hi hi :) you made me think of personal story characters, so have a couple that you originally meet there--demmi and caudecus? @kerra-and-company
Ohhh! Two characters I never went in detail about! 😶😁 *cracks fingers* That's gonna be interesting! 🖋️
Let's start with Demmi!
She'd probably have been Elianora 's bestie amongst the Order of Whispers!
I like her character and her arc — rebelling against her corrupt minister of a father was kind of a big deal in the early PS but it's completely eclipsed by everything else until Season 3 where she just... dies?! Ex-fucking-cuse you, Logan, I thought you were a Guardian! Heal her, for Dwayna's sake!
There's another death where I was like "no, nope, never happened, she was shot, she fainted, but Meryw, Anwen and Logan did what guardians flippin' do and saved her!
As for Minister Caudecus, my beloathed!
From the very first instances of PS, we know something is afoot with Minister Caudecus and that he's sabotaging Jennah's authority under a mask of respectability, but having him as the first antagonist in LWs3 was a pleasant surprise, especially considering Anwen's background!
From a very personal perspective it went something like this for her: Minister Zammon, as a straw man for Caudecus, is responsible for Faren's abduction, which she took great care to avenge him for and let him avenge himself by picking her brother as her second for the trial by combat, so Caudecus sees them tear Zammon to pieces, and starts getting a glimpse of what he's dealing with. After the trial, the White Mantle try to eliminate Anwen, who disrupts a great deal of their operations in Queensvale — under the guidance and in collaboration with the Seraph and the Shining Blade — and discovers the truth about her birth parents fate. She makes her peace with this part of her past and keeps on living her life — once again meddling in Caudecus' affairs by exposing Minister Estelle's lies about the Queen! — and when she had all but forgotten about the Mantle, they blow up the Bloodstone and set siege against Divinity's Reach, directly threatening all that she loves again! Add to this a dear friend of hers being tortured in Caudecus' dungeons and you get a picture of how much Anwen wanted him dead.

[Chaz]: “I know I wasn’t keen on Mad King’s Day. ...As a matter of fact I’m still a little shaky after meeting Mad King Thorn himself. But while the tricks might have taken a few years off of my life span, the treats have made it worthwhile.
Someone gave me a roll of toilet paper - I’m still not sure why, but... when I saw it, the worst possible idea crept into my head.
I promised myself I’d never return to Beetletun after what happened at Caudecus’ Manor, unless I had a very good reason to.
Tonight, I think I’ve found that reason.”

Seen as the game will never be updated, what do you think Beetletun would be like now that Caudecus is dead? How did it effect the mood of the people? Would the landscape have changed? Would any landmarks have been altered?
It’s hard to say.
Rose wasn’t elected, she was installed as Minister and I can best describe the situation as tense.
To the outside world, it’s been the seat of an ancient threat and everyone in Beetletun is suspect of being White Mantle or a sympathizer, benefiting from Caudecus while he pulled strings to harm the rest of the Krytan population.
For those who were oblivious to any White Mantle activity, they’ve seen themselves betrayed by a man who, by all accounts, was good to them, protecting them where the Seraph could not (by design) and overseeing a fairly robust local economy. Not only do they feel the sting and the shock but have to deal with the questioning outsiders.
Now throw in a Ministry selected Minister being forced on them without their votes, and it looks like the Queen is putting considerable pressure on them. A Queen they likely suspect the motivations of–as it’s difficult to live in a town controlled by someone against Jenna, even not knowing he was Mantle, and be immune to their persuasion.
The biggest question hanging over the town is–are there any Mantle left? And if yes, then who?
At this point it’s far too early for Rose to be calling for the removal of any statues or monuments, but it’s well known she’s told the circus performers in no unclear terms, they’re no longer welcome.
As for his mansion, she would like nothing more to see it either torn down or carefully renovated into a public building.

honestly all caduceus had to do was get jennah to step on a nail or thumbtack or something that would get her sick and she would die of infection and then boom!
white mantle rule
we wouldn’t have had to go through all of that dumb shit.

The Grin Warband Guide To House-Sitting
Rule #1: Do not ask Grin warband to house-sit for you.
Rule #2: If you must ask Grin warband to house-sit for you, hide any and all alcohol that you do not want imbibed.
Rule #3: See Rule #1. Seriously, it’s not worth the trouble.
[Chaz]: In my defense, the bottle was clearly labeled "DON’T DRINK THIS EVAN”, and to my knowledge none of us are called Evan, so I figured we could go ahead and have it. Beetletun police are a bunch of killjoys anyway, apparently you can’t go TP-ing Caudecus’ Manor and calling the carnies “Separatist shitbirds” nowadays, even if it’s true.
...Buncha Separatist shitbirds.

A Political Move
Three in favor, one against, one abstention.
And like that it was done, her current course set for at least the next month. She would go to Beetletun and try to keep affairs in order until a proper Minister for the shire could be found.
There were objections, many of them she’d made herself. Appointing a Minister rather than having one elected could be seen as overstepping the rights of the people to represent themselves…rights that weren’t specifically guaranteed anywhere. At the same time, as thorough as the Shining Blade were, the White Mantle had endured long enough to pose a significant threat to the safety of the Kingdom, and it wasn’t impossible there were more hiding out there, laying low and looking for opportunities to continue Caudecus’ work.
Placing their own Minister, temporarily, gave them a chance to try and untangle whatever secrets were left in place, to find where evil had been seeded and missed in the ripping out of the main root. It also made them look like authoritarian dictators, and why should the people of Beetletun trust and accept her, a known murderer, as their leader? Overseer seemed like a more apt term. Rose knew why she’d been picked, she was well known for her work in Rurikton, her work in the Ministry and her time serving in conscription to pay for her crimes was marked by glory on the battlefield against the Mantle.
Setting books into the cart to move to her new home, a small rented house with space on the second floor for an office, she did not expect to be welcomed warmly or at all. It would be a challenge to try and win their trust, but one she was willing to take on. Someone had to and she wasn’t sure who she would have suggested in her place. She didn’t feel like she was ideal…but neither was anyone else. There was no ideal way to do what they were doing, in theory for the good of the realm.
