Gojo Hearing “I Love You” for the First Time

I gen. have no clue if anywhere in the series anybody has said they loved gojo. Whether platonic or not. Its interesting and I was just thinking.

And there he goes again, your big over 6’6” boyfriend laying on his back on the couch having another yap fest after a long trip. It started off with a quiet evening of you both eating and watching a childhood movie to then actually sharing stories of your past.

You really couldn’t be more enamored by how excited Satoru gets when he speaks to you. His smile is wide from ear to ear and his dimples grow deeper. He’s also so expressive with his hand gestures you really don’t know where to look as you lay comfortable on his big broad chest.

Usually when he begins to speak about his life before you, you try to absorb and savor every moment. Since your friendship in high school Gojo wasn’t much of a talker (ironically) about his life, but as you both grown closer since his big mission with Geto to watch over Riko he managed to get a bit more comfortable with telling you more about himself.

It’s been 11 years since then and after some therapy sessions with you, Geto, and Gojo three of you managed to learn how to express yourselves in a healthier way with each other.

You watch now, almost 1 year into your official relationship with him and noticed he doesn’t talk much about his parents. Nor an adult in his life that was like a parent to him at the very least. Even when in High School you never met his family. You knew of his clan and that was all.

You always wondered where did he get his wild energy from? His dad? Where did he become so affectionate through touch? His mom? It was all a mystery you wanted to understand.

You’ve even asked Geto, his closest best friend what does he know about his mom and dad, but he always ends with “It’s better you wait until he tells you himself.”

You didn’t question it more, you respected the decision so thats exactly why you’re here. Watching and listening attentively to what your boyfriend has to say. It makes you happy seeing how much he has grown more comfortable towards you towards the years.

“And when I was 8 I remember my folks always gave me free range to use my technique whenever to practice, but boy they regretted after an hour because I—-baby.”

Without noticing your eyes blinked back at him as if you began to come back to reality again, Gojo seen the relaxed look you given him as he spoke, how your eyes were on his, but he just knew you—

“‘ not even listeninggguhhhh.”

Putting your thumbs on his pouty bottom lip, they’re so soft you smile at him, it wasn’t really something you’d expect to say to him, but his pretty big smile, his deepened dimples, everything about him caught you in a moment of venerability you just decided to softly speak at him;

“I love you.”

…just like that it was a pause.

It just slipped off the tongue. You meant it, but finally saying it out loud was a bit of a shock to not just you, but more Satoru. He had an unreadable look on his face, almost as if he didn’t catch what you said, but he definitely did. He couldn’t miss the way his body tensed up hearing those three words.

“What?”

Gojo didn’t say anything, almost as if it was a staring contest you rise from his chest to straddle him, “Are you okay?”

You jumped feeling the pads of his thumb dig into the fattiness of your hips, almost as if he were trying to massage you….very painfully. He got up though, placing you down on the couch and walking to the nearest bathroom without saying a word or looking at you. You could’ve sworn he wiped his face momentarily.

“Go—?”

He didn’t mean to, it was almost a reflex. Your words though, kept replaying in his head . He felt a bit silly being so dramatic , ironically but he couldn’t properly process what you said.

“Satoru?” You knock on the door breaking him away from his thoughts, “You okay, papa? I—oh.”

He opened the door, putting back on his eye mask and giving you one of the fakest smiles you ever seen him do.

“What are you doing, you okay?”

“yeah yeah I’m fineeeee. Let’s go get something to eat.”

“W-wait!” You playfully scoff at his eagerness as he pulls you to the front door, “I’m sorry if what I said made you uncomfortable….I know it was sudden and random, but I meant it.”

Gojo turns and exhales, clearing his throat he begins to scratch the back of his head, you can tell he is scrambling for words so you continue; “I do love you Satoru. A lot. I think I always have since we were younger, but I don’t know…today made me realize I should verbalize it.”

He wants to speak, but for one of the first times you left him wanting to just listen to you. Honestly you took advantage of it because who knows when you’ll be able to get him this quiet.

“I love your smile, I love your laugh, I love the way you explain things, I love the way you are, I love the way you care, I love how you can get on my nerves.” You ends the last part with a giggle making him finally chuckle with you, and he brings you closer to his chest. “I love you, Satoru. You are an amazing person and I am very blessed to have you as not only a friend but a partner.”

It was all too much, he felt overwhelmed he had to lift his mask to wipe the tears welling on the side of his eyes, he chuckles again, the free hand on your waist tightening, “Well damn if I didn’t know better I’d think you have a crush on me.”

You laugh, “Maybeeee…..Now. “ You smooch his cheek before grabbing your phone, “Let’s go get some food—-“

You tried walking past him towards the door but he grabs you from behind to hug you close, you can hear his shallow breaths in your ear. You’re used to his tight squeezes from behind but this one was firm. Almost as if he let you go you’ll fly away.

“Say it again.”

You smirk, his voice quivering but trying to be masked by a fake pouting tone, “I love you, Satoru.”

“Again.”

“I love you.”

“Again, but in Spanish.”

“Oh brother.”

“C’mon you sound hot when speaking Spanish.”

“Te amaré para siempre, Satoru…”

If words could explain how he felt right now with you, the closest would be a weight being lifted off his shoulders. For a moment he no longer was Gojo the strongest sorcerer, he was Satoru.

Just Satoru.

Something he wanted to be for a long time, and now you are helping him take the first step into that.

You inhale his scent; mint, expensive cologne and his natural musky smell you love so much and rub his head as he is still buried in your neck. You turn to face him and grab his cheeks, almost hesitantly to cup them because you weren’t sure if he’d left you see him cry. Though you felt your shoulder dampen.

However he let you, his big blue eyes surrounded by a tint of pink, he tried laughing it off and he actually broke eyes contact with you, “I …um…heh..fuck—“

You knew what he was trying to say but you don’t force him, instead you place your lips on his, you felt him exhale, his body relaxing in your touch, “I know, Satoru. I know.”

Gojo couldn’t properly register why he was so overwhelmed with whatever he is feeling right now but he wouldn’t trade this feeling in the world. He honestly wanted to replay the moment you said you loved him on repeat all day.

Later that day you both go out and have your own last minute date for the evening, he wanted so badly to tell you he loves you back by trying to incorporate more of the word “love “ in his vocabulary, by saying things like “I know you LOVE this.” Or “Wouldnt you LOVE for me to take you here.” but it was hard and he sounded silly.

Satoru wanted so badly to tell you he doesn’t just love you, but he has fallen IN love with you.

Gojo finally found just one more person that gave him something he didn’t realize he needed;

To feel human.

Why not call it Rinch Week? It started out as Rinch Fest on The Rinch Loft on Discord, and that’s what stuck.

Plus, Rinch Fest and Reese & Finch share the same initials.

What’s allowed? Complete fanworks focusing on Harold Finch and John Reese in a romantic or close platonic relationship with each other. Fic, art, vids, remixes, sequels, you name it! No length requirements, no style requirements, all ratings allowed—do what you want!

Anything not allowed? Works where Finch/Reese or Finch & Reese is not the primary relationship (additional ships are fine), works that are incomplete at the time of posting, and remixes or other transformative works for other people’s fanworks that are done without the original creator’s permission. Anything else is fair game, as long as it’s labeled.

Also, don’t be a jerk.

What about [insert controversial topic here]? Can I make something with x?/OMG someone made something with x! Anything else is fair game, as long as it’s labeled. This includes works featuring tropes and kinks that you may not like or approve of. As long as it’s warned for, it’s fine and allowed.

What do I do with x prompt?/Can I do [insert concept here]? Anything goes! Seriously, however you want to interpret a prompt is fine.

Do I have to make something for every prompt? No! You can if you want, but it’s not required. Feel free to skip days, combine prompts, create multiple fills for each day, anything! This is as flexible as it gets.

If it fits multiple prompts, when do I post it? Whatever day works best for you!

What if I want to do something NSFW? There's no nsfw prompt this year. Is it still allowed? YES! Bring on the spicy if you want!

Can I work on a previously-posted WIP? As long as it’s finished when you make your post for the event, sure! If you’re just updating a WIP without finishing it, no.

Can I start working now? Absolutely! That’s why I’m announcing it now—so there’s plenty of time for people to make things.

You know something Sonamy fans? I’m beginning to gain a liking towards the, “If Sonic and Amy became an official couple, they would date in private, but act like best friends in public,” head-canon. Because I think it’s most inline with how their dynamic works in general that’s been talked about. I dub it “platonic romance/friends with crushes on each other,” to keep things balanced.

Side note: I don’t think all of this stuff is happening by coincidence. It doesn’t prove nor confirm anything, but it’s funny these hints are in Black Night (a confirmed date), official artwork, and the recent IDW issue. Along with the other stuff which was also talked about a bunch.

These existing at all is an ongoing shock-fest for me. Due to the fact Amy and Sonic has known each other for a long time and most of their years together they barely ever hung out alone or in general before. (Not counting Black Night) But at the same time I’m not too surprised because the Amy Rose love is more common from the franchise and fans alike nowadays. There’s more and better material to work with.

My point is whether this is building up to something BIGGER or these are fun little details/hints we’re just putting together in a cute chart board, I want this franchise to KEEP IT GOING.

If you have been around the circle with Ao3-hosted exchanges, you generally have a sense of how exchanges run. In the "BFE (Bangs, Fests, Exchanges)" circle of exchanges, there is a standard method of how events run, and when you sign up for a new one you have a reasonable expectation of how things are going to be organized. You'll still read the documentations, of course, but you can roll up to a standard exchange and know what to expect.

This exchange, because of some quirks of how it's organized, does not run on BFE standard. So here are some things that you might expect to run one way that run differently for us!

Tag Seconding

With your average BFE exchange, any tag that is nominated that does not break the tag rules will be accepted into the exchange, and can be signed up with. Because of this, someone might end up with a signup that no one else is interested in, and thus no one can be assigned to them. This person's assignment is then sent to initial pinch hits, and someone eventually picks it up so the person can participate in the exchange. This works because the standard BFE exchange has a creation period of between 6-12 weeks, and there is a lot of time to find pinch hitters. If someone needs to pick up an entire canon so they can write a pinch hit, they can do that.

We have 48 hours, and we really really really want to avoid initial pinch hits, because there simply is not time to find pinch hitters.

Because of this, all tags must be nominated by two people to make it into the tag set. That way we know that every tag used in the signups has a minimum of two people interested in it, and thus, our chances of initial pinch hits go way down. So far we've run the event three times and have never had an initial pinch hit, and we want to keep it that way.

No e-rated work.

Most BFE exchanges are 18+ only, and thus of course e-rated is allowed. Fandom is full of excellent e-rated work, tropes, and events! This exchange started as a fandom-specific exchange, however, in a fandom with a lot of minors, and we didn't want to tell them that they couldn't participate. Thus, it is all-ages (13+, because of discord and Ao3 TOS). There are steps mods can take in an all-ages exchange to make sure that no minors are given assignments asking for porn, but it is a lot of work on the back end, and we do not have time to do this on the event's crash schedule. The simplest method to make sure that we do not give minors e-rated assignments or gifts is to do a flat ban of anything with an e-rating. If someone wants to start up the 48 hour smut exchange we support that, but this exchange, in this version, remains all-ages, and thus M is the highest rating a gift can have.

Prompts

Many BFE exchanges run on ODAO (optional details are optional) standards. Prompts are optional and you can hand someone an assignment with a DNW on it and some ships and leave them to do whatever they want. This is not the way every exchange runs (notably FIAB requires at least a list of likes), but it is the baseline assumption.

Because this exchange only gives your gifter 48 hours to work, we require that you give them something to jump off of when they start creating. It does not have to be detailed— "hurt/comfort, only one bed, bright colours" works as a prompt list— but we require that you give your gifter something to work on for each art form that you opt into. Consider it an extra challenge, before the creating starts.

Solo or Platonic tag

This is another one to increase matching possibilities! To make sure people are matchable, we need everyone to request at least one "solo" or platonic tag in their signup. You only need one, in one fandom! If none of your fandoms have any Solo or platonic tags nominated, we'd also accept an "any relationships" either requested or offered.

Signups Not Visible

Especially since the introduction of the Automagic app, most exchanges make their signups visible from the beginning. This allows people to check and see if they're going to be matchable, and also to "game" for specific signups that they want.

That is not how we do things. We only release signups at the halfway mark of the creation period, and this is for two reasons. The first is that we are serious about only allowing people 48 hours to work, including concepting. If you could have picked out your assignment for a week previously and then gamed for it, you could theoretically give yourself over an extra week to work. That kind of ruins the fun of the event for us, so we do not allow people to see the signups as they come in. Secondly, part of the secondary challenge of the event is that you can only treat for 24 hours of the main event. We do not release signups until the halfway mark of the event because we want to make sure that people are not pre-writing on treats, or even pre-concepting. We want to people to take treats from seeing the sign-up to delivering within 24 hours, if they are doing the treating challenge.

If not knowing what other signups are visible means you are afraid you will match to someone you do not want to match to, contact a mod, and we will be happy to take down DNM requests and hand-adjust the backend for you.

The exchange opens 48 hours after signups open, as long as Ao3 is still up.

Most BFE exchanges will hold the exchange until everyone gets a gift. Pauses are build into the timeline to allow for emergency pinch hits because of this. We are running on something close to flash exchange rules, however, and the exchange will open on time, 48 hours after assignments go out. If your original gifter has dropped or fails to deliver, you may have to wait up to another 48 hours for your pinch hitter to work.

Save the date! The Daylight Savings Fest schedule is out now and prompting starts on Monday!

Prompting: 02/26 to 03/11 - Anyone will be able to send prompts to our archive. So long as they are related to Kevin Day, any and all prompts will be accepted, including but not limited to NSFW, non-paired ideas, character studies, alternative universes, canon divergences and platonic pairings.

Prompts may be anonymous or signed. We leave it up to our prompters to pick whether they would like to be mentioned in the finished work or not.

NSFW prompts are limited to writers above the age of eighteen.

Your prompts, by default, must include Kevin Day as the main character or one of the main characters. Prompts unrelated to the fest's purpose will not be accepted. Have you ever played chess without a queen piece?

Claiming: 03/11 to 03/22 - Writers will be able to peruse our prompt archive and claim one for themselves through a form starting March 11th. Those who would rather write a prompt of their own must also fill in this form, and specify that their prompt has not been taken from the archive. A writer may claim a second prompt so long as they have already finished and drafted their first one. Not all of us can be a worldwide famous athlete while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and running an Exy team like the navy.

Writing period: 03/29 - 05/29 - Works must be above 1.500 (fifteen hundred) words to be submitted. The content of them is up for the writer to decide — we will not peform any kind of moderation on what topics can be breached or explored. Or if Kevin Day himself is breached or explored.

Posting period: 05/29 - 06/07 - Your work must be fully submitted by June 7th. Chaptered works must have, at least, the first part up. That means chaptered fics must have their entire chapter count up by then. We understand guidelines are hard to follow, so don't hesitate to ask for an extension if you truly believe you cannot make it, but try to pace yourself so that you are finished before one is needed. If, even then, you still need an extension, here's some words of advice: a queen is never late, everyone else simply is too early.

I remember when this page dropped on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, and Blackenloin/Goldenheart/Goldheart/w/e shippers all collectively lost our minds. Yes, Ballister and Ambrosius are very shippable from the get-go (their hand placement on p.13, Ambrosius on p.21 to Ballister "Are you trying to make me jealous" and his otherwise flirty dialogue, Ambrosius holding Ballister's hand at the bar on p.102, plus little hints and things by Nate on Nate's tumblr), but p.126 was an outright confirmation that it wasn't just angsty and close platonic stuff (with very clingy Ambrosius) that's fun to ship but not exactly canon in the text itself (like you can read it as "oh these two had something" from the get-go but it's not exactly explicit up until this point, and it's a different experience reading the completed comic all in one go versus reading it page by page over the course of a couple years as pages release). The Director's wording, Ambrosius' little blush. Ahh, these beans.

A Second Chance: The Steve/Tony Endgame Prompt Fest

Whether you took part in the exchange and miss SteveTony already or missed out last time and wish you joined in, this prompt fest is a second chance <3

The prompt fest will run from July 7 to December 31, 2023. There are no minimum work requirements, and sign-ups are not required: you can submit prompts and fill prompts as you please! 😊

Here’s how it works:

To submit a prompt, send it through our prompt form and it’ll appear in the Prompt Collection sheet for others to see (the form and sheet will be opened on July 7). You can only submit one prompt each time, but you can submit as many forms as your heart desires. If you aren’t sure what your prompt should look like, take a look at the sheet for examples or ask us for help!

To fill a prompt, just post it to the AO3 collection when it’s complete! There is no formal claiming process; just make sure to include the prompt number and/or quote the prompt you filled in your author’s note or summary.

Both the prompt form and the AO3 collection will be open for the entire duration of the event (July 7 to December 31). During this time, you can send in prompts, view prompts in the Prompt Collection, and post fills to the AO3 collection.

When you post your work, please include the prompt number and/or quote the prompt you filled in your author’s note or summary.

All prompts and fills must be Endgame-adjacent. Canon divergence and post-canon are welcome!

All prompts and fills must center on Steve and Tony's relationship, whether romantic or platonic. Since this is a Steve/Tony event, we ask that you do not prompt or fill poly relationships involving them and others, and Steve/Tony cannot be a side ship.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate, as some prompts may contain mature themes.

The foremost rule of our exchange applies to the prompt fest as well: This is a Steve and Tony friendly event! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ We will not accept any character bashing or painting either character in a negative light. Any prompts or fills that do not respect this rule will be removed from the collection. Remember this is supposed to be a fun event celebrating their love!

FAQ

Multiple people can collaborate on one fill.

Gifting your fill to the prompter is encouraged but not required.

Combining multiple prompts into one fill is allowed, just remember to specify which ones.

You can submit and fill as many prompts as you want—there is no limit.

You do not need to fill a prompt in order to submit one, and vice versa.

Crossposts with other events are allowed as long as the rules of that event permit it too.

The collection will be unmoderated, so mods cannot guarantee real-time fill status updates in the Prompt Collection, but we’ll do our best!!

most days have two options to choose from. you are not restricted to only one prompt on those days. feel free to rec something for both, or combine them!

i added suggestions for some prompts in case you're having trouble thinking of anything in particular, but of course you can always put everything in one post/list (for example, all your beloved AU fics instead of focusing on one specific kind)

august 1 — specific era or season

suggestions: pre-series, soulless!sam, heaven fic, dean's time in hell, late seasons, dean’s time in purgatory, demon blood era, god!castiel

august 4 — kinks or whump

kink suggestions: car or public sex, bondage, lactation, scent kink, the gentle holding of hands, a/b/o, biting, phone sex, pregnancy, size kink, first time, wing fic, cross-dressing, marking, dub-con, voyeurism, wounds

Upcoming Monthly Mini: GEN HERMIONE GRANGER DAY on 1 March 2024

Have you ever heard Hermione Granger called the fandom broom or bicycle? Well, now you have! Hermione is the most-paired female character in the Harry Potter fandom. For our special mini day in honor of Hermione Granger, we're giving the fandom broom a rest! She's not riding anyone! That's right, it's GEN HERMIONE DAY. This means NO romantic pairings of any kind, canon or otherwise. All platonic and familial relationships are welcome!* Here are some ideas to get you started:

Monthly mini guidelines: To participate in our monthly minis, simply post your fic/art to Tumblr and tag @ladiesofhpfest and/or post it to the monthly mini channel on Discord. Details on monthly minis:

Minimum word count: 100.

Betas are strongly recommended, but not required for monthly minis. However, as all works reflect the fest as a whole, we request that all submitted works should be proofread and spell-checked before they are posted. Our ladies deserve nothing but the best!

Only original written fics and created artwork will be accepted.

How to: AO3 gift exchange nominations

If you are new to gift exchanges on AO3, here is a guide on how to submit character/relationship nominations to the WH40K Summer Fest exchange tag set. 👇

Like most exchanges on AO3, the WH40K Summer Fest begins with a two-step setup period:

During the nomination period (June 2-9), anyone can submit characters and relationships to the tag set created for the exchange.

During the sign-up period (June 9-16), participants submit requests and offers for characters/relationships from the tag set they would like to receive or create fanfic/fanart for. At the end of the sign-up period, the exchange mods will match participants based on their requests and offers.

You can only sign up to request or offer the characters and relationships contained in the tag set, so make sure to submit your nominations before Sunday, June 9, 11:59am CET/5:59am EDT. After this time, the tag set will close and additional nominations can't be added.

How to nominate

You need an AO3 account to participate in the exchange. If you do not have an account, you can request an invitation to join the Archive here.

Find the link to the tag set in the info box at the top of the exchange's profile page (or click here).

On the tag set page, click 'nominate' in the top right corner.

Choose 'Warhammer 40.000' for the fandom.

All nominations go in the 'Warhammer 40,000' fandom category, even if they belong to other media, e.g., the Horus Heresy series, the Rogue Trader computer game, etc. Nominations are only used for matching participants; when you upload your gift to AO3, you can use the fandom tag(s) of your choice.

Both characters and relationships go in the 'relationship' box for matching purposes.

Add characters to the tagset by writing: Character: [Name] and finishing with a comma.

Add pairings by writing Name/Name (for romantic or sexual pairings) or Name & Name (for platonic pairings/friendships/enemyships — any specific characters you want interacting in a non-romantic/non-sexual way). If the tag has been used on AO3 before, you can choose it from the dropdown menu, otherwise finish with a comma.

You can nominate Original Characters as characters or in relationships. HOWEVER, note that it will be the creator's choice which OC to use; e.g., if you request "Saint Celestine/Original Female Character," the creator can use an OC you suggest but can also use their own idea. You may nominate original characters that specify an OC's faction ("Original Ultramarine & Original Tau Fire Warrior") and/or gender ("Original Transfem Sister of Battle/Original Nonbinary Imperial Guard").

You can also nominate 'Any' characters, e.g., "Sanguinius & Any Blood Angel(s)", "Ciaphas Cain/Any Canon Female Character", to give the creator freedom to choose which character(s) to include.

You can nominate up to 20 characters or pairings.

Once you are done, click 'submit' at the bottom of the page.

You can always add more characters and pairings, up to 20, by clicking 'My nominations' on the tag set page, but once your nominations have been approved by the mods they can't be deleted.

If you nominate something that has already been nominated by someone else, or if the mods change the wording/order of names to match archive conventions (e.g., "Ulfar of the Space Wolves" ➡ "Ulfar Redmane"), it may continue to appear on your 'My nominations' page as unapproved. Click 'Expand All' on the tag set page to see a full list of all nominated characters/relationships and check if your nominations are included, possibly under a slightly different name.

It may take up to 24+ hours for a nomination to be approved, so please don't delete your unapproved nominations.

Theme Astrofest Round 3

Guess who's back, back again?! For the third round of this mystical and wonderful fest we wanted to change it up a little. Like every year, the theme changes, but this year we wanted to ask the people what they wanted (also helps that we have polls now).

We have 3 options for this year's theme.

Minor Arcana. To switch it up, we could do a tarot centred theme like round 1, but with the minor Arcana. This could be just the cards that are linked to specific signs/events or all minor cards (56).

The 12 houses + placements in a birth chart. For an astrology centred theme again, we can do three random prompts so you have the house number, and two signs/planet. You could get 4th house + moon + libra, where you can have your libra moon in the 4th house and write a story about this placement.

Synastry in the 1d boys' charts. Another astrology theme, but more realism focused (but doesn't have to be canon fics). You would sign up with the pairing of your choice (romantic or platonic) and the hosts with pick a random synastry placement for you to write about. (person a' placement in person b' house and what that overlap means).

Don't feel bad if your theme of choice isn't chosen, we like all three, so in future rounds they will be picked. If you want further explanation on the themes, message @larrysballetslippers
