don flamenco cryptid allegations real?? (backstory time)
CW// Abuse, Gore
Don Flamenco, born Donatello Fernandez Ojeda, was born in Madrid, Spain. He has two twin brothers, Dani Fernandez Ojeda and Florián Fernandez Ojeda. Ppl involved: His mother Antonia, his aunt (on his father’s side) Juliana, his father Nico and his uncle (on his mother’s side) Rafael.
Don already didn’t have a very nice homelife. With an emotionally abusive father and a mother who felt she couldn’t help him nor stick up for him (like she didn’t know what to do,) he suffered from a very early age. What he usually got slack for from his dad was his supernatural ability. Botanokinesis, or plant manipulation, and how he wanted a “normal son.” We’ll get more into that power in a second.
However, for what Antonia could offer her son for comfort, this ended up blossoming Don’s love for flowers, especially roses. Antonia didn’t work with plants for her day job as she was a perfumer, but she definitely had an admiration for flowers that she passed onto Don. When they spent time together outside their family home, she would take him to a farm owned by Rafael, who was a farmer. There, she would have Don nurture the flower beds made with him in mind. Don’s power worked on an emotional spectrum. So, if he were upbeat and happy, flowers would be able to prosper with his touch. However, on the other side, he could kill any plant he came into contact with if his feelings were strong enough. The farm was Antonia’s way of trying to help Don feel less ashamed of what she called his gift.
In his childhood years, Don frequented the farm with his mother when he could, in the times he would be free from school.
Speaking of school, Don was a decently smart boy but his power certainly made it kind of difficult to live a normal school life. That wasn’t really the problem; other kids were. He was a target of bullying for no real reason, and it got progressively worse. Though Don always tried to keep them away from him, it all blew over one day when Don was heading home on his bicycle. One of his bullies tossed a rock at his back wheel, causing him to tumble to the ground while they all laughed at him. Enraged, something happened to Don. Something that hadn’t happened before.
When Don’s magic normally surfaced, the only thing that would physically change was his eyes. This was because he was directing all intention into his fingers, causing his eyes to go blank. However, this time around, his eyes went blank… and red dots appeared in place of his pupils. Even more frightening was the fact that his fingertips became somewhat discolored. Darker.
In no time at all, Don rushed the boy who knocked him over and grabbed onto his wrist with a vice grip. He viciously swore at the boy in Spanish. The rest stood in shock for a while till the boy began to cry and shudder in intense fear, which caused them to finally pry Don off of him.
The group told the school staff about what had happened, and Don was immediately put under fire. Apparently the boy’s wrist had been seized by a strengthening numbing sensation all the while Don had him in his grasp, which lingered for a while after they had gotten him off. It also had a visible bruise.
This got Don expelled.
As a result of Don’s expulsion, Nico grilled Antonia and demanded to know what she had been doing with their son. When she explained, he blew up even worse and told her that Don shouldn’t embrace the gift; the gift he thought was a curse. It would only cause him trouble. It wasn’t normal. And Antonia just had to sit there and listen.
This meant that Don had much more time to spend with his uncle, Rafael. Even if Rafael wasn’t the most pleased that Don had ridden himself of an education, he saw it from Don’s point of view and forgave his nephew. Even if the abuse had gotten worse after that, Rafael had a way with words; he continued to get Don to embrace the power he was given, and often complimented him on his connection with nature, when Don felt horrified that he had hurt someone with his power.
“You know, mi sobrino… Tu papá no entiende lo que significa ser diferente. He likes to think that your power is what you should be running from. What you should hate about yourself, because no one else around you has it. …The truth is, your father is different too. He’s not normal. Yet he tries so hard to act like he is because that is how he thinks he must live. And that is how he wants you to as well. But make no mistake, Donatello. If everyone was the same, this world would be plain. …You are one who makes it interesting. Yes, you hurt someone, and that’s not okay. But that is one stepping stone in learning who you are, niño.”
Eventually, Don would receive new additions to his family; two twin brothers, Dani and Florián. And (much to Nico’s horror) it turns out that these two also had their own gifts. Dani had the ability to nourish fruits and vegetables, while Florián had innate knowledge of herbalism.
As Don emerged into his teenage years, his father pretty much dragged him into becoming a matador to do something with his life. (Fun fact- apparently you can start training to become a matador at 14.) It was a hard time for Don as he didn’t feel comfortable doing it, still in a time of deep insecurity about himself. But Nico practically forced him to continue his training. Over those 7 years, things didn’t get much better. He was trained by his aunt, Juliana, a female matador. She was just like her brother, that should tell you enough.
When Don was 21, he officially became a matador. (By this time, the twins were 10 years old.) He was one of the best; very skilled and hiding his troubles behind a stoic yet charming exterior, he seemed to completely disconnect from who he wanted to be, or rather who he already was. He became popular with the masses and was beloved by many.
However, something horrible happened a year later.
During a show, Don had been performing as per usual. It had been going spectacularly up until that point, but suddenly it took a turn for the worst. As he aggravated the bull once more to get it to run towards him for the final blow, the bull jerked its head upwards, causing him to impale himself with his own esoque. (sword used in bullfighting.)
The bull, still agitated, threw Don like a ragdoll across the ring and made the damage all the worse. It was only when Julianna finally stopped the bull that Don was able to be rushed out of there to get help.
Don was in a critical state for a very long time. It left his family in immense trepidation for his life. At the worst time possible. Rafael, who caught wind of the news, quickly drove into town to visit his nephew. He cursed out both Nico and Julianna, and was one of the only people that stayed with Don frequently while he was recovering (Don was unconscious for the whole thing.) Florián and Dani also stayed by their brother’s side, waiting for him to wake up. (Should be noted that medical staff told them that they were unsure if Don would recover.) Florián, who had gotten rather good at herbalism, decided to take a shot at making something for Don.
Creating a healing mixture, with Rafael’s permission, Florián tested it out. It seemingly reacted well with Don’s magic… at first. Though it worked, it gave a rather sinister look as it began to heal the injuries on his body.
Meanwhile back home, Florián and Dani had been planning a special gift for Don when he returned home. A garden of flowers, nourished by Florián’s mixtures, with Don’s favorite food and desserts made by Dani with the help of Rafael. This was all done in secret away from Nico and Julianna, deep underneath the house.
Don eventually woke up. But something had changed about him.
Everyone noticed it as soon as Don was released from the hospital. Don was… different. With dark-ish scars on his body from the incident, he had become completely reserved. A stark difference from the desperate dreamer he once was.
Julianna, suspecting it was Florián’s doing, immediately questioned him. He confessed without fear, saying that she should be thankful for his gift saving Don’s life. Julianna slapped him and sent him to the ground. Don saw.
Nico confronted Dani about his brother’s doings, but was quickly shut down by Rafael telling him to leave Dani alone, and to be grateful that his son didn’t die. Don also saw this, and heard his father say that while he was glad he wasn’t dead, he wanted his children to be forbidden from using their powers. And for Rafael and Antonia to quit making them think they can do otherwise. Since everyone was staying in the family home to be with Don after his accident, it made what happened next all the more sinister.
One early morning, Antonia awoke with a god awful feeling in her chest. Something bad had happened. She rose from her bed and went to check on Julianna. She walked in to find Julianna face down in her bed, not moving. When she looked closer, she found that her sister-in-law’s neck was creeping with a black color. She was dead.
She was horrified. She quickly ran to Nico’s room to tell him what had happened, but found her husband hanging off the side of his bed. The familiar blackness had spread on his left wrist and the side of his neck.
He was also dead.
Antonia then went to check on Rafael, who was thankfully alright. But he was in a deep sleep, so she was unable to wake him before she remembered that she should check on Florián and Dani. She rushed to the staircase only to see something else happening.
Before Antonia had awoken, the twins were putting the final touches on their surprise gift for their big brother. With the help of their uncle the night before, Dani had made Don’s favorite foods and a couple of desserts, while Florián had finished growing the large bushels of roses that he knew Don loved. They were initially planning to keep it a secret between the siblings, but the twins decided that perhaps they could sway their father and aunt into letting them embrace their powers by serving everyone and showing them what they could make.
They went to fetch Don from his bedroom, but found that his bed was perfectly still. Like it hadn’t been touched. Don suddenly appeared out of nowhere and asked the boys what they were doing up so early. The two, though confused by his abrupt appearance, guided him to the garden. He knelt down, hugged his brothers and thanked them. But the boys could feel a cold sensation shock their bodies as he did.
When Dani questioned it, Don told him to not be afraid.
The next thing he told them was to take care of their mother and their uncle. And that he loved them.
What Antonia saw was the twins staring at the front door of their home, in utter shock. In deep confusion.
That was the last time the family ever saw Donatello.

📽️ The Valet (2022)
This is probably not going to be a popular opinion for this movie, since I saw several TikToks disagreeing with me. But I did not find this funny. I didn’t laugh or even chuckle much, if at all. I know it’s not supposed to be a serious movie, but it’s 100% unbelievable. It’s also not original or fresh. It’s overdone, actually. I just was not a fan.
Sex/nudity: 4/10 (kissing, fake sex, implied sex, detailed sexual talk)
Language: 3/10 (no f-bombs that I remember, some other milder cursing)
Violence: 1/10 (one punch)
Overall rating: 3/10

Theories & Speculations about Canto 7: Lightning Round
So, I've had a much longer, more essay formatted post sitting in my drafts on here for a while, and even longer on my main blog where I imported it from. But seeing as Canto 7 is just on the horizon and my real life obligations haven't gotten any lighter, I've decided that instead of writing a Big Long Theory Post about Canto 7, I would instead summarize my main thoughts/beliefs/speculations into bullet points on a single post. This still ended up being really long though. Anyway, without further ado:
Project Moon's interpretation of Don Quixote seems inspired in part by the musical Man of La Mancha. While I've seen many consider it an adaptation of Don Quixote, it's...not really. It's loosely based off of it. In the musical, it follows Miguel de Cervantes and his unnamed servant who have been imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition and put on a play for the prisoners where Cervantes plays Don Quixote and his servant plays Sancho Panza. A female prisoner/prostitute named is chosen to play Dulcinea. She is a principal character in the play.
In the book, Dulcinea is little more than a figment of Quixote's imagination. Aldonza is only mentioned in one sentence at the end of the first chapter. She's also a slaughterhouse worker and not a prostitute.
I have absolutely no idea which interpretation Project Moon will go with. But I find it interesting that Don Quixote hasn't mentioned Dulcinea at all, while in the book she probably comes up every other sentence.
Dulcinea = Carmen?
I think the likely villain candidatesfor this Canto are either Sanson Carrasco or "Avellaneda".
Sanson Carrasco, also known as the "Knight of Mirrors" or "Knight of the White Moon" is a guy from Don Quixote's town who along with the barber and priest (make note of that btw) takes it upon himself to cure Don Quixote of his presumed madness. He's kind of a smartass. He decides the best way to cure Don Quixote of his mental illness is to defeat him as the Knight of Mirrors but ends up getting beaten by Don Quixote, and he's not happy about this and swears revenge. Later he appears as the Knight of the White Moon, and defeats Don Quixote in a duel.
In Man of La Mancha, a prisoner known as "the Duke" is chosen to play Sanson Carrasco in the play, who pretty much does the same thing as he does in the book except he's much more cynical in the play.
The other candidate, Avellaneda, would be a very interesting and very Project Moon choice for an antagonist. Alonso Fernandez de Avellaneda was the pseudonym used by an author who wrote a fake sequel to the first part of Don Quixote, which Miguel de Cervantes didn't intend on writing an official sequel to until he saw Avellaneda's work and he hated it so much it spurred him into writing an actual sequel. The existence of the fake sequel is mocked and referenced in the second part of Don Quixote, and considering the events of Canto 6 I think that's worth keeping in mind.
Now onto actual speculation and called shots for Canto 7 since I've laid this groundwork:
I think that the plot of Canto 7, at least initially, may draw heavy inspiration from Man of La Mancha. I think the Bloodfiends from La Mancha Land are possibly taking humans captive through some kind of method (attracting them to the fair maybe?) and torturing them as entertainment. Through some kind of means, the Bloodfiends have also gotten a Golden Bough, but I'm unsure how or why they would use it. Maybe someone can provide some ideas.
Humans going missing and ending up at some kind of vampire torture fair is exactly the kind of case Moses would take on. It remains to be seen if she will be there in person, or if she'll communicate with Dante through a walkie talkie or radio. At the end of the teaser, she sounded like she was talking through a radio (assuming that was in fact Moses).
Sancho is either a Fixer who Don Quixote became friends with in between establishing her human form and joining Limbus Company, or he (assuming that the blue text from the teaser is Sancho) is a Bloodfiend. Maybe both? His text from the teaser seems to be encouraging Don Quixote's delusions.
I initially thought that the Bloodfiend from the teaser could be Dulcinea (or Marcela or Dorotea)* but a user pointed out to me that she's holding large scissors so she's probably the Barber. However, this morning I looked back at the MOTWE story cutscenes with Cassetti and he refers to the Barber with he/him pronouns. I don't know if this means anything, or if it's an oversight or retcon from Project Moon.
I think there's a strong possibility that, following the Man of La Mancha line of thought, Don Quixote's true Bloodfiend identity is Miguel de Cervantes. A lot of people seem to agree with this. However, I haven't seen anyone really make any shots as to why she would seal herself away, and I think I have a plausible answer:
Being a member of the elder generation of Bloodfiends from before the White Nights and Dark Days, Cervantes is primarily nonviolent and doesn't want much to do with humans. After the White Nights and Dark Days spawned a new generation of Bloodfiends who were significantly more prone to violence, violent attacks on humans increased and this alerted even more people to the existence of Bloodfiends---especially people who would like to hunt and kill them. This put the lives of Cervantes' Kindred at grave risk, and not wanting to fight or kill humans, she sealed herself away and invented a human persona---and possibly her Kindred as well, hence how Sancho could also both be a Fixer and a Bloodfiend.
She might have invented Don Quixote with the express purpose of creating a human self who had a strong sense of justice and right the wrongs of the City. Maybe she became a Bloodfiend to start with in order to escape the injustice of the City.
This would line up extremely well thematically with both the novel and Man of La Mancha. Sancho supporting Don Quixote's dreams (or her human persona in general) could support this idea if we assume he is a Bloodfiend.
Meanwhile, the Bloodfiends are more concerned with getting their Second Kindred back once they realize who she is. This would align well with the Barber and Sanson, assuming that Sanson is a Bloodfiend and not a Bloodfiend hunter.
I realize that this is kind of a slapdash post, but I was really running out of time and on top of being both sick today and having two papers due on Sunday, I needed to get this out before Canto 7. I realize that this doesn't touch on many aspects, like the associations with Carmilla, other characters like Dorotea, Marcela, Cardenio, the priest, etc but I decided for the sake of time that I would talk about them if/when they appear in Canto 7. Regardless, I would like to hear everyone's thoughts if they have any!

Jana Fernandez x Aria O’Hara (oc)
@liverpoolfan96 hope that you like!!
warnings: no one
words: 1k
Masterlist - part.2
─ ⋅◈⋅ ━─┉┈◈❖◈┈┉─━ ⋅◈⋅ ── ⋅◈⋅ ━─┉┈◈❖◈┈┉─━ ⋅◈⋅ ─
ARIA’S POV:
"ARIAA" shouted my roommate, Lola as she threw herself at me to wake me up, "Lola, let me sleep" I grumbled. "No, it's game day today!!!!" she said as she got up to open my curtains to help me wake up.
"Who are we playing again?" I asked her as I got up and went into the bathroom to shower and start getting ready. "Against Barcelona, so get a move on, it's going to be a tough one this afternoon" she said as I left my room.
I had already been at Atletico Madrid for almost a year, I joined on loan before the club's season started, so towards the end of Gotham FC's season. I had a hard time getting used to the change of temperature, landscapes and peoples, but the most bizarre thing was to be so far away from my sister Kelley, we have always been inseparable since I was born, I've always followed her in everything she's done, she's my inspiration even though I'm in her shadow, but now I'm finally going to be able to reveal myself to the world as Aria O'Hara, a midfielder for Atletico Madrid, and not Aria O'Hara, Kelley O'Hara's sister.
//
When it was time to leave, we took the bus to the Johan Cruyff stadium and went down to inspect the pitch before going into the dressing rooms to change. Once the shirts were on, we went to warm up.
"Aria come here please" said Manolo, my coach, "Yes what's going on?" I asked worried. "Don't worry, it's nothing serious, I just wanted to tell you that I was going to start you in the game today, I believe in your ability to win the duels in the middle of the field" he said, "Wow, thanks a lot coach, I won't let you down" I told him with a surge of confidence in myself. "Go finish your warm up, I want to see you shine tonight" he said, patting me on the shoulder, "Yes boss, right away!" I said half seriously and half jokingly as I mimicked the salute, and headed back to my teammates.
I was in the line, in the tunnel before going out for the match, when I saw her, number 5, Jana Fernandez, a young girl coming out of La Masia, I had always found her to have an unconditional charm, despite her fiery personality on the pitch. I suppose you can excuse her temper when she's adorable off the pitch.
//
We were in the 72nd minute of the game, when I saw on the board that she was going to come in for Irene Paredes, sadly we lose 3-0, it seems impossible for us to come back to equalize. 80th minute, we are trying to get the ball back, when all of a sudden Guijarro makes a bad pass that I intercede and I move forward with the ball at my feet but I feel a foot collide with my ankle, so I fall to the ground but despite the pain, it was quickly replaced by anger especially against the person who tackled me, and suddenly I was on my feet pushing the number 5. You could tell that this triggered something because one player punched me to the ground.
"Please, Aria stop, you're going to get a card" Lucia announced, from what I could understand despite my lack of Spanish, I knew that Jana was also being calmed down by Marta Torrejon, "Number 5, and number 28, come here please" the referee told us, we walked towards her and gave us a yellow card each. Knowing me Lucia stopped me before I went to protest the referee's decision.
//
The final whistle blew, we lost, 4-0, it hurt knowing that the end of the game was hot, but we will bounce back. As I was about to make my way back to the dressing room, Virginia and Carmen grabbed me and made their way with me to Jana who happened to be in the same position as me with Marta and Irene around her, "Well now I think we can agree that you behaved like a child tonight," Carmen said looking at me mostly, but I looked down to avoid her gaze. "We'll let you two talk, try not to kill each other" laughed Marta and Virginia as they left for the changing rooms.
"I'm-" "I'm-" we said at the same time, "oh go ahead if you want to start" I smiled politely, "Thanks. I'm sorry about the tackle, it was inappropriate and I'm sorry about my teammate who punched you" she smiled at me and looked at the floor, "Don't worry about the tackle, I'm sorry I pushed you, I don't usually react that badly, and don't worry about the punch, in a few days the mark will go away" I said, now was my chance to ask her.
"I wanted to know if you'd be willing to, you know, get to know each other? because you're very pretty and-" I said "Yes I'd love to" she cut me off before starting to leave but she turned around before adding "You've got my instagram anyway, just give me the address and the time and I'll be there. And you're very pretty too" she said, winking at me.
I was shocked for a good 5 minutes before Lola came to pick me up as we had to get back to the hotel.

"Donde no puedas amar, no te demores"
Frida Kahlo
Tumblr media
