dumb but important question, did you by any chance have an eadter lily or any bulb flower in the house recently??

no, the only flowers we have are the ones we've always had in the patio and are catsafe. I've been thinking about potential new allergens and couldn't find anything :/ the vet suggested she might have gotten cold, or this was a symptom of another condition, we won't know until we get a radiography/blood work on Monday. but she's doing much better now! woke up early to check on her and she's purring and eating her food :)
