Genfic with a focus on Barry's and Hartley's friendship!! Set in season two when Barry travels back to the events of Hartley's first appearance. In the new timeline created by this, they're friends only that Barry doesn't know and has some trauma from the time Hartley wanted to kill him <3

Currently its been art (commissions especially), Dead Boy Detectives (catwin my beloved) and How goddamn hot it is and how much I need summer to be over already 😩

14: Would you rather be a vampire, elf, or merperson?

Merpersonnnnnnnnnn!! There's no question if I could trade my stupid legs right now I'd be dodging fishing nets in the big blue in a heartbeat. Now whether I'd want to be a reef, open ocean, or abyssal deep type of sea creature, who knows. Or some kind of idk, harbor seal selkie wedging myself in kelp to take naps and flopping around on warm rocks.

20: Do you like space or the ocean more?

This probably seems a little obvious given my answer about the merperson thing but, ocean all the way. a) because its just as mysterious but without sending me into a deep existential spiral if I think too hard about it and b) because I can physically experience it in a way that isn't possible with greater space yet. Also bc fish 🐠

so question time, lizzy!! how old are the characters in troutespond? they all look like very adorable teenagers but what are their exact ages?

They’re all 17 :D 

I had a very angry letter from a beloved reader (the Catwin the book is dedicated to :P) who had done the maths based on comments I made through the first 5 books and she showed up at my house one day like LIZZY ALL THEIR BIRTHDAYS ARE IN APRIL WHAT ARE YOU DOING 

And the only answer I have to that is that I needed them to be drinking age in book 2 but they were 17 in book 1 and I think I may have deleted that reference but at the time it probably was clearly stated when talking about the village pub at one point or another. 

I THINK I’ve managed to do the maths to narrow it down to both Ally and Teb having April birthdays, Tanya is allowed to be 18 all along with an earlier non-specified winter birthday, and Alana is the baby of the group but 18 by book 4, but this is DEFINITELY something I do not want dedicated readers to go back and forth between comments on their ages and birthdays working out for themselves. Because I myself don’t know and therefore have written it pretty slapdash based on what FELT right in the moment……… 

I am not the sort of writer who does astrology for my characters and it shows XD
