Arachne Blight-Daughter of Chaos - CR20 Aberration

A powerful drider boss with disease powers, based on the Daughter of Chaos from Dark Souls.

The Daughter of Chaos, also called the Fair Lady in the in-game dialogue, is, despite appearances, a friendly character in Dark Souls 1.  Due to the blight she’s contracted, she’s in a weakened state, and if attacked, simply dies in one hit without fighting back.  This Pathfinder creature is meant to function as an actual boss fight, though, and is only loosely inspired by the Dark Souls creature.

Unlike typical driders which all have the upper body of drow, the Arachne Blight-Daughter of Chaos is a fair-skinned surface elf - thus the term “drider” isn’t actually accurate for her.  Her mother, consorting with the demon lord Flauros in an attempt to forcibly bring light to the Darklands - one of the same demon lords that the drow worship as deities - was overwhelmed by the demonic powers she touched.  She was destroyed, and in the process, cursed her daughters with the same kind of arachnid transformation that affects driders.  The Arachne Blight-Daughter of Chaos spreads her parasitic eggs into the underdark, infecting its inhabitants so that their bodies are consumed by her brood.  Drow and other driders consider her and her followers to be enemy invaders.

The Burdened Egg Carrier that I released stats for some time back was designed to be either a servant or victim of the Arachne Blight-Daughter of Chaos.  It’s a very low level creature, but that just means you can fill her lair with literally dozens of them, and have them all aid each other as they attack.  You could apply the template to something stronger, however, if you actually want to use a Burdened Egg Carrier as an enemy in the same adventure as the players fight this boss.

The defiant glaive lets her use Heroic Defiance and Heroic Recovery 5 times per day instead of just once.  If she casts gloomblind bolts, she typically casts quickened fractions of heal and harm first.

Arachne Blight-Daughter of Chaos - CR 20

Embedded into the back of this massive sickly spider is the upper body of a pale-skinned woman with bleached-white hair and distinctly elven features. The spider-like abdomen is covered in open red sores, and draped with long strands of webbing that hangs from the enormous spider legs like cobwebs.  All together, this aberration stands perhaps fourteen feet tall and twenty feet wide, and could easily stretch out to twice those dimensions if needed.

Divine Chaos Protection (Su) Once per hour, when a creature within 60 ft. of the arachne blight-daughter of chaos makes any d20 roll, after the results of the roll are revealed, she can force the d20 to be rerolled with either a +1d20 or -1d20 bonus (her choice).  After she does so, she loses her spell resistance for the next hour.

Blighted Blisters (Ex) An arachne blight-daughter of chaos is covered in blighted blisters.  Each time she is dealt more than 5 points of bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage from a single attack, one of these blisters bursts, releasing a cloud of harmful blight in a burst that affects creatures within 5 feet of her.  This blight enters the lungs of all living creatures within the cloud that need to breathe unless they succeed on a DC 32 Fortitude save, and deals 1d6+8 points of damage immediately, plus an additional 1d6+8 points of damage every round until the disease is healed.  This is a disease effect.  A creature that is already suffering from the disease but fails the saving throw simply takes the damage again immediately.

If the arachne blight-daughter of chaos is killed, her blisters burst all at once in a larger radius, affecting all living creatures within 50 feet of her that need to breathe unless they succeed on a DC 37 Fortitude save.  The save DC is Constitution-based, and the DC of the effect triggering on her death includes a +5 circumstance bonus.

Implant Eggs (Ex) A living creature hit by an arachne blight-daughter of chaos’s bite or weapon attack must succeed on a DC 32 Fortitude save against a disease effect or take 1d6 Con and Cha drain.  If a target takes a total of 9 Con and Cha drain from multiple applications of this effect, the target immediately gains the burdened egg carrier template.  The save DC is Constitution-based.

Poison (Ex) Bite—injury; save Fort DC 32; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Str and Dex, and fatigued; cure 2 saves. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Profanity of the Blight (Su) An arachne blight-daughter of chaos gains a profane bonus to her AC and all of her damage rolls equal to her Wisdom bonus.  This is already calculated into her statistics and abilities.

Sickening Waves (Su) Once every 1d4 rounds, as a free action, an arachne blight-daughter of chaos can release waves of sickening energy in a 60-foot cone.  Creatures in this cone must succeed on a DC 32 Fortitude save or be sickened for 1 day.  A creature that is already sickened and fails its saving throw doubles the penalty from being sickened for 1 round, in addition to having the duration refreshed.  The save DC is Constitution-based.

The True Blight (Su) As a move action, an arachne blight-daughter of chaos can attempt to permanently remove a target’s resistance and immunity to disease.   Unless the target succeeds on a DC 33 Will save, it loses immunity to disease, and loses any bonus to saving throws it has specifically against disease effects, regardless of whether that immunity or bonus is supernatural, extraordinary, a result of its creature type, or gained in a different way.  This is a transmutation effect.  The save DC is Charisma-based.

Undersized Weapons (Ex) Although an arachne blight-daughter of chaos is Gargantuan, her upper torso is the same size as that of a Medium humanoid’s upper torso.  As a result, she wields weapons as if she were three size categories smaller than her actual size (typically Medium).

The way he was constantly putting up a fight and never giving in while they were holding him prisoner, and the smugness he had when he took the phase shifter away from him leaving him trapped in the wall was just too adorable. He will always be grateful to Arcee for helping him get close to the mech. 

It took some time to win him over but it was worth it when he finally did. When he sparkbonded with Smokescreen he felt like the happiest mech ever. When Smokescreen told him he was sparked he was shocked at first and uncertain if he even wanted to be a sire, but the idea grew on him and he decided to be happy about it, especially since it was with the love of his life. When Sideswipe was born he loved him in an instant. Knock Out couldn't have been prouder than he was when he found out that Sideswipe was on Bumblebee's team and helping him capture Decepticons.

"I don't think you do," he says with a smirk. He knows he shouldn't be teasing her like this, he doesn't need to ruin this moment, but he just can't help himself. Not when he's watching his femme; the femme that has always been putting on a tough act and showing so much hate towards him; fall to pieces under his touch. But deep down in his cold spark, he's filled with joy that she's finally starting to come around.

Strongarm wraps her arms around his neck with one servo resting on the back of his helm, her thumb rubbing against the base of his ear as she moves her hips to rub against his spike. She's too far into it now and she needs relief, "Steeljaw, please frag me." Never in her life did she imagine that she would be begging a 'Con to frag her, she never thought she would be begging any mech to frag her let alone a 'Con. But Steeljaw got her all worked up and she's too overheated to care.

Steeljaw decides to quit this game of making her beg and just give in to what she wants, he sticks his spike back into her port and starts thrusting slowly. He holds her tightly as he inhales her sweet scent, his spike gets harder and he starts pounding into her which causes the femme to squeak before moaning. It still amazes him that just smelling her scent can turn him on so much, no other femme has ever had this kind of effect on him which makes her stand out so much from the others. He's not gonna just let her go without a fight.

Strongarm tightens her arms around his neck as she wraps her legs around his hips to pull him closer and make him go deeper, "Oh, Steeljaw... AH!" She moans as Steeljaw pounds her into the ground. Giant Mutant Giant Giant Mole - CR15 Animal

What do you get when you take a giant giant mole, and then mutate it, and then giant-size it?

You needed a boss for your giant giant mole dungeon, right?

Giant mutant giant giant moles, aside from being thirty feet long and twenty feet tall, also have the ability to mutate people they bite in a sort of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles kind of way. This functions as lycanthropy, transforming the target into a were-dogmole. Dogmoles aren't an official Pathfinder creature, but are Large-sized moles that were published by Open Design LLC in the Midgard Bestiary for Pathfinder RPG. If you want a stat block for a merely giant mole (as opposed to a giant giant mole), that's the one to use; just replace its Wormkiller Rage with this creature's Crop-Devouring Rage (or don't; I'm not your mom).

Giant mutant giant giant moles themselves aren't lycanthropes, but are able to carry and transmit the curse.

This creature uses the "overwhelmed" condition, a condition that I use for a lot of monsters.  I’ve previously used it for the First World Responder, but in my own games I nearly always replace the stunned, paralyzed and nauseated conditions with overwhelmed when enemies inflict those conditions onto PCs.

Crop-Devouring Rage (Ex) Once per hour, if a giant mutant giant giant mole spends a standard action eating crops or other edible plants, it can enter a rage similar to an unchained barbarian's rage. It gains a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls and 36 temporary hit points, but suffers a -2 penalty to AC. This rage lasts for a number of rounds equal to its hit dice plus its Constitution modifier (typically 26 rounds), and the giant mutant giant giant mole is fatigued for 1 minute after the rage ends. Unlike a barbarian, a giant mutant giant giant mole cannot end its rage voluntarily.

Curse of Lycanthropy (Su) Although a giant mutant giant giant mole is not itself a lycanthrope, it is a carrier for lycanthropy, and can transmit it through its bite. i hate it here. i don’t know if i can handle spending the night with them both anymore. i feel like a nuisance. a third wheel. just something getting in the way.

a spider appeared in my car. i physically cannot move when there’s a spider. i completely freeze up. and if i try to do anything else i will have a full panic attack/meltdown. i. cannot. do. spiders. and she got so pissed at me. i had nothing to smush it. it didn’t go a way that i could hit it out the window. i physically couldn’t do anything. and it made its way over to her side and they also couldn’t do anything. so after a while of absolute silence and tension they finally told me to just go. okay. cool. so what’s the plan with the 2 drink carriers and 2 bags of food? now i was definitely kinda rushed in saying that, and came across pushy and maybe even a little shitty but i just had a really rough shift and there’s a fucking spider in my car that’s supposed to be my only safe space right now, but she got mad at me for asking and i could see once we actually got going that she was texting our other friend, probably ranting about the whole situation which is valid, like it was really wonky but it also makes me feel like shit and i don’t know what to do about it.

they keep correcting me on my own existence. they say i am asleep the whole time. from 1-4 i slept maybe 2 hours if. and when i was out. i was generally out, but most of it was me with my headphones trying not to have a meltdown and just fucking ignoring them because they do not fucking understand that i just don’t care. they might be able to function off of 3 hours of sleep but if i even try, with the shit i do in a day, i will have a meltdown and die. i can barely function on a normal 7-8 hour 12-8am sleep i realistically probably need to sleep 10+ hours with the amount of stuff i do in a shift but if i did i simply wouldn’t have a life.

i talk about how i push all shift, and it feels like she tries to show me up by saying how many racks she pushed. which yes. it sucks how much you had to do but i also did a lot and it doesn’t feel good when i try to rant about work and you IMMIDIATLY hit me with how bad your shift was, or how thats “normal” to you or you’ve had worse. like i love you but genuinely shut the fuck up i cannot handle it much longer.

today was good work wise, productive, not overwhelming as much as it’s been. good people? talked to him quite a bit, starting to build a genuine connection, and humor between the two of us, along with mentioning some things about trans existence. nothing major, just mentioning that i’ve only been going by K- for about a year. he made a joke i should go as a ghost for halloween, and i made a joke that with normal friends would be funny but i don’t know if it actually landed with him.

tomorrow i get to meet kittens when i go play d&d and im so excited. they are what’s keeping me going this week. i’m so excited to leave work early, same time as him. and i’m so excited to go and see cats. and to sleep in my own bed after, and then not work until 3 the day after but it’s also the easy job. i cannot wait until 845pm so i can be over this week and start next week maybe a little bit more normal
