Coming out of hiding to discuss the events of this evening in Dublin.

1. Cancelling a show this close to doors can sometimes be d/t an emergency and this freaks me out. Typically, you’ll get notice a few hours before on a true illness, which makes me suspect something bad could have happened. (Experience here).

2. The venue and promoters posted about the cancellation but the band did not, which further makes me worry.

However….

The track record of CATB is looming over me. The band never announced Bondy or Bob’s departure, or a 5 year disappearance so why would this be any different? That’s the glass half empty side of me speaking and I normally don’t think that way. I’m gonna push that aside and be positive here and hope for everyone’s well being.

My heart goes out to all of you who travelled so far and were so excited for this. It’s devastating.

Doing my best not to speculate too hard and I urge us all to do the same. Going back to comment 1, I strongly worry about something serious happening that caused this…let’s hope everyone involved is okay.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the cancellations

After much time to process, here are my thoughts.

1. Shit happens.

2. For them to cancel everything for months down the road, it’s something big and I’m sure it was tough. I cannot live in a state of anger over it. I just hope they are sincerely all good.

3. I got my refunds for all shows quickly.

4. Everyone is bitching about Van. It’s his fault, he’s an addict, he’s not said anything, blah blah. Guys…other than Dave Grohl coming clean about cheating on his wife when was the last time the singer announced major news? Sure - the singer gives a statement but management is responsible for posting it, IT’S WHAT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES DO. It’s why they are hired. And we know there is no mgmt so….lets chill. Christ it’s Van we’re also talking about, he probably doesn’t even know the password for the main account. 🤣

5. In truth, no one owes us anything. Everyone complaining about how much time, money and energy they’ve invested in this band..you got your money back for tickets and if you don’t want to support them anymore, then walk away. You look kind of stupid complaining about supporting something that was your choice to like in the first place.

6. I’ll still be here as I’ve been since 2014. I’m not a fair weather CATB fan. Here for the long haul and I look forward to the future.
