I got ID’d when I got this last round of cannoli because these contain

BOOZE

so my birthday is tomorrow and I'm gonna be alone for it due to some changed plans (don't worry, I'll be celebrating with both friends and family later!) so I decided that I should get myself a cake or something to celebrate both my birthday and finishing the book.

but the thing is... I don't really like cake that much... and single-servings of cake are overpriced and often dry... and there's no way I could finish a whole cake myself before it goes bad...

but what I do like is cannoli. and I live in south philly, so there are lots of cannoli options. I'm a basic bitch who always just ends up buying termini, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try a bunch of different cannoli.

I can't actually eat that much sugar in one sitting, though, so I'm gonna space this out over like a week...

tonight I have a few flavors of isgro to try, and I'm excited! this is the other Big Cannoli Place in philly, so it should be really good. :)

so I tried all four flavors of cannoli at isgro's (I had a few bites of each one fresh, then I'll be working my way through the rest the rest of the night) and they're pretty good!

I have to admit that I'm mostly a ricotta bitch, though. like the other flavors (mascarpone, vanilla cream, chocolate cream) were fine?? but ricotta is where it's at.

as far as quality compared to my regular, which is termini... hmm. I think isgro's has better shells. there's a really nice flavor and crunch to them. but I still prefer termini's filling. isgro's has almost like... sort of an anisette flavor? which isn't bad (I actually love black licorice) but I do prefer termini's orange-forward ricotta mixture.
