i feel like i also have to explain the relationship between Mother and the mystic seller a little bit, once they meet Mother almost idolizes them and is excited to take their words to heart, and as theyre working towards recruiting the bishops theyre "rewarded" for their progress, they see it as a blessing, to mm it's the way of things

they receive baals necklace first, and shortly after leshys got, the ritual to bring baal back is successful and hes incredibly skeptical about everything thats going on because he cant fathom narinder being a mortal buthe takes it better than his brother who holds hard onto the belief that this is all unfair far longer than his brother does

theres a LOT of things that happen between baals resurrection and ayms, during which baal learns about what it is to be a person and individual, but he'll still struggle with this feeling of being loyal to narinder, possibly even more so now that he sees him as an equal with flaws

The whole reason he trained Lloyd so hard after was because he is well aware of how being the green ninja is a curse, especially to Lloyd. He knew a target was on Lloyds back now and for the rest of time and he can do nothing to remove it, only help Lloyd in handling it.

He took in a bunch of teenagers, thats something i wont deny to also be bad. But don’t you find it convenient that Wu took them each in during separate times of need? Cole, deep in grief, needed to become a ninja because it completed him. Jay, desperate for a place and purpose in this world, needed to be a ninja to become confident and aware of his worth. Zane, confused and lost, needed to be a ninja to find his own place in the world, needed to be a ninja because he needed to have a purpose, a home. Kai, angry and traumatised, needed to become a ninja to become the best version of himself. Wu knew of each of them, and only took them in when he knew they needed an outside source to lead them.

Literally i dont understand why people paint him as a villain. He has never been one. It’s like how Mystake said, the only reason one becomes wise is through their own mistakes, their own life and experiences. Wu is an old, old man. He is right when he says he’s not like how he used to be.

It was a similar story but very different. Guard, Suncat and Senior guard were all characters in it.

-In the og comic there was no god. The cats worshipped the sun but it wasnt like an actual being, just their belief.

-instead of dying slowly because of the god Suncats starved themselves on purpose as a sacrifice so the sun wouldnt burn everything (they lived in a desert).

-the cats were very much humans just drawn as cats cause little Sysi didnt know how to draw humans lol. Like they had houses and shit

-also i am very much sure that it was disrespectful to some cultures. Not on purpose, I just didnt really understand stuff like this at that point of my life (it was before stuff like "why it isnt ok to put feathers in warrior cats' heads" or really anything about cultural appropriation were discussed in my circles). I didnt take inspiration on anything specific but still. Ive learned a lot since then, I was a kid back then.

-The storyline was very different since the god wasnt real. It was mostly Guard proving that and the whole city going to chaos and literally everyone died. (Cat thats replaced with Sugarpaws tried to kill Guard, but Suncat stopped her and died of her wounds, Guard died because he stayed with dying Suncat in a fire, "Sugarpaws" was killed by Senior guard and I think Senior guard was killed by smoke??? Or she died because she pushed "sugarpaws" off a roof and went down with her????)

-Also Guard's and Suncat's relationship was way more vague to the point that some readers saw it as parent and child and some even romantic. I believe i saw them as friends, there was no romance in the comic

suprise baby with kafka is so insane like how would she react? she's prob perfect if r tends to panic under stressful situations, her cool nature would balance their panicky nature.

if she’s truly deeply in love she would stick around… wouldnt be there 24/7, again, the SH thing, but she would be involved and she’d be so cute about it. she calls (not just texts…) every day to see if youre good and when shes free she just shows up at your place to ease your anxiety in person (and watch her baby grow even tho she doesn’t rlly say it). kafka herself would need a lot of reassurance that this is something you can do together and that she’ll be a good parent because imo she never thought about having kids, theyre too messy and dont fit with her lifestyle (even back on her home planet) so she’d have a lot of reservations about it. but you’re absolutely right that since she doesnt really feel anxious, her energy would rub off on r. she seems to always know what to say (she’s freestyling on the spot) and would just be the most chill one of the two (she smokes a LOT. though shes trying to quit) so it’s refreshing to have her around. if anything, shes always one call away. i think kaf would be a good parent like thats my biased opinion bc i’d force her but she would care so much and it would show in everything she does for you and your kid and now i want her babiesssss😭😭😭😭😭😭

my opinion of both him and karasu changed a bit when they released the panels of him in episode nagi spin off and it was basically saying he's no thoughts head empty and kind of a whore. but it's like for the love of the game and i dont think he pisses you off nearly as much as oliver does.

im not defending him like he's an idiot but i do think he's harmless and i dont think it's a herculean labor to get him to catch feelings for you but it's not something you can force by pursuing him? i think if you want to date otoya you really Really have to be his friend.

like. you can't date him off the bat because he automatically sees dating = playing around. you have to be his friend for a few years first i think to get him to view you as a person and not a dating partner. and at some point during that i think he uses the empty space in his head to form a thought and kind of lands upon - it's more fun being with you than it is dating other girls

so in my head it plays out like. you become good close friends and stay like that for a while. you get along well. otoya enjoys hanging out and having fun with you more than he likes dating around at some point. he decides to ask you out kind of frivolously though its just for kicks and you know that already.

and you have to tell him no i think. reverse robins au has so much wasted potential

i've only ever read one good reverse robins au before and now i need more. but like, the whole idea is such an interesting way to explore the similarities between each of the batkids and how the differences will change their story.

imagine bruce wayne falling in love with talia al ghul in the league of assassins as a 17 yo and when he returns to gotham he tries never to think abt it again cause he (even in canon) imagined a future with talia but he cant have that now. he's heartbroken.

and then when he turns 25 he finds this 8 yo lil assassin on his doorstep who is claiming to be his son. like????? so he tries his best improve himself so that he can take care of damian and set up a good example for him. he tries to make damian believe that killing is wrong by making him his sidekick and letting him help out.

since damian is the first batkid here and not dick, he'll probably get a very dark and bat-related edgy name instead of robin. maybe smth like shadow or nameless or smth.

but then ofc damian wants to reinvent himself so after graduating he moves away from bruce to bludhaven. he and jon then together become nightwing and flamebird.

then 12 yo tim comes along. he sees how sloppy and rough batman has gotten with his work without a partner to not only balance the workload but also try to be better for. plus, he's being very angsty with the whole fighting with damian thing, and he's questioning whether or not he did a good job in raising damian.

so when tim fails to convince damian to be robin again, he knocks on the door of wayne manor. alfred answers the door and when he asks who tim is, tim jst hands him a very neat, times new roman size 12 font, 20 page document, saying "pls let mr wayne know that this is my formal application for the position of his partner"

obvi tim and damian dont get along, since even tho im sure tim would come up with a different name since he's only the second batkid and its rlly up to him whether or not he wants to make the title a legacy, damian still feels like he's being replaced. but ofc like the bats they are, they repress this and dont end up talking abt it. they like to banter in fun and theyre a good team in a fight but most of teh time theyre jst awkward around each other which physically pains tim cause like, yknow, hero worship.

then a few montsh after tim becomes robin, he meets cass who was directly found by alfred. he took her home, fed her some food and offered her to stay at wayne manor upon realizing that shes homeless. adn welp, after finding out abt her past...the rest is history. she becomes the first batgirl.

the really good reverse robin au that i read and mentioned earlier is the Reverse Robin AU by yello_cabellaro its super duper good and you should read it. but what i rally loved abt it is the idea that tim and cass are not only siblings, but twins. them sharing a birthday because cass doesnt know how old she is???? OMFG THATS SO SWEET. and thats how cass becomes 13 yo jst like tim when they met

then tim and cass encounter up and coming 14 yo vigilante stephenie brown aka spoiler. those 3 become a trio, and they make batman and his sidekick the batfam. now its not jst the Bat, its a Bat.

(tim and steph date briefly but then break up after a while because they feel like theyre better off as friends)

but then one day, when tim's 15, jack and janet drake dont return home one day. they were going to stay for the entirety of christmas break so they shouldve come straight home that day after work at drake industries. but they didnt. tim tracks them down to...a warehouse. he think its jst another ransom kidnapping so he jst suits up as robin and heads out. plus him and bruce had been at odds at the time abt whether or not he should reveal his identity to young justice so he didnt tell batman.

but cass ends up catching him while he's sneaking out and steph finds them on their way so teh three of them arrive at teh warehouse. its the joker and harley quinn. he's able to capture tim and steph but not cass. she tries to take him and his henchmen down alone at first but after realizing that she cant win she escapes and tells bruce.

by the time bruce arrives, janet drake is dead, jack drake is in a coma, tim is crippled and at 16 yo, stephanie brown is dead. at the funeral, seeing how depressed bruce is and the tears in tim and cass's eyes, 21 yo damian decides to move back to the manor.

(he kills the joker before he does tho, because his moral compass is more on the wonder woman side than the batman side now taht he's is own hero)

bruce ends up adopting tim and cass too and tim officially becomes oracle. bruce tries to discourage cass from the vigilante life but she's her father's daughter so it doesnt work. she works as bruce's go-to sidekick for a bit.

bruce encounters 12 yo jason todd trying to steal his tires a few months after steph's death, so ofc he adopts him. (he swears he didnt mean to, it jst happened!) he soon becomes batman's sidekick after receiving tim's seal of approval.

meanwhile, this incident confirms the identities of the batfam for the joker so Batman: Endgame takes place. enter 16 yo Duke Thomas and his We Are Robin movement. about a year after steph's death, duke becomes the signal and is adopted by bruce. (bruce wont admit it but sometimes duke reminds him of steph)

3 years after steph's death, a new crime lord called red hood enters the gotham game. they say she has blonde, almost white hair. she wears a red hoodie and voice modulator at all times, and strangely enough, has a bat on her chest. she sets up base in crime alley and starts monopolizing gang operations.

cass is the one to find out. she almost cant believe it at first. the red hood has been around for only a few weeks, but she's already been driving all the bats crazy with how much information she has on them and how crazy good she is at what she does. still, cass hadn't seen her in person before. now...now she does, and all the pieces click.

the red hood moves jst like steph. jst like her best friend. cass nearly cant even recognize her. her hair is a blonde that's closer to white, her blue eyes glow green with anger, there are scars marking her freckles, and she's using league of assassins moves. but that's...that's still steph.

cass runs away from a fight for the first time in her life, because she cant fight steph. she cant hurt her.

when she tells everyone, there is confusion, disbelief and....mixed emotions. they dont know whether to be happy because steph's alive or whether to be sad that she's a criminal. she's angry at them, they can tell taht much. but they still dont know which approach to take.

turns out steph does it for them. because tim is kidnapped from the clocktower that night. cass tells everyone that she and only she will go after him, because what steph needs isnt strangers or authority figures. she needs her friends. her robin and batgirl.

steph does her dramatic confrontation and nukes bludhaven. she's angry at them, all of them, for letting kid vigilantes run around again after what happened to her.

but well, plot happens. shes still wary of the batfam but she cooperates. she mourns the person she was and its hard for her but tim and cass always force themselves into her apartment on special ocassions. they always spend their bday at her place.

then bruce wayne and his family attend haley's circus on the night the flying graysons die. dick grayson is taken in by bruce, but then bruce gets lost in the time stream - oh wait, no, he 'dies'.

Damian becomes batman even tho he doesnt want to. he takes care of dick the way his father once took care of him. he tries his best.

tim doesnt believe that bruce is dead so he packs his crutches and a few other essentails and goes globetrotting. its hard with his disability, but hes tim drake.

then bruce is back, and even tho dick has been strictly forbidden from crime-fighting, he made them pinky promise that he can join once he's a teenager. (damian is hoping he'll forget abt theat) (spoiler (ha!) alert, dick will never forget. once a robin, always a robin.)

and thats what they are. a family. alfred is proud.

I have the headcanon that our star athlete/model struggles to read kanji!

I believe he can speak Japanese just fine because it's how he communicates with his mom, but reading is a whole other story. I noticed in my first watch of Ultraman: Rising that he seems to pronounce Japanese words quite well and I thought it was a voice actor trick way to let the audience know that while the entire movie is in English by default, he is still speaking fluent Japanese in that world.

I think he texts in English and can read some basic words in hiragana/katakana but he struggles with reading Japanese in general.

Basic words I'm sure he knows are stuff on his mom's grocery list, road signs and casual conversation texting

He gets away with not reading because surprisingly he's not expected to much when in public lmao and when he does have to read on the spot, he has Mina to auto-translate in a pinch.

For me, I felt like the parenting advice from Mina/the books he read seemed Western. I get the 5 S's but Asian babies do not get swaddled lmao. Those are English books 100%.

Yet even if they are JP books, I found it curious that he was reading a lot of physical books and news while watching the movie. The explanation I came up with for myself is that Kenji can't read Japanese characters, but he is definitely practicing

I headcanon that Mina is his language tutor, and that part of his practice is that he has to read physical text so that he won't feel tempted to get it auto-translated.

hopefully whatever happens after this will help alicia and lloyds relationship feel more balanced (rn its like fine but it definitely doesnt carry the same weight as llovier to me, simply bc we dont really see alicia and lloyd relying on each other in the same way javier and lloyd do - idk how else to put this but the "power balance" in their relationship feels different than lloviers if that makes sense, bc so often lloyd is doing things for alicia and that's just It yknow?)

anyway back to the top! we've got some really really nice panels of lloyd i just really like these in general,,, i like when he looks determined and serious and focused,,, it is cute

also explicitly mentioning this while also showing alicia IN the unfrozen time bubble with lloyd DOES make me worry a lil bit,,, what if smth happens,,, does fate still affect them when Most of the time across the world is frozen?? im scared,,, but also excited for more alicia lloyd scenes i can explain why in a bit,,, but also scared,,,

tyrant alicia looks cool as ever tho holy shit im VERY glad that the artist gave her a full set of armor and everything, so often we see fantasy stylized women's armor that really doesn't protect anything at all but alicia's armor is really nice and clean i like it,,,

also another panel of lloyd being cringe and javier being embarrassed,,, they're so stupid i love them . LET LLOYD BE CRINGE LET HIM BE FREE

this bit w artanis and the family was also super duper cute,,, little sillies,,, like treats,,,

also thinking a LOT about these two panels bc,,, not only bc i really like how he looks in the second panel here, but also,,, well as i was reading this i hadnt realized that lloyd would be going off by HIMSELF to the mountains,,, i thought javier would go with him (bc he always does,,,)

i talked abt this when i reacted on twitter but like. javier asks if he's going by himself and lloyd goes "yeah it's fine" and javier doesn't question it, we don't see him objecting or anything,,, bc of course, lloyd will stay safe. that's what he says, so that's what'll be true. javier is also perfectly aware that lloyd can't be harmed by monsters, he's a sword master and has his singing. so the knight lets him go, bc this is a lloyd with a plan, and javier trusts his lord. but also it seems like javier doesnt really realize what exactly it is that lloyd is subjecting himself too. idk if he realizes that every time lloyd freezes time THATS whats freezing his heart; all the knight knows is that lloyd is dying, but the engineer has a solution so surely it's okay (it's not, lloyd is DYING IN THE COLD). jesus fuck

like i imagine if javier realized what exactly it is thats causing lloyd to Die is the exact stuff he's doing to stop fate and save everyone, he'd object immediately and try to find something else,,, but lloyd you fucking MARTYR u dont even say anything abt it and u GO OFF ALONE IN THE COLD WHAT ARE DOING WHAT ARE YOU COOKING. GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!! MARTYRS ALL OF YOU!!!

also lloyd saying he's happy god fucking dammit. he has a goal and he's close to achieving it and all his loved ones are safe,,, that's probably the best feeling in the world to him that's the reason why he does like everything,,, it's just to protect what he cares about,,, this tiny lil smile i am going to shake him in a box

okay i was gonna end the post there but i scrolled back up to review and realized i forgot to actually explain why i am excited for more alicia lloyd scenes so that's gonna go here now i guess LMFAOO

i really really hope that alicia and lloyd have a closer, more quiet moment to talk about their respective lives and history with losing loved ones and feeling isolated as a result. i WAS gonna talk abt that in a dedicated alicia post but i guess itll make a cameo here too lol

bc if u think abt it, suho and alicia both went through very very devastating losses. they both lost the lives of the people who cared for them most, and in very very tragic ways (suho's parents committed, and alicia's parents were slaughtered / alicia's brothers put her in a 'kill or be killed' situation). it's really unfortunate, it's life-altering, and it follows you,,, and then the isolation that comes after that makes it all even worse.

of course, we see suho very explicitly going through throes of isolation through endless work, endless school, and the sheer struggle to just survive to the next day by himself, with no family to support him. obviously, we don't see alicia explicitly having this experience, but i think it'd be reasonable to believe that after the death of her family,,, it was just her. she lost her parents and her brothers, and now she's the only one with the magentano name, and you can't exactly have an empty mantle now can you?

she probably didn't really have anyone to talk to about this. probably just a bunch of old coots on that board of nobles, who have to help her with this "being queen" thing, u cant exactly talk abt ur trauma to people who are technically working for u, who care more abt their status in the kingdom than anything else. and at such a young age, too... like yeah she's surrounded by people technically, but how many people around her actually care for HER, and not for her new status as crown princess? and then as queen? like no wonder tyrant alicia comes to be because of a betrayal from kyle, no wonder she's worried abt letting lloyd into her heart. she's probably been worried about betrayal from a loved one all her life bc of what her brothers did,,, that must be so isolating, and lonely.

so yes, i think alicia probably went through a long bout of isolation, too. and i think alicia and lloyd should Talk about it and have a heart to heart and go "jesus fuck we went through it,,, but we have found people we can rely on. and isn't that wonderful,,," and then alilloyd will have a wonderful leg to stand on yay

i WOULD go on longer about alicia in this rant but i wanted to save it for the post i was planning,,, i couldn't help myself this time though, bc it seemed relevant LOL

EVERYONE LIVES AU THATS WHAT

I'm calling this the 'roof au' because sunny. well. you can guess

-the premise of this au is that sunny, overwhelmed by mari, his parents, and his own expectations attempts suicide by jumping off the roof of his house, similar to the bad end

-he survives of course, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down and blind in one eye

-mari is, expectedly, DISTRAUGHT. She hates herself at first for not noticing and for pressuring him, but eventually channels it into making sure sunny never gets hurt Ever Again

-sunny, similar to the canonverse where he forced himself to forget about the incident, forgets that the accident was a suicide attempt. If you ask him, there was an accident that left him paralyzed and that's it

-hes really pissed because everyone, ESPECIALLY mari, seems to be treating him like hes about to die or smth

-since he doesnt remember the whole suicide thing, he thinks its because hes disabled and that makes him really, really annoyed

-with mari home from college for summer and more overprotective than ever, sunny feels almost suffocated

-the story starts when sunny overhears a conversation between aubrey and mari that suggests his accident may not have been an accident, leaving sunny confused

-he starts to realize that theres gaps in his memory and things that dont add up, so he tries to figure out through his friends and his own headspace what ACTUALLY happened

-headspace still exists, tho its more of a place for sunny to have fun adventures with his friends that he wouldnt be able to have in the real world

-in headspace, sunny can still walk, and instead of being confined to the picnic blanket, mari joins his party and is able to fight (though, like hero, her skills are less attack focused and theyre able to buff her friends stats, and theyre usually music focused), though basil still sits on the picnic blanket since he doesnt like to fight

-omori is a seperate entity from sunny, sort of like an imaginary friend. he protects basil at the picnic blanket (and sunny from the truth) sunny has had him as an imaginary friend since he was very little in this au, with omori often comforting him (even more so before his attempt, due to the stress he was under)

-its important to note that sunny is no longer suicidal, since he doesnt remember a reason to be. he woke up one day and completely forgot, so mari just went along with it, believing it was better for his mental health

-its equally important to note that like kel, basil does not think sunny attempted suicide. he believes that mari PUSHED him, and it was all her fault, so he refuses to talk to her

(edit cuz i forgot to add this) the ships in this fic are:

rosemari: very much an old married couple, more distant than they used to be because of mari spending so much time worrying about sunny

suntan: idiots in love. they both have a crush on the other but they're way too obvious to notice

cotton candy: 'just got into a relationship,' lots of awkward handholding and kisses. sunshine + sunshine protector. aubrey LOVES gushing about kim, mostly to Sunny cause Kel makes fun of her, Hero keeps telling her to be careful, and Mari's never home. Kim tried making a bracelet for Aubrey once and majorly fucked it up, but she kept it as a keychain

sunflower: onesided, Basil mistaking deep platonic love for a crush
