Understanding Sudden Cardiac Arrest: Key Facts and Preventive Measures
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a critical medical emergency where the heart stops beating suddenly, disrupting blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. It differs from a heart attack, which is caused by blocked arteries; cardiac arrest results from an electrical malfunction in the heart. Recognising the symptoms, such as sudden collapse, no pulse, and no breathing, is vital for immediate intervention. Early recognition and prompt action with CPR or defibrillation significantly improve survival rates.
Tumblr media
Causes and Risk Factors
SCA is primarily caused by underlying heart problems like coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, or previous heart attacks. Lifestyle factors such as smoking, obesity, diabetes, and high blood pressure also increase the risk. Understanding these causes and risk factors is essential in preventing sudden cardiac arrest. Regular heart check-ups, such as those offered at Dr. Vaidya’s Laboratory, the best pathology lab in Thane and Mumbai, can help monitor these risks.
Prevention and Early Diagnosis
Preventing sudden cardiac arrest involves managing risk factors and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Regular health check-ups, like the comprehensive heart check-up package in Thane offered by Dr. Vaidya's Laboratory, can detect early signs of heart problems. Tests such as the Lipid Profile, hs-CRP, and HbA1c are crucial for assessing heart health and preventing SCA. Additionally, Dr. Vaidya’s Laboratory offers convenient home blood collection services, ensuring timely and accurate diagnosis without the need to visit a lab.
First Aid and Treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Immediate response to SCA is critical. Administering CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can help restore heart function. Understanding the first aid steps for SCA, including chest compressions and defibrillation, can significantly improve survival rates. After stabilizing the patient, further medical intervention, including medications and implantable devices like pacemakers, may be required to prevent recurrence.
Importance of Regular Heart Health Check-Ups
Regular heart check-ups are crucial for detecting potential heart problems early. Dr. Vaidya’s Laboratory offers specialized packages to assess heart health, including tests for cholesterol, blood sugar, and kidney function. These tests help in early diagnosis and management of heart conditions that could lead to cardiac arrest. By choosing the best pathology lab in Mumbai and Thane, individuals can take proactive steps to maintain heart health.
Conclusion
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate attention. Recognizing the symptoms, understanding the causes, and knowing the preventive measures are vital for everyone, especially those with risk factors. Regular health check-ups, such as those offered by Dr. Vaidya’s Laboratory, are essential in preventing SCA and ensuring a healthy heart.

i know i just said that i was on a break, but casino!141 was giving me an itch, so here we are. phone writing, bear with me.
cw: nsfw. slightest dub-con at first? poly!141 is arising. cockwarming. simon talks you through it. f!reader. 3 | more casino!141
Tumblr media
your footsteps echoes in the hallway, soundwaves ricocheting on the walls of the far too quiet casino. it's strange being there during the day, accompanied only by the more avid gamblers who need their fix, even when most lights are off.
"come in." John's voice travels from inside the office after your brisk knock and you open the door, quickly stepping in the room and opening your mouth to speak, but your jaw closes shut when you realize you're not alone with him.
he's sitting behind a desk overflowing with papers, cigar long forgotten on the ashtray, but your attention is diverted to the masked individual standing beside it, hazel eyes boring into your skull with an unerving stare. "hello, Ace."
his voice can't be described as tranquilizing, but the tone is a stark contrast from the glare. it's almost tender, alluring, and for a split second you forget what you were going to say. "uhm, Kyle said you wanted to see me?" your head turns back to John, offering him a timid smile.
"yes, that's correct." he leans back on the chair, rolling his tense shoulders and tilting his head in your direction, "Simon and i are working through some documents, you know, bookkeeping, management, the boring stuff behind the slot machines," you nod, attentively listening but not truly following, "and i'm needing some of your assistance."
"i'm sorry? assistance?" your brows knit together, confused by his words. he chuckles, index finger raised in the air motioning for you to come closer, and you swear you hear Simon snorting at the interaction.
you walk to the table and stand on his side, eyes darting between the pile of files and the malicious glint in his blue irises. his hand meets your waist and your sight drops from his face, down to his torso, down to his... bulge. "you see, Ace, you're always so good in helping me concentrate during the games, we might as well try something new, yeah?"
his fingers graze your hips, tracing down your sides and reaching behind your thighs, causing a shiver on your spine. "John, i–" a soft 'shh' comes out of his lips, and he starts unbuckling his belt, raising himself just enough so that his trousers can come to his knees.
heat spreads up your chest, your neck, your cheeks, and your vision swerves to the ceiling, mind racing with embarrassment and bewilderment. from the corner of your eye you peek into Simon's direction, and to your surprise, he's completely unfazed.
Price drags you closer, hiking up your shirt just enough to expose your belly, pressing long kisses on the flesh while his hands knead your ass. you shouldn’t give in so easy, you have a better judgement than that, but his touch is so enticing, soft, easily mistaken by loving, that you find it hard to define what's right and wrong – or to define if you really want this.
when he pops open the button of your pants, you know you're done for. even if your brain settled for a 'no', he wouldn't care, considering the amount of pre-cum leaking from his throbbing cock. the damp spot between your legs wouldn't care either.
he pulls your bottoms down slowly, trailing pecks from your navel to your mound. you're nervous, dangerously close to a cardiac arrest when he flips you around hastily, slap on your ass cheek making your body jolt forward.
a firm hand guide your hips to his crotch, while the other positions his cock on your entrance, teasingly stroking the folds to gather your slick. "deep breath for me." he's gentle, pressing kisses on your back while you sink into his length, the pain of the sudden stretch being easily overpowered by the wave of pleasure washing over you. "that's it, love." he groans, squeezing your waist when you finally hit the base, "now just sit pretty while i work, hm?"
you nod, pathetically so, biting your bottom lip to swallow back your moans. you imagined it would be big, and maybe you just needed to be prepared, but fuck, you were filled. John started ruffling through the papers again, meticulously skimming the words like his tip wasn't brushing your cervix whenever you dared to adjust yourself.
"you have to stop squirming, Ace."
your head snaps up to the side the sound came from, and you face Simon's piercing glare. he still holds one of the documents, but his focus is solely on you, an underlying primal desire hidden behind his gaze that makes your stomach flutter.
he chuckles, leaning in front of you, arms almost close enough to cage you over the table. "does it feel that good? having Price's cock stuffing your sweet cunt?" he patronizes, tapping your cheek to get your attention back on his eyes, "i bet it does."
if you had the energy, you'd curse him out, but you're lost in how good you're feeling, even with minimal friction. you look up to him, pitifully doe-eyed as a moan escapes your lips, "go on, pretty girl, feel it. it's pulsing, isn't it? each vein hitting the perfect spots." you grip the edge of the desk, knuckles turning white from the strength, desperately trying to ignore the smallest twitches of his shaft inside of you, "you want him to move, right?"
you hum, writhing on his lap to convince John into forgeting whatever business he has to do at the moment and just fuck you already. "you'll have to wait, Ace." you whine, looking over your shoulder to catch a glimpse of him. his gaze doesn't shift, but you note the slight blush creeping up his collar and you smirk, content that he seems to be suffering too, even if it's barely.
"if you're lucky, he might reward you later. throw all of that shite on the floor and bend you over the table." your walls immediately clench at the idea, coaxing a grunt out of Price. "and you are a lucky girl, aren't you?" a breathy 'yes' comes out of your mouth, and Simon's thumb brushes your lower lip, smearing the tiny drop of spit on the corner over your pout.
your thighs tremble, clit aching and begging for some stimuli, toes curling at the mere thought of being fully claimed by John. "be patient." he deigns, and you don't miss the smirk marking the black fabric of his covering. bastard. his hungry expression only makes you wetter, needier, disoriented by lust, and you absentmindedly nod, taking a deep breath to calm your nerves and wait. painfully wait.
but the action ultimately falters the second Simon's low whisper reach your ears, striking you like electricity, "good girl."

Thank you to everyone who came to trick-or-treat!
Treats will be released publicly tomorrow, November 1st.
A little more on the Loveless family below the cut (tw: child death)
Bad luck can hang like a heavy cloud over a place, for reasons unknown, causing trouble of all sorts - from mishaps to tragedies. This was the case with the Loveless home, built in 1908 and moved into the very same year by the young family. The stern and unyielding Ernest Loveless, and his troubled wife Sybilla, along with their children: bookish Verna, fanciful Leona, energetic Boyd, and little Wendell.
Did something already haunt the halls of the new house? Something inhuman, which delighted in the misery of the human residents? Ernest went first, a sudden cardiac arrest as he smoked his pipe in the parlour. His cruelty in life made him less than fondly remembered by his children in death, but Sybilla was distraught. And in her mourning, she began to forget her duties, and the children were left to care for themselves and each other.
Little Wendell was the first young life lost - drowned, in the pond, when Verna left him for a moment to fetch a book from the library. In her despair, the eldest girl buried herself deeper in her fantasy worlds, the stacks of books growing higher around her in the library until one day her piles became structurally unstable and fell on her, trapping her and leading to her death.
Leona was next. One minute, on her swing - the next, she was gone, and only a spattering of blood on the swing to suggest what may have happened. A madman, on the lose in their town?
Sybilla was broken by the loss of her children, and forbid Boyd from setting foot outside the house. She locked the doors, closed the heavy curtains, and hid her remaining child from the outside world. But Boyd was a wild young boy, and when cooped up, he couldn't help himself - he slid down banisters, climbed on furniture, and eventually took a tumble from the top of the stairs - another young life lost.
Sybilla, left alone in the expansive house, began to feel as though death pressed in on her from all sides. She felt ill, her heart fluttered, her skin seemed to yellow and age before her eyes. She had lost her husband, her children, and now even her beauty was deserting her. Worse even than this - she began to hear the voices of her departed family, and see glimpses of them in the shadows. In time, her fear turned to comfort - if they were still here, in spirit, she could pretend they had never died. And she wouldn't be alone. As she turned her mind more and more towards the ghostly remnants of her family, her health continued to decline, until one day she awoke to find her family more real to her than they had been in months - and her own body slumped over her vanity. Dead. But she was glad. Embracing her family, she swore that they would never leave the estate, and always be together within it's grounds.
So, to the young explorer who set out to explore the Loveless house, there's the answer - HAUNTED, very haunted. Extra specially haunted!

Mal rambles about Saw traps while they watch the movies
The text for those who want to read it:
The laser collar was interesting, but it was a trap that wasn’t satisfying as it was too quick and didn’t fit with all the other traps in the franchise. I like the angel trap for its brutality and how it was rigged to be unbeatable, but it felt like a double edged sword as it doesn’t follow the same rules as most traps did with giving the target a chance to get out. I get that was the theme of Amanda’s traps, but it wasn’t as satisfying as any of the others. I’d have to say the reverse bear trap, the Venus fly trap, and the pit of needles are my all time favorites. The bear trap is a classic, it was simple, but also a brutal display that relies on the target gutting someone to escape and if they would do that to live. Additionally the huge amount of pressure from the trap opening would be enough to cause fatal damage, and the pain and shock could easily cause a sudden cardiac arrest. The Venus Fly trap is just like the iron maiden version of the bear trap, but with the way to escape requiring you to gouge out and dig into your eye. It’s an ingenious idea. Do you know how it feels like to even take out your own eye without anesthesia? The pit of needles itself isn’t one that is as gory or as complex as the others, but it’s still one of the more disturbing ones. I mean, used needles? Even accounting if the target has doesn’t have a fear of needles it’s still skin crawling to see needles sticking into the skin and nauseating to think that it’s used needles of all things.

come over?
i can’t today, have to babysit angie and get groceries :,)
so?
you blink down at your phone, pausing while buckling angelina into her car seat as your eyebrows pinch together at your boyfriend’s message.
???
i’ll go with you.
you huff out a laugh, and angelina responds with a confused giggle of her own, her small hands bouncing against the sides of her seat in anticipation. you finish buckling her into her tiny constraints, to which she pouts at you, kicking her chubby legs in protest with a whine. you merely poke her nose, whispering a “shush” and clambering into the driver’s seat.
okay, i’m leaving right now though
ok, pick me up on the way then
i’ll be there soon
:)
it’s only a few songs into your jam sesh with angelina before you make it to gene’s apartment. you decided to take her up to the door with you, knowing how excited she got to see your friends. before you could knock, gene opened the door for you, dark blue eyes crinkling as he smiled at the pair of you.
“hey.” he leans forward to greet you with a short-lived kiss.
“gaaa!” angelina calls out, leaning forward from your hold with outstretched arms as she eagerly babbles for gene to hold her.
it doesn’t take much convincing on her part, as he snatches her from you instantly, giving her a short toss in the air and planting a kiss on the small girl’s cheek.
“hello there, angel.” he whispers, voice uncharacteristically high as he hugs angelia to his chest.
“eeewwww, stinky baby!” zenix’s voice calls from deeper in the apartment.
soon both sasha and zenix appear by gene’s side, curiously peaking around him to gaze at the one year old like she was a spectacle.
“tell him he’s the stinky one, angie,” gene says, using his hand to raise her fist up in a threatening—as a baby could be—manner. “say you’re stinky!”
“didi!”
“ooohhhhoho, you just got burned by a baby, loser.” sasha laughs.
“not cool, angelina.” zenix pouts, poking her stomach and wiggling his fingers, causing her to break out into giggles.
as all of your amused laughter dies down, gene steps out of the apartment with you,  angelina still snug in his arms.
“see you guys later.” you say, turning and grabbing her tiny hands to help her wave goodbye at the duo still in the doorway.
“say bye bye, angie!” gene encourages her.
“look at them, they look like a cute family already.”
“sickening.” zenix jokingly scoffs.
“gene, who knew you’d be such a girl dad.” sasha says, her expression slightly perturbed by his sudden shift in character.
“are you kidding? if he had a son that ended up like him he’d go into cardiac arrest by thirty.” zenix leans forward with a teasing smirk on his face. “he wouldn’t know what to do.”
gene sighs and rolls his eyes at his friends’ conversation, knowing they were definitely right.
“whatever,  byeee.” he sarcastically drawls out, beginning to walk away.
“bababa!” angelina waves her stubby hand over gene’s shoulder as you follow along beside them.
“bye mom and dad! bye little baby!” they call out behind you.
“since you’re holding her you get to try and put angie in her car seat.”
after gene gets her in her car seat with ease–much to your chagrin–the three of you are soon in the grocery store with angelina kicking joyfully in the basket seat. as you’re busy looking down at your list, gene races off down the empty aisle, giggling along with angie’s contagious laughter.
“gene!” you attempt to scold him, racing after him as he steers off out of sight. as you turn the corner you nearly run over an elderly woman holding a small basket of baking goods.
“oh, i’m so sorry, excuse me!” you frantically apologize, backing up to make sure she was okay.
you’re surprised to see a joyful expression on her face as she waves her worn hands in dismissal.
“oh, you’re alright dear. my husband used to do the same thing with our baby when we were younger,” she beams.
you don’t have the heart to tell her that you are, in fact, not married to gene nor is that your child as she reaches out to pat your arm.
“it’s nice to see young couples who aren’t so serious all the time. enjoy these moments while they last.”
“oh, um, of course.” your eyes dart down to the end of the store, where gene has now disappeared in another aisle with an ecstatic angelina in tow.
looking back, the granny is already shuffling away, waving you to go on. “go on and make sure they don’t get up to too much mischief, now.”
“thank you, have a nice rest of your day!” you wave back. her face wrinkles joyfully as she disappears down another aisle, prompting you to take off after the runaway pair.
you turn into the toy aisle, panting as you finally catch up. gene is gently shaking an adorable duck plushie in front of angie, who is pointing and grabbing at it insistently.
“you like this one? yeah i was thinking the same thing. good choice, angel.”
“gene.”
after handing the toy to angelina, he turns to look at you with puppy eyes and the face of a scolded child.
“yes ma’am?”
you lift your arms in exasperation, eyebrows raised to say, “what the hell, man?” without actually saying it.
“look!” he points insistently to your younger sister, who is donning a gummy toothed smile as her small fingers grip onto the small duck. she innocently lifts it up to showcase it to you, it’s beaded eyes somehow as pleading as the looks gene and angelina were throwing your way.
rolling your eyes, you give in, turning with your list in hand. “fine, but that’s it. we’re here for groceries.”
by the end of your perusal through the different aisles, gene managed to convince you that him and angelina absolutely needed ice cream, fruit snacks, and lollipops as a sweet treat. after the fourth item, you sent him a stern glare that he groaned at.
“your sister is so mean to me, angie.” he teasingly pouts, leaning in to you with a fake sob.
angelina stares at the both of you in confusion, before turning her attention back to the toy gene had snagged for her.
“wow.” he deadpans, sighing as he take his weight off of you to help place the groceries on the cashier’s conveyor belt.
the bored looking teen smiles at angelina, her face lightening up a bit.
“your baby is so adorable.” she gushes, reaching over to scan the teddy bear without taking it from her.
“thanks, but she’s not-“
“i know right, she looks just like her mom doesn’t she?” gene wraps an arm around your waist, slouching over to lean his head onto your shoulder.
blood rises to your cheeks as you flusteredly go quiet, unable to come up with any words. you can’t see his face, but you’re sure he’s got a shit eating grin plastered all over it. the cashier nods, completely buying his lie.
“yeah! it’s funny, people usually the first born looks like their dad…” she shrugs, finishing up her check out with a content smile.
“have a nice day!”
the three of you leave the store, with gene snickering behind you. you shoot a side eye at him, but your resolve quickly crumbles once again.
“what?” he nonchalantly asks, shrugging his shoulders in faux innocence.
all you can do is merely sigh, the red in your cheeks still prominently visible.
“we got her, angie! look at her cute face.” he grins, reaching over to pinch your cheeks, planting a kiss to your forehead.
angelina cheers, lifting her new teddy bear in celebration. you finally break out in laughter, conceding to your loss as gene triumphantly smiles in victory.

Sup, my brain is empty for all except ideas, so I'm now (affectionately) taking it out on your ask box. Let me know if you want/need me to stop!
That being said: Wukong x reader who is very prone to fainting spells, but he didn't realise that's what they were for the first few months cause he just say unconscious and thought "oh nap time, lemme get some cuddles!"
hi!
Wukong x syncope!reader who is prone to fainting
syncope : Sudden loss of consciousness, sometimes caused by cardiac arrest.
The Great Sage is all for cuddling and impromptu naps so at first he just assumes that you’re very tired and decided to nap. It’s somewhat obvious others like MK or Mei but Wukong doesn’t really keep up on medical information or abnormal health habits.
Still every time you faint around him you’ll be picked up and cuddled with him on his somersault cloud or the closest soft surface. You’ll probably wake up firmly cozy in his arms with his tail wrapped around some part of your body and unintentionally making it very hard to get out. Doesn’t matter if you are trying to not wake him up or just trying to get out of the cuddle pile because he’s strong to a ridiculous amount.
When you do inform him that you aren’t choosing to sleep whenever and wherever you want he’ll feel a bit bad at first since he should’ve recognized it but when you assure him it’s alright since no one was hurt he feels better about it. Now that he knows you are prone to fainting spells he’s more attentive and and looks for signs that you’re feeling dizzy or like you’re about to pass out.
He liked to be near you anyways and now he has even more of a reason to do so. Does his best to ignore the teasing remarks from Macaque and not start a fight whenever the shadow demon happens to catch you before he can. Regardless of how far into the relationship you are with him as soon as he’s got you back in his arms he’s going to be very possessive.

A Writer's Blueprint for Realistic Drowning Scenes
Tumblr media
This guide is designed to help writers depict drowning scenes with authenticity and detail. I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of drowning, the physical signs to look for and clear up some common misconceptions. With this information, you’ll have the tools to craft vivid, compelling, and believable drowning scenarios that will captivate your readers and add depth to your narrative.
Fair warning; this is a comprehensive and pretty explicit guide, so if you're uncomfortable with those topics, please just scroll away.
The Stages of Drowning
1. Initial Entry
When a person first enters the water, especially unexpectedly, their initial reaction is often one of shock and panic. The sudden change in environment, temperature, and the feeling of being submerged triggers an immediate response from the body.
Shock Response
Cold Water Immersion: Sudden immersion in cold water can cause a cold shock response, which includes involuntary gasping, hyperventilation, and a rapid increase in heart rate and blood pressure.
Panic and Disorientation: The person may become disoriented and panic, struggling to stay afloat and breathe normally.
2. Involuntary Breath-Holding
As the person struggles to keep their head above water, they instinctively hold their breath to prevent water from entering their lungs.
Burning Sensation in Lungs
The buildup of carbon dioxide in the blood creates a burning sensation in the lungs, which intensifies the feeling of panic.
Increased Heart Rate and Blood Pressure
The body's stress response causes an increase in heart rate and blood pressure, further depleting oxygen reserves.
3. Uncontrolled Breathing
When the person can no longer hold their breath, the body's reflexes take over, leading to involuntary attempts to breathe.
Aspiration of Water
Water enters the mouth and is aspirated into the lungs, causing coughing, choking, and a strong gag reflex.
Coughing and Choking
The person may cough and choke as water enters the respiratory tract, leading to more panic and struggle.
Gasping for Air
The body's desperate attempt to get oxygen leads to gasping, but often results in inhaling more water.
4. Laryngospasm
The body's protective reflex to prevent water from entering the lungs can cause the vocal cords to spasm, temporarily sealing the airway.
Temporary Airway Closure
The laryngospasm closes the airway, preventing both water and air from entering the lungs.
Increased CO2 and Decreased O2
As carbon dioxide levels rise and oxygen levels fall, the person becomes increasingly hypoxic.
5. Loss of Consciousness
Due to the lack of oxygen, the person loses consciousness.
Hypoxia and Hypercapnia
Hypoxia (lack of oxygen) and hypercapnia (excess carbon dioxide) cause confusion, dizziness, and loss of motor control.
Fading Senses
Vision blurs, hearing diminishes, and the sense of touch becomes numb.
Blackout
The brain, deprived of oxygen, shuts down, leading to unconsciousness.
6. Cardiac Arrest
Prolonged oxygen deprivation leads to cardiac arrest, where the heart stops beating.
Cessation of Breathing
Respiratory effort ceases as the brain's control over breathing is lost.
Heart Stops Beating
The heart, deprived of oxygen, stops beating, leading to complete circulatory failure.
Brain Damage and Death
Without intervention, brain cells die from lack of oxygen, leading to permanent brain damage and eventually death.
7. Aftermath (if Rescued)
If the person is rescued and resuscitated, there are immediate and long-term consequences to consider.
Immediate Aftermath
CPR and First Aid: Immediate resuscitation efforts, including CPR and the use of a defibrillator if necessary.
Hospitalization: The person will likely need to be hospitalized for further treatment and monitoring.
Long-Term Effects
Lung Damage: Inhalation of water can cause damage to the lung tissues, leading to conditions like pneumonia or acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
Neurological Damage: Prolonged lack of oxygen can result in brain damage, affecting cognitive and motor functions.
Psychological Impact: Survivors may experience PTSD, anxiety, and a lasting fear of water.
Physical Appearance During Drowning
1. Initial Entry
Shock Response
Wide Eyes and Gasping Mouth: Eyes are wide open, and the mouth is often open in a gasp or scream.
Flailing Limbs: Arms and legs are moving rapidly in an attempt to regain balance and stay afloat.
2. Involuntary Breath-Holding
Tensed Muscles
Rigid Body: Muscles are tensed, and the body may appear stiff as the person tries to maintain control.
Strained Facial Expression: The face may show strain, with furrowed brows and tightly closed eyes.
3. Uncontrolled Breathing
Coughing and Choking
Reddened Face and Eyes: The face may turn red from the effort of coughing and choking.
Foaming at the Mouth: A frothy mixture of saliva and water may be visible around the mouth.
Gasping for Air
Open Mouth and Wide Eyes: The mouth is open wide in an attempt to gasp for air, and the eyes may be bulging with fear.
Erratic Movements: The person’s movements become more erratic and uncoordinated as they struggle to breathe.
4. Laryngospasm
Silent Struggle
Mouth Opening and Closing: The person may appear to be gasping silently as the airway is temporarily sealed.
Clenching Throat: Hands may instinctively clutch at the throat in a futile attempt to open the airway.
5. Loss of Consciousness
Limp Body
Floating Limply: The body becomes limp and may float face down or sink slightly below the surface.
Pale or Blue Skin: Skin may turn pale or blue (cyanosis) due to lack of oxygen.
Relaxed Facial Features
Closed Eyes: Eyes close as the person loses consciousness.
Slack Jaw: The jaw may go slack, and the mouth could be partially open.
6. Cardiac Arrest
Unconsciousness
Still Body: The body is completely still, with no voluntary movements.
Gray or Blue Skin: Skin color becomes ashen, gray, or blue, particularly around the lips and extremities.
7. After Drowning (Post-Rescue Appearance)
If the person is rescued, their appearance post-drowning can indicate the extent of their ordeal and the immediate aftermath.
Immediate Aftermath
Waterlogged Clothing: Clothes may be heavy and waterlogged, clinging to the body.
Coughing and Vomiting: The person may cough up water or vomit as they are resuscitated.
Shivering: If the water was cold, the person might be shivering uncontrollably due to hypothermia.
Long-Term Appearance
Bruising and Cuts: There may be bruises or cuts from the struggle in the water or the rescue process.
Pale or Blue Skin: Skin color might still show signs of cyanosis if oxygen levels are low.
Labored Breathing: Breathing may remain labored and shallow as the lungs recover.
Ways to Drown
Being Tied Down with a Stone
An ancient method where a person is weighted down with a heavy object, preventing them from surfacing.
Pulled Under by a Strong Current
Strong currents or rip tides can overpower a swimmer, pulling them away from safety and making it difficult to stay afloat.
Trapped Under a Capsized Boat
In the event of a boat capsizing, a person can become trapped underneath, unable to reach the surface for air.
Caught in Underwater Vegetation
Dense underwater plants can entangle a swimmer, restricting their movements and preventing them from surfacing.
Unable to Swim in Deep Water
Lack of swimming skills or fatigue in deep water can lead to drowning if the person cannot keep themselves afloat.
Falling Through Ice
Falling through thin ice can trap a person in freezing water, with the ice making it difficult to find an exit.
Getting Caught in a Riptide
A riptide can drag a swimmer out to sea, making it hard to swim back to shore due to the strong current.
Swimming Exhaustion
Overexertion while swimming can lead to exhaustion, making it impossible to continue treading water or swimming to safety.
Diving Accident
A diving mishap, such as hitting one’s head or getting disoriented underwater, can result in drowning.
Shipwreck
In a shipwreck scenario, a person may be stranded in open water, facing potential drowning due to exhaustion, exposure, or lack of flotation devices.
Common Misconceptions About Drowning
1. Drowning is Always Loud and Dramatic
Many people believe that drowning involves a lot of splashing, shouting, and waving for help. In reality, drowning is often a silent and quick event.
Instinctive Drowning Response: When a person is drowning, their body prioritizes breathing over waving or shouting. The struggle to get air means they can’t call for help.
Quiet Struggle: Drowning individuals might be bobbing up and down, with their mouths at water level, making little noise as they gasp for air.
2. People Always Recognize Drowning
It's a common belief that drowning is easily recognizable. However, many drownings go unnoticed until it’s too late.
Subtle Signs: Drowning can look like someone treading water or trying to swim. Signs can be subtle, such as bobbing up and down, head tilted back with mouth open, or eyes glassy and empty.
Misinterpreted Behaviors: Bystanders might mistake a drowning person for someone playing or simply floating.
3. Only Weak Swimmers Drown
Many assume that only those who can’t swim well are at risk of drowning, but even strong swimmers can drown under certain conditions.
Fatigue and Cramps: Strong swimmers can become exhausted, suffer from cramps, or panic, leading to drowning.
Environmental Factors: Strong currents, cold water, and underwater hazards can overwhelm even the best swimmers.
4. Drowning Happens Immediately
There’s a misconception that drowning happens instantly. While it can be quick, it often takes a few minutes for a person to drown.
Struggling Phase: The initial struggle can last for 20-60 seconds, during which the person is trying to stay afloat and breathe.
Silent Submersion: After this, they may silently submerge, often unnoticed.
5. Drowning Only Happens in Deep Water
Many people think that drowning only occurs in deep water. However, shallow water can be just as dangerous.
Shallow Water Drowning: Drowning can occur in as little as a few inches of water, especially with young children or if someone is unconscious.
Bathtubs and Pools: Many drownings occur in bathtubs, kiddie pools, or even buckets.
6. Life Jackets Are Only Needed on Boats
It's commonly believed that life jackets are only necessary when boating, but they are crucial in many other water-related activities.
Swimming and Water Sports: Life jackets provide essential buoyancy and can save lives in swimming pools, lakes, rivers, and during water sports.
Unexpected Situations: Wearing a life jacket can prevent drowning in unexpected situations, like sudden falls into water.
7. People Float After Drowning
A prevalent myth is that drowning victims float on the surface after they die, but this is not always the case.
Initial Sinking: Initially, a drowned body may sink due to the density of the tissues and lack of air in the lungs.
Later Floating: Bodies often float later due to gas buildup from decomposition, but this can take days.
8. Drowning Victims Always Look Distressed
People often think that drowning victims will look distressed or visibly in danger, but many can appear calm and quiet.
Passive Drowning: Drowning individuals may appear to be calmly treading water or just floating.
Lack of Visible Struggle: There may be no visible struggle, making it hard to identify the danger.
9. CPR is Ineffective After Drowning
Some believe that once a person has drowned, CPR cannot help. However, immediate CPR can be life-saving.
Restarting Breathing: CPR can help restart the victim’s breathing and circulation, buying crucial time until emergency services arrive.
Rescue Breathing: Effective rescue breathing can oxygenate the lungs and increase the chances of revival.

The Celebrity Next Door: Chapter 1 - Welcome to the Neighborhood
Tumblr media
Pairings: Jensen Ackles x Reader (Written in first person, but with Y/N)
Series Summary: Y/N's life takes an unexpected turn when she moves next door to Jensen Ackles, a famous actor navigating life post-divorce. Their initial awkward encounter over a broken window leads to a budding friendship, navigating the challenges of celebrity life and forging meaningful connections in their neighborhood.
Chapter Summary: Y/N, a New Yorker adjusting to life in Los Angeles, finds herself entangled with her neighbor Jensen Ackles and his daughter Katie after a baseball mishap leads to unexpected connections and new beginnings in their shared neighborhood.
A/N: Okay, so it may be weird but I'm writing this in first person POV, but the name will be changed to Y/N. Might be annoying, but it's easier for the story. Thank you!
Series Masterlist here!! & Main masterlist here!
Tumblr media
The sun beamed through the bay window of my living room, filling the air with the chirping of birds and scurrying of squirrels. It was a surprisingly joyful sound that welcomed me on my first real day in Los Angeles—a city I had dreaded joining.
Maybe my initial judgments were coloured by my New York roots; after all, I was unquestionably a city girl. I've always found comfort in the sounds of the city; cars honking, people scattered everywhere living their lives-that was the life I was used to. As much as I was excited about the new chapter of my life, there were qualities of LA that would take some getting used to, things that puzzled me.
Like why was it always so damn bright here? The sky, the buildings, the houses-all of it seemed to glow with an intensity that demanded sunglasses just to step outside. And why were the houses so enormous? It seemed ridiculous. I only need a bed, a bathroom and a kitchen yet here I was in what they called a condo, but felt more like a mansion with its space.
But despite my initial objection to LA’s charms, I couldn’t deny the peacefulness of the palm-tree-lined streets and the birdsong that greeted me each morning in a way New York never could.
I rolled onto my side, glanced at my phone, and sighed. 10:00 am already. There was still so much unpacking to do, and no one to help.
These first days were going to be busy. Pushing myself off the less-than-comfortable bed, I shuffled to the kitchen where the only thing I had set up so far was my Keurig machine. Leaning on the counter, I patiently awaited that first magical cup of morning coffee. Glancing outside, I squinted at the brilliant sunlight that threatened to overwhelm me. Seriously, why was it so damn bright here?
The coffee machine groaned, signaling it was ready. I turned to grab my mug when a sudden crash shattered the quiet. Instinctively, I dropped to the ground.
Peeking slowly over the counter, I discovered the cause—a baseball sitting right there on my kitchen floor, glass scattered everywhere around it.
I chuckled softly and shook my head. One thing I wouldn’t miss about New York: the reflex to duck for cover at every unexpected noise.
Moments later, the doorbell rang, nearly sending me into cardiac arrest. I approached guardedly, peeking through the side windows. A little girl stood on my porch, her expression guilt-ridden.
I opened the door, looked around for a parent nearby before crouching down to her eye level. “Hi there. Can I help you?”
Her small hands fidgeted with her zipper nervously. “I… I accidentally hit your window with my baseball. It’s inside your house.”
I smiled warmly. “It’s okay. What’s your name sweetie?”
Her eyes glanced up slightly, a light sniffle coming from her nose. “Katie."
“Well, Katie, I’m Y/N. Let’s go get your ball, alright? Are your parents around?”
She looked around and shook her head. “My daddy’s inside. Mommy’s not here.”
I nodded, retrieving the ball and returning to find Katie waiting patiently on the porch. I couldn’t help but giggle at her adorableness. Despite the broken window, I looked forward to having children around, filling the street with laughter and play.
Carefully navigating the scattered glass, I handed Katie her ball. She beamed up at me as I closed and locked the door behind us. “Where’s your house? I’ll take you back to your dad.”
Katie pointed to a massive white house next to mine, surrounded by a high fence and perfectly kept lawn which only peaked my curiosity.
Following Katie to her gate, I watched her disappear inside the house quickly, calling for her dad to come to the door. I waited patiently and suddenly anxiety filled my chest at the concept of meeting my new neighbour in this way.
It took a few minutes, but finally the little girl returned with a larger figure I could barely see from where I was standing. He approached the door and with every step he took towards the light, the more my breath got caught in my throat.
I knew him—or at least recognized him from somewhere. His piercing green eyes met mine, and suddenly it clicked: Jensen Ackles. I struggled to maintain composure, reminding myself he was just a person like me, despite my heart threatening to burst from my chest.
“Can I help you?” His voice was direct, cutting through my nerves.
I managed a polite smile, trying to gather my thoughts. “Hi... I just moved in next door. Your daughter accidentally threw a baseball into my kitchen window, and she came over to...”
“Katie!” His sharp voice interrupted, causing me to jump. He turned to his daughter, arms crossed. “What did I tell you about throwing the baseball around? This is the third time this month!”
Katie’s eyes dropped, on the verge of tears. I wanted to comfort her or maybe scold Jensen, but I knew nothing about parenting. Still, seeing him yell at her harshly made my anxiety rise.
The worst part of this whole situation though, was the way he was glaring into my soul, arms still crossed, a deep frown on his face. It felt like the very essence of my being was completely ruining his day.
He sighed, leaning against the doorway with a hint of apology in his eyes. “Is that all, or is there something else?”
I faltered, sensing his impatience. “Uh, no, that’s it, I guess.”
“Okay. Thanks, bye.” With that, the door closed, leaving me staring at the wooden texture of my first celebrity encounter.
As I walked back to my house, I couldn't stop the sadness that crept in. It was my first day, and it had already started roughly. I wondered if I would ever warm up to this place.
Tumblr media
An hour later, most of my boxes were unpacked, clothes neatly put away away, and a single family photo hung in the hallway that was taken at a family reunion over a year ago. Our family wasn't the photo taking type, and that's one thing I vowed to change, because as I stared at the empty wall with the lone photograph, I felt sad.
But when I looked around my spacious new home, I felt a sense of relief. The morning’s drama and anxiety had faded away.
I grabbed my coffee and stepped onto the front porch, sinking into the swing that came with the house. Examining the neighborhood, I noticed kids playing—biking, rollerblading, and drawing with chalk.
My gaze landed on Jensen’s front yard. Katie was there, playing with a little boy who looked just like him. Jensen was noticeably absent, which didn’t surprise me.
I headed out to collect my mail, when I heard a familiar voice calling my name. My heart warmed as Katie waved at me from her yard. Returning her wave with a smile, I realized maybe I wouldn’t hate this place after all.
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it! Chapter 2 coming soon stay tuned!

A heart attack in a seemingly fit male begins with a disruption of blood flow to the heart muscle. This occurs when a coronary artery becomes blocked, often due to a rupture in a plaque deposit. Despite their fitness, lifestyle factors (e.g., caffeine, stress, or undiagnosed heart conditions) or genetic predispositions can exacerbate this risk.
As the blockage forms, the heart muscle is deprived of oxygen. The muscle cells begin to die within minutes, releasing chemical signals that trigger chest pain, tightness, or discomfort. The heart struggles to pump effectively, causing a cascade of systemic effects:
Electrical Instability: The lack of oxygen can cause the heart’s electrical system to malfunction, leading to arrhythmias like ventricular fibrillation.
Cardiac Arrest: If the arrhythmia becomes severe, the heart may stop pumping entirely, leading to a sudden loss of consciousness.
Systemic Collapse: Blood stops circulating, cutting off oxygen to the brain and other vital organs. Death can occur within minutes without immediate intervention.

hi you don't have to do this if you're not comfortable with it but i saw requests are open. for context my mom passed away in the hospital last night, she was really sick her liver stopped working and my brother and sister made the decision to pull everything and let her die peacefully since we were told there was no way she could be saved at this point and the only alternative was to just wait for her to go into cardiac arrest, when she died i cried really loudly for a really long time, it happened so fast she was only hospitalized for two nights and ever since it happened i've been having thoughts of not continuing in a world without her since i lived with her 24/7 and we did everything together, and xiao and capitano are my comfort characters so i was wondering if i could maybe request a one-shot with one of them comforting the reader after the loss of a loved one? again if you're not comfortable writing about that particular topic you don't have to
Comfort among kindred spirits
content warning: grieving over a loss loved one, death, grief, sadness, angst with fluff, gender neutral reader (you pronoun). either be modern au or in teyvat au, anything in ( ) means that you chose between either of the two, its related to either modern world or teyvat,
character: Xiao / Alatus (featuring Ganyu, Zhongli, Venti)
author's note: I'm sorry this was later than I wanted, and I'm sorry for your loss. I know this might not replicate what you are truly feeling right now, but I hope it comforts you even just a bit. I'm also sorry I couldn't do a oneshot, but I hope the length of these headcanons would be enough.

🍃 it felt so sudden, it wasn't something you could have ever prepared before. they did not die of old age or of natural causes, but they were in so much pain that the only thing that could be done was give them the release of death, a decision that slowly ruined you.
🍃 you felt numb, like a piece of your heart had been taken leaving you incomplete. you often find yourself spacing out, tears escaping your eyes. Sometimes you were in your bed, unable to find the strength to get up, and often times you were just on the ground in front of the tombstone that had the name of your loved one.
🍃 you felt lose, not knowing how to carry on with your daily routines without them, with the knowledge that they wouldn't be their for you, physically at least.
🍃 your feelings began to grow worse as thoughts of leaving the world you inhabit began to fester, your eyes would stray towards the kitchen knife, or (maybe the passing vehicles or the restless mobs).
🍃 ". . ." you stared into sharp golden eyes, no wait, they weren't as sharp as usual, they didn't carry the edge the last yaksha usually had, his eyes were not glaring daggers at anyone. instead they were soft, soft like honey, warm and sweet.
🍃 Xiao looked at you, a husk of who you were once were. You hadn't been taking care of yourself. He knew it, you knew it, everyone knew it. Your hair was messy, you were skinnier than before, you smelled, it broke his heart to see you like this, neglecting yourself and letting yourself wither away.
🍃 He knew that no amount of words could soothe the pain in your heart, it was something that you had to go through alone and come to accept. He was speaking from experience after all.
🍃 Even if he wanted to, he could not take away the pain, all he could do was support you and help you gain closure.
🍃 If you were your usual self, you'd probably be surprised to find Xiao moving into your home. He occupied the homy couch in the living room, and from then your routine changed.
🍃 you used to spend your days in bed or in front of their gravestone. you didn't bother with cooking or cleaning as usual, you walked aimlessly here to there, and there to here.
🍃 but Xiao changed that, the day after he moved in, you find yourself waking up to the smell of some delicious food and a clean home. The wet tissues were in the bin, the fridge was cleared of any spoiled foods and replaced with new groceries, groceries he didn't charged you for.
🍃 you rubbed your stomach that grumbled pathetically,, you licked your lips as you sat down at his guidance. That was the first home cooked meal you had for a long while, and it brought you to tears.
🍃 Xiao planned to help you get back on your feet, but he couldn't do everything. So he asked his friends and family for help, it was Ganyu who helped with bathing you, it was also her who helped with doing the laundry of your delicates.
🍃 He had even asked Zhongli for advice, the man after all was a pool of infinite wisdom. Xiao couldn't be too forceful, he had to let you grieve while also stopping you from neglecting yourself.
🍃 It was Xiao who grabbed your hand first, making you take a walk outside. it was aimless, no particular destination in mind, but he made stops along the way. He stopped by Dawn's (Winery/Cafe), making you take a seat as he ordered for the both of you.
🍃 when [ favorite drink ] and [ favorite pastry ] was placed in front of you, you felt your heart slowly beat once more.
🍃 he'd bring you to the park, near the Grand Cathedral of Mondstadt where in Venti was playing by the statue, the melodies he crafted soothed your aching soul.
🍃 slowly but surely you began to live once again, and you had xiao and your friends to thank for it.
you stood in front of their gravestone once more, but your eyes looked lighter, and your eyebags were lost prominent now. Your body was clean, and your soul was content. Your heart ached yes, but not as terribly as before.
you were going to be fine.
you felt his hand squeeze yours as you let out a shaky breath, "thank you. ."
you didn't have to say anymore words, he understood.
in response, his thumb caressed your knuckles in silence as you both paid respects.

A group of leading cardiologists in New Zealand has revealed that Covid mRNA “vaccines” are spiked with a deadly “cardiotoxin” which has been identified as the sole cause of surging heart failure and sudden cardiac arrest deaths around the world.
The explosive revelation was announced during a cardiology meeting in Auckland, New Zealand.
The nation’s most respected heart specialists discovered that the spike protein generated by Covid mRNA injections is responsible for unprecedented spikes in heart failure, sudden deaths, and other deadly diseases.
As a result, New Zealand cardiologists are now recognizing Covid mRNA “vaccines” as a “cardiotoxin” – a substance that causes direct harm to the heart.
According to the cardiologists who made the admission, this toxic protein is the root cause of the alarming increase in heart-related illnesses and deaths.
Since the rollout of Covid mRNA shots in early 2021, heart failure has skyrocketed in both young and old patients.
Many healthcare professionals are now beginning to speak out about a growing public health crisis that the government and health authorities seem determined to ignore.
According to various reports emerging from within New Zealand’s hospitals, the evidence of vaccine-related heart damage is overwhelming.
Cardiologists around the world are highlighting that the rise in heart disease cases — especially in younger, previously healthy individuals — corresponds directly with the introduction of the mRNA “vaccines.”

Rumlow said Bucky and all of sudden I was a 16-year-old kid from Brooklyn
yes, Steve froze bc Rumlow said Bucky's name, but it's the 16 yro Steve that froze, not the 30ish Steve! which means 16yro Steve froze when Bucky was mentioned!
So imagine back when they were still in school, Steve overheard random classmates chatting in the hallway
Person A: Bucky won another boxing match. gosh, he's so cool!
Steve: *blushes for no reason*
Person B: we have math together. he's so smart, he even corrected the teacher today.
Steve: *heart pounding so hard he's gonna have a cardiac arrest*
(after school) Bucky: what's with the asthma attack today? what caused it?
Steve: nuthin'

30s F interested in women/femme. I’ve been around a while and haven’t done a post. Currently I just add a like to things and have a well curated collection in that section that will clue you in on my interests.
My writing is mostly short form, though I may try to go for some longer stories in the future. I find it is more intense to write shorter scenes because love resus, but it can get repetitive.
A Few ground rules:
I don’t have vids to trade. Don’t ask
I don’t do meet ups. Don’t ask
I don’t send pics of myself and I don’t want yours. Don’t ask
Minors? You know the answer… don’t ask or initiate!
I also will not play with anyone who want to play a minor or for me to play one… you will be blocked.
Are we a match? I’m not into torture or having sex with a person who is dead (though sex can be the cause of arrest) but you can be if you can rp something else. No ECT/torture: hard boundary there. I like more realistic scenes with desperate rescuers trying to bring a beautiful woman (preferably someone else but occasionally me) back from a drowning, accident, OD, or sudden cardiac arrest. Not into bloody scenes (but this isn’t hard and fast rule. You can write it, I’ll just focus on other parts). Sometimes the rescuers are successful and sometimes it’s time called and they are devestated (I like the emotional rescuers as a kink- in fact it’s my one of my must haves in my resus fetish- yelling for the patient to wake up and fighting endlessly to save them). Defibs- absolutely a must. Love compressions so much. Multiple options on breathing tools though it’s not my focus typically. I especially love mtm m, ambu bag, followed by intubation. Multiple locations with multiple rescuers are my fav, particularly progression from on scene to hospital.

Ok
I'm in the middle of writing a full fanfic
One of the characters I gave tetrology of fallot and I'm planning for him to have complications later on (I already know a lot about the heart defect)
One of these is heart attack
How would I write someone having a heart attack in their pov
Because I don't actually know how I'd go about it and how it feels
And would a heart attack cause complications with the preexisting condition
Okay so I don't know too much about whether it would cause complications with the condition, but I imagine it probably would, since the heart is not only beating irregularly but might not be very good anyway at providing the body with oxygenated blood.
As for writing a heart attack, here are some tips:
Whumpee suddenly having a tingling feeling in their left arm, or a pulsating kind of pain there. Perhaps they think at first that they've pulled a muscle, in their chest that's also affecting their arm, but the pain doesn't abate
Whumpee's chest feels like it's being squeezed in a vice. Getting even a single breath in is like torture, and breathing deeply only makes things worse, so Whumpee quickly switches to quick, shallow breaths that don't provide them with enough oxygen
Nausea is a common symptom of a heart attack too, so as the pain gets worse, whumpee feels physically sick. Of course, though, if they end up vomiting, this is only going to make the pain worse
The pain starts to spread from whumpee's chest all the way across their torso, constricting every blood vessel. You know how it feels when you have a blood pressure cuff on, and your arm feels sore and tingly? Imagine that, but on both arms, and Whumpee's chest as well.
Mentally, whumpee will be feeling a great deal of panic. Heart attacks can come on incredibly quickly, so this sudden agony and discomfort is a clear sign that something isn't right. Even the most stoic of whumpees will be feeling a sense of impending doom.
The more that whumpee panics, though, the worse it gets. They're sweating now, and by this point if they're not sat down, their lightheadedness and dizziness will force them to slide down the nearest wall, clutching their chest and desperately trying to breathe properly.
Depending on the severity of the heart attack, it could lead to cardiac arrest, where the heart stops beating entirely. Whumpee will rapidly lose consciousness, and then it's up to those around them to get help- if they're alone, the prognosis at this point is pretty dire.
Hope this helps!!

Harm Reduction
(will update whenever I think of more)
-Don't take too many laxatives! you could become dependent on them. that means not being able to 💩 and being even more bloated than you were in the first place.
-If you haven't started, don't purge! It can cause blood vessels to break in your face. Vomit is highly acidic, so unless you constantly brush your teeth, you will get decayed teeth and may even end up losing them. The acidity can also deteriorate the flesh of your throat- causing a 24/7 sore throat. It's bad for heart function!! people with bulimia are 5x more likely to have heart attack!
-Take. Your. Fucking. VITAMINS! 90% of the health issues people with 4n4 face are due to malnutrition. Idc how little or how much you eat, get your fucking micronutrients in. Make sure you get good quality ones specific to your gender and age as well!!
-Be EXTREMELY careful when breaking a long fast. I'm talking more than three days. You can get Refeeding syndrome- to oversimplify it, your metabolism freaks because of the sudden change and it can cause sudden death, cardiac arrest, seizers, and the like. Look it up if you are prone to fasting. The best way to break a fast is to prioritize fats and proteins, while avoiding carbs, and start with liquids. I know you're gonna feel starving but seriously. Drink some broth and have a hard boiled egg, it's gonna be okay.
