a thought

i complain a lot, especially on here about purrcilla, but another character i have strong feelings on is Francis.

i feel like so much of his character is wasted potential. he’s just used as the “haha funny greedy selfish guy! look he’s so snarky!” character. his fear/apprehension is brushed off or treated as a joke. none of his friends truly try to help him deal with her.

he had his free will taken away by purrcilla and she made a son just to lock him into a relationship. and yet she has no consequences. how Francis feels about any of this is hardly ever addressed. he’s friendly to purrcis but not close and he avoids purrcila when possible. that's it. that’s all we know.

he’s still treated as just a comic relief character. and i know, i know, it’s a kid game. they can’t get too dark but STILL. it’s been 3 years since the original valentines event took place and we still barely know anything. Francis’ character development is pretty much non existent. the main trio are in every event story and yet they really don’t grow much. 

there’s so much with Francis’ story that’s just never used! he’s in a horrible position and it’s hardly ever addressed! i’m sick of all the stuff that happened to him being played down or ignored. i’d like his character a lot i think. he’d probably be a fav of mine, but his writing isn’t the greatest. mostly i just want him to get some revenge, some kind of payback. i wanna know how he feels. i wanna know what’s going on with purrcis. i wanna know why Purrcila gets away with murder. i want more feeling! it’s a pretty heavy topic if you think about it.

and yes, like i said, its a kids game. but c’mon! give us some more depth here! some kind of resolution! i love cc but honestly everything with the Francis situation rubs me the wrong way.

On one hand, it's good Purrcila's realized she was in the wrong, on the other she's still a bitch. Taking it out on Francis n stuff. It's like yeah girl! You did mess up big time! He doesn't owe you shit! The hell do you want?

I also just feel so odd about her mother/son relationship with Purrcis. Poor dude has the strangest family dynamic. I think he sees too much good in Purrcila.

Anyway, i really really hope Francis doesn't forgive her. But with the way the event is going, he probably will hhh. Francis forgiving her just doesn't sit right with me man. She doesn't deserve it.

i did a bunch of quick drawings for a pmv map i’m hosting on cc amino. they we’re rly annoying to do so i’m posting them on here cause i’m super proud for getting em all done.

why i hate Purrcilla

since there’s been some arguing about Purrcilla on castle cats amino not too long ago i thought i’d give my two cents here as well.

Purrcilla is my least favorite character for a lot of reasons. we’ll start for with the 2017 valentines event where she gets the most story. her story line in that is tricking Catniss into helping her use alchemy to make her and francis a son for the express intent of locking Francis into a relationship. here’s her exact lines:

Purrcilla: Oh, this is no love potion. Love potions can't be made. Catniss: What are you talking about? Purrcilla: If all else fails, THIS will keep Francis by my side! Catniss: Is that an egg? Purrcilla: This is Purrcis, son to the greatest mage in all of Catania! Catniss: You tricked me into helping you create this?! Purrcilla: I only did what had to be done. And there is more yet...

which is an absolutely despicable thing to do. she then uses one of Amortina’s love arrows to force Franics to love her which is also terrible. her and Francis have never even spoken before.

 most of her storyline is based around her inability to take no for an answer. after what she does she receives no punishment and is completely off the hook. she even continues to stalk and obsess over Francis

some people have tried to justify her actions with Hoshi’s description: “Hoshi claims she can heal anything but love sickness. The last time she tried that Purrcilla fell even More in love with Francis!” and while yeah that may have a part to play in the end regardless of how in “love” she is she’s still in control of her own actions.

i personally believe she’s not truly in love with Francis seeing as she so blatantly puts her wants above him time and time again. Some people are even mad at Francis since he’s not part of raising Purrcis and he ignores Purrcilla but lets look at it from his side, a random stranger from the guild makes a son for you two and tries to force you into a relationship with them, do you think you’d want anything to do with that person? and besides, we see in a later quest Francis has no ill will towards Purrcis. this is just a complicated situation.

now some people might be annoyed at this post and be like “but i think Purrcilla is such an interesting character so i really like her!” and that’s all well and dandy. i dislike Purrcilla as a person. as a character i’m neutral on her. if you like her as a character that’s completely fine.
