I have finished the colourwork for my greek pottery inspired cardigan! Next step is gentle blocking, then into steeking, and finally finishing of the edges and button band. The pattern is Greek Amphora Cardi and this is the same cardigan that the Roomba tried to eat back in the fall.

Bonus image of all my floats. I am very happy with how it has been turning out. Took ages to sew in all the ends on the sleeves. Very glad I decided on the second sleeve to leave the longer floats between motifs and save on ends to weave in.

Having made (or at least: begun) so many pullovers, I decided I'd try to make a cardigan.
I'm using Crochet/KnitPicks Upcycle Alpaca Sport again because it worked up so quickly last time. This is modified significantly from the original Done In Love pullover pattern by Katy Petersen.

I love when I see posts like "Share how many crochet WIPs you currently have! I have 5, it's so many!"
Like, girl, I have unfinished projects from over a decade ago that I refuse to frog on the off chance I decide to finish them. I've found years-old projects I forgot I even started and will impulsively just finish it on the spot. I've started three different projects in the last 2 months, including one I started yesterday, that I already know I may or may not finish within the year depending on motivation.
The number of WIPs I have is infinite.

Episodes 1-101 Mouri Ran's Wardrobe
So many doodle ideas for Detective Conan and yet what I actually end up doing is cataloging Ran's various outfits...
Still she has a lot of cute ones and it's interesting to see them all, I'll probably continue. That said there's a lot so they're all just sketches but feel free to use as references.

Thank you @that-disabled-princess for the tag! I'm zooming through my current cardigan. I was travelling for my little brother's wedding and I had a lot of time on my hands. This cardigan has reminded me of my deep loathing of purl stitches; I'm just so much slower with purling. Then I remembered that I first learned to knit left handed and I can swap between knitting right and left handed to achieve the same outcome as alternating rows of knit and purl. Bonus picture of my snuggly little man that missed me while I was out of town!

In between wedding events, I was able to sneak off to some yarn shops. The black yarn will become a cardigan and the other two will eventually become socks. I also couldn't resist the star stitch markers!

Another highlight of the trip was getting to meet @best--dress for coffee and pastries! It was so much fun to meet another fandom friend in real life!

After spending so much time on a gift for someone else, I need to put some work into something for myself, so I've started to work on a cardigan with this lovely wavy pattern with the rest of this yarn. It's really fun and definitely not as hard as it looked at first.

the hexagon cardi so far. I've got about a quarter left of the bottom edging, and then just the edging for the center front edges and neck left.
I have vague ideas around painting the motifs (thinned down acrylic, probably - it should survive the washer on cold) and then overdying the whole thing to keep it from being overly gaudy. No, it cannot stay white. It will magnetically attract every stray bit of ink, paint, stain, oil, mustard, sticky crud, tomato sauce, melted candy, wine, and any other substance with the potential to stain cotton just by virtue of being in my presence. So if I have any hope of wearing it, it has to be dyed. I just have to figure out the logistics of actually making it happen.

WIP Wednesday
Tumblr media
We're up to 22 leaves now. These take less yarn than I originally estimated, but I'm sticking with my original plan to knit leaves until I run out of this yarn, then attach them with scrap yarn from something else. I haven't decided yet if that's going to be the leftover bits from my socks, or a different yarn though.
This yarn had a very slight fade from a brighter green to a darker green, but I like the slight variety that creates in the leaves' colors!
Tumblr media
Quite a bit of progress made on the second sock this week. I'm a bit ocer halfway through the foot. My goal is to finish that up this week.
Tumblr media
I also restarted the cardigan this week! I ended up changing needle sizes, and then when I went to do the math (since my guage is now smaller than the pattern guage) I realized the size I was working on would have been way too big, so I didn't have to switch which size I'm following, just which needles I'm using.
I also did a bunch of swatches/mock ups, and I've planned out how to do the ribbing to make it look best when I pick up stitches for the button band, as well as how I'm doing the buttonholes and other small details.

I had a disaster with the cardigan last week: I got to the end of a right-side row, full of yarnovers and decreases, to find I had either 8 stitches too many 🙄 or was missing 4 stitches. At the very beginning of the row I had somehow dropped the first four stitches and they had started to unravel. Panic and hyperventilation followed.
Of course I didn't use lifelines. Now I did, but trying to follow the line of yarn was … well, lets call it an adventure. A cross-eyed adventure. Once the lifeline was in I could frog, and that's where I found I had missed a few stitches, which were now unsecured. Oh well.
Thank goodness for blocking mats and pins. Got the thing pinned out over three mats, pins in at one angle to secure the loose stitches, pins at another angle to count the pattern repeats. 171 stitches all accounted for and back on the needle! Only took about 2 1/2 hours. That was how I spent my Friday evening last week 🤷🏽‍♀️
It seemed like it would be a very bad idea to have to start a new ball of yarn in the middle of the lacework, so a couple of rows after the seed-stitch band I changed to a new ball and hoped there would be enough. I can now say that I've finished the lacework, I just need to bind off and I have 6 arm-lengths of yarn left of the current ball. Result!
Tumblr media
And I have 1 1/2 balls left for the sleeves.
In the midst of all this eye-wrenching lace knitting, I started another project. This one is as simple as possible, a completely reversible scarf.
