I'm getting quite tired of seeing this nonsense, so let's do a quick summary post in case I need it later.

STEP 1: Platinum Games screws the absolute pooch on Bayonetta 3, pissing off their fan-base and gravely disappointing a lot of queer fans by swerving Bayonetta into a fairly out of nowhere romantic relationship with previously-mostly-comic-relief charming idiot character Luka. It's pretty universally panned as a dumb move at best, and downright hostile to the game's most passionate fanbase at worst.

STEP 2: A subset of fans use this bad game decision as a reason to start denying that the Bayonetta franchise has queer text or subtext at all. They argue, explicitly, that because Bayonetta ended up in a male/female relationship then she cannot be queer, and that her queerness can only exist or be considered a valid interpretation of her character if she ends up in a same-sex relationship. This is, by the extremely literal definition of the term, bi-erasure and a form of biphobia.

This is not all or most of the criticism of Bayonetta 3, but it is some of it. I see it happening live on social media, I have to block a few people because of it, and it boils my piss, to be quite frank.

STEP 3: Ty Galiz-Rowe, a nonbinary bisexual transmasc games writer, notices this tendency too, and pens a piece for Gayming Magazine called "Bayonetta 3 is bringing out people’s biphobia in a big way" which you can read here. In the piece, he voices a criticism of this tendency, and cites the work of a few other writers, including some who are bisexual themselves.

Those writers don't much appreciate the criticism, and Galiz-Rowe has a fairly civil discussion with them on Twitter about it that, as far as I can tell, ends amicably, with Galiz-Rowe admitting they wrote some of the piece with too much anger and directed some unfair criticisms. I do not believe the piece itself has been edited or amended, but Galiz-Rowe discussed some reflections about it on their personal twitter.

STEP 4: I retweet the article, because yeah, I have seen this biphobia going around and it annoys me too, and I think Galiz-Rowe did a good job putting words to the upset. I write a short thread getting rather heated about people denying the queer subtext (actually screw "subtext" it is text) of Bayonetta 2 because she didn't end up with Jeanne in 3. I direct this thread very specifically at people making the argument that "if Bayonetta had a straight relationship then she can't be queer" because that is, by the extremely literal and obvious definition of the term, biphobia.

STEP 5: People who can't separate disagreement from abuse, and who absolutely refuse to learn enough reading comprehension to understand when a thread is or isn't about them, decide to reach the head-ass conclusion above and have been tagging me with their imaginary grievances since October.

It is quite annoying, and I've had enough of ignoring the casual insults, so here's a post I can link to if someone asks about it in the future.

*he studies hard, but pretends not to care about it as much as he does. its easier to gain the upper hand when people underestimate him, after all!

*he’s got a knack for strategy, board, and card games, and is usually quick to both pick up and exploit the rules to his advantage. he’s a nightmare to deal with during a game of chess.

*his constant talk of secrets stems from a desire to know and be known in return. ‘i’ll tell you all of mine if you tell me all of yours.’ he wants someone to open up to, but he needs to know he can trust them in return, and he wants this one hell of a lot more than he cares to admit.

*to that end, though, earning his trust and getting him to open up is difficult.

*even though he’s got quite the fascination with poisons and have mixed up more than a few, he’s more the type to keep them as a last resort. as much as he’s jokes about them and is curious to test them out, getting in trouble for poisoning his fellow classmates (no matter how advantageous in a mock battle) is not something he’s keen on getting into. having a reputation of being a schemer is one thing, but a reputation of being a poisoner is less forgivable. 

*as he gets older, he doesn’t get too much taller, but he certainly gets broader. it’s all that archery.

iceberg already had the keys to his place given by gears "in case of emergencies" that he used occasionally to steal cheetos and walked in on a stream on one of his heists, gears had to explain that he was using an unusual form of therapy to cope with the stress of working for the foundation and that people somehow enjoyed it when he was himself unlike the folks in the foundation

gears tells glass on their next session shortly after this to vertify if this is a valid stress outlet and glass becomes a semi-regular viewer of his content (his monotone voice is perfect white noise for chores no its not weird!!!) and he occasionally joins him in psychology related content

clef found out when he went to gears' place to "teach him how to knit" because he lost a stupid bet and saw that gears had set up a camera and was online already, that was the first time he ever saw a stream my man had to adapt on the spot (he did and started his own channel shortly after, becoming a frequent collaborator on co-op games and challenges)

bright found out one day when he caught gears doing a 24 hour livestream from his phone at work and nobody really explained anything to him he just saw gears talking to someones with the camera on and it wasnt iceberg and there was no fucking way it was a woman so bright did some research and found his channel and used this knowledge exclusively to troll him by showing up to streams in different bodies (he also follows clef and does the same to him but clefs fanbase is different so they just accept that hes the same jack, clef just explained it once as "like a system but reverse" and it was never brought up again)

''It doesn't look like a C.I.A. vehicle, dad! It's like a slow-moving castle, out of heavy metal.'' Steve spoke while nervously fiddling with his fingers. ''It's like it's owned by metalheads!''

Stan looked up from his book, his attention caught. ''Metalheads? You mean those long-haired worshippers of the DEVIL? That's not right...''

''I guess we'll be staying here tonight. I'm Nathan Explosion. I don't know why I said that, you already knew. Whatever.'' He shrugged, sighed, and stepped inside like the faces of awe of the winning family meant nothing to him.

Another man, who looked like an elf and also a birch tree, just followed, silently. ''They're getting comfortable like it's a party! Wouldn't expect anything less offensive from lost men such as these.'' Stan pouted. ''You there, young man!'' He pointed at the catfish man, who was in the middle of taking off his shoes after realising the kitchen floor might be slippery. ''Huh? Mes?''

He handed out his hand in the shape of one half of a handshake. Stan hesitated, but he accepted it. The man's grip was a lot firmer than Stan expected. ''So, ums... What rooms ams I sleepings in?'' Hi, everyone More and more people start making games that are important to them, the branches of that tree will start to grow in all kinds of new and exciting directions (Shaw, 2018). Video games have become a part of LGBTQ culture, and queer games are developing in a more diversified direction. A gayme is literally just a game that's gay. Some would use it to insult people, but others use it to describe the game. For my Tumblr example, the ga(y)me I chose is Life is strange. This game contains many queer elements, which also presents queer culture. The video mainly talks about that the main character Max saved her good friend Chloe from a tornado. And in the process of salvation, they fall in love with each other. In the process of playing, players will face many different multiple choices, and each choice will affect the protagonist's self-identity. Different choice will also lead to different endings. The game Life is Strange has helped highlight the importance of emotion, characterization and plot in games, emphasizing that gaming is a genre to be reckoned with, just as much as film.

 In addition, Life is strange also contains some political elements. Historically, attempts to politicize game studies have been fraught with trouble. “Trouble” here takes on an expansive meaning. It brings to mind interpersonal (and intergroup) conflict, productive (and circular) intellectual dispute, political (and consumerist) agitation, and more (Phillips, 2020, p. 23). But Life is strange well-balanced politics and games. It contains immigration, gun violence and racism. In the video, Max actively resisted gun violence by reverse time and bravely proposed in public to let more people see the love between two girls. The plots design is based on the virtual premise that the protagonist has "super ability". Therefore, the protagonist's resistance to stereotype has become more reasonable and accepted by most people. "We were going to treat queerness as incidental, as matter-of-fact.” Garriss states. “Not casually and not disregarding the intricacies, but we let that not be the most important thing going on. And we set it up to be as lovely and as crazy and awesome as it could be and just not care about the fact that it’s two girls.” (Felicity, 2018). I think people will establish contact with the Max and Chloe in this game. This game has brought subtle changes to the world and reflects the real life of modern Americans.

Who are you? My name’s Emily, I’m in my mid-20′s and I’m a student in Viking and Old Norse studies with modern Norwegian. I live in France but go to uni in the UK (bilingual English-French). I have generalised anxiety disorder, hypermobiity and am hard of hearing, on top of suffering the results of several nasty injuries - a twicefractured neck, a broken hand, dislocated shoulder, dislocated ankle and broken pelvis - all of these injuries were riding related except one of the neck fractures, which was due to a bullying attack in high school where three boys in my class threw me down a flight of stairs. I’m an asexual lesbian, potentially non-binary and occasional gamer - all gaming reblogs/talk goes under the tag “Cast Gaymes” for this reason. I compete in amateur dressage and showjumping currently, but want to branch out with some dabbling in eventing, TREC, extreme trail riding and livestock working.

Hermes - 2007 bay zangersheide gelding (Quadrillo x Chanson de Kabaret)
This is my main guy, the love of my life and also my problem child. He’s a stunningly talented horse with shit for brains. He’s competed up to 130cm classes with my trainer as well as flouncing around smaller stuff with me, but is banned from dressage shows due to his inability to complete a test without throwing a strop. I’ve owned him since May 2011.


Freyja - 2016 chestnut zangersheide mare (Untouchable 27 x Leader M)
Moose, as she’s sometimes called, is the redheaded demon horse I fell in love with last year (2019). She’s got an enormous personality to match her 17.2hh body and is hopefully going to be my next showjumper, dressage horse and possibly take me eventing too.  

Vigo - 1997 black Welsh section D cob gelding (Cathedine Telynor x Ffoslas Caradog Ap Daffyd)
This old man is my darling pony, donkey of the swamps, sir of the wiggles. He has a million nicknames, as you can see. Vigo lives at home year round and rules the roost. I’ve taken him competing in jumping, dressage and TREC as he’s a massively polyvalent little beast. He’s been with me since 2013. Given his age he’s partially retired, but it’s an active retirement as he needs to be worked to keep the weight off him. Recently we’ve been dabbling in western riding, which suits him a lot.

 
Sana - 2001 grey arab gelding (Pegase EF x Neman)
We took Sana on as a companion for Hermes in 2013 as he and Vigo couldn’t live together at that point. His old owner took him to CEI160 endurance competitions, but he had to retire due to DJD in both knees. These days, he spends his time being a grumpy old man and occasionally farts around bridleless or ponies other horses. 


Horsie - 2017 grey anglo-arab gelding (Business x Pastel d’Olympe)
I bought him as a project mid June 2020 with the intention of selling him on eventually due to him needing someone to bring him on in a relaxed manner whilst he continues to grow and mature. He’s got an absolutely wonderful temperament and is generally pleasant to have at home so he’s staying with me for the moment. I plan on casually campaigning him in the ammie YH dressage, showjumping and eventing classes (Hunter too if there are any shows). 

 What other pets do you have? I have 3 barn cats (Monkey, Oliver and Rocket Launcher), and a purebred Maine Coon (Grimnir). Two family dogs - both Newfoundland’s but one purebred (Bear) and one rescue who was abandoned on us in 2018 (Bruno). 1 Dwarf rabbit (Smak) who was born in 2019. 27 chickens - farmyard X-breeds, a group of ex-production layers (the babbling biddies), purebred Brahmas (Magnus, Vulture, Brunhilde and Valkyrie) and a bunch of chicks from my Brahma cockerels (Balti, The Void™️, Soggy, Pingu, Chocolate, Yeller and Marbles). One peacock called Peanut. 7 elderly and partially feral llamas (Amy, Didier, Delia, Dolly, Esther, Ete and Edward) - Ete is the llama I occasionally show jumping things. Two tanks of tropical fish - one 300L community and a 450L with a now-solitary Oscar called Gilbert.

What are your hobbies? I read/write fanfiction and original fiction, occasionally do art, make stained glass windows/display pieces and participate in Vulture Culture (the collection of bones, fur and wet specimens) - my favourite pieces are my horse skull, coyote pelt and legacy human skull (teaching specimen given to me by my grandfather - he got it in the 60’s in Turkey when he was a teacher). As I mentioned above, I also game; my preferences are for long, open-world RPG’s - Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassins Creed Valhalla and Zelda: Breath of the Wild amongst others. 


Who was Rethy? Rethy was my old horse, who unfortunately had to be put to sleep due to sudden posterior paralysis in 2019. He was a 2005 anglo-arab gelding who I’d mainly competed in showjumping. Most notably, he had serious aggression issues due to having been abused in his youth and took a very particular handler to manage. Partly because of his aggression, and partly because of his larger-than-life (if that can even be said for a 17h giraffe of a horse) personality, he took a lot of patience to love but rewarded my efforts greatly. I miss him a lot. 


Who was Cool? Cool was a 2009 zangersheide gelding that I part owned with my trainer back in 2015. He and I weren’t a terribly good match (horses don’t come much lazier than him) but he took me up to amateur showjumping. We sold him in 2016 and from what I hear, is now loving life with a far more suitable young rider in Belgium.

Who was Burrito? Burrito was a rescue donkey I briefly owned in 2020. I’ve long loved donkeys and was very excited to bring one into my herd. Unfortunately, he had something terribly wrong with him. On Halloween he suddenly flipped out as I was feeding him and attempted to kill me; he knocked me to the ground, dragged me around by my boot, bit my leg, trampled my head (luckily I was wearing a hat) and savaged my right arm whilst attempting to go for my throat. I spent 4 days in hospital and had to undergo surgery to fix my injuries. Upon returning home I had him put to sleep, I’ve plenty of experience with aggressive animals but I couldn’t risk another attack like what he did and frankly didn’t want to keep him alive after it either.
