Abu Dhabi is famed for its high-end automobiles and immaculate streets; thus, car washes are a necessity in the city. Here are some advantages and the many kinds of car washes in Abu Dhabi:
Advantages:
Preserving Appearance: By removing dirt, dust, and other impurities that might degrade the paint and finish, routine car washes help to maintain the exterior appearance of your car.
Protecting the paint: Regular car washing helps to protect the paint from wear and tear brought on by UV rays, bird droppings, tree sap, and other environmental elements.
Prevents corrosion and rust: Frequent car washes remove salt, chemicals, and dirt from the vehicle's surface that might build up over time, preventing corrosion and rust.
Enhancing Visibility: A clean car ensures clear windows and mirrors, enhancing visibility and promoting safer driving.
Kinds of car Washes:
Self-Service Car Washes: These car washes offer facilities so that clients can wash their own cars using tools like pressure washers, foam brushes, and soap dispensers that are provided. For those who prefer a hands-on approach, self-service vehicle washes are an affordable choice.
Automated Car Wash: To clean cars, automatic car washes employ conveyor systems and machinery. Several wash packages with options for pre-soaking, scrubbing, rinsing, and drying are frequently available. For those looking for a rapid and effective cleaning process, automatic car washes offer convenience.

While more complete packages that include interior washing, waxing, and polishing can cost between AED 60 and AED 80, basic exterior car washes often start at around AED 40. The size of the automobile, where the car wash is located, and any additional services or improvements can all have an impact on the ultimate cost. Here’s why The Water Is Dripping Out Of Your Car’s Tail Pipe
Tumblr media
Your car’s tail pipe has the sole purpose of emitting the gases – usually the by product of combustion process. But, have you noticed some water dripping out of it? If yes! You need to investigate the cause. However, this does not alarm an immediate attention. Nevertheless, you should not avoid an inspection as there are enough chances of damages over the period.
If you do not possess enough competencies, take help of a qualified professional. However, presence of water at a vehicle’s tail pipe is due to a number of reasons and most of them are not too critical.
However, it is abnormal for there to be a long-lasting flow of water coming out of the exhaust because there are some unfavourable circumstances that can turn into severe issues at some point of time.
You should take a look at these following points to understand the primary cause behind any instance of water dripping out of exhaust.
Is it condensation working behind the scene?
Tumblr media
You should not be amazed by the fact that a major outcome of a combustion process is a mixture of carbon dioxide as well as water. Once you turn off your car’s engine, or rest your engine for some time, the remaining exhaust gases find their way towards the tailpipe.
However, these gases go through the condensation process to turn into the water dripping out of the tailpipe. This does not fall into the category of problems as the water drips usually disappear after some time.
Is it a damaged piston causing water to drip out of the exhaust?
Tumblr media
Since water may come out of the exhaust as a result of the combustion process. However, if it is coupled with the black smoke emitting from the exhaust, there is surely a cause for concern, or more precisely, a faulty piston. And, you have to be alert before damage takes a toll on your engine and costs you a hefty amount for car engine repair.
Finding the problem is difficult, and a qualified mechanic can only help with this issue. A smell from the exhaust may also be present in addition to the smoke and water.
When you encounter such a problem while driving, pull over to a safe location and call a car recovery service to have it taken to a mechanic. If this issue is not fixed, engine components may be damaged, and performance may be significantly reduced.
For an emergency service, you can ask for a car recovery from Service My Car. Never neglect such a critical problem and opt for a quick inspection as well as proper remediation.
Is it the catalytic converter producing those drips of water out of the exhaust?
Tumblr media
The catalytic converter, an essential device at the exhaust, turns the harmful emission into a less hazardous or, to be precise, safer to emit into the environment.
However, a small amount of water start to appear as the catalytic converter works to reduce these toxic emissions. Small droplets of this water vapour will emerge from the tailpipe.
Most of the time, it's normal for the catalytic converter to drip water. If water appears in the exhaust of your car, your catalytic converter may be in excellent condition.
However, it would be wise to go for an inspection at a trusted workshop as water droplets coming out of exhaust are hard to diagnose. Service My Car offers you a proper diagnostic with a reliable solution to your problem if there is one.
Is it the damaged head gasket on your engine’s cylinder block?
Tumblr media
Quite unrealistic! However, it seems quite odd that a problem such as a worn head gasket may cause water to drip out of the exhaust.
If white smoke also comes out of the exhaust, then it is surely a damaged head gasket. Unfortunately, a head gasket leak could result in overheating of the cylinder block and other components. Once the components overheat, they might get distorted in shape while harming the seals and gaskets.
Once seals and gaskets wear enough to offer ways to coolant, a leakage happens into the combustion chamber, allowing the coolant to burn with the fuel. This leads to the white smoke coming out of the exhaust.
However, this problem requires immediate attention as failure to address the issue can lead to serious damage that may not be repairable. Service My Car assists you by dealing with such problems and mitigating risks.
Is it just engine heat causing water droplets to come out of the exhaust?
Tumblr media
You can anticipate seeing water coming from your exhaust if you reside in a cold climate. In order to cool down, engine parts typically require some time to allow the oil to circulate through them. Within the first few minutes of the engine starting up, the moving parts of the engine will produce a lot of heat. Additionally, the exhaust system will be unusually warm. The water starts to appear once the heat comes into contact with cold air.
The appearance of water droplets at the exhaust is not a major concern until the engine is not the culprit. However, the best course of action is to take your vehicle to a reliable workshop and have it inspected under the guidance of a qualified mechanic.

First you guys call him a one lap driver with no race pace when he qualifies on the front row. Then you say that he's washed when he qualifies P5 with demonstrably good pace on the long runs in free practice and problems with the car during qualy. Can you just admit that you dislike him and move on? With the amount of bad luck Charles has his results so far are legitimately not bad at all. Also where was this energy when Sainz fucked up Abu Dhabi last year?

million dollar man by lana del rey, charlos, angst or smut, or maybe both???💖💖
JESUS CHRIST ANON THIS CONSUMED IN WAYS I DIDN'T KNOW WERE POSSIBLE! i love the charlos unhealthy dynamic so much so this was so good to write!!!💖💖 Hope you like it! <3
million dollar man - prompt post
-
Carlos washes his face with cold water in the bathroom next to his driver's room. It's a strange late afternoon. His last Abu Dhabi late afternoon with Ferrari. And he will forever associate it with grief and the salty taste of cum in his mouth. That sums up his days in red accurately.
He's had many last times over the past few months, but the departure is sinking down on his shoulders at that specific moment. It feels like his final hour. His last dance.
He’d laugh if he really thought about it. He walked in thinking to be Ferrari's new exotic flower, a pretty and lethal asset, but it didn't work out that way, even if he tried damn hard. Carlos wasn't the chosen one, he wasn't a good enough reason to keep. Not like him, who's lying down naked on his little red sofa. Thoroughly fucked and spent, but brilliant, a million-dollar man, who stole his heart and somewhat broke it. Carlos couldn't stop him, even if he wanted to.
Charles was weird. Overly curious and overly sexual with him, giving him bedroom eyes during meetings with sponsors and tales of his grief on the plane, as they held hands in fear of crashing down.
Carlos always thought that was fitting for them. Freakish boys with big fears and big mouths.
Fuck if Charles' mouth was big, always talking so much shit, always mouthing at his neck. Carlos let him do whatever he pleased. Could he complain? Having his heart broken by Charles Leclerc on a random weekday felt so good that he kept on seeking such cracks and tears. Carlos bit the hand that fed him with too much pleasure.
Charles got the world, the racing, the people on his side. He loved being the object of desire of millions of people, and he loved considering Carlos one of them, just luckier than most since he got to put his hands on his diaphanous skin.
Carlos had been in love for a while, as Charles was in love with being worshipped and adored. He loved telling Carlos how good they looked together, while they fucked in the bathroom of a Ferrari event. Corrupted. Sold and property of the devil.
Carlos cries in the bathroom as the light over his head flickers. He missed Mclaren, he missed Lando and feeling like a big brother, like he knew everything. He felt like a man.
But he will miss Ferrari, and mostly Charles. He'll miss having his head between Charles' thighs and his wheels inside the sidepods of his car. He will miss not knowing anything, feeling like a child.
He sniffs a little thinking about the broken kiss they shared as Charles came in his hand. Will he be able to feel so much again?
“Are you coming back or what? They're looking for us, Carlos!” Charles calls for him, breaking his reverie.
Carlos looks at himself in the mirror one last time before sighing and drying his tears off with his palms. His eyes are swollen and his nose is red. Charles always said he looked handsome crying.
“One for the money, two for the show…” He mumbles before putting on a brave face and walking into the other room.
He lost and he has to say goodbye.

Toxicity within Formula One
I usually never give my own opinions on anything Formula One related because I’m afraid of getting hate, but I am sick of it, and I will finally want my opinion heard.
For a sport that’s not as popular as any other sport in the world, there is so much toxicity and animosity between fans. Either fans of people on the same team or fans of people on different teams are going at each other for no reason and it mostly happens within Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull. Lately, Mercedes has been infighting more than worrying about anything else.
You’ve got(and I’m not generalizing the fans. I’m calling out all the toxic ones. So, when I say fans, I meant the highly toxic people who be smirch others names and hype up their own favorite)
Russell fans calling Hamilton washed and occasionally saying racist things about him
Hamilton fans discrediting Georgia’s achievements and saying he will never be as good as Hamilton(also the people who are stuck on Abu Dhabi 2021)
Carlos fans making fun of Georges crash and saying the rudest things about Hamilton just because of a decision to not keep Carlos with the occasional racism
Charles fans doing the exact same thing Carlos fans are doing, but on a little bit lighter level because I haven’t really seen Charles fans being as rude to Lewis as Carlos fans
Max fans thinking they are on top of the world and absolutely nothing can touch them and being toxic overall
I don’t really see a lot of Checo fans, but the ones I have seen are always overshadowed by the max fans, but they are still toxic
Alex fans hating on Logan just because he’s not as good as Alex. Pretty much everyone’s fans hating on Logan for being American AB’s being xenophobic
Logan fans are pretty chill, but with what happened yesterday, they aren’t as chill as you think. There is no reason that they should be sending hate, and death threats to Alex because of a decision that was not his.
Fernando fans are pretty chill usually when I look at the comment section of Aston Martin. Unless it comes down to the LGBTQ. The amount of hate towards the LGBTQ under Aston Martin’s post by both Still fans, Alonso fans, and other team’s fans is disgusting.
Stroll fans usually don’t do anything except try to defend their favorite person, but I can assure you that they are not innocent just because you rarely see them being toxic. The whole thing with Bianca proved that, but I’m pretty sure that it was mostly just people who usually don’t like Stroll taking the chance to be misogynistic instead of criticizing her like everyone else was doing
Yuki fans, journalists, and other fans just calling Daniel washed and saying that he should give his seat up to Liam and wishing horrinle thing upon him
Daniel fans infantilizing Yuki, occasionally being racist, making fun of things he cannot control, and just being overall terrible people towards Yuki
And that’s not even all of it because then there’s the fighting of other teams still going on. And the overall hatred of Alpine for some reason.
Now, I can’t say much for the fans of Kick, Alpine, and Haas. I scroll through their comment sections and it’s usually people criticizing the team itself for their crappy cars or crappy pitstop. I don’t follow Haas so I don’t know how their comment section is like.
Of course, there are toxic people within those three teams fandom too, but go to their comment section, it’s mostly wholesome. Still toxic occasionally, but way more wholesome than Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bulls
I didn’t forget about McLaren, but they seem to actually be moderating their comment sections
I’m aware of how toxic Instagram is, but it’s not just on Instagram. It’s on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, I’m not calling Twitter X.
I know this is probably just going to get me hated on, and I’m probably yapping about nothing, but I feel like people take things way too seriously.
This is a sport. Meant for enjoyment and entertainment. I understand that not everyone is going to get along, and that there’s always going to be toxic people, but some of those same toxic people get upset when people are toxic towards their favorite.
This is probably all sounding like absolute Yapanese right now and I’m sorry if I haven’t properly got my point across. I’ll fix this in the morning when I’m more clear minded, but I wanted to point out just how toxic this fandom is. It’s more toxic than any other fandom I’ve been in except for K-pop
These are screenshots of responses to a comment on RB’s post about Yuki actually being in P7 after Alonso got a penalty. The comment said let’s not hate on Daniel because he will pick it back up. This is only a taste of what I mean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can’t even go back to Ferrari to screenshot comments and explain what I mean and I’m not going to Red Bulls page for that either because seeing the comments make me sick. But this is what I mean. And these are the tame ones.
Formula One fans need to realize that these men are not toys. They are not just entertainment. They are human beings with feelings who make mistakes just like everyone else does. They do, say, and act very stupidly, sometimes, but that does not warrant some of the stuff that is said to them. They do not deserve death threats, and hate just for crashing and being afraid for their life or enjoying a win they deserve.
They are not toys. They are human beings. Just like you and me and they deserve respect because they put their lives on the line to do with their love and entertain their fans.
Speaking of fans while I’m at it. Respect the privacy of the drivers. Someone filming George Russell while he’s using the year or not and posting it on TikTok is not okay and should never ever be considered okay
Here are some comments from George’s post where he’s apologizing for crashing and saying that he’s going to try to do better
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And don’t even get me started on the Ferrari fans bitching about Carlos leaving. It’s an extreme sport, no one‘s going to stay on their team forever just because they got one win and a couple of podium. I hate to sound toxic, but the way some of those, grown ass men and women are talking about Hamilton as if he’s not the seven time world champion as wild. It’s not Hamilton’s fault that Ferrari thought he would be a better fit.
I sincerely love Ferrari and their drivers, and I wish him the best and it makes me happy to see them win, but it does not make me happy to see the fans thinking that they rule the world, and that no one on the grid is better than Carlos. I love Carlos, but if Hamilton had a better car and Max‘s car didn’t start setting itself on fire, he would not have won.
Again, I hate to say that because it sounds like I’m hating on him, but I’m not. That’s why I like Tumblr better, because the people on TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram, are all… I don’t even even know how to say it without sounding weird. So this is where I’ll end it for now.
And before anyone says anything, I know it’s an extreme sport and people are gonna hate on someone that’s not their favorite driver, but the people I’m talking about are taking it way too far. You shouldn’t hate on anyone just because they aren’t your favorite in general, But I’ve seen a Ferrari fan called Hamilton a monkey because he’s going to be joining the team.
I’ve seen a Daniel fan say only sushi eaters like Yuki. As in, only Japanese people like Yuki, and nobody else.
There’s a difference between expressing your dislike towards something somebody did, and something somebody has said, and being extremely toxic. Some of you might have even been those toxic people if you are, do better, because even just saying something like that on the Internet can make karma come for you.

Exactly as you said in your reply to the previous ask, his problem management truly was a masterclass! It's not a masterclass only when he's overtaking impressively or going wheel to wheel with other drivers, it's about seeing his work between the lines and understanding of the structure of the car. And that's the difference between someone who simply watches a race and someone who watches and comprehends what's going on at any given moment. That's why the opinions of most fans on here are absolute bullshit, because if they don't see some crazy driving, then clearly the driver is washed and overrated. Honestly, you and users valyrfia and tsarinablogs (might have messed the names up) have given me hope that there's true fans of motorsport on here, your guys' takes are practically the only ones I agree with - because you possess critical and logical thinking
whoo! shout out to @tsarinablogs and @valyrfia!
yeah, most fans only see what they want to see, and that's okay. i know a lot of f1 fans who just do not bother to watch races and only watch the highlights which never really shows the full picture.
i don't have problems with any of these people but if you engage in public discourse re: racing, you should look up the data to back up your takes.
i think it's more fun to see what's going on and with charles you can always learn more about the way he drives and thinks on the track (when he explained how he was preparing for the vegas checo overtake, or how he predicted max's behaviour in abu dhabi at the start and used it to his advantage come to mind).

Last year at Ferrari feels during the Japanese GP: A Carlos Sainz character study
Word count: 624
“Okay and that’s P3, I repeat P3. Grande, Carlos. Solid race,” he hears over the radio, listening with a distant sense of wonder. It’s not the same thrill and adrenaline he felt two weekends ago, but he’s quietly happy anyway, and the slightest bit stunned.
3 podiums in 3 races, so far the only driver to finish in the top 3 every race they’ve driven this year. He’s gone entire seasons without ever seeing the podium, and now he’s done it three times already. It feels like a miracle.
After the cool-down lap, he pulls into the designated number 3 spot (and what is with that number? 3-3-3…) for parc fermé, and sits in the car for a moment, chest still heaving from the exertion of the race. The cheers of the crowd wash over him like a wave, and while he knows it’s not for him specifically, it still finds its way inside of him and lights him up, in the way that sense of victory and satisfaction always does.
He sits and feels his stomach faintly throb, as if reminding him that he had an open wound from surgery not that long ago. It feels like he’s been walking around with an open wound since before Jeddah, and his success this season is the universe trying to make up for everything that’s happened, licking his wounds like an apologetic cat that scratched him. Too little too late, some would say. But he’s always been more forgiving than he should be, so he just accepts it, and decides to enjoy it while he can.
After noticing that he’s been sitting in his car for a while, lost in thought, he quickly removes his steering wheel and pulls himself up out of the car. He goes to where the Ferrari guys have bunched up at the fence and allows the pats to his helmet, shakes hands and says “Thanks, couldn’t have done it without the team’s help, great race out there today” until it starts to feel like the only words he knows. He gets weighed, does the post-race interviews, and misses Charles and Lando in the cooldown room like limbs he lost and no longer has. (Was that the last and only time he’ll ever have that experience? Will he be able to share the podium with Charles again, while he still bleeds rosso corsa? Will he be able to say “Tell Charles to come closer, and we celebrate this one together” at least one more time before this year is over?)
He is in a bit of a daze until the podium ceremony, when he steps out behind Max and Checo, and suddenly everything is bright, bright.
In that moment, standing on the step for third place, he is reminded of his karting days, when he hadn’t yet learned why he shouldn’t wear his heart on his sleeve, when he didn’t know that he shouldn’t befriend the other kids.
He remembers someone at one of the tracks saying, “It isn’t over until it’s over,” meaning nothing is sure. Meaning even when it looks like you’re on top of the world, you can stumble and fall in the blink of an eye. Meaning fight until the final lap, until the checkered flag, like it’s the last thing you’ll ever do.
He remembers that now, with his heart pumping Ferrari-red blood throughout his body and the awareness of a closing door hanging heavily above his neck like the blade of a guillotine.
This year is his last with Ferrari, and he’ll give all of himself until the checkered flag in Abu Dhabi, just like he was taught.
It isn’t over until it’s over.
He smiles, and lifts the trophy up into the afternoon sky.

Except Yuki dunked on him before that floor got slapped on too. Washed.
hahahahaha do you want to point out where/when that was exactly?? When Daniel outqualified him first race in the car in Hungary? Or at the race directly before in Vegas where Daniel made him look like a rookie in both quali and the race. There was no performancec gap between the two before Abu Dhabi - it was literally 3-3. That's just facts and if you don't like it then I don't know what to tell you other than maybe try googling before talking shit 🤷🏻‍♀️

OKAY so basically f1 is a type of motorsport, it’s more about the engineering behind the cars that are highlighted and it’s basically a sport for needs bc of the very technical terms that are used!
so basically, there are 10 teams (mercedes, mclaren, ferrari, aston martin etc) who each have 2 drivers that drive for them for points. points are only rewarded to the first 10 ppl who finish! you may notice the “p1” “p7” thing, the P means position and the number is what they finish on the grid. top 3 get to stand on the podium and do the champagne celebrations!
so before i mentioned that the engineering is very important in the sport (and they elevate the car based on new regulations so they can make it faster and lighter), there’s TWO things a f1 team can win. one is the obvious, the world driver championship where the driver wins BUT there’s also a another one which is for the constructors championship, which is usually for the TEAM who wins (they also get money and facilities they can use to make their next years car better)
so driver championship can be decided by u know who wins the most and all but the constructors one can usually bring some competition bc if one driver is leading: for ex: redbull driver max is leading, it’s not necessary that he’s leading the constructors one (bc he or his co-driver may not finish a few races which cost them points) it could be a diff team leading it by a point or a few!
now, here are some absolute GOATS you must know about:
- michael schumacher, the ultimate ferrari man. won the world championship 7 times with ferrari, (this is impossible w ferrari today) absolutely crazy man (unfortunately he had a life altering accident in the alps that has left him in a vegetative state, his family’s very priv about it but his son mick is in f1) ;; he’s the first to win the world championship’s 7 times
- senna, just a BEAST. fastest man to literally ever hit f1 (unfortunately passed away in a accident on track, he was gonna join ferrari the very next season)
- LEWIS hamilton, second man in f1 to win 7 world championships & first to ever win 8
this man is insane when he drives the mercedes car, the precision, the absolute craziness is shown. also u must have noticed me writing 8, yes well, he did win 8 but it was taken away from him ON THE VERY LAST LAP it was extremely unfair and heart dropping moment on the night of abu dhabi 2021…last lap between lewis and max,,,,just pin drop silence when shit happened…u can look up the highlights and u can find out exactly what it was…
- KIMI, ice man, also named as schumacher’s trauma bc he replaced schumacher and was also the last ferrari champion…it’s been 15 years..
here’s a few team jokes that u need to know :
ferrari ; i don’t even know what to say except that this team takes years off of my life, the way they fuck with their drivers mental healths 😭😭😭 they always have the best engine but it the TEAM who’s always fucking up race strategies which makes them lose EVERY SINGLE TIME ITS TIRING ITALIANS ARE TIRED WE JUST WANNA WIN, also ferrari’s the team that has won the most so it’s always a glory and a very big thing to even driver for ferrari bc everyone’s a ferrari fan. (this team’s internal politics is its downside, it’s not a f1 team, it’s a national team) also winning monaco (crown jewel of f1) with ferrari is like winning f1
- mclaren, they used to be good ARE good this season but their driver (norris) bottles everything, they can have a POLE position for the race, and lap one finishes their car is in the middle of the track, it’s frustrating bc he’s got what it takes but he crumbles
- red bull, reigning champions, very toxic work environment, just lost the man who created their car into a beast
- mercedes : was great until 2021 and we’ll lewis is moving to ferrari now that’s all u gotta know abt this team
- aston martin : washed f1 driver from the 2000’s and a nepo baby who’s dad owns the team, jk on the first part, alonso’s good but he’s just not it anymore 😭😭
- alpine ; two French drivers, it’s a civil war on track
- sauber : just never making it
- haas : 2 dilfs on track, one of them is out for blood
- williams : used to be very good, won championships but recent years since 2000’s just pure shit
technical terms :
DRS : drag reduction system (this basically makes the cars go really fast on straights and they can used it to over take others), it’s like a little flap that opens for air to go thru and the cards to go faster
tracks : so many races each year, hot to cold, tired have to be equipped to the track conditions
there’s practice days where the teams test what tires would best suit this track, 3 types of tires (soft, medium and hards)
u may notice f1 drivers have thick necks it’s bc they have to exercise their necks to keep up with the G forces, bc they go at such high speeds their neck needs to be in tact & that required a lot of pulling and effort
also f1 drivers don’t build a lot of muscles bc the car has to be very light so they can be fast, so the driver has to be at a certain weight so that after everything in the car they are also lighter
qualification is in 3 parts Q1,2,3 where last 5 are eliminated after each round if they don’t make it through which decides their order on the races!

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s8WHY3Gusx0&pp=ygULSW50cm8gdG8gZjE%3D
here’s a few videos to help u! anything else, pls don’t hesitate to ask!!!
...oh my fucking god I LITERALLY LOVE YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOH SO MUCH FOR THIS IM GOING TO ETA UP AS MUCH F1 CONTENT AS I POSSIBLY CAN IM SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY I WAS CAUGHT UP W A LOT OF STUFF 😭😭😭 BUT IM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS THANK YOU SO MUCH ILY I WILL DEF BE ASKING MORE Qs 😭😭💓💓 also I had only heard of like Ferrari and redbull I didn't even know Williams was a thing and I did hear that one team is just a nepo baby team but skdoeof I was like OOp? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS ONCE AGAIN I'm gonna be deep in the asshole of F1 now 😋💪🏾

Maxiel Au, ??angst?? This is about almost 1000 words of something. Something I don’t know.
Content warnings: none? Angst?
In the end, Daniel ends up watching Max win his 3rd WDC in Australia on his couch. No point in going. Not that he’s jealous or anything, he’s already established that Max is Max and Daniel is…well, whatever Daniel is nowadays.
He has a third driver role with RedBull but he hasn’t actually gotten in a F1 car since before summer break. And with no confirmed seat for next year, there’s no point in washed up Daniel Ricciardo being in Abu Dhabi.
He’s laying sideways on the couch watching the fireworks go off and the celebrations going on in the background. What a sight huh? Max jumping in the arms of the team while he lays on his couch in a ratty old shirt.
What a joke.
He focuses his eyes to the center table infront of him.
He really thought that he’d be better by the end of the year, that he’d get a competitive seat, and be a real threat next year. Like he used to be. There’s been talks with Mercedes about taking on a proper reserve role but he knows that the possibility of him actually getting in the car to race is slim.
He doesn’t know how long he’s been staring at the table but then he snaps out of it and grabs the remote to turn the television off. As he goes to press the button, it’s time to Interview Max. He doesn’t process what questions are being asked, just watching him. He’s always watching him, and every time Maxs eyes meet the camera, he’s thinks that he’s watching him too.
It’s only when the question of ‘So what post season celebrations can we expect to see?’ does he turn the tv off. No need in hearing about plans that don’t involve him.
He lays there. Many thoughts running around his head. He closes his eyes and thinks really hard about blonde hair and blue eyes, and then he falls asleep.
————
It’s days later around 10 pm when he gets a knock on his door.
It startles him from his place on the floor infront his couch, laptop in his lap trying to do some work. He wonders who it could be as he gets up and makes his way to the door. Another knock, this time however it somehow sounds irritated. He peeps through the little hole and-
He opens the door, “Max?”
“Where were you?” Max barges inside, lugging behind him a small suitcase.
Daniel closes and locks the door following after him.
“Max,”
“Where where you?” Max asks again. They’re in the kitchen now. Maxs bag long forgotten on the floor next to him. Daniel looks at him and thinks he’s hallucinating. Max looks back. It’s just silence, and staring.
“Where were you? I thought you’d be there. I thought, I thought-“
“You thought what Max?”
Max looks at him, anger in his eyes which turns to hurt. “I thought you’d be there Daniel,”
“I, I couldn’t Maxy,” his entire vocabulary seems to get thrown out the window, but the nickname stays.
“Why? Why couldn’t you be there? Tell me why” He’s not demanding. It sounds more like pleading.
‘Why couldn’t you be there’ ‘Why couldn’t you be there for me?’
“I couldn’t Max. I’m sorry, I couldn’t be there to see you win another championship while my career keeps on going down the drain. Congrats on that by the way. I’m sure next year you can take another one while I become even more washed up,” he doesn’t mean it to come out as harsh as it does. But he never used to think before speaking, why start now?
Max scoffs. “You’re not washed Daniel-“
“Really? You’re really saying that, to me, right now? Where’s my trophy Max? Where’s my championship? Where’s my team? Where’s my seat? Where’s my car? Really. Answer me that.” The words come out fast, his breathing matching the pace. His eyes have glossed over and he’s pretty sure his hands are shaking and he should really stop speaking -
“Tell me, what records have I broken? When was the last time I was a real threat on the grid? I’ve just been making bad choices and look at where I am! I might retire next year and you’re telling me that I’m not washed? That I’m not some driver that will retire and be forgotten about?”
He doesn’t realize Max walking towards him, arms up as if approaching a scared animal.
“Daniel-“
“Max, all I’ve done is won a few races. Left a good team and began a downward spiral,”
Max grabs both his hands and squeezes.
“I don’t, I don’t have a seat for next year Maxy.”
Max looks as if he has something to say but decides against it.
Daniel ducks his head ashamed at his outburst. Tears falling between them. He knows Max is watching him, but right now he can’t bear to do the same. He takes a deep breath in and chases it with an exhale. Max drops his hands and pulls him in close. Daniel wraps his arms around his back tightly.
“I’m sorry,”
“Don’t be sorry,”
“No I’m sorry. I’m sorry for yelling. I shouldn’t have said those things it’s not fair to you. And I’m sorry for not being there, I should have been. Should have been there to hug you first.”
Max doesn’t say anything, just hugs him tighter. It feels wrong. Daniel was supposed to hug him tight with the fireworks going off and the team celebrating in the background. It was supposed to be a good hug. But this, this is nice.
“Hey Maxy,”
“Yeah?”
Daniel breathes in,
“Congratulations.”
Max breathes out.
Not beta read. Those potential errors in there? Mine. I should do a part two for happy times but we’ll see.
