I like to headcanon that Melog is just the biggest busybody. It's been bored and alone on a dead planet for decades with no one to talk to, the mundane day to day drama of other people is such a novelty to it, it can't get enough. Plus it can become invisible and doesn't have a great grasp of privacy so it's forever listening in on conversations and generally getting way too invested in everyone's personal business.

Which means Catra, to her vast dismay, knows everyone's secrets. She would really REALLY rather not and has tried to teach Melog about boundaries but the creature does what it wants. But it means that sometimes she finds out about some misunderstanding or missed connection going on that is so downright stupid that it's just going to drive her nuts if she lets it continue so she begrudgingly has to insert herself into this drama to match-make or clear up an argument literally just so she doesn't have to hear about it anymore.

Which means, to her absolute horror she gets this reputation of being near psychic, so good at resolving personal drama that people come to her with their problems no matter how she tries to deter them and meanwhile it's really because Tealog over here is addicted to gossip.

Catra being anxious and having panic attacks over the bad things she did is actually counter productive to any hypothetical scenario where she is self reflecting and/or receiving constructive criticism.

Her potentially having crippling anxiety over being an asshole in the past PREVENTS and/or DELAYS any changes she might potentially make.

Making this character spiral over moral dilemmas does not inherently mean she’s actively working to change her ways. Her being afraid of facing her badness does not make her good; it simply means she has anxieties toward constructive criticism/dialogue.

Had a dream last night that an Indiana Jones-esque adventure was happening to Scorpia and Catra. They were going to fallen cities and bringing them back to life. The people weren't dead for some reason. Anyway Catra was getting frustrated they weren't finding any magikats bc she wanted to know her history or whatever and they'd just learned of a ship of them that had been downed years ago and were racing each other to get to it when I woke up. Also they were dating.

kind of funny how when people discuss adora's flaws and how she harms people around her bc of those flaws, people will say that it's an unfair assessment of her character since most of her worst qualities stem from shadow weaver's manipulation and her abuse. but then refuse to extend even some of the same understanding to catra

Glimmer would tease with a knowing look, “So when are you gonna catch some baby fever, huh?” “Disgusting.” Catra would sneer, always grateful it sounded like a joke. “Aww, but you’re so good with them!” Bow would counter. And she’d smile, maybe flutter her lashes to get a laugh. If they took it as a joke it meant she could say it honestly, “I’m too beautiful for jail.”

On Prime's ship.

Catra's fighting Hordak.

Adora tried attacking Hordak herself, but he deflected her attack back at her, leaving her incapacitated. She can only listen in horror as she realizes Catra isn't in control, that Prime is using her via the chip to kill Hordak, crushing the life out of him at the expense of Catra herself.

Catra struggles against the control and cries out in pain, but Prime doesn't stop.

It's too much! Prime's hurting Catra!

Adora fights to get back on her feet, calling for Prime to stop.

…except then you go online and see people talking over and over about how this scene is out of character and bad writing and Adora is a bad person for telling Prime to stop hurting Catra in that moment and not focusing on poor Hordak.

And you're sitting there utterly bewildered because what??? Obviously Adora's first priority would be the woman she loves and not the enemy that just attacked her? OF COURSE, she'd care more about Catra than Hordak, are you dense???

Anyway, that's how it feels every time we have this same conversation about that scene in Moment of Truth.

it's just hilarious to me how adoras type is clearly strong women that could easily lift her like she weighs nothing or fairly beat her up without struggling much and then she ends up with this angry wet cat, that couldn't get out from under a piece of metal, which the skinny lizard in heels could lift without trying really hard and uses biting people as a fighting technique
