in your palace warm, mighty king
okay i’ve recently found myself on angel tree tiktok. if you’re unfamiliar with the concept, basically, some stores will put out a tree around the holidays with gift tags for anonymous local kids, and people coming in to do their own shopping can take a tag off the tree and buy kids gifts off their wishlists for the store to pass off to them. (the linked video shows it in action!)
anyway this got me thinking about jack zimmermann at the beginning of his career. he has been fabulously wealthy and privileged for his whole life, but he’s only recently started earning a massive salary of his own and has no real idea of what to spend it on. he’s comfortable. he has a car and a nice apartment and an engagement ring hidden somewhere in said apartment. he knows he should probably donate to a worthwhile cause, but he hasn’t figured out what.
one day, though, bitty’s visiting for the weekend and comes to the store with him, and right there in the entryway, he just… stops. jack doesn’t notice and consequently almost runs him over with the cart.
“you alright? careful, eh?”
bitty does not respond, because he’s looking at the tree.
“bud?”
jack follows his gaze. it really doesn’t look like much. it’s fake, unlit, and has seen better days if the way it’s a little flattened on one side is anything to go by. there is an equally squashed-looking stuffed snowman sat on the floor next to it. it’s the kind of thing your eyes slide over easily, hurrying from one place to another. blink and you’ll miss it.
bitty isn’t blinking.
“lord, i haven’t seen one of these in years,” he says. his voice is soft. he still isn’t looking at jack. “do you know what it is?”
jack doesn’t, so bitty explains. and when they inch closer, jack sees that all the ornaments he thought were plain paper before are actually printed with ages, shoe sizes, requests for warm coats and toys and cute jeans and deodorant. here and there is a specific wish—a bluetooth speaker. a particular board game. one kid, age eight, is fervently hoping for a bike.
and—okay. here’s the thing. they’ve been together for more than a year, and bitty is pretty willing to go along with jack’s desire to spoil him. but although he’s so open and accepting when jack wants to kiss him, or cook dinner for a change, or lay him out on their bed and make him feel good—he will always, always get uncomfortable where significant amounts of money are involved. it was the subject of the one and only fight that sent them to bed still heated. the fundamental difference between their upbringings is the hardest for them to grasp: jack has never known a life without plenty. and bitty—
“i think my parents put me on one,” bitty says. “the year we moved back to madison, after—”
the closet looms between them, black and yawning.
“well. you know. coach had to leave a good job in lawrenceville. took us a while to get back on our feet, i think. and that year, they couldn’t—i mean, i heard them talking at night about how we might not be able to make christmas work, when they thought i couldn’t hear them. but i still wrote my letter to santa, and there were a couple presents when i woke up christmas morning, so.” he scuffs one shoe on the industrial carpet. “maybe an angel sent ‘em.”
the words make something sizzle down jack’s spine and settle low in his gut. he steps forward, reaches out, turns over the nearest tag.
boy, age 11. shoe size: 8. wishlist: sneakers, earbuds, basketball, patriots merch, chapter books. loves fantasy and mythology.
once upon a time, jack spent three months in a rehab center designed specifically for the privacy needs of celebrity clients. his parents footed the bill, had the windows on all their cars tinted for him to hide behind when he got out. at the same time, thousands of miles away, bitty sat at the top of the stairs in his parents’ house and listened to them wonder if they could afford to keep the magic of christmas alive another year.
people are stepping around them to get out of the cold, now, their eyes skipping right over the tree and the boys in front of it. once upon a time, strangers on the street picked apart jack’s overdose like a piece of tabloid gossip. strangers on the street made sure a thirteen-year-old kid had something to unwrap with his family on christmas morning.
“bits?”
bitty sniffles, swipes at one eye with the sleeve of his sweater. “yeah?”
jack lifts the tag gently off its branch, catches bitty’s gaze. bitty’s intake of breath is so sharp it’s audible over the music playing overhead. do you see what i see?
“what do you think? wanna go get us another cart?”

What We Know About the Train Derailment in Ohio
In early February, a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed in eastern Ohio, igniting a fire that swept the town of East Palestine in smoke. Fearful of a major explosion, the authorities carved out an evacuation zone and then carried out a controlled release of toxic fumes to neutralize burning cargo inside some of the cars. Residents feared for their health as concerns have mounted about the effect of the derailment and the fire on the environment and the transportation network.
Around 9 p.m. on Feb. 3, a train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio, a village of about 4,700 residents about 50 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. About 50 of the train’s 150 cars ran off the tracks on its route from Madison, Ill., to Conway, Pa.
The train, operated by Norfolk Southern, had been carrying chemicals and combustible materials, with vinyl chloride, a toxic flammable gas, being of most concern to investigators. A huge fire erupted from the derailment, sending thick billowing smoke into the sky and over the town. Residents on both sides of the Ohio-Pennsylvania border were ordered to evacuate, as Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio raised alarms about a possible explosion.
Local and federal officials started an investigation that involved the National Transportation Safety Board and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The derailment has sparked concerns about air, soil and water pollution.
On Feb. 10, the E.P.A. said that about 20 rail cars were reported to have been carrying hazardous materials. Chemicals including vinyl chloride, butyl acrylate, ethylhexyl acrylate and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether were “known to have been and continue to be” released to the air, surface soil and surface waters, the E.P.A. said.
On Feb. 12, the E.P.A., after monitoring the air, said it had not detected contaminants at “levels of concern” in and around East Palestine, although residents may still smell odors. Working with Norfolk Southern and the Columbiana County Emergency Management Agency, the E.P.A. had screened the air inside about 290 homes as of Feb. 13, and said it had not detected vinyl chloride or hydrogen chloride, which can cause life-threatening respiratory issues.
Fearing an explosion, the authorities held a controlled release of the toxic materials from five train car tankers on Feb. 6, and the contents were diverted to a trench and burned off.  Just after the derailment, about 1,500 to 2,000 residents in East Palestine were told to evacuate the area. Schools were closed for the week, along with some roads. Norfolk Southern said it had donated $25,000 to help the American Red Cross set up shelters and deal with the influx of people.
The E.P.A. informed Norfolk Southern on Feb. 10 that it might be responsible for costs associated with the cleanup of the site. The agency did not offer details about when the site might be considered completely returned to normal. The N.T.S.B. is still investigating the cause of the derailment.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is working on an assessment for a remediation plan.
“Initially, with most environmental spills, it is difficult to determine the exact amount of material that has been released into the air, water, and soil,” James Lee, media relations manager for the E.P.A. in Ohio, wrote in an email to CNN. “The assessment phase that will occur after the emergency is over will help to determine that information.”
The case is ongoing.

The train, which originated from Madison, Illinois, on the evening of Feb. 1, broke down at least once before derailing in East Palestine, Ohio, on Feb. 3, according to employees familiar with the matter. The employees say there were concerns among those working on the train over what they believed was the train's excessive length and weight — 151 cars, 9,300 feet long, 18,000 tons — before it reached East Palestine, which contributed to both the initial breakdown and the derailment." *** The largest online progressive news show in the world. “Are you saying that my daughter won't be admitted to this hospital? Do you know who I am?”
The woman shifted from the chair, her right fist stomping the hard marble table in front, keeping her eye contact with the director as she spoke. Mrs. Susan Parks is one of the VIPs at Chung Allied Medical Hospital. “Do you know how much money we ‘donate’ in this hospital? Do you know who you’re talking to?” She repeated the question. Even with a lowered voice, the emphasis on every word was enough to send a message. Of course, Madison is aware of her title. Her daughter was brought to their emergency room after being involved in a car wreck, which prompted the meeting.
The patient had been given first aid, and other than some little cuts from the shards of glass, she seemed to be in fair health. Unfortunately, the other casualty is a seven-year-old child who was hit by her automobile and is in a life-threatening state. The daughter faced additional charges of DUI, and she had to undergo multiple tests to validate her innocence. But her mother knows just what to do in order to fabricate the claim.
𝘖𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵.
“Mrs. Parks, we have hospital protocols. I just can-”
A forceful slap across Madison's face took her off guard. Her cheeks were scorching, her face drained of every color, and her hand balled up in her lap.
“Soniya, how dare you talk back to your imo like this?”
As Susan Parks is Richard's second cousin, every fiber in her body started to feel the way it should have just by hearing how she addresses her. Anyone can study medicine. Human anatomy and its functions, in addition to its location, could be taught in school if one wants to pursue a career as a doctor. Though, you won't be able to gain all the knowledge necessary to work in the field from these books alone. One should understand the value of hands-on learning from experiences such as these. Madison can easily succumb to her desire to confront her, dismiss her status, and abandon all of her hard-earned worth if she acted in the same manner and allowed her feelings to overpower.
𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘴 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭.
She pushed all her menacing ideas aside and regained her composure before continuing. “Mrs. Parks, I see you are unable to comprehend the gravity of the situation at this point.” Madison paused to look at her. "First responders described the scene as extremely chaotic, with intense emotions running high for both those immediately involved and others who observed this horrible accident. Based on the clinical assessment of your daughter's situation, it appears that she exhibited sufficient negligence to drive herself home while intoxicated.” Even though it was irksome, her tone didn't show it. She did not take her eyes off Mrs. Parks as she approached her seat. “You're not even being polite enough to reach out about the victim's condition, and you have the gall to act in this way in order to protect your own reckless daughter.”
She eased her back on the edge of the table, facing her, with both of her arms crossed in front of her. “And now, all mighty and proud, you get up on your high horse and plead—okay, not really—demanding that something be made up to show that she is nothing but guilty of charges.”
With a mocking chuckle, the woman raised her palm above her head, poised to strike her once more. Madison managed to catch it this time before it reached her cheek. “I would stop at nothing to link your daughter to this tragedy in the event the child dies. Let me also remind you that she faces a maximum indeterminate sentence of 5 to 15 years in jail and a minimum indeterminate sentence of 1 to 3 years in prison if she is found guilty of vehicular homicide. And until she faces the consequences she deserves, I refuse to give up.” Mrs. Parks’ reaction was one of disbelief mixed with bewilderment. “And you think anyone would believe some mediocre doctor over me?” Susan pointed out, snatching her hand back from Madison's grip.
The doctor raised her hand as though in a cue and revealed her phone, which continues to display its recording. The woman was taken aback when she learned this and immediately covered her mouth with her hands. Madison began to feel a sense of satisfaction, and a smile grew on her lips. “Don't worry, Imo. I'm sure to get your good side,” she whispered as she leaned in to speak with Mrs. Parks. Then, she steered their gaze toward the CCTV camera located behind the woman before leaving the room and her inside.

Tumblr media
1. Name, Year, Major, and Hometown
My name is Madison Nakano, I am a first year communications major and I am from Seattle, Washington.
2. What’s your roman empire?
My Roman empire is what color I'm going to dye my hair next.
3. What is the best compliment you have ever received?
My favorite compliment that I have ever gotten is someone telling me that I look friendly and that I look like someone they want to be friends with.
4. If your life was a movie what genre would it be (comedy, horror, drama, etc.) and what actor would play you?
My life would be filmed like a wildlife documentary where we just observe what I do everyday because nothing super exciting happens. I would want Momona Tamada to play me.
5. What is something on your college bucket list?
Road trip to socal or Santa Barbara.
6. What’s your guilty pleasure? (song, movie, food etc.)
Spending money I dont have yet.
7. What are your bad habits?
Hitting snooze and being late. Snacking at night. Listening to music in class and not paying attention.
8. What are your favorite song lyrics?
“Fearing not growing up. Keeping me up at night. Am I doing enough? Feel like I'm wasting time.” (Prom SZA)
9. Defend your unpopular opinion/ hot take
Birkenstock clogs are ugly. They look like a camel's foot. You have to style them really really well for them to look good.
10. Describe a time where you had to step up and be a leader?
I’m a first year so I don't have a lot of leadership experience in college yet but there were definitely times in highschool where I had to step up to be a leader. I was on the board for my highschools key club which is where I was able to gain leadership and volunteering experience. This included public speaking and facilitating weekly meetings for the club. There was one time when I had to run a car wash fundraiser to raise money for charity. The members of the club would help wash cars that came through and collect the money at the end. This was one of my first events as a board member so it was very new to me. The club needed to meet a certain amount of money raised in order to meet our goal. Since I was on the board, I had to step up and make sure everyone was included and doing their job. There were times where people were unsure about what they were supposed to be doing. I also had to make sure that everything was organized and going smoothly. It was challenging because I’m normally a people pleaser so I was not 100% comfortable bossing people around. It helped a lot that I wasn't the only person running the event. In the end, we were able to surpass our goal and raise almost $500 to donate towards charity. After this experience, I found it a lot easier to run events and be in a leadership position for the club.

Day 301
My goodness, everything has happened.
We got engaged. (ONE MILLION EXCLAMATION POINTS)
I am submitting my Offer in Compromise. (today!!!)
I am enrolled in a bachelor's program at Southern Oregon University.
I'll attend online for the next year.
I am going to be an aunt.
My youngest sister is moving to Madison, WI.
I cleaned out 32 years of memories from my parents' garage.
We came up with a tentative life plan.
We aren't planning a wedding. Instead, we'll get married at the Courthouse in Marion County.
I am really (finally) feeling like I am coming into my own.
What a phrase. What does it even mean, really? Coming into my own. According to the Oxford dictionary it means: to become fully effective, used, or recognized. "He has come into his own in the last ten years as one of the most successful advisers in the art world."
This weekend we were driving home from camping with aforementioned youngest sister in the car. She asked both Michael and me what we would choose to be excellent at if we could guarantee excellence. My answer was swift: motherhood. I would choose to be an excellent mother.
Since then, I've been noticing more intently the mothers around me and my inner self: my dialogue, my thoughts, my feelings, and how all of those in combination with another make up my actions. While I'm pleased to find that I am generally kind to myself and to others in both thoughts and actions, there is improvement to be made to reach excellence levels.
I've noticed that I am not my most confident, lovely, engaged self when I spend too much time on screens or in loud places. I'm not my most elegant self when drinking alcohol. I'm not my most productive self when I spend hours on my phone throughout the day.
I am my most engaged self with the phone entirely removed and when having conversations one on one. I am my most confident while wearing clothing that I find comfortable and flattering, when my hair is "done," when my skin and teeth are well cared for, and when I am hydrated.
I am most productive in a clean, calm space - free of dust and dirt and stains and things. As a lover of things, this realization is particularly devastating, though true nonetheless. After some serious consideration (and research), I have decided that this doesn't mean that I won't be happy unless I donate all my worldly possessions, adopt a minimalist lifestyle, and move into a van. However, this likely does mean that I'll have to be more particular about what items come into our home, how I organize them, and how often I clean them (and the space they occupy). Learning from my experience cleaning out my storage area at my parents' home, I know that this process will be daunting and often unfun. I also know it will be rewarding beyond comprehension and an excellent training for parenthood.
Cleanliness might be close to godliness (which I don't believe in, so I'll substitute for) excellence.

picture perfect days-
some days are just perfect. i try try try my best to be thankful everyday. i have more good days than bad. its been that way for a long time now. I love having days off from work. I got out of bed around 8- a 10 am appointment to have a pedicure. I almost always get sparkles on my toes. if possible i would bathe in glitter. the Chinese ladies don't love me- sparkles are hard to get on and hard to get off. 3 coats instead of 2. the lady asks me today if i like it with 2 coats or do i want 3- i'll take 3 - Thank you!
I talked to my Mexican friend a little-I think i'm going to sext him- ive really never done that before and why not. He doesn't have a car so- chances of us ever meeting a pretty slim.. went to the park for a run. I felt strong- slow i tell myself- i want to run fast- slow. i ran faster the 2nd part of the run.. my mind was good- breath, breath... breath.. i can usually mange to finish running under the cover of the trees.. today the sun was out and i was set to finish in the full sun-- slow-breath-this is uncomfortable- you are dying. i pull my phone out to see 48 seconds left- i struggle to put my phone away. once i do i tell myself 30 seconds left- my mind tells me once again i am dying. surely i can live another 30 seconds.. and i do. BUT- - you are dying-its interesting- the mind body connection. James tells me ALLL the time- walking is just as good-walking is just as good-i get it. i'm not running because of what it does for my body-i'm running because i like what it does for my mind-it's a constant battle. some runs are good and feel good, other are good but feel bad- sometimes i try and fail completely- it's me vs me- for some reason i like that. i have learned so much about myself- there may come a time when i physically can not run- so for now i'm gonna run- ha- or jog-slow run.
Madison is cooking.. a lot of food. All vegan. We looked at a condo. We both like it. Levittown. Not far-my work commute would be about the same- a pool. fire place. outdated kitchen. I say this to MAds and she says- you don't cook. I really don't anymore. I make my chicken breast, some kind of rice or starch- veggies. that is the extent of my cooking. Anyway- it would be such a change for me.. probably a good one.. i tell Mads that i have lost so much these past few years and now my town too- seems so stupid to think that way.. there is nothing keeping me here but me. no reason for me to stay other than i want to. we are going to cook on our neighbors grill- a trip to Walmart- right now- life seems prefect. honestly it does. i was able to donate to a cause Marci is spearheading-homelessness in New Mexico- where he sister and sisters partner live-
i wanted to plan a trip to see my Mom- just impossible- she can not start where we are-right here right now- just be kind. NOPE - can't do it.
Life is good. I think its time to write a letter to myself..
Maybe- i need patience - good things will come. good things are coming..

Jackson
*Jackson pushes through the crowd, looking for his fiance's familiar face, knowing she was the only person who could give him what he wanted, even though it wouldn't be nearly as fulfilling as it would've been if it was you, nearly growling to himself as he thinks that, pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind, just desperate to get his hands on Madison* *he finally finds her, staying attached to her side throughout the rest of the night which was unlike him but he just needed to feel some sort of companionship* *she held his hand and fixed his tie and played the part of his fiance well, doing enough talking for the two of them so he was able to zone out, able to think about you and how the night had turned out, how he desperately wanted you to be the one by his side right now, playing the little game of trying to figure out what idiot you'd flirt with and manipulate to get a donation, but no, you decided to show your true colors and he needed to remember that you were his assistant; you werrn't his friend or his confidant or his companion, he paid you to be around and he needed to constantly remind himself of that* *Jackson was stood close to the front door with a small group of people around his age, Madison doing her thing and talking and telling stories, Jackson's eyes flickering around the room before they caught on you, watching from afar as you walked out the front door, his eyes naturally taking in your form like they had been all night, swallowing thickly as he watches you disappear out the front door, wishing that everything was different but it wasn't, you were gone, back home to your boyfriend and he was here, surrounded by people but feeling more alone than ever*
*Matt was on the couch flicking through channels, pretending to be watching something but more so just counting down the minutes* *he had seen your text and he did think you looked gorgeous, but he had so much pent up frustration and disgust of your boss and the lifestyle you were trying to pretend you fit into that he couldn't even admire you or find the words to send back, leaving you on read for hours because he just didn't know how to talk to you, he wanted his girlfriend back, the one who wore sweats and cozy clothes, not this glitzy and glamorous girl* *he sighed as another hour passed, checking his phone to see if you had said anything but radio silence, tossing his phone back down onto the cushion and downing his 3rd or 4th beer, he had lost count*
_______________________
*i take some time out on the balcony to compose myself, thinking the conversation and annoyed at myself at rising to your bait and giving you what you wanted, knowing you behaved like a wounded puppy that bit when people got too close and I should have expected nothing less* *checks the time on my phone, seeing the Uber was close and Matt still hadn’t texted me back, sighing to myself as I wonder why I was still working for you when it wasn’t always enjoyable and it was compromising my relationship, wondering if it was even worth l the trouble* *thinks this over as I exit the party, forcing myself not to look for you on the way out as I slip out the front door, the paparazzi beginning to take photos before they realise I’m a nobody and they stop, coming out to the cars and getting into my Uber, leaning my head back as I travel home contemplating everything* *it was close to midnight when I got home, not expecting you to still be awake as I quietly open the door, toeing my shoes off and sighing in relief as the pain from my heels eases, hearing the TV and frowning as I come into the living room, seeing you sat there and heart hitching to think you waited up for me* You’re still up? *my face was flushed and dress still sparkling, taking my hair out of its up do and desperate to just get into bed now*

Breaking Down the "Fair Market Value" of Car Donations Madison
One really pervasive myth about car donations Madison is that they do not, in any way, benefit the donor financially. For this reason, a lot of people feel like it is foolish to donate something as valuable as a car to a charitable organization when they could make more money turning it over somewhere else. In reality, there are a number of possible financial benefits to making a car donation Madison WI (http://www.rawhide.org/donations/car-donation-madison/) Getting at least some financial return from the donation of a vehicle to a charitable organization is not that difficult, and it starts with understanding the meaning of the "fair market value" of the vehicle.
Car Donations Madison May Allow the Donor to Obtain the "Fair Market Value" of the Donation
Most donors of used vehicles receive some financial return through an end-of-year federal income tax deduction. In order to calculate the amount of this tax benefit, it is necessary to know the fair market value of the donated vehicle. The range of fair market values for car donations Madison is enormous. In 2019, the Green Bay Packers acquired two of Bart Starr's 1960's era Corvettes and auctioned them, later donating the money to a Wisconsin-based charity for needy kids. This was certainly one of the most highly-valued, vehicle-based donations anywhere for the year. On the other end of the spectrum, ordinary people donate their unwanted vehicles to various charitable organizations every day. A lot of these vehicles are worth less than $500, which seems like almost nothing.
So, how to determine the fair market value of a given vehicle?
Perhaps the most important thing to know is that the Kelley Blue Book value is not necessarily the same as the fair market value for any given vehicle. Because many people are familiar with the Kelley Blue Book, this is a common misconception. The Blue Book can be a good starting point for valuing a vehicle, however, there are many other factors that go into the final valuation, too.
Cars that are in exceptional condition will have a fair market value that exceeds the Blue Book's number. Everyone is familiar with the story about the great used car that was only driven to church by someone's grandmother once a month. As a buyer, it is obviously necessary to be wary of these kinds of sales pitches, but it's important to think about them as a donor, too. As the owner of an older, low-miles vehicle in great condition, however, there is a good case to be made for valuing that vehicle more highly than an identical vehicle in "average" condition.
Of course, the opposite is true of cars that have more wear and tear and other mechanical and cosmetic problems than are expected of an "average" vehicle of the same make and model year. If a vehicle doesn't run, has been wrecked or has many hundreds of thousands of miles on the odometer, then the fair market value will fall somewhat below the Kelley Blue Book's suggested price.
Tumblr media
Documenting the fair market value of the vehicle is the most important aspect of the donation process. This means not only having an estimate from a reputable expert, but taking photos and copying maintenance records to back up the estimate to present to the charity of choice and to keep for your own records.

Car donation charities Madison exist to help communities thrive
Tumblr media
What do car donation charities Madison do?
Imagine that you have just moved to a new town, and you’re looking for ways to get involved within the community. There are things like volunteering that make it easy to meet new people as well as to do something good, or maybe you’ll want to find a job working at or with large numbers of people each day… but what about reaching out to charities? Every city has at least one local charity that is run in a way that will benefit the community, you’ll just need to find it. There are many different benefits to working with or getting involved in a charitable situation… but what are they?
Car donation Madison charities (http://www.rawhide.org) are only one type of organization that you may find, but they’re one that has the potential to truly make a difference for people. These organizations may be an offshoot of a different charity - another branch of them, if you will - or they can be standalone, but no matter what they are or how they operate, the truth is that they are a huge benefit to even small communities.
Many people take owning and operating a vehicle for granted. This means that they don’t even think about it when they leave their homes and get behind the wheel, but for others, this isn’t possible. Owning a vehicle is expensive, especially when the car or truck in question is an older one and is likely to need repairs... so why is using a charity recommended?
Car donation charities Madison help put people on the road
When people look to lots and private sellers for cars and trucks, they only know what the seller will tell them. Sometimes, unfortunately, people aren’t entirely honest, which means that they might end up paying for a car that is less than reliable, and get stuck with it. Not only is a car or truck that comes from a charity sale going to be checked over before it’s auctioned off, it’s going to come from an organization that is trying to maintain a reputation, meaning that they’ll be careful with the vehicles they sell. Car donation Madison organizations also require payment upfront - which means that new buyers won’t have to worry about monthly payments or overextending themselves. This is a huge relief for those that have held off on buying or owning a car because

Car Donation Tax Deduction Madison: A Key Benefit Of Car Donation Madison Donors Can Enjoy
Tumblr media
You may have an old car in your garage in Madison, Wisconsin, and you may be wondering how you could get rid of it. Most people would think about selling the car but you know that this would require some advertising expenses and a lot of time and effort in talking to people who would like to inquire about the car and those who would like to test drive it. A possible alternative to getting the car out of your hands is to donate to a charity that accepts car donations Madison. A primary benefit of such an act is that you can get a car donation tax deduction Madison.
How to Get a Car Donation Tax Deduction Madison
To make sure that you will be able to claim a tax deduction after giving to a car donation Madison charity, you have to ensure that the charity you are donating to is 501(c)3 registered. If the charity is not registered as such, the IRS will not allow the tax deduction.
Other Things to Consider When Giving to a Car Donation Madison Charity
When choosing a charity, you will need to ensure that it has a good reputation. You can check this by visiting the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. Take a look at the BBB rating of the charity you are interested in and also find out if there have been any consumer complaints that have not been resolved appropriately.
Another important thing to look into is the efficiency of the charity. If you have more than one charity left in your shortlist, you will need to choose only one. One way to do that is to check the efficiency of each charity in your list. Then you can choose the one with the highest efficiency. The efficiency rating of a charity indicates the percentage of its funds that it will be using directly for the benefit of its service users. Whatever is left would be used for other expenses. You would want to choose a charity with a high efficiency because it means that its administrators are knowledgeable on how to minimize overhead expenses and maximize the amount that can be used for their services.

TLDR:
Our orphanage has, as of 4/12/22, two days to raise $730, or their water purifier, their only source of safe drinking and bathing water will be taken. Without the purifier, they will have no way of getting clean water, as they can not afford to buy bottles. The unpurified water will expose the orphans to deadly illnesses, germs, and bacteria. This could quite literally cost lives.
I sent everything I had, but am unfortunately in the middle of getting evicted, and also now have multiple sclerosis that may be paralyzing me and can't work a job to help support them. Please, reblog. Send this to your friends, or any blog that will care. I have a template for messages and instructions on how to find helpful people here. (coming soon!!) (I'm also working on an about God Provides post to direct people to.)
If every one of my followers donated $1 , we'd be two thirds of the way there, already! Please, I'd you have anything at all to spare, it can make the difference between these kids sickness and healrh. There's proof of all of my history with the orphanage on my blog if you search up Yazid.
Now, if you have the time, please read this entire post to understand their story. I am asking sincerely, because this story deserves to be heard! This is a story of people who even in the most dire situations have cared about my illnesses, who have fought through so much because their hearts are genuinely full of love for their fellow humans. And these people are in trouble. They need our help to survive.
Working here has changed my world, and I think Yazid is changing the world all around him. Proof of all of this is in my blog, just search Yazid in it.
Hello everyone! My name is Maddie (Madison McClain if we're being fancy) and I've been working for the past year fundraising for the orphanage run by my best friend, Yazid, called God Provides Orphanage! It's located in Buguri, Uganda. We met by chance, and became instant friends. Now, I consider him family, along with all of the members of Team God Provides. Although this is a Christian orphanage, we're all from different backgrounds, and faiths, and that is all accepted.
Yazid is truly the most amazing person I've ever met. Even in his worst situations, and even in grave danger, he'll take the time to care about my medical issues first, and tell me to rest even when I know he could use my help. His mission in operating God Provides orphanage is to provide kids with a sense of hope, unconditional love, and faith in their futures. He's taken care of families, orphans, sick children with parents who couldn't afford their medicine, anyone he kind find. He's helped so many people, and saved so many lives. And he's been my best friend for a year now.
Unfortunately, Yazid and the orphanage have fallen into a string of tragedies that have made things for them very difficult.
First, one of the orphans, a preteen girl, almost died from starvation. Fortunately, I had the money at the time to pay for her treatment with metabolic salts, and she was okay!! I was beyond relieved when I heard she survived, I cried in my friend's car the whole way home.
Yazid has a tendency to overwork himself...even to the point of illness. And so recently, he was hospital for acute renal failure, and came serious close to dying. This is something my mother almost passed from a few years back, and it's only by a miracle that she survived. Yazid never shows fear, so when he began talking about what to do if he lost his life, I knew he must be seriously struggling. But luckily, with the help of people here, he got out alive, and was able to get all the treatment he needed to survive!
Then, upon returning home, he found that the kids had used the food and supplies improperly, as their temporary guardians were not used to how to ration and use them. The children had not eaten in days, and he was terrified. Luckily, again, through help from your kindness, the kids were able to eat, and Yazid was able to pay past due rent.
But then, just the other day, only days after getting out of the hospital, Yazid was attacked and beaten. Their water purifier, their only source of safe water, broke down recently, and these people were hired to fix it. However, they are now demanding the balance owed, and as of 4/12/22, we only have two days (including today) to pay them the balance before they come and remove the water purifier.
This could cost children's lives. Without safe drinking and bathing water, they are exposed to deadly illnesses, germs, and ameobas. All of which could sadly VERY EASILY kill a child.
Please, we NEED your help. You truly can make the difference between sickness and health in these kids. Please, spread this post. Message it to blogs you think seem kind. Put it in your discord servers. Put it in your Instagram bio and advertise it on your story. Anything. It would mean so much. And if you want to help more, consider joining our volunteer discord! We also count it as work experience, so if you need a reference for your resume, consider helping us and gaining some skills and experience you can list on it! Seriously, this work is what got me hired on the spot for my first job. It's a big help!

*Meeting the new Rock Angel. Filming continues*
A few days later after bonding with the actors playing my boys, I came to any day of filming I could (outside of my album recording and touring with Queen and Adam). Now the boys promised me and I knew they would follow up with it, the young actress they got to play me in as a cameo for the Live Aid sequence.
I was talking with Miami when we both heard a knock and that's when Graham King came in.
"I've got her."
"Bring her in." I said. He opened the door wider and soon came in the young woman came in.
"You wanted to see me Mrs. Kline?"
"Yes my dear come in." I said. She came in and took a seat on one of the producer's chair. "I wanted to speak to you guys privately about some things that have come up. But first I would like to know your name my dear girl."
"Ashley. My name's Ashley Johansson. But my friends call me Ash."
"Lovely to meet you Ash, from what I saw up there you—you blew me away."
"Uhh thank you. And can I just say I've been such a big fan of yours. My mum always played your first album on repeat every day when she'd take me to school. But I thank her for that cause your story has just been such an inspiration to not only me but her as well."
"I'm flattered Ash. I'm always happy to hear that I inspire people, even when I feel like I'm not really doing anything. All I do is just bring my music out into the world and try to give voice to things that other's don't deem important."
"That makes you an inspiration Mrs. Kline." She said.
"Oh please Ash darling, call me (y/n)."
"Okay....(y/n)."
"Now then straight to business. As you know Hollywood's always wanting to create biopics of anything and everything. And while I've been aware of both Queen's story as well as Elton's life being made into films. I've always been reluctant in getting my story out, but from what I saw a few days ago I feel like I might've found the right team to do just that. So my dear Ash, tell me this; who do you trust the most in Queen?" she looked at me confused but she soon realized just what I was doing.
"Brian was asking me tons of questions but that was the only question Roger ever asked me."
"And what did you tell him?"
"I told him, that.....All the members of Queen are my family. But if I had to pick, Roger has always seen each side of me. Whether it was the happiest moment of my life, or the darkest day. He's seen my true colors that none of the other band members had seen." I smiled softly and said.
"What happened after you said that?"
"He—he might not have wanted anyone to know but—I could swear I saw him wipe a tear from his eye." I smiled and lowered my head.
"That's my papa lion alright." I muttered. I looked back up to Graham and Ashley and continued, "After seeing the hard work you all have put into Queen's story, I've come to the decision along with my manager and former boss Miami, that I'm willing to sign off the rights to the film to you Graham King. And I want you my dear Ash to play me." They both looked at me in surprise.
"You're—you're serious? You-you want me to play you?"
"I can think of no other person. My uncle and father figures chose well. They—after all knew me better than I knew myself." I heard Miami chuckle softly.
"Thank you (y/n)."
"But there are conditions that I seriously must emphasize on."
"Whatever you want."
"Okay first; I will be heavily involved with the project."
"Done." He said.
"Second, there are some events I will allowed to be shown. But I absolutely refuse to have the stalking episode I was forced to suffer with be heavily shown. It can be touched on but I want nothing else about it in the film. It was hell for my family and my children were scarred for almost ten years, especially my daughter."
"It was horrifying. In my Folklore and true crime class, someone actually did a story on him in the aspect of why celebrity stalking should've been taken more into consideration." Ash said. I closed my eyes heavily trying to compose myself when I felt a hand grasp mine.
"If anything more is spoken about in regards to my Angel's stalker, the project will immediately be terminated." Miami said. I turned to him and he looked at me and nodded firmly as he patted my hand comfortingly.
"The writer's will be informed on it immediately."
"And in regard to Queen's casting, make sure that those four young boys are involved with the project. I love all four of them, they are—everything I remember when I first worked with Queen."
"It shall be done. After this film wraps up and the premiere at Wembley Stadium, you and I can meet at Abbey Road to discuss further more on the project and all the rights that need to be signed." Graham told me.
"Graham King, you've got yourself a deal." We both shook on it. A pact forged that a movie about the Rock Angel would come to place.
Months passed and I was busy touring alongside Queen and Adam for a time, up until Brian decided to pop in on set for a surprise visit. He told me that the boys were now filming the Rockfield farm studio scenes. Now this was one filming session I definitely didn't want to miss.
Brian and I drove up to the location in Hertfordshire, a charming little place known as Stocker's farmhouse and cottage. Since the real Rockfield farm studios wasn't suitable for filming, and ridge farm closed down back in 2003, Stocker's was the only place left.
Coming up onto the filming location, I began to see it looking sorta similar to what Rockfield was when I had used it earlier in my career.
"The studio definitely chose the perfect setting I must say." I said to Brian who was driving.
"Indeed. When the lads and I first came to Rockfield farm we couldn't believe that that was what Fred had in mind."
"But the wide open spaces sure do provide little to no distraction. Guess that's what made a Night at the Opera so successful to you guys."
"You really think so?"
"I know that's how it was for my first album. Plus why do you think your 5th album is the most talked about in regard to your earlier works."
"Suppose you do have a point." He shrugged. After about ten minutes of driving through the country roads, we finally arrived at the farm and the barn house there made me think of the real Rockfield farm studios.
"Not quite the same but the atmosphere of it just brings back memories doesn't it?"
"It does indeed. Shall we go surprise them?"
"Yes, lets." He shut the car off and we both exited the car. We walked towards the barn house where the guys must already be filming right about now since there wasn't really anyone outside. Once we got up to the door, Brian slowly and quietly opened the door but gestured me to go in first.
"Oh lady's first." He said.
"Thank you." I walked inside and Bri followed behind me. Inside I saw some of the crew walking around setting some stuff up. All around it was like the actual recording studio Rockfield farm had. From all the pictures I remember seeing in either magazines or even Brian himself, it was like I was transported back in time to when Queen recorded "A Night at the Opera".
"You know some of those amps and even Roger's kit we used at the time are here."
"Really? So you and Rog donated some of the actual gear?"
"Yep. Since the fans will be nitpicky about certain aspects it's just a fun little way to give them a taste of some of the real equipment. Even Red's here."
"No way. No wonder why you've been using those Red special copies throughout the tour. But Bri are you sure it's okay? I mean I know how protective you are of Red."
"She's been in the best of care."
"Right, right with your mini-copy. I swear even out of the wig and the clothes I can still see you in Gwilym. Are you sure you didn't have another child with a different woman besides Chrissie?"
"I'm positive." He assured me.
"Oh and speak of the devil there's your clone now. Why don't you go say hi while I go find the rest of the little rascals." I patted his shoulder and walked off. As I walked along I saw a familiar figure wearing a long blonde hair sitting next to another young man wearing long auburn hair that went past his shoulder.
I shook my head and walked up to them saying.
"God I swear it's like I transported back in time to 1975." They looked up and proclaimed my name. I was soon tackled in a sandwiched by Joe Mazzello and Ben Hardy.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were touring?" asked Ben.
"I was. But Brian decided to do a little surprise visit so I figured since I missed seeing you four so much, I figured I'd tag along and see how it's coming along. So what all have you done since I was last here?"
"We did a scene in Miami's office to represent Queen getting back together before Live Aid, a concert at Madison Square Garden, and the recording studio scene with Mike Myers." Joe explained.
"Now for the next couple of weeks we'll be doing some of the Rockfield farm recordings as well as the Bohemian Rhapsody music video, when Freddie joins Smile, and the "I want to Break free music video." Ben finished.
"Oh now that last one I've got to see for myself." I said grinning ear to ear. "I'll bet you four are gonna rock the drag look just like my boys did. Especially you Ben." I teased as I gently pinched his cheek.
"Yeah Benjamin I can't wait to see you in that skirt." Joe teased as well pinching his other cheek.
"Alright, alright you two enough." He said brushing our hands away and trying to contain his blush. I giggled softly.
"When that day comes, do I got some stories to share with you all about that day."
"We look forward to hearing them." Said Joe.
"And I look forward to telling them. Just let me know if you boys ever get bored of an old woman ranting on about the past."
"Never (y/n). We could never be bored of you. We love having you here, you've given us a lot of support and advice for playing your coworkers and family members." Ben said as he leaned his head against my shoulder.
"Yeah. We could never get bored of you. The day we get bored of you is the day the four of us stop being Queen fanatics. And this movie only keeps increasing our fandom tenfold each and every day." Joe said as he leaned up against my other shoulder.
"Aww you boys are sweet." I kissed Ben's cheek first which made him blush and softly chuckle.
"You lucky dog! I wanna Rock Angel smooch!"
"Then pucker up Joey dear." He puckered up his lips and I leaned in but at the last second I kissed his cheek which made him pout like a child. I laughed and said. "Sorry my dear, but my lips are reserved for one man."
"Can't blame a guy for trying though right?" he asked hopefully.
"No. I guess not. Now Benjamin, if you'll come with me real quick I would like to spend a little one on one time with you." I wrapped an arm around him when Joe said.
"Better not seduce him away from me!"
"Please Joe dear like I'd ever steal a man from you!" I cried back at him. We walked outside and walked towards the cottage. "Ben I've been wanting to ask you something."
"What is it?"
"When we first met; I had mentioned that I was looking forward to seeing you play the drums, but I noticed that you seemed a bit—tense." He froze right there on the spot. I turned towards him and stood in front of him. "Benjamin. Is there something you'd like to share with the class?"
"Well I—uhh.....when I, when I went to auditioned I—might've said that I......knew how to play the drums. But I've....never drummed a day in my life."
"So you lied? You lied and ended up getting the part of playing my only father figure in the world?" I snapped.
"I'm sorry (y/n) I just really wanted the job. But I worked hard and trained over ten hours a day in the 8 weeks rehearsal time before we shot Live Aid. I just love Queen so much and I—"
"Ben." I pressed my finger to his lips. "Relax. I knew you lied the second day of filming. Roger told me."
"Did he mention the prank that Rami tried to pull on me?" I nodded as I hummed. "Damn rat."
"Oh trust me. When it comes to certain secrets, Roger cannot keep them forever. Especially when his lion cub gets involved in wanting to know." I removed my finger and cupped underneath his jawline. "But when I saw you perform the entire Live Aid sequence, it hardly seemed like you hadn't drummed a day in your life. While I don't condone for liars, I appreciate that you took the time to study just how exactly Roger drums."
"It wasn't easy. But he was supportive and he even gave me a mini drum lesson. Of course he had to step back and say 'alright. Show me what you got'."
"That's exactly like Roger. He always did the same to me whenever he gave me a drum lesson. I remember when he taught me how to play 'Don't stop me now' back when I was an intern and he told me to play it all the way through."
"Jesus that's rough."
"Depends on how you look it. Guess I got on the lighter end than you did cause he's always had a soft spot for me. But his heart's always in the right place when he mentors. Just ask his son Rufus. That boy takes everything after his father. Not just his looks but his talent too."
"Yeah. Roger has given me some good pointers on how to strike the cymbals on a certain song. Or how to properly spin the drumsticks."
"Knowing how to keep the heartbeat going. The drums are the center of the band. If one beat is off, the entire song can go to shit."
"That was always his number one rule to playing the drums. Drilled that into my head every time." I sighed reminiscing the old days of my tutorial sessions with my dad. "So he really was like your father?"
"Yeah. Out of all the members of Queen, Roger was the one I was drawn to the most. It also helped that he loved me just as much as I did him. Always there to comfort me at my lowest moments, but there to celebrate and keep me grounded when I was higher than a kite. Roger Taylor has and will always be my papa lion."
"That's so cute you guys called each other that. Anytime you came up in conversation, Roger always called you his lion cub."
"Either that or his lioness. Lioness is more for the moments when my true strength comes into play and I do something world changing. Lion cub is like a private thing between us. God I can't believe I confessed to him being a lion to me when I was drunk. But if I'm being honest, I don't regret it."
"I can see you don't, my little lion cub." I looked at him and he just gave me Roger's cheeky grin and that familiar twinkle in his eyes just made my heart flutter.
"Cheeky." I grinned. He smiled and shrugged playfully.
Yeah I know he may not look exactly like Roger when I met him but there are some mannerisms that Ben has that just made me think of my adoptive father.
We continued to walk into the cottage cause I wanted to see what they did to the inside of it. There I saw Rami sitting by the piano in the now wearing the long black hair that Fred had at the time. Jesus without the tache, he looked more like Freddie than I could ever imagine.
However that happiness soon turned to dread and absolute disgust as soon coming right beside Rami was a young man who looked like someone who I had loathed my entire life. The one man who made my life a living hell throughout my years with Queen, the poison who nearly destroyed Queen and exposed my secret to the boys.
It was Paul Prenter.
Rami and Paul were chatting away with each other and I felt sick to my stomach.
"(Y/n)? You okay?" Ben asked me.
"Excuse me." I muttered as I passed him. I trudged right over towards Rami and shielded him. "Stay. Away. From him you snake!"
"E-excuse me?" he asked confused. "I don't know what you're talking about." Typical Prenter.
"Don't play games with me Prenter! You might've fooled Freddie once but you will not do it again! I lost him because of you. You ruined his life! And I swear to you I will make you pay for it. I'm not that little girl anymore!"
"(Y/n)! (Y/n) calm down. He's not really Paul Prenter." Rami tried to reason with me.
"Freddie please I'm doing this to protect you!" I then gripped the collar of Paul's shirt and dragged him aside. "You lying son of a bitch! How dare you show yourself again!"
"Wait! Wait I'm not Paul Prenter!"
"STOP LYING TO ME!!!"
"(Y/N)! (Y/N) (M/N) KLINE LET. HIM GO!!" I turned to see Brian as well as Joe, Gwilym and Ben along with some of the crew staring at me. Brian stomped towards me and pulled me away from Paul and he said to me in a stern voice. "The real Paul Prenter is dead. He's been dead just as long as Freddie has. That's an actor playing him. Alan Leech."
My adrenaline came down and when I looked at 'Prenter' again to see that it wasn't the Paul Prenter I knew. For one thing this guy was much younger, the tache wasn't as thick as Paul's was, and his eyes weren't as cold as I remembered Prenter's, they shown with absolute fear.
Oh god.....what have I done? I collapsed to the ground trembling with regret as tears formed in my eyes. I buried my face into my arms as I softly wept. It was then I felt Brian's arms wrap around me, his head gently resting on top of mine as he rocked me slowly while I wept.
*3rd Person POV*
Rami, Joe, Gwilym and Ben looked at each other before turning towards Allen who spoke not a word but was just as worried as the four main ensemble cast was. Rami first tried to approach (y/n) but Brian looked up at him and put his hand up and shook his head.
After she went silent, Brian helped her stand up and he walked her over to the car. He allowed her to just sit there and have some time to herself. Once he shut the door, the young actors walked up to Brian and Joe asked.
"Is she gonna be okay?"
"With time. Allen I apologize ever so much but you can't blame (y/n). The real Paul Prenter he—put her through hell when she started off as an intern. One thing he did was extremely unforgivable that I don't see why we ever kept him around."
"Brian, she uhh—I know I shouldn't say this but when she was trying to defend me from Paul, she—actually called me Freddie." Brian sighed solemnly and said.
"She still blames herself."
"What do you mean?" asked Gwilym.
"Come with me lads." Brian led them over to the cottage porch and all of them sat down along either the railings, the porch swing or on the two chairs that were out. "As you know everyone in Freddie's life suffered after his death. Some of us still grieve the way we do like Roger and myself. And there are some who became so fragile like Deacy. (Y/n).....she's always lied on the in between stage. She misses Freddie beyond anything no mistake about that, but then there are days when she blames herself."
"Blames herself?" Rami asked.
"Yes. See, when Freddie first told us that he was diagnosed with AIDS. He wanted to keep it away from (y/n), because her career was skyrocketing, plus she had her own family to look after with Kelly and the twins. Freddie didn't want her to worry about him, but one year when we were all in Montreux recording our last album Innuendo, (y/n) allowed us to stay at a vacation house of hers that she had there. That's when she began to deduce just what was wrong with Fred. He told Roger and myself that the poor dear had blamed herself for not being there for him. Because—well truthfully there was a fallout with Queen and the Rock Angel for a time. Now whether we make that into the film is unknown I know writers are always doing rewrites. But she felt like had she stepped up to Prenter or held onto Freddie just a bit longer before turning her back on him, he would've been alive today."
"Jesus." Muttered Ben.
"Poor lass." Allen muttered.
"But she couldn't have known. None of you did."
"And we didn't. Because Fred didn't want anyone to know. It was his personal business and his alone. And although (y/n) says she accepts that it wasn't her fault, there are some days where she says it is. And any reminder of it just sometimes makes her snap."
"I don't blame her. I—I know exactly what she's going through because of my dad's illness. Anything regarding glioblastoma and I just freak out. But—thanks to these guys I.....don't know where I would be."
"We're here for you mate." Gwil said as he patted Joe's knee.
"So you see guys, this film is bringing back a lot of memories for her. Good and bad. So Allen I really hope you don't take offense to what just happened."
"Not at all Brian. Besides after hearing and probably thinking what the real Paul Prenter did, no wonder why she would get defensive around Rami. I hold no grudge against her."
"Thank you. Just—give her time to cool down and then you all can go see her." The five boys nodded in agreement and took the guitarist's word.
*My POV*
After a while once I calmed down and decided I needed to find young Allen Leech and apologize for my erratic behavior. I got out of the car and dapped my eyes with a handkerchief and walked towards the barn.
"Excuse me, Mrs. Kline. We're—not sure it's a good idea for you to be here right now." Said one of the crew members. That's understandable, I knew it wouldn't be that easy.
"It's not that we don't want you here it's just that, well after seeing what happened between you and Mr. Leech. We—think it'd be best if you were to not be on the set for a while." I sighed and said.
"I understand. I was way out of line. But—can you please express my deepest apologizes to Mr. Leech. As well as the boys."
"You can tell me that yourself." An Irish voice spoke up. It was then I looked up to see the five boys themselves.
"You're not going anywhere." Said Rami.
"Mr. Malek, we....."
"We heard what you said dear. Now step away from our Rock Angel so that the six of us may talk." He came up and took my hand and the boys took me into the cottage.
We came into the kitchen area and Rami gestured for me to sit down. Joe pulled out a chair and I sat down while the boys surrounded me.
"Boys; I—what you all had to witness, I have no excuse for my behavior. I am ashamed that you all had to see me act like that. Especially you Allen dear. I—hope you all can find it in your hearts to forgive me."
"I do. Seeing me remind you of someone who—was just known to be such an arsehole and black sheep in Queen's circle, I can see why you acted the way you did. I would've done the same thing too had I seen someone I hate come back and standing before someone who was once a dear friend of mine." Allen said. He came up to me and extended his hand.
"Why don't we forget this whole mess ever happened and start over? Hello Rock Angel, my name's Allen Leech." I looked up at him and smiled as I took his hand.
"Pleasure to meet you Allen darling. And please like I've told these guys, call me (y/n)." he smiled and that's when I stood up and hugged Allen and he hugged me back.
"Aww now that's sweet." Rami cooed.
"We're all friends now." Joe said with a smile.
"Yes. We're all friends. Now get in here you lot, group hug boys!" they all laughed and cheered as we all came together and group hugged each other. Forming a new bond and a new start with one another.
Thankfully the studio actually managed to let me stay the rest of the day after that whole fiasco (all thanks to the boys but mostly Allen for agreeing to not press charges on me for assault). Of course they warned me that with another outburst like that, not only would I not be allowed on set again, my consultant position would be taken away.
So I was more well behaved than usual after hearing that I would be kicked off the set.
Right now the lads were recording Gwilym's bit for the guitar solo, but what was cool was that the crew decided to allow Brian to play the solo for the fun of it. So as the playback of Freddie's voice came on, Gwilym stepped aside while Brian came in his spot and began playing his guitar solo.
I stood beside Gwilym as we both observed Brian playing the famed Bohemian Rhapsody guitar solo. I even took my phone out and took a video of what was going on. After the solo, Gwilym walked over to Brian and I made sure to get both of them in the shot.
"That's brilliant. I love that." Rami's voice spoke as Freddie from the other side of the recording studio.
"So now what?" asked Gwilym.
"The operatic section." Said Rami. Both Gwilym and Bri nodded. A grin spreading across Gwilym's face as he muttered.
"Ah-huh. The operatic section. Good."
"Of course." Brian said. Jesus just seeing them like this and hearing the same voice come out of them, it really was like we took Bri back from 1975 and brought him here.
When Dexter Fletcher called cut, I stopped my video and said.
"Oh man Jack's gonna flip when he sees this."
"Is he ever gonna come by for a visit?" Brian asked me.
"Yeah I myself would like to meet the famous Jack Kline." Joe said from the other side of the booth.
"Well unlike us where we know when our schedules begin, law enforcement doesn't get days off. Especially when he's going for the Chief's chair. But who knows maybe he might come by for a day if not a few hours."
"I hope so. It's been awhile since we've seen that husband of yours." Brian told me.
"Yeah, I know. Jack misses coming in every day just like the old days."
"I'll bet he does. Or he just misses seeing the love of his life perform and rehearse. Back in the day when you kids first started dating, he'd always have that puppy love look in his eyes as he watched up on stage. Remember the time in Seattle?"
"That was in Houston, Bri. If you're meaning the time he was so distracted by watching me that he almost ended up tripping over the stage, that was in Houston, Texas."
"Oh yeah that's right."
"Alright we've had our fun, now let's do this for real. Gwilym get to your mark. Brian and (y/n), gonna have to ask you both to get out of the shot frame please."
"Good luck Gwilym dear." I said as I gave him a peck on the cheek for luck as Brian handed him his original red special and we both walked out of the frame and stood behind the camera.
The day continued on filming the boys recording the famed song that this movie was named after and I swear to you, it was like I was seeing history happen. Like I was transported back in time to the summer of 1975 and seeing my boys (just five years before they even became my boys, back when I was just one of their millions of fans) record one of my favorite albums.
And even seeing the struggle and perfectionism that Freddie had for this song. Rami truly brought Freddie's perfectionist behavior right onto the camera and it just—had me bewildered. It was like I was seeing Freddie again, hard at work on his masterpiece.
After a long day's filming, Brian and I unfortunately had to head back to the city to actually record an album together that he was helping me produce. Since touring was over for now, the boys and I (yes including Adam) we were all focusing on our solo stuff now till the next tour came around.
And since Bri had some free time after working with a talented young woman, I had asked him to come help produce my latest album 'Resurrection'. Ever since hearing about the Queen film and also hearing that Elton as well was going to make a biopic film, the title was named in honor of their upcoming films.
Because it would show a whole new generation of audiences what their stories were and show them that like a phoenix, Queen and Elton will resurrect because you can't keep down true legendary artists.
So for about 2 weeks Brian helped produce the album and of course he and I would post on our Instagram accounts both pictures of brief videos of some behind the scenes stuff of our partnership together.
"And there she is. Working diligently as ever." I heard Bri said. I looked up from my I-Pad to see him holding his phone, probably taking a video for his collection package he likes to do on certain events on his Instagram.
"Yes and I thought you'd be helping me too."
"I am. I'm your publicity for now, then I'll go back to being your producer." I smiled and laughed as Brian chuckled. He turned his phone onto him as he spoke to his Instagram followers, "As you can see we're both working extremely hard. Now we can't give too much away, but you can expect this album to be just as powerful as her previous albums in the past."
"But we unfortunately have to go now, our special guest on the album has just arrived and like Bri said, I never give away spoilers." I said as I came in the shot now.
"Okay well you heard the Angel ladies and gents, this is us signing off till next time. Bye."
"Bye!" Brian turned off the video camera and exited his account. And just as he pocketed his phone away, my special guest came in through the doors.
"(Y/n)!"
"Pink, my sister how have you been?" Yep you read right. I had reached out to the one and only Pink to come sing a duet with me. For years since she came up on the market, people have confused our voices cause she and I had the same powerful low range vocals.
Our first time doing a duet was—oh gosh I wanna say very early 2000's. I wanna say even just shortly after the 9-11 attack. I wanted to bring up an album that would spark some life and hope into the people of America, my in-laws especially cause when we lost Jared and Gen, the whole family felt like it was gonna come apart.
I auditioned several young female artists to sing along with me but their voices just either weren't right for the album or they sounded too nasally. But when this young woman at the time, an artist barely known came along, it blew me away at how our voices could mold well together.
So with me singing in a higher range and her taking the low range we launched the song 'Death by bombs, (live by hope)'. It was at the #1 charts in America for the entirety of the New York cleanup and became a national anthem. Pink and I were even asked for several years to sing the song every 9-11 for about 9 years.
Now here we are again six years after our last collaboration.
"You ready to do this?" I asked her.
"Angel, I was born ready. Anytime to sing with you is always gonna be a good one."
"Alright then ladies, step into the booth and let's get this song rolling."
"You got it Brian." Pink said enthusiastically as she and I walked with an arm wrapped around each other's shoulders and we walked into the booth together to begin our work.
Another week passed and when I received a message from Ben Hardy telling me that they were about to start filming my all time favorite music video 'I want to break free' I was on the first flight back to England (since I was recording the album in America) to see the shooting for myself.
I walked through the studio and everything came flooding back. The extras in the cow patterned leotards, the design of the music video set but it wasn't until I saw Joe dressed in the same granny attire that Deacy wore that hit me with pure nostalgia.
"Oh my god nana Johanna I did not know you were still alive." I said exasperatedly.
"Yeah, yeah hahaha very funny." Joe sneered.
"No, no Joe don't take my comment as an insult. You look—every ounce from what I remember Deacy looking like the day I came by with my wedding invitations."
"You were passing out wedding invitations during this music video?" he asked me. I nodded with a hum.
"Jack and I decided to come by to see the guys cause I wanted to deliver their invitations personally. And also ask them to walk me down the aisle since—well you probably know."
"Yeah I get it." He said as he came up and placed a hand on my shoulder. "So you really think I looked exactly like John did?"
"Absolutely. All that's missing is a crying girl crying out 'where's daddy! Where's daddy! That's not my daddy'."
"Okay this could be my dirty mind but that sounded—" I playfully slapped him in the back of the head.
"You're right to get your head out of the gutters young man! I was referring to his daughter Laura. I mean I wasn't there to see it, but Veronica had told me just shortly after the shoot that she had brought the kids over to see their father. Of course Michael and Robert were hysterical with laughter, but poor little Laura who was only 4 at the time was crying cause she didn't recognize her dad."
"Awww well if you wanna recreate it, I can call my sister and get my niece on Facetime to see if it'll work."
"As much as I would love to see that, let's not scar your niece up for life. But yeah, Laura kept denying that the old granny was her dad. Until he took off the wig and she recognized her daddy's fluffy hair."
"That is literally the most adorable thing I've ever heard."
"I know. Laura was a sweet kid. She was the one most attached to me when I first met her. She even recreated a bit of my song for my birthday when she was just 3 years old."
"Okay (y/n) seriously stop you're gonna give me cavities at this point." I laughed and said.
"Alright now show me the rest of the boys, I want to see them."
"They all look amazing. Except for Ben." I looked at him skeptically but he just took my hand and led me towards the kitchen part of the set. There I saw Rami by the table in the pink shirt and leather black skirt, sporting the 1950's hairdo and nails that Freddie wore that day. Gwilym by the fridge in the pink nightie and bunny slippers, along with the curlers, and of course Ben in the 'Rogerina' getup.
The same style wig, the schoolgirl outfit with the leggings, the heels. Wow he looked more of a Rogerina than the real Roger did for this music video.
I let out a wolf whistle and that's when the three of them turned towards me.
"Rogerina has returned. The women who makes men drool at her feet and women turn for her. And if my son Freddie were here, honey you would most certainly turn him."
"God (y/n) please stop embarrassing me." Ben whined.
"I shall not. My cousin Rogerina was the talk of the town back home. Of course along with Aunt Brianna and Fairy godmother Frida."
"Is that what you really called the guys when you saw them like this?" asked Gwilym.
"Who do you think started the trend names? Freddie's was—kinda last minute since....well due to certain things going on at that time. But really you guys, I love each and every one of you."
"I'm still disappointed in Ben's look." Joe bluntly stated.
"And why's that?"
"His thighs are too big. Too much rugby."
"Yes Joe I know. I've been trying to slim down as best I could but these thighs man!"
"Not everyone can please everybody Ben. But trust me when I say, fans will love this and will love you as Rogerina. Plus I think you look absolutely beautiful."
"You really think so?"
"Hell yeah. You're still prettier than I am."
"Oh come on now that's never gonna happen. You are an eternal beauty."
"That's what I've been telling her for years." A voice said behind us. No way. It—it couldn't be. I turned around and my ears weren't deceiving me at all.
Dressed in grey shirt with a dark color blazer and dark blue jeans, the greying of his once blonde hair but those warm eyes of his were unmistakable. A wide smile spread across my face as I laughed out and walked towards him.
"Jack!" I hugged him and he hugged me back. I separated but kept my arms wrapped around his neck. "What are you doing here?"
"The case got solved so I figured might as well put some time off and see just what you and Freddie were talking about. So I called up Roger and asked him where the filming was at, and here I am."
"Ohhh you." I leaned forward and we gave each other a loving kiss.
"Awww." We separated from each other and I cleared my throat.
"Whoa. Okay did we just transport back in time?" asked Jack.
"No love. Boys, I'd like you to meet my husband and the love of my life for over 30 years, Jack Kline. Jack, this is Rami Malek, Gwilym Lee, Joe Mazzello and Ben Hardy." I pointed to each of the actors individually.
"It's a pleasure to meet you boys." Jack said with a wave.
"Believe us, it's an honor to meet you Mr. Kline. Brian, Rog and (y/n) have told us many stories about you." said Rami.
"Oh god, if Roger was telling the stories he made me look bad didn't he?" I playfully slapped his chest.
"Not all the time." replied Ben.
"In all seriousness, I must say.....wow this is....."
"I know right? Oh darling just wait till you see the Live Aid sequence Brian managed to record. Don't they just look the part?"
"Yeah. So much so that it's almost scary."
"Ohh and Jack dear, you remember back when George and Jackson were obsessed with Jurassic Park?"
"Lord do I ever. They practically ruined the tape." He said with a groan.
"Well—Joe here, played the young boy Tim in the film." I then saw Jack's jaw drop as he turned towards Joe.
"So you're—you were....."
"Yep. I was little Tim Murphy in Jurassic Park. My first major gig that got my name out there."
"Wow. And seeing you now dressed like this it—you look so much like him." Jack said in awe. I turned to Joe with a 'told you so' look.
"Yeah it was scary to see just how much I looked like him. I even asked my mom if she was up to anything around 1983." Jack laughed.
The rest of the day was spent seeing the boys perform the music video, as well as a couple more stage concerts from both the 70's and 80's. When Jack got to see these four young actors in full Queen costume and hair/makeup, he was blown away. As we were in the back of the extras who were the crowd, Jack kept his arms around me as we watch in awe.
His head leaning against mine as we watched Rami literally become Freddie with every strut, head turn and bent back, se saw Gwilym play a model of the red special guitar just how Brian is known for, Ben working hard in the back with the drums literally playing just like how Roger is known to play. But I know that out of the four of them, Jack was beyond amazed at seeing Joe Mazzello play his former mentor and idol John 'Disco' Deacy.
His bass playing and even doing the funky little moves that John as known to do on a more upbeat song like 'Fat Bottomed girls,' or 'We will Rock you'. We clapped along with the extras and cheered for them. I knew that with what I've seen so far, this movie was going to be—sensational. Just like the band themselves.
Later that night after wrapping for the day, Jack and I were now at home getting ready for bed.
"So, what did you think of it?"
"They picked the right actors. And the right team to work on it. You were right (y/n)."
"Of course I am." I teased.
"Don't get cheeky with me love, you know what I mean. This movie it—it's everything I hoped it would be. I just wonder if—he would've loved it." I looked at my husband empathetically and said so
"He does." I looked out towards the window up at the stars and continued, "They both do." I felt Jack wrap his arm around me and the two of us cuddled up close together and fell right asleep after a long and busy day.

summary: A CUTE LIL FIC ABOUT A SUMMER CAMP CLOSING AND A WEEKEND GETAWAY, A SLOW BURN FIC
pairing: platonic obx cast x y/n, eventual drew starkey x reader
word count: 1.7k
a/n: so i didn’t want to write about (redacted) being rudy’s gf since i know like 3/4′s of the fandom is not a fan of her so i made up an oc and yes.... she’s me. i also gave jd a gf too, just go with it bc he deserves just as much love. also i have no idea if madison used to work at a summer camp, pls don’t question it
When Madison walks into the hair and makeup department of set one morning, you can immediately tell she’s upset.
“What’s up, buttercup?” you ask as she sits down in her usual chair. She lets out a long sigh and you frown as you take her hair out of the top knot sitting on top of her head, wondering what’s got her in such a bad mood.
“I just found out the summer camp I used to work at is closing down,” she rests her cheek on her palm and pouts. “I know it’s silly to be upset about it but I really loved it there, it was a big part of my life. Kinda felt like a place I grew up is just getting torn down.”
“It’s not silly,” you reassure her quickly, giving her shoulder a quick squeeze in attempt to comfort her. “I loved summer camp, I can see why you’re so upset.”
“I just wish I could at least go say goodbye to it,” Madison sighs again before looking down at her hands. You’re quiet for a few seconds as you begin to think, the silence filling the trailer uncomfortably.
“Well then, why don’t you?” you ask. She looks up immediately at your reflection in the mirror with her nose scrunched up in confusion.
“What are you talking about?” she asks.
“Filming for this season is almost over, you’ve got a lot of time on your hands. Why don’t you go spend a weekend or something? I’d even go with you! It could be tons of fun!” you smile brightly at her. Madison turns around to look at your face, her eyes bright and full of hope.
“Really? You’d do that?” she asks, her voice about to break. You nod rapidly.
“What’s going on in here?” Madelyn asks as she walks into the trailer, you assume Chase isn’t far behind her.
“Y/N and I are gonna take a trip to the old summer camp I used to work with, you should come!” Madison says, her voice now happy and full of life.
“Is this just a girls trip? Because if so, you know I will be crashing,” Rudy’s voice startles you, you turn around and see him sitting in the back of the trailer and you wonder how long he had been sitting there or how you didn’t notice him before.
“Why don’t we all go?” Madison suggests. “Cline, Chase, JD, Y/N, Mariah, Rudy you could even bring Lily if you wanted.”
“That sounds like so much fun!” Madelyn says as she jumps up and down and claps her hands excitedly.
Rudy smiled at the mention of his girlfriend. “JD will want to bring Tayla too,” he points out.
“That’s totally fine.”
“Great, I’ll be the only single one there,” you let out a laugh, Madison hits you in the stomach lightly with the back of her hand.
“Shut up, it will still be fun,” she assures you and you nod along with her words.
“I know, I can’t wait!”
Tumblr media
About a week goes by when suddenly you find yourself packing all your summer essentials in one suitcase and sleeping soundly in a car as you and all your loud friends make your way to what Madison had described as ‘a little piece of my childhood.’ You were excited, really, but watching all the cute couples around you made your heart sink. Sure, you were all happy for them, but you wanted someone to experience a summer romance with you too.
“So I talked to the guy who owns the camp,” Madison explains as she turns around in the front seat to look back at the rest of you. “He said that he left a lot of the old equipment there and that we’re free to use any of it since it’s probably just gonna be donated at the end of the summer anyway.”
“What kind of equipment are we talking about?” Rudy calls from the very back seat.
“Fishing poles, bunk beds, oh and did I mention jet skis?” Madison smiles which causes the whole car to erupt in loud cheers.
“What did you wanna do first, baby?” Mariah asks as she looks over at her girlfriend. Madison reaches over and grabs her hand.
“I think we should settle in first, unpack and get everything ready, then we can go for a good old fashioned swim in the lake. After it gets dark out maybe we could have a bonfire and make s’mores or something?”
“That sounds amazing,” Mariah smiles.
The ride continues on, the sound of all your friends conversations are drowned out by your headphones. Eventually you feel a soft shake of your shoulder and open your eyes only to realize you had fallen asleep on Jonathan’s shoulder.
“Sorry,” you mumble, your cheeks growing an intense shade of red as you took off your headphones.
“No big deal,” JD lifts his shoulders into a shrug. “I just wanted to wake you up since we’re here.” You look out the window and see a bright red cabin sitting under the sun.
You smile and immediately jump out of the car, shielding your eyes from the brightness as you take in your surroundings. It looks just like a cliche summer camp with an arch over the cabin door that says the camp name. You get a feeling you’re on the set of a bad 80′s horror movie.
“So where are we staying?” Chase asks as he pulls suitcases out from the back of the van. You can’t tell if hes being sarcastic or not, considering the bright red double story cabin standing proudly in front of you.
“This is where the counselors would stay,” Madison explains as she gestures to the large building. “And the campers would stay a little farther down. The counselors have a bit more privacy and it’s nicer but technically speaking if you wanna be alone you can stay in the campers cabin.”
“Can we go look at the campers cabins?” you perk up. Madison turns to look at you with her nose scrunched slightly in confusion “As much as I love all of you guys, I don’t really wanna be rooming with only couples and hearing what you guys get up to in the middle of the night.” this causes Rudy to laugh.
“No, you definitely do not,” he agrees as he wraps his arms around his girlfriend whose face you notice is getting significantly pinker. JD lets out a gag.
“Yeah, I can show you the way to those cabins. Are you sure you want to be all alone though? It can get a little scary at night,” Madison asks you, her voice suddenly full of concern. You purse your lips together and nod your head.
“Yeah, I mean how bad can it really be?”
Tumblr media
Bad, the answer to that question was.
It turns out unpacking and settling in took much longer than expected and you were all exhausted by the end of it, plus the sun had already gone down so there was no point in trying to go swimming and you were all too tired to start a fire. So you all just decided to call it a night.
And being alone in the campers cabin was definitely not a good idea.
First off, it was freezing at night so you were left to wrap yourself up tightly in your blankets. Secondly, it was so loud. The animals outside decided it would be a good idea to scream outside your window so you were left listening to owls and wolves howl the entire night. However you would have much rather preferred those noises to the ones you were sure were coming from Rudy and Lily’s room.
And lastly, no one talks about how scary it is to be alone at night.
You thought you hadn’t been scared of being alone at night since you were a little kid. Turns out old habits really die hard. You were sure someone was going to burst through the front door and put a bag over your head and drag you off into the night with you kicking in screaming. So naturally this resulted in you having horrible nightmares and a bad nights sleep. But you refused to tell that to your friends when you met up for breakfast in the morning.
“Hey, how did everyone sleep?” Madison greets, holding her cup of coffee with both hands and close to her face in attempts to warm herself up.
“Great!” Rudy announces, his mouth full of his breakfast.
“From the sounds and looks of it, you didn’t get much sleep did you?” you tease him, looking over at Lily who has tired eyes and is in the middle of a yawn. Rudy shrugs.
“What about you, y/n? How was your experience alone out in the campers cabin?” JD perks up, desperate to change the subject.
“From the sounds of it, I think I slept better than all of you guys combined,” you joked even though it was a complete lie. Everyone in the group laughs.
“Are we ready to go swimming?” Chase asks, throwing his napkin down on his plate.
“Aren’t we supposed to wait 30 minutes until after eating to go swimming?” Mariah asks.
“Isn’t that bullshit?” Madelyn rebuttals.
“LAST ONE IN THE WATER IS A ROTTEN EGG!” Rudy calls as he stands up and runs out of the room, JD running quickly after them which causes Tayla and Lily to yell for them.
“None of us are wearing our bathing suits!”

Eventually, everyone did make it down to the water. Rudy ended up beating JD in their mini race which resulted in JD pushing him off the dock which made everyone laugh, even Lily. Everyone else jumped in the water after that and were swimming around for a while before someone spoke up.
“Are we expecting anyone else?” Lily asked.
“No, why?” Madison asked. Lily points to the front of the camp where another car is pulling up. Turns out, this is a campy horror movie which will result in your death.
“Is that-” Chase starts. “No way, he said he couldn’t make it this weekend.”
“Who? What? What are you guys talking about?” you ask as you examine everyones faces and notice it was someone they all recognized. Then, out of the car, wearing swim trunks and a button up, steps out one of your close friends.
“I finished up filming early, now the fun has arrived!” Drew yells, causing you to smile.
Looks like you won’t be the only single one on this trip after all.
