i spent the past couple weeks poking at the Caveblazers savefile. I still don't understand its structure well enough to insert new entries and change the size safely, but I've gotten enough of a handle on it to change the currently selected perk on a fresh file.

if you've wanted to start a new file locked into a specific perk (you can only switch off to Adventurer and not back), this tool will create a save file that does it for you.

maybe later I'll make it lock/unlock random items and blessings, but I would need a better handle on how it adds and adjusts for new entries.

I'm just happy I got something that seems to work! I'm not happy it took a week of depression to make me want to dig through hex code instead of play anything

Nawiasem mówiąc ta gra ma chyba najlepszą relacje do tłumaczenia fanowskiego z gier przy których siedziałem. Legitnie dają plik z tekstem w grze i jak sobie przetłumaczysz to robią update gry i dają je oficjalnie.

Zaraz po tym bylo by Dead Cells, gdzie tez daja tekst i mozesz sobie pisać tylko wrzucasz to jako mod (a potem i tak dodają se jakieś tlumaczenie TAK DALEJ JESTEM O TO ZŁY)

Są tez gry co maja wyjebane w tłumaczenia jak Fear and Hunger czy Caveblazers, gdzie może jak pogrzebiesz w plikach gry to uda się cos ogarnąć ale do tego trzeba dołączać konkretne tutorale jak to pobrać bo to dosłownie zamienianie plików lokalnych.

To cale tłumaczenie Everhood o którym kiedyś tam wspomniałem (którego ja sam napisałem jakieś 30%(najwięcej ze wszystkich co przy tym pisali z całkiem sporym marginesem)) ma wychodzic w grze za jakies 2-3 tygodnie.

I can't believe I sat on Caveblazers in my library. Once I played it more I was like, oh this is what I wanted Spelunky to be. It's so fun. Got the roguelite element so you feel progress and it's like Spelunky except less hard and more fun. You know, I have heard mountains and mountains about Elden Ring, watch people play it, and had so many people tell me how amazing it is and how I need to play it but the more I hear about it and see it the more I realize I ain't ever going to play this game. I won't like it. I'm an old man that just wants to play my 2-D sprite art roguelikes.

And you know what first game I'm going to buy when I get my SteamDeck is? Rogue Legacy 2. Out of all the games on steam, that's the one I'm itching to play.

I've been playing a lot of Caveblazers over the past few days and I'm already getting better and better!

Today I had my best run yet! I got to the third boss and that was where I died.

I actually want to 100% the game, to be honest.

Anyway, please look at this enemy. hes just chilling.

Like..... alone. on his own.

My Favourite Game 🎮

I play Caveblazers a lot, so much that I was inspired to do an art.

The 'Nimrod' perk gives the player a special weapon called the snare bow, a ranged weapon which sets up to 5 traps giving enemies who cross it a nasty surprise.
