Warmth at winter
Whumptober 2024, number 30: Recovery, Hospital bed
Summary: Time had very plentiful ways of helping his boys. And some of those diverse ways put his life into danger. One such situation happened during a very cold winter night…
CW: Overheating (sweating, dizziness, nausea, fainting, fatigue), worry, fear, panic, cursing
Notion: - Part of my Ranch Family AU, the Modern Linked Unvierse stories - Time has lost his right eye and has the scar over it but he does NOT yet have Fierce Deity's markings.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
It was the coldest winter Time had so far encountered. He wasn’t certain if he had had higher body temperature straight off after birth or if it was something the orphanage’s owners had caused. Either way, he was fully grateful of it. Yet, there was one bad thing that his situation caused.
The one eyed male couldn’t be certain of the temperature of his boys’ rooms. He couldn’t just put a thermometer into there to know unlike in the stables and Cucco house. Yet, at least in those places the animals could get warmth from each other if needed. Not to mention that Epona would definitely let him know if those places weren’t warm enough.
Yet, mostly the ranch’s owner was fine with his boys crashing in his room. He enjoyed of their company and loved to look after them. At first, when it had been one to few, he was actually capable of helping. Now, with seven of them, he couldn’t deny the fact of it being bit too much.
One by him was no trouble. There was more than enough of room to move away if the heat started to be too much. Two was still good. One to both side with the bed being wide enough to provide the space in case one started to be sweaty beneath the blanket. Three started to need actual getting away. Four persons around him began to make him feel tad trapped. It was still plausible of shifting the boys bit away without waking them up but still providing the needed warmth. With five the warmth rose quicker underneath the blanket than what he wanted to admit into. He needed to squirm out of the hold and pretty much sit on his pillow to let his own body temperature to cool down a bit. Six caused him to really gasp for air, fight to keep his movements careful enough so he wouldn’t wake up his boys and get out of the hold before already pulling his shirt off. Seven ended up being in such way that one to few of the boys woke up as he forced his way out of the hold while feeling sweaty, bit dizzy and slightly nauseous. Yet, he still was able to cool down and assure his boys of things being fine and that it just got bit too hot for him. He always returned to his earlier place, though. Yet, he didn’t go beneath the blanket anymore as he just laid over it to prevent getting too warm again. Eight…
Things had started easy and normally at that night. Each of Time’s boys as well as his older brother had been sleeping at their own rooms. He had tried to make sure everyone’s rooms were warm enough but, for a reason or another, his family just made their way into his room. Still, each of them knew they could come to wake him up or just take a place from the bed if they felt like it.
It started from Four. The shortest boy had woken up from a nightmare and felt in the need of company. While still half asleep, the youngster went into the first place he could think of: Time’s room. He just climbed up onto the bed and crawled over to his caretaker. Time, being light sleeper, woke up already into the opening of his door. He smiled fondly at his boy and just raised the blanket to let him into a hug.
Next to come over was Sky. Besides the shortest boy, he was another one whom easily got cold. The youngster yawned while clutching the stuffed bird toy before scrambling to the bed. Time carefully shifted so he wouldn’t awaken the earlier kid as he moved to his back. He wrapped his free arm around the nearly asleep being pilot-to-be and smiled as the youngster snuggled close to him.
Hyrule was bit surprise one to come over after all three had calmed down and the ranch’s owner was drifting back to sleep. Usually the last boy he had adopted went over to Legend’s room but sometimes, like on that night, he came over to Time’s. Maybe it was because the room was the warmest of the whole house or then just the different kind of feeling of safety he gave to his boys. Either way the kid already snuck beneath the blanket when he reached the bed and just crawled up to snuggle next to Sky and getting close to his caretaker while being between the two males.
Wild was another unexpected boy to come over. The master chef, as Time called him every now and then, loved to snuggle next to Twilight. Yet, the one eyed male knew he shared some similar situations with his third boy that the others couldn’t and hopefully never would. Nonetheless, the youngster stayed beneath the blanket while snuggling close to the one eyed male’s leg and holding tightly. Time wasn’t too happy of not seeing his boy so he checked on him by raising the blanket. At least that eased the excessive amount of heat for a moment.
It didn’t take long before Wind followed the boy whom had been brought to the Lon-Lon Ranch just about six months before him. Like Hyrule and Wild, he too snuck beneath the blanket as soon as he had a chance for it. The youngest youngster of Time’s family claimed the one eyed male’s other leg without second thought.
Time had a feeling that Legend had been tossing and turning in his own bed for a while before he finally decided to check on whom of his brothers had already claimed their caretaker. “Just get in. Almost everyone’s already here.” The ranch’s owner whispered quietly when his second boy stood bit uncertainly by his bed.
“Who’s missing?” Legend inquired while taking a place from Hyrule’s other side while being careful of lower being Wild. He kept Time as a pillow while wrapping his arms around the younger male in front of him. He yawned and snuggled close to Hyrule with a small smile on his face.
“Twilight and Wars.” Time answered quietly even though he wasn’t certain if his boy heard him anymore. Yet, Legend just gave almost unnoticeable nod of understanding. “Sleep well my boys.” The one eyed male whispered with a fond smile while closing his eye and just relaxing again.
Twilight came over quite soon after Legend had calmed down and fallen asleep. “You good?” He inquired after he noticed Time having opened his eye and looking at him.
“All’s fine.” Time replied while at the moment feeling calm and well. The fact of having raised the blanket for Legend and let some of the warmth out had eased thing off. He hoped it was enough for the rest of the night. “Come on, Cub. Take a place.” He half suggested, half requested.
The first adopted son of the ranch’s owner hesitated for a second before he nodded and moved to Four’s side. He didn’t go beneath the blanket as he hugged the shortest brother of his from behind. At the same time, unintentionally, he got the youngster to be much closer to their caretaker. And, sadly, getting the blanket tad tight from the given side. Yet, Time hoped they were close enough to the morning to worry about that.
Wars had woken up to the almost constant sound of walking at the hallway. He had lived in barracks and such for quite a while so it shouldn’t have been something to awaken him. Yet, the ranch was something he really wanted to protect and hence he needed to know whom was walking at there. He had learned to recognize the seven boys’ footsteps during the few past months he had so far spend at the Lon-Lon Ranch.
Once the last boy of his little brother had snuck into the one eyed male’s room, the ex-Captain finally got up from his bed and moved to Time’s doorway. “You look comfy like that, little brother.” He commented fondly.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Time half queried while glancing at each of his boys and bit lifting the blanket too to check on the hidden ones. “I got my family right by me here.” He continued before grinning. “At least, I would have if you’d actually come over and take a place too.” He pointed out while giving something between a pout and puppy-dog-eyes to his older brother.
Wars chuckled softly and shook his head. “Alright, I get the hint.” He mused while taking a place from behind Sky. Like Twilight, he didn’t go beneath the blanket. He just snuggled close to his little brother’s fifth boy and wrapped one arm around the five years younger male’s chest. “Goodnight, Sprite.” He whispered fondly.
“Night, Wars.” Time mumbled happily while smiling as he fell asleep. Yet, he woke up only couple of hours later while feeling sweaty and too hot. His boys had moved even closer into the given warmth and tightened their hold around him. At first he just concentrated into his breathing while hoping for the situation to pass. Unfortunately, that wasn’t going to happen as his body temperature just kept rising underneath the blanket.
“Boys… Let go…” The one eyed male called and started to try and wiggle free. Sadly, that only got the seven boys of his to hold on stronger. He cursed and fought more while calling out to them. Yet, his voice was bit too weak and the youngsters and his older brother too deep asleep.
The sweating was followed by dizziness which caused the ranch’s owner to stop struggling. He fought to keep his breathing under control while trying to force his temperature down. Obviously, such wasn’t going to work like that. Slowly he started to rather gasp for air than breathe normally.
Time whined and trembled when the nausea struck. His attempts to move were weak and restricted by the seven around him. Even his brother’s arm felt like a rhino was sitting on his chest. He fought to stay conscious as the situation got worse. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a way for him to break free, wake the others up or get himself cooled down anymore. He quietly pleaded for help before darkness fell around him.
Wars woke up with a start only about five minutes later. He froze to his place when he felt and heard the labored sound of breathing. The cold dread and terror struck him and he recognized the feeling in a second. He hated how many times he had had that specific feeling back at the orphanage. And yet, he also was so very grateful of it as it had helped him to save his brother each and every time.
“Sprite?” He called out while quickly pushing himself up and being careful of where he put his hand. He inwardly cursed at the time his eyes took to get used to the darkness around him. “SPRITE!” He screamed out the moment the situation struck him. “Sprite, wake up!” He shouted and started to shake the unconscious little brother of his while bit slapping him but neither worked.
“Damn it, damn it, damn it!” The ex-Captain growled while realizing how sweaty and hot his brother’s skin felt. “Sky, Hyrule, sorry about this!” He half apologized, half growled out while forcing the duo off of his brother.
The duo gasped and yelped when the blanket was snatched away. “Hey!” Hyrule half shouted before gasping again as Wars forced him and Sky even more away from Time.
“Sprite! Sprite, damn it, wake up!” Wars kept half barking, half begging while doing his best to apologize to his brother’s boys as he forced them away. He yanked and pulled on the blanket to get it away.
“What’s going on? What’s wrong with Time?” Wind inquired while falling closer to panic.
“Overheating!” Wars snapped with a growl. “Fucking hell. Those son of bitches!” He snarled while forcing Time’s shirt off once he had the blanket away from him. “Get wet towels!” He commanded. “Cold water!” He half shouted after the few youngster that snapped into work. “They just had to mess with your body temperature, eh…” He whispered almost underneath his breath. “Those bastards just had to fuck it up. Cold during heat waves, hot during too cold winters.” He shook his head while trying to use the sweaty shirt as a fan.
Wild, Wind and Sky returned quickly with wet towels. Wars took them swiftly and started to do his best to cool his brother’s skin. “Damn it, Sprite, wake up already!” He commanded while having no idea how long his brother had been out of it. “Fucking shit, I should’ve figured it out. I should’ve stayed awake. I should’ve guarded you.” He mumbled while his actions weren’t working.
“Warriors…” Twilight called with bit wavering voice.
“Fuck this! I’m taking him to hospital!” Wars almost shouted while pulling his brother up from the bed. “Call the ambulance to the entrance of the town! Tell them Sprite’s having very bad case of overheating and he’s not waking up!” He commanded while rushing the five years younger male to the first floor. “Sky, Twi, you two drive the other two cars! Hyrule, you’re with me and Sprite!” He snapped the orders out while having carefully put the one eyed male down to the floor before quickly throwing on his jacket, snatching the keys and already putting the shoes on.
The seven youngsters of the ranch’s owner were swift in getting ready. There was no changing of clothes but just putting on enough to stay warm in the cold night. The boys were freaked out but the fact of Wars being capable of commanding them around aided them to stay calm enough to function. The older males did their best to soothe the younger ones.
Wars drove as fast as he could once Time was laying on the backseat with Hyrule watching over him. He was grateful of the meadow and wide areas to see. It helped to keep check on possible animals such as deer or foxes. Luckily the drive to the parking lot at the outside of the town went well and the ambulance was right there waiting for them.
Hyrule called both Wild and Four to inform of having reached the parking lot and having gotten to the ambulance. He and Wars stayed out of the way as the medical personnel worked with better knowledge and equipment in cooling down Time. Things seemed bit better by the time they reached the hospital as the one eyed male’s breathing had eased out towards normal.
Twilight and Sky drove to the hospital’s parking lot. Hyrule had kept both teams of his brothers updated on how things were going and which room to enter. For the rest of the night none of the eight males slept. Even though things were out of the worst, it still would take a while to fully recover from the incident.
Time woke up late at the next day with a whine. Yet, nearly instantly he struck his eye open with a start. “The boys!” He shouted out while sitting up abruptly but that only got him to whine even louder while bringing his hand over his mouth. He was feeling hellish and nauseous.
“Whoa! Easy, Sprite!” Wars nearly screamed while already gently laying his brother back down. “You gotta take it easy, damn it.” He growled before sighing and relaxing his tense shoulders at the freaked out look Time gave him. “The boys are fine. I’m fine. You’re the one who’s at the hospital bed in here.” He pointed out firmly before picking up the glass of water with a straw in there. “You need to drink.” He commanded while already offering it towards the one eyed male.
The seven boys of the ranch’s keeper and Wars stayed at the hospital with Time but they kept their distance. None of them wanted to repeat the incident for any of reason. While at there, Wild asked quite well anything he came up with considering foods that could be given to a patient of overheating. Wars and the others queried for all the other information just to make sure the one eyed male would make a full recovery.
It took about two days before Time was set free from the hospital. Yet, instead of going straight back to the ranch, the caretaker of the seven youngster queried for a detour. Sky and Twilight had fetched Wars’ car to the hospital’s parking lot during the first day just make sure everyone would get home without needing to wait for Wars to get his car.
The shop the ranch’s owner chose was selling beds, bed sheets, pillows, blankets and such. “What are you searching for, Sprite?” Wars inquired while following his little brother and looking around.
“I’m surprised you haven’t figured it out.” Time replied almost mischievously before shrugging. “But you’ll understand when I find it.” He continued while making his way straight into the section of blankets and linen. Once at there, he already started to go through them until grinning as he found what he was searching for. He knew it would end up bit pricy but it would definitely be worth it.
“That’s…” Wars half whispered as he stared at the gigantic blanket.
“The biggest there is.” Time replied while already fully knowing what he was doing. After finding the linen for the giant blanket, he searched out much smaller ones of both parts.
After paying and getting back home, the eight males with the ranch’s owner did as much as they could to help. They got the linen washed and kept close check on Time. They made sure he didn’t overdo himself and that he drank and ate often enough to keep the nausea, dizziness, dehydration and such away while recovering. At the next day, by the one eyed male’s instructions, they got the old bed sheets and blanket off.
The gigantic blanket was handled first and laid over the bed. After that came the smaller one into middle of the king sized bed. Only after that they put on the bed cover. “I’m still not getting it.” Wars stated out after everything was done.
“Before I explain…” Time started calmly before turning his gaze into the older male that had been like a brother to him for as long as he remembered. “Can I ask you something, Wars?” He inquired and the ex-Captain nodded without hesitation. “About my body temperature… Has it always been this crazy? I… I don’t recall it acting strangely until I was five but… My memory’s bit hazy on some things and, well…” He shrugged a bit while trying to put the pieces together.
Wars sighed heavily and shook his head. “No…” He half whispered before taking a deep breath. “Your body temp was normal until you were five. I don’t know what those bastards did to you but after that, for two years, it was going quite crazy. You had both hypothermia and overheating twice. It was crazy. I had to keep you warm during heat wave while everyone else was doing their best to cool down. Not to mention that you slept in a bathtub filled with cold water with me adding in ice cubes during winter while everyone else was trying to get warm. Your body just didn’t stop decreasing during summer nor did it stop increasing during winter. Spring and autumn were only times you had normal body temperature.” He explained sorrowfully.
“I don’t recall the other kids calling me on names because of it.” Time half whispered while frowning.
“They understood.” Wars replied with a small smile. “I let them know it was because of the keepers of the place. They knew it was one of the payments for you to keep them safe and out of their hands.” He sighed heavily while feeling bit like crying. “You were just a kid and still you were ready to go through hell just to keep everyone else safe.” He snorted softly and shook his head. “You really haven’t changed from that.”
The one eyed male gave a small smile with bit of a blush and shrugged. “What can I say? You’re one hell of a role model.” He countered fondly and slightly grinned as his older brother blushed a bit. “Anyway, about the bed…” He continued and turned his notion to the thing.
“So, I know most of you will gladly get underneath the blanket when you come over. Now it’s just bigger one. Though, I’m sorry for this but, this time I’ll be sleeping over that big one. On that way, even though everyone can get close to me, the hold won’t be as restraining as before. The smaller blanket’s mine only so it’ll be easier to take off. On this way, if it gets too hot, I can get the blanket off and cool down.” The ranch’s owner explained as calmly as he could while not being too happy of the slight obstacle between him and his boys.
“You think it’ll actually work?” Wars inquired while feeling uncertain of the idea. He understood the way it should work but he fully doubted it to go right in the end.
“Why not try straight off tonight?” Time countered with a grin.
“NO.” The oldest male of the ranch stated out firmly. “You’re still recovering. I am not—“ He started before trailing off as his little brother gave him his best puppy-dog-eyes. “Sprite…” He started bit uncertainly but that only brought out a miserable whine and slump from the one eyed male. Wars whined loudly while facepalming. “You still can’t whimper, huh?” He half mumbled.
The ranch’s owner bit flinched, sighed heavily and slumped for real. “I’m trying but…” He shrugged sorrowfully. “It’s stuck hard.”
Wars sighed heavily and nodded. “Alright. Alright, I’ll accept BUT with one condition.” He yielded before already giving a stern look to Time. “I stay up the whole night and keep check on the situation.”
“Wha… NO!” The one eyed male exclaimed roughly. “You need the sleep too!”
“I either guard your door and keep everyone from coming over OR you accept me staying awake and guarding.” The ex-Captain stated out firmly. He grinned slightly when Time sighed exaggerated.
“Fine.” The ranch’s keeper huffed and rolled his eye. “Yet, you’ll sleep at the morning. And I’ll guard you at then.” He countered with a wide grin.
“Fine by me.” Wars replied and matched the grin. “Been missing you acting like a weight blanket.”
Time blushed with a start before chuckling a bit nervously. “I’m not that kid anymore, you know.” He reminded while smiling bit shyly. “Gained height and weight.”
Wars snorted and shook his head. “Seriously, little brother, you’re way too skinny for my liking.”
The one eyed male blushed. “I’m just lithe!” He exclaimed and huffed in fake annoyance as his brother laughed.
“Honestly, you need to actually gain weight, Sprite.” The older male countered.
“Oh for that I’m going to squish you tomorrow morning! I’ll show you I weight just enough.” Time promised boldly and Wars just chuckled while grinning. The younger male just huffed and turned his gaze off. Yet, when he heard and saw from the corner of his eye his older brother moving towards him, he turned back to face him.
The ex-Captain smiled fondly and hugged Time tightly. “You’re just perfect the way you are, Sprite.” He whispered fondly and felt the one eyed male relax in his arms. He kissed the side of his brother’s head before pulling off.
Wild had been more than ready to increase the meal portions of his caretaker’s but he scratched that idea when it turned out to have been just bit of teasing around between Time and Wars. Yet, he was happy of listening the duo banter off like that since it brought out much calmer and happier side of the one eyed male. Plus, it very much let the ranch’s owner to give out stuff from his past much more freely than before.
At that night the eight males did pile on Time. His body temperature still warmed up the bigger blanket from close by and with all there, the combined body warmth did increase the heat nicely. Yet, as they had awaited, the one eyed male did get too hot during the night. “You gonna help me?” He inquired when he woke up while sweating.
“Only if you’re unable to do what you claimed to be capable of.” Wars countered while actually wanting to already pull the blanket off. Yet, his little brother just nodded, apologized to his boys while promising to give his arms back to be hugged and worked the blanket off. The one eyed male folded it few times before using it as an extra pillow.
“See? All’s fine.” Time told almost smugly while worming his arms back into the hold of Legend, Hyrule, Twilight and Wild. Wars calmed down and simply nodded.
“Just sleep, little brother. I’ll guard you.” The older male whispered and the ranch’s owner nodded before yawning. Wars smiled fondly and kept close check on the situation but with the blanket off, the sweating had stopped and things were just fine. Time slept peacefully through the night without further incidents.
At the next morning the seven boys went to handle the ranch work while making sure Time and Wars stayed at the bed. “Thank you, boys! You are such sweethearts!” The one eyed male fondly called after them and the youngsters just nodded with a slight blush. “Now…” He continued with mischievous grin while turning towards Wars. “Your turn!” He half shouted before already pushing the older male down and pulling his own blanket over him. After that he just laid over his brother as fully as possible.
Wars gave out a startled yelp at the push before gasping at the blanket being brought over him. He chuckled a bit when Time fully pinned him down to the bed. Yet, he smiled fondly and wrapped his arms around the taller male. This was exactly what he had been missing for long while. His little brother in his arms safe and sound. “Love you, Sprite. I will always protect you as long as I’m capable of in any way possible.” He whispered fondly while meaning each and every word.
“Love you too, big brother.” Time replied quietly before tad grinning. “Now hush and sleep.”
Wars chuckled and kissed the side of his little brother’s nose. He grinned at the slight start of the younger male. Yet, after that he closed his eyes while calming down and smiling fondly. Time calmed down too and relaxed with his older brother. He didn’t mean it to happen but he ended up taking a nap too while Wars slept beneath him. They both felt as safe and secure as back in the orphanage whenever they had a chance to sleep like this. Guarding one another and making sure each other was safe and sound with them. They were once again at home with family.

Favorite things about TotK so far
The Yiga Clan continuing to be Team Rocket style villains. They've turned it up to 11 now and are impersonating talking cuccos and pretending to have a 'regal friend who definitely needs blonde men to go ridiculously out of their way to help her'. They are trying so hard to catch Link like a Pikachu and are entirely incompetent at it.
Link being the in-universe version of Tony Hawk. People who know him recognize him but everyone else is just like 'hey, you're named Link and kinda match the description of a famous swordsman by that name, isn't that a funny coincidence?' and Link seems to be going 'yeah, weird, happens all the time'. Which he probably appreciates since he doesn't seem the type to enjoy fame.
My horsies from Breath of the Wild are available for me to check out of the stables like an inter-library lone.
Building stuff with both the fuse and the ultrahand abilities. I can make ridiculous weapons and bizarre contraptions. But I really need a bigger battery capacity for some of my vehicle plans. (I'll get there)
The reintroduction of the Sages. I've only scratched the surface of that, but it does seem that the Sages are back in some capacity and possibly calling out to their successors.
The Fire Temple. It's in the depths, the creepy new underground opened up for the exploration, and it's got several levels to cover. It's a mine cart maze and I'm enjoying figuring it. I've got 3 of 5 gongs rung and need to make more depths specific recovery items before I head back down to finish it up. It's still not as complicated as pre-BotW dungeons, but it does capture the feel of a Zelda dungeon better than the BotW's fire dungeon so I'm pretty pleased.
Speaking of the depths, they are creepy in a fun and fascinating way. I've already found the Fire Temple and the remains of the old Eldin mines (and a bunch of statues). What else is hiding in the dark? Cannot wait to find out
Those guys hanging out at the goron region's stable who most likely misheard Zelda say 'independence' as 'in underpants' and are now running around in their underwear. They're hilarious.
The caretaker robots who have developed fun personalities in the thousands of years they've been active and alone. Some are helpful, others snooty, some sarcastic...
Purah continuing to be a complete nerd. My aro headcanons for her abound. She's cannibalized the Shiekah tech into her Purah towers, Purah Pads, and various other tech. While, yeah, it bugs me that we're not seeing the remains of the old shrines and towers from BotW, it makes sense that the only remaining tech that's important is what Purah (and Robbie) have reinvented so that's all we see of it. And the towers Purah made are clearly made up of relocated towers from BotW, so there is that. (and having the old shrines hanging around with all the new shrines might've gotten confusing, I suppose...)
The new item system that allows for attaching things to arrows or throwing them in place of weapons. Was it easier to just pick an arrow type in BotW? Well... yes. But it's so much more fun to attach stuff to arrows and shoot them.
My new journalist Rito friend who watches Link fight the Yiga and knows Link is searching for Zelda, but still lands firmly in the 'could not identify Tony Hawk on site' crowd.
The Great Fairies + Malanya have moved locations and are now demanding things other than money to open up their giant flower buds and help. The world has gotten scarier, money alone ain't gonna cut it compared to food and music.

RANDOM OC ASK!
What is a fact about each of your OCs you wish to share with me? :D
Gonna give some context for each of them since they're ttrpg ocs...
Cerra is a sheikah who has been raised from birth to be a historian and to find the Shadow Temple and die inside of it to be its new caretaker. She has done this and destroyed it, and her new quest is to free her people from Hylia's yoke while also defeating Ganondorf. Her side quest is to free Zelda from having to be Hylia's incarnation. Possibly by romancing the queen.
She has a sincere belief in there being a giant king cucco who exists to smite children who are mean to cuccos, just like her grandmother told her. Her meeting minish, which people teased her about believing in before, has only furthered this belief. She also believes that if you kill 100 stalfos before the moon rises you can face the stalfos king in combat.
Abhaya is a huli jing god who lives in the Celestial Bureaucracy. She was formerly an assassin for an underground part of the government called the Office Fates. Upon being caught, her officials threw her under the bus to save their skins. She's now out on parole and is working with a revolutionary group because she at least wants to make as much trouble as possible before she burns in Avici.
She has made it her life's goal in particular to at least spit on Guanyin's face. However, she thinks Guanyin is hot. This further annoys her as she hates Guanyin's stupid face so much. Especially because she's right when it comes to the Dharma. The Jade Emperss sucks so much but damn she's hot and the bitch probably wouldn't even be upset because she's beyond such things.
Reiko is a newer addition. She's a kitsune who is working as a dimension jumping adventurer right now. In the immediate past she was the driver for a rich man's daughter until he found out that not only was the nice human driving his daughter places sleeping with said daughter but also she wasn't even a human. She is also a witch, a fortune teller, and a former member of a traveling circus. Reiko's done a lot of odd jobs.
She wants another tail and with it another form. Her true desire for said other form is so she can be a teeny, tiny normal fox. She will tell you this is so can get into mischief easier and, to an extent, this is true. However, her deepest and most sincere wish with the four legged form is she wants to curl up into a tight little ball places and just nap. She envies her four legged brethren because they always look so comfortable...
Aya is a seemingly human ronin who wanders seemingly after having disgraced her lord and being unwilling to die. She is actually inhuman and monstrous and is on a quest to kill all monsters in the world, including her own family. What exactly the monstrosity regarding her is depends on the setting she is from. Whenever possible, she is given antlers in her true form. She isn't much for words and is deathly serious. Her internal world is to the tune of Crawling by Linkin Park.
Despite her cool exterior, she jumps in fear and confusion when her antlers finally fall off. As the sound and sudden shift in weight concerns her. Deer may be elegant but they're still deer, after all.
Saoirse is a wandering seer and poet. Why she is wandering and what she is exactly depends on the exact setting she is from. She is typically an elf and she is concerned with freedom above all else. Her people, whatever they are, have a complicated series of traditions relating to wind chimes. One of her divination methods is, indeed, wind chime based. She is bratty and flippant and has seemingly boundless optimism, insisting that she can find a way out of any situation.
Despite her seemingly never ending optimism, Saoirse is actually incredibly cynical and pessimistic. Being a seer her whole life and having her world view shaped around her religious beliefs concerning said job has left her with the troubling notion that nothing she does actually matters and that all is set in stone. That any action she makes against this is, also, just another thing she can divine.

There is a group of cuccos gathered all together. As Kuri passes, Linkle's arm and hand pop out to wave. "Hey there! Don't mind me! The cuccos like to be close when I come back from travelling."
Kuri simply giggles and watches as the feathery friends move by with theirbrather cute caretaker
"Must mean they love you a great deal."

Hi, when you're not so busy, would you mind writing some headcanons for how Sidon, Revali, and Link (you don't need to do all of them if you don't want to) would act with a sickly s/o? Love your work and here's hoping everything's alright on your end!
Lol I’m good anon, I just caught a bad case of fangirlism for Dragon Age:Origins and a certain warden character. I appreciate the thought though :)
Revali:
Ew, get away.
Don’t get him wrong, he loves you dearly
But as champion, he has to stay in top condition
He can’t afford to catch whatever it is you have.
(Also he’s super germaphobic)
However, if you’re in a really bad state, he’ll step up as personal caretaker
...Sort’ve
You’ll always have an abundance of health elixirs and freshly made stew by your bedside table.
If there’s anything you want, he will just happen to “find it laying around somewhere” on that same day
(Revali, you’re already dating. Why are you being a fucking tsudere!?)
Is the perfect cure for boredom
If you’re too sick to open your eyes, He’ll break out a book and start reading it out loud for you
Contrary to popular belief, Revali’s voice could charm a Hinox
The sarcastic comments, insults and complaining just ruin the effect
The other 5% of the time though, he sounds like a dream
All in all, he’s acting pretty sweet
...Although the fact that he’s using a pair of tongs to hand you stuff kind of dampens the mood
Sidon:
He is the total opposite of Revali
It takes two guards to pry him away from your bedside
“Your Highness please, you have a meeting with-”
“That will have to wait. For now, I refuse to leave my beloveds side while their health’s at risk.”
“But sir-”
Sidon tone will suddenly hardens.
“This is an official order as Prince of Zoras domain. You will stand down and provide no further arguments on the matter, understood?”
Oh shit, Sidon never pulls the authority card
That’s how you know he’s being serious
The guard however, looks more exasperated than anything
“Sir, it’s a cold, not a blight.”
Lying on the bed, you blow your nose as you nod in agreement with the guard
The moment you started sneezing, Sidon immediately put you on bedrest
Honestly, you didn’t feel that bad aside from the cough and stuffed sinuses
A day or two of rest, and you’d be fine
You’ll have to reprimand him to get his (very hot) fish butt in gear
No one’s ever seen Sidon finish his duties so quickly
He’ll return to your bedside as soon as he’s done for the day
He curls his large form around you and nuzzles into your shoulder
You could almost swear he’s purring
(Not only did you get a loving boyfriend, apparently that also meant adopting a pet puppy shark)
(I’m sorry, but I must...)
(PUPPY SHARK DO-DO-DO-DO-DO-DO-)
Link:
Sorry, your boyfriend isn’ available at the moment
There’s only mommy Link now
Out of the three, Link is hands down the best caretaker
Like Sidon he’ll dote on you, but he’ll react more sensibly to the situation like Revali
Which means, unlike Sidon, he won’t act like you’re at deaths door after catching the cucco pox
He’s high-key a provider
Anything you need, he has at the ready
There’s also the added bonus with his cooking
Dude can make anything mouth-watering without having it churn your stomache
However, he’ll be strict if he needs to be
(Like, he WILL tape oven mitts over your hands if you don’t stop scratching)
Overall though, he means well
Links not much of a talker, so he probably won’t read to you like Revali
Once you’re asleep however, he carefully climbs into the bed and lays down beside you
The entire time, he quietly hums a lullaby in your ear
He vaguely recalls his mother singing it to him as a child
The memory brings a warm smile to his face as he softly continues his mothers song
...She would’ve liked you

The corrupted Starchild harasses the cuccos and misdirects their anger towards Linkle.
Linkle puts her fingers to her lips and lets out a loud whistle. She then points at the prankster. The Cuccos turn their soulless beady eyes at her instead. You challenged a caretaker of the scariest things in Hyrule. You best start running.

A Lesson with Father Time
Time has played the role of caretaker, guardian, father figure, leader and more when traveling with the others. Here you will read how he mentors a certain Hero of Wind in the act of horseback riding and how the others help Malon break a certain piece of news to the beloved hero of Time.
Oh Father Time
Will you please
Turn back your hands
To grant me release
Sleep could be so full of relief and so full of emotion, the heroes who bore the triforce of courage learned there was no in between. Dreams were akin to nightmares and nightmares meant waking up shaking and wide eyed. To fade into sleep and wake to morning without dreams interfering were something the heroes were grateful for.
But should anyone go through a sleepless night, they were never truly alone. Like the moon calling the stars in the dark of night, the bearers of courage seemed to have a set of unspoken rules when it came to keeping awake at nighttime. At times it was like a chain reaction, the one keeping watch would be joined by whoever couldn’t sleep. An hour or two later, perhaps another hero would join.
“Can’t sleep?”
Time would be there, perhaps it was due to his fatherly nature towards their group but the others knew. The more adventures one had, the more dreams for Hylia to choose from. However, no matter how stormy his face was when he awoke, it would always always turn into an expression of one ready to listen and give advice if it were needed.
Moments, seconds, minutes and hours
Your arsenal has such objects of power
On your shoulders sits two beings
The handmaidens that do your bidding
They had all shared stories, stories of familiar people, stories of familiar objects. It all came out by the light of a crackling fire or some air of needed entertainment, there was no in between. With every magical object each hero had, there seemed to be an abundance of tales to go along with it.
They all would laugh as Wild would recount the tale of how he had a Lynel frozen in stasis just so he could pose for a photo with it’s Sword in mid swing. But when he reached the part of ‘flying down the hill’ at the attack it gave when the stasis wore off, there would be nervous smiling and head shaking at his antics. Wild’s Slate had a number of photos in it, and one mystery that boggles them all is a photo of their eldest holding one of his masks with a fond look. No one knows how this photo was taken and there have been several theories which included a dead Yiga’s soul, a token from Malon and the real age of the oldest hero.
Late and early
Different yet same
Showing truth and reality
Just in different ways
They were all so different and similar at the same time. Of course, aside from the Triforce of Courage and saving Hyrule, some were more similar in their own ways. There was Wild and Hyrule with their sense of adventure, Legend and Four with their familiarity for crafted objects. But once during a trip to Lon Lon Ranch, Malon found another similarity between the incarnations of her husband.
The ranch was so quiet, one wouldn’t think there were so many guests staying over but it was early morning and on a farm, it meant being the first to greet the sun and the last it said goodbye to. Her Link, or Time as the others had called him, woke when she woke, as both were used to the early schedule but she was surprised when her husband came back with a Cucco tucked under one arm after they finished breakfast.
“What do you plan on doing with Polly?” Malon eyed her husband suspiciously. Her husband only made a shushing gesture with his hands before heading off to the other rooms. Malon sighed at his antics with an affectionate smile and she was there before he opened the door to the first room.
“Go easy on them.” She kissed him on the cheek before heading down the hallway and out of the house to begin her chores. “I’d like to see all nine of you for lunch later with all your limbs and wits attached.”
“No promises!” Time called out to his wife’s retreating figure and Malon would still remember the screaming and laughter she heard when she was milking the cows. She chuckled as she watched the milk collect in the bucket, she didn’t need a Goddess to know it was her husband and Polly’s doing.
A second too late
A moment too early
All that I have witnessed
Remain in me permanently
They were all hounded by nightmares, Sky of not being there for his Zelda, Wild for leaving his Hyrule to the state it was, but it was Time who had told them over the fire or in the dim light of whatever inn they were staying in that what had happened happened. It made them who they were today, Time told Wild his title could’ve been different had he not gone through the sleep, sublty hinting at the fact that perhaps he wouldn’t have met them too had he not gone through with it.
They had a tendency to ask the strangest questions as well as a form of entertainment. The favorite was ‘weirdest thing you ever ate’ (Wild always beat them in that one) ‘strangest thing you ever saw’ (no one actually won but it certainly was interesting to hear what everyone had done).
But Late and Early
Spread your teachings
Of discipline and mercy
To those most in need of it
They had all learned, in their own ways, about loss. Sky had dreams where his Zelda was still in deep slumber or how he had been too late to save her ar first. But Loss was a teacher like none other, yet as they all opened up one by one, Time couldn’t help but wonder.
If that loss was too much sometimes.
It was unfair for Wind to have his sister taken away, unfair to Wild to wipe everything he had known. But Time with all his years, all his adventures, knew that saying ‘Things will be better’ would not help. All one could do in their position was keep a brave face for those who depended on them, while moving forward to whatever problem they faced.
But you Father Time
Teach the most important lesson of all
You put on your running shoes
And challenge us to a race
Malon had seen how her husband had changed with the other heroes around. She was happy for him, it wasn’t always easy to explain the dark circles under his eyes or the nights where she awoke to him trembling under a nightmare. But now he had others who were like him, who could relate to his actions and his past.
While she may had been his wife and a constant presence throughout his journey, Malon knew that the boys could relate to her husband in a way she couldn’t.
But what really touched her heart was the way he interacted with them.
She saw him help Wind pick a horse to his liking because the youngest expressed an interest in riding, something he had rarely done back home. She saw how her husband drew the others in, how he had called Twilight and Wild over when Wind was having trouble with calming the horse down.
“Try again, Wind,” said Time. “You have to remember that on horseback, you’re not just a rider, you’re a partner.”
Wind had tried and failed to go over the obstacle course in Lon Lon Ranch. He had refused to give in again and again, and each time Time would smile and nod. Malon’s lips would unknowingly curve upwards when she saw the streak of stubbornness that lived in each hero.
You know you’ll win
Not all the time
But when you do
Boy does it hit us hard!
Wind saddled up once more, Time had told him that speed wasn’t an essential for new riders but confidence and a willingness to trust in your horse was where everyone started, a stepping stone that he would always need to keep a toe on.
So he held the reins, and calmly uttered words of encouragement to his horse before digging his heels into the horse’s sides. The horse reared its hind legs and took off for the obstacle course.
They cheered each time Wind cleared an obstacle, a pile of hay bales or an assortment of poles. Time said nothing but nodded with every cleared jump. In the midst of it all, no one saw the Hero of Warriors and the Hero of Twilight disappear with Malon.
Some feel ashamed
After we lose
Some react in anger
Slapping the hand you offer
When the last obstacle came close, right as Wind and his horse were about to jump, no one expected the loud crash that sounded throughout the ranch. Least of all, Wind’s horse.
Skidding to a halt, the grey mare reared its legs with a whinny before halting. Wind tightened his grip on the reins as they spun and when the sound finally subsided, his horse was rooted to the spot.
Wind had clung on in fear of falling. It was a blur on the saddle, he heard yelling but not the words. He saw the other heroes start to rush off before pausing to look at him.
“Wind, will you be alright?” Time asked worriedly and Wind felt his thoughts return to him. of course he would be fine, he was still in one piece. Wind saw the conflict in Time’s face, to rush to his wife in an uncertain situation or him, a student he had taken up. That thought knocked his stupor out of him.
With a now clear head, Wind nodded at the oldest hero. “Go to her, I’ll be fine.”
Time turned to leave but paused before going back to him. “Malon and I usually do Epona’s song to keep our horses relaxed but nothing calms a horse more than knowing it’s safe.”
With his piece of advice given, Time ran off to join the others and left the youngest hero. Wind watched him run off and took one of his feet from the stirrups, readying himself to dismount the horse but Time’s last words echoed.
‘Nothing calms a horse more than knowing it’s safe.’
Wind’s expression shifted and he cursed at himself. How had he not noticed it? His mare had been nervous and he hadn’t realised it. She was snorting, so softly that he hadn’t heard it until Time had pointed it out and her grey tail flicked about anxiously. Wind shifted in his saddle, feeling the faint tremors moving through her body. He was disappointed in himself when he hadn’t noticed his horse’s jittery behavior.
Wind placed his foot back in the stirrup, to leave his horse at a time of need would be to betray the trust they had placed in him. Breathing in, Wind slowly released a hand from the reins and reached out for the mare’s mane. He hummed the beginning notes of Epona’s song, a melody all the animals on Lon Lon ranch had heard and associated with home.
He heard the snorting slowly stop as he continued stroking her mane, when it finally halted, Wind switched to another tune. It was a song he knew well and he saw the horse’s ears flick to and fro as he hummed, listening to him sing a new melody.
As he did so, he carefully nudged his horse into a walk. He kept humming as they went for the paddock. Wind’s goal this time was not to clear the obstacle course but to show his steed the home they knew was safe. The paddock was mostly empty when they reached, a few cows grazing about and not paying them any mind. Wind glanced back and saw that his horse’s tail no longer flicked in anxiety before changing their pace into a trot.
But you laugh in all our faces Father Time
You embrace us all no matter our emotion
And we all break down in the arms of your lesson
It went on like that, Wind riding the gray mare to places familiar to them around the farm. They even stopped by where the others were gathered and Wind was relieved to see that none of them had too serious faces. Wild noticed him first and broke away from them to greet Wind.
“Is Malon alright?” Wind asked as he slowed his horse near them.
Wild nodded. “She’ll be fine, she threw up all of a sudden and accidentally caused the ladder to fall on the barrels.”
Wind surveyed the collapsed bits of wood and the ladder that was now propped against the chicken coop, Four and Hyrule were armed with brooms cleaning up the mess and heard Sky inside the coop, probably trying to calm down the cuccos from the sudden noise.
“Where are Legend and the Captain?” Wind inquired after the missing heroes.
“Last I heard, Twilight and Legend were taking Malon to the doctor. Warriors said he’d hold down the fort while-” Wild paused. “While Time went to check up on you.”
“On me?”
“On your progress I believe,” said Wild before fumbling with his pockets and bringing out an apple. “You might want to go back before he starts to think your horse panicked and did Hylia knows what.”
Wind stiffened at that before pocketing the apple Wild gave him. “I guess you’re right, I’ll get going then.’”
Wild watched him direct his horse before speaking,”The old man would be proud that you managed to calm her down.”
But Wind was already off, cantering back to the obstacle course.
So tell us Father Time
The ones who are thankful
How must we reward you?
And you shake your head
Your smile peaceful
Wild was right, Time was waiting for him back at the obstacle course. The older hero smiled as he took them in. “I see you managed to calm her down,” said Time.
“I thought about what you said,” Wind replied. “About letting your mount know its safe and that this is home, so we went on a ride.”
“To remind her she was safe here,” Time finished and Wind nodded.
“I’m glad you found your own way of calming her down and that you prioritised her needs before your own,” said Time. “You didn’t take her on the track immediately, did you?”
Wind shook his head. “I can learn the obstacle course another day, we’ll come back here again won’t we?”
Time felt his smile widen at what Wind implied. “Yes, we most definitely will. Even if it’s just for another visit or another lesson, everyone is welcome here.”
Time began walking away and Wind, confused, called out to him. “Wait, where are you going?’
Time looked over his shoulder. “To the stables, I’ll show you how to brush her after we put her in.
The only gift I want
Is for you to remember
My hands only move forward
Never Backward
When Wind and Time returned to the main house, they did not expect the spread of food waiting for them or the festive atmosphere. “We have a right to celebrate!” exclaimed Warriors. “Especially after Wind’s success!”
“All I did was calm her down,” the youngest tried to wave him off.
“But you’re still in one piece and you didn’t get thrown off!”
“Hey! I wasn’t that bad!”
“But you’re certainly better now,” said Four who pulled up a chair for him to sit.
Wind pouted as he plopped in his chair, igniting laughter from the rest of them. Wild, Sky and Warriors took it upon themselves to serve the meals shushing Malon and Time every time they both stood up to help.
“We’re not just celebrating Wind’s lesson, we’re celebrating you and Malon too!” chirped Sky as he handed out portions to everyone.
Your release will come
Only if you look front
Your smile never fades
As you say our fate
“It’s not our birthdays,” said Time uncertainly. “Nor is it our anniversary.”
“We don’t merely celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, we celebrate other things too,” said Hyrule with a wink.
“What are you all up to?” Time asked, suspicion evident in his tone. “Malon?”
Four cleared his throat. “Actually, we have gifts for you and Malon.”
Time’s eyebrows rose and the rest of them shared a knowing smile. “In fact, I think we should bring them out right now.”
Time was not prepared for the set of small eating utensils that popped out of Four’s bag, or the piece of cloth that emerged from Sky’s, but his eyes definitely widened at the small stuffed seagull Four brought out. As the gifts were placed on the table one by one, Time found himself more and more confused.
Your lessons never end
Do they Father Time?
And you laughed in my face
“You carry a stuffed seagull with you?” were the first words he said when they surrounded him with grins, chairs abandoned. Legend scoffed, “Of all things, that’s what you say first?”
“I don’t wanna hear that from someone who carried a rabbit’s headgear in his pack,” huffed Wind. “It was my sister’s, Legend helped me patch it up so it could be of use again.”
“Again?” Time echoed and the others motioned Malon forward.
“C’mon Malon, it’s time for your gift.” said Hyrule with a face splitting grin.
Malon came forward to her husband, a glowing smile on her face but her hands were empty. “Love?’ Time whispered as her hands gently cupped his face.
“Today, we celebrate something else, Link.”
“What-” Malon brought her husband’s head to stomach.
“Apparently, they didn’t agree with my breakfast this morning.”
Warm was your embrace
As I broke down
But gone were my worries
My doubts you had freed
It was so odd to see their usual leader like this, in the arms of his wife, with an expression of happiness and bliss. “How long are you? When did you know?” Time was oblivious to everything and everyone except his wife and the piece of knowledge that foretold another figure in their growing family.
“This afternoon, actually, the boys had planned on surprising you with something else but when we found out well...” Malon trailed off with a chuckle. “We thought we’d combine both surprises.”
“Both? I don’t know if I can handle another surprise.” Time chuckled before kissing Malon and didn’t see the others motion something over.
When the two broke, Time let out a laugh at what they had brought over. A cake that looked like it had seen war in a kitchen with crudely drawn stick figures and a lopsided triforce sat on the table.
“You’re not the only mentor who’s been teaching us,” said Twilight.
“That’s right! Thanks to Malon, we’ve prepared a feast for you,” exclaimed Sky.
Time took in the dinner spread once more and wondered how he had missed the oddly cut vegetables or the soup he had never seen his wife serve. “You taught them how to cook? I must say, my dear, you’re braver than any hero if you tried to teach them the art of the kitchen.”
“They learned for you,” said Wild as he took his seat again. “For everything you’ve done for us.”
“We’re confident in the taste,” said Hyrule. “But if you do get sick then that means you’ll have a day of rest from the farm.”
Time laughed at the words before sighing. “What are we waiting for then? The food looks good enough to eat.”
They put their gifts away and returned to their chairs, for tonight they were not heroes or people from different worlds and timelines. They were students and teachers, a family of a sorts enjoying the new arrival that would come in the near future and basking in the afterglow of everything that had happened. The Hero of Time did not know where the roads of Fate would bring them all. But as he took in their faces, the smiles of his family, he knew. He would teach them and guide them to whatever life they chose.

Didymos Astor
Do I like them?
Unfortunately, yes 😔🐀💕
5 Good Qualities
Purple emo bastard aesthetic is on point
He’s a master gomoku player in hku which i personally just vibe with immensely
His dynamic with anyone is just top notch. Literally no matter who he is with he is just a tired old man. Siv? Yiga Husbands? Zavis? Link? He’s just tired of everyone’s shit and I respect him for it
In my opinion better than Nintendo canon Astor, especially story wise because he’s an arrogant little bastard man who’s just given up on life and settling for trying to save just one person and I think that’s pretty cash money
disgruntled bastard who doesn’t want to be a father figure/caretaker but ends up giving in and becoming one anyway trope my beloved
3 Bad Qualities
can we not bring about the destruction of the kingdom please, like I know it’s inevitable and you’re convinced that no matter your actions the outcome will be the same regardless but please
Astor: At least I had some people who cared about me! Ganon: But what if they didn’t Astor: oh... :(
Me, banging pot lids together and screaming into the void: IDIOT. DUMBASS. REALLY??? REALLY??? YOU FELL FOR THAT SHIT??!? YOU SMARTER THAN THAT YOU FUCKING DUMB IDIOT I HATE YOU
He’s such a bitch. He’s be like “You’re all fools, your defeat is already predestined,” like shut the fuck up, it’s true, but shut up about it
Favourite Episode/Arc: I forgot the arc name but his conversation with Zelda in Serenity’s Fortunes my beloved
OTP: I see him as aro, so it would be a QPR with Elane because I love them
BROTP: Astor just vibing with his bros while they pour vinegar on Ligero’s house UwU That’s the dream
OT3: QPR astor x elane x alive-and-not-cuccoed
NOTP: If you ship anyone with him romantically I respect your opinion but you’re also wrong
Best Quote: I’m paraphrasing here but it’s, “A coward? Well perhaps I am, but at the end of the day, when the heroes have died, I’ll be the one living to tell the tale. So shut up now and make me a good story.”
Headcanon: Sheikah tech has a lot of star themes so Astor helped young zelda map out what all the Sheikah constellations meant while she hung out in his office

some doodles i did for my loz story (thats in the works, everything is planned i just gotta sit down and write. Below the cut is some of my jabbering on about them, spoilers if i ever write the fic. well not really spoilers but more background stuff and me talking bout the story in general. Not that important i just wanted it all somewhere.
Second pic is older! Mist fairies are actually fog fairies, specific to the foglands. They are savage to all those without a magic signature similar to foglanders and have teleportation abilities when in large groups. That is all i will say. Soruspiris are containers for souls. regular fairy looks fluffy and i don't know why... Zelda's doodle was just here because i wanted to draw her. She's a fallen angel I guess. IDK Link actually can hide a lot of spiris on him as well, especially in his hat. Alright, Iarta is the spirit of the Soul's Bane Blade (or Soul Stealer), or Link's main weapon. She has acted as a sort of caretaker and teacher besides Link's grandmother, who often travelled herself. Honestly I just wanted to draw Iarta and baby Link. This is in no means her final design. I've been struggling with what she looks like (and the other sword spirits for that matter), most of them look similar, specifically her, the Statue's End, and the Twin Blades. I thought she'd have a few different forms as she does mainly fight for Link in a physical sense but IDK. As for the embroidery on the cloak and sash, Link does hand embroidery, specifically small runes to add minimal enchantment to clothing for protection and other such things. Verin's sash has ones for I think it was protection and good luck? Link's are mainly weather protection and elemental protection as well as to prevent fog fairies from ripping it to shreds. Ganon is making an appearance because of another drawing I was doing and was trying to remember what he looked like (spoiler I still didn't know and just pulled up a pic. he's the most inconsistent looking character I'm so sorry. I'm trying to figure it out along with Zelda who is basically consistently changing appearances in the story anyway). His scar on his face would technically be from before the story occurred, since he's a trained fighter more than anything. Also in an older pic, the first one i posted of him, I'd like to note that those swords (i see now that they are sickles, im so sorry) are not his main ones. Spoiler but they break. He's supposed to weild the twin blades, not those. That picture is a goddamned mess cause he has the goddess's scars (don't question the name its what my notes say) and swords that are broken at that point. As well, he wouldn't be in the gerudo desert? So yeah. A mess. Alright, Koddila! My favorite bird mom! She's here because I need practice drawing ritos. Yeah i stuck with the botw esque design concept cause they're my favorite overall though I deviated from the consistent fashion in which rito dress in that game (i sat in that village and fucking studied those clothes. no joke). She's notably a warrior though so she has the shoulder thingies. Verin, the zora father Link did not want, probably did not need, but still got, is honestly here because I have never drawn a zora before and will never try again. He's supposed to be scarred and battle worn, having lived a tired life or something. He just wants Link to stop doing stupid stuff and almost getting himself killed, weird foglander magic be damned. Sorry for rambling. The story's outline is being edited right now. Specifically, i've summarized every chapter im going to write and am adding and taking details right now. My friend told me i could've made it multiple books if i wanted to explore more of the world, but at that point I made the story on a time crunch and I'm sad I did so. Souls of Power was originally designed as if I were concepting and creating a world for a video game, a map and everything. Hell, I'd even jokingly written out whistle mechanics for calling Spiris and directing them. The world has so much more in it that I'd be writing, from hidden places to cucco racing to the entirety of the damned foglands that Link barely explores. I'm trying to add more of the world into it, but we'll see what I can. I just know that Link's arc got really... well sad. I had to make it different because Link's ending wouldn't be that good at all. So when I publish it, just know Link wasn’t going to have a fun time, but he’s going to get a good ending
#rambling#legend of zelda#loz souls of power#doodles#honestly this is just me talking a bunch#Link couldve been a villian btw#or turned into one#it wouldve been way to sad#so i scrapped that#how hes just generally sad#and ganon is a bit less powerful cause that was an issue with him#both ganon and link that is#link is gonna have severe trust issues by the end of this#i can feel it#but also so many parents#no joke#verin basiclaly adopts him#and everyone knows it#koddila will fight for custody

linklewinklewoman:
“Tell that to Rogard!” In one arm she held the said cucco, using her free hand to have F pull herself up. Ah yes, Rogard had a bit of character. How did he get up the tree? No idea. Cuccos were weird like that. “I swear, you go to feed the others and he gets into all sorts of trouble.”
“A mischief maker, much like his caretaker.” She teased, looking down at the cucco before reaching over to dust off Linkle’s clothing with her bare hands, giving various parts of the green garb a pat down to bat away bits of dirt, grass, and bark. “Are either of you hurt?”
