˚。⋆ Patron Saints that help guide us through the year
₊⋆·˚ ⁀➴ ༉‧₊˚. ₊ ⊹ 𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✧˚ .
- St. Dymphna ; the Patron Saint of mental illness.
while it can hard for us to admit that we are struggling mentally on a serious level, we have all had moments of feeling very low. i personally have struggled, and so struggle with, anxiety, depression, anger issues etc. these have been serious issues for me and i learnt a prayer i will link - here - that has helped me know St. Dymphna. ˚࿐
- St. Vitus ; the Patron Saint of oversleeping.
we have all overslept once, if not maybe multiple times a week or month. for some, oversleeping is a rare misfortune, but for others, including me, oversleeping is a regular problem and has affected my life in a various of negative ways. here is a - link - to a prayer that i found. ˚࿐
- St. Phillip Neri ; the Patron Saint of joy (and friendship).
i dunno about all of you guys, but i have lost more friends then i have gained since leaving high school. this isn’t a bad thing as a lot of the people i spent time with weren’t very nice, but like most people, i am always wishing for more friends. friendship is so important, and i read up about St. Phillip Neri and learnt so much. he is also the Saint of Joy! here is a - prayer - ˚࿐
- St. Padre Pio ; the Patron Saint of stress relief (and adolescents).
we all get stressed, duh. stress can take a toll on so many aspects of our lives, including our health on a long-term scale. trying to reduce stress is ironically, quite a stressful process. i have found peace in a plenty of Bible verses that talk about being calm and trusting God. i have also found peace in Padre Pio, a Saint who i knew about long before God called me to Catholicism. i have him on a bracelet, haha. here is a - prayer - by St. Padre Pio i have found, and also a - prayer - TO Padre Pio. ˚࿐
- St. Expeditus ; the Patron Saint of procrastination.
if someone says they don’t procrastinate, i’m 99.9% sure they’re lying. you do it, i do it, we know it’s bad, but it can be so hard to fight sometimes. good thing we have St. Expeditus! here is a - prayer - that we should all recite daily. i wish you the best! ˚࿐
- St. Anthony ; the Patron Saint of lost things.
my keys, my glasses, my card, sometimes even whole outfits or pairs of shoes… how many times a week, even a day, do we lose things we own? i’m sure we all know about St. Anthony, most atheists know about him, but i often find myself forgetting that he is there for us. a - prayer - to the finder of those annoying lost items.
- St. Jude ; the Patron Saint of lost causes (and “impossible” circumstances).
we have all thought a situation we’ve been in is completely and totally helpless. we’re stuck, there’s no way out and this feeling might just be forever. despite how hard these moments are, however long or short they may last, they do always end. we end up feeling better. however, that’s not to say that that feeling of helplessness isn’t so hard to bare. i’ve been there, i understand. i only recently learnt about St. Jude, (prior to this, the only ‘jude’ i knew of was the Beatles song… forgive me…). thankfully, St. Jude represents hope for the hopeless and miracles for all of us facing those helpless circumstances. - prayers
₊⋆·˚ ⁀➴ ༉‧₊˚. ₊ ⊹ 𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✧˚ .
i hope this was somehow useful. God bless you. <3
౨ৎ
i also just make up my own prayers to Saints when needed. sometimes we don’t resonate with a prayer, and that’s okay. i often add to prayers or find myself reciting my own. i linked prayers for suggestions, not as some sort of strict guideline :)

Revisiting Wrap030 Disk Access
Tumblr media
I have more ideas for projects than time or budget to work on them. Already this year I've gone completely through the design process for two new large homebrew projects that are currently too large for my project budget, plus a few small ones I never got around to ordering. So rather than spend more than I should taking on a new project, I decided to revisit an existing one.
It's been over a year since I last worked on the original Wrap030 project — my old stack-of-boards MC68030 system. Its current configuration includes the main board with CPU, ROM, RAM, UART, & glue logic; a hand-wired breakout board to add a second UART; a custom video output board; and a mezzanine board with FPU and provision for an IDE disk that is not yet working. It has been functional in this configuration since last February.
My goal for this project from the beginning was to build something capable of running a proper operating system, like Unix System V or Linux. To do that though, I'm going to need to get disk access working.
I had started on disk access, but didn't quite have it functional when I turned my focus to integrating all of boards into the single Wrap030-ATX motherboard. I had added IDE cycles to the CPLD on the mezzanine board, and had added a few rough drafts of disk functions to my ROM. I set the project aside when I realized my function for checking dish presence was reporting a disk was present when there wasn't one.
I have worked with IDE before — my original 68000 project had an IDE port on it. I had gotten that project to the point where I could read a sector of data from the disk, but never could wrap my head around how to actually navigate even a simple file system like FAT16. It was this code that I had adapted for Wrap030, so when it didn't work, I assumed it was a problem with my logic.
Turns out I had just inadvertently clobbered a register in the disk check function. The logic worked just fine. I was able to write a couple quick BASIC programs to read a sector of data and even run code from the boot sector.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My assembly function for reading data from disk however was still not working.
I tried rewriting it.
I tried rewriting it in C instead of assembly.
I tried again, and again, and again. I added delays and loops and print statements and everything I could think of. I scoured datasheets, read though all the different release versions of the ATA specification, ported code from other projects, looked at every example of reading from an IDE disk I could find.
No matter what I did, I always got the same result.
Tumblr media
This did not make any sense. Reading from an IDE disk involves setting up the sector address, the number of sectors to transfer, sending a read command, and then reading the IDE data port 256 times per sector. Each time the data port is read, the disk will give another 16-bit word of data. But for some reason, all I was getting was the first word of data returned 256 times.
There is nothing in the specification to explain this.
I knew there was nothing wrong with my logic, because I could read the data just fine with my BASIC program or by manually poking the right addresses using the monitor. Maybe there was some edge case affecting timing when running in assembly, but even adding delay loops and print statements didn't have any effect.
I reached out for help. I got great feedback on my read functions and my timing and how IDE and CompactFlash cards worked, but still could not solve this problem.
But then @ZephyrZ80 noticed something —
Tumblr media
I had shared my code and was explaining that I had added some extra NOP instructions to enforce minimum time between IDE access cycles in PIO-0 mode. At 25MHz with cache enabled, the 68030 can complete an instruction in as little as 80ns, so a few NOPs would ensure enough time elapsed between cycles.
With cache enabled.
… cache enabled.
… cache.
The 68030 has 256 bytes of data cache. My disk read function is running in a tight loop that only really hits a few addresses; not nearly enough to invalidate and flush the entire 256 bytes of cache. The CPU does have a cache inhibit signal to use with peripherals that return new data on subsequent access to the same address, but it turns out I was only asserting it when accessing the UART on the main board.
It's a simple enough hypothesis to test. When I initially added support in my ROM for enabling cache at startup, I included user functions for enabling and disabling cache.
Tumblr media
… It was cache all along.
Now I need to add some way to inhibit cache while accessing the IDE port, and then I can move on to trying to use the disk for loading programs.

OH MY GOD A.DLSKFJA;LSDKFJ;ASLDKFJ;ALDSKFJ TYSM FOR REQUESTING NIJIEN >:D IM SO HAPPIIIIII. i did small hc's and scenario's... so i hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
pairing(s): Xsoleil (separately) X GN!Ghost!Reader platonic/romantic up to interpretation cw: N/A, not proofread desc: they all decide to go to an abandoned building to see if they find any ghosts. they do, but it just so happens to be you. you haunt them, but they have their own ways of reacting to it
Doppio:
pio-chan gives me the energy that he would try to play cards with you
Like magic tricks… idk, I can just see it
At first he kinda scream in your face but when he realizes what you’re true intentions are he tries to be chill
He would probably be trying to exorcise you in his head though
He thinks magic tricks are going to exorcise you… it’s ok, let him cook
Maybe it does in the end, and then halfway through finds himself kind of sad that he can’t show you his magic tricks anymore
Crossing his arms, Doppio felt himself grin as he switched the cards out from behind his back. You watched curiously, not seeing him switch the cards. Soon enough, he pulls out your card:
An ace.
“ Is this your card?!,” he says excitedly. You nod and clap your hands as he prides himself on his winnings (even though he cheated). You start to fade away before his very eyes. Doppio now stares at where you were kneeling across from him. He frowns as he feels a little empty inside, now that you’re gone, but at least the exorcism worked.
Hex:
tries to flirt with you
Thinks his rizz with exorcise you, but in reality it just makes you feel flustered, so you disappear so that he doesn’t have to see you embarrassed
I can see him not getting scared upon seeing you, and noticing that you were just haunting the school because you wanted to
Flirts you to death
“ Are you a ghost? Because you’re drop dead gorgeous,” he finger guns at you with a wink. You were flushed at his comment, replying by looking down nervously. You notice him eyeing you up and down,” Damn babe, you’ve got a killer body… and I’m here with a death wish.”
Soon enough you’re way too flustered to be staying there. As you felt heat reach to you face, like it never does, you fade away. However, not because he exorcised you, but because he made you feel embarrassed. Hex watched as you faded away and frowned,” Still had more pick-up lines, but ok.”
Kotoka:
she wants to get to know you
You’re so cool!
I can see her complimenting you
She would also embarrass you somehow into fading away, no she did not exercise you
She just probably showers you with compliments so much that you fade away
“ Woah! There’s a real ghost!,” she jumps up, running over to you. You back away, despite knowing that she actually can’t touch you. “ Here, let’s take a photo!,” Kotoka smiles, pulling out her phone and posing with you. You hold up two piece signs. The picture gets taken and she shows it to you, you nodded in approval.
“ You’re so cool! I really like your outfit,” she smiles,” Is that what you died in?” You nod in response. Before she can compliment you again, however, you wave at her as you fade away to run off somewhere else.
Meloco:
she’s the one who’s actually trying to exercise you
Though upon meeting first, she tries to throw a chair at you
Which fails because it goes right through you
After that, she starts screaming and begins exorcising you
She’s unsuccessful though because she keeps stuttering
“ Y-you who h-h-haunt this p-place in the name of the L-Lord!!!,” she says as she holds up a cross at you. You look at her curiously as she continues to chant. “ B-b-begone at once!,” Meloco waves the cross in the air exasperated. You raised a brow, looking at her confused.
“ Ah damnit!,” she gives up, throwing the cross at you. Well… through you.
Ver:
is genuinely curious to know where you came from
He’s pretty level-headed though
I can see him somehow making you cry by asking you about your past
So you fade away :(
But you knew he was just trying to be nice, so you left him a little note
“ So where did you come from, oh gosh?,” Ver looks at you curiously. Since you can’t speak, you shrug your shoulders. “ Did you die happy?” You nod. “ Do you miss the people you used to live with?” You nod. However, tears start to well up in your eyes. Before he can ask another question, you fade away.
However, where you stood, there’s a little note:
“ Thank you for being nice.”

S-100 Boards in progress: The S100computers 68000 CPU board, and ZFDC (Zilog Floppy Diskette Controller).
The 68k CPU board is pretty much a complete Motorola 68000-based system on a single board, along with hardware needed for it to operate in a multi-CPU arrangement. The S-100 standard allows for the presence of multiple CPU boards with wildly different architectures, but only one can be in control of the bus at a time. I had to trim off part of the voltage regulator heatsink to allow it to work with my card cage’s retention brackets.
The ZFDC is a very complex floppy disk drive controller. It pairs a dedicated 6MHz Zilog Z80B processor with a pair of Zilog PIO (Parallel Input/Output) and a Western Digital 2793 disk controller chip. The on-board CPU has access to 32k of onboard ROM and onboard RAM, making it a entire self-contained computer which operates independently of any other processor boards the user has installed.
It’s curious to note that the 6MHz Z80 on the ZFDC actually runs faster than my  machine’s main CPU board, the S100computers Z80 Master CPU, which runs at a standard 4MHz. Owing to a fairly simplistic design rooted in choices made while MITS was designing the Altair 8800, the S-100 bus does poorly with speeds significantly over that 4MHz. The ZFDC has onboard RAM/ROM and doesn’t really touch the bus aside from simple one-byte commands, however, which lets us use a higher speed part that can cope with high-demand operations like formatting double-density diskettes.

(tw: religious trauma incoming) I don't know how to say this but like
My dad told me I should die. That it's better to be dead than impure. That he loves me because I'm not like the other godless youth of my generation. I was a self-righteous little twerp. I used to really hate myself. To want to die. I thought about living a life sterile and devoid of the type of embodied love (and self-love and by that I mean masturbation but also transition) that I wanted, and I thought about throwing myself in front of a bus. I don't want that anymore. I want to live. I chose to live. He thinks that's worse.
My mom told that me the world was ending. She said a new age of obedience was about to begin. She loves to watch disaster movies, where lava flows and the seas rise. They gave me nightmares. My world is drowning in a plague right now. I don't believe that it's ever going to stop.
I used to dream about slitting my wrists open like the stigmata. My dad had a book about Padre Pio. I saw the stigmata on all his holy cards. That and the Divine Mercy card, a heart with blood and water pouring out. I wanted to pour myself out like that.
My parents didn't congratulate me on my engagement to my girlfriend. They didn't say anything. They haven't spoken to me since. My brother said he'll be fasting and praying for me. I don't want him to do that to himself. I'm always hungry. I love him. I wish he loved me.

In my experience, Indian diaspora tend to be more critical of the caste system. I’m not doubting you, but having lived in India, they definitely cared as much about my caste as they did about my American nationality. It was the first question I was asked after “Are you really American? You’re not blonde.” Admittedly, I’m not on Twitter, and I imagine it’s way worse on there, and I don’t think a lot of Indian American kids my age know the intricacies of the caste system.
I’m sorry they’re being so awful to you. You’re absolutely right to call for its abolition.
No I get you! It's just wild to me that the Indian diaspora cares about the caste system one way or another like you live in America and are an American citizen like I for one don't have any ties to India and don't even have a PIO (person of Indian origin) card so I can travel freely between India and the United States. I don't speak any other language except English and my white boyfriend can cook more Indian food than I can lol.
It's just weird because I am critical of the caste system in that I don't think it should exist! Judging people by the circumstances of their birth is just terrible, like I thought that's what we're MEANT to be advocating for, not doing that self-flagellation song-and-dance without actually taking material stances against the caste system.
But yeah, they're just SO annoying like they're melting down over the fact I'm not bending over backwards to prove I'm not an oppressor lol.

Father Dolindo Ruotolo
He promoted the “Surrender Novena” “O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, You take care of everything.”
Father Dolindo Ruotolo was an Italian Roman Catholic priest, miracle worker and prophet, who suffered the wounds of Christ. He was called the “mouthpiece of the Holy Spirit.” He was totally dedicated to Mary, Mother of God and the rosary. He was Padre Pio's spiritual director who called him a saint. His life was one of humiliation and inner pain. Our Lord gave him the “Surrender Novena” “O Jesus, I surrender myself to you, You take care of everything.” He offered himself as a victim soul for mankind and was afflicted with many sufferings, including complete paralysis for the last ten years of his life.

The new basilica was built on the Cardinal Giovanni by Cream in 1123. Cardinal Scipione Borghese enlarged and restored it in 1625 giving the appearance of which is at present. The parish was erected, according to a plaque close to the sacristy, in 1127, but it certainly dates from the first half of the century V: her priests are in fact among the subscribers of the Roman synods of 499 and 595. Pope Gregory III (731-741), as recounted in the "Liber pontificalis" we instituted a monastery that kept distinct from the "titulus", whose priests were involved in the care of souls. Cardinal John of Crema, as the two tombstones nearby the entrance to the sacristy, built there in 1128 a chapel with cloister (V. Fork, "Subscriptions", III, 169 nn. 486-487). Calisto II, April 17, 1121, and Innocent III, July 23, 1199, intervened to solve the problems of administration Parish Church of St. Savior of the Court in relation to those of S. Krševan. Innocent III replaced the monks with the Canons Regular of the Savior which you remained until 1480 when Pope Sixtus IV entrusted the parish to the Carmelites. Pius IX, June 1, 1847, settled in the basilica, the Trinitarians, who still administer it. The current state of architecture is due to the card. Scipione Caffarelli Borghese, nephew Paul V, who committed it to Giovanni Battista Soria (1581-1651).
