My son, 8, is a lazy brat who can most often be found eating.

He makes messes everywhere he goes.

And he refused to do anything about his hair.

It was so long and matted that things were starting to get tangled in it.

So one day I held him down and took some scissors to him.

He wasn't happy about, that's for sure.

Now he looks bad and my dad (63) has been making fun of my boy.

We were having 100 degree weather and we have no AC. I did what I could. He has been distant ever since.

Mara, one of our cats, got outside late last night while I was taking out the recycling. She's only ever gotten out maybe twice before, so she freaked out and ran. Luckily, I was able to keep track of her (mostly) and got her back in, but she nearly gave me a heart attack because I was terrified that she'd run into the woods out back.

She's safe, but I was jittery as hell afterwards. So, to calm down I dove into Skyrim and she demanded lap cuddles. I felt like drawing afterward, and this happened.

I love "pathetic wet cat of a mer" Erandur, he's so skrunkly in the beginning. Valdimar is fun, but I'm going to have to bust out my old anatomy books to get his big stupid muscles right.

Obligatory Cat Tax. We named her after the goddess because her mission in life is to cuddle and be on our laps as often as possible. Am I the asshole for screaming at my adoptive parents at 2am?

I (16F) don't think I'm doing anything wrong but my parents seem to be getting frustrated so let's see what Tumblr thinks. For context, I love my parents and they love me very much. We are a very affectionate family and spend a lot of quality time together. My parents do their best to make sure my every need are met, but sometimes their best isn't good enough. They feed me two meals a day and leave out enough snacks that I have plenty to eat during the day. However, we recently moved and our new house came with a rat problem. My parents "claim" that they can't leave me snacks because the rats were eating it and it encourages them to keep coming into the house. However, the result of this is that I wake up in the middle of the night *starving* with no food to eat. I try to inform my parents of this (by screaming until they wake up at 2am) but they just tell me to go back to bed. They REFUSE to give me more snacks until breakfast. They also told me if I really want to have snacks out all night I could chip in and help, but they had most of my teeth removed when I was 14 (long story, but the teeth were causing pain and had to go) so I really don't know what I could do to help.

Like I said, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. A lady has to eat after all! And they're being very rude denying me food when they KNOW the food I like is kept in cabinets I can't reach. They don't get mad at me, but last night I may have woken them up 7 times, and by the last one they sounded pretty exasperated. AITA? If it helps you make a decision, they wake me up during my naps ALL the time.

My stray cat returned after she was missing for 2 weeks. I'm so happy she's back. I gave her lots of treats and kisses. I checked her all over and she's not injured or ill. Such a good day, I'm so happy.

Supernova Update:

Since I figured y'all might want a quick rundown of what's been going on with the sick trashcan kitten I found back in February.

I did keep her and she gets along wonderfully with my older cat Jolene. They play, cuddle, chase, groom one another (it's more Jolene grooming Nova and Nova then trying to WWE body slam her).

Nova has turned out to be quiet the parkour master and it's already pretty big for a 6 months old cat.

And speaking of her being 6 months, she got spayed on the past Friday (06/14). And it has been.... Huo boy. Interesting. Both Salem and Jolene were spayed at the foster home and shelter they were respectively at prior to my adoption. So this is the first I've had to deal with a spayed pet. Still cost me over $100 between meds and what I did have to pay with the spay voucher - I cant imagine how bad it would have been cost wise without it.

Supernova does seem bound and determined however to open her stitches no matter what I do. She did irritate and (I don't think open, but tear) at the top stitch while I was asleep. So we got that cleaned up and put some ointment on (vet approved). E-Collars don't really work though, we tried it and she went ballistic - like bashing her head against the wall repetitively and doing flips and rolls to get it off, we thought she would pop her stitches doing all that alone. I even tried clingwrap around her tummy because I can't afford one of those little cat jumpers to stop her. So it's been a fun attempt and keep her from ripping them open. And by fun I mean stress inducing.

But there is your current update on our local trashcan parkour king, my brilliant feline daughter, Supernova.
