A Comprehensive Guide to Common Issues with the MG ZS: Troubleshooting and Solutions
The MG ZS, a subcompact crossover SUV produced by SAIC Motor under the MG brand, has gained popularity globally for its sleek design and affordability. However, like any vehicle, the MG ZS is not immune to common issues that may arise over time.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll delve into the most prevalent problems reported by MG ZS owners, providing detailed insights and practical solutions to address these concerns effectively.
MG ZS Engine Problems
The engine serves as the powerhouse of any vehicle, and the MG ZS is no exception. Despite its popularity, some MG ZS owners have reported various engine-related issues that require attention. These problems can manifest in different ways, impacting the overall performance and reliability of the vehicle.
One common issue reported by MG ZS owners is a loss of engine power. This can occur due to several reasons, including:
Clogged air filters: Over time, air filters can become clogged with dirt and debris, restricting the airflow into the engine. This can result in reduced engine performance and efficiency.
Faulty fuel injectors: The fuel injectors play a crucial role in delivering the right amount of fuel into the engine cylinders. If the injectors become clogged or malfunction, it can lead to poor fuel combustion and a decrease in engine power.
Ignition system problems: Issues with the ignition system, such as faulty spark plugs or ignition coils, can cause misfires and a noticeable reduction in engine performance.
Carbon buildup: Carbon deposits can accumulate on engine components, such as the intake valves and combustion chambers, affecting airflow and fuel combustion. This can result in rough idling, hesitation, and decreased power output.
If you experience any of these symptoms, it is advisable to have your MG ZS inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose the root cause of the engine problem and perform necessary repairs. Ignoring engine issues can lead to further damage and potentially costly repairs down the line. Regular maintenance, including air filter replacement, fuel system cleaning, and ignition system inspection, can help prevent and mitigate engine problems in the MG ZS.
MG ZS Suspension Issues
The suspension system of the MG ZS plays a crucial role in providing a comfortable and controlled driving experience. However, some owners have encountered various suspension-related issues that warrant attention to ensure optimal performance and safety.
One common problem reported by MG ZS owners is unusual noises coming from the suspension components while driving over bumps or uneven surfaces. These noises can indicate worn-out or damaged suspension parts, such as:
Struts or shock absorbers: Worn-out shock absorbers or struts can result in excessive bouncing or swaying of the vehicle, leading to a bumpy ride and reduced stability.
Control arms: Damaged or worn control arms can cause knocking or clunking sounds when driving over rough terrain, indicating a loss of control and alignment issues.
Sway bar links: Faulty sway bar links can produce rattling or clunking noises, especially during cornering or when driving over potholes, affecting the vehicle’s handling and stability.
If left unaddressed, suspension issues can not only compromise ride comfort but also impact the vehicle’s safety and handling. It is recommended for MG ZS owners to have their suspension system inspected by a qualified technician if they notice any abnormal noises or handling characteristics. Prompt diagnosis and repair of suspension problems can help prevent further damage and ensure a smooth and enjoyable driving experience with the MG ZS. Additionally, regular maintenance, such as lubricating suspension components and replacing worn-out parts, can help prolong the lifespan of the suspension system and prevent future issues.
MG ZS Brake System Problems
The braking system is a critical component of any vehicle, including the MG ZS, ensuring safety and control during driving. However, some MG ZS owners have reported various issues related to the brake system that require attention to maintain optimal performance and safety.
One common problem experienced by MG ZS owners is brake squealing or grinding noises when applying the brakes. These noises can indicate several underlying issues, such as:
Worn brake pads: Over time, brake pads can wear down, causing them to make squealing or grinding noises when they come into contact with the brake rotors. This can compromise braking performance and increase stopping distances.
Brake rotor damage: Warped or damaged brake rotors can lead to uneven braking, causing vibrations and noises during braking. This can also result in premature wear of brake pads and reduced braking effectiveness.
Brake caliper issues: Sticking or malfunctioning brake calipers can cause uneven brake pad wear and result in brake dragging, leading to overheating and premature brake component failure.
Brake fluid contamination: Contaminated brake fluid or air bubbles in the brake lines can affect brake pedal feel and responsiveness, leading to spongy or inconsistent brake performance.
If you experience any of these symptoms, it is crucial to have your MG ZS’s brake system inspected by a qualified technician to diagnose and address the underlying cause of the problem. Ignoring brake issues can compromise safety and lead to more severe damage to brake components. Regular maintenance, including brake pad and rotor inspection, brake fluid flushes, and caliper servicing, can help prevent brake system problems and ensure reliable braking performance with the MG ZS.
MG ZS Electrical System Malfunctions
The electrical system of the MG ZS is responsible for powering various components and features, ranging from the lights and infotainment system to critical safety systems. While the MG ZS boasts modern electrical technology, some owners have encountered issues related to the electrical system that require attention to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
One common problem reported by MG ZS owners is intermittent electrical system malfunctions, including:
Dashboard warning lights: Owners may experience unexpected illumination of dashboard warning lights, indicating potential issues with various vehicle systems such as the engine, ABS, or airbags. These warning lights can signal underlying electrical faults or sensor malfunctions that require diagnostic evaluation.
Power window and door lock issues: Some owners have reported intermittent failures of power windows and door locks, where these components may become unresponsive or operate erratically. This can be caused by faulty wiring, switches, or motor mechanisms within the door panels.
Infotainment system glitches: Owners may encounter glitches or malfunctions with the infotainment system, such as freezing screens, unresponsive touch controls, or audio system failures. These issues can disrupt the driver’s ability to access essential functions like navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings.
Electrical wiring faults: Over time, wear and tear or manufacturing defects can lead to electrical wiring faults, resulting in short circuits, loose connections, or electrical fires. These faults can manifest as flickering lights, dimming interior illumination, or complete loss of power to certain vehicle systems.
If you notice any of these electrical system malfunctions in your MG ZS, it is advisable to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician with expertise in automotive electrical diagnostics. They can identify the root cause of the issue using specialized diagnostic equipment and perform necessary repairs or component replacements to restore proper electrical functionality. Additionally, regular maintenance and periodic electrical system inspections can help prevent potential malfunctions and ensure the continued reliability of the MG ZS electrical system.
Conclusion
The MG ZS is a popular choice among subcompact crossover SUVs, but like any vehicle, it is susceptible to common issues. By staying informed about these problems and taking proactive measures to address them, MG ZS owners can ensure a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience. Regular maintenance, timely repairs, and adherence to manufacturer guidelines are key to maximizing the longevity and reliability of the MG ZS.

Legacy of a Dream Ch 3
External: A03
Chapter: 3/4
Summary: One night a vision from the Crimson Dragon spurs Crow into looking into Pearson's death. As his student he feels he should find out the truth. At the end of it all, will he figure out how to continue Pearson's legacy?
Crow woke up feeling refreshed this time. Though his face still looked ghastly. No visions disturbed his sleep this time. Talking to his brothers made him feel better. Which is a good sign. He doesn’t think he ever processed Pearson’s death. He knows the man is dead. But he never really let himself feel anything regarding it.
Unfortunately his looks did not match his mood. The dark rings were made worse by his red eyes and puffy cheeks from crying. Seems like he will be spending extra time in the bathroom.
When he arrived in the garage, his brothers turned their gaze to him. Crow averts his eyes from them. Yesterday he let his emotions get the best of him and lashed out.
“Umm….”
How are you feeling?” Yusei asked.
“Better. I guess.” Crow sheepishly.
Yusei was still adamant that the trio needed to visit Martha. He was letting either of his brothers back out of it.
Around mid-day Trudge and Mina had arrived. Goodness crow had never been so happy to see a cop. The trio went outside.
“You look awef-” Trudges remark received him a jab from Mina. “Fully good. Did you use a new hair gel brand?”
Trudge’s quick course correction earned a sign from Mina and an eye roll from Crow.
“So, we found some information about your friend.” From his pocket trudge pulled out a card wrapped in cloth and kept in a case. Crow carefully unwrapped it, reveling a dark attribute synchro monster card. “It is called Crimson Mefist.”
“It was part of an experiment to make cards deal real damage.” Mina explained. Crow had to not ask about why they were trying to do something that stupid. “Of course the experiment was canceled. Though two cards were never recovered.”
“From your description, this card fits the bill.” Trudge finished.
Crow looked at the card and it did resemble the monster in his dreams. If he could find the owner of this card, he finds the person who killed Pearson. But… just how was he supposed to do that? He felt like he was further from truth now.
“Thank you. This is a lot of help.” Crow said. Trudge and Mina were very busy, and he didn’t want to keep them too long.
Crow was starting to lose hope of ever finding who kill his mentor.
“Damn, you really invested in a useless student Pearson….” Crow wanted nothing more than to curl up into a ball and fade from existence. He couldn’t carry on his legacy. And now he couldn’t figure out who caused his death. “Maybe I should give up…. What more can I do?”
He realized that he had one more hope, Bolton. It was worth a try to see if he had any clues. It was time to pay a visit to their sponsor.
Crow arrived at Bolton’s company. With face all marked up it was no surprise he was getting weird looks inside the building. It was also no surprise when he was dragged out by security.
“Hey! I’m here to see Bolton!” Crow yelled as his butt met the ground.
“Yeah, and I have a date with Seto Kaiba.” The guard snarked. “Hit the road kid!”
“Crow!” Bolton stepped out the fancy car and walked up to the group. “Have you come to a decision?”
Crow gave the guard a smug look.
“This is no place to talk. Let’s go to my office.” The duo headed up the tower to Bolton’s office suite.
“Did your team agree to let my company sponsor them? If so, you all can bring your duel runner to our mechanics.” Bolton started.
“That’s great, but I am not here for that….” Crow looked around the office. He had never been somewhere so fancy before. “Um, I am looking into Pearson’s death.”
Bolton’s eyes went wide. “He died in a fire Crow. What is there to look in too?”
“I think it was a murder. Whoever did it had a card called the Crimson Mefist that caused real damage. It caused the fire that killed Pearson.” Crow explained.
Bolton could not believe what he was hearing.
“Listen Crow.” Bolton knitted his eyebrows together. “You should give up.”
Crow deflated.
“Where would we even start? This person could be anywhere.”
Every last bit of hope left Crow. Bolton wasn’t wrong and that made it all harsher.
“Let’s focus on the future. It’s what Pearson would want.”
Crow had no real leads. What was the point of continuing if everything was a dead end.
“You look a bit pale. Don’t let this take a toll on you.” Bolton said.
“I have to find out the truth. It’s the least I can do for being so useless.”
“Crow you are far from useless. You were a big help back then. The kids loved you just as much as Pearson.” Bolton said.
“Bolton you took Pearson’s legacy and turned it into this.” Crow gestured around the room. “Meanwhile all I could do was steal and run away from sector security.”
“I think you are downplaying yourself a lot. That duel runner you got. You made that yourself, right?” Bolton asked. Crow nodded. “You built it because Pearson taught you how to build a duel runner. You used what you learned to make it. No matter what, his legacy lives on in both of us.”
Bolton was right. Crow agreed with every word. These words were meant to make Crow give up. But it had the opposite effect. Taking Bolton’s words to heart made him want to find Pearson’s murderer.
“So let’s focus on the future.”
“I- I can’t. I really can’t. I have to fine out the truth.” Crow exhaled.
At this Bolton’s whole demeanor changed. “Be that way. I challenge you to a duel. If I win you have to give up on finding Pearson’s murderer.”
“What is your problem!?” Crow shouted. “I get it. Now that you are a big shot, you don’t care about your roots anymore. Sorry I bothered you.”
“You’ve got it wrong. I am doing this because I care about you. There is no use in worrying about this when it won’t change anything. I don’t want to see you run yourself into early grave over this. We can duel on the company track.”
“Fine. I’ll be there.” Crow spat out before storming out the building. He couldn’t believe Bolton. He was his closest friend, and he didn’t want to apprehend the person who killed his best friend. It was unbelievable to Crow. Well he agreed to the duel, so he has no choice but to win!
-
Today, Yusei, Jack, and Crow drove to former Satellite. They were going to hang out with the kids. When they arrived, they were immediately mobbed by the children. They were happy to see the brothers. It was a day filled with playing and helping Martha. Crow came outside just in time to see his brothers having fun with the kids.
“Jungle gym Jack!” Some of the kids were climbing on Jack and playing around him. Yusei was off to the side playing duel monsters with one of the boys. The sight brought a smile to Crow’s face. It brought back memories with Pearson and Bolton.
“Crow.” Yusei’s voice brought him back to reality.
“Oh sorry, I spaced out.” Crow said.
“Are you still thinking that you failed?” Yusei asked.
“Yus…. All I could do after Pearson died; all I could do was steal cards to make the kids happy. Bolton took Pearson’s legacy and turned it into a duel runner factory.”
“I don’t think you failed. Crow, you give them hope.” Yusei said.
“Crow!” The kids called out to him. Waving at him to come over and join the fun.
“You are continuing Pearson legacy wonderfully. You give them the smiles of hope.” Yusei turned to face Crow. “There is no need to feel ashamed. You should follow the past you believe in.”
Crow had a lot to think about. Right now, he had to focus on a path that would lead him to the truth of Pearson’s death. From then, he feels it will all fall into place.

Complete Guide to Brake Pad Replacement Costs: What You Should Know
Are you hearing that telltale squealing sound every time you hit the brakes? Or perhaps you've noticed your brake pedal feeling a bit spongy lately? It might be time to replace your brake pads. But before you dive into the process, it's essential to understand the costs associated with brake pad replacement.
In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know about brake pad replacement costs, so you can make informed decisions about maintaining your vehicle without breaking the bank.
Understanding Brake Pad Replacement Costs
Brake pad replacement costs can vary widely depending on several factors, including your vehicle make and model, the type of brake pads you choose, labor charges, and more. Let's break down these factors to give you a clearer picture:
Vehicle Make and Model: Different vehicles have different braking systems, and the cost of brake pad replacement can vary accordingly. Luxury or high-performance vehicles often require specialized brake pads, which can be more expensive than those used in standard vehicles.
Type of Brake Pads: Brake pads come in various materials, each with its own benefits and costs. Ceramic brake pads, for example, are known for their durability and performance but tend to be more expensive than organic or metallic pads.
Labor Costs: The amount you'll pay for labor can vary depending on your mechanic's hourly rate and the complexity of the job. Some vehicles may require more time and expertise to replace the brake pads, leading to higher labor charges.
Brake Pad Brand: Like any automotive part, brake pads are available in different brands and quality levels. Premium brands may come with a higher price tag but can offer better performance and longevity, potentially saving you money in the long run.
Average Brake Pad Replacement Costs
While it's challenging to provide an exact cost for brake pad replacement due to the variables involved, here are some average estimates to give you a rough idea:
Economy/Standard Brake Pads: Generally the most affordable option, economy or standard brake pads are suitable for everyday driving needs. They offer decent performance and durability at a lower cost compared to premium options.
Mid-Range Brake Pads: Mid-range brake pads strike a balance between affordability and performance. They may offer slightly better braking performance and longevity compared to economy pads, making them a popular choice for many drivers.
Premium/High-Performance Brake Pads: Premium or high-performance brake pads are engineered for superior stopping power, durability, and performance, making them ideal for high-performance vehicles or demanding driving conditions. While they come with a higher price tag, they often deliver better overall value in terms of performance and longevity.
Tips for Saving Money on Brake Pad Replacement
Looking to minimize your brake pad replacement costs? Here are some tips to help you save money:
Consider DIY: If you're handy with tools and have some mechanical know-how, you might consider replacing the brake pads yourself. However, be sure to research the process thoroughly and follow proper safety precautions.
Shop Around: Don't settle for the first quote you receive. Shop around and get estimates from multiple mechanics or auto shops to find the best deal.
Explore Aftermarket Options: While OEM brake pads are often recommended, aftermarket options can be more affordable without sacrificing quality. Just be sure to choose reputable brands.
Stay on Top of Maintenance: Regular brake inspections and maintenance can help prevent costly repairs down the line. Addressing issues early can save you money in the long run.

7 Common Repair Problems Mini Cooper Owners Face
Owning a Mini Cooper is a unique experience. These iconic cars are known for their compact size, quirky designs, and spirited driving dynamics. However, like any vehicle, Mini Coopers are not immune to repair issues.
In this blog, we’ll explore seven common repair problems that Mini Cooper owners often encounter. Whether you’re a seasoned Mini enthusiast or a newcomer to the brand, understanding these issues can help you maintain your car’s performance and reliability.
Mini Cooper Electrical System Problems
Mini Coopers are equipped with advanced electrical systems to power various features such as entertainment systems, lights, and sensors. However, electrical gremlins are a common headache for Mini owners. Issues like malfunctioning power windows, faulty sensors, and intermittent warning lights can arise due to wiring faults, blown fuses, or software glitches. While some problems can be resolved with basic troubleshooting, others may require professional diagnosis and repair.
Mini Cooper Ac System Leak Problems
Mini Coopers are known for their efficient and compact engine designs, but they can be prone to cooling system leaks. Leaking coolant can lead to overheating, engine damage, and costly repairs if not addressed promptly. Common culprits include worn gaskets, cracked hoses, and faulty water pumps. Regular inspection of the cooling system and timely replacement of worn components can help prevent major issues down the road.
Mini Cooper Clutch and Transmission Problems
The manual transmission is a hallmark of the Mini driving experience, but it can also be a source of headaches for owners. Clutch wear and transmission issues are common, especially in older models or those subjected to aggressive driving habits. Symptoms may include slipping gears, grinding noises, or difficulty shifting. Proper clutch maintenance and avoiding rough gear changes can help prolong the life of these components.
Mini Cooper Oil Leaks and Engine Seals
Mini Coopers are known for their peppy engines, but they can develop oil leaks over time. Engine oil leaks can occur due to worn seals, gaskets, or damaged components. Common leak points include the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and crankshaft seal. Regular oil checks and timely repairs are essential to prevent engine damage and maintain optimal performance.
Mini Cooper Suspension and Steering Problems
Mini Coopers are praised for their nimble handling, but worn suspension and steering components can compromise driving dynamics and safety. Common problems include worn bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends, which can cause excessive play, uneven tire wear, and poor handling. Regular suspension inspections and timely replacement of worn parts can help restore the Mini’s agile handling characteristics.
Mini Cooper Brake System Problems
Reliable brakes are crucial for safe driving, but Mini Cooper owners may encounter brake system faults from time to time. Common issues include worn brake pads, warped rotors, and brake fluid leaks. Symptoms may include squealing noises, pulsating brake pedal, or reduced stopping power. Regular brake inspections and maintenance can help ensure optimal braking performance and safety on the road.
Mini Cooper Exterior Trim and Bodywork Problems
Mini Coopers are known for their distinctive styling, but owners may encounter issues with exterior trim and bodywork. Faded paint, rust spots, and loose trim pieces are common complaints, especially in older models or those exposed to harsh weather conditions. Proper care and maintenance, such as regular washing and waxing, can help preserve the Mini’s iconic appearance and prevent cosmetic issues.

A Guide to Overcoming Common Vauxhall Car Problems
Vauxhall has long been a trusted name in the automotive industry, producing reliable and stylish vehicles for decades. However, like any other car brand, Vauxhall cars are not immune to common issues that can arise over time.
In this comprehensive guide, we will explore some of the typical problems faced by Vauxhall owners and provide practical solutions to overcome them.
Electrical Gremlins:
One of the common issues reported by Vauxhall car owners is related to electrical components. From malfunctioning lights to issues with the central locking system, electrical gremlins can be frustrating. To tackle this problem, start by checking the fuses and relays. If you’re not comfortable doing this yourself, seek professional help. Regularly inspect and replace faulty bulbs, and consider investing in a quality diagnostic tool to identify and address electrical issues promptly.
Faulty Ignition Coils:
Many Vauxhall models are prone to ignition coil failures, leading to rough idling, misfires, and a decrease in overall performance. If you experience these symptoms, it’s advisable to replace the faulty ignition coil promptly. Regular maintenance, such as changing spark plugs and ensuring a clean air filter, can also contribute to preventing ignition coil problems.
Timing Belt Troubles:
The timing belt is a critical component in the engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft. Over time, the timing belt can wear out, leading to serious engine damage if it breaks. Vauxhall owners should adhere to the recommended replacement intervals provided in the vehicle’s manual. Regular inspections and timely replacements can prevent costly engine repairs and keep your car running smoothly.
Clutch and Gearbox Issues:
Some Vauxhall models may experience clutch and gearbox problems, including difficulty in shifting gears or a slipping clutch. Regularly check the clutch fluid levels and ensure that the gearbox oil is at the recommended level. If you notice any unusual noises or difficulties in gear engagement, consult with a professional mechanic for a thorough inspection and potential repairs.
Cooling System Challenges:
Overheating issues are not uncommon in Vauxhall cars, often caused by a malfunctioning thermostat, a faulty radiator, or a leaking coolant system. Regularly check the coolant levels and inspect for any signs of leaks. If your car is prone to overheating, consider flushing and replacing the coolant at the recommended intervals. Additionally, ensure that the radiator and cooling fans are working correctly.
Suspension Woes:
Vauxhall owners may encounter problems with the suspension system, resulting in a bumpy ride and poor handling. Regularly inspect the shock absorbers, struts, and other suspension components for signs of wear or damage. If you notice any unusual noises or a decrease in ride comfort, consult with a professional mechanic to address the issue promptly.
Brake System Challenges:
Brake-related problems can compromise the safety of your Vauxhall car. Issues such as squeaking or grinding noises, reduced braking efficiency, or a spongy brake pedal should not be ignored. Regularly check the brake pads, discs, and brake fluid levels. Replace worn-out brake components and seek professional assistance for brake system inspections to ensure optimal performance.

You Win My Love - A Lindsey Horan Imagine
A/N: The second installment in my Shania Twain series! Based off “You Win My Love”
Lindsey, Sonnett, Rose, Mal, and Sam stepped out of the van and looked around.
“Who’s supposed to be meeting us here?” Sam asked.
“One of the execs, I think. I’ve never met him, so I don’t know what he looks like,” Mal answered. Just then a tall man in a suit appeared in front of them.
“Hello, ladies! We’re so glad you could make it,” He shook each of their hands, “I’m Jack Bolton, I trust you’re all aware of what is going to happen today?”
“You’re giving us a tour and introducing us to some drivers and then we’re watching the race, all while the media crew films us so that they can post a video that’s going to bring everyone publicity,” Lindsey said.
“Yes, exactly,” Jack said, “It’s all rather exploitative, I know, but sponsors, CEOs, you know the deal. They say jump and I say yes sir.” Lindsey grinned a little. She was already enjoying herself.
Jack led them through the clubhouse and showed them the common areas and the specific sections for each crew. He led them outside to the racetrack, where some drivers were practicing for the upcoming race.
“This is where the pit crew stays during the race when they’re not needed at the pit stops,” Jack gestured to an area a little ways back from the track, “During a race, they’re monitoring their driver and making sure there’s no problems with their cars or their tires, and when a driver enters the pit, they’re responsible for changing the tires, filling up gas, fixing any engine problems, and making sure the driver is okay and good to continue.”
“You’re boring them, Jack,” A voice came from behind them. Jack turned around and grinned.
“Do you want to take over, Y/N?” Jack asked. Y/N laughed and shook her head.
“Nah, gotta get ready for tonight.”
“Ladies, this is Y/N Y/L/N, one of our best racers.”
“One of?” Y/N asked, “What is this? Jack, I’m the best racer, or do you need to see all my trophies again?” Jack laughed and shook his head before he introduced the group.
“Ah, soccer players,” Y/N said, “Pleased to meet you all.”
“You’re the best?” Rose asked.
“Yeah, for sure. Especially tonight. This race is full of rookies and oldsters, I’m pretty much guaranteed a win.”
“So why are you bothering to race? Why aren’t you at the… Indy 500?” Lindsey asked. Y/N laughed.
“Because that’s not for a couple weeks,” Y/N said, “I’m just here because Jack asked me to, I don’t normally come to these races, but apparently big racers bring more viewers and… honestly I’m just looking for some practice before I take on the real competition.”
“We’ll see about the competition,” Lindsey said. Y/N laughed before she said goodbye and left the group with Jack.
“Now, if you’ll come this way, ladies…”
***
“Looks like I won after all.”
Lindsey turned around and saw Y/N heading toward her, trophy in her hand. Lindsey crossed her arms.
“You got lucky,” Lindsey said, “That other guy was totally gonna win if he didn’t hit the wall in the last lap.” Y/N laughed.
“While that may be true, I did still win,” Y/N held the trophy out, “Wanna hold it? Maybe get a picture for your Instagram or something?” Lindsey agreed, trading her phone for the trophy and letting Y/N take a few pictures.
“You live in Portland, right?” Y/N asked after she handed Lindsey’s phone back. “You play for the Thorns, I mean.”
“Yeah, I live there during the season, but I live in Denver during the offseason. If I have one.”
Y/N laughed. “I feel that. I live in Portland too. I’m supposed to live in Portland, but I travel so much it feels like it’s just another stop on the road.”
“It’s hard to settle down in a city when you’re constantly being taken somewhere else,” Lindsey said.
“I know, right? Man, one thing I’m looking forward to when I retire is just staying in one place for longer than two weeks.”
Y/N and Lindsey kept talking, about Portland, about traveling, about their careers, families, everything. Lindsey wasn’t expecting to like the seemingly cocky racer, but Y/N, up close, away from the cameras and the fans, was genuine and down to earth and clammed up when Lindsey brought up her prolific career. Lindsey thought she might actually… like Y/N, maybe.
“Yo, Linessi!” Sonnett yelled, “We gotta go! Quit flirting!” Lindsey blushed furiously.
“I’m so sorry about her, she’s an idiot,” Lindsey said.
“No worries, we all have friends like that,” Y/N said, “It was nice to meet you Lindsey,” Y/N touched Lindsey’s arm lightly, sending tingles up Lindsey’s arm, “I hope I get to see you again.”
“Let me know the next time you’re in Portland,” Lindsey said.
“Will do.”
***
Lindsey posted the photo as soon as she got back to the hotel. She didn’t tag Y/N, but she did tag Jack and the racetrack. A few minutes later, Lindsey heard her phone ding. She looked at it and saw that Y/N DM’ed her on Instagram.
yourusername: What? No tag? You do know who’s trophy you’re holding
Lindsey laughed before she replied.
lindseyhoran10: didn’t want it to go to your head
also its been what? 5 minutes? eager to talk to me again or something
yourusername: Something like that
what are you doing next week? I’m in Portland for a couple of days
lindseyhoran10: I might be free
have to check my schedule
yourusername: Great! It’s a date
***
Next week, Lindsey was sitting in her apartment, waiting for Y/N to come pick her up. She didn’t know what to expect. Y/N told her to dress casual, but other than that, Y/N hadn’t told her anything about what they were doing. So, Lindsey was wearing jeans and a tank top, with a jacket on top. Y/N had said it was a date, but Lindsey wasn’t sure if she was joking or not. She didn’t have time to overthink before there was a knock at her door. She quickly opened it to reveal Y/N, wearing jeans and a leather jacket.
“Hey there,” Y/N said, “You ready?” Lindsey nodded, following Y/N outside and to her car. Lindsey snorted when she saw what Y/N was driving.
“What?” Y/N asked.
“You’re a big fancy race car driver and you’re driving a pickup truck.”
“Well, yeah. Sorry we don’t all drive BMWs like you soccer players,” Y/N said, “If you don’t like it, I can switch to another car. I’ve got a Ferrari sitting in my garage collecting dust.”
“You have a Ferrari and you’re driving this piece of junk?”
“It’s not a piece of junk! It has character!” Y/N insisted, “Look, I put on new hubcaps, a new bumper, I really spiced up the engine and the stereo in this baby is like nothing you’ll find in those BMWs, trust me,” Y/N looked up at Lindsey who was still looking unimpressed. “Fine, I’ll go get the Ferrari. But if I’m driving her, I’m gonna show you some tricks,” Y/N grinned.
Lindsey didn’t know what Y/N meant by “tricks”, but she wasn’t expecting Y/N to turn into an empty, gated, dark parking lot after they switched to one of Y/N’s fancier cars. Y/N was quick to unlock the gate and drive them in. Lindsey looked around suspiciously, not sure what she had gotten herself into.
“Okay, hold tight, I’ll be right back,” With a flash, Y/N was out of the car and running across to a small shed. Soon, the parking lot was flooded with light, Y/N gave Lindsey a thumbs up and then ran back.
“I was thinking you brought me here to kill me,” Lindsey said when Y/N was back in the car.
“Nah, just wanna show off for you,” Y/N said, “It’s illegal to do tricks on public roads, so that’s why we had to come here.”
“Isn’t this trespassing?”
“It’s not trespassing when you own it,” Y/N grinned, “Now hold tight.”
Lindsey didn’t have a chance to ask what Y/N meant, before Y/N was speeding off in the parking lot, doing donuts and other high-speed maneuvers. Lindsey was gripping the handle above her door as tight as she could, but Y/N was laughing, seamlessly transitioning from one trick to the next and soon, Lindsey’s grip relaxed and she started laughing too. Finally, Y/N slowed to a stop.
“How was that? Did you have fun?” Y/N eyes shone as she looked at Lindsey.
“Maybe we should’ve just driven the truck,” Lindsey said.
“Oh, come on, admit it, that was fun!”
Lindsey rolled her eyes. “Okay, fine. It was fun, once I realized we weren’t gonna die.”
“Then come on, hop out and I’ll teach you some,” Y/N said.
“What? No, Y/N, I–” Lindsey tried to protest was Y/N was already out of the car and holding the keys for Lindsey to take. “Look, I really don’t think I should do this, I’m really not that good of a driver,” Lindsey said as she got behind the wheel.
“It’ll be fine, I promise. I’ll tell you what to do, okay?” Y/N said, “Nothing bad is gonna happen, trust me, I’m a professional. We’ll start off on the easy ones, just follow my instructions.”
Lindsey, as she expected, was not a very good driver. She was fine driving like a normal person on city streets, but this was something else. For some reason, even the simple instructions Y/N was giving felt like the most complicated thing in the world. Lindsey wanted to give up when Y/N convinced her to give it one more try. Lindsey felt a surge of adrenaline as she made (almost) one full donut. She stopped and looked at Y/N, who was grinning as much as she was.
“I did it!”
“You did it!” Y/N high-fived Lindsey. “You wanna try any more?” Suddenly, the keys were out of the ignition and thrown on Y/N’s lap and Lindsey was at the passenger side door waiting for Y/N to get back in the drivers seat. Y/N laughed as she moved over.
“Okay, that’s a no.”
***
“Linds, why are you dragging us into the middle of redneck country? I don’t wanna get hit on by some sexist jerk,” Rose complained as she followed Lindsey through the entrance.
“It’s not that bad, Rose,” Lindsey said, “NASCAR is cool, it’s not just rednecks anymore.” Rose grimaced as a drunk man wearing an American flag tank top ran by, screaming.
“Right, not just rednecks,” Rose muttered.
“Oh, come on Linds, we all know you’re here for that hot racer chick you’ve been flirting with,” Sonnett said.
“It’s not just for her,” Lindsey said defensively, “And we’re not flirting.”
“Don’t lie to us Linds, we know you and that hottie–”
“Look! Our seats are this way!” Lindsey said loudly as she pushes through the crowd.
“Is this supposed to be interesting?” Rose whispered to Sonnett as they watched the cars circle the track.
“I don’t know,” Sonnett whispered back, “I don’t even know which one Y/N is.”
“Whichever one Lindsey’s staring at,” Rose mumbled, watching as Lindsey leaned closer to the edge as one car drove by, “That one.”
“Why couldn’t she have just invited her to a game rather than drag us down here?”
“I can hear you two,” Lindsey said.
“So why did you bring us here?”
“I’m not sitting in the middle of redneck country by myself.”
“I told you it was redneck country!” Rose said, “I told you!”
“Whatever Rose, I– Look! She’s about to win! Go! Yes!” Lindsey jumped to her feet as Y/N’s car crossed the finish line before the others.
“Great, she won, can we go now?” Rose asked.
“We have to go meet up with her and say congrats, come on,” Lindsey grabbed Sonnett’s arm and pulled her out of her seat, and Sonnett grabbed Rose’s arm so she would be pulled along too.
Lindsey pulled the two through the crowds, pushing everyone out of her way. Sonnett and Rose stumbled behind her, apologizing to everyone Lindsey pushed over. Finally, Lindsey stopped in front of a security guard, and Sonnett and Rose doubled over behind her, trying to catch their breath. Lindsey flashed a VIP pass to the guard and Sonnett and Rose were being pulled again.
“Hey!” Y/N said as the three came into her sights.
“Hey,” Lindsey said, blushing.
“Congrats on the win,” Sonnett said.
“Thanks!” Y/N said, “I’m glad you guys could make it.”
“Oh yeah, real glad,” Rose muttered.
“Hey,” Y/N turned to Lindsey, “I won.”
“You did.”
“Does that mean I can get whatever I want?” Y/N raised her eyebrows.
“That depends on what it is,” Lindsey said.
“I think I should, I won so I should get a reward,” Y/N said, “You wanna hear what I want?” Lindsey nodded. “I want you to be my girlfriend.” Lindsey grinned.
“I guess it’s only fair, I mean you did win, so I guess I can be your girlfriend,” Lindsey said.
“You seriously dragged us all the way here in the heat and the humidity and… Southerners, just to pick up a girl? You owe me big time Lindsey Horan! You owe me!”

The Big Game
Modern AU where Jim Hopper is at your parent’s house for a Super Bowl party. That isn’t a plot so much as it is a very flimsy excuse for me to write out some dirty thoughts I have after seeing this photo of David Harbour looking like an absolute DILF.
Content Warnings: Rated M for age gap, kissing, over-the-clothes touching, a bit of Daddy kink, a little physical intimidation. All that good stuff. Female Reader. Slightly OOC for the sake of funsies. 1.6k words.
Tagging @t-u-m-s. Anyone else want to be tagged when I post something new? Let me know.
“I know you said not to bring anything,” you announce as you walk into your parents’ house from the garage, “but mom told me the doctor said you should be watching your diet.” You place the tray of vegetables on the kitchen counter and turn towards the living room. “So I brought you some ve-” your words are cut off by the sight of an unfamiliar man sitting on the couch.
He’s wearing jeans, a dark grey polo shirt, and a black baseball cap that’s on backward. Just his profile alone is stunning. Thick eyebrows, an adorably pointy nose, and a strong jaw covered by a short, scruffy beard. He turns to look at you and it feels as if your heart stops.
“Hopper, you’ve met my daughter before, right?” your father says as he stands up from the chair to greet you.
“No,” the man answers coldly, eyes now fixed on the tv.
Your father comes into the kitchen and gives you a hug. “That was very nice of you, sweetie, but your mom’s been making me eat vegetables every day. This is the Super Bowl. All I want today is wings and potato skins.”
You hear his words clearly but they don’t register in your head. You’re much too distracted by this Hopper person you’ve never seen or even heard about before.
“Where’s everybody else?” you wonder aloud.
“They’re not here yet. This is just the pregame stuff,” your father clarifies.
Hopper glances at you again and you feel like you’re melting as you lean into the countertop. He’s so hot. Nothing like the boys you go to school with. Nothing like a boy at all. He is one hundred percent man.
“You wanna get a snack and join us?” your father requests in a jovial tone.
“Um, I have to, uh, put this other stuff away,” you point to the bag of groceries on the floor next to you.
“Oh, right,” your father acknowledges.
“Where’s mom?”
“Getting a couple of last-minute things for the party. She’ll be back soon.”
You roll your eyes. “I told her I would do that.”
“You know your mother, “ he says, walking back into the living room. “She never listens.”
You take a moment to admire Hopper before removing the food you’ve purchased from the bag. His arms are tantalizing, with the type of muscle not built from going to the gym, but from moving furniture, fixing cars, and other forms of manual labor. Seeing the veins in his hand as he drinks a bottle of beer makes you lick your lips. You can’t stop yourself from shooting him more glances as you finish putting the remainder of the groceries in their rightful place.
There’s no way you can sit in there with that gorgeous man and pretend to be calm or make casual conversation. Instead, you slowly and carefully make your way upstairs to your bedroom, or rather, what used to be your bedroom before you started college. Leaning against the inside of the door and taking a deep breath, you pull your phone from your pocket to distract you.
Your mother arrives about ten minutes later, with a football-shaped ice cream cake, and you admonish her appropriately. Soon after, more people show up to the party and the game starts.
With increasing frequency, your eyes drift over to the handsome stranger still on the couch, and within time, his begin to drift towards you as well. You try to keep busy by topping off people’s drinks, refilling the chip bowls, and putting more snacks in the oven but it’s ultimately no use. You can’t avert your gaze for longer than 5 minutes at the most.
Every time you catch him looking at you, heat rises in your chest and radiates out through your limbs. Under normal circumstances, you would welcome this feeling, but with so many sets of eyes surrounding you, the feeling is almost embarrassing. You don’t know how much more of it you can take and you have to get out of there. Not necessarily out of the house, but just away from Hopper.
During a detergent commercial, you try to sneak back upstairs. When your mother asks where you’re going, you tell her that you’re not feeling well and you need to lie down. It is at least partially the truth.
Sitting down on the small bed, you begin to scroll through Instagram to get your mind off of him and you quickly lose track of time. A while later, you hear someone ascending the staircase. Standing in the doorway of your room and looking down the hall, you see Hopper’s impossibly long legs lumbering up the steps.
“What are you doing up here?” you question quietly.
“It’s halftime,” he declares as he closes the space in between your bodies. His scent is so manly, like tobacco and aftershave.
You take a step back. “Don’t you want to see...whoever it is that’s performing?”
“No,” he answers, entering the room. “I want to see you.” His voice is low and deep, causing your thighs to gently quiver.
“H-Hopper, right?” you stammer, breath getting caught in your throat.
“You can call me Jim,” he offers. It's not until you're this close up to him that you see how incredible his eyes are. They're such an unusually dark shade of blue.
“Okay...Jim.” You can feel your cheeks flush as you utter his name.
He looks around and takes a sip of his beer. “Is this your old room?”
“Yeah,” you answer, “haven’t lived here in years though.”
“Who’s Troy?” he asks you with a slight chuckle.
You give him a confused expression, completely unaware of who or what he’s referring to. He points to the wall behind you and you turn your head to look.
“Oh,” you laugh nervously, seeing your old Troy Bolton poster. “It’s Zac Efron. I used to have a crush on him.”
He nods his head in recognition.
“My tastes have…matured since then though.”
“Have they?” he asks with his curiosity piqued.
You nod vigorously as he approaches you like a lion stalking a young gazelle. Attempting to be coy, you back away, until your legs hit the bed and there’s nowhere else to go.
He puts his beer bottle on the nightstand. “What’s your taste in men like now?”
“Older,” you admit, looking up into his beautiful eyes.
“How much older?” His hands clasp around either side of your waist.
“I don’t know,” you answer breathlessly as your hands move up to his shoulders. “About 20 years?”
As soon as the words are out of your mouth, his lips are on yours in a fiery kiss. Something about this feels wrong, but at the same time, oh so right. You do have a genuine preference for older men, but one that’s friends with your father is really pushing it. As much as you hate to admit it, part of that excites you. It turns you on that he’s in his 40’s and there are a dozen or so people downstairs who could catch you two together at any moment.
Your mouth gasps against his when he shoves you backward and you both fall onto the twin-sized bed. He tastes like beer, a flavor you’re not fond of, but the absolute last thing you want to do right now is to stop. Suddenly, his left hand pulls your hair, yanking your head to the side to give his mouth better access to your neck. He kisses and sucks your sensitive skin there, making you squirm with equal parts pleasure and arousal.
“Oh, Daddy,” you breathe as he nibbles on your earlobe.
“Did you just call me Daddy?” he whispers.
“Yes,” you confess. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry. I liked it.”
You moan as his teeth graze your skin. The way he’s biting and sucking on you, it feels like he’s going to leave a mark, and at this point, you don’t even care. You don’t care about anything at all other than the way your body feels underneath him and his wanton mouth.
Another moan tumbles from your lips as run your fingers up his hairy forearms and grasp onto his biceps.
“Not so loud, huh? They’re gonna hear us.”
“You should have shut the door,” you reprimand halfheartedly. The sensation of his beard scratching the flesh over your collarbone has you pushing your hips into him.
“Too late for that now,“ he dismisses as his palm presses just below the zipper on your jeans.
Again you let out a moan, this one strained as you try and fail to be quiet.
“Why haven’t I seen you here before?” he inquires, his fingers now massaging against the denim.
“I’ve been at school,” you pant out.
“Well, you’re just going to have to come over here more often, aren’t you?” he prompts.
“Yes, Daddy!” you moan as the fingers of his free hand start to slide up the back of your t-shirt towards your bra.
“Hey, Hopper. You up there?” your father calls from downstairs.
Slapping a hand down on his head to keep his hat in place, Hopper jumps up from the bed and sprints to the door. “Yeah, I’m, uh, just looking for the bathroom.”
In a daze, you close your eyes and stay on the bed. It’s not until now that you notice how much your blood is pumping and your heart is pounding. With a resigned whimper, you realize that you’re aching with an overwhelming need left by his immense hand rubbing you through your jeans.
“Hurry up. The game is about to start again.” The sound of your father’s voice is a massive buzzkill.
“I’ll see you later, alright?” Hopper suggests to you as he stands in the doorway.
You don’t know what that means exactly but you’re looking forward to finding out. “Alright,” you sigh.

The Rainbow Brigade Goes To Pride
Julie giggled into the microphone as she watched her best friends jump and dance along to their song, draping an arm around her boyfriend's shoulder as they belted the outro and Bright ended.
"Yes! That was amazing!" Flynn grinned, always the one to hype up their best friend.
"But was it 'performing at a cafe' amazing, or 'performing at tomorrow's Pride parade' amazing?" Julie asked, and Luke rolled his eyes fondly and reached up to tuck a curl behind Julie's ear.
"Definitely 'Pride parade' amazing, estrella." He promised her and pressed a kiss to her cheek.
Julie blushed and scrunched her nose as Alex, Reggie, Bobby, Willie, Nick, Carrie and the Dirty Candy crew immediately agreed.
"I'm a much harsher judge than your darling Luke, and I can confirm it was flawless." Carrie assured Julie with a grin.
Julie chuckled fondly and shook her head, rolling her eyes. "If you all insist."
"We do. Now," Willie clapped their hands, clasping them together. "I request to hear Now Or Never."
"Ooh, I second the request!" Carrie nodded.
"Third!"
"Fourth!"
"Your wish is our command." Luke smiled and Alex counted to start the song, everyone smiling as Ray walked in with a snack and water tray.
"Hey, kids."
"Hi, Mr. Molina!"
"Hi, papa!"
Ray grinned as he walked through the door in time to catch a song and leaned against the wall, lip syncing along.
Julie and the boys rehearsed the song and stopped for a water break, chatting about how excited they all were to be performing at something as big as a Pride parade. It was a pretty damn huge thing for everyone.
No one slept that night, too wired to even think about it.
Julie grinned as she looked up and turned off her phone alarm, running to open Carlos and her parents' bedroom doors. "Happy Pride!" She grinned as she ran back to her room and opened her laptop to Zoom. Soon, she had Flynn, Willie, Nick, Carrie, her girls, and her boys on screen as she ran to grab her hair products. "Hey, my people!"
"Hey, superstar! Boys. Rapunzel. Blond Troy Bolton. Twilight Sparkle. Biliam. Flynnigan. Candy Stripers." Luke grinned and blew a kiss, in the middle of changing into his POISON t shirt.
"Hey, Julianna! Lucas. Alexander. Robert. William. Nicholas. Caroline. Flynnie. Crew." Reggie grinned as he combed his hair and waved.
"Hi, Julie! Ladies. Love of my life. Boys. Willie-boo." Carrie grinned as she brushed her wig out to re-curl it later.
"Hey, Jules! Sweets. Gigi. Lexi. Lulu. Chaos crew." Bobby winked as he sprayed on deodorant.
"Hi, Julie! Candy canes. Boys. Partners in crime." Flynn smiled, braiding pink, white and orange ribbon into their hair.
"Hello, Julie. Luke. Reginald. Bobbles. Flynn-tastic. Care-bear. Nicky. Honeybunch. Candy fruits." Alex smiled before downing a glass of orange juice.
"Hey, Julie! Hot dog. PeterPatter. Chaos siblings. Sweethearts." Willie waved, braiding rainbow ribbons into his hair.
"Julie. Ladies. Boys. Enby buds." Nick waved, combing his hair.
"Julie. Ladies. Men. Non-binary friends." Kayla blew a kiss, popping a gummy vitamin in her mouth.
"Hi, Julie! Candy crew. Chaos children." Halle grinned, brushing the bangs of her wig.
"Hey, my darlings!" Sofia grinned, waving as she nibbled on her toast.
"Hi, gayngels!" Kyra giggled, flipping her pancakes.
"How are the members of The Rainbow Brigade on this fine day, my loves?" Julie asked as she combed her curls. She laughed as everyone started to answer the question at the same time, resuming her hair combing.
"All good here, Julie." Flynn answered once she stopped giggling.
"Here as well." Willie gave a thumbs up.
"Almost perfect but I'm all out of eyeliner." Reggie pouted.
"Oh, no! You can use mine, then." Julie promised.
"Sweet! Thanks, Jules." Reggie grinned gratefully.
"About as good as it's gonna get in the Patterson household." Luke shrugged. "Sparkle, Bobble?"
"All is well in the Wilson mansion, loves." Carrie grinned, looking up when she heard a knock on the door. "Yeah, daddy?" She asked once she opened it.
"Hi, baby. Hi, kids!" Trevor grinned and waved.
"Hi, Mr. Wilson!" Julie called and everyone else followed.
"So remind me of the carpooling situation?"
"Oh, we're gonna pick up my girls and Luke, Alex, and Reggie since their parents still dislike Luke and Bobby for 'corrupting their babies' and Nick only has room in his car to pick up Flynn and Willie and we're all going to Julie's to get ready together."
"Oh, ok. I'm gonna go pack all our bags with snacks and water, then. Breakfast is almost ready downstairs." Trevor smiled, walking out with a peace sign.
"Thanks for the ride, by the way." Reggie smiled.
"Hey, anything for my Gigi." Bobby promised.
Julie giggled, bringing her laptop downstairs to the kitchen where everyone was eating breakfast. "Hey, Carlos. Mom, dad! Say hey to the rainbow brigade!"
"Hey, brigade!"
"Hey, mijos, mijas." Ray grinned.
"Hey, babies!" Rose blew a quick kiss.
"Hi, Carlos! Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Molina! Looking good as always!"
"Thank you, Carrie. Julie, do you want some eggs? They're scrambled."
"Ooh, yes please." Julie nodded and then a plate of eggs, toast and pancakes appeared in front of her. "Gracias, mama."
"Mind saving some eggs for me, amor?"
"Always, cariño."
Luke smiled appreciatively and blushed. "I love you."
Julie smiled, scrunching her nose. "I love you, too."
"Hey, hey. Keep your nauseating adorable-ness to your private Skype sessions." Reggie pretended to gag.
Carrie scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Like you and my brother don't act the same way." She pointed out.
"So do you and Flynn!" Willie accused.
"Willie, so do you and Lexi!" Flynn laughed.
"I would like to point out that so do Halle and Sofia." Nick chimed in.
"True." Kayla nodded in agreement.
"OK, anyone coming over for dinner tonight, niños? I'm making my famous pastelon!" Rose piped up as she appeared next to Julie and wrapped an arm around her, the both of them laughing.
Flynn raised a hand immediately. "Ooh, I'm in! Mom said she's gonna try another duck recipe and my stomach can't take that."
"Me, too!" Alex nodded.
"Noted." Julie nodded.
"Bobins, Care-bear, can I go to your place tonight? I'm not feeling up to week-old left overs." Reggie asked.
Bobby opened his door and poked his head out. "Dad, can Reggie come for dinner tonight? ...OK!" He closed the door with a smile. "Yup."
The group laughed as they chatted and ate their breakfasts, moving their conversation to the group chat as the others made their ways to the Molina household. The groups piled out of their cars and headed inside, greeting Julie and her family with tight hugs.
"Hey, my love." Luke said in a gentle voice and pressed a kiss to her forehead, making Julie blush and scrunch her nose.
"Hi, Lucas." Julie said softly and kissed his lips, giggling against him when she heard fake gags from Alex and Reggie. "Hi, Lexi-love. Reggie boo." She said as she wrapped her arms around them, taking their bags of clothes.
"Here's your eggs, mijo."
Luke grinned as Ray presented him a plate of eggs and some waffles as a treat. "Thank you." He nodded and started eating, leaning against a wall.
"Do I see new earrings, Mrs. Molina?" Carrie asked with a grin.
"Uh-huh. You like them?" Rose grinned, showing off her turquoise earrings.
"Love! They're so pretty!" Carrie nodded.
Julie smiled as she looked around and watched her family and her found family get along so well, joking and laughing with each other. She leaned her head onto Flynn's shoulder, her smile growing when Flynn wrapped an arm around her. "Having a good time, Flynnie?"
"Absolute blast."
After Luke finished his eggs, the group stampeded upstairs and formed a line to the bathroom to change into their Pride outfits. One by one, the brigade stepped in and out in new outfits and walked to the garage to have more room to start doing their make up.
Julie hummed as she and Reggie did their eyeliner next to each other, half listening to the boys talking about how cool it was that they were singing certain songs together for the first time.
"Sunset Curve's fans are gonna get to hear our oldest hits belted out by a little wrecking ball of talent, boys! It's only the single most exciting and awesome thing that can possibly happen!" Luke bragged in excitement, huffing as he was held down in his chair and Flynn and Carrie were glittering up his face.
"I know! Dude, it's so cool!" Alex nodded, glittering up his own face. "And it's even better that it's a- Kayla, your left wing's bigger." He interrupted himself to point to Kayla's make up. "A Pride parade!"
"Oh, shoot. Thanks, Lexi." Kayla smiled and proceeded to fix it with concealer.
"And you're totally gonna come out of this with new fans, too! Think of all the people that are gonna film it for YouTube and so many people are going to watch!" Willie gushed.
"I know!" Bobby nodded and pressed a kiss to Reggie's cheek, applying black eye shadow to his eyes.
"And imagine how much Dirty Candy are gonna love watching you all sing at Pride, too!" Julie grinned. "Maybe then they'll get the whole sparkly rainbow costumes thing."
"Oh, yeah!" The group laughed as they finished glittering up and fixing wigs, and piled into their cars to go to the parade.
Dirty Candy performed a few of their favorite self love songs to the crowd and gave a few speeches about self love, acceptance and Pride to the crowd, getting the response of cheers and pride flags thrown their ways. The girls individually thanked the crowd, and Carrie glanced off stage toward Sunset Curve before announcing the next artist. "And now, a group that always has been and always will be very special to me and my girls, and not just because they're our best friends... Sunset Curve!"
The crowd erupted in screams as the girls stepped off to let the band take the stage, and Luke smiled at them, giving a playful wink to a few boys and girls in the front holding bi and pan pride flags.
"Hi, everybody! Happy Pride month!" Julie greeted, her pink, purple and blue dress sparkling in the sunlight. "How about our girls, Dirty Candy, huh?" She chuckled as the crowd screamed in agreement and glanced at Bobby, who just smiled.
"The pink one is my sister."
"And they are too powerful together." Luke joked.
"They're so much to handle." Reggie complained with a smile.
"You say that like you and Julie aren't a lot." Alex deadpanned.
Julie laughed and shook her head. "Ok, ok. Enough joking. So our first song of the day is called Edge Of Great." She announced, and the crowd screamed and started to throw flags as she sang the intro. As the boys joined in the chorus, Julie hopped and ran around, laughing and joking with the boys.
Reggie and Bobby laughed as Julie hopped around them and draped bi and ace flags around their necks.
Julie giggled and bopped their noses, skipping off to share the mic with Luke. She kissed him at the end of the song and smiled when the crowd started chanting their ship name, leaning her head on his neck. "Yeah, yeah. We get it. We're cute." She joked and Luke cackled.
"You are pretty cute." Alex agreed with a shrug.
Julie snickered and blew a kiss to Alex who threw one back and sighed, giving Luke another kiss on the cheek before launching into a speech about pride featuring comments here and there from the boys. "Boys, what do you say to Stand Tall?" She asked.
"I say yes."
"Definitely."
"Absolutely."
"Obviously."
"Well, that's a unanimous yes!" Julie announced and headed to the piano to play the song. She smiled as she played one of her favorite songs, skipping her way toward Alex as his solo came up. She draped a rainbow flag over his shoulders like a cape and kissed his cheek.
Alex whispered a quick "Love you, Julie." in her ear and she whispered "I love you." back, tapping his cheek before the group nailed the high note.
They sang the final chorus and this time it was Luke who kicked off a speech about doing what makes you happy, with Julie making a comment about Alex dating Willie even with his staunch Christian parents.
"Willie's actually here today. He's right over there." Julie pointed a thumb in the direction of Willie who blew a kiss at Alex. "Alex's parents aren't great, but Willie's grandparents are pretty cool." She chuckled.
"And that's Julie's best friend and Carrie's girlfriend, Flynn is right next to him." Reggie piped up. "Hey, Flynn."
Julie beamed as she walked toward Bobby and put an arm around him. "So this is a song is one that my boys wrote together, before I came into the picture, that they have so graciously transposed into my key so we can all sing it together-"
"Because we love you!" Bobby interrupted.
"And your voice is incredible!" Alex yelled.
"And we wanted to include you!" Luke insisted.
"Yeah, what they said. Love you, Julie." Reggie grinned.
"I love you, too." Julie grinned, looking back at her boys. "So that we can sing it together because of what it means to all of us. It's all about being free and being yourself. It's about having pride in who you are. It's called Finally Free."
The crowd erupted in cheers as Julie started to sing, leaning her head on Bobby's shoulder. She looked up as they hit the chorus and sprinted toward Luke, singing to him as Reggie shared Bobby's mic.
They sang through a few more Sunset Curve songs, the crowd screaming along to every one of them with speeches thrown in between a few songs, before it was nearly time to go. "Our last song of the day-" Julie cut herself off to giggle as the crowd awww'd and booed at her words, shaking her head. "I know! I know! We're sad about it, too." She joked and pouted. "Our last song is very special to me and my boys. It's about going for what you want, dreaming your dreams, and living. Like. It's Now Or Never."
Boos turned into cheers as the band started to play the song and Luke and Julie sang the opening lyrics together, the both of them looking up when they felt raindrops. They looked at each other with twin smirks and nodded, kicking and jumping into the puddles.
Julie giggled as she kicked a puddle in Reggie's direction and he laughed and kicked it back at her, neither of them caring about their make up or body glitter anymore.
Alex laughed through singing his harmonies with the boys, the rainwater bouncing off his drums with every hit.
Bobby and Reggie were once again sharing a microphone as they kicked puddles in Alex's direction and shook the water from their hair, glitter falling away with the water drops.
Luke laughed as he ran toward Alex's drums set and jumped onto the drum platform, wagging his tongue at his best friend.
Julie giggled as she hopped in a puddle and belted out her new solo of a second pre-chorus, bouncing her way toward Bobby while Reggie and Luke ran toward Alex.
Bobby chuckled as he and Julie did their new dance, specially choreographed just for them to do during Alex and Reggie's solos in Now Or Never: Hop twice, left step back, right step back, right step forward, hop once, high five.
Julie whooped as Reggie shouted the lyric about singing in the rain, and held her microphone out to the crowd to sing with her, holding up a fist as everyone screamed the final chorus. She sang the final line in harmony with the boys and the crowd cheered as they waved and took each other's hands, running off stage. She ran straight into the arms of her family, mentally placing this day up high in The Top Ten Best Days Of Her Life.

IBRAHIM JARVIS —
IG info/bio: @/OFFICIALRAHIMJARVIS | 130k followers | pro🏌🏿, & yes i was on that dating show...don’t obsess over other people, obsess over water, stay hydrated friends!
22 (23) years old
From Birmingham, England
Pisces sun? + Virgo moon + Cancer rising
Parents are both Afro-Antiguan and Barbudans + migrated to The UK once they were pregnant with their first child
They’ve been married for over 20 years
He gets his height from both of his parents
His mother keeps her hair buzzed short, cooks the best Antiguan food + loves creole seasoning, she’s 5’11, & works as a bank teller
His father is 6’5, works as a substance a*use counselor & does not believe in tough love as a way of showing you care about your children. He learned that the hard way growing up
Ibrahim is a pro golfer & dislikes tiger woods, “he’s a proper arsehole, typical American yeah?”
Got into the craft thanks to his maternal grandfather who was also into golf along with other sports & taught him all he needed to know. At first Ibrahim didn’t like it, found it rather boring & would rather stick to video gaming but his grandfather wanted to break his grandchildren out of staying in the house all the time
It kept him fit and also relieved any anxiety Ibrahim had in life and he had a good amount
He’s got an incredible swing, thanks to his long arms
He’s 6’3
Has three older brothers: Jesse (27) , Keithroy (25), and Reuben (24)
He loves working out and spotting other people, feels likes it’s a team effort & he’s a team player
Drinks gallons of water on a daily and nothing else, it’s even better if he puts fruit in it
Always eating fruit, for breakfast/with or after his dinner. Rather eat fruits than vegetables...yes he’s an adult but he can’t stand broccoli or radishes
Canon: hates seeing other people test their fruit to see if it’s ripe or not. But it’s fine when he does it himself, he just thinks about all the germs that are on other peoples hands when they’re doing so; it physically makes him sick & irritated if he ends up touching the fruit that’s mushy/lumpy
He’s a big fan of comics. Always has been since he’s a kid and has a huge collection of them, his oldest ones are packed away in a couple of crates (in his loft room that he uses as a extra storage room) since he no longer has space in his room. Yes he has no shame (and shouldn’t) of having them on display even tho his oldest brothers clown him for it
Massive fan of black panther & was hyped when it first came to theaters. Saw it three times in one day
Was heartbroken when Chadwick Boseman p*ssed
He’s awkward at expressing himself & sometimes it makes him feel misunderstood & it’s frustrating
Hates people that come up with these ideas of him instead of allowing him to collect his thoughts and speak them the right way
Yet he can be the type of person that wants to ignore issues and hope they go away
He wishes people had enough patience like he did with others in the world
He seeks advice from his dad, since he’s a counselor & everything yet it’s slightly different?
Can be a sweetie & very romantic in relationships
Will do the most (he won’t see it that way) & drop $ on you if he wants to...buying things, trying & failing to DIY, doing wealthy ppl shit, expensive trips— canon: taking his girl to Spain? Was it? Or Italy? I don’t remember... the whole 9
Had 1 gf before the villa. He broke up with her for being too flashy with his things & found that she wouldn’t have liked him if he didn’t have a bit of money
His parents live with him. “They’re basically my roommates until or if they find a house they like.” He didn’t go overboard once he got his first paycheck, he didn’t need a mansion but he did go big enough, industrial style but homey with some minor modern touches for his dream home—he didn’t want it to feel cold or penthouse-like
Isn’t too flashy on the socials but will post something every now & then if he feels the need to show it
Doesn’t post much of his face, mostly what he’s doing in the moment...lots of golfing pics!
Dresses like a dad but it works for him. Loves a good snug polo & plaid trousers/regular that are cut above the ankle, “those are highwaters innit?!” “No mum, it’s the style.” Rolled up jeans, tall white socks & some patterned, baggy sweaters, fancy hats, picks oxfords over sneakers, etc...
Definitely takes the time to iron/steam/press his underwear & socks
Enjoys getting his hair braided, isn’t tender-headed at all (must be nice)
Only grows his hair out during the fall/winter seasons or cuts/gets a shape up
When he posts about his tournaments or time at the golf course, he can always count on Bobby to comment the usual... @/returnofdamckenzie: do you ever have moments where you Reenact troy bolton on the lovely green grass? @/officialrahimjarvis: Idk whether to block u or have a laugh mate, yes i had to look him up!
Dated Jo for about 5 months after the villa until she broke up with him, finding that their lifestyles were too hectic for them to continue, at least that was her public statement to the fans but they really grew apart & the “love” was no longer there
Ibrahim seemed to be more upset about it than Jo in the beginning resulting in snappy replies for awhile, which again stems from him not knowing how to express himself
She checked up on him A LOT, almost as if they never broke up but Ibrahim felt like he needed his space now. They talked it out the best they could over dinner and got closure but that didn’t mean it didn’t sting. He just didn’t think it was needed to be calling each other everyday to see how they were both holding up. If they were done, then that’s what they should be
Jo didn’t see it that way. She still cared for Ibrahim, that didn’t mean that they had to stop talking in her view. She wanted to know how he was coping, and was known for “sticking her foot in her mouth” so that was also a flaw in their relationship
She would say certain things that touched on how she was feeling but didn’t express them at the right times & then there was Ibrahim who didn’t know HOW to say the things he felt which left jo to assume things
Ibrahim was back to the single life and he hated it. He wanted someone he could come back home to, someone that wanted to be with him for the long run. A part of him feels like Jo wasn’t planning to be with him for the long run in the first place and in a way that was okay? Sometimes you don’t know where you’re going in relationships but there should be some sort of goal? Maybe? At least that’s what he thought. Yeah they had fun but he wanted more someday
He was still young he didn’t need to be hung up about it right? Sike. He didn’t know how to take things lightly. That wasn’t how he was built. And to get comments about his ex relationship and have fans dragging him about his choices in the villa A YEAR later!!! Was disheartening
Shannon seemed to be doing well. He thought they would still be friends, at least that’s what she showed before she left the villa. Before he got her dumped. They talked a couple of times since then, jo personally wasn’t a fan of that—Shannon didn’t care but it was clear there was some tension still there
Until he contacted her just to realize she probably had his number blocked but her IG was public and she had a new man & was traveling about
His dad and Reuben were the only ones rooting for them
He had no choice but to be happy for her. Who was he to come in between that? Not that he wanted to but it’s a natural reaction to wonder after a fresh breakup, “what if?”
Talks to Priya every so often now. He seems to find comfort in her, it’s the same for her on her end
His mother has a feeling Priya is the one her son will end up with. Even if she is older...Keithroy also liked her the best
While Jesse seemed to be the only one who supported his relationship with jo
I honestly thought he would have liked Hannah in the beginning but idk if it was him or Gary that said she was too unrealistic when it came to love? I think they both said something along those lines which is odd since it seems Ibrahim has no problem treating his girl like a princess
Probably only has one special dish that he can cook the best & it’s gumbo. otherwise hes out of the kitchen or having his personal chef cook for the family
Goes live on twitch—when he has time, playing many games with the boys from the villa, which pleases the fans
Talks to them all as much as he can
Noah seems to be the first to always text back since Bobby is the one who’ll start off responding in minutes then forget to text back cause he’s off doing handstands or booping people on the nose or some shit, Gary always ends up busy doing something with his nan or for Lottie—but Noah’s always around
They seem to be the closest outside the villa, they mesh well & hang out the most when they can
he likes having his sound on & LOUD when he texts! There’s something so satisfying about hearing the clicking of texting to him
Watches a lot of sports on the Telly, it doesn’t have to be just golf. Usually watching that sport sends him right to sleep while the others keep him active/vocal...yes he’s a tv yeller
Holds sports parties at his home & invites all of his family & mates, he HATES having to clean up afterwards. If it wasn’t for his mum he would save the cleaning until the next day yet he doesn’t mind cleaning his car twice a week
Continues to make his violet man drink & wouldn’t be opposed to someone giving him a endorsement deal for it
Is the “I love everybody!” Drunk
Enjoys yard work over cleaning the house
Has his own customized golf cart that he keeps in his garage
He likes driving that more than his Buick suv tbh
Wants kids some day, not too many, not too little just right— he’ll probably have two but for rn his Doberman pinscher is his bby
Either ends up with Priya with slight insecurities that she’s too good for him or he falls in love with a tennis player, either way I’m fine with both
Crushes/his type? : Jojo Levesque, SERENA WILLIAMS, China McClain, Brie Larson, Victoria Pedretti, Nathalie Emmanuel, & Keke Palmer
Listens to: Aminé, Big Sean, Frank Ocean, Brent Faiyaz, Pink $weats, B Young, Ali Gatie, Russ, Raveena, Jessie Reyez, Rayana Jay, Cosima, TianaMajor9 etc...
Anthem = Lucky Daye, “Buying Time”

What I think my six hsm faves would be up to now
Troy decided to not play basketball professionally. He’s instead the youngest drama teacher East High has ever had. Specifically recommended by Ms Darbus. Who is now the principal of the school. He’s not as austere or bombastic as her. But he’s fun and easy to talk to. Which is why the kids love him. He realised that he and Gabriella weren’t very compatible and were better off as friends. So they amicably split up, this time for good. It’s not so bad for him though. He and Ryan reconnected at the ten year reunion. And as of December last year they’re officially living together. He’s written a moderately successful self help book/autobiography (Scream: My Story). And the graduating class of 2018 was said to have put on one of the best productions of grease 2 that Albuquerque had ever seen.
Ryan is one away from an official egot. He would’ve won the Tony already but he kinda got blacklisted for a while after he spoke up about the gender wage gap. He spent that time setting up a program he liked to call the second fiddle workshop (officially the Evans Scholarship Trust). It reaches out to kids who don’t feel appreciated, second borns, sidekicks, kids who don’t cause trouble in class, that sort of thing and it gives them a kick start in what ever field they feel best suited for, and not just the theatre. He’s not heard from his sister since he won his first Emmy and she gained minor notoriety for screaming at a shoes salesperson until the poor girl cried back in 2014. Unlike Troy he still talks to both his parents, his father less often then his mother but still. Mrs Bolton loves him. He’s the only one who will unbegrudgingly sing show tunes with her in the car
Kelsi is now a full time music teacher who’s working towards a teaching position at Juilliard. She had cut off all contact with most of the others except for Troy, they were roommates, but kept in contact with Martha. They grew closer. And their second wedding anniversary is next June. Troy officiated and Ryan walked them down the aisle. They’re now in the early stages of the adoption process. Troy’s self help book is partly dedicated to her and partly dedicated to Ryan. She was actually the catalyst that convinced Troy to become a drama teacher, she knows how well he works with kids and suggested he could find a way to give a little something back.
Martha still break dances and she still loves hip hop. She works with Ryan at the workshop as a dance instructor. They both donated an insanely generous amount of money to tne scholls arts program. She keeps in contact with Gabriella. Troy sometimes ask how she’s doing. Not often though. She’s launched a few dance tutorial videos. And was credited with choreography in Ryan’s first Emmy award winning performance acceptance speech. He actually took her to the ceremony.
Zeke is now the basketball coach at East High. He also runs a baking club after school. Technically it’s only for freshmen. But he welcomes anyone who wants to try. He finally got over Sharpay after he watched the notoriety video. It only took ten years. But he got over her. Like with Troy and Ryan above he reconnected with Tiara at the ten year reunion. He’s currently considering starting a baking show. He’s got a lot of time to think now so he’s giving it all the due process it deserves
Tiara man’s the British branch of the workshop though she still operates out of Albuquerque. She’d be lying if she said the notoriety video didn’t make her cackle like a banshee. She still acts from time to time. Most recently as Maureen in an open air production of rent back in August 2019. She takes great pride in the fact she’s basically taken Sharpay’s career away from her, not that Sharpay deserved it anyway. She’s currently engaged in talks to play Shelby in a brand new Broadway adaptation of Steel Magnolias
All six are currently sequestered in one of the Evans’s country houses. They were having a weekend party for Ryan’s 30 birthday when the lockdown went into effect. Ryan’s just grateful that the only good thing to happen out of his family’s 2016 stupidity was his dad having an extension built for the house along with an above garage apartment. So at least everyone has some measure of privacy

The Volvo XC90 is a remarkable vehicle known for its luxury, safety features, and performance. However, like any automobile, it’s not immune to common issues that may arise over time.
This comprehensive guide aims to equip Volvo XC90 owners with the knowledge and strategies to navigate through these common issues effectively. By understanding these challenges and knowing how to address them, you can ensure a smoother and more enjoyable driving experience with your Volvo XC90.
Understanding Your Volvo XC90
Before diving into common issues, it's crucial to have a solid understanding of your Volvo XC90. Familiarize yourself with its components, systems, and maintenance requirements. Get to know the engine specifications, transmission type, and available safety features. Understanding the intricacies of your vehicle will empower you to identify and address potential issues more effectively.
Identifying Common Issues
The first step in navigating common issues with your Volvo XC90 is recognizing them. Some of the most prevalent issues reported by XC90 owners include electrical problems, transmission issues, suspension concerns, and brake malfunctions. Additionally, keep an eye out for warning signs such as dashboard warning lights, unusual noises, and changes in vehicle performance. By staying vigilant, you can catch potential issues early and prevent them from escalating.
Electrical Problems and Solutions
Electrical issues are a common challenge faced by Volvo XC90 owners. These may include problems with the central electronic module (CEM), battery drain, malfunctioning sensors, and issues with the infotainment system. When encountering electrical issues, start by checking the vehicle’s fuses and connections. If the problem persists, consult a qualified technician who can diagnose and repair the underlying issue effectively.
Transmission Troubles and Remedies
Transmission problems can significantly impact the performance and drivability of your Volvo XC90. Symptoms of transmission issues may include rough shifting, slipping gears, and transmission fluid leaks. Regular transmission fluid checks and maintenance can help prevent these issues. If you notice any signs of transmission trouble, have your vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic to determine the appropriate course of action.
Addressing Suspension Concerns
The suspension system plays a crucial role in providing a smooth and comfortable ride in your Volvo XC90. Common suspension issues include worn-out shocks or struts, uneven tire wear, and suspension component failures. Regular inspections and maintenance of your vehicle’s suspension system can help detect and address issues early on. If you experience abnormal vibrations or handling issues, have your suspension system inspected by a professional technician.
Tackling Brake Malfunctions
Brake problems pose a significant safety risk and should be addressed promptly. Common brake issues in the Volvo XC90 may include brake pad wear, brake fluid leaks, and brake pedal pulsation. Regular brake inspections and maintenance are essential for ensuring optimal brake performance and safety. If you notice any signs of brake trouble, such as squealing noises or reduced braking effectiveness, have your brakes inspected and serviced by a qualified technician?
Routine Maintenance and Care
Preventive maintenance is key to minimizing common issues and ensuring the longevity of your Volvo XC90. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule for regular oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and other essential services. Doing a Runner...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (26th-30th October 2020)
Sienna, Brody and their obviously empty buggy made plans to leave Hollyoaks this week, following Warren’s attack on Cormac. However, their plan to flee was soon thrown into jeopardy when Sienna realised that she didn’t have access to the twins passports, what with Warren keeping them under lock and key at the garage. Whilst Sienna distracted Warren, Brody went to try and get the passports, but was interrupted by Celeste, who demanded to know what he was doing. Brody lied, and begged her not to tell Warren that she’d seen him. Celeste agreed and instead, went to see Felix, wanting to know what he and Warren had gotten Brody involved in. Felix passed the information onto Warren, who quickly realised that Brody had been after the twins passports...
Meanwhile, baby Faith was discharged from hospital, and Liberty was still unsure about handing her over to Brody and Sienna. With some help from a hallucination of Nico, Liberty decided to keep her baby, much to the concern of Damon, who this week, decided that he was in love with Liberty. Everyone was soon distracted by a naming ceremony for Faith out in the village, where Brody and Sienna had decided to do their bunk. With everyone gathered round, the pair created a distraction by hiding Liberty’s guitar (surely a great idea at any time?) and then disappearing as Liberty, Maxine and Damon went to search for it. However, Sienna got cold feet when she realised all of the hurt their leaving would cause, and told Brody she didn’t want to go...
As Brody and Sienna argued, there was panic for Liberty as she realised that Faith had gone. Having decided that she definitely wasn’t leaving, Sienna returned Faith to Liberty and, wanting to prove to her that she was staying put, handed Liberty her car keys and Faith. Sienna went to see Warren and, as these things often do, one thing lead to another and the pair ended up having sex. Meanwhile, on the Loveboat, Damon was hurt to realise that Brody had been wanting to leave, and convinced him to stick around. Back in the village, Liberty was once again visited by Nico, who suggested that she do a runner, pointing out that she now had Faith and access to a car. However, in her haste to get away, Liberty ended up running Brody over...
In other news this week, Martine asked Mitchell and Scott to move in with her in her Tardis style flat, whilst Tony was angry to discover that Kurt had slept with Verity, but still agreed to go into business with him. Finally, Romeo organised a stag party for Tom.
This Week’s Cast:
Brody, Celeste, Cher, Damon, Darren, Diane, Felix, Grace, Kurt, Liberty, Mandy, Marnie, Martine, Maxine, Mercedes, Misbah, Mitchell, Nico, Ripley, Romeo, Sami, Scott, Sienna, Silas, Toby, Tom, Tony, Verity, Walter, Warren, and Yasmine.
Blasts from the Past:
Lucy Benson, James ‘Bambo’ Bolton, Bazil ‘Bazz’ McCourtney’, Rory ‘Finn’ Finnegan, Simone Loveday, Bart McQueen, Sinead O’Connor, Ruth Osborne, Lewis Richardson, Laurie Shelby, Buster Smith.
