I’ve mentioned before being forced! by The Algorithm to listen to synthwave, of which my favourite is Nina’s Synthian. As someone who is philosophically committed to never experiencing an emotion that can’t be sublimated, I am predictably into expressing melancholy through a hyper-precise artificial re-creation.

In the retro-fastidiousness synthpop mode, I’ve also been enjoying Chromatics and Wolfclub, while in the more pop-y synth-inspired mode, Carla Wehbe’s “Don’t tell Me” is particularly good, along withEden XO’s “American Youth French Kissing” and Kit Major’s “Miss Sixteen”. Ultraflex shift a bit more into Sally Shapiro italo territory.
