hi, my name is melia! i've been listening to kpop since 2016 and a carat since 2017, i stanned right around clap era. i listen to a bunch of other groups but i don't stan anyone except svt. and as you might have been able to tell from my blog header, i am, in fact, a huihui :')

my main blog is @corvid-lesbian. you can follow me there if you want, but it's a mess of untagged reblogs, so it may not be that interesting. but i mainly wanted to bring it up since you may see the username in replies and i want y'all to know that's also me!

about this blog

this is a sideblog that was originally just for reblogs of svt/kpop stuff but i started running it as an update blog in late 2019. caratblr and kpop tumblr in general used to be really active when i first got into kpop, but over the years more and more people left for twitter or became inactive in general due to life stuff. when all the general svt update blogs became inactive i didn't want to see caratblr die, so i thought, fine, i'll do it myself >:3

unfortunately i can't speak korean so i'm not a translator, and i live on almost the exact opposite side of the world from korea so i'm not in an ideal timezone for updates. but i'm dedicated to what i do and i like to think i've gotten pretty good at scoping out information and resources about seventeen and conveying it to the tumblr sphere over the last few years :')

what i post

my rule of thumb is i try to post updates within 24 hours. on the rare occasion i can't meet that, i'll make a post notifying that updates will be late

if there's something you expected to see that i didn't post within 24 hours, you're welcome to send me an ask about it :3 occasionally i will just miss something or there may be a reason i didn't post it which i'll be happy to explain, but there are some kinds of content i just generally don't post (as specified below)

i do post youtube links for certain things like teasers, mvs, and appearances on channels other than the official seventeen/hybe channels. i don't tend to post youtube links for regular content like gose or inside seventeen, etc. though i will occasionally

i do post links for article interviews (i don't post articles that are about seventeen but are not interview based/contain original content from svt)

i don't usually post anything related to merch

i also primarily stick to official seventeen channels (so for things like magazine shoots, i do post any promo shots uploaded to svt's twitter or instagrams, but i don't post any additional promo shots posted to the magazine's social media)

theoretically i also post weibo updates, but a lot of the stuff jun and minghao + pledis post these days are also cross posted on twitter or instagram so i haven't been as good at checking it recently

i don't post event information that is region specific (to korea, japan, etc.) i do post general event announcements (tours, online concerts, etc.)

i'll also post random information/updates that may be of particular interest or significance, even if it doesn't fit within the categories i normally post (there may also be other categories i could add to this list that i'm forgetting)

for all the things i say i don't post, there are always exceptions. but those categories are usually one's that i have posted in the past and have learned people don't have an interest in, or (like ig stories) are too intensive to always post even though i know people would appreciate seeing them

i am one person, and i've learned to limit myself so as to not experience burnout, and because i've been suffering from wrist pain since summer of 2021 or so TT so please be understanding that i can't post everything ;-;

as i said before though, if there's something you expected to see and haven't, or you're looking for information or have a question about something, you're welcome to send an ask about it. i like to think i'm pretty lenient with people i block, but i do have some expectations

bots there are a lot of bots on tumblr, which is why i always check new follower's blogs. if your blog looks too much like a bot, you may end up getting blocked. i try to give some benefit of the doubt for this one, but i do advise new users to change their pfp and header image to avoid being mistaken for a bot :3

being shippy in the tags or reblogs of my posts i don't care what people get up to on their own blog, but shipping real people personally makes me uncomfortable. and if you're in the tags of my post making shippy comments or writing explicit self-insert fanfiction (yes this has happened) i'm going to block you. just make a separate post so i don't have to see it and we'll all be happy

being antagonistic in my inbox or on my posts the inevitability of posting on the internet is that sometimes people don't agree with you. i've had a lot of healthy discourse on this blog and i don't mind engaging with people who disagree with me on things. but if i feel like you're coming at the conversation in bad faith/being overly antagonistic or trying to argue with me over something i didn't even say, i won't entertain it. luckily this doesn't happen often, but it has happened

I think if the audience is 21+, I can do GA 😂 I went to see Epik High recently and most of the audience were in their 20s or older, so it was less chaotic. Not to be that adult LOL, but sometimes, the younger fans are kinda wildin' and disrespectful 😅 Epik High isn't like one of my favorite favorite groups (they were my intro into Kpop), so I wasn't expecting myself to be knocked off my feet, but I was LOL! It was just like fun and chill vibes. I feel like the audience can really make or break your experience.

Omg omg omg omg!!! My turn to go wild!! LOL. So long story, short when it comes to SVT: I was a casual fan for a long time, but only started during L&R era. I'm embarrassed to admit, but the combo of Kidult and Mingyu really shoved me to explore their discography (and them as a group LOL) further 😂😅 All this to say, I've only been a carat for ~3-ish years now, so I'm sure there are other ppl who can give you a more seasoned and in-depth look into their discography, but I'll make a separate post sharing my favorite pieces from them! Noted about HHU - Wonwoo/Mingyu were 2 of my very first biases, so I definitely have stuff for you LOL.

RED VELVET MY GIRLS!!!! In my humble opinion, their concept is so timeless - I hope they last a long time 🥺 I definitely went through a Taeyeon phase as well a few years ago (was it really a few or more? T^T) LOL. Why is still my favorite from her!!

The way I was just vibrating when you mentioned StayC LOL - I have friend who LOVES them with all her heart and it's so cute and fun to see y'all be big fans of them!! I did listen to YOUNG-LUV.COM and agree so much!!! I think Young Luv was definitely in my Top 10 most played on Spotify this year hahaha.

LSFM is probably my second most favorite gg after Red Velvet 🥺😭 I mostly started following because I wanted to support Yunjin who I've been keeping my eye out for since her green melona basement room days 😭 (yes, the same one as SVT LMAO). She used to be a Pledis trainee, but then got bounced around a lot between different agencies because she never quite fit any of the concepts. It warmed my heart when she debuted after almost giving up! I ended up really liking LSFM overall after watching their docu-series and then the Anti-Fragile comeback! Blue Flame and No Celestial have a chokehold on me hahaha.

Have you heard Lovin' Me by Fifty Fifty!!!?? I think you might like it a lot!!! I have no idea who they are either lmao, but I really liked that one!! 100/10 would recommend checking out XG - I think they have something a little different to offer the kpop gg scene and it's refreshing! They're latest comeback was really good 🤩

Oh Hello new carat!!! Welcome to the family!

Hmmm lemme think how best to answer this - I know there are a good number of really good ‘Guide to Svt’ videos on youtube so I super recommend those!! Here is my (abbreviated) intro to the members, including some of my favorite moments from each: Seungcheol: Leader but also Baby.  An absolute sweetheart, would die to protect this man.  Favorite meme moments include when he ate a whole tube of toothpaste to keep the other members from getting it, his Dorky Dad Dancing or his ‘YAWAWOOOO!’.

Jeonghan: I call him Con Artist because he is. This boy is so Clever, and I relate to him because I too attempt to cheat at every game.  He is one half of the Evil Twins who like to (lovingly) bully Seungcheol. Favorite moments include Every Time he’s cheated in a game and how willing he is to sleep at Any Time.

Joshua: Acts like a gentleman, is just as evil as his twin.  Don’t believe the ‘church boy’ image PLEDIS tried to push for him.  Favorite meme moments include his ‘sexy’ dance and... whatever went on when he was inflating a bottle with his nose. 

Junhui: My bias, I love this boy Literally so much.  He’s a bit of a shy bean but he’s also Weird As Fuck.  Favorite moments include the strange dubbing videos he kept posting where he was providing voices for corgis and other animals, his excitement over his hot dog cooking machine and every time he mirrors whatever the others are doing (it’s really cute). 

Soonyoung: Performance leader, absolute Meme, the Ultimate Gemini (legit he is gemini in Every house).  Fun fact I want to fight him because he jumped in front of me at a random dance play and scared the SHIT out of me.  Kind of a furry but we love him for it.  Favorite moments include breaking into Jihoon’s studio to record a song about tigers & that time he almost fought some sasaengs.

Wonwoo: Probably in possession of SVT’s only braincell except it also goes on vacation sometimes.  A beautiful, intelligent and sensitive nerd who I would commit crimes to protect. Favorite meme is definitely his line in Home where Carats all yell back at him in a super deep voice. Also his ‘hamburger’ aegyo is fucking cute.

Jihoon: Vocal leader, Genius Producer, literal definition of Tsundere. Probably has the braincell whenever Wonwoo doesn’t.  He writes and produces nearly all of SVT’s songs - we STAN a hardworking man.  Favorite meme moments include when he tried to hit Mingyu with a guitar and when he dodged everyone’s hugs onstage and ended up lifting one of the others over his shoulder.

Mingyu: The gentle giant, world’s biggest puppy dog. Essentially a real-life mary su - handsome, talented, but extremely clumsy.  Can do no wrong, please protect him from himself. Favorite moments include every single time he’s dropped or broken something on camera, or his ‘AKITA SOUND!!!’

Seokmin: Someone help this boy I love him so much but he has No Braincells.  Negative Braincells. But it’s okay because he’s so pure and sweet and has one of if not The most powerful voice in kpop. Favorite moments include when he touched some noodles and was so shook that his soul left his body, or just his general Screaming.

Minghao: A wine-drinking eboy art hoe and we Love him for it.  Our fashion king, models everywhere are Shaking. Drops some Wisdom Bombs every now and then, we stan a woke king. Favorite moments include doing acrobatics out of Nowhere without his glasses even falling off, and every time he’s So Done with Jun.

Seungkwan: The world’s sassiest and yet sweetest angel, an absolute Icon. Like Seokmin probably has some of the most powerful vocals in kpop, but is also an absolute Variety King. Comedians everywhere have nothing on this boy. Favorite moments include at the Ode To You tour where any time a member talked too long he yelled ‘IT’S NOT YOUR SOLO CONCERT!’ and his outrage over someone else getting Beyonce as their meyer’s briggs type.

Vernon: This boy.  A living meme. Also a fashion icon but in like. The opposite direction from Minghao. Everything he does is so fucking funny how does he do it? Also super sweet and has the best heart.  Favorite moments include all his Meme reactions, and when he and Joshua went bungee jumping.

Chan: The future of kpop. An absolute ball of talent and passion, puts 120% into everything he does. Can do Anything, be Anything, and we will support him 120%. Favorite moments include all of his Dino’s Danceology’s, and the absolute regret on his face every time he’s forced to say he’s Jeonghan’s Baby until he’s 30.

Kim Mingyu x OP

So, the past few days have been really stressful on everyone especially carats, with all the accusations going around for various idols and artists, even actors/actresses...just mess. 

I normally don’t jump the gun and even post or say anything until full statements and details have been released, most times I don’t even say anything at all, but this actually really bothered me. Here’s why:

So, a couple days ago I made a post about something in the OP for Mingyu’s allegations, now I’m not going to go into full detail about her post or mention everything because I’m sure everyone by now has read the most accurate translation that went around and it doesn’t matter to keep bringing it up. But there was one thing that really bothered me in her post, ONE BIG thing she mentioned that I was able to discuss with many people who reached out to me from my post-which I thank because I got the courage to talk about it some more and post my thoughts. So here it is.

The therapist. 

OP mentioned she wasn’t planning on even mentioning Mingyu or saying anything but her therapist encouraged her to saying it could lead to ‘more future harm for her’.  What type of therapist, in their right mind, would take this very vulnerable and obviously mentally unstable person, let alone their PATIENT, and tell them to go start some shit with a very popular and well known idol. Just. WHY? WHO? 

OP kept mentioning in her post Mingyu didn’t really do anything to her or say anything to her just the classroom and teachers would tell him to stop. He would make inappropriate jokes as your average 10-13 year old does. She never really accused him of doing anything to her and really kept mentioning he didn’t but she was still hurt and offended. She also said he wasn’t the cause of her trauma nor was he the reason why she was in therapy, and she mentioned some other things that didn’t add up to me but I am not going to go into detail too much because I think everyone at this point knows now.

But OP mentioned things and I do feel really bad for her but it’s like, if you were going to say he wasn’t the cause of a lot of your stress and trauma, your therapy, why even mention him in the first place? Why bring it up? And then not even want to clear it up WITH HIM but instead refuse and decline the moment to clear things up? I understand being hurt, stressed, and probably embarrassed over everything and gosh dang do I feel sorry for her because I do believe she’s a big victim here but NOT because of Mingyu. Her own frikin therapist encouraged her to start this and she listened. 

THAT is my problem. This therapist. If anything Mingyu and OP are major victims here and this therapist needs to be held accountable. It sounds to me this therapist took advantage of this very vulnerable and mentally unstable person, someone who TRUSTED them and came to them for help. Someone who is clearly probably regretting a lot right now and probably doing even WORSE. Someone who was already really traumatized and probably even more now. And don’t get me started on Mingyu too. 

Let alone this was this persons PATIENT. Their own patient and it looks to me like they took advantage of their own patient and saw an opportunity to twist and stir things up. Pledis can potentially sue and since OP does not want to even meet or get in contact with anyone that is really not looking good on her and she’s getting it even worse. Her own therapist!!!!!

I hope people see this and realize that what OP said with their therapist means she’s a victim too. I hope people stop hating her and encourage her to hold her therapist accountable...actually, I hope people just leave the OP alone. Same with Mingyu. What’s done is done and it doesn’t need anymore attention if Mingyu didn’t do anything. If she doesn’t want his apology he doesn’t need to stress for one. But I just hope people can move on and drop this for now. 

And I hope OP and Mingyu can move on without any regrets and go back to living. They deserve to be happy and full of joy too.

I hope that therapist gets fired. 

That’s all. I’m not going to comment more on the issue and I’m just going to go back in my lane and hope for the best for these two people. This really sucks for them and I hope people can start sending them love and support. You don’t have to support Mingyu or Seventeen if you don’t want to, but I wish people would stop trying to turn this into one big mess. Stop trying to say Mingyu is this and that, or that the OP is this and that. WE. DON’T. GET. THAT. SAY! We don’t know them. We don’t know these people nor were we there. 

This whole cancel culture has to stop and people need to realize we aren’t God. We cannot play God. We are allowed to have our own opinions on things but that doesn’t mean we decide what happens. This witch hunt has to stop. Take a look at yourselves, see for yourself how perfect you’ve been in your life. See how you’re without mistake. Thing is, we’re all human and we all make mistakes. We have all hurt people in our lives and we will continue to at some point. The only thing we can do is grow from mistakes and learn to take responsibility for our actions. It doesn’t get better as you get older, but it can be better if you grow and it isn’t hard to just be a decent human being. I hope whoever read this take that into account and really reads these words. Nobody is perfect, and nobody needs to be.

You sat on your couch, knees pulled up to your chest, staring at the package. You shouldn’t have this. You knew you should just put it back and then forget about it until Joshua got back again. But, your eyes kept staring at it, expecting it to burst into flames or open itself or do something. 

Things with Joshua lately had been… rough. You knew you loved him, and you knew he loved you, but it had been a rough patch for you two. You both knew this relationship wouldn’t be easy. When was dating an idol an easy thing to do? You got to watch him flirt with fans and say sweet things to them, but you always reminded yourself that at the end of the day, he was looking at you. He came back to you. 

But you also knew that he was tired, trying to juggle a growing career and a getting serious relationship. You knew the guilt he felt at not always being able to be there for you, no matter how much you reassured him that you understood he couldn’t always physically be there. 

While you understood, you still couldn’t help the hurt that you felt. You always saw your friends out with their partners, giggling and swinging their hands, smiles on both of their faces. You couldn’t really do that either, even when Joshua was around. He kept the skinship to an extreme minimum when you two were out, not wanting to expose anything about you two. 

You really loved Joshua, and he really loved you, but you knew you were both tired. You had this rock in the pit of your stomach, wrapped in fear that the end may be soon. 

He had just gotten back from tour, one that had been really long for both of you. You two had a weird air, Joshua giving you a tight hug before leaving and promising to be back soon. Once he got home, he basically dropped off his stuff, and then immediately had to go back to Pledis for some work emergency. He gave you a quick kiss, saying he needed to talk to you when he got back. 

You made it through most of the tour okay, but Joshua saying he needed to talk to you now? Terrified you. Considering he barely contacted you during the tour? You kept telling yourself he was busy, he had a lot to focus on while on tour. But now you were wondering if that was intentional? Did Joshua not need you? Was this tour a test to see if your relationship was something worth fighting for? Did he determine that he had to make your worst fear come true? 

So you distracted yourself until he came home. You cleaned your kitchen. You vacuumed. You read a couple webtoons online. You then decided to start unpacking his stuff, something you debated for a while. Because if he was going to break up with you, he would want to take his stuff with him, right? But why would he bring his stuff here if he was planning that? 

You had just started unpacking when you found the package. It was a simple brown package, with twine holding it together. As you picked it up, you saw your initials on the tag, causing you to furrow your eyebrows at it. 

And now you were in your living room. Staring at the package. Wondering what it was. 

If Joshua wanted to give it to you, he probably wanted to be here to give it to you. But man, your curiosity was killing you. Was it a good thing? Or was it a goodbye thing?

You jumped as your phone rang, seeing Joshua was calling you. 

“Hey.” You answered, hearing Joshua sigh. 

“Listen, I’m so sorry. I might be a little later than I planned…” 

“Really?” You asked, pouting. 

“I’m so sorry. Please go to sleep, we can talk in the morning, okay? Just get some good rest.” 

“Joshua…”

“Hey, I am coming home tonight. I promise.” He said, you letting out a sigh. “I love you.” 

“I love you too.” You muttered, Joshua sighing himself again. 

“Get some rest.” You both hung up the phone, your eyes going back to the package. You shook your head, reasoning that you would have to wait until the morning to find out. You got up, changed into pajamas and got ready for bed. You sat in bed for about 10 minutes, before you got back up, walking towards the living room. You sat on the couch, pulling the package onto your lap. You took a deep breath, opening the side of the package and pulling the contents out. 

It was… letters. A bunch of letters. A small stack of letters. Each one with your name on it. There was nothing else on any of the envelopes, just your name. 

You made a quick decision, making yourself some tea and grabbing a blanket, settling into the couch, picking up the top letter, slowly opening the envelope.

So Jeonghan found my other letters. He is now making me write more of these because HE thought it was adorable. Also, excuse the crossed out part. I only have so much paper and I refuse to let Jeonghan win like this. We’re in another new town this morning, some of the guys want to go to a carnival later. I’m still debating on going or not. We don’t have the concert until tomorrow night, but traveling is tiring and I kind of want to sit by the pool for a while (yes, I’m at a pool, are you jealous? ;) ) I know if you were here, you would tell me to go with them. I’m sorry I called so late last night. I guess my timezone math was still a little off. I just needed to hear the sound of your voice for a bit. At least I got to kind of tuck you in, right? Even if it was on the phone. I’m starting to get into a habit of doing this. I still feel silly, but it’s getting easier, I think? Hosh hasn’t come back from DK and Jeonghan’s room yet, so I’m just in our room by myself right now. The moon is huge tonight. You would probably spend an hour trying to get a picture of it. I just tried, it’s not great but it’s a decent picture? No it’s bad never mind I even cracked the window open in your honor. It’s so weird. Remember how I always complained about you wanting to have the window open at night? I never understood how you slept with the cold air and the traffic noise, but it’s actually helping now. It’s not great since you’re not here to cuddle with, but it makes me think of you. Hosh usually shuts the window at some point in the night though. You are not going to believe this! You remember that old hand lotion you used to have? The one that smelled like honey? The one that when you ran out and we went to the store to get more and they told you it was seasonal and you cried? I FOUND IT. We were in a shop and I smelled it, so I asked the girl working about it and she showed it to me. It was a different little tube than the one you had, but I swear it’s the exact same scent. I can already picture how excited you’ll be when I give it to you. I’m half tempted to just mail that to you, but I also want to keep it with me until I get back. A carat asked about you today. I was not prepared at all for that. I mean, yeah, they know about you and everything, but I was not prepared to be asked about you. They didn’t ask anything bad, just that they wanted to know how you were and if I missed you while on tour. Kind of a weird question to ask at a fanmeet but whatever I guess? I told them you were doing well and that I was looking forward to being able to see you in 2 weeks. I at least hope you’re doing well. I’m sorry we keep missing each other this week. Between my schedule and yours… We just can’t line up at all, huh? God, this almost feels worse now that I’m almost home, you know? Like, we’re so, so close but still so far away. I can’t believe I didn’t notice how distanced we’ve been. I don’t know how. You were always there for me when I needed you and now that I can’t come see you after a long day… I don’t know. No matter where I go or who I meet even the fans you constantly point out as pretty, which I don’t know why you keep doing that to yourself because I still stop breathing when I see you or what happens, you’re my one and only. If anything this tour just made me realize that whether it’s Paris or London or Tokyo all places I want to take you, by the way, I’m going to think about you worldwide.

I’m home now well, at Pledis but I felt like these needed a conclusion. Not sure why, because I’m still not sure you’re ever going to get them. But it felt weird to just… end? So I gotta write this I guess. I managed to get the next few days off because some guys are going home for family and such, and I intend to annoy the living hell out of you. I gotta make up for lost time, right? Hopefully we can pick up right where we left off. I plan to get those spicy noodles you love on the way home. That will be a good start to our days together. Joshua smiled to himself, picking up the envelopes with folded paper inside. He glanced at you, sound asleep on the couch, the last letter barely hanging from your hand. He looked over your face, examining softly. You looked tired. He wished you had just gone to bed, but he also knew that he probably gave you reason to be afraid of him wanting to have a discussion with you. 

He carefully took the letter out of your hand, chuckling a bit as you kept a hold on it. He got it eventually, shaking his head and he put it back in its envelope and tossing it on the table with the others. Joshua then stood up, stretching his arms over his head a bit before reaching down to pick you up. He was going to let you keep sleeping, but he might as well move you to your bed so you wouldn’t hurt in the morning. 

As he was part way down the hall, he heard you start to mumble. He stopped walking, looking at you with your eyes still closed. 

“..Shua?” You mumbled, Joshua chuckling again. 

“I’m here.” He whispered, not sure if you had actually woken up or if you were talking in your sleep. 

“Is it morning?” You mumbled, Joshua smiling at you. 

“Not quite, but almost.” He said, finally getting to your room. He carefully opened the door, leaving it open as he walked in. 

“What are you doing here?” You asked, eyes starting to blink open a bit. 

“I’m done with work for the day.” He said, pulling back the covers and laying you down, pulling the covers back and tucking you in. He sighed, thinking about how he had waited to do that for so long. 

“Mhm.” You said, your eyes falling again. Joshua just smirked, brushing some of the hair from your face before getting up to get ready for bed himself. Once he was ready, he walked to the other side of the bed, crawling in himself and letting himself relax. He felt you poke his arm, causing him to turn his head. You were looking at him, eyebrows slightly together. 

“How was the tour?” You asked, Joshua just smiling at you. 

“It was great, but we can talk about it in the morning, okay?” He said, turning to face you. “Get some sleep.” 

“What time do you go in tomorrow?” You mumbled. 

“Didn’t you read the last letter?” He asked, you shrugging. 

“I fell asleep at the start of it.” You said, snuggling a bit into your pillow. 

“I have off the next couple days.” He grinned as your eyes widened, head picking up a bit. “Yeah, you’re stuck with me now.” He laughed, you letting your head rest again. 

“Oh my.” You said, a slight smile on your face. You snuggled into Joshua a bit, which he happily accepted. “So, did you miss me?” Joshua placed a kiss on your head, holding onto you. 

“You know I thought about you worldwide.”

ok ngl. until november 2021 (yeah two months ago), i didn't know anything about seventeen and i will admit that i thought they had 17 members (a reasonable assumption for someone who didn't know anything about svt!!). i think they first came on my radar in 2017 when they dropped don't wanna cry, and i listened to that song on repeat over and over and over again and tried to learn the choreography. i think I always knew that they made bops? like i listened to clap when it came out because it was an iconic bop. i liked left and right because it's also an iconic bop. i listened to rock with you because it's also a bop.

i only really got into svt because i started watching going seventeen in november after seeing a gifset of them playing shout in silence in the tribal games episode. more specifically, hoshi being completely terrible at shout in silence made me watch the episode, and one thing led to another....

before i got into svt, i really only could recognize woozi by sight (because he's smoll and cute, or that's what i thought before i learned the members). i knew of jun, because he's a living meme in chinese kpop fandoms and also because nct china-line talk about him all the time, and shortly before i started watching gose, i was obsessed with minghao, because he's exactly my type.

anyways all this to say: if anyone's a fake carat, it's me LMAO

i completely did not expect to become so obsessed with seungcheol but it just sort of happened!!! like ngl, i didn't even think he was one of the more attractive members at first. but he's got an insane body and huge thighs and arms. like, the boy is THICK. and i've always been bothered by kpop-buff guys like johnny who are actually really skinny and look like they'd snap like a twig if they tried to lift a really heavy object, but seungcheol looks STRONG. and then it spiraled from there!! he's so cute!! his laugh is an instant serotonin boost! i want to protect him but i also want him to protect me!!!!!!

Well I do know the game has opened up a survey about feedback and BOY did I give feedback djsjs (funnily enough they didn't have feedback for no free diamond content gee, I wonder why?) And I do recall one of the questions asking if the game should have all artist be grouped together so maybe there is hope? Maybe they will improve on the game because currently Some stuff is confusing lolol. I try to enjoy the game but boy do I just collect my daily stuff and go lol. As for the theories and lore, I do agree. I mean one of my favs (another hybe artist lol) has this grand universe lore and it started of simple but then it got into just wildness and imo while it is still interesting they are still continuing it apparently, I do feel like they should have ended it because that is what it seemed like to me but considering how the lore is (or was? Idk anymore) a fan favorite. They milked it imo and it no longer felt interesting per se. I'm still intrigued don't get me wrong but sometimes it should be simple and not overdone which is why I am shocked svt is even having one? Like never thought that could happen but we really don't know how this lore even is so its too early to say pledis is going to mess things up. Maybe its just for this comeback? I do know some groups do this sometimes and just peace out after doing a theory like concept for once haha.

i'm really interested to see what the comeback is going to be like, bc an article said it's not refreshing svt, but personally i don't get the vibe that it's going to be super dark either? like after darling and with the first two versions i thought it might be, but now im not sure. im looking forward to it in either case! this comeback has me intrigued. (although i am a bit disappointed that we're only getting 9 songs on the album ;-;)

yeah, i'm hoping that this storyline is only for the comeback. i feel like it might be since the story still seems to be like, a metaphor for svt's own life and experiences, which is what their concepts are usually related to anyway. and we don't necessarily have an indication that it's supposed to be an ongoing storyline, just that we know it's a marketing strategy a lot of companies (including hybe) use for their groups. but i guess we'll find out in the next year or so as we see the next couple comebacks lol. i'm not gonna complain about it too much as long as it's well done, and so far i think they've done a good job with darling and the teasers, so we'll see!

I just hit my one year mark recently of being a carat and I thing everything @hearttoshu said is on point. I started listening to Seventeen because the music makes me feel good and following the boys in their work because it makes me happy. And at the time, I really needed SOMETHING because my mind was wandering down some heavily shaded paths.

When I first joined, I was super into the "vote on these 3 different sites when half of it isn't in English (so I only kinda understood) and you have to download certain accounts to do it" and I did it. And when Seventeen lost and the comments started coming in "oh, we'll do better next time," "we'll keep trying for our boys," etc.... I felt ok. Disappointed, but not blaming myself. But then you start to see the comments about being lazy and that our boys are flops* because carats can't get their stuff together, it has a way of sending a person right back to the path of negative feelings about themselves over something that isn't directly our fault.

I think carats vote our butts off (when we know about the voting and have time), but it needs to be understood that there are other factors (or politics) that go into the voting system.

I love Seventeen because they directly contribute to my happiness levels and I love being able to contribute to their happiness levels. BUT I have to step back and pull myself away from carats sometimes because I know that by listening to SVT and watching their videos, I am helping in some way. I have kids and an apartment to take care of. I can't dedicate my life to constantly being on the computer to help raise Seventeen and be present in the life of my family. When I was trying to do both, I felt terrible. Carats need to be more understanding of each other and encourage, not put down.

It's ok to be disappointed, but knowing that I was able to help, even in a small way, makes me feel validated as a person and a Carat. Don't take that away.

Listen, I know some carats are really upset that Seventeen didn’t win the special stage at kcon.

This has always been an ongoing conflict with carats, our views and votes aren’t as high as they could be knowing Seventeen’s popularity and this vote being no different.

But I think we’re losing the point here.

Look I get it. I’m upset and worried about Seventeen too. It’s not like Pledis is the best production company out there in terms of marketing and management. I think the fact that Pledis didn’t tweet about voting for Seventeen’s special stage in kcon is just another indication of the possibility of Pledis not knowing exactly how to promote Seventeen’s activities outside of Japan (as well as a lack of english interviews such as with buzzfeed, etc. but that’s purely an assumption from me not facts).

The point is: stop getting angry at other carats.

Stop calling this fandom “lazy”. Stop thinking you’re the only one who cares and supports the boys and that other carats are just too lazy to vote or stream or whatever. Groups are not just defined by how many votes we get.

Yes. I want Seventeen to win a daesang too. And yes I am willing to reblog constant reminders to vote and try to reach as many people as possible when that time does come. I too want the best for Seventeen.

But this does not mean Seventeen will fail just because you believe the fandom is “lazy”.

Not everyone knows how to vote nor that there even was a vote, again pledis did not tweet about it. Not every carat follows every single thing Seventeen does. Carats can enjoy Seventeen’s music alone and that’s fine! Carats can vote and stream if they want, that’s fine! Carats don’t have to be up-to-date in every single thing Seventeen do and that’s fine!

As long as you love and support Seventeen that’s all you need to be a carat!

Spread the information and focus your energy on supporting Seventeen how you want. DO NOT waste your energy getting angry at this fandom. In the end of the day we all want what’s best for Seventeen.

Completley agree with you about the whole "what it takes to be an actual fan" thing. Not only do people have lives outside of the fanbase, but also might be tight on money and cant spend it to buy albums, go to concerts, etc. If anything, svt would completely understand considering their trainee days where they had to share everything from shampoo to the last bit of toothpaste. Sometimes listening to their music is all you can do

And if streaming and voting was all it took to be considered a fan, well... I have some bad news for the people who forked over a lot of cash and bought the official carat fan club box thing pledis sells every year. It means absolutely nothing even if it says official fan club on it. Sorry kids but you got ripped off, the real ticket to fan club is through voting.
