So the whole section where cass identifies herself through the batfam members which I seem to remember someone criticising as like the fanonisation of cass isn’t what’s happening?!?!!! To me, it seems like brombal is building an arc of cass finding herself and her own identity outside of the bats or being a killer

Yeah I think about her all the time sorry I pick up so many hobbies I have left it on hiatus for *checks watch* actually I won't answer that anyways, to put my schedule into perspective, Ive been wanting to make this tribute 3D render since Halloween, so... anyway I finally did it and it was really time consuming and difficult to figure out how to get the look I wanted so that's my excuse lol I think next, I'll try and render this drawing, although I wanted to redraw it also, and then I'll try to post them together in HD or smth lol (those take a lot longer to render) I gotta pat myself on the back, I didn't do half bad in the original painting considering I only had a vague reference for the chest and otherwise had to figure out the rest of the lighting and shading for myself

When it comes to Cass and language I like to think that even though she eventually learned how to speak and write and has to use it on a daily basis that is obviously not her preferred method of communication. Cass only had to start grappling with the concept of verbal language at 17 and so she’d developed her own kind of communication, esp w the people she’s most comfortable with she’d use a mix of gestures, facial expressions, body language and simple words; things that she’s most used to and could use to express herself more freely.

Her friends and family having to deal with her being mostly non-verbal would also force them to get better at interpreting and using facial expressions and body language to express themselves, also making it easier for Cass to understand them back.
