Hug - Caoimhin Kelleher
Who: Caoimhin Kelleher Prompt: "I could use a hug." Requested by: anonymous Word count: 331 Warnings: mentions of being sad
Tumblr media
It hadn't been his match. Far from it even. Caoimhin was painfully aware of the mistakes he had made in goal today, and how that quite possibly had led directly to Liverpool's defeat tonight.
You immediately heard how dejected he was when he came home. It was in the way he dragged his feet and how he dropped his bag to the floor with a loud 'clunk'.
Caoimhin slowly walked into the living room, where you were waiting for him. It was already way past your bedtime, but you were expecting him to need some comfort after the disaster that was tonight's match, so you had waited up for him.
The moment your lay eyes upon him, you saw how Caoimhin was even more sad and beaten down than you'd expected. "Oh, sweetie." You got to your feet. "Is there anything I can do for you?" Caoimhin shrugged slowly. "I could use a hug." "That can easily be arranged." You smiled warmly. "Come here."
You opened your arms and Caoimhin quickly cuddled into them. He nuzzled his face against your shoulder, his blonde hair tickling your neck in a pleasant way. You lovingly wrapped your arms around him, holding him close to you in a futile attempt to make him feel better. "It's alright," you mumbled soothingly, "I know it's hard now, but it will be alright."
Caoimhin stood in your arms for a long while. He didn't move, simply kept his face buried in your shoulder and savored the feeling of your arms lovingly and protectively around him.
Finally, he took a deep breath and slowly pulled out of your embrace. You looked at his face. He still wore and exhausted and dejected expression, but somehow he seemed a little calmer, too. "It's late." You spoke softly. "Come to bed with me." Caoimhin nodded slowly. "There's plenty more hugs for you there." You reached for his hand. A tired smile carefully tugged at Caoimhin's lips. "I will definitely need that."

Qatar World Cup: Assessing the form of Republic of Ireland players ahead of September Football World Cup qualifiers
Stephen Kenny has a lot to contemplate in front of naming the Republic of Ireland crew for the forthcoming Football World Cup 2022 qualifiers against Portugal, Azerbaijan, and Serbia.  The chief is relied upon to name his Ireland crew for the triple-header on Thursday and he will absolutely have been satisfied with how a portion of his charges have begun the season once again in England.
Fans from all over the world are called to book Football world Cup tickets from our online platforms WorldWideTicketsandHospitality.com. Football World Cup fans can book Republic Of Ireland Football World Cup Tickets on our website at exclusively discounted prices.
Tumblr media
One worry for fans will be the level that a portion of our players is carrying out their specialty, with new Wigan Athletic enlist James McLean joining any semblance of Troy Parrott, Ronan Curtis, and Gavin Bazunu at League One level for the span of this season.  It's not difficult to imagine a situation where Captain Seamus Coleman is the solitary standard Irish starter in the Premier League this season, despite the fact that Ciaran Clark and Shane Duffy may have a remark regarding that.
In any case, we should make the best of what we have. In front of the outing to Portugal (September first) and the home matches against Azerbaijan (September fourth) and Serbia (September seventh), here's a lowdown on how Stephen Kenny's men have been faring from the get-go in the mission.
(Long haul injury non-attendants, for example, Enda Stevens and Jason Knight have not been remembered for our gather together.)
Ireland Goalkeepers.
Darren Randolph
An Ireland ordinary since 2015, the West Ham goalkeeper has figured out playing opportunity difficult to arrive by at club level as of late. For more to know about Football World Cup Tickets Click here
Tumblr media
Alphonse Areola's landing in the London Stadium has driven him further down the hierarchy and with some certified goalkeeping ability breathing down his neck at the global level (see beneath), the 34-year-old's place in the middle of the Ireland sticks is most likely under danger.
Gavin Bazunu
Out of all of Stephen Kenny's goalkeepers, apparently, Bazunu is the best spot at this moment.
The 19-year-old Dubliner is borrowed at Portsmouth in League One and has effectively had an effect, keeping three progressive clean sheets in his initial three games. He has begun the previous four games for his nation and hasn't actually put a foot wrong, while likewise intriguing with his association and correspondence.
Caoimhin Kelleher
Actually like transports, it seems top-notch goalkeepers go along two all at once. Kelleher is one of three Liverpool managers to have marked long haul bargains at the club this late spring, with the Corkman secures himself to an additional five years.
The best option Alisson Becker has put to pen to paper on a six-year bargain and until further notice, his quality in the Anfield objective won't be one Kelleher can surpass without any problem.
Ireland crew: Defenders.
Tumblr media
Seamus Coleman
Kenny's skipper and go-to man. In the event that he remains fit, Coleman will be customary in the Everton right-back opening under the new system of Rafael Benitez. For more to know about Football World Cup Tickets Click here
A club commander just as a worldwide one, he turned out to be only the fourteenth Irish player to show up in the initial end of the week prevail upon Southampton. The 32-year-old has shown the absolute best type of his profession since supporting a genuine injury in 2017 while playing for Ireland against Wales.
Shane Duffy
After a hopeless spell borrowed at Celtic, Duffy is once again at Brighton and Hove Albion and has gotten straight down to business. The Derryman put in a man-of-the-match execution in the first day of the season triumph at Burnley and followed that up with an objective and a perfect sheet in Saturday's success over Watford.
James McCarthy
Will have a spring in his progression having as of late finished paperwork for childhood club Celtic. In any case, it appears to be that the solid McCarthy, alongside any semblance of Brady and Hendrick, has been supplanted by more youthful models in the Ireland director's arrangements. Could see some game time over the three matches, but restricted.
Ireland crew: Forwards.
Tumblr media
Cullum Robinson
Our own personal CR7 is in a rich vein of structure as he gets ready to face Portugal's rendition.
He has scored three objectives in West Brom's initial four rounds of the period and could well be called upon to lead the line against Portugal on September 1. With one Ireland objective in 18 appearances, however, Robinson is as yet standing by to discover his shooting boots in a green shirt.

Goalkeeper Headache for Klopp after freak injury to Adrian
Tumblr media
Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is doubtful for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Southampton after sustaining a freak injury while celebrating their UEFA Super Cup victory over Chelsea, manager Juergen Klopp said on Friday.   Adrian, signed on a free transfer earlier this month, only came into the side to fill in for first-choice keeper Alisson who suffered a calf injury in the opening Premier League victory over Norwich City last week.   The Spaniard became a club hero only days after joining by blocking Tammy Abraham’s penalty to hand Klopp’s side a 5-4 shootout victory on Wednesday.   However, he was left with a swollen ankle after a supporter who invaded the pitch to join in their celebrations slipped and kicked his foot.     “When we were all together (celebrating after the match), a supporter jumped over something, was chased by some security guys, slipped and kicked his (Adrian’s) ankle,” Klopp told a news conference.   “So yesterday it was swollen — today it is better, but we have to see… it would help him a lot if it was 100% clear he can play tomorrow… it’s not funny. “He will not go for a scan. We wait for the swelling to go down. It went down already. “You can imagine, you have that and then you fly four hours back and that doesn’t help swelling.” The setback leaves Liverpool short of their two main keepers, but Klopp said back-ups Andrew Lonergan and Caoimhin Kelleher were ready if needed. “We need to think about Saturday to find a way to win the game. Andy Lonergan is in training with Kelleher and we have them if we have to make a decision,” Klopp said. “Adrian was a week before, Lonergan has trained with us. Kelleher has potential but is not 100 per cent yet. We’ll see.” Midfielder Naby Keita was also ruled out after picking up a muscle strain ahead of the clash with Chelsea.   Read the full article

Adrian breaks silence on freak Chelsea injury as Liverpool sweat on keeper for Southampton | Football | Sport
The Reds return to Premier League action with a trip to St Mary’s to take on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton.
Liverpool were only last in action on Wednesday night, defeating Chelsea in humid conditions in the UEFA Super Cup after being taken to penalties following a 2-2 draw after extra time.
The two Premier League clubs could not be split after 120 minutes and Adrian saved from Tammy Abraham to win the penalty shootout for the Merseyside outfit.
But after becoming the hero for Liverpool, the Spanish goalkeeper suffered a freak ankle injury during the post-match celebrations.
As a fan sprinted on to the pitch to join in with the players, he was tackled by a security guard and slid into Adrian, colliding with the shot-stopper’s ankle.
Jurgen Klopp revealed on Friday morning: “Yesterday it was swollen. Today I spoke to him and he said it is better, much better than yesterday, but we have to see.
“He will not go for a scan. We wait for the swelling to go down. It went down already. You can imagine, you have that and then you fly four hours back and that doesn’t help swelling.
“He could not have played directly after we landed in Liverpool, but I saw him now, he is OK and it looks better, but the decision will be made tomorrow – there is no chance to make it early.”
But former West Ham keeper Adrian has offered hope he will be available against the Saints.
Opening up on his knock, Adrian told Liverpool’s official website: “Today I feel much better. It was a strange, weird situation because we were celebrating between us and one guy jumped from the crowd and started running.
“I think he slipped in front of us and also the security with him and made me a tackle from the side. It was a bit of a strange situation but I feel much better today and I hope [I’m] ready for tomorrow.”
Asked how confident he feels of being passed fit to face Southampton, Adrian added: ”Yeah, I think I have many chances.
“I feel mentally ready and I also hope today with the treatment of the ankle it’s going to be much better.
“But I’m very optimistic to start playing tomorrow again.”
Adrian only made his Liverpool debut last weekend, stepping in after first-choice keeper Alisson Becker was forced off in the first half of a 4-1 win over Norwich City with a calf problem.
Academy goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, meanwhile, is only just recovering from a broken wrist with another of the club’s youth keepers – Vitezlav Jaros – having missed pre-season with an elbow ligament strain.
That means 35-year-old veteran Andy Lonergan, who was recruited to help out in Liverpool’s pre-season programme and played 45 minutes against Sevilla, could be drafted in despite having never featured at top flight level and having last played for Rochdale in League One in late March.
Discussing Kelleher’s fitness on Friday morning, Klopp said: “Caoimhin Kelleher is now in training, so if we have to make a decision then we have to make a decision.
“Adrian came in a week before, Andy Lonergan trained longer with us and played [the] first half against Sevilla in a pre-season game.
“Caoimhin, who we all are completely excited about, a young boy with the potential he has and stuff like that, was not in training for a while, but is now in training – not 100 per-cent training, but nearly 100 per-cent since a week and a half [ago].
“He has to be in training today, we will see and then we will make a decision.”

Comfort - Caoimhin Kelleher
Who: Caoimhin Kelleher Request: U are the only one I know that writes for Caoimh, so please do one about him and the atalanta game and where reader comforts him after the loss and its all very sweet or smth. Requested by: anonymous Word count: 462 Warnings: slight mentions of bruising. Contains descriptions of being sad.
A/N: I know my requests are closed, but this was sent in anyway and it just kind of poured out of me the moment I read the request. So, there you go 😁
Tumblr media
Nothing, absolutely nothing about this match had gone right. Liverpool had lost, driving them to the brink of elimination from the Europa League, he had let in three goals, and to make matters even worse: Caoimhin had taken a ball hard to the face when trying to make a save.
You were already in bed when Caoimhin came home. You weren't asleep, but sat up reading, knowing he would probably need some TLC after this difficult night.
Caoimhin quietly shuffled into your bedroom, only humming softly as a greeting. He just took the time to change into some shorts and a T-shirt for the night, before he defeatedly lay himself down in bed next to you.
"Let me see." You gently took his chin in your hands to have a look at the obvious black eye he was sporting from where the ball had hit his cheek. "It's sore," Caoimhin mumbled, but the doctors don't think I broke anything or have a concussion." "Well, at least that's some good news," you answered. Caoimhin scoffed softly, rearranging his body under the covers. "That seriously is the only good news. All the rest was a downright nightmare." "Do you want to talk about it?" You softly prompted. Caoimhin shook his head. "No."
You watched his beaten down appearance, made even more pronounced by the bruising on his face. "Come here." You pulled one of the smaller pillows towards you and placed it on your stomach. Caoimhin didn't need any further explanation, and didn't need to be asked twice either. He scooted over, lying down even closer to you, and rested his head on the pillow on your stomach.
His hands silently twisted around your pajamas, as you slung an arm around him. You didn't say anything, nor did he, but right now that was all Caoimhin needed: peace and quiet after a nightmarish evening.
You continued reading your book, whilst your fingers softly combed through his hair and curled around strands of his blonde locks. You didn't know for how long the two of you just lay there, silently. Slowly, you felt Caoimhin relax beside you. The tensed muscles grew softer, and his breathing got more tranquil. His head felt heavier on your stomach and he lay absolutely still now.
"Caoimh?" You whispered after a while. No reaction whatsoever came, and you knew he had fallen asleep. Very careful not to wake him, you put away your book and switched off the reading light. As best as you could, you slouched down a little lower, but made sure Caoimhin still lay comfortably with his head on your stomach. You ran your fingers through his hair one final time, before pressing a soft kiss to his head. "Sleep tight, sweetie, it's going to be alright."

Storm - Caoimhin Kelleher
Who: Caoimhin Kelleher Prompt: "It's just a storm." Requested by: anonymous Word count: 235 Warnings: none
Tumblr media
You never were a big fan of storms. They always made you feel extremely uneasy and sometimes even a little scared.
Today, the first storm of that autumn was raging outside. The heavy rain lashed against the windows, as the strong winds swirled and whistled around your house. The sky lit up regularly with lightning, and you startled every time a loud clap of thunder followed.
"You’re restless." Caoimhin noticed how you couldn’t sit still for one minute. He himself was perfectly at ease, sitting on the sofa and reading a book. "It’s the storm," you grumbled, "I don’t like it." "I can assure you we are not getting blown away," Caoimhin winked. You chuckled softly. "It’s not that. It’s the noise, it scares me."
Caoimhin looked at you for a few seconds, before motioning for you to come to him. You accepted without hesitation and snuggled against him on the sofa. Caoimhin wrapped his strong arms around you, as you rested your head against his chest.
A particularly violent burst of wind rattled the windows of your living room, which made you grab a tight hold of Caoimhin’s shirt. "It’s okay." He gently stroked your hair. "It's just a storm. Nothing’s going to happen." "I know," you grumbled, "but I'll still be glad when it's over." Caoimhin chuckled softly, kissing the top of your head. "Until then you can stay right here with me."

FA Cup loss - Caoimhin Kelleher
Who: Caoimhin Kelleher, Jurgen Klopp Request: plz do one with caoimhin where is he sad about losing the fa cup semi final and feels bad for letting in those goals. Could u do the caoimhin request with kloppo? Requested by: anonymous Word count: 581 Warnings: contains descriptions of being sad.
Tumblr media
The atmosphere around the team was one of disappointment after Liverpool had been eliminated from the FA Cup in the final minutes of the match. They could have had it, they should have had it, everyone realized that.
Klopp wandered somewhat aimlessly through the hallways of Old Trafford, waiting for his team to finish showering and changing, and to start their journey back to Liverpool. In a few days they would come to appreciate that they surely hadn't gone down without a fight, but that wasn't just yet.
Klopp strolled down another empty corridor. Hands held loosely together behind his back and gaze directed at the floor as he let his thoughts roam over the match. He passed the open door to an empty room. Or at least: he believed it was empty at first, but from the corner of his eye he spotted something that made him double-back.
"Caoimhin?" Klopp was astounded to find his goalkeeper sitting on the floor of the otherwise empty room. With his back against the wall, match kit still on and head hanging low in defeat, it was quite a sad sight.
"What are you doing here?" Klopp slowly approached the goalkeeper, lowering himself onto his haunches in front of him. "I needed to be alone," Caoimhin answered brokenly. Klopp nodded. "I can understand that feeling, but... here?" Caoimhin shrugged, head still bent low. "Like the others want to be around me."
Klopp frowned. He knew the rest of the team felt defeated and disappointed, but Caoimhin looked downright distraught. "You're blaming yourself for our loss." Klopp bluntly voiced the process he realized was going on in the Irishman's head. Caoimhin gave another one-shouldered shrug. "Why shouldn't I? I mean, I let in all those goals."
Klopp wanted nothing more than to grab his young goalkeeper by the shoulders and shake that nonsense out of his head, but he knew that wasn't the way to go. "You don't lose a match on your own," Klopp instead spoke, "no one on this team blames you for this loss." "I do," Caoimhin grumbled back. Klopp chuckled wryly, before his tone turned very serious. "I know you do, but I can't have that. We've got big matches coming up, so we need you back. We can't afford to have you get lost in your head right now."
Caoimhin looked up at his coach, eyes filled with all kinds of emotion as he understood the sincerity of those words. He took a deep breath before he spoke. "I'll be back, I promise." "I know you will." Klopp clasped Caoimhin's shoulder. "And trust me when I say that tonight is nowhere near your fault." Caoimhin ran a hand through his hair and took another deep breath. "Maybe tomorrow I'll agree with you on that," he scoffed.
Klopp rose back to his feet, and Caoimhin slowly got up as well. "Go change." Klopp smiled in a fatherly way. "We're going home." Caoimhin nodded wearily. "That sounds like music to my ears."
Caoimhin stepped passed Klopp, but was stopped by his coach before he could leave the room. "I mean it, Caoimhin, this loss isn't on your shoulders," Klopp comforted, "and I can't emphasize enough how wonderful you've been for us these past weeks. And that includes tonight."
The hint of a smile pulled at the corners of Caoimhin's mouth. The worst of the darkness in his mind cleared upon hearing those words. "Thank you," he answered sincerely, "that means a lot."

The Medic #17 - Caoimhin Kelleher
About the series: The Medic is an anthology-like series about the reader working for the medical team of the club / national team. Each chapter will feature a different setting/scenario and a different player.
Who: Caoimhin Kelleher Prompt: Hand / wrist injury Requested by: anonymous Word count: 725 Warnings: contains descriptions of injury.
Tumblr media
Caoimhin somehow managed to make the save from their opponent's corner kick, but in the hustle and bustle he fell to the ground. He got caught between the many trampling feet. Somehow he managed to evade being trampled, until someone landed, full force, on his hand.
You heard Caoimhin's cry of pain over all the noises in the stadium. He wasn't one to fake or exaggerate an injury, so you immediately knew this wasn't good. You hardly waited for the referee's sign that you, as medic, were allowed onto the pitch, or you were already sprinting for the stricken goalkeeper.
Caoimhin lay curled up on his side when you reached him, cradling his injured, still gloved hand. You knelt down beside him, gently resting a hand on his side. "Show me your hand." You didn't even need to ask where the injury was.
Caoimhin slowly unfurled himself, before sitting up. He still cradled his injured hand and a look of pain was etched onto his face. At first glance, this didn't look too good. Caoimhin clearly was in a lot of pain and he wasn't moving his injured hand at all. Caoimhin must be thinking along the same lines, because he slowly shook his head. "Can we do the examination inside?" He asked dejectedly. "I already know I can't go on. This hurts too bad, it's not good." "Of course," you nodded. You quickly packed up your things and helped Caoimhin to his feet.
---
Once back inside, you led Caoimhin to the small treatment room that served as your workspace, and sat him down. You pulled a wheeled stool closer, sitting down upon it in front of him.
"I'm afraid that glove is going to have to come off," you said apologetically. There was no doubt that that would be painful for Caoimhin, something he himself knew all too well, too. "I feared you were going to say that." Caoimhin huffed. "But you can't just pull it off. It'll hurt too much, I can't take that..." A strong look of fear took hold in his eyes. "Easy, easy," you soothed, "I've got just the thing for that."
You rummaged around in your bag and pulled out a pair of scissors. "I'm not promising it will be pain-free, but hopefully it will hurt less." Caoimhin laid out his gloved hand on the treatment table. He looked ill at ease still, but slightly less frightened.
You very gently and carefully cut through the fabric of his keeper's glove. It was a good thing your scissors were sharp, because the thick and sturdy fabric made it difficult to cut. Caoimhin often winced, especially when you had to slightly move his hand.
"I broke it, right?" Caoimhin asked after a particularly loud wince had escaped his lips. The look on his face betrayed that he was in a lot more pain than he was trying to let on. You thought about your answer for a second before speaking. "Given the amount of pain you're experiencing, that's a very real possibility." Caoimhin swallowed hard, but you could see that he also appreciated the honesty.
Finally, you cut through the last of the fabric and gently took the glove off Caoimhin's hand. He gulped audibly at the sight of his bare hand. There was a big lump on the back of his hand, and a bruise was already starting to form. You frowned. Even at a glance you concluded that your first guess of Caoimhin having broken his hand, was very likely.
"Can you wiggle your fingers?" You asked. Caoimhin tried, and managed to move his fingers a little bit, before he gave up with a pained whimper. He hung his head with a defeated sigh.
"This means X-rays, right?" Caoimhin mumbled. "Yeah." It broke your heart seeing him this sad, but part of your job was being honest to the players and sometimes bringing the bad news. "We'll be taking you to the hospital to get the X-rays done."
Caoimhin looked up at you. The look in his eyes held a mixture of fear and pain. "Will you... will you..." He stammered. "...come with me?" "Would you want me to?" You turned the question back at him. Caoimhin nodded a little embarrassed. "Yes, please." You rested a hand on his back to reassure him. "Than I will go with you."
