The Spyrer Orrus Hunters have received a similarly grotesque glow-up, trading in their classic strongman suits for more obviously off-world equipment requiring voluntary dismemberment to operate. I like the minor xenos vibe these new suits give off, but I don't think they're meant to be t'au tech anymore.

And just in case you didn't already hate assembling Van Saar gangers, the new Tek Hunters look to be every bit as fiddly as the core kit and then some.

Meanwhile, the brood scum are... brood scum. Nothing really special, just new heads on the extant hive scum bodies. Good use of the range, especially as they already looked like Genestealer Cult neophytes minus the cult medallions.

A strong value proposition, overall - although the most interesting part of this preview, for me, is the promise of new Zone Mortalis ruins coming at a future date.

Idea

There is a sense that architecture has been carried by our growth as children; the escalation of scale from an infant to a model citizen. Its task is often encumbered by modern values but its true appreciation can be seen in the analysis of the Acropolis. From humble beginnings; almost on the edge, The Temple of Athena Nike stands as the icon of perfection that assumes the source for the dialogue between its neighbouring parts. It becomes the object of alignment to the sectional development of The Propylea, leading to the plateau of the clouds.

At first glance, from the ascent there is an issue of scale ahead, while Nike and The Propylea are similarly sized extensions of itself. To the left stands the Erechthion, supported by its archaeology and while bigger than the orders of the ascent, offers a reverse view of the source while drawing the point out of the figure of the Caryatid.

To the right, the bigger of the two, stands The Parthenon, harbouring its solution to the latest prime number of intent and of a scale that exasperates the cosmos returning to the directional progression of The Propylea. This plateau is now adjusted to accommodate the cultural change in Greece and serves opinion that architecture will never change but will only get more wiser and more beautiful.

If I remember correctly, the Sydney Opera House was super complicated to build, and Jorn Utzon was going way over budget and over time, because it’s a damn complicated structure. But he received one (1) piece of criticism from the Prime Minister at the time and fucking quit. Just absolutely rage quit the project. Obviously it eventually got finished but like. What would you even do at that point. 

Also, one of my favorite architectural features are caryatids! I just think they’re neat. :D

Like we COULD make this a regular column, but instead we decided to make it a whole sculpture that is ALSO a column. Really going above and beyond, I love it

No greater boon could be granted to me in my death.

I would also be keen to try my hand at politics again, to show the world, as indeed I am certain I would, that I still have the knack of leading the hearts and minds of men and to relive in a new age my great consulship. I have no doubt that I would make a terrific President or Prime Minister.

ATHENS (Reuters) – Greece wants the Parthenon Marbles back from the British Museum, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in London on Tuesday, trying to reinvigorate a longstanding campaign for the 2,500-year-old treasures.

British diplomat Lord Elgin removed the sculptures from the Acropolis in Athens in the early 19th century when Greece was under Ottoman rule. They comprise roughly half of the 160-metre-long frieze that was on the Parthenon temple.

Since independence in 1832, Greece has repeatedly requested their return, without success.

Tsipras, who was on his first official visit to London since he was elected in 2015, said the issue is of particular ethical importance for Greeks and he raised the matter when he met his British counterpart Theresa May.

“The Marbles belong to the world cultural heritage but their natural place is the Parthenon,” he told reporters.

Britain has resisted campaigns for the return of what it calls the Elgin Marbles along with treasures from other countries including Nigeria and Ethiopia, often citing legislation that bans its museums from permanently disposing of their collections.

Greece has stepped up its campaign since 2009 when it opened a new museum at the foot of the Acropolis hill, saying this answered any suggestion that Athens lacks a suitable place to preserve the marbles.

The museum hosts priceless relics from the Acropolis, including the Caryatids, standing columns in female form. There is space for one of the six missing figures, on display at the British museum.

In 2014, a previous Greek government hired a legal team including human rights lawyer Amal Clooney to advise it on its bid to secure the return of the marbles.

“We know Britain’s position but what has a particular value is that this effort is continued,” Tsipras said. “In due course, we’ll find increasingly more supporters of Greece’s just stance.”

Acropolis & New Acropolis Museum

We left the Acropolis to meet one of our lecturers at the NEW Acropolis Museum. When they broke ground for the building, they discovered a slew of Archaic sites and so, rather than finding a new location for the museum, they built the museum over it. One can walk over these ruins and see them, for the floors are made of heavy-duty glass.

One is not allowed to photograph the artifacts in the first few galleries, but I was able to photograph a bunch of others, including the ORIGINAL Caryatids! (I love their hair!)

One of the museum’s “logo” pieces is the Pensive Athena. Isn’t it lovely! She’s wearing a Corinthian helmet, a symbol of her prowess in battle.

The bull just really struck me as darling! OK, so he was probably sacrificed, but, well, there it is.

The bull (above) and the metope below can be found on the top floor of the museum where the metopes and pediments and friezes of the Parthenon are replicated or displayed as if they were still on the temple itself.

We had free time after we were finished at the Acropolis Museum, so I toddled off to the Hard Rock Cafe, which is located not all that far from the entrance to the Agora. As I ambled down the hill, I saw the tower below and realized that I was walking right past the Tower of the Winds, which is part of the Roman Agora, which was built after Rome took Athens (1st century BCE or so).

In addition to the Tower of the Winds, which was a clock as well as other things, there were several other structures, including the Library of Hadrian. Hadrian was a confirmed Hellenophile. He’d been educated in Athens, as had other kings, and had viewed Athens as his second home.

I ordered a Purple Haze at the Hard Rock. And damn... IT WAS DELICIOUS! After a while, I moseyed back to the hotel, satisfied with my day of touring.
