One of the great delights of living in an old home is the established trees that accompany it. This shot from the south side of our 1889 home is of one of my favorite spots in the summer. This lush canopy of leaves and branches creates a beautifully dappled shady glade below (where I’m standing as I take this photo). The birds and squirrels who fill this overhead layer of our garden chirp and scamper all day long, but especially in the mornings while I’m out here (this space is just off of our patio) having my first cup of coffee each day.
