i had a weird dream about lu being in love with polo for some reason???? but like canon s2 timeline so everything w caye is the same it's just lu loves polo and now i'm so tempted to write it (also thinking about how the only pair that wasn't really explored much in any way was polu apart from the ending & was probably the writers' way of saying we'll give you the least likely possibility but.) i guess it's because i'm knee deep in the love rivals trope and caye and lu were friends for most of s2, thanks carla and rebeka

Happy Halloween! Here’s a little Elite x Hocus Pocus (feat. Witch!Lu 🔥)

I put a spell on you

"Thank you for joining us, Mr. Garcia," Mrs. Birch said dryly. "I'm glad you're here to hear the story I'm about to tell about some of our town's most famous daughters…"

The whole class intoned it with her: "The Sanderson sisters."

Samuel had never heard of these supposedly uber-famous sisters, but considering that the entire town was bursting at the seams with black cats, pointy hats and broomsticks, he had a pretty good idea of what was coming.

"The Sanderson sisters were the most powerful witches Salem had ever seen."

Yep. Witches. Of course it was witches. Samuel tuned out his teacher's overdramatic voice and stared out the window at the falling leaves. Why did his mom have to get a job not only in New England, where fall was cold and the air annoyingly crisp, but in Cuckoo Central? People here took their childish ghost stories so damn serious-

“Mr. Garcia!" Case in point.

"You should be paying particular attention." Mrs. Birch looked at him with raised eyebrows until Samuel made a show of sitting up straight and folding his hands on his desk. When he saw Polo whisper something into Carla's ear, making her laugh, his fingers tightened.

Mrs. Birch reprimanded Carla, too, who apologized with a sweet smile, then added that she could tell the story of the Sanderson sisters herself at this point. The teacher encouraged her to go ahead and Carla turned around, looking directly at Samuel for a second before letting her glance wander across the classroom.

"The witches didn't just kill livestock, ruin harvests and set people's houses on fire." She paused for effect. "They also stole children, sucked the life force out of them and ate them!"

Samuel snorted. Sure they did.

"What, you don't believe that, West Coast?" Polo asked him with a smirk.

"Not everyone is as gullible as you, you-" Mrs. Birch interrupted before Samuel could come up with a list of names to call that preppy jerk.

"Well, the eating part is still up for debate," she said as seriously as if they were discussing a new theory published in Scientific American. "But Carla is right, they killed many, many children before they were finally caught and hanged at dawn on All Hallows' Eve, 1693. But right before they died, the eldest, Lucrecia, placed a curse on the entire town. If a virgin ever lights the sisters' black-flamed candle on Halloween night, they will return to Salem and kill all the children in it!"

None of his classmates laughed. Samuel looked around to be sure and yeah, not a grin to be seen. How was this real?

"You have got to be kidding me," he said, perhaps a little too loud. "How are you believing this? You do know what all these women we call witches today really were, right? Lucrecia and her sisters probably minded their own business and dabbled in herbology a bit until their Puritan neighbors decided that unmarried women were suspect and hanged them."

"How very feminist of you, Mr. Garcia." Now the entire class laughed. Samuel rolled his eyes. "But you are sorely mistaken. If there was any doubt about how wicked and powerful the Sanderson sisters were, you'd only have to look at the fate of Lucrecia's lover. Who can tell me what she did to poor Guzman Nunier?"

All hands except for Samuel's rose and Mrs. Birch picked Carla to finish her story.

"One night, she caught him cheating on her with her youngest sister, Cayetana." Samuel was pretty sure he wasn't imagining the sparkle in Carla's eye or the glee in her voice as she went on. "Lucrecia poisoned him and hexed his mouth shut so he would never be able to lie again, not even in the afterlife."

I think Cayetana did not pick up the trophy for Polo. I mean for Polo too but mostly for herself because she likes him and he was the only one still talking to her at Las Encinas and once he goes to prison she ends up alone
