barley for the ask game please
sexuality headcanon
Pretty usual but I like gay barley
gender/pronouns headcanon
Okay unusual one but trans masc Barley using he/him pronouns. Idk he’s a queer cowboy to me
rate them out of ten
Solid 6/10. Not like a favorite or disliked at all. A little more positive then neutral
favorite thing about them
He’s a gay cowboy cat what’s not to like about that? He also has massive like gay uncle vibes to me and helps a lot of cats find themselves.
least favorite thing about them
Not a fan of how he worrisome he’s portrayed because of my vision of him being this laid back, figured out life kinda guy. I mean it’s not horrible it’s just not how I view him.
why i first started liking/disliking them
This past year I’ve started liking him more. Honestly never thought about him before but I do enjoy him as a character. Love his sister a lot she’s amazing Violet for the win
do i relate/project onto/kin them?
Nope not really
favorite quote/moment
“Every day, every heartbeat. But it’s easier now, I know my times is near and whatever path Ravenpaw’s spirit is also soon will I be beside him”
-Barley to Graystripe in Graystripe’s Vow
my fav ship
I mean RavenBarley lol that’s the only one I think of for him. Tho he does seem to type to have a few platonic partners as well
my fav platonic friendship
None that I can think of
a ship i hate
I don’t think there are any ships outside of RavenBarley for him so no
do i prefer canon or fanon?
Hmm it’s hard bc I like some fanon and some canon. He’s a laid back gay cowboy cat to me who helped Raven see who he was himself and cares for any cat who needs it. He’s just a cool dude
random headcanon
Has ate a cigar. He found it and ate it, did not taste that good but not necessarily horrible
what color do i picture them as
Such a yellow orange color. Sorta like the inside of a orange
cat breed headcanon
Main coon Barley always sits in my mind. That or British shorthair Barley
unpopular opinion
I don’t care for angsty barley very much at all. Just can’t picture him like that though he does have a bit of trauma in his past from Bloodclan.
things i associate with them
Ravenpaw lol. And wheat he’s just a wheat field
song i associate with them
That’s Okay by the Hush Sound or Who are you, Really? By Mikky Ekko
favorite MAP/PMV/AMV with them
I don’t think there are any? Oh I guess Ocean Breathes Salty does feature him and I liked him in that. I’ll take pirate Barley as well
#barley wc#wc barley#barley warrior cats#he’s just a chill dude#anthro him would smoke cigars tho and be a huge rum drinker#I bet he could make his own bourbon. and maple syrup#he helps to steer the cattle much like a cattle dog#has that farmland cat status and the family there cares for him a lot. they quickly accepted Raven in as well#asks#honest wc ask game

𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐀𝐆𝐎 . . .
From a distance, the Meads Ranch had seemed like a small glimpse of heaven on earth.
Cattle roamed the fields while the sun was beginning to rise, pickup trucks being driven off of the ranch and leaving trails of dirt behind them. Pieces of hay are scattered around everywhere you walk.
Carmen had first noticed you when you came out of the main Mitchell family lodge. The property had similar lodges, but that was the one used for most of the family, and the oldest lodge on the land.
You had been brought to the ranch as a chance from an old family friend. Almost like you’re second chance at life.
Gavin Mitchell, the oldest son, walked out of the house with you by his side. You two, laughing and talking. "I'm so glad you are joining us, and- oh! Carmen." Gavin walks over to Carmen, his arm resting on the cattle fence Carmen had spent the past few days repairing. "This is Y/N. You are going to train her on ranch life."
"Yes, sir." Carmen nods. You could tell by the tone in his voice he either wasn't happy about training you, or he'd done it so many times before it felt exhausting.
Gavin leaves you two alone. You smile, holding your hand out. "Hi, I'm-"
"Pick that pair of pliers up and get to work." He states.
Huh. Definetly taking the cold shoulder approach.
──
Much to your surprise, you and Carmen got over the cold approach. He’d become somewhat more open with you within the first month of your time on the ranch.
It wasn’t a fast thing. The opposite, actually. It took him a day to learn your name instead of saying ‘you’ when he needed something from you. It took him a week to start conversations with you, instead of you starting them with him.
Now a month later. He had been told by the other handlers on the ranch they were going out, and Carmen was expected to go with them. But not without-
“You wanna go to the bar with me?” He’d blurted out to you while you and him were working in one of the barns. It caught you off guard, so much so you took a minute to register it was him speaking to you and not his usual muttering to himself.
You turned and looked at him, letting out a soft chuckle. “Um.. you’re going to a bar?” You question first. Carmen hadn’t made it a secret he hated the bars in town. Too many tourists, people ruining good songs during karaoke.
“Well- the other handlers are but the dumbasses can’t be trusted to handle themselves, so.. I wanted to know if you wanted to come.” Carmen says, as he continued focusing on his work, almost using that as a distraction from having to make eye contact with you.
“Sure, I’ll come.” You had agreed. To Carmen’s pure surprise, you had said yes. And not a pity yes, or at least not an obvious one.
Needless to say, you being there made it actually enjoyable. Carmen wasn’t a drinker, and neither were you. It was one of the few things you two had in common, or that you knew you had in common.
You and him had found a somewhat secluded table in the bar, talking all night. He found himself asking questions about you, and he heard your laugh.
God. That laugh. He was sure if heaven had a sound attached to it, it would be that.
And eventually, you and him managed to wrangle all your guys into a truck with the ranch’s logo on the side, and managed to get yourselves back to the ranch.
Walking down a dirt path that lead to the handler house, it was just you and Carmen. His hands remained in the front pockets of his jeans. “I uh, had a really good time tonight.” He says. It was like admitting he liked being around you, without so many words.
“I did too, Carmen.” You say back as you walk onto the front porch with him right behind you. You stand there, making eye contact with him, both of you silent.
And that night, you and him almost kissed on the porch. *Almost.* Had it not been for one of the other handlers, Lee, throwing open the door to ask you two if you had any idea where his car keys were, you were sure you would have kissed him.
Another kiss for another time, you supposed.
──
And that kiss had come at another time. It was almost a week later when you and him found yourselves alone again in the barn. Somehow you and him always ended up in a barn.
You hadn’t been expecting it. Ever since the barn, it was like Carmen had made an effort to talk to you. Asking about your life before the ranch, telling you about his in return. He told you about his hopes, his family. And he’d make a point to stand close to you as he spoke to you.
Maybe he thought you didn’t notice the way he’d look at you out of the corner of your eye. A look that made it seem like he was asking himself if being this close to you was a good idea, and he’d decided it was.
It was silent for a pause before you decided to speak again. “You’re standing awfully close right now.” You comment. But your tone didn’t show you were upset by it, rather intrigued.
“Do you want me to back up?” He asks, his voice low. You turn to look at him, and that’s when you realize how close he actually is. His face close to yours.
You swallow before you speak. “No.” You answer, trying to keep your voice steady. You fail, but he wouldn’t tell you that.
He took a small step closer. A step that made a huge difference, because now he was looking at your lips. You decide to ask the question this time. “Do you want to kiss me?” You question.
He takes in a breath, before he decides to answer. “Yeah.” He says, as his eyes meet your again like he’s waiting for your approval. And you nod.
Go ahead. Your eyes were telling him. Kiss me.
And he did. His lips met yours in a sweep, his hands cupping your cheeks instantly. It’s soft at first, as he takes his time getting used to kissing you. And once he’s adjusted, he presses you up against the wall.
After you two had a makeout session like a couple of pathetic teenagers, he grabbed your hand and practically ran with you into the handler house. He had brought you into his bedroom, closing and locking the door behind you both.
From there, it was a switching pattern of throwing off clothes. His shirt, your shirt. His jeans, your jeans. Him laying you back as he takes your panties off and then gently placing kisses up your thigh. His eyes met yours as if silently asking for approval. You nod, desperate for him to just keep kissing up, and up, and-
He does. He kissed up your thigh, his lips finding on and sucking on your desperate clit. Your hands immediately fly to his head, fingers grasping at curls. The action elicits a guttural groan from Carmen, which practically vibrates through you as he eats you like a man starved.
His tongue is replaced by his fingers, thrusting in and out of you at a torture of a pace, his lips kissing and sucking on your glistening clit. His fingers are soaked, and he couldn’t care less. All he cares about is feeling you, not about the mess it makes.
Carmen was a simple man. He could get off on eating you out. The gasps and moans were enough to make him feel like he would just mess up his pants right then and there. And he almost does.
But can you blame him? You look so pretty like this. His nose bumping your clit as he watches his fingers slide in and out of you, the squelch noise it produces being more heavingly than it should be. Your soft pleas of “more” and “please” make him grin, and you can feel that cocky smile against your clit as he places a few feathery kisses on it.
He can feel your walls clenching around his fingers. Each time he removes them, he can feel you trying to keep them in, to surround them with yourself. He doesn’t mind though. The action only turns him on more.
“So pretty like this.” You can barely hear him mumble. You aren’t sure if he’s talking to you or your pussy. “Such a good girl f’me.”
And by the time you’re actually cumming on his fingers, he’s grinning like the cat from Alice in Wonderland. He watches as you fall apart on his fingers, and he has to resist the urge to lick your climax off of his hands.
He has to take his time with you.
“You did so good, baby.” He says, the pet name slipping out before he can stop it. You’re not complaining though. He presses kisses all over your face. On your forehead, your cheeks, your jaw as he praises you. “Did so good.”
Yeah. No way to ignore what was clearly happening between you both.
𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘 . . .
The golden lights hitting your face from the small cabin you and the other handlers lived in. Your room was at the end of a hallway, and you could hear the chaos of the other handlers starting in the kitchen below your room.
A small groan comes from beside you as you go to pull yourself out of bed. Carmen’s arms hug your waist, pulling you closer to him. “Do we really have to get up now?” Carmen may have been the ranches best handler, but that didn’t mean he was happy about the early hours.
“Afraid so, cowboy.” You turn, facing him. His arms stay planted where they are around your waist as he buries his face into your neck. He smells like cedarwood and apple, his aftershave smell still lingering as you place a few light kisses on his cheek.
“Mm. Call me cowboy again, shit’s sexy.” He requests as he places feathery kisses on your collarbone. You let out a soft laugh as his beard stubble scratches your cheek.
“You just don’t wanna go down there so they can celebrate your five years here.” You point out in a whispered voice as your hand scratches as his scalp, fingers running through morning curls.
“Makes me feel old.” He replies, his voice gruff as he climbs on top of you, placing kisses up your collarbone and on your neck as his arms wrap around your waist, arms wrapped around you. “Would rather celebrate with you instead.”
You weren’t complaining to that idea. You let him slide your pajama shorts down your legs, throwing them off some place. Lucky for him, you “forgot” your panties the night before.
Unlucky for him, cause he had a habit of tossing them aside and then keeping them.
He kissed at your neck as his hand teased you, fingers lightly trailing up your thigh. Getting closer to where you so badly wanted him- and he could tell. He could feel how soaked you were. Normally, he’d take his time. Tease you about it. But that idea was pushed out of his mind when he was desperate to feel you fall apart on his fingers.
He gently coaxed one finger past your folds. He could hear the strangled gasp that came out of you when he finally inserted a digit into you, and he fucking loved it. He would listen to that sound over and over again if he could.
He let his finger thrust in and out of you, letting you enjoy the feeling before he added a second. You were practically a goner by the point he’d inserted his first finger, but with the second? Oh, you were practically a mess.
And then his thumb rubbed soft circles on your clit, with him whispering praises in your ear? For sure, you were a goner.
He had to cover your mouth with his hand as you reached your climax. The other handlers were still downstairs, and he didn’t need them hearing you. Your moans, your failed attempts to beg for more were his to hear. Not someone else’s.
He pressed kisses to your jaw as you caught your breath. His rule of never properly, in his words, fucking you before you had at least one orgasm was proving to be very beneficial for you.
He lets you recover as he kisses you. Lets you catch your breath before he’s subtly pulling you on top of him as his tongue slides into your mouth with such ease.
“This is your big day. Pretty sure we should be celebrating you.” You murmur between kisses. He grins as you straddle him.
They have a saying in a world like yours. Save a horse. Ride a cowboy.
So, you do! You pull away from his lips as you place kisses down his jaw, whilst your free hand reaches and lowers his boxers. Ever so subtly lowering yourself onto him.
Carmen wasn’t an idiot. He could tell what you had been doing, but he wasn’t gonna stop you. Not when you looked too damn good riding him.
You kept your movements steady, at a pace you knew he’d speed up soon. His hands remained on your hips as he watched you. When your lips return to his neck, he feels like a mess. His mind is fuzzy, he can’t form a single thought besides the word “more”.
Now he was the one moaning under you. You knew how to drive him crazy, and you were doing it.
And how could he not? You took him so well. He stretched you out perfectly, hit the right spots. If he could stay buried inside of you all day, he probably would.
As soon as his hands began grasping your hips and the skin there, you knew to speed up, and you complied. He threw his head back, holding you so tight you knew he’d leave a bruise.
And by the time he spills inside of you, you’re sure he has. You don’t take long to follow right after him.
“Okay—” He says breathlessly after that potentially earth shattering climax. “Next time we do that, I am totally having you wear my hat.”
That elicits a giggle out of both of you.

The Invasion of Locusts
1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel son of Pethuel.
2 Hear this, you elders; listen, all who live in the land. Has anything like this ever happened in your days or in the days of your ancestors? 3 Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation. 4 What the locust swarm has left the great locusts have eaten; what the great locusts have left the young locusts have eaten; what the young locusts have left other locusts have eaten.
5 Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine; wail because of the new wine, for it has been snatched from your lips. 6 A nation has invaded my land, a mighty army without number; it has the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness. 7 It has laid waste my vines and ruined my fig trees. It has stripped off their bark and thrown it away, leaving their branches white.
8 Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the betrothed of her youth. 9 Grain offerings and drink offerings are cut off from the house of the Lord. The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the Lord. 10 The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up; the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the olive oil fails.
11 Despair, you farmers, wail, you vine growers; grieve for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field is destroyed. 12 The vine is dried up and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree— all the trees of the field—are dried up. Surely the people’s joy is withered away.
A Call to Lamentation
13 Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God. 14 Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for that day! For the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
16 Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes— joy and gladness from the house of our God? 17 The seeds are shriveled beneath the clods. The storehouses are in ruins, the granaries have been broken down, for the grain has dried up. 18 How the cattle moan! The herds mill about because they have no pasture; even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
19 To you, Lord, I call, for fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness and flames have burned up all the trees of the field. 20 Even the wild animals pant for you; the streams of water have dried up and fire has devoured the pastures in the wilderness. — Joel 1 | New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® All rights reserved worldwide. Wednesday 13th November 2024
By the time we were up at 6.00, most of our fellow travellers had left or were preparing to leave. Now is the time to travel whilst temperatures are less punishing. Masochists had been camping in tiny tents overnight not far from our chalet. It is inconceivable what it must be like to share the temperature and flies with an overwhelming desire to sleep in somethingnot much bigger than a shroud. They are now long gone. Still little traffic on the Barkly, although there were sounds overnight of the huge roadtrains ploughing through the darkness. A four trailer train, possibly weighing in at 200 tons and travelling at 110 kph, would not be too aware of the wildlife it may encounter, and there certainly is encounter judging by the butcher's slab seen in daylight hours. Entire cows are far from uncommon. But these vehicles are designed and protected to withstand such mishaps.
By 7.00, the Roadhouse maintenance teams are ramping up for a new day; lawns need to be sprinkled with powerful jets of water to protect that fresh green oasis appearance, paths blown clear of the 24 hrs of debris from the lush trees, the clean laundry hanging out on sturdy washing lines next to our chalet.
By 10, the 4 month old Ford Ranger, which has sat idle since Monday, was loaded and fired up ready for the relatively short 260 km journey ahead of us.
We searched for places of interest on route but struggled to find any. However, we did come across a monument at Avon Downs in Northern Territories, not far from the Queensland border which marks the place where, 4,000 sheep arrived, completing the longest ever sheep droving trip in Australian history, led by Wallace Caldwell. He and his men and 11,000 sheep left Rich Avon near Donald in north western Victoria in September 1882. The journey took 16 months and covered 3,500 km. The story was told in The Longest Drive by Tom Guthrie.
Then there was the sign, Welcome to Queensland. Surreal set in such flat plains stretching far and wide. We are in big cattle country, having a rich history of droving. And the clocks lurched forward 30mins.
The town of Camooweal, where we are spending the night, can be found by the Georgina River. The first Britisher to take a lease here was George Sunderland in 1865, arriving with 8,000 sheep. He didn't really hit it off too well with the aboriginies who were already living here, coupled with stock losses attributed to wild dingos and wedge tailed eagles. With the result he abandoned his lease. The Englishmen Benjamin Crosthwaite and William Tetley, who were marginally more successful, took up the lease again in 1876. A town sprang up in 1885.
The town soon had a reputation for cattle. During the wet season, some 1500 head of cattle would graze by the Georgina River awaiting telegrams as contracts to purchase from miles around. Up until the 1960s, teams of drovers would take them out. Gradually, roadtrains would replace these drovers and now the only but important link with this heritage is an annual Drovers Camp Festival in August.
Today, Camooweal is a bit of a ghost town. Population 236 at the time of writing this. Roadtrains carrying cattle rattle through disturbing the peace and tranquility of the town and its 4 drinkers sipping Castlemaine 4xxxx on the verandah of the Hotel Bar and then when the dust has settled again, the town returned to its slumber. A boarded up corrugated iron Heritage Centre had a convenient horse tethering rail as in a cowboy movie. The post office and supermarket was closed, as was the Drovers Museum. We felt obliged under the circumstances take a break from the stress of such a busy place to repair to the hotel pub ourselves and partake of a schooner of Stonehouse beer. A schooner always sounds huge, but I can assure you that it is merely a large half pint. Refreshing though in a chilled glass.
Our digs for the night score highly in the basic section, highly in the fragrance of carbolic section, poor in the 'let's make the establishment look chique, classy and expensive' section. I don't recall how much we are paying for tonight's experience, but I suspect it's too much. However, on the up side, we are only here one night, and it is clean. It has to be with that much carbolic! Our fellow travellers, I suspect, may make their living with trucks.
Chicken and salad again tonight due once again to the lack of cooking equipment. And another schooner down the road of the excellent Stonehouse.

You grabbed the last box from your car to take into your new apartment. The heat in this town was sweltering and oppressive, making your skin feel singed. Blowing hair out of your eyes, you closed the trunk and went into the cool of the AC. The place was small, but cute with high ceilings, new carpet, and new appliances. The living room and kitchen were in one open space with the bar separating the two and one bedroom off to the side. It felt a bit dark with only one large window in the living room and one in the bedroom, but that was nothing cute lighting couldn’t fix. With a deep breath, you plopped onto the couch. Freyja, your large black brindle dog, hopped onto it next to you with a sigh.
“I know girl. It’s quite a change.” You had only moved down to this town because your mom had convinced you it was wonderful. She tempted you with the beach, sea turtles, and good Mexican food, but you couldn’t help but miss Austin, Texas. It just was getting too crowded and too expensive and your schedule was so hectic it was hard to ever come down to visit. So here you were in a small obscure town in south Texas, right next to Mexico and the Gulf. It would be nice to be close to your parents and younger sister and brother. If you were honest, it was really just for your siblings. Your parents were too chaotic and hopefully you could watch out for them a lot easier being close by. Your phone dinged, rousing you from your thoughts. It was from Holly, your new manager.
“Hello Y/N, would you like to swing by this afternoon? That way we can get you into the system and ready for tomorrow. Once you get here, come in through the side door and my office is right to the left. Ready to get you on board.”
This would be your second vet clinic after graduating vet school. You hadn’t really been sad to leave the first one in Austin. It was small, stuffy, and cramped. The head veterinarian had also been a bit of a bitch, though you loved all of the technicians and they had become your friends. The pay here wasn’t going to be much better, but they saw all animal types, not just dogs and cats. Your true passion in veterinary medicine was large animals like cattle and horses. Your sister, Annie, had actually been the one to hook you up with the job. The owner of the clinic, Dr. Gary Montague, had just fired a doctor and needed a new one pretty badly. Perfect timing. Annie thought Dr. Gary was pretty great. There was one other doctor too, Dr. Azriel Gonzalez. Annie swore up and down you’d like him. Just your type, dark hair, hazel eyes, and he liked to sing. She said his only downfall was that he was a drinker. You weren’t interested. Your last relationship had ended poorly; he was precious in every way but his alcoholism had gotten to be too much so you ended things. You did not want a repeat of that. All you had to do was resist his charms. How hard could it be?
“Great. I will be there in 15.” You sent the reply to Holly and grabbed your keys to head back into the sweltering August heat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15 minutes later you pulled into the parking lot of your new job, Valley Vet Clinic. It was a large cream colored tin building with green trim and a gravel parking lot. Next door on the same lot was a similar building that housed a feed store. You parked and got out of the car, thankful beyond words for tee shirts and jean shorts in this heat. You walked to the side door Holly had indicated and into the cool air.
It had blue walls with gray tin trimming the lower half. It smelled faintly of cleaner and various animals smells. You went right, into the office which was piled with clutter of various papers, vials, and tools. You knocked lightly on the door.
“Holly?” A curvy woman turned in her office chair. She had olive skin and dark hair in a pony tail.
“Dr. Y/N Hi! Give me just a minute to finish up this test form. If you want to go out back, Dr. Gary should be out there and he can introduce you to everyone.”
“Yeah sure sounds good.” You smiled.
“Just go down to the right and then a left to the back treatment area. He’s out there with some horses.”
You walked out back where she had directed. There was a tall roof over a large concrete area with some kennels and two horse stocks. Dr. Gary, a thicker set bald man was floating a horse’s teeth while another man held its head. He had an electric grinder to file down sharp points in the horse’s teeth. You waited until Dr. Gary was finished and turned the tool off, it was way too loud to have said much before hand. You cleared your throat and walked over.
“Dr. Gary?” His eyes lit with surprise.
“Dr. Y/n hello! So glad you’re here. Are you ready to work?” He wiped his hands off on a rag and set the tool into a bucket of water.
“Yes sir. Although I didn’t come dressed today, Holly asked me to come to get my pin for the computers and fill out my paperwork.” You chuckled. Hoping he wasn’t going to make you take patients in shorts and a tee, but if he was insistent you probably would so as not to make a bad impression. “I will be ready bright and early tomorrow though.”
“Good, good. Dr. Y/n, have you met Dr. Azriel?”
Your breath caught. Your sisters description had not done him justice. He wore jeans and a simple black T shirt that stretched across his chest and around his arms that read “The Valley Vet” on the left side. His dark hazel eyes appraised you and he gave a slight smirk, still holding on to the horses halter.
“Well, I’ll leave y’all to get acquainted. I’m going to go check on rooms. Azriel, you got this covered?” He nodded and with that Dr. Gary walked back inside.
You moved to pet the sorrel horse on the muzzle. It was still groggy from the sedative. Azriel stepped back and crossed his arms.
“So you’re Y/n. Your sister told me about you. She said I was either going to love you or hate you.” His voice was deep and cool.
You have a snort. “Well I guess we will just have to see now, won’t we.”
“I guess we shall.” And with that he gathered the bucket of water, syringes, and tooth drill and walked inside.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Nahl Ayah 66-67
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
16:66 And there is indeed a lesson for you in the An'am (cattle).
We have made a drink for you out of what is in its belly, from between excretions and blood, pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.
16:67 And from the fruits of date palms and grapes, you derive strong drink and a goodly provision.
There is indeed a sign in this for those of reason.
Lessons and Blessings in Cattle and the Fruit of the Date-palm and Grapevine
Allah says,
there is for you (- O mankind -)
in the cattle,
meaning camels, cows and sheep,
a lesson,
meaning a sign and an evidence of the wisdom, power, mercy and kindness of the Creator.
We have made a drink for you out of what is in its belly,
meaning its singular forms refers to one cattle, or it could refer to the whole species. For cattle are the creatures which provide a drink from what is in their bellies and in another Ayah it is `in their bellies.' Either way is plausible.
He said,
from between excretions and blood, pure milk;
meaning it is free of blood, and is pure in its whiteness, taste and sweetness.
It is between excrement and blood in the belly of the animal, but each of them goes its own way after the food has been fully digested in its stomach. The blood goes to the veins, the milk goes to the udder, the urine goes to the bladder and the feces goes to the anus. None of them gets mixed with another after separating, and none of them is affected by the other.
pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.
meaning nothing to cause one to choke on it.
When Allah mentions milk and how He has made it a palatable drink for mankind, He follows this with a reference to the drinks that people make from the fruits of the date palm and grapevine, and what they used to do with intoxicating Nabidh (drink made from dates) before it was forbidden.
Thus He reminds them of His blessings, and says:
And from the fruits of date palms and grapes, you derive strong drink,
This indicates that it was permissible to drink it before it was forbidden.
• It also indicates that strong drink (i.e., intoxicating drink) derived from dates is the same as strong drink derived from grapes.
• Also forbidden are strong drinks derived from wheat, barley, corn and honey, as is explained in detail in the Sunnah.
strong drink and a goodly provision. Ibn Abbas said:
"Strong drink is the product of these two fruits that is forbidden, and the good provision is what is permitted of them.''
According to another report:
"Strong drink is its unlawful, and the goodly provision is its lawful,''
referring to the fruits when they are dried, like dates and raisins, or products derived from them such as molasses, vinegar and wine (of grapes, dates) which are permissible to drink before they become strong (becomes alcoholic), as was stated in the Sunnah.
There is indeed a sign in this for those of reason.
It is appropriate to mention reason here, because it is the noblest feature of man. Hence Allah forbade this Ummah from drinking intoxicants, in order to protect their ability to reason.
Allah says:
And We placed gardens of date palms and grapes in it, and We caused springs of water to gush forth in it. So that they may eat of its fruit - while their hands did not make it. Will they not then give thanks Glory be to Him Who created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. (36:34-36)

PREFACE : ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤi would like to state that i do not acknowledge the name that was formerly attributed to cole cassidy,ㅤ the one most often referred to as "the cowboy's dead / old name." ㅤㅤi don’t believe that the choice made by blizzard provides even the bare minimum in terms of restitution to their employees, ㅤnor do i believe that it takes sufficient measures against that terrible man. ㅤㅤhowever, ㅤi am aware that the former name connotes a recognition that he does not require ; ㅤfor this reason,ㅤ i have refrained from using it at any point in this or any of my pieces regarding this character, ㅤand i have no intention to use it. ㅤㅤin my canon, ㅤCOLE CASSIDY,ㅤwhile not the name he was born with, ㅤis the name he adopts and becomes his most recognizable alias throughout his life. ㅤㅤwith that out of the way, ㅤlet us begin dissecting the many identities of one cowboy.
carlos josé mendoza cárdenas was a boy that came from a joyful and complete home.ㅤㅤ he spent his childhood on his family's ranch, ㅤwhere he was responsible for the care of the sheep and cattle, ㅤrode horses, ㅤmade friends with the farm dogs, ㅤgot into trouble with his siblings, ㅤand received cuddles from his father. ㅤㅤon more than one occasion, ㅤhe slept off while resting his head on his mother's deep blue serape. ㅤㅤup until the age of twelve, ㅤthe sky appeared to be boundless, ㅤand each daybreak heralded a fresh opportunity for him to embark on an exciting new journey. ㅤㅤcarlos cárdenas died alongside his family.
what walked out of that massacre made his way to texas, ㅤand much like the case of many other orphaned children following the crisis,ㅤ no one really paid attention to just another abandoned brown child on the streets.ㅤㅤ soon enough, ㅤhe found himself working in a pork meat plant as a waste collector. ㅤㅤcassidy was the one he decided to go with when he needed a name. ㅤㅤcole came after, ㅤonce he was fired from the pork factory, ㅤwhen he signed theㅤ[ equally phony ]ㅤdocuments required to get a job on the megafarm which he would work a few more years. ㅤㅤcole cassidy emerged through this process as a young man who was rough around the edges yet kind, ㅤwith fire in his eyes and a keen aim. ㅤㅤa sunset chaser, ㅤa leader of a criminal organization, ㅤa firearms dearler. ㅤㅤa rebel without a cause.
a blackwatch agent.
cole developed a remarkable aptitude for performing undercover work as time passed. ㅤㅤthe cowboy was a true chameleon when it came to adopting new identities, ㅤinfiltrating new areas, ㅤand obtaining information from a diverse range of individuals, ㅤdespite what appeared to be his natural inclination for being loud and brash. ㅤㅤin the same way that he was one of the best marksmen on the ground, ㅤgabriel reyes relied on him as his eyes on the field for the purposes of reconnaissance and surveillance.ㅤㅤ this kind of operation certainly required a lot of different fabricated identities, ㅤand for a man who already had to craft himself anew, ㅤit was simple to develop something that held traces of himself but was yet far enough from the baseline to avoid being compromised. ㅤㅤit also gave cole the opportunity to write and perform other stories,ㅤ experience different lives, ㅤand a way for him to get a glimpse into what the small kid who lives inside of him may have grown up to be.
among other names, ㅤcole cassidy is also known as :
JOEL MORRICONE ㅤㅤdenotes himself as a coffee drinker, white hat wearer, and pundit for hire, ㅤwho was born in mexico but raised in the united kingdom. ㅤㅤhe takes a deep interest in both criminal activity and political matters ; ㅤㅤhe maintains his own blog with weekly updatesㅤ[ whenever feasible ],ㅤ and he also contributes columns and thoughts to an independent newspaper.ㅤㅤ joel had been in what seemed to be an endless relationship with bernard baldwin, ㅤa much older baker from los angeles ;ㅤ nevertheless, ㅤafter joel lost his arm, ㅤbernard broke up their relationship. ㅤㅤsingle and recovered from the physical and emotional trauma, ㅤjoel now is doing a significant amount of travelling throughout the world to report on the proliferation of the null sector and many other unsavory activities.
BRUNO LEONE ㅤㅤis a single, ㅤitalian young man. ㅤas a result of his brother enzo's untimely death in vienna while closing his photography studio,ㅤ bruno was unable to complete his education and so never received his diploma.ㅤ bruno was forced to abandon his studies as a result of the impact of the loss of his brother,ㅤ who represented everything he had to offer in the way of a familyㅤ[ mother being an addict who overdosed when they were eighteen, father having walked out when the twins were two ]. ㅤㅤbecause he is now saddled with debt,ㅤ bruno is forced to take odd jobs in order to make ends meet and continue living his life.ㅤㅤa memorable occasion was eight years ago, ㅤwhen bruno was fire from his job as a waiter for mouthing off against his manager ; ㅤhe had only got the job a month prior but had no patience for pushy employers and the snob clientele of the establishment.
MAVERICK LOGANN ㅤㅤis a bounty hunter and contract killer, ㅤand his place of birth is unknown. ㅤㅤa man who appears to care about very little, ㅤif anything at all, ㅤother than the amount of money in his pocket. ㅤㅤas a hired assassin, ㅤit would appear that he specializes in sniper and long - distance kills. ㅤㅤa vicious individual who does not like to have his boundaries tested yet appreciates a job well done when he sees it.
JEROME MCGINNISㅤㅤ is a skilled tradesman who is married to courtney and is a father to a beautiful daughter called alicia.ㅤㅤ a canadian citizen who resides in quebec with his wife and daughter, although the the majority of his time these days is spent away from home due to job obligations.
CARSON REEVES ㅤㅤis a fitness trainer and is currently single.ㅤㅤ grew up in wales as the son of a mexican immigrant mother and a welsh guy for a father.ㅤㅤ his parents got a divorce when he was a child.ㅤㅤ although he never attended college, ㅤhe did participate in badminton and rugby while he was in high school but was never good enough to play professionally.ㅤㅤ possesses a vicious temper and spends entirely too much time on the couch watching television and drinking beer on the weekends.
JEFF WAYNE ㅤㅤis a prominent american socialite. ㅤㅤbecause of the omnic crisis, ㅤjeffrey "jeff" wayne was an orphan and had to go through a number of different foster homes before finally settling down with carmen and reagan wayne. ㅤㅤafterwards, ㅤhe was raised in a life of plenty and luxury by his adoptive parents, ㅤwho provided him with everything but the love and attention he so desperately craved as a child. ㅤㅤmet his girlfriend, ㅤbrianna, ㅤwhile he was in college studying economics and philosophy. ㅤㅤshe passed away in a tragic accident not long ago.
#META.#there it is.#i could elaborate on which situation cole uses each name but i think i am leaving this one as it is.#and they can be later explored individually?#idk. thoughts#but this was also an opportunity to clear up on the name thing and where i stand with it#anyways now i can do adult things like house chores and food <3

Supernatural Season 2 Ep. 3 "Bloodlust"
Sam and Dean meet Gordon, a demon hunter who has been killing vampires in a small town. Dean bonds with the older man. However, after Sam meets the lead vampire and learns they are peaceful, he decides not all supernatural beings are evil. He forces Dean to choose whether he will side with Sam or Gordon.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
A girl runs through the woods, being chased. She falls but gets up and keeps going. She hides behind a tree. She comes out from behind the tree. Nothing there. She turns around and sees someone holding a knife. The hooded person chops off the girl's head.
Dean and Sam are driving in the Impala. Dean says the engine sounds sweet.
Sam says, "If you want to get a room, just let me know, Dean." Dean tells his car not to listen because Sam doesn't understand. Sam says Dean's in a mood. Dean asks why not. He got his car, a case, and things are looking up. Sam says you give Dean a couple of heads and a pile of cows, and he's Mr. Sunshine. Dean laughs and asks how far it is to Red Lodge. Sam says it's about 300 miles.
The sheriff tells the boys the murder investigation is still ongoing. Dean and Sam are in suits again, pretending to work for a paper. Sam asks if he found the last head. The sheriff nods. The other one was found two days ago. A girl comes in and taps her watch. The sheriff says it's time to go. Dean asks one more question. He asks about the cattle that were split open and drained. There were over a dozen cases.
Sam asks if there's a connection. He says the cattle mutilations and severed heads sound ritualistic. "Satanic cult ritual?" Dean says. The sheriff looks at them, then laughs, then realizes they're serious. He says the cattle aren't being mutilated. He says that if a cow drops dead and is left in the sun for 48 hours, it will split open and look clean. He asks them which paper they work for. Dean gets the name wrong, while Sam corrects him. Dean says he's new, but the sheriff doesn't believe him and tells them to leave.
Dean and Sam are in a morgue, in white coats. They go into a room and there's another guy there. Dean says the doctor needs to see him right away. The guy says the doctor's on vacation, but Dean says he's back and angry and waiting for him. The guy leaves, looking worried. Dean asks Sam if the Satanists in Florida marked their victims. Sam says yes, on the forehead. They get a box and tell Sam to open it. Sam won't, and Dean calls him a wuss. He opens it. They don't find a mark on the head in the box.
Dean suggests looking in her mouth to see if the murderer stuffed anything down her throat. Dean doesn't want to and Sam teases him back and asks if he is the wuss. Sam reaches into her mouth. He tells Dean to get him a bucket. Sam hasn't found anything but he's going to puke. Sam pulls his hand out, but Dean saw something. He reaches back in and sees a hole in her gums. Dean presses near it and a fang comes out. "Vampire fangs, really?" he says. This does change things.
Sam and Dean go into a bar and go up to the counter. They order beer and tell him they're looking for someone. They give him money and tell him they moved here six months ago and sleep all day, party all night. We see a man in a corner watching them. The bartender says he's seen noisy drinkers like that and they've come in once or twice. Dean and Sam thank him and leave. The man in the corner is gone.
The boys walk out behind the bar. The man from the bar follows them. He goes around the back of the bar, but they're gone. He turns around, but they're gone. He turns around and Dean and Sam are there. Dean has a knife to his throat. They ask him to show his teeth. He says he's not a vampire. He heard them talking and knows how to kill vampires. He shows them his teeth, and they let him go. He asks who they are.
Later, they are pulling weapons from his car. Gordon tells them that he once met their father, that he is a great hunter and that he recently passed. He knows a lot about their family. Gordon mentions that hunters talk and he guesses there was a lot their dad never told them. Sam asks if the two vampires were his. Gordon replies yes. Dean asks where the nest is, and Gordon says he has it covered. He's been there for two weeks. He found a vampire in Austin and tracked it here. He'll finish it himself. Dean says they can help, but he says he'd rather do it alone. Dean says he wants to hunt, but Gordon still says no. He tells them about a chupacabra and gets in his car. He drives away.
A man is in a mill when he hears something. He gets up and goes outside. He looks around and Gordon is behind him, and they start to fight. The man's teeth come out - he's a vampire. Gordon is soon overpowered, and the vampire puts his head under a saw he turned on and starts to pull it down. Sam pulls Gordon out from under it, and Dean attacks the vampire. He stabs it in the chest and then brings the saw down on its neck, killing it. Gordon offers to buy him a drink.
Sam, Dean, and Gordon are all sitting around. Dean and Gordon are drinking, but Sam isn't. Gordon thanks Dean for killing the vampire. He asks Sam if he's okay. Sam says he's fine. Gordon calls him Sammy and Sam tells him that Dean is the only one who can call him that. Gordon says he didn't mean any offense but was just celebrating. Sam answers that decapitations aren't his idea of fun.
Gordon argues that it wasn't human and he has to have more fun on the job. Dean agrees and Sam could learn from Gordon. Sam answers sarcastically and tells Dean he goes back to the motel. Dean gives him the keys. Gordon worries he said something wrong but Dean reassures him that Sam just gets that way sometimes.
Sam goes to the motel and leaves the keys on the desk.
Dean is telling Gordon about something he killed at sixteen. "I picked up a crossbow. I shot the ugly sucker in the heart with a silver-tipped arrow. Sammy's in the car. My dad and I burned it in the woods. I'm sixteen and sitting by the fire. Kids my age worry about pimples and prom dates. I see things they'll never know. Never. I guess that's when I... " Gordon asks, "Embraced the life?". Dean nods and asks how he got started. Gordon saw his first vampire at eighteen. He says he was home alone with his sister when it came into her room. He got his dad's gun and ran in to get it off her. "Too late. I shot it. That's just as useless as snapping it with a rubber band." He says it threw him across the room and knocked him out. He woke up and the vampire and his sister were gone. He left home, looked for info on how to kill them, and found the vampire. It was Gordon's first kill.
Dean says he's sorry about Gordon's sister. Dean's sorry for Gordon's sister but Gordon just says that it was a long time ago. They talk about Dean's dad. John Winchester took some terrible beatings but never gave up and you think he's indestructible. John is always around and nothing can kill Dean's dad. And then - Dean snaps his fingers and says his dad's gone. He looks at Gordon and mentions that he can't tell Sammy. He can't tell him that he isn't handling it well.
Sam calls Ellen. She says it's good to hear from him and asks if he's okay. He says everything's fine and asks if she knows Gordon Walker. She says she knows him and he's a good hunter. She asks why he's asking. He says they met on a job and they're working together. She says Gordon is dangerous and they should let him handle it.
Gordon and Dean are talking. Gordon says he loves this life because it's simple. There's no maybe. You find the bad thing, you kill it. He says most people spend their lives in shades of gray, but not them. Dean says he's not sure Sam would agree. Gordon says he doesn't think Sam is much like them. Dean looks at him and Gordon says, "We were born to do this. It's in our blood." Dean looks unsure.
Outside the motel, Sam hears something in the bushes and goes back inside. He laughs at himself, puts down his drink, and is attacked from behind. He defends himself until someone hits him over the head with a phone. He's knocked out.
Sam wakes up tied up and gagged. The bag is removed, and he sees the bartender from the bar.
He's a vampire. He starts to attack Sam when a girl says to wait. The vampire pulls back and a girl is standing there. She takes the gag off Sam and says her name is Lenore and she won't hurt him. She wants to talk. Sam says he'll only pay attention to Eli's teeth. Lenore says he won't hurt him and gives him her word. Sam doesn't believe her because she's not the first vampire he's met. Lenore says they're not like the others. They don't kill humans or drink their blood. They haven't for a long time. Sam asks if it's a joke and Lenore answers that he is still alive. Lenore explains they eat cattle blood. It's gross, but it helps them survive. If there's no death or missing locals, there's no reason for people like Sam to look for them. Eli gets mad and says they killed Conrad tonight and they're celebrating. Sam asks why Lenore is talking to him. Lenore confesses she'd rather not, but she knows his kind. They'll keep tracking the vampires. She wants them to stop following them. She says they have a right to live. Sam questions why he should believe her. Lenore lets him go. Sam is taken out of the house blindfolded and they drive him back to the motel.
Dean and Gordon are looking at a map. Gordon shows Dean where he thinks the nest is. Dean checks his watch and wonders where Sam is. Gordon says he probably went for a walk. Suddenly Sam walks in the door. Dean asks him where he's been. Sam asks to talk to him alone. Dean goes outside with him, leaving Gordon inside.
Sam says they have to change their plan. He was at the nest. Dean asks how many he killed. Sam says none and Dean doesn't believe Sam that they let him go. They argue and Sam says he doesn't know where it is because he was blindfolded. He knows they crossed the bridge outside of town. He says they're not like other vampires. Vampires do the cattle mutilations. That's how they live. Dean still doesn't believe him. He says they have to find and kill them. Sam says no. Gordon is outside the door, listening, but they don't see him. Dean says they kill supernatural things because it's their job. Sam says no. Their job is hunting evil, and these things aren't evil. Dean says Gordon has been on the vampires for a year.
Sam tells him that Ellen says Gordon's bad news. Dean makes it clear that he doesn't listen to Ellen. They don't know her well. Sam argues that the same goes for Gordon. Sam then asks Dean if Gordon is a substitute for Dad and Gordon's a poor one. Dean leaves, but Sam follows. Sam confronts Dean about their Dad's death and that he left a hole and that it hurts. He tells him that Dean can't fill that hole with anyone since it's an insult to his memory. Dean punches Sam in the face. Sam says he can hit him, but it won't change anything. Dean says he's going to the nest and will find it himself.
They go back in and find the keys to Dean's car and Gordon's are gone. They go after him by hotwiring the Impala. Sam says the bridge was four and a half minutes from their farm. Dean says he's good.
Lenore is packing. Eli says they have to stay and fight, but Lenore says no. She says there's more where those three came from. She says she's not giving up hope. She says if they can change, then the hunters can change. She tells him to gather the others; they're leaving before sunrise.
Gordon is driving to the nest. Sam and Dean are close behind him.
Lenore is packing the truck. Gordon stabs her in the chest with a knife.
Gordon has tied up Lenore and is cutting her with a knife dipped in dead man's blood. Dean and Sam come in. Gordon says he'll get Lenore to tell him where the others are. He says they can help by grabbing a knife. Dean says to relax. Sam tells Gordon to put the knife down. Gordon says that Sam needs to chill. They are wasting time. Lenore will never walk and Gordon might as well kill her. He pulls out a knife. Sam comes forward, and Gordon points the knife at him. He says the vampire that killed his sister deserved to die. But Gordon tells Dean the vampire didn't kill his sister; it changed her. Gordon killed her. Dean is shocked. Sam realizes that Gordon knew the vampires weren't killing anyone. Gordon says vampires don't change. He grabs Sam's arm and cuts it.
Dean aims a gun at Gordon, but Gordon says he won't kill Sam. He just wants to make a point. He puts Sam's arm over Lenore's mouth, and her vampire fangs come out. Gordon says they're all evil and bloodthirsty. Lenore's fangs retract, and she says no. Sam pushes Gordon away.
He unties Lenore and takes her out. Dean says he and Gordon need to talk. Dean sas he has to go through him to get the vampires. Gordon puts down his knife. Dean puts away his gun. They start to fight. Gordon grabs his knife and comes at Dean, but Dean knocks it out of his hand. Gordon says Dean's like him, a killer. Dean gets the upper hand in the fight. He ties up Gordon and says, "You know, I might be like your, and I might not. But you're the one tied up right now."
It's morning. Sam comes back. Dean is still with Gordon. Sam asks if he missed anything. Dean says no. He'll call someone in a couple days to come untie him. Sam asks if he's ready to go. Dean says not yet. He punches Gordon one more time. Then he says he's ready to go.
Dean says Sam can hit him. Sam can have a free one. Sam answers Dean looks like he just fought a block of cement, and he'll wait. Dean says he wishes they never took the job. Dean says he wonders how many things they've killed that didn't deserve it. "Dad raised us a certain way..." Sam says Dad did the best he could after Mom died. Dean agrees and adds that their Dad wasn't perfect. "He made us hate those things, and I hate them. I do. I killed the vampire at the mill without thinking. I enjoyed it." Sam reminds him that he didn't kill Lenore. Dean tells him that he was going to kill her. Dean was going to kill them all. Sam reminds him again, that Dean didn't and that's what matters. Dean mentions that Sam is a pain in his ass. Sam smiles and starts to get in the car. Dean looks back at the house. Then he gets in the car and they drive off.

Chinese Bone China Tea Set
Chinese Bone China Tea Set: The Fusion of Elegance and Craftsmanship
The Chinese bone china tea set symbolizes luxury and timeless tradition. With its roots in ancient China, this fine tea set has become a beloved household item and a collector’s treasure worldwide. Known for its delicate, lightweight feel and exquisite translucence, bone china represents the height of craftsmanship in Chinese tea culture.
What Is Bone China?
Bone china, while originating in the West, has a strong connection to Chinese porcelain. It’s made by adding bone ash to porcelain clay, resulting in a product that is stronger, more translucent, and more elegant than traditional porcelain. The inclusion of bone ash—typically from cattle bones—gives the china its signature creamy white color and extra strength, making it both delicate in appearance yet durable in use.
In Chinese culture, bone china has been embraced as part of the ongoing evolution of tea ware, blending the artistry of porcelain with Western materials. This hybridization of materials allows for a refined tea experience that reflects both the heritage of Chinese tea ceremonies and the contemporary appeal of bone china.
The Artistry Behind Chinese Bone China Tea Sets
Chinese bone china tea sets are often crafted with intricate designs, ranging from traditional Chinese motifs like dragons and phoenixes to floral patterns that reflect natural beauty. Many tea sets feature hand-painted or gilded accents, adding to their visual appeal and elegance.
The process of making bone china is highly detailed and labor-intensive. Skilled artisans shape the clay, apply delicate glazes, and fire the pieces at high temperatures to ensure they achieve the perfect balance between strength and translucency. Each set can take weeks or even months to create, resulting in a product that is both a functional tea set and a piece of art.
Bone China vs. Porcelain: What’s the Difference?
Though both porcelain and bone china are highly regarded in Chinese tea culture, they differ in a few key ways:
Bone China is lighter and thinner than porcelain, with a unique translucency that allows light to pass through.
Porcelain, while strong, is more opaque and typically thicker, which can give it a more solid and traditional feel.
Bone china tends to be more expensive due to its more complex manufacturing process and the inclusion of bone ash.
When choosing between the two, it often comes down to personal preference: some tea lovers favor the classic sturdiness of porcelain, while others are drawn to the delicate beauty of bone china.
The Perfect Tea Experience
Using a bone china tea set elevates the entire tea experience. Its lightweight nature allows tea drinkers to focus on the flavor and aroma of the tea, rather than the weight of the cup. The smooth, non-porous surface of bone china is also ideal for preserving the purity of fine teas, ensuring that each brew tastes exactly as it should.
For Gongfu-style tea ceremonies, bone china can be used, though it is more commonly associated with formal, leisurely tea settings. The refined appearance of bone china makes it particularly suited for special occasions, offering an aesthetic that enhances the tea-drinking ritual.
Choosing the Right Chinese Bone China Tea Set
When selecting a Chinese bone china tea set, several factors come into play:
Design: Traditional patterns such as blue and white designs, floral motifs, or minimalist modern styles.
Size: Tea sets come in various sizes, from small Gongfu-style sets to larger sets designed for multiple guests.
Durability: While bone china is strong, it’s important to handle these sets with care, especially when cleaning or storing them.
A well-chosen bone china tea set will not only enhance the tea-drinking experience but also serve as a beautiful display piece when not in use.
Why Choose a Chinese Bone China Tea Set?
The combination of beauty, tradition, and craftsmanship makes the Chinese bone china tea set an excellent choice for those who appreciate the art of tea. Whether you're enjoying a quiet moment alone or serving guests, the elegance of bone china adds a sense of ceremony to any tea session.
In conclusion, a Chinese bone china tea set represents both a continuation of Chinese tea culture and a refinement of the tea-drinking experience. It’s a blend of history, artistry, and modern innovation—an essential piece for any tea enthusiast.

More Christians need to take the prophetic writings of Joel more seriously
@bible-news-prophecy-radio
COGwriter
Some observe a memorial to the death of the Prophet Joel on July 13th of each year.
Do you know much about what he was inspired by God to write?
Here is how the Book of Joel starts:
1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. 2 Hear this, you elders, And give ear, all you inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, Or even in the days of your fathers? 3 Tell your children about it, Let your children tell their children, And their children another generation. 4 What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten; And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten. 5 Awake, you drunkards, and weep; And wail, all you drinkers of wine, Because of the new wine, For it has been cut off from your mouth. 6 For a nation has come up against My land, Strong, and without number; His teeth are the teeth of a lion, And he has the fangs of a fierce lion. 7 He has laid waste My vine, And ruined My fig tree; He has stripped it bare and thrown it away; Its branches are made white. 8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth For the husband of her youth. 9 The grain offering and the drink offering Have been cut off from the house of the Lord; The priests mourn, who minister to the Lord. 10 The field is wasted, The land mourns; For the grain is ruined, The new wine is dried up, The oil fails. 11 Be ashamed, you farmers, Wail, you vinedressers, For the wheat and the barley; Because the harvest of the field has perished. 12 The vine has dried up, And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate tree, The palm tree also, And the apple tree — All the trees of the field are withered; Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. 13 Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; Wail, you who minister before the altar; Come, lie all night in sackcloth, You who minister to my God; For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God. 14 Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land Into the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord. 15 Alas for the day! For the day of the Lord is at hand; It shall come as destruction from the Almighty. 16 Is not the food cut off before our eyes, Joy and gladness from the house of our God? 17 The seed shrivels under the clods, Storehouses are in shambles; Barns are broken down, For the grain has withered. 18 How the animals groan! The herds of cattle are restless, Because they have no pasture; Even the flocks of sheep suffer punishment. 19 O Lord, to You I cry out; For fire has devoured the open pastures, And a flame has burned all the trees of the field. 20 The beasts of the field also cry out to You, For the water brooks are dried up, And fire has devoured the open pastures. (Joel 1:1-20)
Here is something that the late Herbert W. Armstrong said about the first chapter of the Book of Joel:
We have had drought. There was the drought in the Middle West in 1934, and then the invasion of bugs and grasshoppers and locusts and everything in 1935. And many people from Kansas and South Dakota and sections in the Middle West like that, and from Oklahoma and places of that sort came out here to the Pacific coast at that time. My friends, that’s only a forerunner, that’s all. But when it comes in its full force and fury it’s described by the prophet Joel, and also Ezekiel says something about it. It’s described in other places in the Bible. Joel says, that it will be a time when the seed shrivels under the clods, the storehouses are desolate; the granaries are ruined because the grain has failed. How the beasts groan, he said, the herds of cattle are perplexed because there is no pasture for them. Even the flocks of sheep are dismayed. (Joel 1:17-18) What’s going to happen when that comes, my friends? What’s going to happen? That is the next thing now to occur. That and the flight of God’s own people…
Alright, now then, I was mentioning what Joel says here about this time of famine that’s coming. You’ve had a foretaste of it, you’ve been getting it — that’s only just little driplings like a great downpour of a deluge, a cloud burst that is going to come and you’ve had a few sprinklings of rain. Just a few little sprinkle drops; that’s all. Well, you people that have been getting these dust storms and all this drought that you’ve had, all you’ve had is just a little sprinkling. I want to tell you there’s a cloudburst of famine coming only it won’t be a cloudburst; it’s just the opposite. It’ll be a cloudburst of sun and no rain. Now, here is what we read in Joel again, there’s no pasture for these cattle. Even the flocks of sheep are dismayed. They haven’t minds to think it out or reason about it or anything they’re just going to be — you know their minds are so constructed; God did the thinking and created what brain they have and put it in there that it makes them automatically eat and they know they should eat grass. They should eat the pasture, and here there won’t be any. And they won’t understand it.
Joel 1: 19-20 “…Unto thee, O LORD, I cry: for fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness,” [That’s the fire of the sun and hot days and the weather will be such it’ll just seem like a fire.] “…and flame…” [the very flame of the sun.] “…has burned all the trees of the field…” What are you going to do when there’s no pasture for your cattle, or for your sheep, or your hogs. And, some of you will know what I mean anyhow. And when the trees are burned up. And there’s no fruit. And your vines will be dried up and there’ll be no fruit on vines.
Joel 1:20 “Even the beasts of the field cry to thee because the water brooks are dried up,…” [Your rivers will be dried up, your river beds.] “…and fire…” [that is the fire of the heat of the sun] “…has devoured the pastures of the wilderness…” (RSV) (Armstrong HW. Outline of Prophecy 02 – Famine, Pestilence and Drought. Radio Broadcast)
Famine will come. It may be that the drought that many parts of the USA are experiencing could be a prelude to that.
Here is something from Joel chapter 2:
12 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” 13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. 14 Who knows if He will turn and relent, And leave a blessing behind Him — A grain offering and a drink offering For the Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; 16 Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. 17 Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?'” (Joel 2:12-17)
Repentance is something that Joel proclaimed was needed and that is still the case today. Notice that he was saying that all, including the religious who felt that they were God’s people, needed to repent and gather together. That gathering together is something that the Philadelphians need to do in this end time–those who do not gather together soon enough, risk not being protected from the Day of the Lord, etc. (cf. Zephaniah 2:1-3).
Here are some comments from Herbert Armstrong on Joel 2:12-17:
Joel 2: 12-14 “Yet even now, says the LORD…” [through Joel,] “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning: (13) And rend your hearts, and not your garments. Return unto the [Eternal] your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love…. (14) Who knows whether he will not turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, a cereal offering and a drink offering…” [and so on?] Joel 2:17 “With a cry out, “Spare thy people, O [Eternal] make not thine heritage…” [our nation, our people] “… a reproach, a byword among the nations.”(RSV) (Armstrong HW. Outline of Prophecy 02 – Famine, Pestilence and Drought. Radio Broadcast)
Here is some more of what Joel wrote in chapter 2:
28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. (Joel 2:28-31)
According to the Apostle Peter, there was a partial fulfillment of this (Acts 2:16) on the Day of Pentecost c. 31 A.D. (Acts 2:1).
But verses such as verse 31 will not be fulfilled until after the start of the Great Tribulation, it is logical to conclude that God would still use dreams to sometimes convey parts of His message prior to the start of the Great Tribulation.
The late Pastor General of the old Worldwide Church of God (WCG), Herbert W. Armstrong, basically said so in a 1981 sermon (scripture is from the KJV):
All right, now there’s another prophecy for the people …
Joel 2:28-29 And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: (29) And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
So there is a time coming when God will start pouring out His spirit on human beings. … Day of Pentecost, 3000 were baptized. Peter preached a sermon. They were pricked in their hearts. God began to draw them. God was now… Remember He said, “I will pour out of my spirit on all flesh.” All right, there’s a duality of that. (Armstrong HW. Building The Temple. Sermon, February 14, 1981)
Herbert W. Armstrong was correct about the time coming when God would pour out His Spirit as well as the duality (see also Does the CCOG have the confirmed signs of Acts 2:17-18?). There was a duality to what Peter preached in Acts 2–and that duality is for our current time!
Perhaps it should also be mentioned that the Personal Correspondence Department in the old WCG sent out a letter on dreams and stated the Bible showed that future dreams from God to His people were expected. It then had a date change added to it and here is a quote from that one:
Thank you for your question concerning visions or dreams. The Bible reveals that in times past servants of God were given visions and dreams for specific reasons and/or to convey special messages. …God has used this means of communication in the past and will do so again (Acts 2:17; Joel 2:28) (L052 Worldwide Church of God, 1989)
As the WCG did not publicly acknowledge any such dreams after that letter was sent, the interpretation must be that God would later use dreams (it should be mentioned that the original date of L052 was prior to 1986–hence it was not a change by the Tkach Administration).
Consider also something that Herbert W. Armstrong wrote:
This very WORK OF GOD for our day is foretold in the prophecy of Revelation 3:7-13. But there it is revealed that we, today, are a people of but little strength – little power (verse 8)! – within ourselves though we have faithfully KEPT GOD’S WORD! The impact of this WORK OF GOD today is going out only through the power of God! Are you having your part in this very WORK OF GOD? But – let’s face it! – WE DO NOT HAVE WITHIN OURSELVES, AS GOD’S INSTRUMENTS FOR HIS WORK TODAY, ANYWHERE NEAR THE POWER OF GOD THAT ACTIVATED THAT ORIGINAL FIRST-CENTURY CHURCH! For that very reason, the living Christ says (verse 8), He has opened to us the gigantic door of MASS COMMUNICATION! The magnified power of the microphone and the printing press. Yet that is only physical, mechanical power! The REAL POWER that makes God’s Work vital and alive is the Holy Spirit of God! (Armstrong HW. Christians Have Lost Their POWER! Plain Truth, Jun 1958).
The Greek word translated as strength, dunamis, which HWA refers to as power, is the same Greek word that is normally translated as ‘miracle’ or ‘miracles’. Thus, Revelation 3:8 shows that the Philadelphia Church will have some type of miracles, and although I agree with HWA’s position that the initial power/miracle had to do with electronic media, I also agree with him that the old WCG did not have, “ANYWHERE NEAR THE POWER OF GOD THAT ACTIVATED THAT ORIGINAL FIRST-CENTURY CHURCH.” Thus, HWA acknowledged, howbeit indirectly, that the power of God had not been fully restored to the church in his time. And it should be noted that dreams and gifts of prophecy were given to the first-century church (Acts 2:17-18) and thus, according to his own writing, there should be these type of occurrences at the end. One group in the 21st century has that (see also How To Determine If Someone is a True Prophet of God).
As it turns out, dreams had been given to several people who later became part of the Continuing Church of God which were essentially fulfilled (see Dreams, the Bible, and the Continuing Church of God).
Yet, most people (including Christians) discount that, despite God inspiring Joel to write about it and the Apostle Peter to preach about it.
Laodicean Christians think they are great judges, but sadly do not believe that God has been using dreams in this century.
They do not seem willing to accept those prophecies God gave to Joel. Most do not know the biblical differences between true and false leaders or the signs that GOD says He uses.
Parts of Joel’s message have been at least partially fulfilled and the fulfillment of other parts will come to pass.
