Hey hey! It's about time I posted content from my own game, don't you think?? Well here ya go - a break from all the CC finds I keep spamming.

So the "Reaper's Rewards" event is a thing going on now. I saw quite a bit of people in several Sims 4 subreddits showing off their goth/emo/vampire/that kind of dark aesthetic sims they're using to participate in the event (with a few of them also romancing and having kids with the Grim Reaper as a result), so I thought I'd contribute my own character!

Sanguinaria Addams ("Gwen" for short) is going to be the Grim Reaper's little assistant in this event! I've actually shown her before in a previous post where she happens to be the girlfriend of Cassandra Goth. She's actually my Addams Family fan character, though she's kind of a general, all-purpose character as well. She's a mall goth who loves to mix her love of 'girly' things like fashion, hair styling, and makeup with her interest in all things dark and macabre.

She's also quite the enthusiast in seeking out supernatural creatures, including the Grim Reaper himself!

I took a pretty long break from the game, so Gwen had quite a bit of catching up to do with a bunch of weekly tasks that have already been released. ^^;

First, Gwen got some mail from the Ambrosia Society Newsletter, which basically told her to start planting snapdragons so she could harvest and cook with them to make ambrosia. She planted a snapdragon as well as a lily, and did a bit of research on them. She learned a lot!

After that, Gwen figured she needed a break from research for bit, so she decided to head to the Willow Creek Archive Library to just chill and read just for fun. While there, she ran into her girlfriend's little brother, Alexander! Poor kid was all alone, lmao. He seemed to be having fun playing on the computers, though!

yall remember playing games on the library computers when you were kids?? i know i did irl ahahahah

Gwen and Alexander got along well (they had good compatibility!), so she figured he might be interested in what she'd been researching........ though she tried not to mention anything scary or related to death/the Grim Reaper.

Gwen: "Fishing, huh? That's cool. Seems like you know quite a bit about the stuff meant to make you live forever."

I just thought it was pretty cute how Alexander was so happy to talk with Gwen. Such a pure boy, protect him at all costs. (and hope he doesn't go bald when he ages up into a teen)

After a bit, Mei Prescott (the principal of Copperdale High School) showed up and Gwen figured she might as well talk to her too. I imagine she and Cassandra went to Copperdale as students and only really saw 'Mrs. Prescott' one or two times for minor misdemeanors (mostly not following the dress code), but were otherwise good in their classes and graduated with decent grades.

Unfortunately, good old Mrs. Prescott didn't seem too thrilled to engage in such a 'trivial' conversation with her former pupil. She told Gwen what she already learned from Alexander, after all.

Then again, it could have been worse: if Gwen hadn't changed into a more 'proper' outfit, maybe Mei would have yelled at her even more for dressing inappropriately and 'not learning' from the times she spent in her office.

...Or maybe it's already kind of bad, considering Gwen thinks good old Mrs. Prescott is old and used up, LMFAOOOOO

also thanks game for reminding me to turn off the attraction system, it always bugged me when my otps/favorite couples didn't find each other attractive

Finally, after cooking a recipe (you actually have to be level 3 or higher and I just maxed out Gwen's cooking level with cheats so it was more convenient lol) and replacing her old record player with the "Grimophone", Gwen got to summon and meet the Grim Reaper himself........ without having to sacrifice another sim!!

I think I actually took the above screenshot because Gwen was sharing melancholy thoughts with Grimmy (she has the "gloomy" trait) and I just thought it was funny how he looked super shocked about it. Go figure, the harbinger of death and despair itself acts all surprised Pikachu at a goth girl (probably) talking about death.

or maybe she just divulged her self-insert fanfiction she'd been writing with him in it.

Did I mention Grimmy showed up in a flirty mood??? 😂

I'm going to be posting more about Gwen's adventurers as the Reaper's little assistant, so stay tuned!! Maybe I'll file these under their own tag, lol.

a: Girlie be self-destructive af. Honestly you don't even need to try to destroy her life. They'll do it themselves eventually. (wonder where she inherited that trait from it definitely absolutely wasn't Eobard)

b: Siv has a heart defect, which means that if she loses her speed completely, there's a chance that they'll go into cardiac arrest bc her regenerative healing is no longer keeping her alive.

c: Their moral code (or lack thereof). Because of this (and let's be honest her self-sabotaging tendencies too) she's burned almost all her bridges, which means they've got almost no one to turn to if they need help.

10. Is there something this OC doesn't like that most like?

Hailey doesn't really like any music except oldies and extremely vulgar rap music (think stuff like WAP or Slumber Party).

Cassandra can travel through shadows and (occasionally, it takes a lot of effort) do necromancy.

In the early stages of their relationship, they were both really messed up emotionally, so it'd probably be an all-out screaming match that involved throwing things and slamming doors.

After they both get their shit together, it'd probably still be an all out screaming match (minus the throwing things and such) but they'd end up both cracking up laughing by the end and settle the argument by curling up on the couch and watching really corny black-and-white monster movies.

No doubt this'll be another banger of a fic, but before I red it I wanna try to predict their parent god. And it's been a minute since I read pjo so I might be wrong on a lot of this stuff.

Fabian - Poseidon. No doubt about it there's even an underwater kiss featured

Fig - Hear me out, she could be either Ares or Apollo. The whole Hilda Hilda thing was so Apollo prank coded. Ares because German Shepard mode. She could also be a demigod of a Tartarus god, since I don't think Aguefort will have many complaints over that.

Kristen - the healing and the whole sun thing makes me think Apollo, but she's got the whole Cassandra thing going on, so maybe she's also part of the Hunters of Artemis. That would mean tho that she wouldn't be on campus very much unless she somehow stuck a deal. And hey, no one said anything about dating girls right? It's only the guys she should stay away from?

Riz - Athena. Come on, there's barely much of a difference from Riz and Anabelle already, minus the quips. He'd just be more lawyer coded instead of architect coded. Of course Zeus is technically a god of law and order but. I'm sticking with Athena

Adaine - Ooh, this girly is hard to guess. Magic is clearly a big part of her, which nominates Hecate, but then she has the whole divination thing, which could either be Apollo or some sort of equivalent to Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Her amazing plays of smartness (through Siobahn ofc) could make her Athena's child, or the fact that her and Thalia seem so similar to each other could make her a Zeus demigod. Furious fist and witch bolt and all that. I really have no idea who she might be, so I'll leave it like this

The thing about living beyond the end of a Great Prophecy and a war against the Titans is that you really, really don’t expect to do it. Like, at all. ... The Bad Kids defeat Kronos, turn down godhood, and return home to Camp Half-Blood just in time for the last few days of summer. Everyone's got plans for what happens next. Kristen is spearheading the rebuilding and the new cabins for the children of minor gods, Adaine is putting up wards around the Aguefort Adventuring Academy to give demigods a safe place during the school year, Fig is patching things up with her parents, Riz is already trying to decipher the next Great Prophecy, and Gorgug is working on tech that demigods can use safely. And Fabian is...hanging out on the deck. Watching the sunset. And he's got no idea what comes next. He's got Gorgug, though. Maybe that's the most important thing.

TW: Hostage situation, guns, a character being sick.

Stephanie keeps sending glances toward Damian. He’s still feverish, she can see it from here; his breathing is hard, his face red, his gaze dizzy, his forehead sweaty. 

She was just supposed to get Damian from school after they realized he was sick, and then drop him off at Wayne Enterprise with Bruce, the time for him to cancel his resting meetings and bring his son back home. 

Stephanie has her afternoon free, so Bruce has offered to bring her with them to the Manor, to have a good meal and look after Damian with him. Probably more because he saw how worried she is than anything else, really, but it’s still nice of him. 

They were waiting in Bruce’s office for him to come back after an emergency call when the men blazed in, guns out and ready to shoot. 

They’re still here. Stephanie is tied up, now, as well as Damian, and the door is locked. They’re hostages - she heard one of them call the security to patch him up with Bruce, and told him “We have your kid and his babysitter, give us the codes or else” in a very menacing tone. 

She knows what code they’re talking about. Bruce had updated all of them on it - a new project of Wayne Enterprise, important for the development of Crime Alley. They all have access to the totality of it, as Bruce’s heirs, just in case of emergency. 

These men don’t know that. 

They don’t know that, but Bruce can’t relent these codes in time, or at all. 

Damian can’t wait - his state is worse than before, and they probably need Leslie if not the hospital now. It’s probably not just a sickness. 

They are talking. They are ready to jump at any sounds, and they won't let them go. That much is clear enough. 

Stephanie takes a breath, then sends last look at Damian. Her little brother is more important now. 

“I can give you the codes.” Stephanie keeps her chin high and her gaze steady; she can’t fail right now, so close, so far, with so much on the line. 

The men turn toward her. Five, in kevlar and guns still ready, probably mercenaries paid by someone else. The leader, the more relaxed of the lot, snorts. 

“How can an overpaid babysitter give me the codes I’m looking for?”

She holds his gaze, refusing to let go, refusing to let herself be scared. She has to stay strong and sure of herself. 

“Because I’m not the babysitter?”

That gets all of their attention. They all look at her, face going from confused to disbelief. 

“I know Bruce since I’m a kid,” she continues, because she has to keep going, to not stop, to get Damian out of here. “I’m close to the Wayne family. I have my entries here, a personal code that gives me access to every Wayne Enterprise data.”

The leader approaches her, crouching to be at her level, looking for a lie that isn’t here. “And you would give the code we want to us?”

“I will,” she nods, narrowing her eyes. “But only if you let Damian go. He’s sick. He needs a doctor.”

The leader’s look goes to Damian, and the kid is so out of it he doesn’t even try to snarl at him. It only worries Stephanie more. 

“Alright, girlie. We let the kid go once you proved you can give us what we want. Do we have a deal?”

He’s smirking, and Stephanie only wants to push him. 

(Duke is on patrol right now, and probably aware of what’s going on. He’s supposed to take lunch with them at the Manor before going back to school. Cassandra is available all day and night. They will come at their rescue. She just has to make sure they have the time, once Damian is safe.)

Stephanie breathes. Her confidence doesn’t falter. “We have a deal.”

I think that fem!Shin would be super regressive, even though I would love my fav character to be the same sex as me. His greatest asset is his emotional vulnerability, he's gender-non-conforming and he definitely is coded as gay. Making him a girl, especially if we changed his designes to even more girly, would make him heterosexual, gender-conforming and a lot less vulnerable as the result. Him being emotional would be percieved as female trait, so "natural" and regressive. What do u think?

I actually strongly disagree with this!

However, I don't want to sound mean! So let me start off by saying this: there are more popular masculine characters than feminine characters in fandoms, and the fact that you and I would love to see more popular feminine characters is not regressive. It's actually the opposite! Like, I think it's a bit regressive for Nankidai to have a 1 to 3 ratio of girls to boys in his main cast of characters, and it's even possible to begin Chapter 3 with all the girls dead except for Sara. Even though I love Nankidai's writing, including his writing for women, his bias for masculine characters is pretty obvious to me. That bias is common for many popular authors, so I don't hold it against him too much, but it's worth pointing out.

The next thing I want to address is your assertion that Shin is "gender-non-conforming and he is definitely coded as gay." First of all, let me say that I also like to read queer subtext into Shin's character. (I even wrote a suggestive post about that topic just this morning!) However, the text does not specifically tell us that Shin is gender-non-conforming or gay, even though I agree those are awesome headcanons. But, you could easily make other headcanons work into his character. I think bisexual Shin would be pretty fun too! He even has a purple-pink-bluish color scheme going on. :)

Also, since we are dealing with a completely hypothetical fictional scenario, there is no reason fem!Shin has to be heterosexual, cis, or even alloromantic. We can make fem!Shin as queer as we want! We're only limited by our imaginations. The specific details are entirely up to you. Queer women also deal with abusive relationships, ostracization, and being stereotyped as "predators." Additionally, I don't think fem!Shin needs to be "super girly." I think it would be more in-character for fem!Shin to be unfashionable and timid. Also, fem!Shin would keep her passion for computers, even though programming and hacking is stereotypically "for boys." So that would be pretty cool for her! 

Finally, let’s talk about Shin’s emotional vulnerability! One reason canon!Shin is so compelling is because we see how he feels pressured into being a “strong, cold, logical man,” even though his “greatest asset” is how big his heart is! That’s why I love canon!Shin so much and I’m very grateful for him.

However, women villains are also compelling for their emotional vulnerability! Here are a few fictional women villains I personally adore:

That’s Regina Mills from Once Upon a Time, Cassandra from Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure, Catra from She-Ra, and Kreia from KOTOR 2.

These women don’t face societal expectations that they should be “strong, logical men.” Instead, they face societal expectations that they should be “weak, emotional women.” None of them want to be perceived as weak, so they instead put pressure on themselves to be “strong and logical.” This is deeply harmful to them, because they are all bursting with emotions! thanK you aIMee : Hilarious shade to miss Kim K. She nailed her for her spray tan. Compared her to a high school bully/called her out for having zero growth. And more. Kim might be over their feud, but Taylor never will because she doesn’t deserve her forgiveness. 

I look in people’s windows : All I think about when I hear this song is the dad from the movie Stuck in Love who spies on his ex-wife through her window.

The Prophecy * : Another Aaron Dessner masterpiece. Please I've been on my knees. Change the prophecy. Don't want money. Just someone who wants my company. *crying* This hits so deeply for the Mirrorball girlies (me). 

Cassandra : The themes of betrayal, disbelief, and isolation implies that this is about Kim and Kanye. Their betrayal went too far and will never not hurt. 

Peter * : Once again, Aaron, this is a masterpiece. The opening piano keys remind me of that scene from Barbie (Barbie becomes human). This track is a favorite on the album. I love when she refers to Peter Pan in her songs — like in Cardigan. The bridge. The way she repeats You said you were gonna grow up. Then you were gonna come find me like she is trying to convince herself he will come. Heartbreaking. 

The Bolter : I’m getting a soft country vibes with folklore mixed

Robin : I don’t connect to that song…at all. Might need a few more listens. The Manuscript : Is this about giving us All too well 10 mins version? Clues points to her relationship with Jake Gyllenall. I love the last line of the song ‘Now and then I reread the manuscript. But the story isn't mine anymore.’. It’s the perfect ending to the album.

Fortnight : I didn’t know what to expect with this Post Malone feature, but I like it. I love you, it's ruining my life is so relatable. On another note, I love the music video. It’s so aesthetically pleasing to watch. It gives Poor Things vibes and stars Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, who were both in the 1989 movie Dead poet society. 

The tortured poets department : I like some parts of the bridge, but will need a deeper listen 

My boy only break his favorite toys * : Did not expect this one to be so catchy. 

Down bad : Vibes. Sadness. Vibes. 

So long, London : There are so many sad lines in this track — as always with Track 5s. The bridge. 

But daddy I love him : Is this song about us? I’m having his baby. No I’m not, but you should see your faces! She is so unserious <3

Fresh out the slammer : The opening gives Lana vibes

Florida!!! : I was excited about Florence Welch's feature the same way I was with Lana on Midnights. I’m getting the same drugs she put in Maroon sound wise.

Who’s afraid of little old me * : Rep coded. Mad woman's sister. A favorite on the album <3

I can fix him (no really I can) : No one can fix this man Taylor, it’s been years. Also, it’s the shortest song on the record. It didn’t need to be longer for her to understand she couldn’t fix him *laughs*

loml : The transition from love of my life to loss of my life…I’m not crying, you are. This breakup was possibly the hardest for her, which you can feel in this song. 

I can do it with a broken heart * : The chorus is so glitter gel pen! 

The smallest boy who ever lived : She surprised us with who it’s about. 

The Alchemy : I was looking forward to Travis songs and this one did not disappoint. All the signs pointing to football and him. The trophy line! Screaming. I love it!

Clara Bow : The different icons (Clara Bow, Stevie Nicks, and herself) being used to put into a picture how her future would have turned out if she had stayed with each different man. With Joe, she would be Clara Bow and have to leave the music industry. With Matty, she’d be Stevie Nicks in 75 — performing but also on a lot of drugs (if you know him, you know). And lastly, post Joe/Matty, and with Travis, she is finally able to be herself.

Ok so I was originally going to do a basic character breakdown for you but that was rapidly approaching thousands of words territory (it was over 2000 characters and I was on the second fucking character) and I feel like that’s a little overwhelming so I’m just gonna give you a one sentence descriptor of The Guys(tm) and some of my favorite panels

First off, in dc, canon is your sandbox and you play with it how you wish. There are a million and one retcons and different writers write different characters in wildly different ways. There’s a base form of a character and all the details are up to interpretation, I recommend looking at people’s headcanons and opinions about the batfam to get a deeper understanding (and I can send that absolutely massive character breakdown when I feel like I can finish it if you want). Take everything here with a grain of salt as this is just my interpretation!

Also yes, they’re all extremely wild. Tim is arguably the most insane but they’re all so far above the “normal” bar that it barely matters

Now, the characters!

Bruce Wayne: emotionally repressed furry that’s trying to be a good dad but desperately needs therapy

Dick Grayson: sunshine boy that’s one second away from some sort of mental breakdown any time

Jason Todd: overdramatic gremlin that has a point even tho no writer takes it seriously and treats him as the rebellious kid. Also an extremely traumatized victim that’s constantly treated as being a bad guy because he doesn’t act like a victim “should”. Loves Shakespeare and swears every other word

Tim Drake: Skateboarding gay maniac that hides his insanity with way too many lies and a relaxed demeanor. Also a stalker

Damian Wayne: traumatized bb that hides his vulnerability behind a facade of murderous anger and apathy. Loves animals and drawing

Cassandra Cain: Perceptive of everything and knows your deepest secrets but tends to see things without nuance, also an absolute maniac that’s hiding behind a facade of Good Child(tm). The scariest person in all of dc

Stephanie Brown: Angry girlie that loves throwing quips and bricks. She’s independent, competent and understands the needs of gothams uptown, since she lived there

Duke Thomas: Absolutely insane but hides it remarkably well. Has a chill vibe, loves quipping back and isn’t afraid of anyone or anything. Also besties with Jason and Steph (the uptown trio my beloved <3)

Alfred Pennyworth: Sassy old man that’s coldly professional. Not very good at affection but gives great advice

Barbra Gordon: Badass that keeps eyes on anything and everything. Keeps all the bats together and won’t stand for anyone’s shit

Traits that commonly tie em all together: Neglecting physical and emotional health, poor communication about anything related to emotions, a strong moral code that will not waver, a love of fighting and freedom, downright extreme levels of paranoia and trauma, a sense of humor and a flair for the dramatics

Who’s my favorite? Jason. He says Bamboozled unironically I love this looser. I love all the batkids but he’s my favorite

What would i recommend? It depends on your tolerance for out of character stuff and if you prefer angst over fluff. I love enemy to caretaker Jason Todd and Tim Drake but it’s absolutely out of character and makes no sense. The crack fics in this fandom can be really fun as well and they tend to be more in character unless they’re angsty. The angst fics will fuckin destroy you but damn are a lot of them good. Also, there’s a lot of rape/non con stuff and quite a bit of batcest so just be prepared for that and block it if you’re not comfortable with it. Also so very many AUs and crossovers. So fuckin many

So uh yea, hope this helps! I love these idiots but they vary so wildly that you can mix and match a downright insane amount of stuff. Have fun! Go insane >:D
