To everyone who wants to write Lassie I highly recommend watching Carter & June (2017), aka the Spencer Rabbit Movie (gangster Lassie?) feat. others 💕
Flamboyant Lassie doing multiple brutal murder? Yes please! 🔥🔥🔥
I would love to read sth with a brutal undercover/dark/pre-police Lassie but given my lvl of writing in English I’d rather leave that to the professionals 🙈

On this day: January 13, 1968
Johnny Cash and June Carter performed at Folsom State Prison in Folsom, California. There were two performances on this day, both of which were compiled into 3x Platinum certified At Folsom Prison live album. At the time of these performances, Cash's career and personal life were in turmoil, but the album compiled from these performances launched him back into the charts and changed his trajectory. Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues," a moderstely successful single from his 1956 debut album, With His Hot And Blue Guitar, was a staple of his performance at Folsom State Prison and received a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male in 1969 before becoming one of the most recognizable songs of the genre. Cash was a popular artist among America's incarcerated population, and previously played at Folsom State Prison in 1966 and later performed at San Quentin State Prison before ultimately testifying in front of Congress in favor of prison reform in 1972. During this 1968 performance at Folsom State Prison, Cash performed the song "Greystone Chapel," written by the inmate Glen Sherley, who then went in to become a country music artist himself after Cash popularized his song. Some of the most iconic pictures of Cash also hail from this performance.

“But I will dance, I will sing, and my laugh shall be gay I will charm every heart, in this crown I will sway But I long to see him then regret the dark hour He's gone and neglected this frail wildwood flower Well, he taught me to love him and he called me his flower That was blooming to cheer him through life's scary hour And my heart is now wondering, oh, misery can tell He's left me no warning, no words of farewell”
From Wildwood Flower, June Carter Cash
