I'm experiencing a roller coaster of emotions right now. Earlier, I was practically euphoric seeing the notification I had achieved 10K worth of likes. Now, I just feel strangely empty and sad. About an hour ago, my mom's cat passed away. His name was Cheesy, and he's been with us since I was 14. He has had a long medical history. We suspect he was the product of incest with all the birth defects he and his twin brother had. His twin passed away when I was like 15 or 16 and had a very badly deformed neck. We hadn't noticed any deformities in Cheesy until he started running into issues when I was 20. After a good examination at the vet, it turnt out he had an extremely underdevelopped penis and they had to turn it into a 'vagina' so he could pee better. It's an extremely rare and costly procedure- we had been planning to celebrate my 21st birthday in Las Vegas and pretty much all that money went to his operation instead. It went well, for a couple of years but then he started suffering from intestine-related problems. With both me and my mom having IBS, we always joked he 'had to join the club'. My mom took him to the vet about 90 minutes ago and arrived home with tears in her eyes. His intestines had pretty much stopped functioning completely and the vet advised to just let it all end. He passed away peacefully in my mom's arms and I feel so bad that I didn't said goodbye to him before they left for the apointment. He's just gone. Cheesy was like a grumpy uncle to my cats, he was the cat that taught mine basic stuff like 'respect your elders'. They definitely used to listen to him and he was like the head of the feline pride we have at home. (note to non-cat owners: domesticated cats can form prides like lions do, and our cats really are a pride). It's just so unbelievable that he's gone.

He's gone. In my head, the Dr. Cheezy song just plays over and over- in the Netherlands we used to have this childrens mini-tv series about kids who ran away from fat camp to eat cheesburgers at this fictional restuarant called Dr Cheezy and their adventures along the way. My mom liked the show and named him after the song.
