Catman's attraction is such an interesting thing because, if you analyse it, he can be read as being in the aroace spectrum very easily, even though I don't think that's what's happening.

He was clearly attracted to Cheshire but his only move was sitting next to her. That wasn't even out of his own volition, he wanted to be somewhere else, but Parademon threatened to eat his throat if he didn't let Ragdoll sit there. Obviously he still chose to sit next to her specifically, but that's not quite a good flirting technique.

I obviously can't talk about Gail Simone's writing of Cheshire without mentioning orientalism. Cheshire in villains united and secret six is the final boss of the Asian baby mama trope. It could be that Thomas' apparent disinterested is simply orientalism on Simone's part, and I can't deny that most of their relationship is based on the harmful tropes surrounding Jade as an asian woman.

Looking at it from a simple character perspective: it seems that Thomas is just really uncomfortable with flirting.

However:

He immediately jumps on Helena Bertinelli. It's so uncharacteristic of him to do that that Scandal comments on it as "rather foward".

My interpretation is that Thomas is so deep in the naturalist connected to nature and the lions thing that he sees sexual desire as something that can be easily ignored, but the moment he finds someone romantically interesting he beelines for them. He basically proposed to Helena in this issue and, while that's a very relatable thing as Helena Bertinelli is a badass, it's not exactly something you just do.

All this to say that, while I don't personally think that Catman is in the aroace spectrum, I think he represses sexual desire until the subject to his attraction makes themself available. Even when posing the argument that trying to sleep with Jade in the situation they were in was a bad idea, trying to date Huntress, a known hero, while the Six and the BoP actively fought one another was also Not Ideal.

Recently Thomas and Minhkhoa Khan had a thing in 2023's DC pride special. This relationship puts a damn wrench in my theory but I have an idea. Thomas isn't as insane about Khoa as he was about Helena (I mean he wasn't spewing the "we'll be together til the sky falls apart" bs on him), but he's not cold and distant like he was with Cheshire either.

He very much flirts with Khoa, which could mean nothing but:

"Wanna cuddle?" When this is how he acts with Jade

This funnily enough makes Thomas one of the few characters in DC to be explicitly and undeniably cisgender

He desperately (and I do mean desperately) chases people he's romantically interested him. He doesn't turn down sex but he doesn't seek it out. Romance, on the other hand, he actively seeks out when someone is interesting to him, whether or not they initiate flirting or not is irrelevant when he wants to date somebody.

I do think he's romantically interested in Ghost-Maker but that this was a more recent development rather than something they started out on. Obviously there's literally nothing about their relationship out there other than a single panel in a Christmas special where they're apparently on a date, so this is just me being crazy about Catman and overanalyzing every little aspect of his character.

I should make one of those about his relationship with Floyd, that would be fun

Here's the warrior cats story I'm making that'll probably never see the light of day but perhaps. maybe. I've been using the Clangen Catmaker so shoutout to those guys :) Also a lot of the cats' characteristics will be in Clangen terms but they won't be hard to understand. Regular Clangen Clangen Catmaker (not sure if they have their own server yet) These are gonna be badly cropped, please bear with me.

Alright so it all starts with this guy dying, (Snowfoot, insecure, he/she).

Her kits are, (understandably) really sad and Owlkit gets scared that she's next. Emberkit and Reedkit try to reassure their littermate that no one's gonna get her but they get more invested in knowing what happened to their dad in the process.

These three kits hatch a plan to find out what happened to Snowfoot. They gotta keep it a secret from everyone else! Older cats would keep a bigger eye on them and stop them from sneaking out of the camp. Other kits could tell on them too!

without spoiling too much, moon 29 features the appearance of falconshine's first litter. there are 4 kits in this litter, and none of them have designs or names, but they are extremely important to falconshine's backstory. so, i'm giving you guys the chance to design these kits! note that these kits ARE all deceased/ghosts.

the sire of this litter was a red and white mackerel tabby with blue/yellow heterochromia. the genetics of the kits won't be completely accurate as i cannot generate them in game, but here is roughly the limits of what each kit can be when coupled with falconshine's genetics:

♂ kits can be: solid black, solid blue, brown tabby, blue tabby, red tabby, or cream tabby, either mackerel or classic/blotched ♀ kits can be: tortie, blue tortie, torbie, blue torbie, red tabby, or cream tabby, either mackerel or classic/blotched ALL kits must have some level of white. eye colors should be somewhere in the yellow-green-blue range and can be heterochromatic. pelt length must be short, tail and ears must be normal. none of the fancy stuff like caramel, bleaching, karpati, lykoi, etc. paralysis and chimeras are allowed.

please create your kits using the official genemod catmaker, and post either post your images in the discord or submit them to this account + a name if you wish (these kits were NOT clan cats, so they should not have clan names). you can make as many as you want, but only one can be selected from each person. there will be 4 winning designs. go nuts and ask questions if you have them :3

sorry to ask this because i'm sure you've probably mentioned it/been asked before but I just found this blog and did you use the catmakers for some cats? or were you just like. super lucky with fun coats lol. love the designs here

For the characters shown do far (exept Marigoldheart as she was originally a non clangen oc) they were all generated naturally through the game!

That being said I have messed around with the looks of some future characters that show up... mostly because the game kept making gray cats with similar coat patterns and colors and I needed freedom from the gray cat curse lol

Queens are replacement for in-game mistresses, they're not nursing mothers. They're instead like mothers of the whole clan. There are also queen apprentices that can only be of queen blood. They get -sight names until they become full queens (leaders) and get -star.

Moonspire - Polyhedron (the kits call it the playden), Bullplace - Abattoir, Hollowpool - Cathedral

Polyhedron is made of ice that doesn't melt, Abattoir is made of that kinda ancient brown dusty ice that has diseases in it, Cathedral is a bunch of tall sticks and a puddle (melted ice) (fail)

Herb mates are also another cat class only special kin cats can be apprenticed to. They have -dancer names.

The powers that be are Starclan. Aka the giant kids. No idea how that explains them being like a literal government. Maybe everyone is super religious. I mean maybe god is real. Warrior cats

Daniil was a kittypet that lived in a veterinarian clinic

Rubin was unofficially apprenticed by Isidor, never got the -heart name.

The guardian cats are also in this au. A clan full of medicine cats. This is the place where Daniil lived and Artemy studied, but they didn’t know each other (Capital basically)

The Stamatins are former kittypets and den builders that used to live with the guardian cats.

The army is also another faraway clan that is full of warriors that fight by the orders of Starclan whether they like it or not

There are two catmakers - one was made by one of our senior contributors, Key, while the other was made by a member of the community! We do not currently have plans to bundle either into the game, as it kinda falls outside the whole "random generator" thing haha
