HEY YALL IM BACK WITH ANOTHER REVIEW AND S HIT this video actually came out at a different time rather than 6pm (aka 2am for me) so this is hella late but i have FINALLY gathered my thoughts

there are no read mores here so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ALRIGHT SO-

okay THE SONG so we are still sticking with a word we dont really GET but were still very HERE FOR IT!!!! do i know what an ‘umpah umpah’ is??? NO but im still here! the song is VERY FUN!!!!!!!!! AND UPBEAT!!!!!!!!! it didnt take me very long to start swaying and bouncing with the instrumental!!!!! feels very summery!!! also the ‘something unforgettable’ part they sing just HITS me for some reason like it really is something unforgettable- also the deeper ‘umpah-pah umpah-pah’ part was interesting but i honestly DONT REALLY HATE IT and i dont hate them say ‘umpah umpah’ i must say the ‘let the beat drop feel so so hot hot’ is kinda everything

they really displayed their vocal power all throughout and literaLLY MESSING ME UP WITH HIGH NOTES AND ADLIBS (like joy in the second chorus................ pls)  but like wendy seulgi and joy also go OFF™ with vocals

again rappers irene and yeri (and joy i guess which i forgot to mention i think in the zimzalabim one) decided to show themselves and again not out of place or jarring tho i must say irene saying ‘baby’ she better stop

THE DANCE theres not a lot to say to be honest!!! i mean it matches and its NOT CRAZY DIFFICULT like the ‘umpah umpah’ dance part matches pretty well (and i deadass copy it when i hear that part) the song is playful so the dance shouldnt super duper hard to learn yourself

theres really nothing too significant to mention which i dunno if thats good or bad but yeah

THE VISUALS are REALLY CUTE!!!!!!!!!! like they were going on vacation and expected to go outside to the beach HOWEVER they ended up staying indoors bc of heavy rain playing boardgames and watching the news with a leaky ass ceiling BUT WERE IN THE PART OF SUMMER WHERE THE WEATHER DOESNT KNOW WHAT IT WANTS SO THAT WAS JUST RELATABLE CONTENT™

the water???? during the dancing and surfing and swinging scenes???? looked like plastic????

SOME SCENES THAT I LIKED AND WANNA MENTION:

the red car and the mini city!!!! really charming and cute to look at with the turtle crossing the street!!!! tho putting joy in the back in the middle seat of the car with that BIG ASS HAT like could you eveN SEE ANYTHING-

the outside AND inside of the house was really Aesthetically Pleasing™ to my eyes with the various blues and yellows ESPECIALLY YELLOW i dunno why i just really like that color and seeing those various shades of it on the door, the walls, the couch and like so many other things i also didnt realize that they were playing the board game under the table bc of the water my dumbass

LIKE in all honesty i dont think ill listen to this song all that much from now on i dunno why its just a feeling that i just wont go back to it like on purpose but i might prove myself wrong! ill be deadass with you zimzalabim kinda grew on me over time so i dunno right now BUT WHAT I DO KNOW IS THAT IT IS BETTER TO WATCH i also still have the chorus and that ‘feel so so hot hot’ stuck in my head

Both of you wears the same clothes, dream the same dream, thinks the same thing most of the same time. You two are defined as 'soulmates'.

She was very talented, you too as well. As said earlier, both if you has the same dream. A dream of being idols.

"I got accepted as a trainee!" Both you two surprised each other at the same time. It was an accomplishment you two dreamt of. Both of your hardwork has been paid off. But there's a thing...

Trainees can't date.

Your dreams led the both of you to separate ways. It hurts. Minji's training period is coming and you have to send her away on the train station.

The day she's leaving was very gloomy. It rained hard as you and Minji waited for her train to come. Her head laying on your shoulders, hand holding yours tightly. She want to savor her last moments with you as her boyfriend.

"When you debut, I'll wait for you"

Her heart skipped a beat and then she lifted her head up, meeting your eyes.

"You'll do the same thing too, right?"

Her eyes glistened in tears and hugged you side ways.

"When we became successful someday, let's not forget each other." As she told you the words, her train came and you stood up, helping her with her bags. She entered the train and you were left behind the yellow line she just crossed. There's just a little number of passengers getting inside the train so the train doors closed as she stepped inside.

Minjin stopped on the glass door looking at you, tears streaming down her eyes. She waved her hands at you and you copied what she did.

"Y/n-ah, we'll meet again"

The train started moving slowly and you followed it's direction, still looking at Minji. She was smiling at your actions and was shocking her head. The train moved faster and you felt the rain slap your face as you ran.

"I love you"

Minji mouthed you behind the glass doors and you ran as fast as you can, dropping your umbrella, just to say back the words.

"Minji saranghae!"

Once again, Minji waved her hands and you stopped from running, rain washing you and your clothes.

5 years ago, Minx debuted and then 1 year later, Dreamcatcher was born. The group's popularity started to climbed up as they toured around the world. Minji never forgot you. She always kept your picture on her bag without the members knowing. Minji always ask for you whenever she come home but too bad you weren't there. Your parents told her that you moved to US to do something. Minji understood but it kinda hurt her because you didn't let her know.

Well, she lastly asked for you 6 years ago. Now, dreamcatcher is having their comeback and have been busy this past few months not noticing this rookie soloist under SM Entertainment.

Your name was all over internet. You didn't knew you were going to be this viral after your cover of Xiumin's You last week. SM promoted you by singing their ballads then dropping your teaser the day after. You've been busy preparing for your debut for a month so you didn't recieved any news from her. Netizens was amazed by you and then started talking over you.

You were the current hot topic.

But the only thing that you want is being noticed by her.

Questions took over your mind as you became nervous coming into the stage. You were the first performer of today's Mcountdown.

You placed your position on the stage and hopefully searching for her on the dark crowd but she wasn't there that broke your heart. You bowed your head in disappointment and then started performing as the your song started playing.

After performing, you took your last glance on the now bright crowd but still, didn't saw her figure. You forcefully smiled at your audience and bowed before exiting the stage. You saw your manager waiting at you and you hugged him, thanking him for your successful debut.

While walking, you were your sad expression. You can't believe she wasnt there supporting you.

"I miss her"

Just then, a loud heels running on the hallways was heard by you and then someone suddenly bumped on you while doing your turn on the intersection hall.

A tall yet not so taller than you just bumped their head on you chest and then ran off without saying sorry. That was rude but you guess she's chasing someone important.

You looked down and then saw bunny necklace, you were familiarized by it and took it anyway. It was the same necklace you gave Minji 8 years ago.

The girl must been dropped it while bumping at me. You thought and then walked back at your dressing room. You sat there and then looked at the thing on your hand.

"When will I meet you again, Minji?"

I placed the necklace on my pocket and then stood up.

"I'm hungry"

Jiu's POV

"I'm here, manager unnie" I opened the door and saw my members on their phones. "Unnie, there was a handsome guy on the monitor earlier. You're late to see him" Gahyeon said while munching her food. "And he's the same age as you, maybe..." Dami wriggled her eyebrows at me while smiling sheepishly. I sighed and then sat down beside the two maknaes.

"I told you guys, I'm not interested" I said and then placed my hand over my neck. An unfamiliar feeling came into my body as I didn't touched my necklace.

"My necklace is missing" Dami looked over at my neck to confirmed it. "You rarely took that off, maybe you didn't wore that earlier? " Gahyeon asked. I shook my head and stood up.

I went out of our dressing room to find my necklace.

That wasn't just a necklace. That was his gift from our 1st year anniversary, how can I lose it. I led my way to the girl's comfort room where I went earlier and again while turning into the hallway, I bumped into someone... again.

Wait, maybe I dropped the necklace after bumping on someone earlier!

I avoided who I bumped into and was about to run when I felt my arms being pulled.

"Wait miss, you bumped at me 2 times already and you didn't even apologize "

Is that- that voice sounds familiar.

"I'm so sorry, something important is missi-"

Third Person's POV

Minji stopped on her tracks as she saw the person's face. The person was also shock from who she is, forgetting his hands was still on her arms.

"Minji?"

"Y/n?"

The bot immediately let go of her hand and then bowed at her. "Annyeaonghaseyo, Lee Y/n imnida" Y/n greeted with the widest smile plastered on your face.

Y/n can't believe what's happening just now. He's now face to face with his first love, the only girl he loved. Jiu on the other side was surprised but same as Y/n, she cant contain her happiness. Her lips started to spread into a smile and chuckled.

"Is that really you, Y/n? Am I only dreaming?" She pinched herself just incase. "Ani, I'm real" the boy spread his arms and turn around. "I'm real Minji" his smile never left his lips. Jiu came and pinched his cheeks as well.

"You're real!" Minji exclaimed. You then heard footsteps coming into one of the corners but luck is on your side. You two were just standing infront of your dressing room.

You opened the door and pulled Jiu in. She never complained, why would she? She had been waiting for this moment to happen.

As the both of you went inside, you immediately enveloped Minji a tight hug. You felt her hug back that made you tear up.

"I can't believe this is happening, please tell me I'm not dreaming!" You told her and you felt her shook her head on your chest. Then suddenly, you felt your shirt getting cold.

"Minji?" You broke the hug and you saw her brightly smiling at you, her tears rolling down her cheeks with her mascara. "Yah, don't ruin your make up" you wiped her tears using your sleeves. "You're performing soon, I'll watch beside the stage" she nodded at you and got out from your arms.

"Oh- I remember, your necklace " you grab the necklace on your pocket and turn her around to put on the necklace on her.

After putting in on, you kissed Minji's cheeks making her blush and turn around at you. "Yah, we're not official yet, take me out to date first" she said and pushed your shoulders.

"Hmm, noted. So...?"

Silence filled the room, the both of you smiling while staring at each other. "I missed you" you look down on the ground while fiddling your fingers. "Me too" you heard her said that made you blush.

"Have you watched my performance?"

"Performance?"

Your head shot up and you glared at her. "Y oi u missed it, did you?" Minji bit her lip and looked down. You smiled at her cuteness and then went closer to her again.

"It's okay though, at least we met again. So Minji... I mean, Jiu-ssi" you said and took out you hand for her to take.

"Faith really made us see each other, would you like to go out on a date with me on Saturday" you kneeled down at her and she started squealing. "Yah~ what are you doing, get up" she held your hand and pulled you up but you remained in your place.

"Only if you agree, Jiu-ssi" she smiled sweetly at you and pecked your lips.

"Of course, I would love too" you smiled and then stood up, pulling your necklace that was hiding behind your shirt.

On your necklace, there are two rings that was familiar to Minji. It was your necklace since you were still together. You wore it everyday. She wants to ask why there are 2 rings on it but her head says 'it's just design, that's it's

"Kim Minji, you were mine before, I'll make you mine again" you pulled out the rings and put the small one on her left hand. She blushed and you put the larger ring on your left hand.

"Now we're unofficially enganged" you smiled cheekily and kissed her forehead.

"Welcome back"

this dreamcatcher comeback kinda sounds like something they would have done as rookies. idk if that makes sense, its just reminding me of that time they were trying to rebrand themselves and really going all out in concept.

Cute song, really like the short fur elise melody, really really enjoy parts of the choreo where they are really hammering home the doll-like movement. Cant wait to see more of the performances

Cignature - Nun Nu Nan Na: i’ve felt like it should be this high the entire time but only now am i bold enough to say it

Izone - Fiesta: another bold stance but idk, is this one as hot a take as cignature? like, fiesta’s a bop right? we’re all agreed? maybe we arent lmao but i think its a bop anyway

Loona - So What: im so proud of them!!! they got their first win this month!!! yeah idk, this song is always gonna be controversial and polarizing, but i like it a lot more than i dislike it, for sure. the choreo’s not as exciting, and the stages were empty without haseul and orbits, but the song in and of itself is good, it’s gonna remain stuck in my head all year. 

Dreamcatcher - Endless Night: this song is cheesy as hell but whatever lmao. breaking every endless niiiiiiight

Cherry Bullet - Hands Up: in my last update i said “fairly simple lol this is just a weird bop” and i stand by that

NCT 127 - Kick It: at the beginning of the month i would have put this at number 2, but i havent listened to it as much lately. part of that is me finding more comfort during this quarantine nonsense by listening to girl groups and watching girl group vlogs and other content and stuff, but also part of that is just sort of the novelty wearing off a little bit, and some minor nitpicks i had becoming more prominent and hard to ignore now. tbh i still think this is in my top 3 nct 127 songs though, easily

Weki Meki - Dazzle Dazzle: it’s really hard for me to tell where i should place this. i love weki meki to death so i want it to be high, but i don’t like it as much as some other weki meki songs. i think it’s catchy, it’s weird, it’s veeeery bubblegummy (literally lol it has popping sound effects throughout it), but it’s good. it’s just a solid weki meki track, i guess. this is the song i’ve listened to the second most this year so far, apparently, but i’m not sure it’ll stay that way.

GFriend - Crossroads: i cant believe i had this at number 3 last time lol. everything i said about it still stands but i just dont think that stuff warrants number 3 anymore. i think it is an emotionally affecting song that got better every time i listened to it, and i think the stages for it were always pretty good, but you know... maybe this drop just reflects my need for more fast paced hype-up songs this past month cause those lend themselves better to escaping from the outside world haha

Itzy - Wannabe: it’s itzy and they own this 4th gen “teen crush” concept (i hate that term even though weki meki coined it and own it even more than itzy does lol), so of course it was gonna be good, but i think it’s still up for debate exactly how good it is. i dont think it’s as classic as dalla dalla or icy will go on to be. i dont even think wannabe is the best song from their mini album, lol. it’z me might be the best mini album of the year so far, tbh. i mean dont get me wrong, this song is good, and of course ive had its chorus and weird noisy production stuck in my head all month

and here’s a thing i’m doing for the first time this month... here’s my top 5 bsides of the year so far! its hard to compare these with title tracks since generally i listen to title tracks so much more, because theyre just like... a bigger deal, you know? i give title tracks more thought and criticism too. i’m trying to be better about listening to bsides this year though, but even still, i dont always listen to the bsides for a comeback, so this list is gonna be even more biased than my title track list. i dont care though cause like... so what? of course it’s biased lmao it’s my opinion, of course it’s subjective. anyway here it is

Dreamcatcher - Red Sun: the stages made me love this song even more and understand its aesthetic so much better, but even without that it was still one of the best bsides i’d ever heard from a group. part of me wants a Red Sun special clip, but part of me wants them to wait till Handong is back. it’ll probably never happen, but we can dream. anyway this song kills me with how good it is

Elris - This Is Me: this song slaps so fucking hard lmao. i’m not that into the dance break in the song, it kills the momentum a little bit, but damn this shit is such an adrenaline rush, i love it

Dreamcatcher - Sahara: we all joked about this song already, but seriously that special clip made it totally impossible to take this song seriously... which vastly improved it, in my opinion. this song becoming just something you headbang to and giggle about the “ra ra ra”s and the antics in the special clip made this song 10x better, and i already loved it to begin with lol. this song is such a fuckin anthem haha, a silly, powerful, just-good-dumb-fun anthem 

Itzy - That’s A No No: this song has some of the most unique production i’ve heard in a kpop song. it’s downright nightmarish, this thing sounds like a fever dream

Izone - Open Your Eyes: idk what to say about this song other than that it’s an easy song to get lost in actually there’s a tie for this spot... this song is tied with Loona - Number One: idk what to say about this song other than that it’s an easy song to get lost in

this would be the first Dreamcatcher's comeback where in I'm very into them. In Maison era, i think I'm still on the process of knowing them at that time but now that i knew them and i love them so much, i cant wait for their comeback this October 11. I can't explain what I'm feeling, I'm just really really excited about them no matter what they drop. Everyday as day passes by, I'm only looking forward to any updates about Dreamcatcher. I think i have never been excited like this about a girl group comeback. I just love these queens so much🥺 and i hope they will get the respect and recognition that they deserve. But no matter what happen, win or lose, i will always be proud of them and will always stay and support them.🥺 I love youuuu Dreamcatcher!❤️🖤🥺

There's a lot going on lately, mostly good stuff. Lots happening today specifically. Dreamcatcher comeback (fantastic one), Stranger things season 4 trailer and a possible Derry Girls episode later. Plus something important in my own life.

I had spent last weekend on a scout camp doing some leading stuff and it was great to be back at the scout cottage/hut/place thingy. We walked 13 km at one point with heavy backpacks in four hours and it wasn't as bad as I had feared it to be.

I've also been enjoying some new interests lately and I've been taking a deep dive back into horrible histories. It's making my new history course even more interesting.

Your camping adventure sounds like it was awesome! I can't wait for consistently nice weather. I want to make more time for hiking this year, for sure.

The biggest news with me lately is that I've started a new position at work which I really enjoy. I'm learning all kinds of office related skills. I'm also waiting to hear back from a job interview, and if they end up wanting me I'll have to make some decisions. I know I'm about to get a raise at work, but don't know the extent of it just yet. And I'm going to pay off the remainder of my student debt before May, so I'll actually be able to start saving money that normally goes to that once a month.

Otherwise I'm just doing more the same. This past weekend was my dad's birthday, so I made him a cake which was fun, and turned out pretty cute in my opinion. I'm going to cat sit for my brother this weekend, so that should be fun. I love that cat; he's so friendly.

I just checked out the new Dreamcatcher mv! The song is really catchy. The songs of theirs that I've listened to have such great energy.

I don't have anything new to share as far as music goes. Since I moved into the office I cant listen to audio books much anymore, so on my commute I try to listen to all the podcasts I used to while working. One of my favorite ones is the Josh Johnson Show. He and his co-host are so funny.

let me just make an unfocused post with all the things running through my head in regards to the handong and masked dancer stuff

first off, like, imagine being that masked dancer and knowing you have to try to match handong's level... i hope she does a good job though! i wonder who she is, cause dreamcatcher dances are not easy at all, lol

also, i wonder what lines in the song will go to handong once she’s back? they definitely planned this out in advance, given how they planned the choreo out with handong in mind. so there are lines in the song that are already designated as handong lines, i’m sure of it. 

so, we were all wondering why handong/DCC would decide to do that idol producer series right after their most successful comeback thus far, and right before they were working on their first full album... and i still wonder about that, but like... it’s also possible that this is part of the story? like, she probably wanted to go on the show anyway (or something), and then the company and group were like “oh, hmmm, so she’ll be gone for a while huh... well wait a minute... what if we start our new concept... and the story features handong prominently... and her absence will matter to the story” and stuff like that lol. like, which do you think came first? the decision to have a backup dancer wearing a mask to fill in for handong’s parts, or the decision to have gahyeon use masks as a prop, and feature masks a lot in the aesthetics of the video and concept? my guess is that they decided to have a dancer fill in for handong first, and then worked the lore surrounding that into the overall concept. i think the story of the Dystopia era partially started from handong’s absence. holy shit i really think im onto something... i know we all were hoping for some sort of “find the missing handong!” story, and im not sure if this is that, but it really does look to me like she’ll have a big role in the story when she returns, hopefully for their next korean comeback. oooooo i cant wait to see how everything unfolds. i hope she’s doing well

im so excited for this weki meki comeback yall...... this is soooort of my first weki meki comeback? my first as a ki-ling anyway, lol. before picky picky i thought idlyg was really good and their other two title tracks were just okay, and so i wasnt that invested in weki meki. i used picky picky as sort of a trial-run on how i should treat future comebacks by groups that i *was* invested in, cause at that time i hadnt yet had a group i was a big fan of come out with a new music video, my first real instance of that was CLC’s Me, and my first comeback from one of my bias groups was Fromis 9′s Fun a week later. but so, i wasn’t sure like, should i watch teasers for music videos? there’s really no way to know exactly how much a teaser will spoil of the song without watching it haha... so i thought i might as well test it out on a comeback that i wasnt super duper invested in. and like, paying attention to live stages and stuff after the comeback too. and like, of course, the song really fuckin impressed me and it made me wanna learn more about them as a group, and the added context i got from learning more made me love all four of their title tracks a ton, and now oops theyre one of my favorite groups haha. so i watched the picky picky teasers and the first one didnt give a ton away, but the second one did, and i kinda think i might avoid them both this time just to be safe... i LOVE being surprised, so i wanna wait to hear the song until i press play on the music video lol. i might watch the teasers on mute though, cause like its impossible to avoid the visual aspect since i’ll see screencaps and gifs and stuff and im not as invested in that as i am in the sound of the music anyway, so i might do that... but yeah like.... i’m so excited haha. before Fun came out it was like all i could think about for a week haha, and Weki Meki’s new one is gonna be the same. i cant even fucking imagine what my brain will be like in the days before a Dreamcatcher or Loona comeback.... i’m....
