i've been in a very "nostalgic for SpongeBob" mood lately and that's warranted a lot of reflecting on Baby Me being a Sponge fanatic and thinking of what she'd think of now. and i have to say that one of my favorite parts of doing what i do--and also the most stupidly niche--is that one of my first online hyperfixations i recall having was SpongeBob production music. i remember animating magical girl transformations in Flipnote to SPONGEBOB MUSIC. i remember feeling so smart researching all the songs and getting to hear them without any dialogue on top. very gratifying to 11 year old me. i was and am still very fixated on production music, and so i always get very excited when seeing uploads of these songs and spotting a screenshot of a scene i worked on among them. one of my favorite aspects of watching episodes premiere is seeing what music they added on top of scenes i touched. it's just neat how many facets my thankfulness for Doing What I'm Doing gets to reach. i'm never not thinking of how grateful i am to be doing what i'm doing

#i have a life dictated by cartoons and it is genuinely so wonderful #it can be very stressful and usually i am my own worst stressor #but i'm lucky that stuff like 'i don't have enough time to draw these cartoons' 'i can't write about cartoons fast enough' 'i have too many #cartoons to draw' are my issues #it's hard and taxing work and not easy but i never once have not been in love with my job or my hobbies or my passions #i've been having difficulty managing my time lately and getting into a funk because of how i can't draw enough or write quick enough #and i think i just need to SLOW. THE HELL. DOWN. nobody is going to crucify me. i'm drawing hundreds of individual drawings a week of cours #i'm not going to be drawing as much as i once was #but i'm very aware of how grateful i am to be having such an issue #and so i'm rambling incoherently about it here!#so: thanks for reading! thanks for your support #i know i've been awful keeping up with messages and i really am making an effort to manage my time better i am always always on the go #but your support means so much to me and i read every tag every ask every DM. yes even that one #it's just important for me to stress because i often don't have the capacity to respond but i am so grateful for my followers and your #support and presence. so thank you

i like my main style well enough bc i love paying attention to details of the human body but id love to explore another that's more toward the stylization side of the scale... solely bc it is true that the more realistic something skews the easier it is to really see flaws that dont align... i want something more flowy and visually interesting... hm hm hm hm hm

#talkys #like sometimes artists will draw huge feet with simplified circle shaped shoes with no detail #i could not get away with that it would look off ! but i also dont care about learning to draw shoes rn (for example)#so i wanna find an in between #i did this well with a cheye i drew like a year ago... that was a good balance. idk how to do it consistently and with other characters tho #ill see if i can reblog it shortly i can see it rly clearly in my mind #i gave him funny circle feet and everything #and i gave in to stylization of proportions despite them not being similar to mine #hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm #another thing i wanna say abt this is like #at the zine fest i was much more interested in zines with simplified funny little styles #than the people who were selling full on published volumes of comics #and i feel like im on the comic sides. well not completely bc again im always looking to get away with not knowing how to draw shit #like shoes. or. perspective #but im more leaning toward that side than like. fun early 2000s cartoon style....ykwim #but the issue is i also cant fully lean into ''fun'' styles bc i looooove the human body so much yup yup yup

#ok i think some people are misinterpreting this. so: this is about the OFFICIAL archie sonic artists #not fanartists. though im sure my complaints in this post can apply to a lot of fanart too #and this also wasnt about characters not being drawn perfectly on model it was about certain characters being drawn weirdly sexualized #ok original tags:#just saw some really bad panels oh my GOD #i hate how some of the artists would draw the girls like oversexualized human women with sonic character heads #especially when they drew all of the boys and even some of the girls normally so they clearly knew how to draw sonic characters #and its not like the characters who were often drawn weirdly always looked like that either #if you go back to the earliest issues sally and bunnie just looked like cute little cartoon animals #not whatever the hell these other artists were doing

Fantasy webcomics got me itching to rant about horses again

I swear I go through this every time

The curse of knowing too much

#i have this issue with movies and shows too #i do my best to put my blinders on but goddamn...sometimes its just too agregious #i can deal with the blatant disregard for horse anatomy #horses are weird and hard to draw if you dont know exactly how they move and how their joints work #but please for the sake of everything you hold dear OF COURSE YOURE GOING TO BE UNSTABLE AND FALL IF YOU GET OFF OF A HORSE FACING OUTWARDS #PLEASE DEAR GOD ITS LIKE A LADDER STOP HAVING THEM GET OFF LIKE THAT THATS HOW YOU GET TANGLED IN THE TACK AND DIE #well maybe not die but get hurt because if you get tangled while getting down you could really get hurt #and if youre going to get down facing outwards you disengage from every bit of your tack and make sure you arent brushing against the saddle #as you get down #but jumping down is a great way to roll your ankle #can you imagine getting hung up on the saddle and dangling there just like a cartoon character who got hung up on a clothing hook?#at least if you are facing the horse and saddle #you can detangle your clothing easily #still embarrassing but manageable #ugh im already ranting #you cant learn anything without consequences

Hey anon! If I do set up commissions I would be happy to! I had to google them but it would be no problem 😊

Main thing for now is figuring out prices and also just what kind of layouts I'm offering. I likely won't do anything more than a simple 2 or 3 panel comic because I'm actually *the* slowest artist in the world. No joke, there's a reason I don't colour the fetish stuff I put up here, asides from the aesthetic of the pink noses 😅

paypal makes me become evil Actually

#frank.txt #im glad the refund worked but im just so mad thst every few months or so i have to deal with a random account charge #and itll take straight from my bank which. AAA #thats why i was freaking out<3 if my paypal was just -$200 id slowly fix it but id also still be pissed #but this took $221 from my.bank account almost leaving me in the negatives so i had a panic attack<3 #luckily it was fixed and paypal issued a refund. they dont take the random $20 charges seriously but the $200+ one was worrisome enough ig #goddd i feel silly complaining about it . it just Terrified me . BC disability pays Nothing so that kinda screwed me ovr until late december #but its fixed so i can stop panicking abt That and just work on commissions and other stuff. eughddh #i just wanna focus on drawing cartoons pls.....pls
