Last Song: Paint the Town Blue by Ashnikko - Arcane season 2 has me in a VICE GRIP

Favorite Color: I like all colors, but I'm partial to yellows and greens. My room has a dark green accent wall with lots of gold, so. Best of both worlds.

Last Book: I'm currently listening to Percy Jackson: The Last Olympian. I never got to finish the second series, but it's been YEARS so I needed a refresher. And I love these books so much, but I'm glad to be on the last Percy book because the narrator is not good. He just isn't. It's bad. I need them to re-record them because my god.

Last Movie: Miracle on 34th Street. The one with Mara Wilson. It's cute but I was profoundly irritated with the assertion the movie makes that Christianity is the default American religion, so idk if I'll be watching it again aaaany time soon.

Last TV Show: I am currently watching an episode of The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. It's like a docuseries documenting his adventures. I guess he's traditionally a terminal homebody so he started doing this to get out and see the world.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Spicy that's sweet. Like in Mexican candies. My favorite right now are tamarind flavor candies covered in tajin. It's so good.

Relationship Status: Single! It's been a few years since my last relationship, but honestly I'm okay with that. I had a LOT of growing to do that I didn't realize I had to do until a couple traumatic events occurred and I had some trauma responses rear their ugly heads. After several years of therapy I'm hitting the point where I'm ready to start dating again, but I'm weirdly in between jobs right now and I don't wanna be one of those unemployed people on a dating app. So I'm waiting till I'm in a more secure financial position so I can contribute to dates and being in a relationship.

Last Thing I Searched: "Man hand." I needed a drawing reference and my hands are not. Knuckley(?) enough. They look too...round, for lack of a better word.

Current Obsession: Pinterest has this fun new collage feature where you can collage images together and I've done several in the past few days. Which is nice cuz I've had some artist block, and I think it's helping me wanna do it in the 3D meat space again. I have weird feelings about it because art theft is rampant on Pinterest, but I'm not doing anything with them so I don't feel too bad. I'm just making them and sending them to friends if they're funny...which, y'know...most of them are because I can't take anything seriously.

Looking Forward To: I'm starting a tattoo apprenticeship (hopefully really soon). This is why I'm weirdly between jobs. I'm going crazy because I'm excited to start but it's not on my timeline rn so I have to be patient. But I have never been good at that. 🥲

Favorite Drink: BAJA BLAST ME, CAP'N

Current Favorite Character: Ambessa Medarda. Again, Arcane has a hold on me and Ambessa is tall and muscular and maybe a little mean but it's okay because I support women's rights and wrongs 😌

Fun Activity You Would Like to Get Into: Honestly I wanna learn some sort of martial art. Boxing, kickboxing, jiu jitsu etc...I wanna hit someone and/or get hit. Like a normal person does.

Last Video Game: Dragon Age: The Veilguard. I'm on my second playthrough and I so far have really, really enjoyed it. It's not perfect, but it's fun. That's all I care about.

Last Comic/Graphic Novel: Oh it was either The Adventure Zone: The Suffering Game or a graphic novel I backed on Kickstarter a while ago about Artemisia Gentileschi. I can't remember the title right now, but it's lovely.

God, every time he opens his mouth I get more embarrassed that I voted for him over Hillary in the primary.

As a friend on Twitter said, primaries are where you vote your heart. General elections are where you vote your head. I don’t know how much truth there is in the assertion the Sanders campaign pulled Clinton leftward (I think that was more activists in general), but every little bit helps I guess? (Not that Sanders had any actual plans in place to do all the shit he said wanted to do, but WHATEVER. 2016 is done, and we can look forward to 2020.)

Thank you all so much for your kind messages. Good lord, I wish I could go back in time and tell 19-year-old me all of what you said, and everything I know now. 

I’m still a little raw, because writing about that dragged out a lot of other stuff -- which isn’t a bad thing, necessarily; I’m fine with letting those memories shrivel up and die in the sun, instead of having them hiding in my head, ready to jump when my guard is down. But it does mean a few hard nights, and a lot of writing my way out. 

(The way out has always been the same.)

I love you all, so darn much, and if I could hug you all, I would. Thank you again, for being so kind, and so generous. <3<3

For breakfast: Camel's eye

You cut a hole in the middle of a piece of bread, crack an egg in it, and fry it all together.  I mainly just use a cup base to get a nice circle.  Sprinkle some cheese on and you're good to go. Very easy breakfast and yummy.

Last Song: "The Diary of Jane" by Breaking Benjamin. It still goes hard, okay.

Favorite Color: Purple, particularly cool-toned shades. I also like blues and greens a lot.

Last Book: Fairy Tale by Stephen King. I haven't finished it yet because I hit a part where my favorite character won't show up again for about another hundred pages, which killed my motivation. But I want to pick it up again soon.

Last Movie: The Hunt for Red October. My IRL friend group has a weekly movie night and this was last week's pick. I was pretty bored by it, but that's just because it's not my type of movie.

Last TV Show: ARCANE. Literally the best TV show I have ever watched and I'm not sure how my brain is going to handle the final three episodes this Saturday.

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: Hmm, I think sweet. I've always had a sweet tooth, and though my sweet tolerance has diminished some as I've gotten older, I still love chocolate, ice cream, cookies, cake, and other sweets. Gimme those desserts 💜

Relationship Status: Single! And pretty OK with that at the moment. Like if I meet someone and we hit it off that's cool, but I'm also not actively looking right now. I've got Stuff Going On™️, you see.

☀️ what do you like the most about your best friend?

Okay two best friend sized barrels of love coming right up.

My other half! I usually have to blunder through a friendship for months while I consider somebody a friend and they consider me an acquaintance, but with her it’s just BOOM. Friends! It’s so wonderful to always feel like I’m on the same wave length as somebody else in this world. There aren’t a lot of people who can easily understand (or deal with) my rambling stories followed by long silences, who will listen to my intensely annoying taste in music for days at a time (go listen to Colorado Cool-Aid by Johnny Paycheck NOW) nor are there many I’d want to go camping in Canada’s wilderness with, but she is that person to me. To be loved is to be understood, and I feel like her and I understand each other at a molecular level.

My other best friend is such a lil ball of good vibes. Every time she comes to see me I feel like she’s scooped up a bit of that Texas sun and released it into my house. I require a certain amount of kid gloves, and it’s nice to be mothered by somebody so warm and genuinely selfless. I love the amount of energy she has and never seems flustered by the amount on her plate, and I hope my Nap-A-Day self brings her some much deserved peace and rest. Both of us are pretty prone to crying, too, and more so in the way of “I am overwhelmed so I Must Cry” so it’s always refreshing to sit around watching Queer Eye bawling our eyes out without fear of judgement or teasing. It’s with ease that I tell her how I’m feeling any given moment.

🍦 what is one treasured childhood memory?

On my twelfth birthday, which is Halloween, life was.. shaky. My brother was being deployed to Afghanistan the first week of November, and a few days after my birthday my parents finally announced they were getting a divorce, so the house was tense as is come the end of October.. I wanted a quiet birthday party and asked my two closest friends to come over. They more or less said they’d rather trick or treat seeing as the next year we’d be too old, and I felt SO alone sitting up in my room after school. Well one of my sisters went out and bought me a chocolate chip cookie cake and got a Homestar Runner quote on it (“Ain’t No Teen Girl!”) and the other rounded up all her friends, which happened to be all of the local teen lesbians at her school and a few others. It was EASILY the best birthday party I’ve had in my life, the way they indulged me and watched The Simpsons with me and let me show them Homestar Runner videos and talk their ears off about the ending of the Half Blood Prince.

What I love most about myself

Uhhhh, I am open to learning new things and growing as a person? Although I feel like that’s more like an obligation as a human being than a thing that is worthy of commendation. 

I love that I am very loud about the things I love? And that makes other people aware they exist and maybe they will love them too? 

My favorite ice cream flavor

Chocolate (gelato) of any sort. I prefer dark chocolate, but I’m not super picky in this regard. If it has hazelnuts, even better.
