Here are a few things I've learned over the years looking for jobs:
LinkedIn can help you find more serious job offers given many companies post jobs there. You can search for your ideal place of employment this way and find related companies in that field if there aren't any opportunities available. Many companies also ask for your LinkedIn profile, so having a nice profile can improve your chances of getting hired
Indeed and Glassdoor are mostly aggregate compilations of 3rd party recruiter submissions. There are many other sites that even cater to remote work. Do your research and check all links with VirusTotal if you feel the need to be cautious with an unknown site. If still unsure, research " [website] safe reddit"
Research ex/current employee stories of the company/position. This'll give you a good idea of whether you feel this position will be a good fit for you
If in doubt, always go to the company's Career/Job section on their website because the offer found on a 3rd party site may not be listed or accurate
Send out 2-3 applications per day with a catered resume and cover letter for each, only including information related to the job posting (mirror their qualifications but don't lie). You can use Google Suite to find a template to use for free. Just make sure you cater each resume/cover letter for each job that requires it
My method is 1 application for an ideal/possibly under qualified job (i.e. dream job/really good job vibes) and 1-2 realistic jobs (i.e. retail, food service, entry level stuff, etc). This is mostly if you're in dire need of work and need something to tie you over until something better comes through
Don't be afraid to apply to jobs you're under qualified for! Some companies may overlook certain requirements if you have unconventional experience that relates to the position. Just be ready to answer questions about this experience and be sure to relate it to the position in question. Experience is often an acceptable replacement for lack of a degree
Have a clear idea of where you see yourself in the next 5-10 years. If the field you're applying to doesn't align with your goals, either be sure to factor that into your search or research what positions yield mobility towards your end goal. If you're building your own business, don't shy away from doing something you don't want to do. Remember why you're doing it and that the job won't be permanent. It'll provide you with solid life skills that you can apply to your business or future endeavors
I could always go on, but that's really all I got for now. Feel free to drop any advice you've learned to help those entering the workforce :)

Part 3 of rating Good Omens characters based on whether I would employ them in my IRL cafe
Part One Part Two
I'm eventually going to run out of characters that I can find GIFS for, in the meantime, let's keep this going.
Newt Pulsifer
That's a firm no. He doesn't come with any references whatsoever, and when he emailed his resume my laptop crashed.
Brian
He has a trial for a few shifts but he's just too sloppy with keeping the kitchen clean; he leaves spills everywhere and doesn't clean them up, causing a food safety hazard. We will get him in for the occasional weekend service as an extra when we are really desperate, because he has a good rapport and service manner with the customers.
Ennon
He got a job but was fired within a week for being an entitled brat. However, we let his sister Jemima set up a stall selling her ceramics out the front during the school holidays, and we provide her all the free milkshakes she wants.
Hastur
I feel like putting Hastur anywhere near food would be a health violation.
Ligur
I have mixed feelings about Ligur. Part of me feels like he might sell illicit drugs out of the back door, and half of me thinks he'd be a very focused and useful chef. It's 50/50 on this one.
Saraquel
We don't have the set up to cater to Saraquel's mobility needs as an employee in our rabbit warren of a kitchen space, and that's on us. She would make a great employee and we are missing out by not providing a more diversity-friendly workplace.
Sister Mary Loquacious
Um, no. Doesn't feel like a good idea. But I'd hire her after her character arc into Mary Hodges, that woman has business acumen. We might go to a paintball training event she runs.
Warlock dowling
He and Ennon had one shift together and it was totally disastrous to us, they are both no longer working with us but are best friends now.
Uriel
I can imagine Uriel with big Chef Knife tattoos and tattoos of botanical drawings of heirloom vegetables all up her arms. She's a gun cook and we put her on the busiest shifts. She fails to talk to anyone because clearly none of us are worthy.
War
Nah, she's one of the bikers that come in and get a big brekkie on the weekend in the middle of their bike trip up the mountain.

2024-09-15: Episode 15 (Stadium Tour)
Original airdate October 7, 1992
Episode Synopsis
After some brave whistleblowers and activists stood up to Boris Ozonevich and SynCorp, Ozonevich and SynCorp lost out on a lucrative business contract. In retaliation, Boris Ozonevich and his minions modified the Fresno football stadium (Go Falcons!) overnight to turn it into a mobile fortress. The stadium has been outfitted with a bunch of telescoping legs, each about 3 stories high when fully extended, so that it can rampage through the city and destroy buildings while blasting 2 Unlimited's "Get Ready For This" over the stadium speakers until his demands for a renegotiated contract have been met. The gang must spring into action to sabotage the stadium and bring Boris to justice, but the stadium is full of Boris's minions (many of whom are dressed in absurd sports mascot uniforms to add an air of unpredictability to the fight, so they have silly but effective mascot skills like dodging and sliding).
Episode Sponsor: 1-800-HINT-GUY
When you're stuck on a level in the newest video game, call 1-800-HINT-GUY to get help! Unfortunately for parents everywhere, this was not a free service. It relied on children calling the number and parents finding out about the call on the next phone bill. Calls were billed at 50 cents a minute, and an avid game renter might rack up quite a hefty phone bill for their parents if they asked for help too often. Because of this predatory marketing, commercials for the service were pulled after a little more than two years after pressure from parent lobbying groups.
Notable Episode Feature: Sushi Center (Location)
On the highest level of the stadium is the press box, and that's where Boris is commanding the stadium from. It's an enclosed area that is located next to (and only accessible through) a small food court that produces catered sushi. It's called Sushi Center, and the sushi chef (Yamamoto-san) is the miniboss of the area; he knows karate, has a sword he uses to cut up the sushi, and also controls pufferfish poison. However, Sushi Center also has several tactical features that the gang might find useful: woks that can be used as shields, gas ovens that can spray fire, and a freezer filled with huge blocks of ice that can be broken to create temporary difficult terrain or used as slippery sleds to make combat more dynamic.

June 28, 2013
"I would like to thank everyone for coming out tonight."
Light Applause.
She spoke for Derek in this space, of course, and no one invited knew why. There were a few confused murmurs.
They expected Derek to lead this party, despite her prominent position as one of the bosses in the space. His name was on the announcement they had received. His table and place setting was strangely empty, despite a carafe filled with ice water.
She had drink in hand that was the price of a layman's yearly salary or a body on the market for a single bottle. The silver foil and melted wax seal on each bottle marked the vintage for a celebration. The Quad Tower conference hall was perfectly dressed for the occasion, small mobile catering robots moving trays of rich food through the space with quiet hums in the background.
"Now," she had said, "-we celebrate the end of one of the most lucrative seasons as a company."
More light applause. Medical management and insurance was one of several cash cows the Quad Tower was responsible for housing, one feeding into the other. Carla smiled, carrying the drink while her earpiece magnified a quiet laugh that was echoed by several others.
There were plenty of people here, blurring together.
"We are like family here," she said, quiet and placid, "- and I have some acknowledgements to make-" crinkles magnified over the mic as she picked a folio off of the speaking podium and licked the tips of her fingers to peel through the first page. A list of names that had sold her out. A list of names that knew, and did nothing.
"Firstly, for true behavioral impotence in managing company money, Raushan Bell."
The clapping had begun as she finished the statement to clap alongside her peers. The words she spoke were processed slowly, people looking at each other with confusion and some frowning. The aforementioned fellow, a huge proponent of Project Ada, and a man she had sat a few feet from her blinked like a fish.
He'd been one of her biggest cheerleaders. He'd helped her connect with the contracting service necessary to invest time in underwater structures. He'd found her just as appealing as Derek did.
Carla passed a slip of paper to one of the migrating gliding robot tables, which began to slide over the floor on its wheels to deliver the letter.
"Secondly, for a spectacular job keeping all parties involved with our ever climbing accomplishments, out of hanging in a jail cell, Alex Pun-Jiao."
A man that knew how to make people disappear now was at the center of attention, his colleagues and friends turning their eyes to him. They stared at him, a man who had put himself into a fine suit for the occasion, his brow furrowing. They had never gotten along.
There was some clapping in the quiet, perplexed and unsure. She kept smiling.
"Thirdly, for your investment into delivering our promises of a better world, Derek C. Simmons, without whom this entire operation would have not been possible."
She raised her glass, walking back to the podium away from the main dining space to collect two more folios to deliver to the various tables. The catering drones hummed and slowly rolled over the floor.
"And there are so many others who I could acknowledge for doing spectacular things, but I won't waste your time or mine. So, please join me in a toast."
There was unease. A cough in the absence of a lot of movement. Shakily, the people that had worked under her, or beside her for years took their glasses or sat murmuring to the ones that did.
"To the world that you have built in your efforts."
A choral of weak agreements.
Alex stood and pointedly asked "what is this about?!"
Carla drank her glass of wine in several audible gulps, and pressed a button on her comm cube.
And the sudden crack of explosives cut any other sound out.
They had been working on prototype mobile explosives, a drone.
From the distance she was she was perfectly fine. What wasn't rendered into human detritus was left clinging to life and agonized in pieces. Fire began to eat at the floor, the walls of the space.
She took the neck of her empty glass and tossed it gently forward into the remains of Derek's empty table. People already half dead moaned, and screamed.
"What a mess."
From a small clutch on her person she produced a small steel ball, and with one quick pitch, tossed it into the dying crowd that remained.

The place was unique in the fact it was a buffet that catered to any and all tastes. It seemed, at some points, to be able to make food beyond this current universe too but who could say for sure. The vast dining hall was filled with the scents of food and the sounds of gluttonous eating and chatter. It was a welcoming place where someone like Hannah could easily be herself too. No-one looked or stared, no-one made a comment about her size. Here she was the average. Not everywhere was so accepting of such a grand size.
"Only recently learned about feedism, huh?" The short yet thick girl said, looking at Hannah as she settled at the table too, getting comfy in her seat with a little wiggle. "I am almost curious to ask what started getting you fat!"
She chuckled and waved her hand, suggesting she wasn't going to ask that right now. Instead, Hannah had asked about her. While true that Lizzie was not someone who thought herself to be much of anything, an earnest question got earnest answers.
"Me, huh? Well, I'm Lizzie. I'm an Engineer-slash-inventor by trade. I did some military service when I was younger as well as apprenticed under some Engineers. Though, these days I work on my own projects. Mainly the mobility aides, such as the one you are using. I make them from scratch, drafting and blueprinting before making. I have a small team that helps me out too though!"
Basically, former military, runs her own business, is pretty smart and a bit of a savant when it comes to her field of tech.
"Umm... Oh, I'm not great at cooking and I have a bit of a bad habit getting too engrossed in my work at times. Pretty good at social... things though I would say I am more... introvert than extrovert. More likely to spend a night in watching TV than go out somewhere if I have time free. Oh yeah... I am new to dating too! I think I might of mentioned that in our online chats? And yeah... I guess that's sorta... me? If that helps you get to know a bit about who this short girl who took you to a buffet is!"
Hannah took all of that in as she listened closely to what Lizzie was explaining, nodding along as she took it in. She liked that she was former military, it gave them another thing in common, someone who would understand the experiences and all the work that went into all the various branches of it.
"Thank you, that does tell me a lot. I'm glad you're a fellow career military one like me, though different branches. Civilians can't always get their heads around some aspects of our jobs. But I'm glad you were able to put those skills to use in your own business. I doubt I'll do anything else after I eventually retire, but I'm trying to put that off for as long as I can." She said, smiling back at Lizzie.
"Though, you asked what started me off with...all this." She gestured to her enormous form, patting her belly gently. "Well, it was a combination of things. Firstly, the Alliance started to wind down my active service role after the Reaper War, which meant I could spend more time with my little girl. If you've heard of Commander Shepard, that's her. I spent as much time as I could with her to help her recover. When I had to go back, I kept in touch whenever I could. She admitted that she was letting herself go a little, enjoying civilian life and not worrying about stuff, which I was fully behind her doing." She began to explain.
"I had been put on light duties, it got me thinking about things like that. If I was essentially just doing basic escorts and patrol's on my ship, despite it being a Dreadnought, I could probably get away with letting myself slip a little. Well, come my next visit to see Jennifer, she had really, really grown. Only reasons she wasn't needing a chair like this was because of her synthetic muscles and spine, and a little bit of anti-gravity tech from her friend Tali. But she was still able to do so much, enjoy her life at that size. That sort of clicked something in me. Then her sweet AI friend, EDI, approached me. She was... certainly quite the sight to behold, makes a lady feel a little inadequate in some ways." She giggled softly, blushing to herself.
"She offered me a copy of herself to help me experience what Jennifer did. This...Mommy Bot, she called it, started to cook all my meals personally, taking care of boring admin work in the blink of an eye, leaving me able to relax and enjoy all the food she made for me. A very doting servant. Soon, more of them appeared on the ship, taking the load off of my crew too to help relieve any stress on them. My ship became more like a cruise liner for Alliance personnel...and that's what led to me getting this big. But now, thanks to you, I can experience so much. I have this, I can go places now. And... hopefully I have you..." She said, smiling brightly, now she'd laid her fattening backstory bare.

The Benefits Of Owning A Reefer Van For Mobile Business Owners
For mobile business owners, especially those dealing with the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods, owning a reefer van offers a multitude of benefits. These versatile vehicles equipped with refrigeration units are designed to maintain specific temperature conditions, making them indispensable for various industries. Here's a comprehensive look at the advantages of owning a reefer van for mobile business operations.
Temperature-Controlled Transportation: The primary advantage of owning a reefer van is its ability to transport goods that require specific temperature conditions. Whether it's fresh produce, pharmaceuticals, floral arrangements, or any other temperature-sensitive items, a reefer van provides a controlled environment to preserve the integrity and freshness of the cargo throughout the journey.
Versatility Across Industries: Reefer vans cater to a wide range of industries, making them versatile for diverse business operations. From food distribution and pharmaceutical transport to catering services and floral deliveries, the flexibility of a reefer van makes it an ideal choice for businesses with varying temperature control needs.
Extended Shelf Life of Perishables: For businesses dealing with perishable goods, a reefer van becomes an essential asset. The controlled temperature environment helps extend the shelf life of perishable items, reducing the risk of spoilage, wastage, and financial losses. This, in turn, allows businesses to maintain product quality and meet customer expectations.
Expanded Market Reach: Owning a reefer van enables mobile business owners to expand their market reach. With the ability to transport temperature-sensitive goods over longer distances, businesses can reach new customers and explore untapped markets. This expanded reach can contribute to business growth and increased revenue opportunities.
Customization for Specific Needs: Reefer vans can be customized to meet specific business requirements. Custom shelving, racks, and compartments can be installed to optimize cargo space and facilitate efficient loading and unloading. Businesses can tailor the interior layout to accommodate their unique products, ensuring maximum utilization of space and organized transportation.
Brand Visibility and Marketing: A branded reefer van serves as a moving advertisement for your business. With customizable exterior designs, businesses can incorporate branding elements, logos, and contact information. This not only enhances brand visibility but also contributes to a professional and cohesive brand image. The distinctive appearance of a branded reefer van can attract attention and leave a lasting impression on potential customers.
Efficient Operational Processes: Reefer vans streamline operational processes by providing a dedicated and reliable means of transporting temperature-sensitive goods. Businesses can establish efficient routes, schedule deliveries with precision, and optimize overall logistics. The reliability of a reefer van contributes to consistent and timely deliveries, fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Compliance with Regulations: In industries where adherence to regulations is crucial, owning a reefer van ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. Whether it's maintaining specific temperatures for food safety or adhering to pharmaceutical storage guidelines, a reefer van provides businesses with the tools to meet industry regulations and build trust with customers.
Reduced Dependency on Third-Party Services: Owning a reefer van reduces dependency on third-party transportation services. Businesses gain more control over their logistics, schedules, and the condition of transported goods. This independence can lead to cost savings, increased operational efficiency, and the ability to tailor transportation services to suit the unique needs of the business.
Cost-Effective Investment in the Long Run: While the initial investment in a reefer van may seem substantial, the long-term benefits often outweigh the costs. Businesses can avoid recurring rental expenses, reduce the risk of product losses due to inadequate transportation, and improve overall cost-effectiveness. The durability and reliability of a well-maintained reefer van contribute to its longevity, making it a sound investment for the future.
In conclusion, owning a reefer van is a strategic choice for mobile business owners dealing with temperature-sensitive goods. The advantages of temperature-controlled transportation, versatility across industries, the extended shelf life of perishables, expanded market reach, customization options, brand visibility, efficient operational processes, compliance with regulations, reduced dependency on third-party services, and long-term cost-effectiveness make the reefer van a valuable asset for businesses aiming for growth, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

The Seattle Mariners, along with Hatback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley, welcome you to Victory Hall.
image of Victory Hall, courtesy the Seattle Mariners
Located just minutes from the T-Mobile Park, Hatchback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley invite you to visit Victory Hall. Opening on Opening Day celebrating the start of the Seattle Mariners’ 2023 season, Victory Hall is your launchpad or home base for Seattle sports.
Opening at 3 pm, March 30th, fans and visitors will be nourished by two full-service bars, with 20 beers on draft all from the comfort of a 21 and over, exclusive indoor beer garden. During your visit, you’ll be serenaded by Deejay Hershe with the backdrop of baseball (or other sporting events) projected against a 20’ x 11’ TV. Course, for those who wish to roam you’ll catch up on the game, teams around the country, from five 100-inch flat screens throughout the space.
Whether you're transcending between the indoor beer garden or the 1,200 square-foot outdoor patio, a breathtaking folding glass door greets you.
For those assuming this space is exclusive for the Seattle Mariners, the managers and staff have confirmed this will be an official bar for the Seahawks, Sounder, along with the Mariners. But like any sports watching destination, the televised games will change each day, with schedules posted on the Victory Hall website.
For those looking for an early start on Opening Day, look to the adjacent Hatback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley, which will be open at 11am.
While you’re there, check out Opening Day food trucks, Paella House and Isidro’s Authentic Mexican Food.
Reaching out to Victory Bar regarding the construction and what made this building so unique they shared the following.
Victory Hall is housed in a historical railroad warehouse that dates back to 1914. The 9,500-square-foot space features 18-foot ceilings, preserved fir tree columns, historically preserved wooden ceiling beams, the original exposed brick walls, and the remains of a painted mural that is believed to have been the exterior facade of the 1914 warehouse.
Luxurious polished concrete floors are surrounded by blackened wood walls stained to mirror the bar counters made by Pioneer Millwork using the Shou Sugi Ban method, a Japanese technique used to industrially char wood. The space boasts 10 industrial chic steel chandeliers custom designed and fabricated by Resolute. The cut-out motif of the lighting is inspired by baseball stitching and a nod to the Mariners.
Besides food, drinks, audio-visual entertainment, and two locations for socializing, Victory Hall has partnered with Apicii, with its best-in-class catering, for those wishing to host events at Victory Hill.
Besides this, the Mariners are opening The Boxyard which will feature an indoor beer garden, during Mariners, Sounders, or Seahawks home games, as well as concerts. All of this including Hatback Bar & Grille, Steelheads Alley, and the upcoming baseball and softball training center, await everyone. Reflecting on the progress towards creating an entertainment destination for Seattle sports fans, Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President Fred Rivera shared this.
We’re excited for our fans to be able to experience Victory Hall on Opening Day and continue to see The Boxyard grow. Our expansion in the Sodo neighborhood is part of our larger goal to invest in our community and help bring more economic opportunities to the place we call home.
Victory Hall is at 12011st Ave South in Seattle, Washington, next to Hatback Bar & Grille and Steelheads Alley. For more information including games, events, and hours, visit www.mariners.com/victoryhall.
