What’s a growing girl to do, NOT snack on her lunch a teensy bit early? Unfortunately Ms. Sakurada doesn’t see it that way, and Usagi finds herself stuck in detention with Natsumi, who’s also feeling a bit peckish… for ENERGY.

058: Disconnecting Love: The Raging Makai Tree

Natsumi is almost as tired of competing with Usagi for Mamoru’s affection as she is with the Makai Tree’s unquenchable need for energy, and in her typical level-headed manner, devises a plan to feed two birds with one rabbit. Unfortunately, things don’t quite go the way she’d hoped, to dire consequence.

there are three stages to this animal’s life cycle: egg, larva, adult

The eggs can be harvested, being about the size of a basketball, and cracked open. The insides are neon greenish yellow and can be mixed with sweeteners and dairy to make Dathomiri chocolate (more on that later ;) )

The adults can grow to be 30 feet in length (9.4 meters) and are intelligent. They allow the harvest of a fraction of their nests if they are placated with freshly killed meat beforehand and therefore don’t enact revenge on the Singing Mountain clan, who’s territory they share

Wun’trē (pr: wuhn-tree): Dathomiri chocolate made primarily from the contents of whuffa worm eggs. The texture is like hardened custard and the taste is richer and more robust than plant-based chocolate
