Oak Farm Hotel | Bash + Lee

An intimate summer wedding by Cannock Wedding Photographer Barry James
Oak Farm Wedding Photographs
Today’s wedding at one of our most popular venues Oak Farm where our bride Bash and her groom Lee was set to be a very colourful and lively event, a Scotsman marrying an Indian lady – what else would you expect! After a couple of hours with Bash as she prepared for her wedding day it was on to Oak Farm to meet Lee and the guys. As a Scotsman Lee and his groomsmen were all dressed in kilts with the full highland accessories, which had been provided by Slaters Menswear of Birmingham. Not long before Bash arrived accompanied by her daughter Sonia, her bridesmaid and her son Sonny, who was to have the honour of presenting his mother to Lee. Bash was wearing a traditional Indian wedding gown from Kiran's of Birmingham and carried a gorgeous bouquet created by Hawthorn Florists of Essington. After a short but meaningful ceremony as their guests enjoyed reception drinks, Bash & Lee joined me for personal portraits in the immaculate garden at the front of Oak Farm. Rain interrupted our coverage, but thankfully the clouds disappeared long enough for us to complete all of the group shots and further Bride & Groom photos before everyone was due to sit for their meal. The Paddock suite looked lovely day styled by Venue Creations. A piper led the couple into the room accompanied by rapturous applause and cheers from their family & friends. An evening return for the cake cutting, a work of art from Sugar & Spice, and first dance to the sounds of Code Music completed our coverage for Bash & Lee. Have to say the highlights of the evening for me were the fantastic performance of Amit from Code Music and his drummer, the enthusiastic dancing by the ladies in their colourful clothing and a top top-class buffet from Oak Farm.

Viki + Lee | St Michaels Church Penkridge + The Chase Cannock | Stuart James Photography

Viki + Lee | St Michaels Church Penkridge + The Chase Cannock
Christmas Wedding at The Chase Cannock
When you've had the opportunity to get to know a family over a few years, it makes a wedding that bit more special to share and to capture! Since John + Kate's Moat House Wedding in 2010, the whole family have become friends of mine and Beki's - whether it's been supporting The Hibbs Lupus Trust, or Beki using Viki's salon - they're such a beautiful group of people and I couldn't wait to capture the wedding!!
Viki + Lee's day didn't rush in arriving however, they planned well in advance which allowed them to have the exact day they wanted! And what a day it was!!
Blessed with beautiful winter weather just two days before Christmas, the theme of the day was carried off to perfection - and the tequila shots went down a storm, and certainly got the party started.
I have to say though, it's the first time I've had a bride and groom leave their wedding guests and go to the pub...what an ace idea!!
Here's a look at the story of their Penkridge Christmas Wedding.
With Kaytee on hair duty and Helen Pearson on makeup duty, the ladies were all looking absolutely stunning. There was such a buzz of excitement around the house all morning, and it was great to capture the little touches that meant so much - from the glass for Lee's mom, to the decorations on the Christmas tree - sometimes it's the little bits as part o the narrative that mean so much!
Cannock Wedding Photographer
With hair and makeup complete, there was only one thing left to do - get into that beautiful gown from Wedding Belles of Stone!
I always love capturing the juxtaposition of the Father of the Bride at the bridal house ahead of the grand reveal - here Steve is just sitting back with a glass of prosecco and giving the speech the final once over. A man rarely to show his emotions, but I knew this day meant a lot!!
Christmas Wedding at Penkridge Church
Leaving the ladies to the final preparations is was down to St Michael's Church in Penkridge to see how Lee's nerves were holding up!
Having arrived in fabulous style in the Mustang arranged by Viki as a surprise, the boys looked great in their suits from Dapper Dan in Cannock.
I loved Lee's idea too - straight into the Littleton Arms for a drink, brilliant!!
Winter Wedding Photographs at Penkridge Church
There is no better company in the area for wedding transport than Platinum Cars, and with the personal service from Paul and John the girls arrived in wonderful fashion ready for the ceremony.
With the sun coming out and sparkling off the ladies stunning gowns, it was time for the arrival of our beautiful bride! Viki looked absolutely incredible in her gown, and I just knew Lee would be blown away when he saw her!
Wedding Photographs at St Michaels Church
St Michael's church is such a fabulous setting, and thankfully always full of beautiful light! The ceremony actually also had a really special connection for Viki and Lee too - as they know the vicar really well. They all play hockey for a local team!! Awesome!!
Signed, sealed and delivered, it was time to lead the guests outside and get the celebrations started!
This has to be one of my favourite moments to capture - and I remember being slightly shocked when we had our final meeting: Viki and Lee walked off and left their guests getting into their cars at the church, and headed into the pub for a quiet drink! What a way to toast the new chapter ahead for the couple! Just awesome!
Wedding Photographs at The Chase
After the short journey and a few minutes with the guests, it was time to steal a few minutes with the couple to make the most of the beautiful weather.
Blessed with some of the best weather I've enjoyed in December, it was great to capture some of these natural portraits with our beautiful couple!
Chase Wedding Photographer Stuart James
I have long loved winter weddings - there's always that chance that the weather will be against you, but when it's on your side...wow!! Just incredible! This lighting was some of the nicest I had all year!!
Christmas Wedding at The Chase - Wedding Reception in the Atrium
The Atrium at The Chase is such a fabulous space, and it really comes to life with the lights! (The first wedding with the lights on the ceiling I actually photographed a few years ago - take a look! Viki + Lee brought their theme together perfectly, and with the winter theme carried throughout, interspersed with Budapest - the setting for the engagement - it really looked stunning!
With the guests all seated, and the first shots downed, it was time for one of my favourite parts of the wedding - the speeches!
It's safe to say Lee suffered throughout - amazing!!
Creative Natural Wedding Photography
With the formalities done, it was time to kick back, relax and enjoy the reception. With the guests embracing the party from the off, it was such a great evening to capture. Especially when the hockey crowd brought out an impromptu game of beer pong!!
Krispy Kremes FTW - What a fantastic wedding 'cake'!
Wedding Reception at The Chase
I loved Viki + Lee's choice of early entertainment to get the party started! Britpop United were brilliant and really got the crowd going - highly recommended!
Cannock Wedding Photographers
With the bouquet tossed, and the DJ ready to open the dancefloor for the first dance, it was alas time for the conclusion of my coverage, but what a wedding!
Viki + Lee it was an honour to share your day - I loved every second!

Creative Storytelling Wedding Photography by Cannock Wedding Photographers
I first had the pleasure of meeting Thea + Peadar at a wedding fayre at Oak Farm Hotel, and it was amazing to hear I made a big impression with my "passion for photography and natural style to capture the moment". I couldn't wish for anything more! Capturing a wedding is all about recording moments. Producing a collection of moments in a narrative that captures the emotion, the feeling and the excitement of the wedding. Taking the viewer back to that day, and connecting deeply with it. If I can do that for my clients, and truly connect with them, and their day, it makes me very happy! Thea + Peadar's wedding day was to be a little different - as the couple were already married ahead of the celebrations in Brewood and Cannock! Back in March, they took their friends and family to the incredible setting of the ice hotel in Finland - and after seeing the photos, and hearing the stories, I just have to go and visit! The photos from the wedding in the chapel were stunning! On the lead up to the big day, I got to spend a little time with Thea and Peadar making the most of one of their favourite locations on Cannock Chase. Choosing an evening shoot, we were also able to make the most of genuinely fantastic light and captured an exclusive collection of portraits for them both.
Cannock Wedding Photographer
Wedding Photographs at St Marys Brewood
Thea + Peadar's wedding celebrations were held at the beautiful village of St Marys in Brewood, where I'd last been in the snow for JP + Sean's wedding - thankfully, being at the end of July, the weather was much better!! :-) The church of St Marys in Brewood is such a beautiful setting, and it was wonderful to be back to capture the blessing of Thea + Peadar's marriage. The couple had been so sensible and made the whole day easy for their guests, bringing everyone to the church in coaches!
St Marys Brewood Wedding Photographs
As the guests took their seats, it was time for our bride's arrival on the arm of her father, and for the emotions to grow during the procession down the aisle! Seeing the family involved from the very start during the Roman Catholic celebrations, showed just how vital the blessing was for the couple and the family.
Oak Farm Wedding Photographs
From the family photographs on the church door, it was straight into the waiting coaches for the short journey back to Oak Farm Hotel for the afternoon and evening's celebrations! The whole day was set to be incredibly relaxed with little formality - for Thea + Peadar. It was about celebrating with their friends and family, and just having a fantastic time!
Oak Farm Wedding Photographer
While not wanting to spend much time on formal photographs, it was terrific to steal a few minutes with Thea and Peadar to craft their natural portraits. Such a stunning couple, and with the characterful setting of Oak Farm, we were able to create a stunning collection of images.
Cannock Wedding Photographers
To ensure the feel of the afternoon and evening were as relaxed as possible, the guests were treated to garden games and a stunning white bouncy castle - which proved a massive hit with the adults, possibly even-more-so than with the children!! From the fun on the bouncy castle, it was at the giant Jenga that I spent a good few minutes, with quite possibly the most competitive game I'm photographed!! With Peadar already having made numerous appearances on the bouncy castle, things got even better as Thea joined him! Bride and Groom on a bouncy castle - what more could you want?! :-)
Creative Evening Wedding Photography
From capturing the relaxed evening, it was time to get creative with our Bride and Groom ahead of handing over to the band - complete with the Father of the Bride on Saxophone! With a band as great as these guys, it took no time at all for the floor to be full and for the party to be rocking! Truly fabulous! I loved being there for both of their sets!!
Cannock Documentary Wedding Photographers
And with the end of the second set of the band, my coverage concluded, but not before I finished the story in a little style for Thea + Peadar. Thea and Peadar, thank you so much for entrusting your memories to me and allowing me to capture your wedding story. I loved every second with you all and cannot wait to bring the finished story together [pexcirclecta pex_attr_small_title="See the full gallery of Thea + Peadar's wedding!" pex_attr_title="Thea + Peadar's Wedding Gallery" pex_attr_button_text="See the gallery" pex_attr_button_link="http://clients.stuartjamesphoto.com/theapeadar" pex_attr_button_link_open="same"][/pexcirclecta] If you are planning your Oak Farm wedding or you are looking for the perfect Cannock wedding photographers to capture your wedding story, please do get in touch - I would love to hear about your plans and how I can capture your story!

The wedding suppliers chosen by Becky & Ed for their special day at Castle Church Stafford and Oak Farm reads like a list of “who to choose for your perfect day, fabulous to work with so many highly respected friends in the trade. My day started with two of them, Helen Pearson MUA and Gemma of Dream Bridal Hair as they worked their magic for Becky. It was then off to Castle Church to meet Ed and the guys who arrived in style in the latest addition to Platinum Wedding Cars impressive fleet - a Bentley……….. They looked very debonair in their suits from Kevin Paul, always a perfect fit. Soon the bridesmaids joined us and we all eagerly awaited the arrival of Becky and her dad. Platinum’s classic Austin……… came into sight completing today’s trio of beautiful cars carrying Becky to meet her beau. She emerged from the car looking ” the perfect bride” in her gorgeous gown from Lucy Alexandra and carrying a fabulous bouquet from the very talented Lynne of Fine Flowers . Within a few minutes she was at Ed’s side soon to become “Mr & Mrs”. After the ceremony, it was on to Oak Farm for the main part of our photography today for this handsome couple. Group shots and the couple’s personal photos were taken in the grounds of this excellent and professionally run venue. The couple then joined me in the Paddock suite which had been dressed to perfection by Venue Creations with centre pieces and a whole host of other delightful items provided by Fine Flowers completing the wonderful setting, all topped off with a fantastic cake from Amerton Cakes. Great to have Stephen with me today for the wedding of Shelby & Stephen at St Marks Great Wyrley, without doubt one of our favourite churches in the region and then on to the ever popular Oak Farm hotel, which I have to say looks really good following the recent makeover. Our day started with Shelby and the girls as they enjoyed being pampered by the hairstylist and make up artist. Then it was on to the church where first on the scene were Stephen & his best man Liam who had travelled up from Devon for the day, both of them looking extremely smart in their suits from Kevin Paul. The bridesmaids were next to arrive in a “stretch” from DSC Limousines with Shelby and her Dad Mark following close behind in a vintage Austin Princess from Platinum Wedding Cars. All of the girls carried floral creations provided by Chase Florist. Shelby dressed in a full gown from Celebrity of Cannock was escorted by her Dad to the altar to join Stephen for the ceremony, made all that more meaningful as Stephens family are dedicated members of the congregation at St Marks. After the ceremony and a few family group shots in the church grounds it was off to Oak Farm for the couples celebrations. The Paddock suite looked lovely today dressed by Venue Creations with balloons from Carabou, who also provided the balloons for a “release” at the end of today’s photography. Sticky Fingers provided the guests with delicious ice cream in the warm sunshine while the couple joined myself and Stephen for their personal portraits. An evening return for cake cutting (Kathryns Homemade Cakes) and first dance completed our coverage for this well suited couple. Shelby & Stephens chosen suppliers:- Venue - Oak Farm Venue Décor - Venue Creations Cars - Bride – Platinum / Bridesmaids – DSC Limousines Dress - Celebrity Cannock Menswear - Kevin Paul Florist - Chase Florist Cake - Kathryns Homemade Cakes Balloons - Carabou Ice Cream Trike - Sticky Fingers Tamworth Photography - Barry James Photography - the couple chose our digital coverage

Another Oak Farm wedding for us today, it really is a popular venue. Today it was the turn of Charlie and Jason to sample the delights on offer. Jason and the guys were all dressed and ready for the photo session, looking every inch the part in their suits from Dapper Dan. Once all of the guests had taken their seats in the ceremony room, which looked really fabulous styled by Venue Creations, it was the turn of the bridesmaids to face the camera. Charlie soon joined them looking a picture in her gown from Katies Brides, which was complimented by a gorgeous bouquet from the extremely talented Fine Flowers. The contribution of MUA Hannah Ince and hairstylist Gemma Neville did not go unnoticed, Charlie looked stunning. As usual the registrars performed a lovely ceremony and soon everyone was enjoying welcome drinks in the very warm sunshine. The couple joined Stephen and myself for their personal photos in the front gardens before returning to their guests for a few pre meal group shots. An evening return to capture the atmosphere and the first dance completed our coverage for this well matched couple. Holy Trinity Church + The Village Hotel | Laura + Anthony
Laura + AJ's Holy Trinity + Village Hotel Walsall Wedding
Walsall Documentary Wedding Photographers Stuart James
Although a Walsall wedding photographer, it's not all that often I get to work in my home-town. It's even less often that I get to start by coverage so close to home too! Laura + Anthony commissioned me to capture their wedding at Holy Trinity Church ahead of their wedding reception at The Village Hotel Walsall, wanting to capture the real emotion of the wedding - and I think we managed to do precisely that :-) On the lead up to the wedding, I got to spend a little time with Laura + AJ, and their beautiful family over Cannock Chase. Using the engagement shoot, to also be a family shoot, really added to the connection ahead of the wedding, and I loved every second with them all:
Cannock Chase Family Portrait Photographer
Walsall Documentary Wedding Photographer
Come the day of the wedding, it was fabulous to be able to spend time capturing both the bridal and groomsmen preparations - though of course, I spent more time with the girls! I loved the plans for the day with an afternoon wedding leading straight into a relaxed evening reception - in a room that looked INCREDIBLE, styled to perfection by Dani's Wedding Party Angels - the whole day was beautiful! Laura and AJ currently live down the road from Laura's parents, which added to the story. With Laura being looked after with Sam on hair duties and Kate Reynolds on makeup the ladies were all looking fabulous. When I saw Laura's dress, I was blown away, and knew we would get one timeless reaction from AJ at the church!
Creative Documentary Wedding Photography
Laura and AJ's wedding was a fantastic, big family affair and them saying 'I do' seemed to be the perfect way to celebrate their imperfect family of 6! While the flower girls were getting ready with the stunning Bride, the Groomsmen were busy buttoning up their suits from Kevin Paul and were looking rather smart!
Beautiful Walsall Wedding Photographs
It's one of the most heartfelt moments on someone's wedding day, and Laura's dad did not disappoint. A look of pride, joy and happy tears came across his face when he saw how amazing Laura looked as she arrived down the stairs! After a few rwonderful and emotional moments happened for me to capture forever, the cars from Xtreme Limo's were here to collect the bridal party who looked beautiful in their dresses supplied from Made By Angels and take them the perfect wedding venue that is Holy Trinity Church.
Holy Trinity Church Wedding
What an arrival! With all the guests at the church and ring security on hand, rocking his sunglasses and also giving his sister some much-needed support, it was time for the bride to arrive, and arrive she did! What a brilliant moment to capture when Laura and her dad pulled up in a magnificent horse-drawn carriage from Elaine Barnard Horse Drawn Occasions.
With a bit of persistence and a push, the ring was on...hooray! Laura and AJ were now officially married.
New Invention Wedding Photographer
After the fantastic celebrations inside, it was terrific to get some quality time with the newly married couple and get some beautiful portraits for their wedding day. Not forgetting a gorgeous shot of Laura's bouquet made by the brilliant Entwined. Once I had finished photographing Laura and AJ, they were away in their horse-drawn carriage and off to The Village Hotel for their reception.
Village Hotel Wedding Photographs
The wedding decor was breathtaking, organised by Dani's Wedding Party Angels the purple colour theme along with the fairy lights and ceiling drapes were a brilliant setting to get some fab shots. The fantastic 5 tier cake by A Sweet Slice, finished the whole look off brilliantly.
Walsall Wedding Photographer
What a touching moment for myself and Steve Lunn at Video Occasions to capture. Not only did we have the privilege of capturing Laura and AJ's first dance and Laura's dance with her Dad, but we also got to capture a surprise Mother and Daughter dance too.
While the party was in full swing in The Village Hotel, I managed to steal Laura and AJ away for some night time portraits. What a stunning ending to a beautiful day.
Laura and Anthony, what a HUGE pleasure it was to capture your wedding. From start to end, I had an absolute blast, and adore how the complete story has come together. You have one incredible family to be proud of, and being able to document such a special day for you all was amazing - thank you once again!

Oak Farm Hotel | Sam + Dale |
New Post has been published on on (https://www.stuartjamesphoto.co.uk/midweek-oak-farm-wedding-photographs/)
Oak Farm Hotel | Sam + Dale
Oak Farm Wedding Photographs
Relaxed and Natural Wedding Photography by Oak Farm Wedding Photographer Stuart James
It was back in January of last year that I first spoke to Sam + Dale. They were looking for wedding photographs that, "are beautiful and capture the memories created, this is what we want for our day". I think it's safe to say I enjoy fulfilling that remit! For me, capturing the story of the wedding day is what it's all about. From the morning preparations through to the party on the night. Photographs of the details and the people, the setting and the emotion; it all comes together in the narrative that allows you to relive the wedding story. Sam + Dale's midweek wedding at Oak Farm was genuinely fabulous to be part of. From walking into one of the most relaxed atmospheres I've experienced on the wedding morning to capturing the character of the kids, to the fantastic party - the day had it all. Midweek weddings, especially Thursday weddings, always have a unique feel about them. Whether it's the guests stealing a couple of days off work for a long weekend, or the often smaller nature of the weddings, I adore being part of midweek weddings.
Oak Farm Hotel Wedding Photographs
My coverage for Sam + Dale's wedding began with the morning preparations with Sam and the girls. Sam had brought so much personal attention to the wedding, from sourcing everything she could from the wonders of eBay, to the bridesmaids being on hand for makeup. As the bridal hair was coming together in the hands of Lacey, I headed down to Dale and the boys. With them getting ready in one of the hotel's rooms, it was beautiful to be able to add the coverage of the boys into the wedding preparations, and to capture the little character - Sam + Dale's son, Oscar! So many fabulous characters to capture, especially Sam + Dale's children, Oscar and Cora. With the boys suited and booted courtesy of JD Williams, it was great to see the guests straight into the wedding spirit. It was set to be a fabulous day to capture! With our bride looking fabulous and ready for the ceremony, Dale's brother Ryan was doing his best to keep our groom relaxed!
Wedding Ceremony Photographs at Oak Farm
With the beautiful light from the large windows bathing the ceremony room, it's always brilliant to capture the story of the wedding ceremony at Oak Farm.
Relaxed Couple Shots in Oak Farm's Gardens
From the ceremony as the guests headed into the gardens with a drink, it was terrific to steal a few moments with the newly minted Mr & Mrs Harris in the gardens at Oak Farm before joining the guests for the relaxed afternoon.
Relaxed Candid Photographs of the Wedding Reception
With a small group and plenty of time, it was ace to be able to let everyone relax for much of the afternoon. Except for the few family photographs, the afternoon was all about capturing the guests enjoying the day. And with a bouncy castle - that also seemed to work suitably as a goal net - there was no shortage of content to capture.
Wedding Breakfast at Oak Farm
The personal attention continued into the wedding reception with the decor brought together by the bride and the fabulous Venue Creations team at Oak Farm. I loved the story behind the tables from where the couple had had the chapters of their life together: From the entrance of our Bride and Groom to their awaiting guests, it was straight into the very amusing speeches!
Creative Evening Portraits of the Bride and Groom
With beautiful weather all afternoon, we were spoilt once again. Being able to wait to make the most of the perfect evening light was just fantastic!
Relaxed Evening Photography | Oak Farm Wedding Photographs
As the evening sun beat down, capturing the guests kicking back and having a great time was fantastic.
Creative First Dance Photographs
From the kids enjoying the floor, it was briefly over to the Bride and Groom to take over. After a couple of minutes together they were joined beautifully by their children ahead of being surrounded by their friends and family. What a start to a party this was!! Alas, all too quickly, my coverage came to an end - but not before one of my new favourite images at Oak Farm, with THAT tree ;-) Sam and Dale, can I once again say a huge congratulations to you both. Stunning Spring Wedding at The Moat House Acton Trussell
The Moat House Acton Trussell has for many years been one of our favourite venues. Today for the wedding of Georgia & Sean it was to be my last visit as a professional photographer and it looked just as fresh and friendly as it always has. I shall miss this place as I move into retirement. The day itself was a really kind day, heavy rain forecast for later but for the wedding, thankfully dry.
Moat House Wedding Photographers
My day started with Georgia as she enjoyed her final preparations with Rachel Bourne taking care of her make up with hair by Gemma Birch. I left them for a short time to capture Sean & the guys who arrived in a surprise Limo, have to say they all looked rather smart in their suits from Dapper Dan.
Staffordshire Wedding Photographers
Next, it was back to Georgia, just in time to see her stepping into her fantastic gown from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks. The day was now speeding along and soon all of the guests were seated in the Acton suite, styled today to perfection by Bespoke Creations, who incidentally also provided the bouquets and bridal party flowers.
Creative Wedding Photography at The Moat House
Sean stood at the front eagerly awaiting his bride and when she arrived, yes you guessed it…..the tears flowed. The ceremony was made all that much more enjoyable by the regular interruptions from Dolly, the couples adorable daughter.
Lakeside portraits at The Moat House
As Georgia & Sean left the room they were joined by close family and friends Lakeside for those all important group shots. Taking advantage of the kind weather the couple then joined me for their personal portraits around the gorgeous grounds of this stunning venue.
Candid Photographs of the Wedding Speeches at The Moat House
Back to the Acton suite for photos with the cake from Cakes by Pip, Table Centres by the bride’s friend Stacey and stationery from Elegant Creations by Mandy. Coverage of the entertaining speeches completed the daytime sessions, with an evening return to capture the first dance of the new Mr & Mrs Haynes bringing their day with me to a close. Without question a wedding that was a pleasure to cover and a fitting end to my career at The Moat House. St James Church + The Moat House | Ellie + Josh
Winter Wedding by Stafford Wedding Photographers
Ellie + Josh's Acton Trussell Wedding by Stafford Wedding Photographers
Church Bells ringing, snowdrops blooming, another new season begins. Today saw me at St James Acton Trussell and The Moat House for the wedding of the lovely Ellie and her handsome groom Josh. My day started at Ellie’s parent's house to photograph her dress from Wed2be and her bouquet from C & R Flowers. It was then over to the church to capture Josh & the guys who made the short walk from the Moat House, have to say they looked extremely smart in their suits from Duncan James. Next to arrive in a stretch limo from Finishing Touch were……wait for it……. Ellie’s nine bridesmaids, two flower girls and six pageboys! Right behind in a modern Bentley from the same company came the star of the show, today's Bride Ellie, escorted by her Dad Robert to make the short walk down the aisle where her husband to be, Josh, eagerly awaited her arrival. After the ceremony and a few photos at church, it was over to the warmth of the Moat House. Due to the cold weather, all of today’s group shots were completed in the library, a gorgeous room, with the couple then joining me for photos in the Acton Suite, styled today to perfection as always by Design Elegance. The guests at this time were entertained by the fabulous Andrew & Nicki of Finesse. To complete today's short coverage the couple braved the elements for a portrait session in the wonderful grounds of the Moat House. They will have the chance to warm up on their honeymoon in Mexico.

Featured Supplier : Sorella Wedding Stylist |
New Post has been published on on (https://www.stuartjamesphoto.co.uk/wedding-stylist-staffordshire/)
Featured Supplier : Sorella Wedding Stylist
Wedding Decor Specialist in Staffordshire
Perfect styling and decor for your Staffordshire Wedding with Sorella Decor - Wedding Stylist Staffordshire
I've known Kerry and the team from Sorella Decor for years from our work together at The Moat House, and when I was bringing these interviews along I knew I had to sit down with her!
Wedding decor is such an essential part of the wedding, as the styling brings together your theme, and makes the venue sincerely yours. Finding the right company for this is so important, as each has their styles and approaches. With creative techniques that bring something unique to your wedding.
With fresh flower design, almost every colour of sash you can think of, and the will to always try something new, it is well worth looking at the Sorella Events team for your Staffordshire wedding!
Over the seven years, the experience has grown within Sorella, and growing organically over the period has allowed the personal attention to remain. Whether you're looking for something genuinely creative or wanting someone to bring your vision to life, Sorella believe the secret of their success lies in personally creating designs which reflect you and your day! The advice I know Kerry and the team from Sorella will give you really will be invaluable!
Wedding Stylist Staffordshire
From humble beginnings of supplying chair covers seven years ago, Sorella events grew organically by providing to couples demands:
"People were asking us about centrepieces and swags for tables, and aisle runners, all sorts of other things, and it just naturally grows and I loved it. It's fun, it's interesting, and it's nice to be a part of somebody's big special day."
I think that is key, and from all of these Supplier Interviews, seeing that everyone just LOVES this industry is so warming to see.
When you are bringing together the styling for your wedding day, knowing where to go for different things is a question, so I was interested to discover what Sorella Decor can provide:
"They can get everything! All the venue styling, but also all of their fresh flowers, and floral arrangements for tables. We can dress the church; we can do all of the centrepieces, bridal bouquets, buttonholes, all the styling that you're looking. Whether it be candelabras, vases, everything. We also hire post boxes. And what we provide is always growing - people always asking us for something different, and it's like, 'oh right, yeah, we can we can do that! Let's get that in!' At Sorella, we're always thinking what's on trend at the moment? What's coming in? Whether its vintage or rustic styles, we just keep adding to the stock constantly."
Knowing that a company is bang-on-trend is fabulous - after all, you want your wedding to be perfect and to your ideas. And if those ideas have come from recently featured weddings in magazines or on blogs, it's great knowing the team at Sorella can create the modern look for you!
Staffordshire Wedding Stylist
I always thought with stylists it would be all or nothing - you choose one company, and they bring everything together!
However, as I found out on the two weddings I captured Kerry, Rachel and Margaret dressing at Weston Hall and The Moat House, you can talk to suppliers about different things, and let them bring it all together for you!
"We're very happy to work with people. If they've got a friend who is a florist, but they just work in a normal flower shop and want to do the bouquets. That sort of thing. We're more than happy to work with every bride and couple individually and fill in the gaps they might need us to fill in. Whether that even be providing martini glasses for the flower arrangements, they can just hire them off us! Very often they'll say to us, 'you know, can you just set it up in the room? My mom is going to be getting ready that morning; she's not going to have time?' That's fine, not a problem!"
Knowing you have someone who will work with you is just fabulous!
When Should You Book Your Wedding Stylist
I often think when planning your wedding suppliers, with the difference in information out there from one source to another, it really must feel a bit confusing, so I put the question to Kerry:
"Well we can only do so many weddings on an actual day, so if they want to use a company like ourselves, they do need to get us booked, and I know we say this all the time, but about 12-18 months in advance is ideal! We are taking bookings the main especially for Saturday's in August and June, July but it's all year round - we're in February, and we've done two weddings today!"
So the biggest advice there - book early to avoid disappointment!!
Cannock Wedding Decor
Although I get to photograph the creates styled by Sorella and other venue stylists throughout the year, I know very little about the process, so I thought it would be interesting to discover more of the journey a Sorella Bride and Groom go on!
"People come to the studio. We sit down, and usually, they haven't got much of an idea of what they want to do, and they come to us and sort of say, 'Well how do you think this is going to look? Do you think this is going to work there?', And I'll advise them. And it's usually quite good fun.
We can sit down, and they'll bring their Pinterest board with them on their iPad, and it's like this is my mood board, this is what I'm thinking, and from that, we'll pick out the essential elements. What is it that connects? Whether it's the flowers, do they like they're like roses? Do they like hydrangeas? What is it that they like? Are they going for that rustic look?
That's when we design around their ideas - whether they've initially got a distinct idea of their styling, or indeed needing our guidance."
I think this must be fascinating - both for Sorella and for your guys, the Bride and Grooms!
Afterall, creating something extraordinary and unique is what it's about!!
Cannock Wedding Stylist
Guiding couples to the right styling for their venue is also crucial, as specific venues require a different approach - or indeed, some require less decoration to look amazing!
"The first question I ask: which venue is it? Obviously, we do know most of the venues, so I've got a good idea of what works well and maybe areas of that venue that do need dressing, areas that you can leave that alone, that are pretty enough."
This local knowledge of Staffordshire Wedding Venues is fabulous and must instil such confidence when you talk to Kerry!
Bringing different approached to different venues also comes with the chairs too - after all, with the difference from solidly backed chairs, to the gorgeous Chiavari chairs offered at other venues, a difference in stylist is needed.
Understanding the styling themes that work with different venues is also important:
"Don't fight the style that the venues already in! Use what you've already got, and and it will work well, then and people will walk in and go, 'wow, that looks fabulous !' All you've done is enhance the room!"
How Much Does Wedding Decor Cost?
"When you've got Pinterest and Google images that brides bring in, and say 'I want that!', It's up to us to say, 'do you realise that that is hundreds of pounds worth of flowers per table, and you've got ten tables? Are we going to be in that price range?' If the answer's no, that's fine. Instead what elements of that design they love?"
I think this is huge - after all, we can all easily fall in love with something we see online, but it's important to evaluate, tweak and adjust our ideas to fit our days perfectly. So whether it's the bouquets you love or the colours; talk to Kerry and the team at Sorella, and let them bring your ideas to life, within your budget!
A top tip from Kerry also came down to the table centrepieces. In fact, she brought us two great suggestions:
You don't need to have extensive designs on each table! If you have ten tables, mix-and-match across your room, with some tables high arrangements, others low-level arrangements. The variety adds interest and flow to the room and looks fabulous!
Re-use the arrangements around different parts of your wedding!! This can be a GREAT money-saver too. If you're getting married in the same setting, it can be possible to re-use centrepieces on pedestals for the ceremony, then on the tables for the wedding breakfast!
Bringing Your Colours To Your Wedding Venue Styling
"If you've got a tall ceiling. I always say this, 'try to take the colour up into the centrepieces.'"
Also with tall centrepieces, they're great for "cross conversation on the tables" - keep your centre-pieces either high or low - you want your guests to talk comfortably across the tables!
The Perfect Styling for Your Wedding While Considering the Budget!
I've long said the best thing all couples can do when talking to suppliers is be completely honest - there is often something we can do, or advise on, to make your day truly perfect.
"If they're open and honest we can normally guide couples because there's normally something we can do, but without compromising on the quality. Obviously, that's always got to be there."
Top Wedding Planning Tips from Sorella Events
Throughout these interviews with Staffordshire Wedding Suppliers, I'm bringing together the collective knowledge we all have from the wedding industry, to help make your wedding planning easy and stressfree!
Kerry indeed wasn't short of great tips and advice throughout the interview:
"When you are thinking about styling, think about what your venue? What does your venue lend itself to already, and build from there? Think about the season that you're in if it's a lovely summer wedding, then yes, all the pastels work really well, but maybe if it's a winter wedding, think of warmer colours."
"Get in there early with your suppliers. Get your key people booked. Get in with people if you want to use them, and you then be open to ideas and suggestions!"
"Think about the seasons and the flowers that are going to be available. We can normally get everything, but let us guide and advise you."

So it was a welcome return to Calderfields, one of our most popular local venues for the wedding of Kirsty and Lee, on this beautiful early October day. Lee and the guys were there early, looking well smart in their suits from Duncan James. A little while after the bridesmaids arrived in a stretch from Finishing Touch. Following behind was our bride Kirsty and her Dad in a gorgeous Austin Princess, courtesy of Platinum Wedding Cars. Kirsty looked stunning in her gown from Your Wedding Shop, with a bouquet from Flore of Willenhall completing the picture. Emerald Strings entertained the guests as they waited for the ceremony to begin. After a small delay, Kirsty walked the few steps to be at Lee’s side as they became husband and wife. Then as the guests enjoyed celebration drinks the couple joined me Lakeside for their personal portraits. Family group shots preceded the meal with me then returning for cake cutting, the cake provided by Bee’s Scrummy Cakes, and first dance later in the evening.

A Gorgeous Summer Wedding at Fairlawns in Aldridge
One of our local venues, the lovely Fairlawns at Aldridge was the setting for today’s wedding of Mykala and Aaron. The day started with Mykala and the girls as they made themselves ready for the big occasion. Mykala's dress, a Maggie Sottero creation from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks looked fabulous on its hanger and looked even better once Mykala stepped into it complimented by her “Jimmy Choo” shoes. It was not long before Aaron and the guys arrived in style in a surprise stretch limo. They were wearing full highland kilt attire supplied by Duncan James of Walsall – and very impressive they looked too. The garden room had been styled to perfection for the ceremony by Stacey and the team at Make My Wedding Special. Aaron waited nervously for the appearance of his bride Mykala who was escorted to his side by her Dad Steve. The ceremony was short but meaningful and soon the newly married couple led their guests to The Terrace for celebration drinks before joining me on the lovely grounds for their group shots. After a few moments capturing their private portraits, it was time to eat and celebrate. An evening return for the first dance and cake cutting completed my coverage for this “so much in love” couple.

Oak Farm was the venue for today’s wedding of Emma & Chris. It is one of our most popular venues this season and this was my second wedding of the weekend there – it really is a warm and friendly venue. Chris was first to show, looking resplendent in his immaculate suit from Kevin Paul Hednesford. After a few photos of the guys it was the turn of the bridesmaids and flower girl before Emma made her entrance – and boy what an entrance – she looked absolutely stunning in her fabulous gown from Aisle be There, perfect makeup as usual by Helen Pearson, all topped off with a fresh bouquet created by Carrie Lucas Flowers. Emma joined Chris in the Garden suite at Oak Farm for a short, meaningful and sometimes quite an emotional ceremony. As their guests mingled on the terrace for welcome drinks and canapés the couple enjoyed a few private moments with me in the front gardens for their personal portraits. They then joined their family and friends for final group shots before the meal. The reception was in the Paddock Suite which was simply but beautifully dressed today by Venue Creations, centrepiece – the cake from Cakes & Sugar Craft Cannock. My short coverage today now complete I left another happy couple to enjoy the company of their children, family & friends.

Fiona + Martin's wedding story at St Johns Hammerwich and Moat House Acton Trussell
From the first time I met today’s groom, he had a smile on his face and today, the day he would marry Fiona at St Johns Hammerwich he was positively beaming. Martin and his best man Neil plus his two sons and two of Fiona’s sons, his ushers were first to face the lens and extremely smart they all looked in their suits from Duncan James. Fiona’s two bridesmaids were next to arrive quickly followed by Fiona in a modern Bentley from Finishing Touch. She was escorted to her wedding by her eldest son. Her dress from Kissxx Lichfield was an absolute delight, as was her bouquet from Amanda Hower of Burntwood. After a moving ceremony, the couple lead their family and friends out of church for a few photos followed by an avalanche of confetti before enjoying a leisurely drive to the Moat House Acton Trussell to continue their celebrations. As their guests enjoyed welcome drinks and canapes Martin & Fiona joined me on a tour of the venue’s fabulous grounds for their personal portraits. The all-important group shots were then covered before the couple made their way to the Acton suite, which looked fabulous today styled by Bespoke Creations. A few images in the room completed our coverage today for Fiona & Martin.

Creative Wedding Photographs at Chateau Impney by Droitwich Wedding Photographers Barry James
A full day ahead for Stephen and myself starting with bridal preps for Katie and her bridesmaids right through to the evening celebrations at the gorgeous Chateau Impney, which incidentally was completed in 1875, a jewel in the crown of Droitwich. While Stephen stayed with Katie right up until she left for church with her Dad in her car from LOVE WEDDING CARS I set off to meet Dave and the guys at St Annes at Streetly. They looked “window perfect” in their suits from Duncan James, and I must say were very calm and relaxed, it's wonderful what a break from school can do… Next to arrive were the beautiful bridesmaids and Katies Mom, and we all then along with many onlookers eagerly awaited the bride's entrance. We were not disappointed as she alighted from her Love Wedding Cars vintage style wedding car looking absolutely stunning in her gown from Designs on You and carrying a beautiful bouquet from Bramble Hedge Florist (Queslett). An extremely lively ceremony saw Katie and Dave become man and wife. After a few photos at Church, including a complete confetti storm it was on to the Chateau to celebrate the wedding of these childhood sweethearts. The gardens at this stunning venue provided the perfect backdrop for both the group shots and the couples personal portraits, not just your normal groups though as Dave, the Dads and the groomsmen had their shirts torn open to reveal “Super hero” T shirts, which was also the theme for the Grand ballroom and the dual design cake from Love Cake Supplies of Bourneville. Stephen and myself stayed with Katie and Dave to capture the speeches, cake cutting and a superb “show stopping” performance by Katie and two of her bridesmaids. as the band, Sparks said follow that if we can… Our time with this lovely couple and their equally lovely family and friends then came to a close…. We had a ball…Thankyou… The suppliers chosen by Katie and David : Venue - Chateau Impney Cars - Love Wedding cars Dress - Designs on You Menswear - Duncan James Florist - Bramble Hedge Florist (Queslett) Cake - Love Cake Supplies (Bourneville) Band - Sparks Photography - Barry James Wedding Photography - they chose our Silver Storybook Collection with two photographers.
