coming out of the draft in 2018 and have been an advocate for getting him on the Titans for awhile. It's good to see that come into fruition. Mason is one of the best deep ball throwers in the game. His rainbow shots are a thing of beauty and he possesses the ability to stand in the pocket and deliver strikes while taking hits. This isn't necessarily a world beater signing but I like it. Tennessee got themselves a competent backup with the ability to win games in a pinch. In a year I dubbed as the Year of the Quarterback you're going to want to attain and develop guys that are fits as well get security at the position." ($1.5M gtd at signing, $1.5M Base for 2023, $1M in incentives, 1 yr. $3M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 65.5 Ranked 30th out of 40 graded QBs. 65.8 Pass Grade, 28th best in the league. 58.6 Run Grade.
Other Options: #1 option Jacoby Brissett (Patriots were favorites) via trade - Justin Fields, Zach Wilson, Sam Howell, Carson Wentz, Gardner Minshew II, Jamies Winston, Joe Flacco, Sam Darnold
RB Gus Edwards
"1st Wave: With Derrick Henry's imminent departure it makes sense that you would want to keep what was successful in Tennessee going. Having the element of a physical run game is vital to having a well-rounded offensive attack. Edwards will provide that short yardage domination needed to keep the chains moving and to score touchdowns in the redzone. But he's not just a 3 yards and a cloud of dust type of runner he can also give you some explosive plays in the run and pass game. This low end investment also allows you to be flexible if post June 1st cuts happen at the position." ($2.5M at signing, $1M base for 2024, $500K in incentives, 1yr. $3.5M Practical.)Â
â PFF Grade: 73.7, 28th out of 59 graded RBs, 75.4 Rushing Grade is 29th out of 59 RBs.
Other Options: Derrick Henry, Tony Pollard, James Conner (if released), Alvin Kamara, (if released), Zack Moss, Antonio Gibson, Samaje Perine (if released), Alexander Mattison
Â
TE Noah Fant
"1st Wave: Unless you have the draft capital you had better get you a starting caliber dual threat TE in this free agency cycle. The 2024 draft has some guys but it may be difficult to get YOUR guy if you don't have the draft capital. So I went with Noah Fant. Fant has one of the better top end speeds at the position in the league and when you pair that with his size and catch radius you have a more than sufficient chess piece to your offense. He's not a road grader in the run game just yet but has improved every year he's been in the league. A fresh start would do him well in a more diverse passing attack." ($9.25M GTD at signing, $1.75M Base for 2024, 2 yr. $22M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 62.9, Ranked 30th out of 72 graded TE's. 59.6 Block Grade is 19th best in the NFL.
Other Options: Dalton Schultz, Gerald Everett, Hunter Henry, Will Dissly, Drew Sample, Charlie Woerner, Tanner HudsonÂ
WR Noah BrownÂ
"1st Wave: Noah Brown is a big bodied chain mover. He's a WR3 or WR4 who has played better than guys that will get double his salary for 2024. Tough and physical route runner that adds effective run after catch ability. Here's some data from @Pro__Ant on X that highlights how effective Brown has been. 6th in yards per target, 4th in yards per catch, 12th in first down %, 17th in QB rating when targeted, 19th in avg depth of catch, 20th in EPA per target, 31st in yards per route run. *Amongst 80 WRs w/at least 50 TGTs. This low end investment allows more flexibility for June 1st cuts at the position." ($1.5M at signing, $2M base for 2024, $1M in incentives, 1 yr. $3.5M Practical)
â PFF Grade: 73.0, 42nd out of 128 WRs.Â
Other Options: Michael Pittman Jr. (Trade), Brandin Cooks (if released), Christian Kirk (if released), Tyler Boyd, K.J. Osborn, Cedrick Wilson Jr., Darius Slayton (if released), Mack Hollins, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Trent Sherfield
WR Deonte Harty
"2nd-3rd Wave: Deonte Harty formerly known as Deonte Harris is one of my late round gems from the 2019 draft class out of Assumption University. He's a dynamic returner and is working hard to become a legitimate option in the receiving game. Offensively he provides gadget play and homerun capabilities." ($1M to sign, $1M base for 2024, $500K in incentives, 1 yr. $2M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 66.9, 68th out of 129 graded WRs.Â
Other Options: Mecole Hardman, Brandon Powell, Byron Pringle, Trenton Irwin, Ihmir Smith-MarsetteÂ
LT Cornelius LucasÂ
"2nd Wave: Titans could double dip here in the veteran OT market with Lucas and Cam Fleming. It is very well documented that they are two players that I think are underrated and provide high end pass blocking and when reps are there, run blocking as well." ($1M at signing, $1M Base for 2024, $500K in incentives, 1yr. $2.5M Practical.)Â
â PFF Grade: 62.8, 50th out of 82 OTs.Â
Other Options: Michael Onwenu (at Guard), Jermaine Eluemunor, Cameron Fleming, Tyron Smith, Trent Brown, David Quessenberry, Kendall Lamm, David Sharpe
Center Lloyd Cushenberry IIIÂ
"1st Wave: This would be a Kevin Mawae and Ben Jones type of signing here for the Titans. Cushenberry III is an impenetrable force as a pass blocker and a bully in the run game." ($25M at signing, $2M Base for 2024, 2 yr. $32M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 73.2, 10th out of 36 graded Centers. 72.4 Run Block Grade, 14th best in the league, 76.4 Pass Block Grade, 3rd best in the league.
Other Options: Andre James, Connor Williams, Tyler Biadasz, Mitch Morse, Evan Brown, Nick Gates, Michelle Deiter, Nick HarrisÂ
DL Arik ArmsteadÂ
"1st Wave: Armstead has interior pass rush prowess. A legitimate pass rush specialist. His length will disrupt pockets and throwing lanes." ($16M at signing, $8M base for 2024, $2M worth each season in incentives, 2 yr. $32M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 78.4, 87.1 Pass Rush Grade, 5th out of 130 Graded DL.
Other Options: Denico Autry, Calais Campbell, Mario Edwards Jr., Shelby Harris
ILB Frankie Luvu
"1st Wave: Frankie Luvu has earned the opportunity to be in free agency and has earned a big pay day. From being undrafted to one of the best in the league. He provides physicality and football speed. He can cover short area man or zone and blitz with the best of them." ($16M at signing, $2M base for 2024, 5M base in 2025, 2 yr. $23M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 80, 10th out of 82 LBs. 74 Run Defense Grade, 24th best, 67.7 Coverage Grade, 30th best, 90.1 Pass Rush Grade is 1st in the league on the 10th most attempts.
Other Options: Josey Jewell, Tyrel Dodson, Blake Cashman
ILB Willie Gay Jr.Â
"1st Wave: Willie Gay Jr. is a well built tank with untapped ability. He's young and would be a shrewd investment because of how much growth his game can have. At his best he's running and hitting." ($2M at signing, $2M Base for 2024, $2M in incentives, 1 yr. $4M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 55.9, 72nd out of 82 LBs. 72.7 Run Defense Grade, 29th best in the league.
Other Options: Nicholas Morrow, Azeez Al-Shaair, Denzel Perryman, Jamal Adams, Dylan Cole
DT D.J. Reader
"1st Wave: Reader is big time addition and one hell of a pairing with Jeffery Simmons. He is still able to garner double teams and push the pocket. His presence alone allows so many more players to work off of him and truly shine within their strengths. He's coming off of injury but has returned as good or better when it occurred earlier in his career." ($8M at signing, $1M Base in 2024, $2M in incentives. 1 yr. $11M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 82.2,, 11th out of 130 iDL, 75.3 Run Defense Grade, 9th out of 130 iDL, 79.1 Pass Rush Grade, 13th out of 130 iDL.
Other Options: Grover Stewart, Sheldon Rankins, Justin Jones, Tim Settle, Armon Watts, Kevin Givens, Adam Butler, Greg Gaines
DE Derek BarnettÂ
"2nd-3rd Wave: Barnett was a solid contributor last season. He wins with high effort and strength. He's plays with discipline and is assignment sound. Chase Young was strongly considered here as well. But I think there will be training camp and in season movement to improve the edge position. After investing elsewhere I pivoted but Young would be an intriguing one year rental." ($1.5M at signing. $2M Base for 2024, $1M in incentives, 1yr. 3.5M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 82.4, 19th out of 112 Edge Defenders, 74.3 Run Defense Grade, 20th of 112 Edge Defenders, 73.9 Pass Rush Grade, 34th out of 112 Edge Defenders.
Other Options: Chase Young, Shaquil Barrett, Andrew Van Ginkel, Dorance Armstrong, Jadeveon Clowney, A.J. Epenesa
Cornerback Kendall Fuller
"1st Wave: The incredibly well-rounded corner Kendall Fuller. Plays exceptional in all facets of the game. If anything speed has reduced but he makes up for any deficiencies with savy body positioning and leverage." ($7M at signing, $2M Base for 2024. 1 year $9M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 83.1, 7th out of 127 Cornerbacks. 78.1 Run Defense Grade, 18th best in the league, 82.8 Coverage Grade, 9th best in the league.
Other Options: LâJarius Sneed (Trade), Kenny Moore II, Jeff Okudah, Chidobe Owuzie, Stephon Gilmore
Cornerback Ronald Darby
"1st Wave: Ronald Darby played well under current defensive coordinator in Tennessee and would make sense to reconnect. He can run with the best of them.â ($3M at signing, $2M Base, $3.5M Base in 2025, $1.5M in incentives.)
â PFF Grade: 70.8, 36th out of 127 Cornerbacks, 72.9 Coverage Grade, 32nd best in the league.
Other Options: Sean Murphy-Bunting, Darious Williams, Michael Jackson (RFA), Dane Jackson, TreâDavious White, Tavierre Thomas, Nick McCloud (RFA)
Safety Justin Simmons
"1st Wave: Simmons brings a wealth of football knowledge to the secondary and can still make plays. He's incredibly instinctive and rangy. He'll fill alleys in the run game too. This would be an investment to push forward culture. Titans need veteran leadership and direction not just a group of young and paid guys. DeShon Elliott was strongly considered here as well.â ($5M at signing, $3M base, $1 yr. 8M Practical.)
â PFF Grade: 67.9, 42nd out of 95 Safeties, 77.6 Run Defense Grade, 16th out of 95 Safeties.
Other Options: DeShon Elliott, Julian Blackmon, Xavier McKinney, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Geno Stone, Kamren Curl, Kevin Byard, Jordan Whitehead, Jordan Fuller, Isaiah Simmons, John Johnson III, Mike Edwards, Brandon Jones
Trade Synopsis
QB Malik Willis to the Baltimore Ravens for a 7th RD pick 228 OverallÂ
The Chargers are also an option here. The Titans took Malik Willis with the 86th pick of the 2022 draft when he was talked up to be a Top 20 selection. He was thought to be a project then and still is in some ways. After a failure from the coaching staff to adapt to his skillset or even come up with a competent package, Willis is left underdeveloped. Not much effort was put forth to use a unique skillset in order to ignite an otherwise stale offense. He clearly struggled in the traditional scheme that the Titans ran. The 2023 preseason was a breakthrough but didn't have enough reps as the QB2 for the rest of the season even after QB1 Ryan Tannehill got injured.
A fresh start in a scheme that highlights his strengths would be ideal. He needs to be able to put his athleticism on display and have an organization that buys into his development. The Titans were in a tough spot. The previous coaching regime was in win now mode, when as an organization they needed to review where they truly wanted to go. A lot of solid young players were caught in that mess.Â
The fit in Los Angeles is good, now that Greg Roman is there but the Ravens have no backup that took significant NFL snaps last season. Josh Johnson is close to retiring and Malik Cunningham will be in Year 2 and spent time as a part-time WR in New England.Â
Acquiring a late round pick allows the Titans to select coveted players that may have been college free agents otherwise.
â PFF Grade: 45.9, 4 of 5, 74 yardsÂ
WR Treylon Burks to the Dallas Cowboys for a 7th RD pick 244 OverallÂ
The Jets are also an option here. Treylon Burks feels like a forced draft pick that was made because the previous front office didn't want to pay a Top 5 WR in the league. Tennessee needed to replace that skillset with someone they thought was similar. When in reality he was a big slot/gadget WR.
The Jets make sense because they need a bigger WR to add to their corps. The Cowboys make sense for similar reasons. They're cap strapped with needs at RB, OL, DB and need talent at WR especially after Michael Gallup was released. Trading Burks would be something ideal for both parties.Â
Acquiring a late round pick allows the Titans to select coveted players that may have been college free agents otherwise.
      â PFF Grade: 52.4, 16 catches, 221 yards.
Roster Dissertation and Overview
2023 Season: Record 6-11
Final 2023 Strength of Schedule: 15th Most Difficult.
Longest Win Streak: 1Â
Longest Losing Streak: 3
Most Impressive Win: 28-27, WK14 @ MiamiÂ
Most Disappointing Loss: 31-28, WK13 vs. Colts
2023 Strengths: Some young guys stepped up and played well. Long-time Titans vets had their farewell. They may have found THEIR QB.
2023 Weaknesses: This team chose to run it back when they should've been in sell mode. It was a culmination of poor roster engineering, and sheer lack of ingenuity.Â
â
My Quality Control/Special Projects. Over The Years
2008 - Chris Johnson, Jason Jones
2009 - Michael Johnson, Mike Wallace, Ramon Foster
2010 - Dez Bryant, Everson GriffenÂ
2011 - Chris Harris Jr., Tyrod Taylor, Malcolm Smith
2012 - Russell Wilson, Mohamed SanuÂ
2013 - Le'Veon Bell, Brandon Williams, William Gholston, Vince WilliamsÂ
2014 - HOF Aaron Donald. Jimmy Garoppolo in the 2nd round.
The Royal Flush: 2015 Draft included - Leonard Williams, Rob Havenstein, Stefon Diggs, Trey Flowers, Kwon Alexander, Adrian Amos, Darren Waller, Josh Robinson, Kurtis Drummond
2016 - Jack Conklin, Myles Jack, Tyler Boyd, Yannick Ngakoue, Clayton FejedelemÂ
2017 - Christian McCaffrey and TreâDavious White in the first round. Enough said.
Moneyball Plays: 2018 - Targeting Demario Davis in free agency (still a Top 5 LB in the NFL currently) to have the flexibility to Draft WR D.J. Moore.Â
2019 - Random Experimental draft for me but Titans in real time did extremely well. I concurred with every pick.Â
Predicted/Lent Out Historical Titans Playoff TDs - "The Tebow" Derrick Henry TD pass to Corey Davis and the OL TD Pass to Dennis Kelly in the 2020 Playoffs. Tagged position coaches to my videos suggesting this, they saw them, then the Titans proceeded to do it. Coincidence or borrowing?
2021 - WR Elijah Moore in the First Round. Titans spent a combined $55M on Vic Beasley, Jadeveon Clowney, and Bud Dupree and got SEVEN sacks in return.Â
Meanwhile Guys I Wanted to Sign:
Robert Quinn: 21.5 Sacks, Markus Golden: 13.5 sacks, Al-Quadin Muhammad: 1 sack. For under $40M.Â
That's THIRTY-SIX sacks in the same timespan.Â
2022 - To be continued. But it was a haul with WR Treylon Burks, QB Malik Willis, DT Travis Jones, S Nick Cross, OT Kellen Diesch, WR Jalen Nailor, CB Montaric Brown, WR Dareke Young, RB Zonovan Knight
2023 - WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR Jonathan Mingo, RB Devon Achane, OL Jordan McFadden, iOL Luke Wypler, S Trey Dean IIIÂ
Practice Squad Signings:Â
QB Will Grier - I wasn't as high on Grier when he came out of West Virginia in 2019 but he's developed into a solid backup. Grier has the mobility and arm ability to move the ball down the field. He should push somebody's QB room this season for a QB3 role. I also like Tanner Mordecai here.
RB Patrick Taylor - Taylor is a big physical RB with finishing ability. I also like Montrell Johnson Jr. here.
RB Boston Scott - Scott is a multi-dimensional scatback with the ability to create explosive plays as a runner or pass catcher.
WR David Moore - Moore was in my 2021 OGP before and was a pleasant surprise to most when they saw him making plays in Tampa Bay last year. I expect him to go unnoticed again and be an ideal stash on the practice squad. Physical for his size and a downfield playmaker.
WR Chase Claypool - You will definitely have to vet this player's commitment to football but after that process, you'll have a big-time reclamation project on your hands. If he can find a role as a big bodied, combact catcher that gets after it as a run blocker he could be a story to watch next season. I also like Jesse Matthews here.
WR Steven Sims Jr. - Sims Jr. is someone I observed that had a knack for returns. When the Titans were searching for a returner he was on my radar. Turns out he stuck with Houston and had a punt return for a touchdown in their playoff game vs. Baltimore. Sims Jr. is an instinctive runner after the catch and a versatile pickup for any practice squad. I also like Isaiah Wooden here.
TE Brycen Hopkins - Hopkins quietly put together a solid Year 4 campaign with the Rams. He'd be an excellent pickup to try and develop even more. I also like Maleak Bryant here.
OT Justin Skule - Skule has starter experience but has been dinged up. He has the size and skillset to continue to push the low depth chart and compete.
OT Theo Benedet - Workable traits and frame. Benedet needs to add weight however and get stronger. I like the upside of a signing like this.
OG Calvin Throckmorton - Throckmorton was a late season add in 2023 and it would be smart to bring him back on the practice squad to continue to develop but this time with new coaches.Â
OG Phil Haynes - Big, physical guard that needs to stay healthy and take coaching to take his game to the next level.
DE Rasheem Green - Green could be a situational pass rusher on a team today. But I think he'll be one of those guys that will be ignored until the 3rd or 4th wave of free agency then be undervalued. He's a steal to have because he can effect a game when he's used the right way.
LB Mykal Walker - Most draftniksâ favorite âsleeper LBâ a couple of seasons ago, Walker has been somewhat of a journeyman here recently. He'd be a good get to be able to coach him to better use his athleticism and physicality at the point of attack.
CB James Pierre - Pierre needs to regain his confidence and develop some consistency in his game. He has good size and traits.
K Cole Murphy - Titans need a young K to develop behind Nick Folk. There's a handful of guys out there. Murphy has upside. I like Taylor Vizcaino here as well.Â
P Pressley Harvin III - Harvin III has been inconsistent recently as a player but stashing his skillset as a contingency plan while Ryan Stonehouse gets back to optimum health would be smart. PHIII has the ability to be a starter. Tyler Zentner is in play here as well.Â
Original Draft Selections/Acquired After Trade: *updates to prospect options, round projections and udfa lists will happen until the draft*
Trade down from #7: Legit Options I'd consider. TE Brock Bowers, EDGE Laiatu Latu, Dallas Turner or Taliese Fuaga.Â
Trade down from #38: Pick OT Joe Alt at 7, WR Roman Wilson, Ricky Pearsall in the 2nd.Â
Round 1, Pick 7 - WR Malik Nabers LSUÂ
"Malik Nabers was the best WR tape I've watched since DeAndre Hopkins and Tyler Lockett. The possibilities are endless when it comes to what he can do in this league. His run after catch ability is electric. His ability to track the ball and show late hands is superb. He got open in the SEC without having to show elite route running but will need to take coaching and improve that area of his game."Â
OT Joe Alt, WR Rome Odunze, OT Olu Fashanu
TE Brock Bowers, Taliese Fuaga, Laiatu Latu, Dallas Turner
Round 2, Pick 38 - OT Javon Foster Missouri Â
"It was a toss up between Foster and Paul. I chose to go with the SEC pedigree and better all-around game. Foster has dominated the most competitive conference in college football for years. Long arms and people moving ability he has room to improve with his technique but is extremely coachable and should adapt to the next level."
OT Patrick Paul, RB Trey Benson, WR Troy Franklin, Mason McCormickÂ
SAF Tyler Nubin, LB Edgerrin Cooper, LB Payton Wilson
NT T'Vondre Sweat, Ruke OrhorhoroÂ
Round 4, Pick 106 - RB Ray Davis KentuckyÂ
"I couldn't pass on taking one of my favorite runners in the draft. He's one of the best dual threat RBs in the draft."
RB Kimani Vidal, RB Tyrone Tracy Jr.
TE Jared Wiley, SAF Beau Brade, DT Tyler Davis
 Â
Round 5, Pick 146 - WR Tahj Washington USC
"I've said this before. Don't be surprised if Tahj Washington ends up being the best pure slot WR from this draft class if he's drafted to a team that's in 11 personnel a lot. A bit undersized by metrics standards but he could be Jordan Addison-lite at the next level."Â
CB Dwight McGlothern, CB M.J. Devonshire, CB Marcellas Dial, LB Trevin Wallace, SAF Trey Taylor, EDGE Marshawn Kneeland, EDGE Mohamed Kamara, EDGE Javon Solomon
Â
iOL Matthew Jones, WR Jalen McMillan, WR Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Round 6, Pick 182 - OL Delmar Glaze Â
"The oh so versatile Delmar Glaze, at least that's what will be expected of him at the next level. Long arms and brute strength. Has swing OL potential but should be able to play guard and center."Â
RB Kiyan Williams, RB Kendall Milton, RB Deshaun Fenwick, SAF Kenny Logan Jr. LB Nathaniel Watson
Â
G Brandon Coleman, TE Tanner McLachlan, TE Erick All
Round 7, Pick 221 - WR Ryan Flournoy Southeast Missouri State
"Ryan Flournoy is a player that's been connected to the Titans throughout the whole process. I don't if it's because he's from a smaller school or what but Flournoy is legit. At 4.4 speed and willingness to work and improve, he should be able to find a role in this league."
WR Lideatrick Griffin, WR Xavier Weaver, WR Lincoln Victor
Â
SAF Jason Maitre, DL Keith Randolph Jr., LB Tatum Bethune
Round 7, Pick 227 - DB Tarheeb Still MarylandÂ
"Tarheeb is a multi-talented late round grab. Cornerback, but I think he can play safety too. Covers well and will help in run support. He provides sufficient return ability on special teams.âÂ
DB Malik Dunlap, DB Quan'tez Stiggers
Â
LB Aaron Casey, K Joshua Karty
Round 7, Pick 228 - (from Ravens) OLB Khalid Duke Kansas State
âDuke is developmental edge prospect. His first step is impressive but he's raw as a technician. Will need to get stronger and develop a pass rush plan. Until then he will compete for reps on special teams.â
QB Tanner Mordecai, QB Emory Jones, QB/ATH John Rhys Plumlee, QB Jack Plummer
P Ryan Rehkow, DT Myles MurphyÂ
Round 7, Pick 242 - QB/ATH Jason Bean KansasÂ
âI couldn't pass on the unique talent that is Jason Bean. He's unlike any athlete in the draft from the standpoint that he plays QB but can score from anywhere on the field. Not via pass but by running. If he can learn an NFL scheme and put on 20 lbs. that would be wonderful. Could also see him as a returner or WR convert.â
iOL Charles Turner III, DT Jowon Briggs
WR Jalon Calhoun, QB Jeremy MoussaÂ
Round 7, Pick 244 - (from Cowboys) DT Popo Aumavae OregonÂ
âYou put on the tape you're going to see Aumavae long arming and moving people out of the way. He has an impressive pass rush arsenal that has shades of a young Jurrell Casey.â
LB Eugene Asante, LB Maema Njongmeta
iOL Josiah Ezirim, WR Hayden HattenÂ

2024 Forecast and SummaryÂ
The Titans play the AFC East and NFC North this year and play the fourth place teams from 2023 in other divisions. Those teams are the Washington Commanders, Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers.Â
The AFC South has been upgraded this past season. Houston looks to be a powerhouse. Nick Caserio is dealing. Jacksonville and Indianapolis are on the ropes but still a competent out on any given Sunday. There is a need to establish dominance.Â
This season should be approached with a frugal approach to positional spending and paying up for high-end impact players. The trenches will need to be filled with strong and athletic players.Â
Culture will be vital. With a new coaching staff it will be imperative that there is buy in at some point. Veteran players can assist with that. Changing personality types and expectations can be a process but most importantly you have to be aware of who you bring in to help administer the New Way.Â
From a culture perspective there could be mixed results based on M.O. and from a play style perspective, leaning too much on data or pass happy tendencies could cause problems. But overall this is a much needed growth process for all parties that will lead to the inevitable. Adaptation or extinction.
I've made this team as competitive as I could while building a foundation that aligns philosophically with what I believe wins in this league. And that's with play style varianceâąïž on offense and disciplined chaosâąïž on defense.

Yearly Word Count: 120684
Well. This yearâs writing was kind of awful word count wise. Iâm amazed at how much was posted compared to total word count. Usually I have twice as much written as posted, but it feels pretty even this time around. I moved this year, which definitely impacted writing, but in general Iâve not felt like writing as much as I used to, which has led to far shorter daily word counts. I averaged about 330/day, where Iâm usually closer to 500, but so it goes. Maybe next year will be better. Hereâs to a new year. If anyone is interested in snippets from things I havenât published, send me an ask and Iâll put a few sentences up for you. :) Happy New Year, guys!

Feels like an end of an era.
Yeah, by the end of it some of the Arrowverse shows were not fun but Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow were still amazing. And this was the network that gave us Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
And yeah, I'm mourning The Vampire Diaries 'verse too for all my love and hate for that franchise.
Veronica Mars, Smallville...
I doubt we'll get the likes of these again, I don't even know if Nancy Drew is going to last under the new owners when it killed Tom Swift dead-- I didn't even know Tom Swift aired, and that was a spinoff of Nancy Drew.
But it sure will have the Walker, Texas Ranger show and its spinoff, and whatever Supernatural's doing.
I also highly doubt Babylon 5 will push through.
CW's death knell started on the day WB and Paramount Plus/CBS forced CW to end its contract with Netflix -- CW's money-maker deal so HBO Max and Paramount Plus (TBH I don't know which shows went there from CW) can cannibalize CW's TV shows for itself.
CW, I knew you as WB with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Dawson's Creek, and Charmed. And then you did that weird thing with UPN and BtVS moved to UPN. And then UPN and WB merged and became CW.
You were a weird network that beat to your own drum and survived through content deals around the world and Netflix. And then Zaslav / DiscoveryBros took over and refused to renew leases for studios thus unceremoniously ending several shows in a fell swoop.
Sources say Pedowitz wanted to bring back the Greg Berlanti-produced DC Comics dramas Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow but Warners no longer wanted to pay the leases on the studio space, which expired May 1, and prompted April 29 cancellations. Plecâs Legacies was also said to be a financial decision made by the studio.
(This is why when I saw petitions started appearing hoping HBO Max will come in to save Batwoman, LoT, and Legacies I knew it won't happen because I've already read how little Zaslav thought of HBO Max. And that Zaslav was the likely culprit for deciding against renewing the leases on the studios shared by LoT and Batwoman).

21 Animated Projects Weâre Anticipating in 2021
1) Arlo the Alligator Boy (Netflix/Titmouse)
This 2D musical feature film for the streaming service will set up a series (âI Heart Arloâ) about an alligator looking for family in a âRegular Showâ-type world. The music blew us away during the preview at 2020âČs CTN Expo.
2) Bobâs Burgers: The Movie (Disney/20th Century/Bento Box)
While the Fox show is loved for its humor and heart and not really for its animation, this feature film from the show creator Loren Bouchard will have a glossier look, as Bento Box animates on a feature budget and timeline. Expected in theaters on April 9, 2021.
3) The Boss Baby 2: Family Business (DreamWorks/Universal)
This March, DreamWorks Animation brings the brothers back together â to deal with the new cutthroat boss (baby) in the family.
4) Connected (Sony Animation)Â
Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie) support Gravity Falls alum Mike Rianda in his feature directorial debut. Riandaâs brand of wacky humor sets this humans vs. robots film up for a great time, if the company can set a release date.
5) Encanto (Disney)Â
Zootopiaâs Byron Howard leads director team Jared Bush and Charise Castro Smith in this musical super power story set in Colombia, coming this fall.
6) Earwig and the Witch (Studio Ghibli/GKIDS)
Goro Miyazaki, son of legendary Hayao Miyazaki and director in his own right, brings Ghibli magic to theaters for the first time in six years. This film differs from its predecessors with stylized cg animation, but the story â an orphaned girl learns sheâs the daughter of a witch â promises much of the wonder that one expects of any Ghibli film.Â
7) Luca (Pixar)Â
Director Enrico Casarosa debuts with Pixarâs Italian Riviera-set story of friendship between a boy and a boy-shaped sea monster, which arrives this June.
8) Minions 2: Rise of Gru (Illumination/Universal)
Weâve seen Gruâs future and his yellow minionsâ past, but finally Illumination highlights the in-between in a villain origin story we hope will be as fun as the first three Despicable Me films.
9) My Fatherâs Dragon (Cartoon Saloon/Netflix)
Itâs a great year for dragon-lovers, with Cartoon Saloon supplying the first of three feature films about these awesome creatures. Director Nora Twomey brings to life a Newberry-winning book, with help from âInside Outâ scribe Meg LeFauve and writer John Morgan. A boy who runs away to Wild Island finds much more than the captive dragon he sought.
10) Guillermo del Toroâs Pinocchio (Netflix/Jim Henson)
Another ambition animated feature from Netflix, Pinocchio sets itself apart from other versions of the folk tale in its look â stop-motion by Jim Hensonâs studio â and feel, with Guillermo del Toroâs signature dark brilliance under veteran director Robert Zemeckisâ helm. This will not be very family friendly.
11) Raya and the Last Dragon (Disney)Â
A warrior seeks the legendary last dragon hundreds of years after those mythical creatures saved her world from the same evil threat they now face. Coming to theaters and Disney+ (for a fee) in March.
12) Robin Robin (Netflix/Aardman)
This animated musical holiday special comes from the minds behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. It may be a long way from December now, but weâre ready for some stop-motion Christmas fun, especially when the story follows a bird raised by mice.Â
13) Ronâs Gone Wrong (Disney/20th Century/Locksmith)
Female-led production company Locksmith brings its first animated feature to life under Disney-owned 20th Century (Fox), âRonâs Gone Wrong.â Set in a world where every child has its own robot assistant, a boy tries to fix his faulty robot this April.
14) Rumble (Paramount/ReelFX)
Based on a graphic novel by Rob Harrell, this film explores the challenges of a world where humans coach monsters in pro wrestling. Yes, really. Weâll see where it goes in May.
15) Sing 2 (Illumination/Universal)
Buster and his band of musical animals return with visions of stardom, or at least attempts to persuade a certain rockstar to join them in this sequel to the Animalsâve Got Talent film, expected in December.
16) Space Jam: A New Legacy (Warner Bros/WAG)
LeBron James joins the Looney Tunes in this not-quite-sequel to the 1990s classic live-action hybrid film. Weâre especially looking forward to prolific voice actor Eric Bauzaâs performance as Bugs Bunny, among other Looney favorites!Â
17) The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run (Nickelodeon/Paramount)
After teasing us with seemingly infinite ads for this film, weâve been waiting some time for the newest SpongeBob feature film in the United States, which arrives on CBS All-Access and video-on-demand services in February. The story of SpongeBob and Patrickâs journey to save the snail-napped Gary has already premiered in Canadian theaters and in other countries on Netflix.
18) Tom and Jerry (Warner Bros/WAG)
The live-action/CG hybrid film bring Tom and Jerry to the big screen and HBO Max this February. When Jerry accidentally crashes âthe wedding of the century,â Tom is hired to get rid of the mouse, reigniting the famous rivalry and uncovering a secret plot in the process.
19) Vivo (Sony Animation)
Lin-Manuel Miranda delivers Sonyâs first animated musical, about a capuchin monkey with big dreams, this June.
20) Wendell and Wild (Netflix)
âNightmare Before Christmasââ own Henry Selick returns to stop-motion to direct Netflixâs adventure story of two demon brothers (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) who escape the Underworld.
21) Wish Dragon (Sony Animation)
An old teapot transforms college student Dinâs meager life into something fantastic when he discovers Long, a Wish Dragon, inside.Â

The Return of Ship Name Silliness
So! Anyone remember this particular post of mine: Ship Name Silliness? Iâm guessing not, as itâs from late 2017 and thus about four-and-a-half years old at this point. The short version is that I made it when I came up with the name for my Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily foursome ship, Vemilicia, and it covered both that and pretty much every combination of the four that I could come up with. Well, I looked it up recently (because I was like âI think I used the wrong ship name on that post about OT3s and everyoneâs respective roles for Victor/Victoria/Emilyâ), and I have decided to make a sequel to the nonsense because -- well, I have a lot more poly ships featuring a lot more characters these days! So, without further ado, here are the ships that I currently have for Victor/Alice universes:
Featuring Victor and Alice themselves:
Valice -- Obviously, the core ship of Victor/Alice, present in most of my fics! A requirement for these universes, I think you will agree. (Donât point at âLonderland Bloodlines,â itâs coming!) Iâm reasonably certain that @danydarkly is the originator of this name, and I liked it so much I adopted it as the âofficialâ ship name.
Vemilicia -- The poly ship that inspired the first post, as above -- Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily. I was an OT3 shipper for the main Corpse Bride trio before getting into Valice, so combining the two ships was probably inevitable. :p So far, my only major fic for it is âThe Technicolor Phase,â but âLonderland Bloodlinesâ is eventually going to go in that direction too.
(Oh, and since I just mentioned the CB OT3 -- yes, I did originally use the wrong ship name in the OT3 post linked above. As seen below, I intended âVemiliaâ for just Victoria/Emily. The one I came up for Victor/Victoria/Emily was Vemiglot -- a combination of âVemilyâ (Victor/Emily) and âEverglotâ (Victoriaâs last name, because her and Victorâs first names are too similar to use together). Though, now that Emily has a semi-canonical last name from that old script that went around a while back, âMerrimack,â you could also do Everdortmack (combining it with the standard Victor/Victoria âEverdortâ name).)
Cuddlepile -- Previously my biggest poly ship, and the first without a portmanteau name -- itâs Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily/Christopher/Richard, aka âthe main Vemilicia ship plus the two versions of The White Knight and The Hatter that Iâve shipped Victoria and Emily with before (see below).â I came up with this one while doing various sexual orientation headcanons for my characters after discovering and liking the âAlice is ace/on the ace spectrumâ tumblr posts from a few years back, and itâs persisted ever since. This is specifically a Modern AU set during everyoneâs college years -- Christopher White is an inventor who is interested in food science (referencing the White Knightâs infamous gunpowder pudding) and Richard Hatter is an agender master of prosthetic limbs (both xe and Emily use them in this verse thanks to various accidents, and of course it references how the AMA Hatter is mostly steampunk robot these days). It features most prominently on my RP blog, @thevalicemultiverse.
Queer Apocalypse -- One of the newer kids on the block, my second foursome ship and another I couldnât think of a good portmanteau for -- this is Victor/Alice/Preston/Piper, the latter two being specifically Preston Garvey and Piper Wright from Fallout 4. As you might imagine, this is specific to my âFallout of Darknessâ universe. :p Basically what happened here is I fell in love with both of these companions on my first attempt at a playthrough of FO4, and decided that Victor (who is bisexual in my headcanons) could fall in love with them too. Prestonâs just such a genuinely good guy, and Piper has exactly the kind of spunk Victor appreciates in a partner. :) I havenât romanced either in my current playthrough (too early with Piper, and I need more Charisma-enhancing stuff to try it with Preston, as Victor is LOW Charisma), but I do intend to!
Valicer -- Pretty much the newest kid on the block, and the start of some of the weirder shipping on this list -- Victor/Alice/Smiler. As in The Smiler roller coaster. Because for some reason I got obsessed with the damn thing last year, had some thoughts about a hypnokinky Valice AU that featured the actual coaster -- and then Victor came up with his own AU within that featuring a romance with an AI version of the coaster, which led to me eventually creating a humanized coaster OC and yeah. I donât understand my brain either. I have gotten rather invested in this weirdly cute threesome, though -- a Sims 4 vampire version, Smiler Always, now lives in my Chill Save and is dating Victor while being great buds with Alice (Victor and Alice having married some time earlier -- theyâre all marked as polyamorous though), and I have multiple versions of the fanfic OC, Smiler Alton, for a couple of different universes, including âLonderland Bloodlines,â âFallout of Darkness,â and the âAs Long As You Love Meâ holistic verse. . .
Four Victorians On A Roller Coaster -- And realizing that a couple of those verses, notably âAs Long As You Love Me,â were leading to a Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily/Smiler match-up is how we got this. See, my brain was able to come up with a ship name for it! Not being a ship that lent itself well to a portmanteau (I guess the closest would be âVemliciar?â), I instead decided to focus on the silliness of it all. XD Obviously havenât written anything for it yet, but itâs in the background of a couple of verses, including âAs Long As You Love Me,â possibly âLonderland Bloodlinesâ (depending on how long it takes me to write the âmain storyâ -- Smiler would be introduced in a sequel set long after the main action of Bloodlines), and a fairy tale AU idea I will be detailing in a future post.
Running Headlong Into The Bullshit -- And just because, I decided to come up with a ship name for ALL OF THE ABOVE PUT TOGETHER -- Victor/Alice/Victoria/Emily/Christopher/Richard/Preston/Piper/Smiler. XD Yes, NINE FREAKING PEOPLE. You need a flow chart to track the relationships here. XD I actually originally was thinking of this as âAlphabet Soupâ (because this would be IMPOSSIBLE to portmanteau), but changed it to the current one after doing that OT3 post linked above and realizing how often Victor is dragged into bullshit by his love interests. XD If youâre wondering how this would work, I picture it as a variation on the main Cuddlepile verse, with Preston, Piper, and Smiler also college students -- Preston volunteers a lot and is part of an âanachronistic historyâ joke-reenactment group for fun (hence keeping his âMinuteman with a laser musketâ aesthetic); Piper is either on the school paper or has created her own alternative; and Smiler is a psychology student and is known for throwing the best parties.
Side Ships not featuring Victor and Alice:
Vemilia -- As stated above, Victoria/Emily as their own ship! This was inspired by me seeing âVemilyâ used as a Victor/Emily ship name, and figuring âVemiliaâ would be the natural version to use for Victoria/Emily. I havenât used it much as a side ship -- currently itâs only in âAs Long As You Love Meâ -- but itâs there as an option!
LizJangles -- Probably the most popular side ship I have, this is Lizzie/Bonejangles -- AKA, Aliceâs sister Lizzie Liddell and ensemble darkhorse of Corpse Bride Bonejangles! Much like Valice itself, them getting together wasnât really intentional on my part -- I just thought it would be interesting if they interacted, and things took off from there. I like them as a ship because Bonejangles is such a different kind of person from the men that so annoyed Lizzie in life, I figured heâd be a breath of fresh air for her, and Lizzie allows Bonejangles to show a softer, less showmany side of himself. Theyâre just a fun dynamic, and I like including them when I can. Obviously theyâre most obvious as a ship in the Forgotten Vows Verse (having a whole side story, âIn The Land Of The Deadâ), but they also pop up in âThe Technicolor Phase,â and theyâre intended to show up eventually in âLonderland Bloodlines.â
Victopher -- Probably the most common side ship so far in my stories, this is Victoria/Christopher, covering both Sir Christopher Lloyd from the Secundus Verse and Christopher White from the Forgotten Vows Verse. As stated in the Cuddlepile write-up, the Christophers are meant to be a take on the White Knight from Wonderland, since it amused me to ship Victoria with a Wonderland character while giving her a happy ending that didnât necessarily mean ending up with Victor. And as you might guess from the Secundus version, theyâre named after and at least partially based on Christopher Lloydâs portrayal of the role in that one Hallmark version that I otherwise donât like very much. They too have a good dynamic, I feel -- Christopher in either incarnation is an open and caring guy, with a touch of bombastic-ness to his personality that I like. :)
Richily -- And now to the least common side ship, since itâs really only appeared once -- Richard/Emily, from the Secundus Verse! Again, this was born of wanting Emily to have an alternate love interest that was also a Wonderland character, so she got the Hatter. Whom she could bond with because of loose limb problems. XD It really only works in Secundus because Richard never had the âturned evil onceâ problem Hatter did in the games, and because it was written before I decided Emily was a biromantic lesbian (though, admittedly, the sexual incompatibility would never come up for them, given Emilyâs dead and Richardâs mostly robot and not that interested) -- I can see her getting along with the actual Hatter, but not being romantically interested in him. Currently itâd probably only show up in Secundus-related stories, and as part of larger poly groups, like Cuddlepile and Running Headlong Into The Bullshit.
And there you have it! Or at least there I have it, since I donât know how many of you are gonna use these ship names. XD But theyâre there if you need them!
