In an effort to reduce bicycle theft at the Alewife MBTA subway and bus station in Cambridge, Massachusetts, transit police put a cardboard cutout of a police officer in the bike cage. Hundreds of people use these racks daily and officials say it has reduced bicycle theft by 67%.
