Okay. Just to make the post about Sera and Carmilla possibly knowing about Sera being pregnant just a little bit worse. Just for the sake of angst.
They know about Emily’s existence. You know who they don’t know… Vaggie’s. Surprise it’s twins. Except when Carmilla gets sent to Hell and they get separated. Sera is never made aware of it. At first the elders determine that she would be too biased to be included in the trial.
But then nobody tells her. Nobody takes up the responsibility and eventually everyone assumes someone else has.
When the children are born. A mix of anger from suddenly being left with no explanation. Giving birth on her own, the drugs of child birth, and the postpartum depression leads Sera to rejecting one of the children.
The one that looks too much like a love she has lost. Without a goodbye. Without a word. Without a trace.
She of course regrets it almost immediately, but the action is already done. The unnamed baby is gone and there is no trace of where she has been taken.
It’s only years later when the family is seemingly whole where Vaggie shows up at Carmilla’s doorstep and Sera is face with the hardest decision of her life. Because when she looks at Vaggie, she sees her wife, and deep inside she knows.
She also has to grapple that her quick choose all those years ago has left the girl blind in one eye and with such severe need for therapy in the form of low self esteem, attachment issues, abandonment issues, mommy issues, ptsd, etc.
Wait. Hold on a minute. Wait. Waaaait. Hold on a minute.
WAIT.
This is diabolical, anon.
They BOTH have twins -- Carmilla with Odette and Clara, and Sera with Emily and Vaggie. But Vaggie is the only one thrown out because she reminds Sera too much of Carmilla, who just disappeared with no explanation?? Okay, yeah.
The High Seraphim has just lost her love without warning. Then she's dealing with childbirth all by herself, taking care of two newborns alone, with post-partum depression, and she at some point abandons Vaggie because she reminds Sera too much of the partner who just disappeared one day without explanation.
Sera doesn't know what happened -- something horrible possibly, but for all she knows, Carmilla abandoned her. So she just completely rejects Vaggie like a mother bird might. She barely has enough energy to take care of herself now, let alone two babies, so she gravitates to Emily, who looks more like her, and who doesn't remind her of Carmilla.
Sera gives Vaggie to someone she thinks will take care of her, but whoops, they weren't trustworthy at all. In fact, they were one of the angels hiding Carmilla's whereabouts from her. Somehow, Vaggie ends up in Adam's hands, like a lot of abandoned angels do, but by the time Sera realizes her mistake and tries to get Vaggie back, the person she trusted with Vaggie's care has already traded the child off to Adam for favor. They refuse to tell her where Vaggie is, Sera enters a decades-long depression, and becomes extremely overprotective of Emily as a result. The rest is history.
She had never even given a Vaggie a name.
(Is that angsty enough?)

Okay, so, the "Vox's kids die as children AU." I came up with the image of Vox keeping his kids in a fish tank first, but upon further reflection, I've realized that it doesn't really line up with the timeline I've established.
Vox's children were 7 and 10 when he died (1957)
Vox worked under an overlord for 3 years after his death until he broke free, started his own business, and met Alastor (1960)
He and Alastor were friends for 6 years until they fell out (1966)
Vox gained official overlord status 2 years later (1968). By the time Vox had the resources for the fish tank plan, his kids would've been 18 and 21.
The only window of time where Thomas and Sarah can die and still be children is 1957-1961, so it would have to happen when Vox was still in the employ of his overlord. I actually think the idea of struggling single dad Vox is really charming, so let's go with that.
With that background, I'm not sure if Vox would feel the need to do the fish tank thing since they went a decade without anything going wrong. Maybe it exists, but Sarah and Thomas aren't confined to it 24/7. Everyone already knows they exist, so they're allowed to move around the tower as they please (they are absolutely not allowed to go outside, though).
Okay, with that out of the way, onto the responses. Gonna answer this in parts: this one is the pre-canon stuff, the next will be the canon stuff, and the third will be RAM stuff.
Ondine & Fineas where they die as kids: How does child Sarah and Thomas react to: 1-Dying 2-Going to Hell 3-Reuniting with your dead Dad (who now has a TV for a head) Would any of their Sinner features be different? Is it weird I can see Vox being more fatherly to Sarah and Thomas than he was in his human life? So when Sarah & Thomas die as kids does Vox find them before or after his big fight with Alastor? If before, what would Alastor make of the situation? How long does Sarah and Thomas fend for themselves in Hell? A few days, a few weeks, a month, a year? Did someone find the first? Did Vox only learn his kids were in Hell when someone was using them as blackmail against him? Did Sarah and Thomas watch as their father brutally murder their kidnapper in front of them? Maybe another Overlord (like Carmilla, Zestial, or Rosie) found them and gave them to Vox because they felt threatening children was beneath them and drew the line at hurting kids. Wait what if Alastor found them first? What would he do with them if he did?
Okay, so Sarah and Thomas die somewhere between 1958 and 1959. They still drowned, maintaining their aquatic theming, but I'm not sure how exactly– could've been from their mother driving under the influence and crashing the car through a bridge's guardrails, could've been just regular drowning at the beach or something. Their mother survives, so they land in Hell alone (I have no idea what an 8~9 and 11~12-year-old could've done to get sent to Hell, but let's just move on).
Not sure how Vox finds them. In the main AU, they found him by recognizing his voice in an advertisement and seeking him out, but at this point, Vox is just some random nobody. Let's just assume he got extremely lucky and happened to come across them 1-30 days after they first arrived but before anyone else thought to scoop them up. Vox is horrified that they're dead and in Hell and privately swears to permakill his wife for letting this happen if he ever sees her again. He brings them back to his shitty little apartment and starts trying to figure out how the fuck he's supposed to care for children in Hell.
Despite the circumstances, Vox is actually a better father in Hell than he was on Earth. He has nothing to his name other than a shitty errand boy job, a tiny apartment, and his two small children who he thought he'd never see again. While the stress of having to provide for them is a beast, losing everything sort of forced him to get his priorities in order in regards to them. They become far more tight-knit than when they were alive as Vox is forced to spend more time with them and get creative when it comes to meeting their needs.
It's all quite the adjustment for Thomas and Sarah. Dying and trying to survive on the streets was as traumatizing as you'd expect. Reuniting with your dead dad and having to adjust to living in poverty is also a lot to take in. Every day, they're stuck in a one-room apartment with gunshots constantly going off outside and explicit instructions from their father to be as quiet as possible and not open the door for anyone– very different from the upper-middle-class suburbanite life they were used to. Eventually, their dad will come home with cheap food, they'll spend some time together, and then all curl up in their one bed and try to sleep. Wash, rinse, repeat. It's not a comfortable life, but it's definitely more intimate than how things used to be. Thomas starts letting go of some of his resentment of Vox since he can tell he's actually trying now, and Sarah's view of him as A Good Dad, Actually solidifies.
Eventually, Vox secretly kills his overlord, starts his first business, and is taken under Alastor's wing. Things become more comfortable for the three of them, and Alastor becomes something akin to a weird but fun uncle to the kids. Things are looking up for the family as Vox starts to build power and wealth. It's horrifying for the kids when Vox comes home one night without a head and swears vengeance on Alastor, but that incident only adds to Vox's upward momentum. After ten years of struggling in Hell, Thomas and Sarah (or rather, Fineas and Ondine) find themselves back in the lap of luxury as their father claims the title of the Overlord of Television.

Gonna pull a Proto Vox post and put all my "Vox's kids die as children and reunite with him in Hell" stuff here so the reblog chain doesn't get too long. All the prompts included are from @storm-ismyusername.

Lowkey enamored with the idea of struggling single dad Vox. Have some miscellaneous ideas:
Vox doesn't have a functional mouth yet, so the kids are the only ones who have to eat. He tries to figure out if he can use his electricity to cook/heat up food.
He's at work all day, so Thomas and Sarah are stuck alone in the apartment with very little to do. Thomas teaches Sarah to read up to a 5th-grade level. They might have a radio to keep them entertained. Whenever Alastor's doing his "screams of dying overlords" broadcasts, they're supposed to shut it off.
Vox has to rediscover some long-forgotten sewing knowledge since the kids need clothes that aren't falling apart.
When he's around, he'll play things on his screen for them as a form of entertainment. It's sort of like making up a story on the spot since Hell doesn't have any television broadcasts for him to tap into yet.
It's always a treat when they're able to go out as a family, usually for dinner. Vox feels bad that he can't provide them with anything nicer than fast food, but the kids are just thrilled to be out of the apartment, eating something "good," and spending time with him.
Due to cabin fever, the kids are much more rambunctious than they were when they were alive.
Vox is trying to decide whether he should let them acclimatize to Hell or continue treating them like human children.
Once Alastor enters their life, Sarah adores him (that is, after she gets over his initial creepiness).
Sometimes the kids will ask Vox why he pours all his time and money into building a television from scratch (and why it has to take up so much of their precious floor space). He tells them florid stories about how, once it's finished, it'll make them the richest sinners in Hell. Thomas helps him with it sometimes.
The kids' chosen sinner names change every other day.
Vox has a whole system worked out to make sure the kids have the building's communal bathroom all to themselves in the mornings (i.e., just play lookout and hypnotize anyone who tries to enter into walking away).
Tom and Sarah have devised some sort of cockroach/bug-killing game during their days stuck in the apartment.
Vox struggles to come to terms with the fact that his kids are never going to grow up. They're going to be 11 and 8 forever, the same way he'll eternally be just a week away from his 38th birthday.
He's pissed at God/Lucifer/whoever for letting this happen. What could children possibly have done to deserve Hell?
Exterminations are difficult. Vox used to be able to just hide in the electrical grid and wait it out, but now he's got two small children who can't dematerialize like he can.
Sarah has nightmares about losing her dad again, for good this time. The trauma of losing a parent isn't undone by getting said parent back.
Both kids actually feel like they know their father now. He's no longer this distant figure in their lives who only emerges to give them expensive gifts, show them off at parties, tell Tommy he's not doing [whatever] right, and get in screaming matches with their mom. Vox isn't a great dad, but at least he's trying now, and that goes a long way in Thomas and Sarah's eyes.

Made Vox's apartment in the Sims
—
Nice touch that the toys are made of paper, something Sarah & Thomas probably made themselves (with a little help from Vox) since I can't imagine there's a huge (children's) toy industry in Hell. A bat on the wall in case of break ins. Various stains. AC. The TV Vox is working on. The bed looks bigger than I imagined, but I guess Sims did have too many options. A bucket of toiletries in the corner to take with them on their trips to the communal restroom. A box full of (all of their) clothes. Two pairs of shoes (presumably Sarah & Thomas'). Oh it looks like Vox managed to find a stuffed rabbit plus for Sarah! Where did he find that? Did he make it himself? An ironing board (makes sense). A small closet with a mirror. A calendar. And a power box (considering Vox's abilities it makes sense to have one near)!
They either got the bunny from a store catering to Hellborn children or made it themselves (Vox is rapidly relearning how to sew, and Sarah has a bit of sewing knowledge from her home ec classes). Vox's income usually goes towards only two things– keeping the three of them alive and building the TV– but occasionally, the shame of barely being able to provide his kids with anything gets the better of him and he'll "splurge" on small gifts. Sarah was delighted with it; she'll take any comfort she can get in this place.
Regarding the bed, yeah, the Sims only has double, single, and toddler beds. It would need to be a decent size in order to fit all of them though. Sarah and Tom are child-sized, but Vox is seven feet tall and has a CRT for a head. If he didn't already have one, he would've needed to get his hands on a bigger bed unless he wanted to sleep on the floor.
It's funny, the Sims only has two options for calendars: a dog one that's a bit too cutesy to really fit the vibes of this place, and a "Sims in uniform" one. Before the kids showed up, Vox's calendar having a bunch of succubi in sexy costumes wasn't an issue, but now that they are here, that thing's going in the trash... until Vox realizes how hard it is to find non-risque calendars in Hell.
—
I can totally see Sarah (& maybe Thomas) calling Alastor “Uncle Alastor”. Would they call Rosie “Auntie Rosie”?
Vox has them call him "Mister Alastor." Regardless of how emotionally invested Vox is in their relationship, he's very afraid of coming across as overly attached and scaring Al off. Having his kids refer to Alastor as family feels wrong, so having them keep things respectful, yet formal seems like the better option. Rosie would definitely tell them to call her "Auntie" if she ever met them, though.
I wonder what nice things Alastor would do for the kids? Do you think they sometimes appear on Alastor’s radio show? Oh now I’m picturing Alastor and Sarah singing “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile”! Soooo Cute!!! Maybe that’s how they find out about Sarah’s Siren abilities?
Depends on if Alastor does shows that aren't just live audio of overlords being murdered. If he does, then I can see Vox offering to lend him a hand with it and Alastor, in return, telling him he can bring his kids along. From there, yeah, it'd be absolutely adorable if Alastor put Sarah on a stool to reach the mic and sang a song with her ("Never Fully Dressed" wasn't written until 1976 but shhhh).
Would Vox ever give the details of his and Alastor’s falling out? (Though I think Sarah & Thomas would eventually connect the dots.) It would be funny if Alastor was still super nice to the kids even though he and Vox are rivals.
No, I don't think Vox would ever elaborate. Explaining it to the kids would require him to reflect on why it went wrong to begin with, so he just... never does. Alastor remains respectful and friendly if he ever runs into the kids again, but those occasions would be few and VERY far between, given how possessive/protective Vox is of them.
Vox being a good dad to his kids is so sweet!! Nothing brings people together like shared misery!! I can see a cute bonding moment where Vox teaches Sarah how to tap dance (since his leg is fine now).
Oh, no, Vox is never teaching either of his kids how to dance. Singing, piano, stage presence, maybe, but never tap dance.
—
Ondine & Fineas where they die as kids: How does child Sarah and Thomas react to: 4-Your Dad scooping you up and locking you into a fish tank for decades. 5-Valentino
It's... weird when Valentino enters Vox's life. They hit it off immediately, and as time goes on, Vox wants to incorporate Val into more aspects of his life. The kids throw a spanner in the works, though. Messing with children is the one line Valentino won't cross, but he's still not exactly the type of person you want around your kids. Vox can only listen to his better angels for so long, though. The two of them make a deal where Val agrees never to do anything to harm Vox's kids in exchange for [something], and Vox introduces them (he's lowkey planning on moving in with Val eventually, so they might as well get it out of the way instead of springing it on them).
Val's charming and fun when he first meets Fineas and Ondine, but it doesn't take long for them to realize that he's not a good guy. Those misgivings solidify once the tower is built and they all move in together. Vox works hard to keep his kids as sheltered as possible, but it's hard to keep certain things on the down low once you're all living together. It's a lot to come to terms with– realizing that not only is your dad in a relationship with another man, but said man is a violent, sexually exploitative monster who's constantly breaking up and then getting back together with him. Val's generally decent with the kids, but he's still this uncomfortable, looming presence in their afterlives. They wish Vox could've just stayed friends with Alastor instead; he was kinda scary, too, but they'd definitely prefer him as a "step-dad" over Valentino.
Would they stay mentally children or be mentally adults in children’s bodies? I honestly don’t know which is worse. (I do think the former’s more interesting though.)
Sort of an in between. They're eternally stuck as children maturity-wise, but they have decades of new experiences continuously being layered over that stunted baseline. Sinner children generally come across as kind of unsettling in a vague, undefinable way. They're clearly still kids, but there's something about them that's just... off.
What do they think of Vark? The metal image of child Sarah and Thomas riding Vark like a horse will not leave me.
Ondine loves Vark (and all of Vox's other sharks). Fineas is scared of him but tries to act tough about it. This is why Ondine is the favorite /j
If Sarah still discovers her Siren powers would Vox still try to find a way to capitalize it? Now I’m thinking of Vox forcing Thomas, Velvette, Valentino, and maybe his employees to watch Sarah sing and to clap every time.
Depends on how skittish Vox is about putting his kids in the public eye in this scenario. He wants his family to become sinner aristocracy, but literally broadcasting your weak point to all your rivals isn't exactly a good idea. If he decides to throw caution to the winds (and can compartmentalize his own childhood trauma), I can see him putting them in his shows. Sinner children are fairly rare, so if a piece of media needs kid characters, their only options are Hellborn kids or sinners who look like children for one reason or another. If Vox decides to keep them cloistered, then yeah, mandatory "watch the CEO's daughter sing" meeting at 3:00. Everyone's docile and spaced out afterwards, but that's a bonus! (at least, Vox says it is)
I can see a scenario where Valentino is screaming at the kids and Vox attacking Val to protect his kids, or in general calling out Val & Vel anytime he sees them treat his kids poorly.
Val and Vel know better than to do anything to threaten Vox's kids, although, yeah, there are probably some times when they snap at them and then get into arguments with Vox. Not a good time for Ondine, give how conflict adverse she is. Hearing her dad raise his voice at all always evokes a fear response in her. Bad memories.
How often would Sarah and Thomas be allowed to be kids? To be silly and goofy and have fun? (I’m assuming not often.)
They're not really able to do anything but be kids once Vox has the means for them to live comfortably. They're never going to grow up, both physically and mentally, and Vox doesn't really push them to act like adults. It's not quite a "Claudia from IWTV" situation, since any frustration would stem from being stuck doing the same thing for decades rather than not being able to age, but there's elements of that.
How much would Vox try to hide the more inappropriate stuff from his kids? How long until you think he gives up?
Vox tried to keep them pretty thoroughly sheltered during the first decade or two, but yeah, eventually he resigns himself to the fact that this is just how Hell is. He doesn't let Val flaunt his sex stuff in front of them, but if someone swears in their presence, he's not going to reprimand them (unless they're an employee and he's feeling petty).
Do you think Vox would import cartoons, books, and toys from Earth for them?
He can't import physical objects from Earth, but he can replicate them as best he can based on the Earthly broadcasts and descriptions from newly arrived sinners. There's probably at least one VoxTek employee locked up in a sweatshop somewhere who's stuck building toys for their contract-holder's children.
Would Vox bother with giving them a proper education?
To the best of his ability. Vox was actually "homeschooled" back when he was touring with his parents, although in reality, his education was put on the back burner, and once he finally started attending real school at age ten, he was reading at about a first grade level. During that first decade in Hell, he'd try to teach Sarah and Thomas things here and there, but he didn't really have the time to commit to it. Thomas ended up teaching Sarah a lot of stuff during those days stuck in the apartment, but given how he died at age 11, they only got so far. Once Vox hit it big though, yeah, he was definitely hiring tutors to finish their education. In 2024, Ondine and Fineas are better educated than most adults, despite being eternally stuck at ages 8 and 11. Sort of adds to their uncanny vibes, despite how cute they appear.
Once Vox becomes an Overlord do you think he buys/customizes a robofizz to act as the kids nanny/bodyguard? What would the kids name them?
Oh yeah, totally. The kids have non-synthetic tutors/nannies/bodyguards, but it gives Vox some peace of mind to have one who he knows he can "trust"/control completely. The kids might name it "Sparky," after their dog, but "Claudia" would also be fun, just for the reference.
...or fucking renesmee. ondine would be behind that.
Possible reasons Sarah & Thomas are in Hell: 1-They’re mother (& father) told them to keep silent to certain illegal things she(/he) does, so they’re technically accomplices. 2-Partially responsible for the death of someone, which could count as manslaughter. 3-Accidentally ate human flesh, cannibalism. 4-Killed a puppy by accident, puppy killing’s pretty evil.
Sdfghgfdfg. I can see Thomas accidentally shooting an animal with a BB gun (or doing it on a dare from his friends). Right now, I'm leaning towards Hell working on The Good Place rules, where your destiny depends on the net impact you had on the world. Poor Tommy and Sarah got sent to Hell just for being rich, privileged, White children from the 1950s with bad parents.
Man, Exterminations must have been terrifying. I can imagine them huddled in the corner together, hearing the screams of Sinners and hoping they aren’t next. Does Vox try to explain the Exterminations to them? How would Sarah & Thomas react to finding out Angels come down to murder everyone each year? Such a contrast to what they were taught Angels were like.
Definitely. It was so much worse back before Vox had the resources to build an Extermination bunker. Vox can go incorporeal, but the kids can't, so he had to find hiding places for the three of them that weren't already taken up by other sinners. Thomas and Sarah probably watched their dad get at least one person permakilled by hypnotizing them into giving up their spot and walking out into the onslaught. Once Vox becomes an overlord, it's less stressful, but it never stops being scary. Sarah especially struggled with the idea that angels can be cruel; the Oxrights were your typical church-going 1950s family, and Sarah used to draw a lot of comfort from religion, particularly after Vox died.
—
Now I need an in depth view on Sarah’s newly broken view on Angels. If she had a chance to talk to an Angel, what would she say to them? I want to see Sarah interact with all the Angels in the now (Sera, Emily, Lucifer, Vaggie, Lute, Adam, etc.). I need to lock Ondine & Sera in a room together so Ondine can ask Sera how she can slaughter thousands yearly? What would Sera’s reaction be? How would Sarah react to Adam, the first man, is the leader of the Exorcists and is all around a terrible piece of garbage? How would Sarah react to realizing Lucifer, The Devil, is actually kinda nice (or at least a more pleasant person to be around than Adam)?
By the time Ondine and Fineas would have an opportunity to meet most of those characters, they've been in Hell for 65 years, so the idea that demons can be kind and angels can be cruel has had plenty of time to settle. Sera probably wouldn't handle having a sinner child questioning her morals very well. She'd most likely react in a similar way as she did when Emily discovered the truth, insisting that she was only doing what she had to. The fact that Sera and Sarah have nearly the same name is making things even more uncomfortable.
For some reason child Sarah and Thomas meeting Lucifer sound hilarious, how do you think that would go down? Would they even believe he’s The Devil? It would be extra funny if Lucifer’s great with kids and they get along swimmingly. “He's pissed at God/Lucifer/whoever for letting this happen. What could children have possibly done to deserve Hell?” When Lucifer visits the Hotel would Vox scream at him why his 9 & 12 year old kids were sent to Hell? (If he recognizes him as Lucifer) How would Lucifer react? (Or would Vox do that to Charlie when he realizes she’s The Princess of Hell? Charlie would probably be in tears afterwards)
If Lucifer and Charlie were ever confronted with the "Why are children able to be sent to Hell?" question, they wouldn't take it well. Lucifer tries to defer responsibility, saying that it's not within his control: he doesn't decide who does and doesn't get into Hell... but it is still his kingdom, and he's chosen to stick his head in the sand instead of doing anything to help his most vulnerable "subjects." Charlie, yeah, she'd be devastated realizing kids can be sent to Hell for no clear reason and no one has tried to do anything about it.
–
Mental image that refuses to leave me: Vox walking in on Fineas about to shoot an apple off his terrified assistant’s head as Ondine watches apprehensively. He takes the bow and arrow from Fineas, scolding him… and then hands him a crossbow instead. Way more fun that way.
–
The kids are kind of afraid of Valentino, but they think Velvette is the coolest person in Hell. Ondine likes to follow her around like a shadow whenever she's working on her fashion lines, and Fineas maybe sorta kinda has a tiny little crush on her. Velvette hates children, but she can't tell them to fuck off unless she wants to get into an unnecessary fight with Vox, so she has to tolerate them when they try to interact with her.
–
How much has Sarah and Thomas' morals decayed? How much empathy can they show to a regular Sinner? Do they still see regular Sinners as people and not toys or pets?
It's weird. Vox has been encouraging them to dehumanize those under contract with him+the other Vees for decades; they signed up to work for them, so of course the kids should be allowed to do whatever they want to them. Since they died so young, Fineas and Ondine's morals are malleable, plus they both want their dad's approval, so they just... do as he says.
Ondine doesn't enjoy hurting people, but she can still be a bit of a handful in this verse. If she wants to play dress up with random tower employees that day, well, they have no choice but to drop everything and be her dolls until she moves onto something else. She'll also occasionally use her siren powers to make people do silly things (Vox loves it when she does this; he's been teaching her to hone her hypnotic abilities for years and is always so proud when she manages to successfully bend someone to her will). It comes from a place of genuine playfulness rather than malice, but that's cold comfort to the people she's messing with.
Fineas has much lower empathy than his sister and is far less squeamish. If he wants to play a game that could end in someone getting seriously injured, he does it; if he's in the room when one of the Vees is mauling an employee, it doesn't faze him. The fact that these are people, not toys, doesn't really register to him because, well, his dad said it was okay for him to do this, so what's the big deal?
If Charlie could get them away from Vox, she could probably teach them that just because you can treat people like rag dolls doesn't mean that you should, and that a person's feelings aren't automatically less important just because they sold their soul. They're not bad kids at heart; they're just children who've been taught to be careless with people because their dad gets a kick out of it.
"The kids are kind of afraid of Valentino, but they both think that Velvette is the coolest person in Hell." This is so cute!! Does Sarah get into fashion design?
As much as she can. She's only 8, so she doesn't really have the attention span/ability to fully commit to it, but she thinks it's fun. Velvette might actually end up spending some time with her because Ondine came up to her with a notebook full of drawings and Vel decides that picking apart this third grader's doodles was a good use of her time. She's not nice about it, but eventually it turns into more of a genuine critique than simple roasting since Ondine won't leave until she's looked at all of them.
–
When video games arrive in Hell, Fineas— as you would expect from an eleven-year-old boy— is enamored. If you play online games in Hell, there’s probably been at least one time when you’ve heard a pre-pubescent boy’s voice in VC, spouting the most obscene series of curse words you’ve ever heard in both English and Spanish. He has all the rarest gear in the game and will threaten to have his dad send snipers to your location if you grief him.
-
After a few decades, Vox starts lying to his kids that he somehow checked with Heaven and knows for a fact that's where their mother is. It's easier to let them think that than have them start asking about them finding her in Hell, and it gives him an easy cover story if he ever manages to find her and follow through on his plans to permakill her.
-
Vox uses his status as a “family man” to further bolster his public image. It’s a narrow tightrope to walk, trying to project humanity to the customer base and invulnerability to his colleagues/enemies, but if you ask him, he’d say he does it well. It helps that it’s not entirely a lie: Vox is a vicious, cutthroat overlord, but he also has two small children who he’s ironically much closer with in Hell than he was on Earth.
-
Imagining Vox teaching Ondine how to hypnotize people is just the cutest thing to me. He's trying to explain these abstract mental concepts to an eight-year-old. She doesn't fully understand that what they're doing is wrong; she just likes spending time with her dad. Vox is literally glowing with pride whenever she manages to do it right. They might sing together since that's how Ondine's powers work. Adorable evil daddy-daughter bonding is killing me.

Permaregressor vaggie, having a "bigger" accident, cause her to slip really little and start to cry loudly as carmilla runs to her room to make sure her little angle is okay?
Okay, so I wasn't really comfortable writing #2 accidents unless it's like, a scenario where its common (Food poisoning, menstruation, being sick, etc.). And permaregressed Vaggie would be too used wetting accidents to really care, so I did normal Au vaggie, on the verge of regressing, having an accident and cries loudly as carmilla runs to her room.
It had been a very stressful week for Vaggie. She would constantly be getting burnt out, she’d have panic attacks, and have trouble sleeping at night. Charlie had tried to get her to regress, but the girl had just been way too stubborn. So the princess of hell packed up a bunch of Vaggie’s stuff and sent her to go stay with her mentor/mami, Carmilla for a couple of days. Usually, Charlie hated being away from her girlfriend, but she knew if she was away from the hotel, things would be less stressful for her. Besides, Vaggie had regressed plenty of times with Carmilla (enough to get her own nursery), so she would barely get stressed around her.
However, Vaggie was still very stubborn with Carmilla too. She knew her Mami could be very strict with her and she was definitely pushing her, but she had so much stuff to work on at the hotel! She couldn’t take a break.
Carmilla had made her stay in the nursery instead of a guest bedroom in order to help her feel little and eventually give in. Even though Vaggie really wanted to regress while in her nursery, she refused to. Instead, she distracted herself with a book (That definitely didn’t have a piece of paper with hotel plans inside). She had been so engrossed in her book that she hadn’t even heard Carmilla calling for her.
“Mija,” Vaggie suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. She flinched and looked up harshly, but relaxed when she saw it was just Carmilla.
“I called you three times for lunch,” The overlord told her.
“Oh, I must’ve not heard you. I’ll be down in a little bit,” Vaggie assured her. Carmilla sighed.
“I’ll put it in the fridge and you can warm it up later,” She said, going to leave the room.
“Okay, thanks,” Vaggie said, going back to her work.
Carmilla was a little worried but she knew she couldn’t force anything onto her. So she left the room and went to put her food in the fridge.
A little while had passed and Vaggie was getting more frustrated by the second. Her baby brain really wanted to take over and rid her of all the stress but she refused. Unfortunately, if she refused for way too long, her body would try to get her to. Usually, when her body tried to regress, it would cause her to have accidents, her motor skills start to get weak, and she’d have trouble with walking. Most of the time, she wouldn’t even realize her body went into her regressed state before it was too late.
Vaggie was being so engrossed in her work that she wasn’t supposed to be doing, that she had started neglecting her bathroom needs. However, whenever her body would try to tell her to go to the bathroom, she’d just put it off and say she’d do it later when she was done.
Then, her motor skills started declining. She was having trouble holding the book and pen, causing her to get more frustrated. She needed to work harder and get things done. But her shaky and weak hands were making it so difficult.
Vaggie was way too focused on trying to use the pen and hold her book, that she forgot she needed to go until it was too late. She suddenly felt her spot start to grow wet and warm. This accident, plus all the stress and frustration she just was dealing with, made her go speeding into baby brain.
The 6 month old angel started wailing and sobbing loudly. She threw her book across the room. It was all too much and she hated how harshly she fell into babyspace. It was a horrible feeling and the only way to get her emotions out was to scream and cry.
Carmilla quickly rushed in, worried about her baby. She barged through the door and saw Vaggie crying with a big wet spot on her sweatpants. Her facial expression softened when she realized that she wasn’t in any real danger. Carmilla slowly moved towards her with her favorite Koala plushie.
“Shh, it’s okay, mija. Accidents happen,” She sat next to her and rubbed her back after handing her the stuffed animal. Vaggie hugged her stuffy tightly as she continued to sob. Carmilla knew that no matter how much comfort she provided, Vaggie would need to cry it out. It looked like she slipped harshly into her baby headspace and would likely have a hard time calming down.
After a couple minutes of Carmilla shushing and whispering sweet nothings into her ear, Vaggie managed to stop crying.
“Come on, someone needs a change,” The overlord lifted her up by the armpits, making Vaggie look like a cat. She carried her over to the changing table and set her down. However, the little one kept trying to fight it, squirming and wiggling around. Her big brain was probably telling her little side to refuse to regress.
“Little one, you can’t stay in those sodden pants all day. You’re gonna get a rash,” Carmilla told her, trying to undo the knot on her sweatpant strings. However, Vaggie was not having it. Right after she got the knot undone and went to pull off her pants and undies, she kicked her in the jaw.
“Hey! No kicking Mami, Cariño,” Carmilla scolded. Vaggie just stuck out her tongue with a grumpy face. So, the overlord put her paci in. Like intended, Vaggie immediately started sucking on it, her face and body relaxing. This made it a lot easier to get her soiled clothes off and get her cleaned up with baby wipes.
As she was trying to get the diaper taped up, Odette walked in.
“Mama? I heard crying, is something wrong with Vaggie?” She asked.
“No, nothings wrong. She just had an accident. If you could do me a favor, can you replace Vaggie’s sheets and blankets?” Carmilla asked.
“Yeah, sure,” Odette went and stripped the crib, glad they had a bedwetting protector underneath it. She put them to the side and put on some new bedsheets and blankets. These ones had little teddy bears on them.
When she was done, Carmilla placed Vaggie down on the bed and tucked her in as Odette brought the sheets down to the laundry room. Hopefully, after this incident, Vaggie will learn to let herself regress before it was too late (she probably won’t learn).

Kunoichi of Norrisville
As the title says, I have had an idea for a female ninja, a Kunoichi! I told this idea to my good friend @ikari-shinsei and we have had so much talking about the relationships between the Ninjas and their respective Kunoichi!
I know this has been done before, not exactly full on original but I love how much we have developed the idea so far. So, like in most stories, the Kunoichi is the Ninja’s partner, the ying to his yang, the water to his fire, the moon to his sun, you get the idea. The Kunoichi did not originate from Norrisville nor was it involved with the Norisu clan since the beginning. In fact, before the Kunoichi came to be, they were a trio of sisters who happened to be witches, all specializing in different magical aspects: the eldest, spirits and souls; the middle, magical artifacts and weapons; and the youngest, potions and spells. The eldest and the youngest ended up passing away after an attack just after creating the Kunoichi mask. Its purpose was to let the sisters use the other sisters’ specialized magic since they had a hard time doing so on their own. Now, the middle one, the First Kunoichi, was out and about traveling, taking out any monster that came her way. Next thing she knows, she has her knife to the throat of a man in black and red ninja attire.
The Kunoichi has powers similar to the Ninja, although they are usually more spiritually connected. They have a book similar to the Ninja Nomicon called the Kunoichi Codex (I did not come up with this, it was a writer in Quotev who I shall name later!) The Codex is a bit more direct to whoever has it, considering its writer was not as cryptic as the writer of the Nomicon. The Kunoichi uses war hand fans as a primary weapon and uses a sickle as a secondary one. She has knives hidden in most of her persona and the shoes she got? They are made of metal that can cut through almost anything. (Yes, I was inspired by Carmilla Carmine from Hazbin Hotel, is it obvious-?)
This is the current Kunoichi, whose name is Gin Rose (my persona). She is in the 9th grade and while she is smart academically, she is very dumb when socializing. There is a Yokai in the stone with the Tengu called a Bakeneko, a type of cat demon. Once it was sealed away, she gained a new ability called ‘Neko Moon Strike’. Her type of fighting style is one that resembles dancing, specifically ballet, which is a thing that comes with every Kunoichi, they always incorporate dancing in their fighting. It makes them look graceful and can be extremely useful. Their legs are their most lethal weapon.
First Kuno was a stubborn, anger issues yet quite emotional woman. She was untrusting of people for a long while up until meeting First Ninja. She was… very hostile when they first met, they did not like each other at all. But as time went on, they found themselves getting closer. Eventually, they became friends and soon enough, lovers. They became engaged and cared for each other dearly, First Ninja being the one showing the most affectionate which was usually just headpats or hand holding when they were not in their suits. First Kuno would always blush! F!Kuno used to call F!Ninja a ‘fool’, and now she calls him ‘my fool’. F!Ninja calls her ‘Moonflower’ due to it being a flower she really likes and the symbol she uses in her person when she in Kunoichi form. Sadly, not long after the fight with the Sorcerer and sealing him away, she fell ill and passed away in her beloved’s arms. A tragic end to the original Duo. But death is not the end, no, it’s merely the door to a new life.
I’ll let you figure that one out :)
Have a RC9GN ish art style First Kuno!
If anyone wishes to learn more about this AU or has any ideas or headcannons, I would love to hear them! Who knows, perhaps some of those ideas can help me develop the Kunoichi role even more!

(Sorry if there’s bad grammar lmao, I didn’t proofread this)
I just thought about this while watching disventure camp(fanmade series inspired by tdi)
Camp Hellanizer au(based on tdi and disventure camp but mainly disventure camp)
Camp Hellanizer is a Reality TV show that takes place in the Enferna Forest, hosted by co hosts Adam and Sera(with sera being the more logical and rational one(she rarely decides the challenges) and Adam being more chaotic and insane)
Although you might as well say Adam hosts it alone since sera rarely does anything(she often lets Adam do everything).
All the contestants are around 14-25(exception is nifty(8) and Suzan(35))and there are 16 characters:
Charlie, Vaggie, Angel dust, Husk, Alastor, Niffty, Vox, Velvette, Valentino, Rosie, Mimzy, Suzan, Sir Pentious, Cherry Bomb, Carmilla, Zestial.
Lute is the bus driver and the lunch lady(the meals she makes are somewhat disgusting on purpose) and Emily is one of the interns(but the safest one since Adam can’t risk killing Emily bc he would face sera’s wrath if he did)
There are 2 teams(they change later on):
Rehabilitating Roadkill(Red):
Charlie, Vaggie, Husk, Sir Pentious, Velvette, Cherry Bomb, Niffty, Rosie
Violent Voices(Violet):
Vox, Angel Dust, Valentino, Alastor, Mimzy, Suzan, Carmilla, Zestial
(All of them have never met each other)
Slight Spoilers for disventure camp season 1
Before any challenges started, they were given a day to socialize with each other, after that they were told to immediately vote someone out(Angel Dust and Velvette were “voted out”) and then plot twist(like in disventure camp), they actually infact swapped teams, so Angel dust went to the red and Velvette went to violet, and a few eps later, Alastor and Sir Pentious were voted out, and actually swapped teams like Angel dust and velvette did, and shortly before the merge, same thing happened with Carmilla and Cherry Bomb.
Before alastor swapped teams, Vox and Alastor were genuinely good Allies and had made an alliance to not vote each other out(which Vox later on ignored in favor of Val and velvette). And Valentino and Angel dust also made an alliance(a very toxic one) and even after Angel swapped, they kept the alliance going until angel had enough of Valentino later on in the series(which caused Valentino to be voted out lmao). Cherry bomb and sir pentious fell in love during the merge but Charlie and Vaggie did basically at the start, Vox and alastor were genuinely a healthy relationship before the game started to take a toll on Vox and the other vees(they made an alliance then betrayed alastor, made huskerdust break up(they got back together) poisoned Rosie so she would get voted out, abused angel dust and sir pentious, and so much more later on)(There was so much fucking drama it was insane)
The final 3 were Vox, Alastor and Charlie
Also don’t be disappointed that Suzan was there, she went home first :3 (after velvette and angel dust)
- Some random anon who’s never asked here before
This is very entertaining to read, I've never seen the fan series but I love TDI

Hazformers: Would You OTP Ship The Two Dangerous Yet Hottest Leaders Of Their Groups...?
first of all, this ship is NOT canon to the events that are happening in the Hazformers stories by Blitzy-Blitzwing.
I just fell in love with the idea of Megatron x Carmilla Carmine being ship together, and it might of been thanks to that song "Out For Love" that drove me to doing that ship drawing of those two that one time....
(also this poll is for Mature Audiences Only, like it shows in the tags...)
not everyone has to take this seriously, but I would love to know how many feel about the ship.
I might add Megatron x Carmilla into the story I'm working on that has Sari as the Main Character, but it is still on a bit of a Hiatus.
but I will try to work more on the story and update it in a few days.
Sari is in her 20s in the story, being I think if I remember right, 23 years old and could end up becoming 24 years old later on.
this poll's duration is 1 week, that gives many people a lot of time.
not sure if many will even see this poll, for all I know only a few will end up voting on it.
some of the options will be basically different versions of the "Yes" and "No" to the shipping of Megatron x Carmilla.
still, the ship isn't really canon to Blitzy-Blitzwing's Fan Fics that involve Hazformers.
but it be interesting what some might think about the ship about Megatron of TFA & Carmilla Carmine.
and yeah, besides the whole "Yes" and "No", there is the "Neutral" and "Confused" about the ship.
not everyone has to like the ship that has to do with Megamilla (Megatron x Carmilla Carmine), but I do like the idea of those two being ship together, even if the ship might only end up happening in the future in a story I'm writing where a Sari in her 20s is the Main Character.
like some fans of the Hazformers AU, haven't ship Mammon x Swindle...okay maybe they technically haven't yet...but it isn't like some weren't thinking it.
anyway not everyone has to take this seriously, but I'm still interested what others think about the whole Megamilla ship.
and for all I know, not everyone might be into the whole shipping Megatron x Carmilla together, and that's okay.
but I would like those who do see this, to be 100% truth on their choices on each option and we can see if Megatron x Carmilla is the perfect One True Pairing in a Crossover Timeline or they are just not as loved as some other crossover ships...it just depends on those who see this poll.
which once again, do be 100% truthful in the choices.
please give some thought first before picking one of the Yes, No, Neutral and Confused Choices that has to do with Megaton x Carmilla.
if you watched both Transformers Animated before and watched all the episodes of Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, think about the scenes that had both Megatron and Carmilla in them, and think over if you think they are perfect together or not at all.
so anyway hope some do like the idea of Megamilla, and if some don't like the ship of Megtron x Carmilla, that's okay too.
but once again, please do be 100% truthful in the poll and think over what choices you would pick that has to do with the few "Yes", "No" and "Neutrals" as well as the whole "Confused" ones about the ship.
and since I found out one can vote on their own poll as well, I know which choice I'm picking...but yeah, have fun with the choices but please make sure to think carefully with which ones you want to pick and please be 100% truthful with it.
make sure to read all of the options and think over the scenes with Megatron from Transformers Animated, and if you seen all the Season 1 of Hazbin Hotel, think about the scenes with Carmilla.
and think over if you think they go great together or not in a Crossover ship.
and in a week from now, we will see if their ship is loved by everyone or not by very many at all...but no matter the outcome, I hope some do enjoy this poll.
and yeah, no matter the outcome....I'm still gonna Crossover OTP ship Megatron x Carmilla and added them being together at some point in that one story where Sari is the Main Character. Sari's Soul & Spark might be a hybrid, so she might not really go to the Well of All Sparks when she dies, and might end up going to the Heaven that is in Earth's Sector of the Afterlife...
anyway once again, have fun but also think over about the different choices and please be 100% truthful in those choices.
and once again, the ship of Megatron x Carmilla are NOT canon to the events of the fan fic stories by Blitzy-Blitzwing.
so please do NOT misinterpret or misunderstand, and anyway thanks for understanding and good luck in the poll choices that has to do with Megatron x Carmilla Carmine.
just don't tell Shockwave & Lugnut about this poll, lol. XD

OC
I just want to post my OC's basic lore here. They're not going to be a muse (yet); I just think they're cool xD.
This is Akuma (aka Annie Brooks), my Hazbin Hotel/Hulleva Oc.
He/She/They
Art by @trissschmidt (Female form: Left. Male Form: Right)
They are an overlord who runs one of (if not the) most popular record companies in the Pride Ring. They write and perform their own music while writing music for other singers. They have collaborated with major performers from across the rings. They used to be a ring fighter for another overlord - never sold their soul but did have an agreement - and that overlord eventually became their best friend and encouraged them to become overlords themselves.
Below is a tier list to represent their relationship with different characters.
Partners
Alastor - Akuma's fiance from life. Got separated from him by their parents and reunited with him in Hell.
Charlie - Fell in love with her after reuniting with Alastor. The two invite her into their relationship.
Best Friends
My Best Friends Oc (not pictured/work in progress) - Vox's partner and the Ring Fight Overlord. Saved Akuma in Hell and taught them how to fight. Encourages them to become their own overlord.
Lucifer - Girlfriend's dad - is surprisingly chill with Akuma; he likes to climb up onto Akuma's shoulders in some type of animal form (Akuma is tall, and it pisses Alastor off).
Velvette - Akuma's BFF (my friend's OC), is often invited to the V tower, and Akuma tags along. Velvette was a fan of Akuma and befriended them. Their friendship is purely informal - neither one is associated with the other's brand.
Rosie - Introduced by Alastor and instantly hit it off. Gossip girls.
Carmilla - Friends from Akuma's ring fight days. Akuma often commissioned Carmilla for weapons, and one day Carmilla came to meet her most frequent buyer.
Fizzarolli - Has collaborated with him numerous times. Fizz will visit the Pride ring just to see Akuma. Another Gossip Partner.
Friends
Angel Dust - Feels bad for him/knows how shitty Val can be. Doesn't like how vulgar/inappropriate he can be. Flirted with Akuma one too many times.
Nifty and Husk - Alastor owns their souls, so they interact frequently. Akuma tries to take care of them and convince Alastor to not be as harsh to them as he is.
Pentious - Found him annoying at first, but warmed up to him. Wouldn't be Akuma's first choice to hang out with, but Akuma was upset and grieved his "death".
Emily (Au of the Au) - Meets the angel when she visits Charlie after the Exterminations are canceled. Appreciates her help.
KeeKee - Girlfriend's pet cat. Akuma loves cats.
Carmilla's Daughters - Akuma is the cool Aunt/Uncle figure to them. Loves them as one would their nieces.
Has Met Them Once
Stolas - In passing, he attended one of the concerts Akuma had with Fizz. Thinks he's nice but a bit airheaded.
Ozzie - One of Akuma's best friends, Fizz's partner. Ozzie is very busy, so he never has a lot of time to chat. Knew their secret for a while and kept it to themselves. Supportive of the two. Ozzie and Akuma would be closer if they had more time to talk to one another.
Zizi/Unnamed Overlord/Zestial - Fellow Overlords. Met them officially at their first Overlord meeting after stepping out of the shadows. They were polite to Akuma, so Akuma was polite to them.
Neutral/No Opinion
Vaggie - Vaggie doesn't trust/like Akuma due to Akuma being connected to Alastor and for "stealing/corrupting" Charlie. Akuma harbors no ill will toward Vaggie but has made no attempts to calm her hatred/anger.
Cherry Bomb - Didn't meet her until Extermination Day. Thought she fought well in the battle.
Tom - He's a news anchor. He is very polite with Akuma and doesn't insult them just because he can. (Unlike he co-host)
Razzel/Dazzel/Egg bois - They are other peoples' companions. That's it.
Dislikes Them
Lilith - Doesn't like that she just packed up her bags and left. Is mad on Charlie's behalf. (Depending on what happens in later seasons, this will change).
Katie Killjoy - Had an awful interview where Katie just insulted Akuma the entire time. Backed Katie into a corner verbally, and since then, Katie has taken any chance she could to insult Akuma. One-sided rivalry similar to Vox and Alastor. Katie hates Akuma, Akuma will get annoyed but overall doesn't really care.
Vox - Best friend's boyfriend. Finds him annoying and doesn't really like modern TV. Tolerates him because of their BFF. Due to being engaged to Alastor, Akuma is often dragged into Vox's "news broadcasts." However, they are never usually that damaging after Vox made that mistake the first time and had a not-so-friendly visit from an enraged Radio Demon and Princess of Hell. Akuma's BFF also didn't appreciate it and told Vox off for it. (Depending on what I see in later seasons, this might change).
Glitz and Glam - Competitors in the singing world. Akuma has tried to be polite/formal but is constantly insulted, gave up after a while.
Mimzy - My headcanon is that Mimzy has a crush on Alastor, so she is constantly throwing herself at him. Akuma doesn't like it, and Mimzy doesn't like that Akuma "stole" Alastor away.
Susan - It's fucking Susan!
Hates Them
Valentino - Hates how he treats people and finds him creepy. He once tried to seduce Akuma, but that got him a quick kick in the dick. Will be polite to him due to her friendship with Velvette. (Depending on the verse, is secretly trying to find a way to take over and/or free Angel Dust's contract).
Sera - Thinks she's a coward and hates how she runs/"helps" runs Heaven.
Adam - He nearly killed both of Akuma's partners, Alastor and Charlie. Was glad when he died. If Nifty hadn't stabbed him, Akuma was going to secretly kill him themself. (Depending on the verse this might happen).
Lute - fearful of what the angel would do. Akuma briefly fought hand-to-hand against Lute before Vaggie could get a swing at her. Got a few licks from the angel that haven't healed right.

Tumblr keeps hiding the reblogs I'm looking for today for some reason ..... think I finally got it. (Also you had better get better sleep soon! Hope you're doing alright.)
Agreed I refuse to think Carmilla would purposely name him Brian... at least in this timeline. I like how you put that she may have heard his name. Maybe even snooped around for it after he was stable to be certain? I think she certainly either heard the name and assumed/hoped it was his (and further discussed that later if he would want to be called that or to choose a new name, since I'm banking on Carmilla being open about but not very knowledgeable on what happened to Brian) or (the only other option I can think) that she didn't know his name and let Brian choose one himself. At the time, Brian found it to be a very unique and splendid name, maybe even the name of a musical artist he adored. Also idk where we're setting this specific AU but Beauty and The Beast was French right? I don't think Brian was a common first name in 1700's France, so maybe at the time and place of picking it, however Carmilla and Brian got the name, it was special! I still don't think Carmilla would purposely pick Brian without reason tho. I also thought maybe Brian is actually an acronym, but that kinda feels dehumanizing for the mother-son vibes here to me. Also I'm bad at acronyms.
OBSSESED WITH HOW YOU WROTE CARMILLA FINDING BRIAN BTW. EATING THAT. Carmilla could probably detect the heartbeat faster and easier than normal people bc of her powers too I'm sure.... this is fully were I think she mixes her mechanics and magic btw!!! Using magic to ensure the beats don't tapper off as she runs homes, hooking what's left of him to things in her workshop to keep the heart functional and not die or dry out, casting spells to ensure its safety and all... already falling in love with this new life she's taking under her wing. Going full mama bear yes!!!! Exactly!!! So the village wanted a witch to prosecute? Let her shown them real magic then. And oh after Brian being tied to a tree again... uagh!!!! Brian rides off on horseback and reaches the castle quicker, but Carmillla is close behind and fully tears the mob a new one after they're tossed from the castle. (<- she only isn't immediately following Brian to ensure his and Jonny's well being because she trust Brian to do it right on his own, and following behind protectively, no matter how badly she wants too, could screw the whole thing up for Jonny and everyone else, and she's aware of that as the actual enchantress.)
To be honest the name change was a half asleep joke I made lmao... whoops :). Though I might keep that name for something else entirely unrelated bc it sounds neat. Marius will always be von Ram in my heart (and Lyf has to say von Raum like that. Whether or not it's written in a fic you just know it's said that way). Maybe when someone first points out the meaning of Marius's last name they're like"???? that doesn't make sense???" and suggests the other name to make more sense (idk why. Maybe since Gaston is a hunter so, so is Marius? Or he at least wanders in the woods a lot acting like he's hunting and completely knows what he's doing. totally). Marius is like "no it makes perfect sense" with zero elaboration and ends up on the towns' witch watchlist or something. "We're not certain he's a witch or anything, he's just very odd. Suspcious. Maybe an accomplice to one?" He isn't one yet but he probably will be soon lmao.
GOD everything you wrote about Tim and Lyf and Bertie!!! Sobs........ wails even........... I will also say that I was picturing dialogue between them as I fell asleep last night (brainrot lmao). (Also dialogue is not my strong suit so I'm mostly paraphrasing my thoughts.) Lyf crying, almost completely yelling if they had had the voice to do so, about the pair taking everything. Their home, their loved ones, their culture, everything they knew rubble and waste. (Of course, Tim and Bertie caused the same of their own home, but that was their choice.) They might even have a small, dulled knife brandished in front of where they're curled in on themself as they yell. "You're right," Tim would probably say. "We, well- we didn't choose to fight this war, we never wanted war, we just wanted it to end, but-" "-but it doesn't excuse our actions." Bertie might finish. "We know that. What's done is done though, and right now you're sick and hurt. We only want to help you. We can't bring anything back, but you don't have die here." That's basically what was in my brain last night. (You literally made me scream with "we just wanted it over." btw.)
Also extra tidbit I feel like after they finally convinced Lyf to join them and they make their way out of the ruins of what may have been Lyf's home, they have to lay low and hid out as they travel. So there's DND style quest camping nights. (My brain runs fully on creating images I am cursed to only bring to life through word so bear with me anytime I say I pictured something lmao.) I pictured them, on the first night together, huddled in a cave near the edge of a mountain range in the woods, not far from the ruins but far enough to feel safe enough to crash for the night. They get Lyf settled down first, and one prepares a small fire while the other digs around their bags for anything useful. Water, food, medicine/first aid, clothes, etc. The pair treat what they can, give Lyf medicine or bandage their wounds, whatever they have that Lyf needs. They find rations and water if they're lucky, and settled close to the fire. From the mouth of the cave, they can only see the forest extending before them. Above though, despite everything, it's a clear night. Clear enough to spot constellations or the moon phase, whatever one make be knowledgeable of. An end of year breeze still fills the cave, the lack of day chilling their bones of cold. They keep close to their fire, and close to each other. Who knows what tomorrows brings? Hardships, but hopefully something new, something kind. Even if mistrust and hurt lies between them, they sleep close to each other that night.
(Yes exactly!! Big dumb brothers!! I'm so soft for the protective older brother(s) character trope...... there's something special about the older siblings bullying and beating up their younger siblings but going above and beyond to take care of them in the real world. "The only person/people that can mess with my younger sibling is me/us!" trope!!!!!)
And exactly! I was about to bring up Carmilla being the royal enchantress too! You are actually fully in my head.............. Carmilla being everyone's mom as always. Also putting the taking in servants that way..... I love that so much. I've been watching Dimension 20's Fantasy High a lot recently and this makes me think of Jawbone!!!! (A werewolf NPC who lived a crazy life and got offered the school counselor job by the student PCs, so he fully turned his life around! I adore him.) I felt like Jawbone having an insane and traumatic past makes him far more empathetic and understanding to kids when he becomes the school counselor! Easier for unwilling kids to open up to him when they need to too I feel like. I think sure maybe he shouldn't be as open about certain things with actual 15 years old, but that brutal honesty is refreshing to some kids. Or at least it was for me at that age, considering the random lore drops from my mom lmao.... My point is! Not only are these parents empathetic to the strays they're taking in and giving good work and housing too, but having a "colorful" staff to take care of their kids while they're gone is just really cool! Their past experiences might make it easier to connect to their kids verses people who were trained to be constantly formal. These kids don't really need all these servants, they need genuine people to be there with them when their parents are gone. I went on a bit too long about that but I hope that made sense? ("Jonny! How could you call your own mom a kooky old cunt?! Apologize!!!!")
Also Nastya being close and learning certain charms and stuff, but not being fully an Enchantress, same as Brian. After their parents are gone and Jonny gets worse and worse, Carmilla and Nastya prepare to leave and already has everything planned out with her. Carmilla saying Nastya doesn't have to take the fall, but Nastya insisting. Between the two, Jonny might still listen to Carmilla before Nastya, so she needs him to have less of a grudge against Carmilla when they both leave. Carmilla leaves a few months in advance, returning in secret only the cast the spell with Nastya. Carmilla again asking if she's fully prepared for that, or is she would at least want to stay with Carmilla after all is said and done. Nastya sticks her to plan, though. She pretends to cast the spells, Carmilla does it, and they go their separate ways, but hoping to be reunited again one day under good circumstance.
Jonny loving the little casual braids!! Brian curled into Jonny as he does it gods........Jonny acts aloof and neutral about them but he refuses to have them taken out ever. (Bonus points: final fight scene and Toy's blade nicks a braid clean off, and Jonny is pissed)
Nastya totally has things for everyone! She carried them as a comfort at first, that eventually she'll be able to gift them these. God how ecstatic she would be for that to actually happen in the end!!!! Also when she finally returns and has a chance to pass around her gifts, Marius totally pouts about not getting anything (mostly joking), and she's just like, "Um, I didn't know you??? Do you want this cookie?" and he almost cries.
EVERYTHING YOU WROTE ABOUT HER RETURN!!!!!!! (Also in response to Nastya asking about Marius, Lyf (now finally taller than him) grabs him by the ear, "He's my problem, unfortunately," with a small smile as Marius mumbles "Ouch!! Rude!!!!") Just! Her being so overjoyed to see everyone again!!! So proud and happy Jonny learned how to love!!! Gods!!!!!!! ("So you preferred the beast form then? Even though the curse is lifted? I figured you might..." "It grew on me, okay?" "You were always a weird little creature," "Little!?")
Also about him staying a beast- imagine if after the curse broke, it was similar to Sophie's ageing curse where in the end that part of it became less of a curse and more of his character. But the amount of beast he looks can now shift based on his emotions and stuff after the curse broke, like how Sophie's age fluxuates based on her feelings. Jonny usually remains normal beast sized, because that's how he feels genuine and true, so it takes a while to figure it out. But eventually something happen to make him shift. A nightmare or bad storm throws him into a bad panic, and he becomes smaller and less furry and as he shrinks in on himself. Someone or something endangers Brian and sends him into enough of a fury to almost double in size and become genuinely horrifying to look at. It usually has to be something intense to shift, though. After that they work on him controlling and understanding it better! This is also an aftermath effect Nastya and Carmilla had no idea would happen.
With Marius- Yes exactly!! He felt so embarrassed about his fear of them until he found out they're the Tim and Bertie who demolished two kingdoms..... validation!
Oh yes Raph backstory!!! I love it!!!!! I feel like her getting hired was like "No, we don't really trust you as the doctor, but you're good with knives like that, want to be a chief for now?" which she takes. She does always suggest letting her vivisect people like prisoners who did some seriously bad stuff. It's usually still a no, except for when someone tried to assassinate their kids. They let her have the assassin for whatever she wanted. (Or, if the assassin was hired, let her carve the information out of them to find the person who paid them, so she could have them to study too.) For the most part she might channel that energy into messing with butchered farm animals as she preps for dinner! I can't think of anyone who enjoys processing animals like that, so anyone else in charge of food or livestock probably always lets her have that. Also she has a little sharp knife like glint in her eyes (dangerous curiosity) that terrify people who aren't used to it. Also she might love science stuff in general, but anything like that, namely from a woman, could also be considered witchcraft anyway. So there were many limitations until the castle (she's shocked she even got the doctor role, but that town was pleasantly desperate).
And oh!! I hadn't seen that title idea yet- I like that one more!! The one I tossed in was just a couple stand in relevant words to help me find this post later. The Consequences of Creation and Love. Neat!
Beauty and the Beast, but it's the Mechanisms.
Jonny must be the beast because feral Jonny and the whole heart thing... prove me wrong.
Tim or Brian is Belle.
Rest of the Mechs are the servants in the Beast's house. With an exception for Marius as Gaston cause I can totally fucking see it. He would suck at it though because it's Marius. And also, short Marius HC.
This is probably not new. But it's been brewing in my head for a good few months, ever since I put my Mechs OC in the iconic Belle dress.

Hmmm after Emily learns the truth about WHO her mothers are, wouldn’t she also want to know how and why they got together? Wouldn’t she want to know the REAL reason behind Carmilla’s fall? And wouldn’t Sera feel obligated to tell her everything (within reason Emily doesn’t have to hear about their love life) because she’s kept Emily in the dark for so long now Sera must face these bright and unbearable realities. Like how she had to hide her pregnancy from the elders. How different Carmilla is from the slander spread by the elders. And Emily notices an unsettling trend with each answer she receives. The elders keep coming back as a point of conflict.
This is slowly turning into a merger with the Homophobic Heaven/Carmilla Fell Later AU, because I am really enthralled with the idea of how Carmilla fell in that timeline, not as a follower of Lucifer, but because she loved Sera so much. These two may eventually be one and the same AU, so just a heads-up if you're noticing a lot of similarities between the two. My brain was already rolling with angsty thoughts of how to describe Carmilla's falling to Emily, and it just came out that way. I may end up making a fic out of this somehow, if I can wrangle the two timelines together and make it make sense. There's just something about Carmilla and/or Sera having a secret daughter, combined with religious guilt and convoluted, angsty confessions of love for their children that gets me in a WAY. Tell me I'm not the only one!
"How did you and Carmilla meet, Mom?"
Emily's been asking a lot of questions lately. That's to be expected -- the very nature of Emily's relationship with Sera has been turned on its head. The younger Seraphim is making up for a lifetime of not knowing how she really fits into Sera's life, and it's the least Sera can do to fill in the blanks for her.
This particular question makes Sera smile a little. She hasn't thought about how she met Carmilla in so long. She has so many fond memories of those times...probably the only truly wonderful, carefree days she's had since Carmilla fell.
"I had just been appointed High Seraphim," Sera says. "It was only me back then. Carmilla was in charge of Heaven's holy arms. They weren't called Exorcists yet...this was before Adam took over, before Lucifer fell...even before the Garden was a place humans could dwell. Carmilla and I were both so young, and I was what you might call...a workaholic. I was stubborn in my ways, and only cared about making Heaven perfect. That's what I was created for. It was a lonely existence."
Emily is listening to Sera with rapt attention. The younger Seraphim has never known Heaven to be without its strict enforcers, without Winners, without all the pomp and circumstance of the nobles and elders who would bring down the proverbial hammer on anyone caught getting out of line.
Sera thinks, things had so much simpler back then. Right had been right, wrong had been wrong, and nuance did not yet exist.
Until Carmilla had taught her differently.
"Carmilla was always a dreamer, like Lucifer. She was also much too smart for her own good. Always inventing things, imagining things...wonderful things, but also things that could kill an angel, if she wasn't careful. That's how we were introduced. She was experimenting with some new contraption she'd built...something she probably shouldn't have been testing so close to a noble's house, if I'm being honest. Some Dominion angel or another who would throw a fit if even one of the flowers in his garden got trampled."
Emily giggles. She knows exactly the types of angels Sera is talking about. The uppercrust of angelic society. The Lord's favorites.
"There was a complaint filed by this particular...individual, and when I arrived to investigate, Carmilla and this gentleman were...having a bit of a spat out in an empty field. It looked like a few punches had been thrown, because they were both covered in scrapes and bruises. The moment I laid eyes on her...I knew she was going to be trouble."
Emiliy gasps. "They did not! Did he hit her?!"
"Oh, I'm sure he did, but you should have seen the other fellow...he was in much worse shape than Carmilla was."
This particular memory sends warm, mushy pangs of fondness directly to Sera's heart. Even though she hadn't thought it at the time...she'd always admired Carmilla's ability to defend herself. To not take any bullshit from anyone for any reason.
"I asked what was going on, and the Dominion complained that this 'ruffian soldier' was experimenting with deadly weapons on his property. When I asked if this was true, Carmilla didn't even attempt to deny it. She made me aware that it wasn't his property, though, and come to find out, she was right. He had tried to remove her by force, and she had retaliated. In the end, both were charged with misdemeanor crimes. Carmilla spent a few days in a jail cell...her sentence would have been longer, but I pulled some strings to get her out early. Heaven's army couldn't be without its commander, after all."
Emily shoots Sera a particular look. Like she knows Sera probably had ulterior motives, that had absolutely nothing to do with Heaven's army, and everything to do with the fact that Sera was fond of Carmilla.
"Uh huh. Suuuuure, I totally buy that excuse. There was no other reason for you to get her out?" Emily quips.
"Well...yes, but I didn't know it at the time! We had just met, and I...I felt sorry for her! It didn't have anything to do with love yet."
"Yet," Emily repeats, grinning like a maniac. "You are so transparent, Se--Mom! It's not even funny!"
Sera rolls her eyes in defeat. "Fine! Yes, something about her was...intriguing, even back then. And as soon as they let her out, she came directly back to me...to thank me, so she said. But...she started coming back every day! And I let her! It was all downhill from there..."
"OoOooOooh! You liiiiiked her!" Emily starts poking into Sera's sides, jibing at her mother to just admit what she's slowly building up to saying anyway. Sera turns toward her and starts jabbing at Emily with her fingers instead. Emily giggles, shouting, "I give! I give!" when Sera won't let up.
Sera smirks. "Now are you going to let me finish?"
"Yes! Just get to it, already!"
"As I was saying..." Sera starts, looking over at Emily to make sure she won't interrupt again. Emily swipes over her lips like she's locking something up tight, and pretends to throw away the key over her shoulder.
"Thank you. As I was saying...Carmilla started coming to visit me every day. At first, it was to thank me with words...then gifts...then invitations to go out on the town. To treat me, she said. I had never once been on a...date, before, even though we never called it that. We would never use those words within earshot of anyone. And before too long...she admitted she had feelings for me, and I didn't know how to respond. I shut her out, denied it, for so long. But she was stubborn. She never gave up on me. And eventually...Heaven, it was probably years, or decades later, after we'd fought and made up about it several times. Eventually, she convinced me that she really loved me...and I had to admit to myself that I loved her back."
Sera pauses for just a moment, reliving the memory in all of its warm, fuzzy details, and then looks over at Emily, who is staring back at her, eyes huge and glossed over, like she's about to cry. She's holding her hand over her mouth, to keep from interrupting again. Sera smiles at her.
But then Sera looks down, at her lap, and braces herself. She knows the tone of her story is about to take a dark, desolate turn...she's readying herself for it, so she can get past these painful memories for her daughter...so her girl will finally know the truth.
"Carmilla and I loved each other very much. I felt guilty about it, at first. Heaven had always taught me that same-sex relationships were dirty, and wrong, and sinful...but over time, she taught me there was nothing remotely wrong with what we had. And I believed her. How could there be anything dirty about us loving each other with everything we had, heart, body, and soul?"
Sera pauses again. Things are about to go south pretty quickly, and she's readying herself, and Emily for it -- for real, this time.
"We had...well, we did things that people in love do. It went on like that for years. Maybe we got cocky, or weren't careful enough, thinking we would never get caught. But someone must have seen us, at some point...or put two and two together. They never implicated me in the act...but someone told the elders Carmilla had a female lover. They took her into custody immediately. They did...so many horrible things to her. Tortured her. I begged with her to come clean, and just tell them it was me, and maybe I could get us both a lesser sentence for cooperation or good behavior. But she wouldn't have any of it."
Sera is the one crying now. Toward the end of that last statement, her voice wavers, and tears start falling down her face in rivers. The old wounds in her heart are slowly being ripped open again at the telling of this story, bleeding anew. She does her best to keep it together, for Emily. But reliving these memories is not easy for her, no matter how much she wants Emily to know.
"They gave her a sham trial. Everyone knew the result before it ended. Lucifer had fallen not long before this, so I knew what was coming before it happened. I watched them...I watched them push her. She fell, right over the edge, like she was nothing. She was my everything. They made an example of her...a spectacle of her. Just like they did with Lucifer and his followers. And right before she went down, she told me she loved me one last time. And then she was gone. And somehow, that made it so much worse."
Sera is actually sobbing now. Crying ugly, wet tears into her hands, trying to keep Emily from seeing, so she doesn't have to watch her mother break down in front of her. Emily rushes toward her, hugging Sera tightly around her shoulders. Sera leans into the smaller angel, letting Emily carry some of her weight...along with the weight of her sorrow and pain, that she's been keeping to herself for all these years.
When she's managed to calm down a bit, Sera continues her story. The next part is much happier...as happy as it could be possibly be, at least, after having just watched her partner receive a fate worse than death.
"What made it so much worse was that the same day that she fell, I found out I was pregnant with you. I had just lost my love, my light, my reason for being...and suddenly I had to find new purpose again, in order to keep you safe, and hidden. I hid away for a while, as best I could, and kept you a secret from the elders until you were born. I claimed that I'd commissioned you, from the same place that I was forged, because with all the new Winners entering Heaven, I needed an assistant. They were so gullible, never imagining I would double-cross them like that. So I raised you as my sister...as my heir. And that's how we wound up here."
Emily has been sitting in silence for a long while by this point, and she continues to be silent, in heavy contemplation, for several moments after Sera concludes her story. Sera reaches over, and rubs her hand against Emily's face. Emily looks up at her, and then holds Sera's hand against her cheek to ground herself.
"Thank you for telling me all this," Emily says, voice a mournful and somber timbre, like she's been reliving all these moments right along with Sera. "I'm sorry for making you...have to recount all those painful moments. But I understand now, why you did what you did. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Mom. I can't even begin to imagine how awful that was. I love you so much."
Emily starts to cry then, too, and Sera pulls her into her arms, and they just sit and hold each other for a while, and cry together, mother and daughter.
"I care about you so much, my love," Sera says. "You were the reason I held on for so long. You are my everything now, Emily, in her absence. You saved me. I could never imagine my life without you in it."

For the requests!!! Maybe Belaliech but like a coffee shop au (because I’m basic-)
Pitch black coffee, dark as the shadows in which the creatures of the night thrive: such is Natalya’s chosen drink, a shot of caffeine like a stake to the heart, perfect to inspire her to write of all things macabre and otherworldly.
However, today she just cannot focus on writing her novel. Right at the crucial scene, when Carmilla finally descends on her prey, a giggle coming from the next table makes it impossible for her to visualise the sharp terror of the protagonist.
Annoyed, she looks up from her laptop screen to see a young woman— probably a freshman— smiling at something on her phone while sipping on a strawberry milkshake.
Her perfect manicure immediately catches Natalya’s attention; so does the little braid that falls on her cheek is tied with a satin ribbon. Who uses a satin ribbon to tie her own hair, in the twenty-first century? It’s such a sweet touch, so delightfully romantic.
The girl suddenly looks up from her phone and her blue eyes meet Natalya’s; they both blush, and look away immediately.
Shit, Natalya thinks, I didn’t realise I was staring.
Looking at her laptop and trying to write again, the scene she was trying to write starts to play into her mind.
Carmilla, so perfectly composed in spite of her hunger, opened the heavy brocade curtain that surrounded the bed. There, Lily slept sensually, the deep-red bed sheets framing her white and tender chest. The girl’s beautiful blond hair fell on her face; Carmilla noticed a little braid behind her ear, tied with a ribbon as pink as the girl’s cheeks. The queen of the undead gasped. Her mouth started to water in anticipation for the feast that awaited; her teeth grazed Lily’s collarbones…
The more she describes the scene in her head, the more it becomes vivid; and it doesn’t really matter that Lily, the protagonist of her book, supposedly has long, curly red hair.
I will go back and change it later, she thinks.
Instinctively, Natalya glances up again. The girl is still drinking her milkshake, wistfully looking out of the window. The sun shines on her face, on her hair. She’s breathtakingly beautiful.
God. Natalya adjusts her glasses, unable to look away. I’m so gay.
With the last sip of her coffee, she finally decides to close her laptop and call it a day. As she walks towards the door, though, someone taps her shoulder.
“Excuse me,” the voice she hears is almost a whisper, “I know this is strange, but can I talk to you.”
Natalya’s heart skips a beat. Standing behind her, the girl she’s been staring at for at least half an hour.
This... is embarrassing.
“I couldn’t help but notice the sticker on your laptop. Do you play Animal Crossing?”
“Uh. Yes.”
The girl’s eyes light up. “Me too! Do you want to swap codes and visit my island sometime?”
Natalya can feel the anxiety clawing at her neck. Say something, she orders to herself, say something, but her persuasion is unsuccessful.
“Oh, I’m sorry” the girl starts stuttering, “I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Erika. I’m sorry for startling you, ah, you see, I’m new and I don’t really know anyone here and so I thought—“
“Yes.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Yes. Here’s my phone number,” Natalya scribbles it on the girl’s wrist, and she looks at her, flustered. “My name is Natalya.”

oh why hello haley quinn i was wondering if you could talk about your WIPs for BECHLOE, CALZONA AND HOLLSTEIN!!!!!!! ~boom BUH-BYE
i……. but…. this is… you are asking me for so much?! fine. fine! fine.
bechloe - sing me a song/i’ll sing it back to you
set somewhat during the first movie, but a twist in that it’s a soulmate au, where you can hear the song your soulmate has stuck in their head.
excerpt:
The first time Beca had the whole soulmate thing explainedto her, she was four years old.
It all started because she fell asleep one night with thetune of a song she’d never heard before in her head when her mom tucked her in.And when she hummed the melody the next day, it was easily overlooked. But aweek later, when the song only came in louder, it started to become annoying.Because all she wanted to do was play with her stuffed animals, but the stupid thing wouldn’t leave her head.
And when she complained to her mom and dad about it, becausenear, far, wherever you are, I believethat the heart does go on wouldn’t go away even when she sang along to her ownfavorite song – the theme to Animaniacs – they had exchanged a loaded lookbefore sitting her down, to tell her the basics that every parent had toexplain to their child at some point:
About how everyone in the world had a soulmate, and thatwhen your soulmate had a song stuck in their head, you could hear it in yours, too.
About how it didn’t happen with every song they heard, only the ones they really couldn’t stoplistening to, ones that they were focused on.
About how people usually didn’t start connecting on thatlevel with their soulmate until they were decently older than four, but itseemed like Beca’s connection was pretty strong.
About how the stronger a connection you shared, the clearerand louder you heard the songs.
And about how – no,Beca, you can’t turn it off, and stop calling everything stupid.
calzona - once upon a time
fairytale au, in which Callie’s dad and Arizona’s dad are kings of neighboring countries, that had been regularly at war with one another, until there was a prophecy that brought them together. Predicting the union of the countries that would bring prosperity to both nations, which results in Callie becoming betrothed to Tim.
Growing up, Arizona and Callie meet a handful of times and never really get along, and tensions come to a head when Callie and Tim are supposed to get married very soon and Tim disappears. While he’s presumed dead, Arizona doesn’t believe it, and she sets out on a mission to find him… and Callie is just so infuriating (and might just have more to her than Arizona gave her credit for) when she refuses to stay behind.
excerpt:
Callie hated that her mother had given her the pointed look, an order in and of itself, to walk Arizona around the grounds while her belongings were settled in her room after her travels. As if the other princess didn’t know her own way around the grounds by this point after her visits over the years.
Still, she bit back a sigh as they walked by the ponds, always just a bit off-kilter with the blonde, and determined to remain cordial.
“How are your… exploits?”she asked, and regretted it as soon as she saw the slow smile spread overArizona’s face. Realizing her error, she backtracked quickly, “I – no, how wasyour travel here? I imagine it was uncomfortable, being in the back of thecarriage for so long with no one for company.”
All right, she would belying slightly if she said that the image didn’t amuse her.
“Oh, I wouldn’t say I hadno one for company. And I’m not exactly sore from sitting in the back of thecarriage,” she added, mischief growing in those bright blue eyes.
Her cheeks burned in embarrassment as she huffed out a breath and ignored the flip-flopping of her stomach, “You can never just give the expected answer.”
“That’s funny, becauseyou are exactly what I expect of you,” Arizona shot back, and it was just so easy for her to rile her up.
“What is that supposed tomean?”
“It means… you’reenamored with my brother when you’ve never even met him. The idea of a prince. The idea of some special prophecy. The first time we ever met, you wereinterested in exactly what a polite little princess was taught to be interestedin –”
“Despite what you thinkyou know of me, which is apparently a lot, you know nothing!” She knew nothingof the dreams Callie had for herself. Regardless of whether or not they mattered.
“Of course not. You won’t grow up to be the queen of akingdom. Married to a king, who holds all of the real power, and reducing youto spending your time with the children and hostess duties,” Arizona scoffed, rolling her eyes at Callie.
Who crossed her arms, jawin the air, “And you will be alone. Not betrothed to anyone.”
“At least I can think formyself, and have a future that isn’t in place just because some stupid prophecysaid it would be so before I was even born.”
“You know what I think? Ithink you’re jealous of your brother.”
“For getting to marryyou?”
“For being the prophecy! For being the warrior child, the courageous leader, and the crown who bringsabout harmony.”
(… leading to a rather undignified scuffle that lands them both in the lake)
hollstein – my godthey were roommates
in which Laura, a journalist caught up in investigating an alarmingly shady senator, posts a desperately in need roommate want ad. and Carmilla answers (unbeknownst to Laura, under extreme pressure from her foster mother to spy on that annoying journalist before she digs too deep)
excerpt:
She didn’t return fromthe newspaper office until nearly midnight, and when she did, she hesitatedoutside of the door for a few seconds. God, pleaselet this Carmilla girl not be a thief - just because she was desperate at the moment didn’t mean she was not having doubts about living with a woman who didn’t even want a tour of the apartment she was going to rent before moving in on a day’s notice.
Please let her belongings still be here – alongwith a magical rent check.
With a deep breath, shetried to hope for the best, and pushed open the door.
Honey brown eyes dartedaround the darkened living room, managing to adjust enough that she saw thather tv and blu-ray player were still there. So, that was a good sign. With asigh of relief, she stepped in and closed the door, turning the lock behind heras she walked in, toward the kitchen.
The light had been lefton, and her package of cookies was left on the counter. As she entered thekitchen, she looked around for the woman in question who must have taken outthe cookies, before she cleared her throat, “Carmilla?”
“Does anyone else have akey?” came the husky voice from behind her, and she jumped, trying to calm herracing heart as she turned to face her.
The leather jacket from this morning wasgone now and her jeans were unbuttoned. And unzipped, revealing rather sheerblack lace underwear and Laura’s face burned as her stomach twisted and she ranher eyes back up. Up, over a button-up flannel shirt was completely unbuttonedand open, revealing a black bra underneath.
Not that Laurapurposefully looked for very long.
Averting her eyes, shelooked up at the ceiling, flustered, “Uh, what?”
Carmilla lifted aneyebrow as a sly smirk slid onto her face, but she made no attempt to coverherself up, “You called out for me like someone else could be in here; doesanyone else have a key?”
Right. She’d forgottenthat in the face of the half-dressed admittedly ridiculously attractive womanwalking around, “Oh. No. Well, yes. LaFontaine and Perry – my friends fromearlier? They have one, but they won’t, uh, come over without warning oranything. It’s for emergencies,” she could feel herself blushing, because who walked around barely covered wherethey lived with someone they just met?
Carmilla nodded beforeshe slinked closer, walking so close to Laura that she could practically feelher body heat, and she shivered in response. Then took a step back as Carmillareached around her for a cookie, “You seem surprised to see me; I told you Iwas moving in today.”
“You’re totally welcomehere! I mean, obviously, I gave you the key. I just… um…” I just expected you to be a thief and to come back to see you having stolenfrom me rather than see you walking around nearly naked. She licked herlips, also reaching over to the cookies on the counter and taking a few – shemissed dinner. Shaking her head, she finished with, “Anyway, how was yourmove?”
Carmilla quirked aneyebrow at her, “It was fine and dandy, cupcake.”
“Um, good. That’s good. I– Oh my god!” she cut herself off with a choked scream, eyes widening, becausesomething lithe and dark definitely just moved in the darkness behind Carmilla. In a move that was all instinct, she reached for the closest solid thing shecould find – the lid to a pan for the stove – and held it in front of her,“There’s something over there! Did you leave the door open when you were movingin – there it is again!”
The thing moved so fastit was practically a blur, and it darted right toward them, making Laura jump. Her roommate chuckled, a sound that was low and husky, but Laura’s attentionwas focused on the animal that came to a stop at Carmilla’s feet.
It – it was a cat?
Forehead crinkled inconfusion, Laura lowered the pan lid slightly. It was definitely not one of themost attractive cats she’d ever seen. Really, maybe the opposite. The animalhad a few blotches on its body where fur was sparse or clunky. And while itdidn’t look… dirty, it was somehowstill unkempt. The cat’s tail was just a nub, and if Laura didn’t know anybetter, she would think that this cat was glaringat her. Maybe that was just how it looked at people?
And, she was no expert oncats – her dad wasn’t big on any animals being in his pristinely cleaned home –but it just seemed bigger than mostcats she’d seen.
By the way it started towind in and out of Carmilla’s feet, it dawned on her, “Is this your cat?”
Her new roommate gave herthe tiniest smirk, before she dipped to run her hand over the cat’s head, “Youcatch on quick, cutie. You didn’t say pets weren’t welcome.”
Laura was still stuck onthe fact that this girl didn’t see it fit to inform her that she had a freakingcat before moving in with her! “What if I was allergic?”
“Are you?” Carmillaasked, but didn’t seem to care too much about the answer.
Which made her frown asshe admitted, “Well, no.”
“Great.”
Could she really do this? The question hit her like a ton of bricks – could she really, really deal withthis strange, apparently inconsiderate woman, as her roommate for the next six months?
“She doesn’t claw atfurniture, she’s trained to use her litter box, and she hardly sheds. We stillon?” Carmilla asked in a low drawl, almost sounding bored.
And Laura managed to takeher gaze away from the cat in question – still winding in between Carmilla’slegs like rubbing her cheeks on those unbuttoned jeans was all she wanted to doin life – only to see the check Carmilla slid out of her back pocket.
The check was nearlyglowing, beckoning at her. With a deep breath, Laura closed her eyes for amoment and took the jump, “Yeah. We’re still on.”
She reached out for thecheck, feeling like she was the one who just signed an agreement withoutreading the fine print as she took the paper between her fingers and tugged.
Carmilla let the checkslide from her fingertips easily, as she murmured, “Pleasure doing business withyou.”
The word pleasure rolled off of her tongue in away that made Laura imagine dark, whispered promises in silken sheets. Shegulped.
“Right,” the word cameout on a hoarse breath, as she clutched at the check in her hand – itsimultaneously felt like her salvation and like it was the beginning of a long, uncertain path.
Carmilla shot her a wink, before reaching out for a handful of Laura’s cookies and turning with a flourishto head back to her room, and she was followed by that… cat. She stared afterher, still trying to register… What did thatmean? That wink?
Shaking her head, shelooked properly at the check, and sighed. Well, maybe Carmilla’s firstimpression seemed to be discourteous, immodest, and perhaps inappropriatelyflirty, but she paid in an accurate and timely manner.
She reached down for somemore cookies with a sigh, only to come into contact with an empty package. What?!She spun around to double check, and sure enough – empty. And she just boughtthese yesterday!
And – wait a second… wasthat her shirt Carmilla had been wearing? Er, kind of wearing?

This is a thing that may one day be a thing. Essentially, it would be a BDSM AU adaption, with a better ending, of Carmilla. Of the two bits included here, the first is intended as a prologue, the second is a start of an actual relationship between the girls. (This is either as general as you can be when it comes to talking about BDSM concepts, or a light teen, considering all that’s mentioned here is the terms dominant and submissive, mentions of kneeling, references to unnamed blood kink.)
They say those most lucky dream of their soulmates, which will often give the dreamer an idea of their designation as well, since if the soulmate in the dream presents one way, there is only the other for the dreamer. If so, perhaps those who aren't so lucky, whose future spell a certain darkness, may dream as well. I think I certainly did, now that I know what I know. I was too young, then, to understand anything but being afraid, but what young girl wouldn't, dreaming of blood, and of being clawed or bitten on the chest? It had seemed a mere curiosity at first, the darkness in my room, the beautiful, intimidating woman slinking out from it - though sometimes, I thought it was a cat, not a woman.
A child too young to really know fear, I was just curious at first, especially certain as I was that it was a dream.
How could something so beautiful be terrifying? I was entranced, not cowering. I wanted to ask who she was, but her presence intimidated me, much like my father's did sometimes. She didn't ask me to speak, so I was silent as the shadows approached. As she came to my bedside, stroking the hair away from my cheek. As pain pierced my young chest, and I woke in utter distress, crying like a babe.
Mostly, I think, it was because aside from pain, it... It's hard to admit it, even now, even with what's going on, but it--- It hadn't just hurt. It'd also <i>felt good</I>, after the initial, twinned lances of pain. It filled me up to overflowing, and that seemed worse than the pain, than waking alone and lost in my bed and feeling as if I was empty of something that hadn't even been there!
So I cried, calling the whole house down upon me, and allowed the fussing to soothe me.
I only told of the woman I'd seen in my dream, and while I was certain it was a dream, I made them all go through my room just to be sure, especially my father who, with his steady, towering presence could surely master anything that would enter our halls and make it leave.
You have to forgive me, I was young, and this still... the implications...
I fear them, even as something yearns within me. I can only hope it <i>was</I> a true dream, for maybe, then, I will finally get to see more of the world. But no...
That is probably not it.
That woman, as much as she looked like dear Carmilla, was clearly a dominant, and as darkly intense as Carmilla can be... She's unpresented and so soft, too, and have never challenged Papa. So no matter how much that woman in my dream looked like Carmilla, no matter how much I can imagine her doing what was done... I think it must merely be the foolish yearning within me. It always quietens when I keel for prayer, or at Papa's knees so he can press his hand to my brow.
Forgive me, I am rambling.
I don't know why I even thought of that dream... I shall probably have to attribute it to my own pernicious desires, which seem to crop up as soon as Carmilla so much as <i>looks</i> at me. Ridiculous, and shameful, to be reacting so to someone who hasn't presented their dynamic yet.
Anyway, perhaps we should catch up to where we were?
Her prayers had not been enough. The firm press of smooth, polished wood against her knees hadn't been enough, because it was only her own weight keeping her there. Clenching a slightly trembling hand to her stomach so as to not slip it further down, Laura scrunched her eyes shut and buried her teeth in her lip.
Taking a hand to herself wouldn't be enough either, as sweet as the simple relief would be. Not even that most shameful of desires would be fit to satisfy her right now. Clawing at her chest until she came away bloodied, or fetching the knife in her drawer, that would only hurt. It wasn't the pain she wished for, or <i>just</i> the flow of blood.
It had to come at another's hand, another's will. Someone who would take it from her at and for their own pleasure, and make her want and need it from that. And who even was there, to satisfy such a terrible want? Her papa would be disgusted (and rightly so!) and then concerned and call the doctor, the same would happen if she went to Madame Perrodon or Mademoiselle La Fontaine. All the doctor would do would be to give her medicine, and perhaps that was to be preferred, but...
But she was most wretched, for if she couldn't have the gift of a dominant’s hand, she wanted to feel the need, not be numbed towards it.
The idea of informing a potential dominant of this desire of hers, though... the idea coagulated into a thick, ugly clot in her gut, which did nothing for her trembling desire, warming her limbs with beginning arousal. She could not. She would simply have to suffer---
"Laura."
Startling, Laura jerked upright in her bed, pulling her hand away from her stomach as if she'd burned it, the shame and guilt flooding her as if she'd really had her hand between her legs, and stared, wide-eyed.
"C-carmilla? I--- Ah, it's, oh. It's late." The words felt slow, dumb, falling out of her stiff mouth heavily, her heart thundering away. She wanted to squirm under Carmilla's dark stare, but if she moved she would do something shameful and reveal herself.
"You didn't hear me when I knocked, so I came in..." Carmilla said, her soft voice quiet and blending with the darkness of the room; she was barely close enough to be lit by the low light from the gas lamp at her bedside. Her hair was unbound, and tumbling everywhere, which didn't help her at all. Swallowing heavily Laura opened her mouth, floundered on her words, and turned her head away. She couldn't---
"I can help you, Laura." The words were spoken <i>right next to her ear</i>, and Laura startled again, whipping her head around and barely avoiding to smack into Carmilla's snub little nose.
"Wh-what? I wasn't--- I simply couldn't sleep, Carmilla, it's--- Ah!" Gasping at the hand around her throat and cradling her jaws, Laura shuddered from the suprising strength in that small, slender hand.
"It is very naughty to lie, darling," Carmilla said, shaking Laura's head for her with her grip, "and I don't even have the right to punish you for your naughtiness at the moment, but I can still help you. Would you wish it?"
"But... you..." Laura stared into Carmilla's vivid eyes, her own eyes wide, pupils wider still, as that dark gaze trapped her. Sucked her down, made her knees tremble with desire, <i>need</I> to bend, even as she was sitting and could not. "You're... unpresented..?" It was a question, and even as she asked it, Laura knew that no, Carmilla was most certainly <i>not</i> unpresented. Her dynamic was clear as day, in this dark room, and her blood fell so fast she almost swooned with it.
"Of course I'm not, and you already knew that."
She opened her mouth, a protest on the tip of her tongue, but Carmilla shook her head again, harsh enough to make her curls fly about her shoulders.
"You really should be more honest with yourself, my darling. You aren't actually dumb, and yet..."
Laura flushed, filled with a shame she'd never known before, and could for a moment not place it, either, until it came to her. It was the sort of shame that came from having disappointed someone's expectations, even when she didn't know Carmilla would have those expectations... would even know it was a possibility to have them. She wasn't wrong, however. She'd known, she really had, from the moment Carmilla had taken her hand and squeezed it.
That thrill that had shot through her, like she'd been pierced by a lance - it hadn't been the weakness of her muscles, she'd wanted to <i>kneel</I>.
"Carmilla! How could you come in here on false pretens---!" Laura gasped as her head was shaken roughly again, then Carmilla's grip softened, her thumb trailing along her jaw, back and forth.
"I did not claim a thing, Laura, and my mother only presented me as her child, in need of a place to stay... I would be remiss if I didn't point out your father did all the assuming of the circumstances. Now, do you wish my help, or not?" Carmilla's voice went from flatly factual to slow and dark, and their noses were almost touching. Carmilla wanted her to say yes. She wanted to say yes, but how... she couldn't---
"I... dear Carmilla, you don't even know what I need, I couldn't ask it of you!" She was blushing again, and wished she could sink through her bed, into the floor, and stay there. She had known Carmilla was a dominant, and she hadn't told Papa because she'd remembered her dream, and maybe, so selfishly, she'd hoped...
Carmilla laughed. A soft, sweetly dark little chuckle and leaned forward to kiss her cheek, her forehead, her eyelids, Laura reflexively closing her eyes for it.
"Darling Laura, of course I know. You're a caterpillar whose chrysalis is about to crack, and I've always known. You called to me the moment the carriage was close enough, but I knew Mama wouldn't stop, so I made the horses spook... Let me help you, and let us see where it goes from there?"
Her heart was racing again, but her blood felt sluggish.
"Carmilla... did yo---" A slender little finger was placed against her lips, pushing down.
"Let us talk about the details later, my pretty little butterfly. Did you wish me to help?"
The word was on her tongue, in her blood, making her tremble with the need for voicing it, and she couldn't say it, she couldn't, what if Carmilla actually didn't understand--- No. Be honest with yourself, Laura. She could see it in the green-flecked depths of Carmilla's eyes, had felt it in the subtle pressure of Carmilla's nails digging into her throat as she held her there. Carmilla understood. Carmilla knew.
"Y-yes. Please. It's such a terrible thing but I can't--- It's shameful, but I just---!"
The kiss, hot but soft, dry, brushed against her lips and silenced her.
"There is no shame in need, darling. And where there is need, there is always love."

FINE THEN I’LL PROMPT MYSELF
Hollstein + 3 + 17 (randomly generated)
Star Trek au + Can turn doors into portals (on purpose or accidentally) au
When the Silas flickered into darkness, Laura’s stomach swooped like she’d taken a plummet off a cliff. She’d woken earlier to the red alert, but Captain Belmonde hadn’t sent out a personnel message. No battle stations. No commands for Laura to flex her counselling skills in the medbay triage.
Even more than anyone else on the ship, Laura felt terrified. Screaming, living terror, that spat fire at her heart, sending her heart rate rocketing far past a comfortable range for a human heart.
If the power was out, the doors were out. And that meant Laura couldn’t move.
It only seemed to be a problem when Laura was directly involved in opening the door — walking toward a door and having it open automatically hadn’t caused any accidental trips.
Yet. There was always the possibility of more. Laura special gift was much more of a problem down on Earth, where old-fashioned hinged doors still reigned. One wrong move, and she’d step over a threshold to a different dimension.
Nobody could know. Whatever advancement still existed for ships counsellors... Laura wasn’t going to get it if Starfleet command got wind of her little problem.
Her door seemed to grin at her, shadows of stars speckled across the sleek peach. Laura wanted to kick it, but that risked jolting it a crack open. After last time, she was less than keen to get exposed to vacuum via her magical, unscientific powers.
So. She would have to wait.
With the computer out, Laura couldn’t be sure of the time, but something close to half an hour later, her door shivered and fingers appeared between the cracks. Carmilla squeezed through the gap and tumbled into Laura’s quarters, her hair crackling out from her braid and her eyes wild. Laura scrambled up from her chair and they caught each other halfway. Laura couldn’t tell which one of them was doing the trembling.
Something rattled against Laura’s door, already automatically shut behind Carmilla. The both of them ignored it for the moment, Carmilla holding Laura like she half-believed Laura would melt away. “Laura. I thought-”
Laura leant in, resting her forehead against Carmilla’s. The terror started to ebb, bubbling down to a sick sadness. “I’m alright. I was just... waiting. There weren’t any instructions.” Again, the door made a strange noise, like pebbles from beneath an antigrav mover.
Carmilla broke away, stalking around Laura and into her bedroom, examining her things like she expected Laura to suddenly have started living a disco-style life. “So there’s been-”
“Nobody around.” Not that Laura had checked. How could she?
Carmilla bent to check under the bed, her brows drawn tight. “No dust bunnies.” She sighed, as if that statement had made any sense at all. “Can you grab the door? I want to double-check the hall-
“You open the door.” Laura folded her hands , refusing to let the tremble betray her. Carmilla gave her an odd look, but went and prised the door open herself.
On the other side lay emptiness. The corridor should have been full of worried crew members, or at least some signs of life. Dust coated the floor, an inch thick at least.
Laura’s stomach swooped again, but this time it wasn’t the fear. Laura tapped a foot to the ground and all but went flying, the near indefatigable gravimetric plating finally failing out from beneath them. Carmilla fell back with the shock of it, the door clanging back to a closed position.
A shudder, and the gravity came back on, weak. Laura recognized it as half-strength. The kind that allowed you to get enough grip to flee, but no more.
The door popped again, the thudding more insistent.
Laura had a choice. “Carm,” she said, her hands still folded, her fingers aching with the stress. “Do you trust me?”
Carmilla looked at her with that wild look back in her eyes, the one she’d had when she came through the door expecting to see Laura gone. “Laura.” She took a step closer, hand twitching at her side. She seemed bemused, almost, that Laura would be asking. “Cupcake. Of course.”
Laura took a deep breath, the taste of electricity thick on her tongue. They could be walking into a vacuum. They could be walking into the headquarters of the Obsidian Order. “Then follow me.”
For the first time in five and a half years, Laura steeled her nerves and clawed open a door.

More angst for the Homophobic Heaven AU:
The Exterminations, and therefore the Exorcists, didn't exist until thousands of years after Carmilla's fall. When they DID begin Carmilla and a few other Fallen Angels tried to fight back, only to be stopped and teleported away by Lucifer. He told them that the Exterminations were to cut down the sinner population, and while some of them questioned this decision, most accepted it.
Carmilla, on the other hand, was furious. And after the other Fallen have left, demanded to know which idiotic Elder decided that EXTERMINATION was a good idea. Only for Lucifer to tell her that SERA was the one who signed off on it. Carmilla refused to belive this, the Sera she knew and loved WOULD NEVER. Maybe she was just the one that the Elders put forth to negotiate the term? Yeah that MUST be it. Because if not... NO, her Sera would never agree to something this barbaric.
For Clara and Odette in this AU, I was thinking maybe they're Zestial's. After a couple of Beetlejuice Carmilla and Zestial get "acquainted" which results in the twins. They don't get together but they still remain good friends. Like an amicably divorced couple. He knows Carmilla is still in love with Sera and while he fills in the Father role for the girls, he makes sure to tell them stories that Carmilla told him of Sera, their other Mama.
"What do you mean Sera is responsible? She would never do this! I refuse to believe it!"
Carmilla stands before Lucifer Morningstar, king of Hell, embodiment of Pride, who is sitting on his throne, looking toward him as if he doesn't have the power to rip her asunder with a mere twitch of his claws. The amount of rage and anguish she feels at his words, the sense of outright betrayal and disbelief coursing through her body, give her a sense of bravery and defiance that any of the other embodiments of Sin simply wouldn't tolerate from their subjects.
But this is Lucifer. Her friend, her former comrade in arms, her brother, allowing her to show this much insubordination. Because he knows how she must feel, and it's not like he can fault her for it. Not one bit. Not when this news is so personal.
"Carmilla. I know this may be difficult to hear. But this information comes directly from the Elders. While someone may not be telling me the entire truth...until I hear otherwise, I have to work under the assumption that it's true."
"NO! It's not true! It can't be true! She's not that cruel!"
He's never seen so much anger in Carmilla's eyes before. Never so much raw grief and lack of composure; not from one of his oldest and closest friends. He can tell this is eating her up inside. Whether it's true or not, he can't say, but the news is having the likely intended effect on Carmilla. Heaven had wanted to wear them all down. What better way to do that, than for the source of the misery to be coming from the one Carmilla loves most?
Carmilla's companion, the demon spider Zestial, places a large, gangly black claw on the woman's shoulder. He's been standing behind her the entire time, trying not to get in the way of official angel business. He's only a Sinner, but Carmilla will rarely go anywhere without him, these days. Lucifer has permitted his presence, for her sake. He's quiet, studious, and well-behaved enough, for a Sinner. It's the least he can do.
Unfortunately, the ancient Sinner's attempt to comfort her doesn't work as well as he'd probably hoped. Carmilla steps forward, away from Zestial and closer to Lucifer. Getting up in his face. Breathing hard; pupils blown wide; for all the world like she wants to slap him.
She doesn't. It's not his fault. What good would it do, anyway? Squabbles among siblings is so beneath her. It would lead to nothing except more pain and anger between the two of them. It would accomplish nothing and make her feel even worse than she does right now.
She steps back again, her claws clenching even tighter together, and turns around to face away from him.
"I have some business I need to attend to," Lucifer says, looking up at her back that is now facing him, trying to distill the tension by offering himself a way out. "Again, I'm so sorry, Carmilla. You can stay here as long as you need to, to...compose yourself. I'll keep the others away."
Lucifer is gone in the time it takes to blink. He's teleported himself away from Carmilla's presence, not even bothering to use the door to his throne room. He likely doesn't want the others to catch a glimpse of Carmilla in her moment of weakness. She mentally thanks him for that, at the very least. Carmilla knows the way she's acting is very unbecoming. It's not like her at all.
But how is she supposed to act. When he...when Lucifer had...when he'd told her that news?
Without the presence of her king forcing her to keep it together, Carmilla's composure quite literally shatters. The woman can almost feel her heart being torn in two, as easily as someone might rip a piece of paper. With a sob of anguish, she falls apart, in every sense that a person can. Instead of collapsing onto the floor, which would be easier, she rushes toward Zestial, his arms already open and bringing her in to be sheltered by his heated embrace.
Carmilla cries, she wails, into the obsidian of his robes. He just holds her there, stroking her hair comfortingly, letting the long, loose strands flow through his claws like water.
Carmilla hadn't even had time to fix her hair this morning. That's how little she'd cared about the usual decorum of these angelic meetings. She'd told him she needed to talk to Lucifer right now, it couldn't wait, and he'd dropped everything, and teleported her right into the throne room with the seven Deadly Sins. Her and Zestial's presence hadn't exactly been...expected, but Lucifer had tolerated it. For her.
Now, as Carmilla's tears begin to soak into his robe, she grasps into the dark material with her claws, pulling a little too hard, until the fabric starts to rip. Zestial doesn't stop her, though. His robes have been through worse, and he's rather talented with a spinning wheel, so he'll just deal with it later. This is so much more important.
"How could she?" Carmilla weeps into his chest. "How could she, Zestial?"
"My dearest Carmilla," the old spider says, holding her closer to him with both arms. The hand on the back of her head strokes her neck. "We know not yet if the king spake truth, or if Heaven doth but jest with thee. Have faith, Carmilla."
"How?" Carmilla asks, bluntly. "How do I have faith in anything anymore?"
"When we are lost, and all doth seem hopeless, faith is all that remains. Heaven shall employ any wiles to make all appear for naught. Believe them not now."
Carmilla starts to calm. The smell of him, the smoke and ash wafting off the Sinner's body, is both familiar and comforting. She knows he speaks truth; Heaven cannot be trusted. It is not without precedent for them to say anything to drive a wedge between the fallen angels, or make it seem so hopeless, there's no use in fighting back. Carmilla is so embarrassed of herself. Like a child, she'd lashed out, and taken it out on Lucifer. Leave it to her oldest, dearest friend and companion to have more logic than herself.
Ever since she'd manifested down here, after Heaven had pushed her out, Zestial had been one of the few non-angels she's trusted. He's always been so different, more human, for lack of a better comparison, than any of her comrades that had fallen before her. They had changed too much, too drastically, for her to even recognize them at first. They'd lost their spark, their will to fight back...
Zestial, however, is a soul with as much wisdom as some of the angels in Heaven. He'd never lost his will to fight. In fact, it's one of the reasons he's lasted so long down here, and become such a powerful overlord. He knows when to show his hand, and also when to take a step back and assess. When to scheme, when to plan, and when to retreat. That's part of what she likes about him.
The fact that he's kind, patient, and loyal to a fault, is another reason. As well as the fact that he loves her so thoroughly, so passionately, and shows it, is yet another. She tries not to compare him to Sera, because they are absolutely not even remotely the same, but the way he holds her, kisses, her, makes love to her...it reminds her of her lost love, and the way she felt around Sera back in Heaven. But not quite. He is his own person, and had known going into this that there is still baggage there, that Carmilla still loves Sera, and yet...
He still holds her. Comforts her. Gives everything to the children they brought into the world together. Helps her keep that memory of Sera, a woman he's never met, alive for them, through his stories and fanciful tales. He doesn't have to do any of that. Gets absolutely nothing out of it except for Carmilla's endless gratitude and satisfaction. But maybe that's why he does it... Helping her and being there for her makes him happy. Carmilla doesn't think she'll ever be able to repay him.
Once Carmilla is calm, and she can look up at him with minimal new tears falling from her eyes, she can see his face is sad. But for her benefit, he smiles, ever so slightly, in that crooked, adorable way that he does. He pushes her hair behind her ear, away from her face, and then holds her cheek in his hand, to stroke it lightly.
"Fret not, Carmilla. All will become clear. Let us return to Odette and Clara. They are likely concerned for thee."
Carmilla nods. Once again, he's most likely correct. They'd left in such a hurry that morning, they hadn't had time to let the girls know where they were going.
"Okay," Carmilla says. "You're right. Let's go back."
Zestial nods in return, and then bends down, placing a final kiss to her forehead. It's not...romantic, per se, or platonic, either. It's somewhere in between. Or on a different plane entirely. It's hard to put a word to what their relationship is. But that's fine. They don't need a name for it. They are exactly what they need to be for each other, at this particular moment in time.
Pulling away, Carmilla wipes the remaining tears from her eyes. Then Zestial re-opens the portal, so they can go home to their girls, and rest off the stress of the day.
(Edit: Tagging @tanema123 cuz I know they love these two goobers, and who knows when I’ll dip my toe into Zestmilla again, Lmao)
